Switch Witch Ketchup #4

Dear Witch – I’ve gotten very boring on this Ketchup, so many questions… and I have to admit some of them really don’t apply to me because I already mentioned I’m not very crafty so I don’t want that kind of thing. I think I’ve gotten to the point where I’ll have very short answers on stuff I think I’ve answered. I can barely get through the thread anymore.. I just hop in there to stalk my Witchee, grab the new questions and hop out. >.< I know.. I’m soo not SOCIAL!!!! I'll try to keep up with the questions but if you want more detail on questions I think I've answered before, please contact me. Thanks!   9/21/10 Do you like garlic? Do you REALLY like garlic? Would you want to try some really unusual garlic stuff, like garlic cheese or garlic fudge or garlic chocolate, etc., etc., etc.? Sure!   9/20/10 If you happened to be my Witchee, is there something you'd like from the Arcana Halloween update? Hmmm the only thing that appeals would be Straightjacket & Holy Terror Soap – I haven’t actually tried any Arcana Oils How many bottles of BPAL do you have? 10-15? Not very many, and not counting decant circle left-overs. Is there any exercise program that you're interesting in learning? Meditation, Yoga, Pilates, Belly Dancing, Zumba ect? Or if you do any of these (or anything else sport related) are there any things you need/want? Candles, music, mats, water bottles ect? I have dvds of meditation, yoga, pilates and belly dancing.. yeah I know.. I had fun doing them, but I’ve gotten out of the habit of exercising… I guess I should move my butt and start doing them again! (p.s. theatre can take up a lot of time so when I am in shows I stop doing that kind of stuff). I don’t really need any additional supplies. Anyone else into Emily Autumn? No incense please. Any oddball free things you collect or would want saved for you? Umm no.   9/18/10 Who likes hair toys, and if so what kind? My hair is bad, it doesn’t get to play with toys. Okay silliness aside, I do like to use hair sticks and scrunchies. Does any art we may send need to be child safe, either in the actually safe sense or the non X rated sense? Ummm, I don’t have children so that’s okay, I would prefer not to get anything art related that’s x-rated. I do have a kitty, but seriously there’s nothing that’s ever kitty safe as far as I’m concerned.. they are imps! In the knitted/crocheted things area, would you want wrist warmers, 1/2 gloves, a neck warmer(the kind that pretty much just goes around your neck and maybe fastens instead of being long and loose like a scarf), slippers, or hats? ½ gloves and neck warmers would be my preference. How do you feel about altered/recycled/upcycled items of clothing or accessories? They would be cool. One of my fav stores on etsy makes these amazing (aka really expensive) upcycled sweater/jacket things. Is there anything you want from the Violette Market update? I haven’t tried VM scents at all. So… I actually don’t WANT these.. it’s more like if decants came my way I wouldn’t turn them down. Who am I kidding I wouldn’t turn decants of any kind down. But these are the scents that description’s that caught my attention: Ms. Dolly's Frock Shop, Miss Susanna West, Zarya Occultist and Tarot Card Reader, Lydia's Firefly Lanterns, Raven's Midnight Pumpkin Patch, Gertrude's Half-Haunted Bake Shop, Ghost Dancer, Glowing Jack O' Lantern. What is your favourite habitat and climate to live in? How about to visit? (ie. forest, canyons, mountains, by the beach; temperate, tropical...) I would love to live in a cool breezy forest, somewhere that didn’t get muggy. Oh and the forest would every so often have a nice big open space filled with grass that I could lie in the sun if I ever wanted…. What do you wish you could make/craft if you had the know-how and supplies? Specifically, which particular items? I don’t want to craft anything… so I shan’t answer this.. mwahhahahahah. SIGH – okay after typing that I felt guilty. Dear witch, if you HAD to torture me I would do jewelry. The only thing is I have a lot of supplies already, beads, crystals, pearls, Swarovski, metal findings… etc. I have a lot of supplies for a lot of unfinished hobbies lying around… please please PLEASE do not encourage that kind of pack-rat-ism in my life… LOL! Is there anything you would like from Conjure Oils general catalogue or the new updates that isn't already on your wishlist? I never realized it till this set of Ketchup, but I really haven’t tried a lot of other company’s oils. I haven’t ever tried Conjure. Scents that seem interesting are: Incubus, Lucifer, Succubus, Abandoned Morgue 2010, Calavera de Azúcar 2010, Sweet Death 2010. ( Wow, I might have to go find a circle, these are really appealing to me – I wish I hadn’t gone to see what their new scents are!) Am I alone in this, or is there a Book Fair/Comic Con scent you're dying to get your paws on, too? None of them are really calling out my name. Anyone need address/phone type books? Would you mind a gently used dvd/cd if your witch had it or could get it?? Firefly - gently used would be fine. Is there anything from the Possets' Hallowe'en update you're lusting after? Dark, Gypsy Grave and Melanie Would you like a custom/altered toy either from a seller or from your witch (like My Little Pony, or a Barbie or any particular toy that can be changed?) No thank you. Do you like the candy apple, candy corn or pumpkin spice kisses? I’ve never seen these!! I would love some! Anne Taintor, anyone? Not interested. Which web comics do you enjoy? Ummm Gunnerkrigg Court – but Im not interested in any products. OHHH but on a side note.. I really like Get Fuzzy, which is a real comic.. Fuzzy is such a rotter!   