Pannychis

Imp #24: Pannychis   "An attendant of the Goddess Venus. She presides over nocturnal pleasure, nighttime festivities, and all the joy and delight that can be found in the darkness. In later ages, it became the name of the all-night festival that closed the Eleusinian Mysteries. Night-blooming jasmine, moonflower, cardamom, sandalwood, black currant, ylang ylang, frankincense and lily."   Note: Middle of cycle. Imp from littleone101701's sales.   In the bottle: Sandalwood takes the front with the jasmine. Not sure if I can distinguish any of the other notes.   On me: The sandalwood moves back and the jasmine and lily dominate with a spicy background from the cardamom and frankincense. I'm not sure if I can identify the moon flower, but in general I get a well blended floral scent from this.   1 hour+ later: The floral moves back some and it becomes more spicy and more balanced. Unfortunately, this doesn't have a lot of staying power on me.

Good Judy: Atomic Cheesecake

Atomic Cheesecake Category: Starlite Oasis Quantity: sample   Description: ATOMIC CHEESECAKE It’s all about the pinup. With their peek-a-boo poses and pouty lips, these blonde bombshells, buxom brunettes, and randy redheads are the ultimate art of seduction. Pure, unadulterated cheesecake, vanilla bean, vanilla musk   Review:   In the bottle: It does smell like cheesecake! I smell cream cheese and vanilla.   Wet: It’s pretty much the same as in the bottle. It’s very creamy, rich, warm, and decadent. If it’s based on a real cheesecake, I want the recipe.   Dry: I smell the vanilla musk a little better, but it’s still a lot of cream cheese. Overall, it stays true from beginning to end.   Verdict: It smells delicious! It’s like a real cheesecake, served fresh and tender; it’s only missing the berry sauce.

