Easter Swap 2023

Only because I'm gonna lose track elsewhere.   What is your favorite Easter candy? I love those chocolate covered marshmallow eggs! I'm always buying those at the Easter clearance sales. I low-key like the Peeps, too. I love trying the different flavored ones.   Do you like Jelly Bellies?  If so what flavors?  It's been so long since I've had some jelly bellies!! I generally like the fruit ones, toasted marshmallow, and root beer! If there's a cola flavored one, I'd be all over it, too.   Do you have a preference for plastic eggs, treat bags, paper, or no preference? No preference! I'm actually gonna see if I can get some plastic eggs second hand before purchasing any...but will be on the lookout for a greener alternative. I know I have the craftiness to make some but...I don't know if I have the time, considering how work's been draining me lately.   Are you interested in some of my homemade brown sugar shortbread?   ooooh yes! Open to any of your available flavor options, no strong preference for one or another.   For those who don't like imps... In the case I find that I have something PERFECT for you in my collection that I want to share, would decanting into a squat itty bitty bottle with a screw top lid or rollerball be ideal? Imp vials don't bother me nearly as much, unless they're like the ones I see with Alphamusk (vial narrows to a neck, possibly more annoying to open without disaster than BPAL vials which are straight with no narrowing neck).   do you garden? Would you like anything like seeds? Nooooooooo I have no green thumbs here, and our soil is godawfully rocky... If it's not already there, I don't want to try to add to it. I'll live vicariously through everyone else who gardens.   Spring Chick o' Mine, I have a question about mugs! What are your general feelings on mugs/drinkware? This is brought to you by my hand painted egg mug I had received from a dear cousin several years ago...which I think would be cute to be stuffed with extra goodies because it's still an egg to stuff, right??? I am sort of picky with mugs, mostly because I prefer most of my mugs to be able to support a Vietnamese phin (standard mugs are generally good) and/or it has to be something I absolutely love (otherwise I'd have entirely too many mugs that I don't use). Also ideally dishwasher safe but not opposed to those that need a little extra care. HOWEVER, swaps are the exception to my rule - if you find something too good to pass up,  go for it! I will make a place for it in my home😘 Glassware... I'd love to eventually own at least one piece of uranium glass (glows under a blacklight and is a nod to my degree).   What are your thoughts on these? These are all so stinkin' cute!!! My soft spots are for the goldfish and hamster!   LMK if you have any aversions/sensitivities to ACTUAL rose(s).  As if someone were to send you flowers... No real issues, only excessive pollen makes me die a little.   Would you be interested in any of these baked goods? Matcha or Hojicha shortbread - I'd be open to either, but I think hojicha more. Lemon/lavender/lemon-lavender scones - lemon lavender! I think these would be my first choice. Chocolate chip scones (made with Guittard chips) - mmm i'd try these!   Would you be interested in any cute Easter/spring-themed cookie cutters? Hm. I don't usually bake or do much cookie cutting to really appreciate spring/easter shaped cutters.   Is there a spring tea (or any other tea) that you might like, chick? Any of those spring teas (except for orange blossom) sound lovely! I'm trying to find some fun decaf blends to try, so go ham. I generally like fruits and dessert flavors. True Love and Cozy sound so good (gonna bookmark this shop for myself now lol). ETA since I've been informed that there's a low caff chocolate cherry tea, holy banana THAT would be like number one for meeeee.   How do you feel about lambs as part of Easter? No strong feelings though I associate lambs with religion (hi, Roman Catholicism that I was raised in).    Do you like bees? OH BOY DO I LIKE THEM. I LOVE THEM.   Is your BPAL wishlist up to date? as up to date as I can keep it! (yes)

Easter Swap 2023

What is your favorite Easter candy? I LOVE those Lindt hazelnut chocolate carrots, really any of the Lindt Easter candies.    🐰 Do you like Jelly Bellies? YES especially the sours.    🐣 For everyone else: Do you have a preference for plastic eggs, treat bags, paper, or no preference?
If you absolutely have to send me plastic eggs, I won't be mad but my preference is something, anything that isn't plastic. I would even prefer things to be wrapped in paper honestly or even not wrapped at all nestled in grass/packing material.

I just love to try everything and imps are the best way to do that. 

🦋 Do you garden? Would you like anything like seeds? We are putting out a few more raised beds this month, and seeds would be welcome. I adore zinnias in salmons and green, and anything else you'd like to include. Planting directly into the ground preferred like a mini chocolate sunflower etc.    🦊 Spring Chick o' Mine, I have a question about mugs! What are your general feelings on mugs/drinkware? 
Ok, being super honest here. I have received many a cup over the years, and typically my husband adopts them. I drink my tea from the same ceramic tall cup every day and drink out of the same hydroflask. It's not that we don't have lots of cups and drinkware, I just only need these individual items. In other words, you can send something, but my Ran will be using it.