9/16/10 If I were to knit a scarf, would you prefer a skinny one, or a wide one? A short one, that when wrapped once around your neck will just tuck under your jacket, or a long one, at least to your waist? I have no idea, surprise me? Don't like scarves? What I have is a recipe binder - Full sized regular binder that has sheet protectors as pages.. I just slide the recipes in. What kind of a cook/baker are you? I like to bake desserts of all kinds, though I haven’t actually tackled a full cheesecake (have done tartlets). Cooking wise, I do okay but am challenged with roasting big pieces of meat.. haven’t quite learned the art of this. My favorite cookbook is the Joy of Cooking – I love how crazy detailed it is. Are you happiest calling for delivery or microwaving a lean cuisine, Or will Food Network be asking you to host their new program? I enjoy food and cooking, but when I’m tired.. screw it – the microwave is the BEST invention EVER!!! I can't imagine the Food Network contacting me.. I don't have the ability to throw in a little bit of this and that together and miraculously have it taste good. If I send you something home made would you like the recipe for it? Sure! If you are someone who doesn't want baked goods sent, would you like a collection of some of my favorite recipes? Gimme the baked goods dammit!! No holding out allowed How about home made mixes or kits? Kind of like the cookie in a jar thing, where you would need to add the perishable ingredients? 9/19/10 Do you read/like fantasy? What kind of books or authors do you love? Which one would you like to read? Would you like gifts related to it? I'm not crazy about epic, Tolkienesque series (although I loved Tolkien, and I had a middle-school love affair with the Dragonlance Chronicles). I prefer a contemporary spin on my fantasy. I do play Changeling: The Lost, and costume items/jewelry is definitely appreciated. Soaps : do you like them? What brands? What scents? Anything you're dying to try? I love Arcana's stuff, and my boyfriend is crazy about Villainess (although I usually prefer the Gingersnapped scrub). Samples are always great, too!   9/18/10 Who likes hair toys, and if so what kind? I do! I like all kinds, from headbands to barrettes (especially Celtic-themed barrettes). Artistic nudes are fine, but I would be uncomfortable with anything too openly pornographic. At least for the walls. I haven't tried a lot from Violette Market, and I don't feel as if the samples I did try were really a representative sample. I'd love to try some of the foodie Halloween/Diablo scents, even in decants or testers, and I'm most intrigued by Raven's Midnight Pumpkin Patch. I tend to use them in the kitchen, so something foody is usually better than something floral; I get kind of grossed out if my nose tells me "food" and "soap/perfume" at the same time! would you like a zuni animal fetish? From Sept 23-27, I will be in New Orleans for a conference. Then, at the very end of the round, I will be in Louisville Kentucky from November 12 to November 21 for graduate school. If you are in school now, what classes are you taking? Does anything you are currently studying really interest you? (if you are not in school, is there anything you are trying to learn?) I'm in an MFA program for Creative Writing. Creative writing and literature, particularly Romantic literature and Renaissance drama. What animal would your daemon be? Alternately, your patronus. Favorite Halloween/Scary movies/books The Others. Let the Right One In. Old Boris Karloff movies. The Crow, Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula. As for books, can't go wrong with Shirley Jackson, Joe Hill, Bram Stoker's Dracula . . . I love really old horror movies, including silent films. COMIC BOOKS. Do you read them? Are there any series you like, or some you would like to try? Yes. I still have a subscription to Wonder Woman, although I've been unhappy with it for a long while, and I miss Spider-Girl. 9/25/10 If you could make a scent that represents where you live (or have lived), what would be the ingredients? My family was Air Force, so this question encompasses a lot of places. Perhaps a will o' the wisp scent, that constantly morphs. Sometimes wonderful, sometimes even a nasty phase   Are you in need of Roller bottles or anything of the like? Very much looking for imp-size or even smaller roller bottles, for carrying & reapplication. Cobalt blue, or some other dark color. i caved