Notes

Just some notes on B&B stuffs that are awesome, and some that just didn't work.   Tried CocoaPink's Princess Poo and Shine Sweetie: As much as I hate to admit it, this is the best shampoo and conditioner I have ever used. It makes my hair extraordinarily soft without being greasy. Also, it didn't weigh my hair down one bit! The Vanilla Bean Noel reminds me of the Vanilla Betty Crocker cake frosting. Not too bad! Overall..... This product rules! Their So Broke Sugar Scrub is the best thing for my legs to keep away ingrown hairs and all other types of bad things. At first I wasn't liking the scent (Cactus and Honey), but it has grown on me. The scrub is sufficiently scrubby and foams slightly. The only drawbacks to Cocoapink are their spotty customer service, horrible TAT, and many of their scents fall into the "OMG I got ultra sweet sugar up my nose!"   Okay, in response to the Cocoapink review above, I took Andra's suggestion to heart and tried the Trader Joe's Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo and Conditioner. It is wonderful and leaves my hair softer yet fluffy than Cocoapink's products. The only drawback is that they only have one scent (though I believe they also carry a lavender shampoo/conditioner?). However, this is the first shampoo and conditioner that leaves my hair so nice, that I don't feel the need to blow dry my hair all the time anymore. This product is wonderful, and I hope it is never discontinued. Also, it is incredibly cheap! Less than $4 for a 16 oz. bottle each.   So, now I am trying out the Aubrey Organic shampoo and conditioner. I started out with the Primrose and Lavender Shampoo and the GPB Conditioner since the new winter environment of Wisconsin has been making my scalp peel more than normal. So itchy too! I have used their shampoo and conditioner three times now and have to comment that when they say you need to shake the product in the bottle every time before use, they mean it. I forgot once, and the shampoo was so liquidy, that it did not do my hair any favors. These products are nice, but my bleached hair tips are extremely dry and brittle after use, which I have never really encountered before using any other product. Might be the new climate or something else. I love the smell of the shampoo. It reminds me of something, but I have no idea what. This shampoo and conditioner combo does not make my hair quite as soft as the Trader Joe's shampoo and conditioner, but it is still a nice change.   Need to try Chagrin Valley again. Their Grapeseed Shea Soap worked wonders on my skin! So soft and slightly scented. Wonderful! Tried the Neem and Tea Tree soap and found that it was way too drying for my skin. Not getting that one again. The Shea Rose Clay soap was also very pleasant. Still need to try: Castile & Calendula Baby Soap, Chamomile & Calendula Soap, Chocolate Orange Twist Soap, Cornmeal & Honey Scrubby Soap, Honey Beer Soap (sounds incredibly interesting!), Honey Butter Soap, Orange Creamsicle Soap, Primrose Complexion Soap, and the Rhassoul Clay & Yogurt Complexion Soap.   As for Mad City Sue, I am in love with her Amber Embrace shower parfait. Excellent smell, and works great with a loofa. I also adore her soaps! Have only tried the Honey I Washed the Kids so far (pretty!!) and I have a Violet soap waiting to be used still. Very soft and pleasant on the skin. I am afraid that her sugar scrubs weren't really my kind of thing, but overall I adore Mad City Sue! Her Customer Service is excellent! Oh, I can't believe that I didn't mention her Shea Whip Body Butter from the beginning! It is the best thing for dry winter skin. As soon as you scoop some of this lotion out of the jar and put it on your skin, it melts into a moisturizing oil that sinks into the skin quickly and moisturizes really well. The texture in the jar doesn't remind me of whip or normal lotiony body butters, it is quite a bit harder at first, but it softens up quickly with a bit of body heat. So heavenly! Need to have a stash of this every winter.   Moonalisa   Gudoya Too   Crater Lake Company I tried their All Tressed Up and Moisture Whip Conditioner. Sadly, their products really weighed my hair down and made it greasy even though I was careful in making sure that I washed out all of the product. I like to blow dry my hair after a shower, but even after using their products for a few weeks, the blow dryer wouldn't do anything. There was not a single bit of volume to my hair. Also, it made my skin break out along the sides of my face. I would consider trying out something other than those two hair products though. Their scent list is amazing, and there are other types of shampoos/conditioners.   I am seriously loving the face stuff by Woobie Bath. I got their Fluffy Facial Cleanser, Botanical Facial Lotion, and Night Time Botanical Facial Lotion. Within the next few days I will know whether or not it is the official cure for the stubborn, horrible acne that I have suffered from for nine years now. If it does end up being my miracle cure, now I will just need to find something to repair all the scars.... Yay for hope! -Update- It definitely worked wonders!! Even when I was supposed to get my horrible "that time of the month" acne, I only had two tiny little breakouts! Of course, the minute my skin started to clear up, I stopped washing my face religiously and the breakouts were back. So, this means I have to use the stuff twice a day, or else!!   Just tried Haunt soap for the first time! I have a few bars still to try, but I decided on the Milk and Nectar first. I love the texture of the soap. Nice lather and my skin loves it! The only thing I didn't like so much about this bar in particular was the scent. It smelled like those sweet tarts candy. Not really my thing. I have the Empire soap in my shower now. It is nice as well. This one's lather is a brown color, which was slightly disconcerting at first. Was sick the first time I used it, so I have no idea how it smells. Very good! The only drawback to the Empire soap was that it stained parts of the tub brown. Be sure to wash the tub out well when using this one.   I got a few Villainess soaps for a friend, and one just happened to fall in the cart for myself.... Jai Mahal is AMAZING!! I love the soft spicyness and the soap itself is nice and cleansing/moisturizing! Jai Mahal is one of my new fav's and the boy loves it as well! I also loooove the smell of Villainess' Embargo! I also got a Villainess scented soap, but I am not sure about it. It is REALLY heavy on the leather. I'm not sure if it is one of my favorites, but I do like it in a way.   BoondockG   Okay, so the next soap on my list to try is from the Beer Soap Company. I ordered from their etsy store since there were more scent choices there, but I would suggest using the Soap Box Co. instead. It took forever for the package to arrive to me.... Anyways, on to the soap reviews. I got my boy the Wood Cashmere one. It is a nice, sweet, woodsy scent. Very pleasant. I have yet to use it in the shower though.   I have been using the facial serums from Dress Green on Etsy for a month now and have seen some amazing improvements in my skin. I had to stop using the Woobie bath facial cleanser because I started getting horrible cystic acne that was not effected by it. Anyways, I have been using Dress Green's Smoothing and Reparative Serum as both facial cleanser and moisturizer in one. It is amazing! Ever since moving to WI from CA, my face has been dryer than normal to the point of intense flakiness. Dress Green's facial serums got rid of the flakiness over night and I have only had two small breakouts since starting up with it. Also, it smells wonderful! I am definitely going to be a repeat customer!   I tried the Timeless Shampoo and Conditioners from Heaven and Earth Essentials but sadly together they weren't for me. The shampoo itself seemed to coat my hair with something and after using the conditioner, my hair was just weighed down and kind of greasy. Really weird. I did like their bar shampoo though! Substituting the timeless shampoo with the bar shampoo made things nice and soft!