Lots of great ones here, but I prefer the magical themes like: Moon Cat, and Rabbit Witch. I do stick them on my purses and such.

No aversions/sensitivities to actual roses, but if I wear rose scents they are "darker" like Lady Lucille and Lorraine Cross.

I don't think I would use them....   🐧 I'm going to pre-order some spring teas (and stock up on the maple houjicha) from Friday Afternoon. Is there a spring tea (or any other tea) that you might like? Not sure if you noticed on my main questionnaire, that I ADORE teas. My faves are creamy chai's I do like the spice. I also love anything deep and dark with some sweetness. That Maple Houjicha looks exactly like something I would love. For the Spring Teas, the Goji-Mum Green, Peachy Keen, and Strawberry Snap would also be amazing.    🐹How do you feel about lambs as part of Easter? 
Yes, absolutely lambs! I would eat a choco lamb. Rabbits make me nervous. We used to have rabbit hutches in the backyard while I was growing up. They belonged to my brother but my Mom actually took care of them. Our main rabbit, every time she would have a litter, as soon as they we born, she would go crazy and murder the poor things. It was brutal.  Bees are wonderful of course. Who doesn't like bees? I've been stung a few times, the strangest place was at the nail salon under one of those UV lamps. I jumped up and started screaming and jumping. The friend I was with, jumped up with me and started screaming too lol. I've also planted a pollinators habitat this year, and our cactus get these enormous flowers that last a day and are COVERED with happy bees. Yay.