okay i admit it I caved, i couldn't deal with the caffineless of my existence any more. So i am back to almost full speed. I am going to try weening myself back instead of the abrupt stop this time.   I will be posting to the IGT thread about the girls fairy booklets. They are Frothing to get to them and i keep telling them they have to help me get a place cleaned off to do it.   I am almost 25 pages behind on the SW thread due to my weekend in the fog. I will slog through it today and hope to get to the minty catch uped ness by tonight, but it may be tomorrow.

Steak Sauce through 9/20

Do you read/like fantasy? What kind of books or authors do you love? Which one would you like to read? Would you like gifts related to it? I’m not into fantasy or science fiction Soaps : do you like them? What brands? What scents? Anything you're dying to try? I like soaps, but have found that bar soaps tend to be drying on my skin. I do adore all of most of Paintbox’s soaps and sorbettos, with the unfortunate exception of The Queen is Dead. I was so excited about this one and after trying it I kept wondering where the smell of burnt fried chicken was coming from. Unfortunately it was me. Normally honey and I tend to love each other, but not this time. I am anxious to try any of her fall LE’s, but I’ve been good and haven’t ordered any for myself. I’m not a huge Lush fan, and have quite a pile of it that I’m trying to use up. Otherwise I love the little sample sizes bars and slices. I’m more than happy to try any brands that you think I might love. Right now I’m loving my Snake Oil soap! Who likes hair toys, and if so what kind? I like hair toys! I have very thick hair that is shoulder length, and growing. 90% of the time I wear it pulled back or put up in some fashion. Does any art we may send need to be child safe, either in the actually safe sense or the non X rated sense? No children to worry about. In the knitted/crocheted things area, would you want wrist warmers, 1/2 gloves, a neck warmer(the kind that pretty much just goes around your neck and maybe fastens instead of being long and loose like a scarf), slippers, or hats? I think I kind of answered this once, but just to make sure I’ll do it again. Wrist warmers, half gloves, fingerless gloves and such would not be of much use. I live where we have real winter and need to cover up. A neck warmer would be ok, though. I love slippers!! My favorite pair ever were a pair that I got at a church bazaar that were hand crocheted. As for hats, I love them in theory, and tend to buy lots of them. In reality, I never wear them because I have so much thick hair that they never fit exactly right and then my head gets sweaty and itchy. I usually wear a big scarf (almost the size of a small afghan)wrapped up around my head and neck then tucked into my coat. How do you feel about altered/recycled/upcycled items of clothing or accessories? I think they are great. Is there anything you want from the Violette Market update? (Like over 200) What kind of a cook/baker are you? When I have the time I’m all about the from scratch. Last Christmas I made over 80 dozen cookies/bars/candies to give away. Are you happiest calling for delivery or microwaving a lean cuisine, Or will Food Network be asking you to host their new program? I like good home cooking. Very rarely do the microwave thing. About once a month I make 8 or 10 different meals, then freeze them in individual portions so that I just have to throw one in the oven when I’m hungry. If I send you something home made would you like the reciepe for it? Please! If you are someone who doesn't want baked goods sent, would you like a collection of some of my favorite recipes? Yes Please! Would also love your tips and tricks if you have any. How about home made mixes or kits? Kind of like the cookie in a jar thing, where you would need to add the perishable ingredients? I'm not really much into fantasy at all, but I've been trying to read some Neil Gaiman and would like to read American Gods (actually started to listen to the book on CD... 19 CDs from the library, but didn't get through it before I had to return it to the library) since I live quite close to House on the Rock.   Soaps : do you like them? Bois 1920, Classic 1920