Summer SW Questions 7/7

What new scents from the update are calling your name?:   A few of them sound interesting, but it's always so hard to tell what will work... Also you just made me order Berry Moon - my first Lunacy shortly following my first Inquisition.   ALL IN THE GOLDEN AFTERNOON HOW DOTH THE LITTLE CROCODILE - the cedar could very well kill it, but chocolate mint?!? IMPERIOUS TIGER-LILY 'TIS THE VOICE OF THE LOBSTER - woody = bad, but the rest of it sounds so amazing I think I must try! TWINKLE, TWINKLE LITTLE BAT   Also, tis a very good thing I read that because I think I might cry. No more Succubus? I need to go stock up!   I have easy access to Asian candies, tropical fruits(mangosteen, mango, durian, jackfruit) flavored biscuits/chips/snacks, dried tropical fruits, Japanese/korean/taiwanese cosmetics brands and music/CDs. Is there anything you will like from Singapore or Asia in general?   I'd be interested in any vegetarian-friendly Asian candies, I guess. Also loose Thai tea leaves would be awesome.   Do you play any musical instruments? Which ones? If not, are there any you'd like to learn? What styles of music do you play, and are you interested in learning any different styles?   Nope, I sing though. I always think I want to play guitar, but not enough to actually learn.   Are you partial to any kind of comedy?   I'm not generally a fan of comedy.   What did you do for the 4th and/or the holiday weekend?   I volunteered for Bumbershoot (a local arts and music festival) street team - the festival is Labor Day weekend, but we were getting the word out.   Partials, samples, sniffies?   Sure, although I prefer testable amounts since nothing smells the same on me as it does in the bottle / imp. Also since I heard the terrible news, any amount of Succubus is greatly appreciated.   Have you read anything by China Mieville, Neil Gaiman or Charles de Lint? If so, what? Like/dislike...??   I've read quite a bit of Neil Gaiman and loved it. Haven't read the other two, but I'd be willing to try.   Other than books/cds/dvds are there any "things" that you collect or symbols which you have an affinity for?   I'm a big fan of anything with stars (the 5-pointed shape) on them.   Do you like musicals? What have you seen? What do you want to see? Any you'd like to own?   Not really.   What are your thoughts on J.R.R. Tolkein?   I liked some of his stuff, but it can be a little dry.   If you answered that you would like recipes, are there any national or ethnic cuisines you prefer or don't prefer?   I love Thai, Indian, and Mexican foods. Most Asian food, actually - vegetarian of course. I'm open to pretty much anything!   What's your favorite summer activity?   Dunno... reading maybe? I'm not really a fan of hot weather.   Would you like a recipe booklet (homemade) for homemade smoothies and shakes?   Sure.   What's your favorite vacation spot?   I don't take a lot of vacations, but I did love being in Norway!   Would you like anything nostalgic? Things you loved from their childhood or maybe things you've always loved that were from a time before your own?   Nothing I can think of at the moment.