Gnome Swap

Would you like to receive Girl Scout cookies and if so, what kind is your favorite?  Thin Mints and the Lemonades   Would you like a Gnome amigurumi?  (smol knitted or crocheted gnome)  Sure!  -- if so, What gnome colors appeal to you?  (three-four colors please)  Any~ -- do any of these patterns appeal to you (I pretty much have all of them including the ones for humans but I'm not going to make a colorwork sweater for you, sorry.  I *might* make a hat or mitts if you like grey, blue, and red as shown because I already have that yarn.)  I really love the hat with the long tail on it!   How about Gnome tea towel(s)?  Yes please!   Would you like a cross stitched gnome picture / ornament?  Yes!!   What's your favorite way to experience Nature?  A hike in the woods, a day lounging on the beach, only as screen savers on your computer?  Beach time for sure!  I do also like wandering in the woods, and time on the motorcycle prowling around new areas   what kinds of safety and environmental concerns need to be considered for your gnome so they can safely reside at your home? will they live outdoors so they need to be weatherproof (for what kind of weather)? will they be indoors and need to be pet or child-safe? do they need to be very tiny or capable of hanging on a wall?  If indoors, will need to be pet safe; if outdoors, will need to be weatherproofed.   How do you feel about zombie or other horror gnomes?  Bring them on!   Do you need any seeds? If so what varieties might you be interested in? Could be an ornament? A bathroom hand towel would be cool, but not sure what to do with tea towels.  Everything else in my house is bar mops because they're either getting beaten up in the kitchen or covered in yarn/fabric dye in my workshop   Would you like a cross stitched gnome picture / ornament? sure   What's your favorite way to experience Nature?  A hike in the woods, a day lounging on the beach, only as screen savers on your computer?  I'm a hike/walk, work in the garden, visit a pretty place, occasionally scenic drive type.  If I'm outside this is good.   what kinds of safety and environmental concerns need to be considered for your gnome so they can safely reside at your home? will they live outdoors so they need to be weatherproof (for what kind of weather)? will they be indoors and need to be pet or child-safe? do they need to be very tiny or capable of hanging on a wall? no pet concerns, and would probably live indoors, possibly in my garden box so would need to deal with hot, dry, and daily watering, and then would be brought in for the winter if the gnome were an outdoor one.   How do you feel about zombie or other horror gnomes?  I think they're hilarious but I don't do halloween/zombie/creepy all year, so it would not be out most of the year   Do you need any seeds? If so what varieties might you be interested in? We like Thin Mints, Samoas/Caramel Delites, the new Adventurefuls, Smores and I really want to try the new raspberry ones.   Would you like a Gnome amigurumi?  (smol knitted or crocheted gnome)  Yes please! -- if so, What gnome colors appeal to you?  (three-four colors please) jewel tones, black, gray -- do any of these patterns appeal to you (I pretty much have all of them including the ones for humans but I'm not going to make a colorwork sweater for you, sorry.  I *might* make a hat or mitts if you like grey, blue, and red as shown because I already have that yarn.) I really like the long floppy hat one - Here we gnome again.   How about Gnome tea towel(s)? Sure!   Would you like a cross stitched gnome picture / ornament? Sure.    What's your favorite way to experience Nature?  A hike in the woods, a day lounging on the beach, only as screen savers on your computer? Wandering in the woods behind my house, kayaking, definitely love beaches and exploring bodies of water, tide pools, etc. When I think "nature" I think trees and water.   what kinds of safety and environmental concerns need to be considered for your gnome so they can safely reside at your home? will they live outdoors so they need to be weatherproof (for what kind of weather)? will they be indoors and need to be pet or child-safe? do they need to be very tiny or capable of hanging on a wall?  I am ready and willing to provide a suitable habitat for an outdoor gnome, but would also happily provide an indoor home. Sadly, I do not have a lot of wall space for a hanging gnome.   How do you feel about zombie or other horror gnomes? I'm really not into zombies, but would not be opposed to a creepy gnome.   Do you need any seeds? If so what varieties might you be interested in? Our yard is kind of vaguely controlled chaos, but we have a lot of neat sculptural things hidden about. Yes! The first or the last for sure. The coin purse not so much.    I have an angora rabbit and she's currently molting. Would you like rabbit fur for spinning, felting, or other crafty uses? This sounds lovely, but I don't really have a use for it.    Do you need any spices? There's nothing I specifically need, but I'm always interested in trying new spice blends. I could use some new curry blends specifically.    How would you feel about gnome-inspired clothing? I would feel good about it.   would you be interested in any horror movie merch? If so, do you have a favorite horror movie / character? Not really my thing. (although a scary gnome could be fun)   Haus of Gloi launched their Valentine goodies today. I definitely would get no use out of seeds. I might be able to keep an air plant or a succulent alive, but it's iffy.   Shortbread? This is my question, but yes, I would love to your version in floral or fruit flavors.      Any candles you might like? Would you like to receive Girl Scout cookies and if so, what kind is your favorite? no thanks   Would you like a Gnome amigurumi?  (smol knitted or crocheted gnome) I don't have a ton of room so as cute as this is I'd prefer a gnome that can live outside -- if so, What gnome colors appeal to you?  (three-four colors please) -- do any of these patterns appeal to you (I pretty much have all of them including the ones for humans but I'm not going to make a colorwork sweater for you, sorry.  I *might* make a hat or mitts if you like grey, blue, and red as shown because I already have that yarn.)   How about Gnome tea towel(s)? absolutely   Would you like a cross stitched gnome picture / ornament? if its small and not xmasy yes   What's your favorite way to experience Nature?  A hike in the woods, a day lounging on the beach, only as screen savers on your computer? I live in Seattle area so it rains quite a lot so any gnomes meant for outdoors need to be weatherproof. I like tiny/small gnomes and gnomes than can hang on a wall   How do you feel about zombie or other horror gnomes? No zombie or horror gnomes for me please. Would you like to receive Girl Scout cookies and if so, what kind is your favorite? Thin Mints and PB patties/tagalongs/whatever they're called where you are    Would you like a Gnome amigurumi?  (smol knitted or crocheted gnome) Sure! -- if so, What gnome colors appeal to you?  (three-four colors please) I like forest neutrals  -- do any of these patterns appeal to you (I pretty much have all of them including the ones for humans but I'm not going to make a colorwork sweater for you, sorry.  I *might* make a hat or mitts if you like grey, blue, and red as shown because I already have that yarn.) I love them all but I have a soft spot for lady gnomes    How about Gnome tea towel(s)? yes    Would you like a cross stitched gnome picture / ornament? yes   What's your favorite way to experience Nature?  A hike in the woods, a day lounging on the beach, only as screen savers on your computer? total immersion. I don't want to sit on a bench, I want to lay in the grass. I don't want to lounge on the beach, I want to be in the ocean. I'm not into "strenuous" but I am into "engaging." I look for bugs and worms and tiny fish. Would you be interested in a small copper nature totem that could nestle in your garden or amongst your plants? I believe that totems have specific spiritual meaning to the peoples who use them and would be uncomfortable with receiving a totem because that is not a part of my spiritual practice or cultural heritage unless that is part of your heritage and you are choosing to share it with me, in which case I would be honored. The one I am most proud of right now is a spiced hibiscus liqueur. I make this as a jelly, too. As far as the Liqueur, We have been making an autumn Moscow Mule with it, and the other day I made a Mai Tai! Its yummy!      No, thank you   If I can find the recipe, I want to make my grandmas Orange Slice Cake. Its a super yummy cake but a bit difficult to make as far as cutting up all the oranges.