Notes: "Chinese citron, Haitian vetiver, Antilles sandalwood, amber".   Given the notes listed (and the price tag), I was expecting to be really impressed.....and I'm not. Don't get me wrong, this smells good. Nothing offensive about it. It's so smoothly blended that I can't pick out one single note, except maybe amber, but only because I know it's there. But this really didn't 'wow' me and I wouldn't go hunting down a big bottle. I would put it at the masculine end of the spectrum, clean smelling, but not hyper dude-fume. I wouldn't be surprised if there are women who enjoy this. I'll enjoy the rest of my sample!

What? It's a Jackson Polluck (which seriously, if it looks like a drop cloth, does not deserve to get tons of money).   Girl Scout cookies? You can send all the Samoas, Thin Mints, and Trefoils right here!   Apple butter? Oh yes. Berry butter sounds good too. No pumpkin butter, though.   Incense? No thanks.   Art? I have mostly naked walls. There is a framed print of a generic French seaside town in the dining room, and at the end of the hallway there is a colorful print of gerbera daisies which was originally meant to be hanging in my bedroom. Other than that.. empty. Count me on the list for Starry Nights, and Monet's Waterlilies.   Emily Autumn? Have d/led some of her tracks, but I don't think I've actually listened to them yet.

9/19/10 Do you read/like fantasy? What kind of books or authors do you love? Which one would you like to read? Would you like gifts related to it? Yes - I love George RR Martin. Sure, I always loved fantasy stuff even as a kid. I had a unicorn collection!   Soaps : do you like them? What brands? What scents? Anything you're dying to try? SW Q&A September 20th

How many bottles do you have? 5mL: 57 10mL: 1 empty 5mL: 2   Any kind of exercise/ activity you are interested in learning, or already do and need stuff for?   Umm, I don't think I'm up to learn anything new right now, but I like to practice belly dance moves. Any kind of music or accessories for that would be much appreciated. Or, if you have any fun ideas to get my mother to stick with an exercise routine, that would be absolutely awesome.

SW Q&A I have no idea what date

I think I missed some, there for here area bunc hof random questions:   Edible Arrangements No, thank you. It is still rather warm here, and I think that would not go well.   Incense I think I'm more of a traditional incense kinds girl. I like Shoyeido. Kyoto Sakura Blossom is my favorite. I don't burn incense very often, so I still have a bunch, but if you have something you'd like to share, I'll definitely appreciate and use it.   Arcana/Possets/Conjure Oils update I have not tried any of these brands, so I have no idea. If you have something you think I'd like, sure, but please don't go out of your way.

Sorry witchie to worry you. I have to admit i am a bit bi-polar when i am up i am bouncy when i am down i m rather well dead sloth like. I have been trying to give up caffeine again this past week i spent mostly in bed trying to be conscious for anything I HAD to do. it was not pretty. My head ache was almost gone this morning so with some errands and having to take the little one to school ia m a little beter today.   I plan on tackling the thread later today, i am sure after a weekend away I am WAY behind.