SUMMER SW ANSWERS :D

***7/6*** What new scents from the update are calling your name?: Berry Moon is almost too tempting to pass up, and I'd love to try Stinky, Twinkle Twinkly Little Bat, How Doth the Little Crocodile, and Tis the Voice of the Lobster. I've never been over there, so I'm not totally sure.... ***7/3-5*** Do you play any musical instruments? Which ones? If not, are there any you'd like to learn? What styles of music do you play, and are you interested in learning any different styles? Nope Are you partial to any kind of comedy? Some of my favorite comedy movies are The Hangover, Liar Liar, Sex Drive, and Role Models. What did you do for the 4th and/or the holiday weekend? Not near as much as I should have. Went to lunch with family, went clothes shopping with Mom and Little Sister, saw fireworks at night Partials, samples, sniffies? Yes please! I almost prefer them to the bottles because imps/partials mean I get to try more! Bottles are reserved for ultimate favorites Have you read anything by China Mieville, Neil Gaiman or Charles de Lint? If so, what? Like/dislike...?? I've read some Neil Gaiman and Charles de Lint and really enjoyed them. Good Omens is fantastic, and so is American Gods. Other than books/cds/dvds are there any "things" that you collect or symbols which you have an affinity for? Not that I can think of. Do you like musicals? What have you seen? What do you want to see? Any you'd like to own? I do enjoy musicals. I love Phantom of the Opera (the most recent one), Sweeney Todd, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Fiddler on the Roof, Chicago, My Fair Lady. I did not like Moulin Rouge, Rent or anything like that. What are your thoughts on J.R.R. Tolkein? I like his books and the movies If you answered that you would like recipes, are there any national or ethnic cuisines you prefer or don't prefer? I am not a fan of Chinese food at all, or Thai food. What's your favorite summer activity? waiting for fall I like swimming too though Would you like a recipe booklet (homemade) for homemade smoothies and shakes? Love one! What's your favorite vacation spot? I loved when we went up to New Hampshire to visit our grandparents for the summer. Would you like anything nostalgic? It was a favorite as a child, and is the last of my childhood movies that I'm missing. ***7/2*** What styles of jewelry do you like? Bold and funky? Delicate and dainty? Short necklaces, long ones, chokers? Bracelets or anklets? I'm really trying to build an actual wardrobe, complete with jewelry, so I've been looking lately! Some of my favorite types of jewelry can be seen here on my etsy wishlist HERE! Some of it is just so gorgeous! I'll be trying to buy one or two pieces that I love a month, but don't worry, I won't be purchasing until the round is over Does my witchee like hats, a floppy summer sun hat or something more stylish? Would you like a hand knit cap or hat? Knit hats or floppy hats, sure! What kind of shopper are you? Do you make a budget? Planner, or compulsive? Do you like to buy what's new, special offers, only the usual? I try not to shop unless I have the extra monies, but I do tend to shop compulsively. I try to buy things on sale cause of the whole little spending money thing. ***7/1*** Non-melting candies....what are your favorites? I like jawbreakers! Other than that most candies I like are melty. What are you happiest about (besides SW)? What makes you feel good this summer? Any summer? I'm happiest about the fact that we will be moving to Seattle this November. My favorite thing about summer is that fall is coming up next! Do you like coffee and/or wine? Nope What are your thought on World Market? Some of their stuff is rather kistchy, but some of the stuff really is nice. If you are a dog lover, or gigantic dog nerd like I am, would you like any breed-related items from this site ? If so, which breed(s)? Not really A witch wants to cheer you up. What are we cheering you up from? In other words, what are the most pressing problems you're facing right now? Most pressing problems: Getting our apartment cleaned and packed to move in with the in-laws for the months leading up to November. We've got to save every penny to get up to Seattle. Then we'll need to find a place and jobs.... And then getting used to my family no longer being just a phone call away... but mainly saving up money, and then moving to Seattle and all that entails. Who out there is equally challenged and would appreciate icons/banners as witchy gifts? I most likely would not use them Lip balm? love it ***6/30*** Have you any desire to read Hannibal? sure If your witch goes to Convergence (or is bestest friends with someone, same thing), is there anything you'd love to have? I'd like a chance to try anything from Convergence! Are you freaking out over any of the discontinued scents, dear fellow Witches? luckily no For those candy loving witchees. Are there any 3 that u love and would like more of? And, are there any 3 that u just cannot stand and would not like any of? I don't like coconut or caramel. Color me weird, but it's true. I do love me some jawbreakers though. Do you have an electric stove, and would you like a bowl and tarts to use the residual heat (and for extra safety)?no thanks What is your favorite classic fairy tale or children's story ? The original Little Mermaid, no question. None of that Disney crap. I much prefer the original versions of fairy tales, and The Little Mermaid is my fav. What of the summer update (Egyptian, Lawn Ornaments, etc.) appeals most to you? Spinning Multicolored Metallic Pinwheel sounds like it would be heaven during the summer here. I'd actually like to try Lawn Gnome and Plastic Pink Flamingo as well, but Pinwheel would be the one I'd like to try most. And non of the Egyptian blends call out to me. With all this talk of chocolate, do you prefer milk or dark? milk chocolate, no competition What's that one thing you keep meaning to get but keep forgetting or passing over? all sorts of stuff. Oh course I can't think of anything at the moment ***6/29*** Do you like coconut? Nope, I'm not a fan Puddin' posts ebay sales of older stuff every now and then - what of the current lot are you dying for? Hmm...anything on my WL if it ever goes up Do you tweet? Yes, I'm SaraSass on twitter What kind of mythology are you interested in? Greek, Norse, Egyptian, Japanese, Chinese, pretty much anything. ***6/28*** Which flavors are you interested to try from the Chocolate Research Facility? Rose with rose petals, peanut butter, Irish cream, cappuccino, cafe mocha, latte, espresso Do you wear makeup or nail polish? Need brushes, containers, storage, mani/pedi supplies? What colors and brands do you like? I do wear makeup, but don't really pay much attention to my nails. I'm very hard on my hands so nail polish doesn't hold up too long. I would not turn down brushes or storage containers. Do you like shiney hanging porch decorations like windchimes or those things that spin and swirl in the wind? alas, I do not really have a porch to decorate Hair adornments? I don't pay attention to my hair much. Just about the only hair accessory I'd be willing to wear would be headbands. Pretty ones though. Is there any infomercial product you're dying to try even though you know it probably sucks? Not that I can think of at the moment, but it's been a while since I've seen an infomercial though What are your favorite websites (besides this one, and the online shops you listed in your questionnaire)? I visit fmylife.com, pennyarcade.com, leasticoulddo.com, icanhascheezburger.com. I do a lot of stumbling online We have so many talented witches and they really need to promote themselves more so, if you made something by hand for a previous witchee or have an etsy store or some other outlet for hand made goods, will you post it here with pictures or links? Or, if you want to brag on a previous witch's talent, this is the place for that as well. well, I've been told that I make some mean baked goods, but other than that my crafting skills are nonexistant. If you could make your perfect scent (or at least most desired at the moment!) what would be in it? darn it why do you want me to get all creative?? Well, it's summer and hot here in TX, so something light and fruity or maybe some light florals. I've recently re-discovered my love for Blue Fire thanks to my scent locket. So I have a question for the witchees, and hopefully mine will answer as well...In trying to decide what to fix for dinner, I thought that I've received some great recipes from friends (particularly the culinary mastermind that is scotchgrrl). I also have a few great recipes of my own. So would anyone like to receive some original, or very much loved recipes from his/her witch? I would LOVE that! Particularly quick and easy dinner recipes or dessert recipes! List things you DO NOT need any more of: Clutter. We're starting to pack up to move, so the less clutter the better! ***6/27*** Is there something that would offend you if you received it in your mail/gift/email)? (as in profanity, a bad words in an email/card/music ... or a card or something with a scantily dressed man/woman pictured on it, crude/immature humor tshirts, etc ...) My humor is rude, crude and profane. No racial or hate e-cards though What do you like to snack on? fruit What is the color scheme you use most when you decorate? think oceans for the bedroom, forests for the living room, and fire for the kitchen If you have music or DVD's on your wishlist, do you mind getting a burned copy? How about if it is original packaging but previously used? Or do you only want it new? Do not mind at all Who is your favorite artist? What are some of your favorite pieces of their work? I love Selina Fenech. I love her art style Are you a candles person, incense person, or just a BPTP spritzer for room scents? Candles Candles Candles. I don't do incense, but we always have candles burning. What is your favorite latin or faux latiny phrase? Hmm... I'm not sure that I have one... Carpe Diem is always a good one! ***6/26*** How are you doing for BPAL storage? Need any boxes? I do have a lovely BPAL box that was made by a fellow forumite, but I am always open to more! Is there any place you've visited where you feel like you left your heart there? This one is tricky. DH and I are not loving the place we live at all right now. It's just not right for us. So we're scrimping and saving like mad people to try and get to what I'm now considering the Holy Grail of places to live, Seattle. I've never been, but DH has, and he's shown pictures, and told me all about it, and it sounds like my type of paradise. It gets cold, which I love, it's kind of close to water, it's not stupidly sunny all the time.... Even though I've never been there working so hard to be able to move there has kind of put my heart in Seattle already. Of course, Maui, where we honeymooned, or New Hampshire, where I spent summers with my grandparents, or Louisiana, where I was born and raised, all have special places in my heart as well. What one item would you just love to have that is made by a Switch Witch? Anything! The Switch Witches here are notoriously crafty and wonderfully sweet and kind-hearted, so anything made by my Switch Witch I will appreciate and love because s/he took the time make it themselves for me! Is your abode a palace covered in fur, a disaster area ,or a neat freaks delight? Yes to the first two. A super fluffy cat and bunny, and a short haired cat who sheds a particularly large amount of her fur combine to make our place almost perpetually covered in fur. It's also a messy horrible disaster area. Not for lack of us wanting to clean, which we do all the time, we just can't manage to keep it that way. Are there any phobias you have that you absolutely, positively, do NOT want anything from your witch referencing? Well, there are a few, but they are things that I would hope wouldn't be referenced in the first place I'm extremely needle phobic, as in shots and taking blood. It's a big Do Not Want on that front. Same with worms. I don't like them, they are icky and make me extremely squeamish. Are you a good witch or a bad witch? Well now I like to think of myself as a good witch! What kind of a car do you drive and would you want something you could use in your car? Rear view mirror charms, steering wheel covers (a new thinkg for the knitters ), car blessing medicine bags I drive an 06 Kia Rio. I just got rid of my old steering wheel cover cause it was so dirty and gross and I haven't had a chance to replace it yet. Something to make my car smell good would be very appreciated! Do you want to know when you have something coming in the mail, or would you rather it be a complete surprise? I would usually prefer to know so I can be on the look out, especially if it's FedEx or UPS, as they sometimes leave packages on the back door, which we never check. What is your mailbox situation? We live in an apartment complex, so a very tiny mail box. Packages though are delivered to the front office and we are left with a cheery neon pink slip in our box informing us of the packages arrival. ***6/25*** Are you interested in Tarot or Tarot art? I think the art is beautiful, but I can't see myself ever learning. What would you think of soap samples/shampoo bar samples? (I believe the latter can be used as soap if you are not shampoo bar inclined). Or other sample sized bath/beauty products, for that matter? Love it! I love bath stuff and love samples! What about burnables as in candles, tarts and/or incense? I love candles, and we burn them a whole lot and could always use more. Not so much on the tarts and incense though. Who knits? Do you also spin and dye? What supplies, that you wouldn't buy for yourself, would you just love to have for that activity? Alas, I do not knit Do you like coffee? Whole bean or ground? Bold/Medium/Mild roast? Not a coffee drinker and DH works at Starbucks for his coffee fix. So you have enough socks and wraps... (shush, VCW!) Are there any other knitted goods you might like? Lap blanket? Fingerless gloves? Arm warmers? Little knitted animals? Silk scarf? Head band? Wrist cuff? Dish clothes? I would love fingerless gloves or arm warmers! I just love that style, and hopefully if we get up to Seattle I will have more of a chance to wear them! Thin or chunky style or yarn, I'll make a perfect outfit with them! ***6/24*** Are you obsessed with