Fry Sauce with Cayenne Pepper

Yes, fry sauce with cayenne pepper is a legitimate condiment. And it's yummeh--I made sliders for a barbecue this weekend that were topped by swiss cheese, prosciutto and a little bit of spicy fry sauce and everyone inhaled them.   And now that THAT particular bit of rambling weirdness is out there, here are some virtual condiments:   So I have a question for y'all in the hope my witchee will answer - is there anything you would like from Conjure Oils general catalogue or the new updates that isn't already on your wishlist? Nothing from the Conjure Oils really grabs me.   What is your favourite habitat and climate to live in? How about to visit? I prefer cooler climes--I'm definitely a four season girl. I love mountains, forests and the ocean. (So why do I live on the prairie?)   How do people feel about edible arrangements? I've had bad experiences with that particular company..so, no thanks.   Anyone need address/phone type books? No thanks, it's all online and on my phone.   Do you read/like fantasy? What kind of books or authors do you love? Which one would you like to read? Would you like gifts related to it? I haven't read much fantasy but I'm open to suggestions.   Did someone ask about incense yet? Would you like some? Do you read/like fantasy? What kind of books or authors do you love? Which one would you like to read? Would you like gifts related to it? I think I've answered that already with all the book questions.   Soaps : do you like them? What brands? What scents? Anything you're dying to try? I've got tons of soap already.   I wondered if my witch or any witch would enjoy things like nice pens to draw with or anything similar? I don't really draw much, but nice pens sound good.   For those who are yarnies, would you like other-than-yarn witchery? Hooks, needles? Preference of material? Do you use/would you like handmade stitch markers, etc.? I'd love to learn to crochet, and have a few crochet books on my BD wishlist. I've never used stitch markers, but they sound like a good idea.   Lipbalms: flavor preferences? tube/squeazything type or lip pots? I've already got tons of lip balms, but I do like them. I do have a few pots/tins, but I prefer the tube ones because I always get lip balm under my nails with the tins.   Does anyone do altered books? Would you be interested in old books to alter? Any type or title in particular? Yeah, a bit, but there's tons of junky old books here so they're very easy to find. Old (pre 1900) damaged dictionaries and science books are good though, coz I use the pages for jewellery.   Did someone ask about incense yet? Would you like some? Something to store or burn it in? What scents? What form? I've got tons of incense, thanks. Something to store it all would be lovely though!   Any oddball free things you collect or would want saved for you? Free decks of playing cards? Actually, free postcards are cool, coz I trade them with one of my friends.   is there something you'd like from the Arcana Halloween update? No idea! But I have tried an imp of Absinthe, and I kinda have an urge to collect the 'Absinthe' perfumes from every company. As of now I have none, but it's a plan!

A short one, that when wrapped once around your neck will just tuck under your jacket, or a long one, at least to your waist? skinny one, I don't like a lot of bulk around my neck but I love the aesthetic. Don't like scarves? Would a rectangular shawl or triangular shawl be more to your taste? probably a rectangular one. How do you feel about recipes? please! What kind of a cook/baker are you? See why it's only in my head? I really like the beach, and tropical islands seem nice, but I also like seasons. So I have no real idea. Specifically, which particular items?   comfortable, supportive bras in my size. Umm, possibly, pretty necklaces; necklaces with real stones and wirework, and all that shiny stuff. I went to Conjure Oils, because someone mentioned Succubus(I'm sad, I know). So, from the update: Succubus and Four-Leafed Clover sound awesome, and possibly Malocchio and Abbadon. From the GC: mimosa SN, Mercury Retrograde, Sagittarius, Anything from the Caravan section,the Light Maiden, the Shadow Queen, Earl Black, and Mabon look good.   Am I alone in this, or is there a Book Fair/Comic Con scent you're dying to get your paws on, too? I try not to pine over the exclusives. It isn't nearly as far away from me as it is from a lot of other BPALers, but I'm just not that hardcore. And I love the scents I already have, so I will leave the exclusives for someone who will really love them.   Anyone need address/phone type books? I like the worlds of Xanth, the Myth Adventures series(By Robert Lynn Aspirin), I used to like Pern, and Landover, and some Discworld(haven't read any of those in a billion years). Fantasy-related gifts sound fabulous!   Soaps : do you like them? What brands? What scents? Anything you're dying to try? I like soap. I don't use soap that has lauryl/laureth sulfates, because it makes my skin insanely unhappy. But other than that, soaps are awesome. I think I use Lush soaps the most; of which my favorites are Sandstone(so much citrusy love), Demon in the Dark, and Honey I washed the Kids(which I am not supposed to use because of aforementioned fubar:( But it smells so lovely!). My current bar of soap is Olive from BodyShop. I'm not *dying* to try anything , but Paintbox Big in Japan sounds good, and there was a carrot rosehip one somewhere on the worlds longest Etsy wishlist, and a couple from Steambath-- but I'm not sure if that is a 'hey, awesome soap' thing or a 'hey, this soap has a *key* in it!' I like keys.