honey? If so, is there a particular kind you like best? Spun honey, flavored honeys, certain types of honey....etc. I do enjoy honey, however we don't use it very often at all and I'd be afraid it would go to waste. What are your favorite materials? Or material things? Some people like jewelry, some like woods, some plants... Material wise I'm not too picky. I like a good, snuggly fabric for scarves or things like that, a light tee shirt material for well...tee shirts, and I do love the feel of satiny sheets! Is there anything you've been wanting to learn that your witch might be able to help you with? I'm really getting into baking. I love to bake, and I've decided that tiny kitchen or no, I'm gonna start! I'm currently trying to bake 1 new thing a week and just experiment around, so any light dessert recipes or cookbooks or cake decorating books or kits would be cool. Posters, yes or no? not really What are your favorite animals? Or, what animals resonate strongly with you? Cats. Big cats, domestic cats, any cat you can think of, I love it and want to learn more about it. Are there any historical figures you are particularly interested in - say, that you'd enjoy reading about, or movies, etc.? Not that I can think of at the moment. What, if anything, are you earwormed with right now? Luckily nothing! Woo hoo! Although I've had Fall Out Boy's Infinity on High CD in my car player for over a week now. What scent are you wearing right now, if any? I'm naked scent wise at the moment. Just woke up and all that. ***6/23*** Anyone reading an amazing book right now? Nope, not right now What socially respsonsible site would you recommend to ALL Witches? I would love to be able to give a good answer for this, but I usually spend my interwebs time looking at stupid stuff What is your favorite anime, or if you don't like that what is your favorite animated series? Do you like villians that are funny because they are meant to be, or are you like me and love the villian that just can't seem to get his evil schemes to work? I love Hellsing, Blood +, Mythical Detective Loki of Ragnarok, Chrono Crusade, Sailor Moon Tea. How do you feel about it? Not a tea drinker. I've tried many types, they are just not for me. would my future witchee like to receive steampunk style jewelry? Sure! Does your feline like catnip? I'm sure they would enjoy it thoroughly Salt soap bars (soap made with a large quantity of salt, like salt-scrub-in-a-bar)? You know, I have never tried a salt bar, but I would definitely be open to it! How would you feel about homemade jelly/jam from home-grown berries? We actually just got some jars of homemade jellies and jams from the in-laws, so we're pretty set for now. Homemade dill pickles? Made from cukes, beans, snap peas, baby zucchini? I actually don't like pickles ***6/22*** Based on Prior Carnivale act prototypes...which one are you truly excited about? Oh! There was one prototype, I think it was for one of the rides, that mentioned blueberry!! I'm very excited for that one! Would it bother you if you are not the first person to receive the same gift? Imagine a Witch who always sends her favourite book, for example. Not in the least! Pets: What do you have, and do they need/want anything? A tubby bunny name Franny, a fluffy kitty name Lilith, and a snuggle kitty named Rosette. They're pretty set on toys, but they do love treats/ Does anyone play video games? What platform(s)? Are there any new or vintage games you would like? I do indeed play games of the hack n slash or dungeon crawler variety. God of War, Devil May Cry, Champions of Norrath and games of that ilk. I have all of those already though, I just have to finish playing through some of them. Twilight fans, would you be interested in any products from this Etsy seller? If so, add the items you like to your Etsy favorites and make sure your wishlist is posted somewhere for your witch. No thanks Are you in need of decanting supplies, wand caps, or other scent-related paraphernalia? Right now I'm all set, thanks! ***6/20-21*** Are there any single notes (likely non bpal) that anyone is dying to have/try? Hmm... I rather prefer blends of scents to single notes net flick or the likes gift subscriptions? A month of Netflicks vs a DvD? We probably wouldn't use it Adorable Japanese characters? none in particular but I like them cause they're cute! My fiance sent me an early dvd rip of Coraline that he was given (pretty sure it's not been released yet, but I sometimes have a hard time keeping up) and I was wondering if anyone would like a copy of it? nah, I didn't have the urge to see the movie Do you collect dolls or miniatures? What kind? Do you like to get new clothes or items for them? Nope If you were to make a seasonal mix CD for this summer, what would you name it? It's too fucking hot during Texas summers and hopefully we can get the hell out of here. It would be a working title. Would you like any recycle/upcycle supplies for your crafting? I'm not really a big crafter Is there a program you might have missed or show you love which is gone from the airwaves which might be found (or burned) for you by a Witch? You know, I always love Daria, and Rocko's Modern Life Do you play any online games, like World of Warcraft? If so, what server do you play on, what's your character's name, etc.? Nope Would anyone like bath bombs or bath melts scented with one of their favorite Bpal scents? I do these for myself sometimes and find them to be quite enjoyable. Sure! Anything Metal Phoenix scented or oh! El Dia De Reyes and Pickled Imp too! Would you like homemade cinnamon buns or sticky buns? While they would be tasty, I sincerely doubt they would survive to down here. Is there anyone here that likes Hello Kitty or any other Sanrio Characters? I like Badtz Maru or whatever his name is. He is rather cute. Any non NZ or Aus witchee that I get gets Tim Tams, OK? fine by me ***6/19*** For non-US witches: is there anything from the US you'd love that you can't get where you live now? I am a US witch lol How many potential witchees have an iPod, or download MP3s? I have a Zune ***6/18*** Are there any of the BPTP bath oils you adore (particularly ones that you cannot get anymore). What about the room sprays? bath oils, not really, same with room sprays. How would you feel about an ultra-girlie shawl or wrap in summer-weight (lace)? I would love one What would you think of hand-dyed items? fine by me So, I hear you don't like lacy wraps! How do you feel about hand-knit socks? What? Who said I don't like lacy wraps? LIES! I love socks too though ***6/17*** What kinds of crafts does everyone either enjoy making or enjoy getting? Do you have a certain type of handmade item that you love to collect? Socks, boxes, jewelry, dolls etc? I enjoy baking, cause it counts as a craft! I like boxes, and would like to have more jewelry, but don't have the monies right now to go out and get any. Clearly, vegans are not into soaps with honey or milk, etc. But, if you're NOT a vegan how would you feel about soaps made with emu oil? Squicked out/concerned about animal cruelty, or willing to try them? Honestly as long as they are cruelty free I might be a little squicked out, but still willing to try them.

Summer SW Questions through 7/2

***7/1*** Non-melting candies....what are your favorites? Is there a name for those strawberry hard candies with the gel-ish centers that come in wrappers that look like strawberries? I like those. And Runts. And Gobstoppers... you know, hard candies in general are pretty nummy. Compared to other people in the SW thread, though, I fear my tastes run to the relatively mundane...   What are you happiest about (besides SW)? What makes you feel good this summer? Any summer? Sunshine. Popsicles. Watching the dogs run around outside. I love going swimming, though the opportunities to do so don't present themselves too often here in land-locked land. Summery clothes and summery drinks. Backyard cookouts. Peaches.   Do you like coffee and/or wine? I do!   What are your thought on World Market? It's pretty awesome.   If you are a dog lover, or gigantic dog nerd like I am, would you like any breed-related items from this site? If so, which breed(s)? Answered in-thread.   A witch wants to cheer you up. What are we cheering you up from? In other words, what are the most pressing problems you're facing right now? Persistent money woes, mostly in the form of debt. My [biological] family. [My family that consists of my Boy and my aminals and my beloved friends is much less stressful!] Jerks (from swaplifters -- even though I wasn't personally affected -- to the friend of my Boy's family who I've never met but is currently throwing Bible verses at me via Facebook ). Not knowing what I'm supposed to be doing with my life. Being too hard on myself.   Who out there is equally challenged and would appreciate icons/banners as witchy gifts? That'd be neat!   Lip balm? I have a lot, but wouldn't turn away more.   What's that one thing you keep meaning to get but keep forgetting or passing over? Um... er... hmm... ... ...I have little doubt that there's gotta be something, but I haven't the foggiest at the moment.     ***7/2*** What styles of jewelry do you like? Bold and funky? Delicate and dainty? Short necklaces, long ones, chokers? Bracelets or anklets? I like funky, I like bold, and I also like simple. I'm not sure "delicate and dainty" are descriptors of things I'd seek out (they certainly don't describe me! , but if the piece(s) suit me, so much the better. Short and long necklaces are both great; chokers I'm a bit more finicky/hesitant about because I can sometimes be fretful about things close around my neck. Bracelets and anklets are both great, especially during the summertime when one can show off such things.   Does my witchee like hats, a floppy summer sun hat or something more stylish? Would you like a hand knit cap or hat? I'm randomly thinking a cloche-type hat might look good on me. My head is kinda pointy, but also kinda small. In general I think I look cute in hats, but sometimes "cute" is a little too close to "aww, lookit the little girl with her daddy's hard hat on!" for my tastes. I don't wanna be cute, I wanna be a badass, goddammit!   What kind of shopper are you? Do you make a budget? Planner, or compulsive? Do you like to buy what's new, special offers, only the usual? I'm relatively easily overstimmed, so I try either to have a list or to be sure of what I'm there for. In those cases, bam I'm in, bam I've got my stuff, bam I'm out. Otherwise I tend to wander around, pondering whether I should buy this, or that, or anything at all... can I justify spending the money?... wow, that's shiny... OMG is that Richard Marx on the radio? Yak... Often I'll just pet the yarn/books/CDs and then leave without buying anything. Mostly I don't like shopping. Bah.

Yet more SW Summer 2009 questions!

What new scents from the update are calling your name?: I'm interested in trying Aperotos Eros, All in the Golden Afternoon, Twinkle Twinkle Little Bat, Brusque Violet, How Doth the Little Crocodile, Against Idleness and Mischief, 'Tis the Voice of the Lobster   I have easy access to Asian candies, tropical fruits(mangosteen, mango, durian, jackfruit) flavored biscuits/chips/snacks, dried tropical fruits, Japanese/korean/taiwanese cosmetics brands and music/CDs. Is there anything you will like from Singapore or Asia in general? Nothing in particular!     ***7/3-5*** Do you play any musical instruments? Which ones? If not, are there any you'd like to learn? What styles of music do you play, and are you interested in learning any different styles? I sing and play a bit of piano. I've had a guitar for a few years now, but kept trying to learn from one of those dumb books that has you playing Jingle Bells over and over, so I never stayed with it. I would love to have some better stuff to learn with - I need to start looking for tabs online.   Are you partial to any kind of comedy? Things I like: The State, Upright Citizens' Brigade, Eddie Izzard, Mitch Hedberg, Kids in the Hall, Monty Python, Tim and Eric Awesome Show Good Job   What did you do for the 4th and/or the holiday weekend? Went to a couple of parties, watched fireworks from atop a tower, ate lots of food, went to the bar a friend workds at to finish out the night   Partials, samples, sniffies? I think I'm missing the context of this question. These things are fine with me, if that's what is being asked!   Have you read anything by China Mieville, Neil Gaiman or Charles de Lint? If so, what? Like/dislike...?? Love Gaimain, haven't read the others.   Other than books/cds/dvds are there any "things" that you collect or symbols which you have an affinity for? I don't really collect anything, but I have a thing for birds - owls, peacocks, swallows, sparrows - and the Phoenix   Do you like musicals? What have you seen? What do you want to see? Any you'd like to own? I like some musicals. Nothing I can think of that I'd like to own. I'm looking forward to seeing Nine when it comes out in the fall.   What are your thoughts on J.R.R. Tolkein? He's cool.   If you answered that you would like recipes, are there any national or ethnic cuisines you prefer or don't prefer? I am pretty easy to please when it comes to food.   What's your favorite summer activity? Trips to The Cow - this fantastic italian ice/gelati place near my house. Sitting on my deck. Walking the dog. Going to the beach. Being outside at night and not being cold.   Would you like a recipe booklet (homemade) for homemade smoothies and shakes? Sure!   What's your favorite vacation spot? I like exploring new cities, but I also like lazing about on a tropical beach.   Would you like anything nostalgic? Things you loved from their childhood or maybe things you've always loved that were from a time before your own? I like vintage pin-up stuff.   ***7/2*** What styles of jewelry do you like? Bold and funky? Delicate and dainty? Short necklaces, long ones, chokers? Bracelets or anklets? I can't do chokers that are too tight - they make me a little uncomfortable. I think I tend more toward bold and funky than delicate and dainty, though I have all kinds of stuff. So helpful, I know.   Does my witchee like hats, a floppy summer sun hat or something more stylish? Would you like a hand knit cap or hat? I like hats!!! I have kind of a big head, though, just so you know.   What kind of shopper are you? Do you make a budget? Planner, or compulsive? Do you like to buy what's new, special offers, only the usual? I stay reasonable about stuff, but sometimes have been known to go on a bit of a rampage. Hehe.

Berry Moon update

Here's what I think.   BERRY MOON A golden summer musk with warm fig, orange blossom honey, sweet blueberries, and bright velvety crimson raspberries.   Not for me, I'm relieved to say (because I have no money to buy it anyway!). I like the sound of golden summer musk, and maybe fig, but nothing else here is my bag.   STINKY A cure for sweaty bits and sticky wilting. Stinky is a summer refresher ‘foom for people that don’t dig run-of-the-mill “clean” scents: newly-washed skin with a dusting of rice milk, white honey, and baby powder.   Hee-hee! Also not for me.....but if this wasn't inspired by little Lilith, I'll eat my hat! : )   APEROTOS EROS Unloving love: benzoin, Indian musk, massoia bark, myrrh, ambrette seed, galbanum, bergamot, and fir.   This is probably the most interesting thing on the whole update for me. Indian musk might be soapy for me, but otherwise I'm game for an imp.     WHOSO LIST TO HUNT Sensual brown musk, rich amber, English rose, oak bark, and moss.   Just not calling to me......brown musk sounds powdery, and I'm not very much into rose.   ALICE’S EVIDENCE Containing nary a neutron of meaning: rum-quince-cassis with prune and a bit of black ginger.   This could be interesting, but I'm not a huge fan of fruity scents (which seem to abound in this update!), so I'm probably safe to pass on this one.   ALL IN THE GOLDEN AFTERNOON A bizarre blend of pineapple, tangerine, tobacco, apricot, and seltzer coated with hazy amber and heady sun-baked flowers.   More fruit! I like to eat it but not wear it. Of course there are exceptions to every rule.   TWINKLE, TWINKLE LITTLE BAT A sparkly, batty little scent: green tea, melon, mint, lime rind, and champagne grape with lemon balm, mullein, and toadflax.   Again, a little too fruity for me. I really don't like melon, and probably not champagne grape either.   IMPERIOUS TIGER-LILY (Tiger-lily, ginger root, neroli, purple fruits, and frankincense.)   I actually kind of like Tiger-Lily. However, I generally steer clear of neroli, and again, there are those fruits.   SNOOTY ROSE (Red rose, oud, plum, bergamot, and red sandalwood.)   Not to be snooty, but no rose for me, thank you!   HIGH-STRUNG DAISIES (Daisy, pink carnation, pink pepper, and sugar.)   Hee hee.....the story makes me giggle.....but very much not a scent for me!   BRUSQUE VIOLET (Violet petal, violet leaf, osmanthus, orris, mint, and opoponax.)   Hmm, never really got into violet, but I wouldn't be against trying this. Maybe I'll tack on an imp when I order again.   HOW DOTH THE LITTLE CROCODILE Chocolate peppermint, mint-soaked vanilla, pistachio, oakmoss, and green cedar.   I'd be more interested, if not for the chocolate note. Sounds like a fun scent, though!   AGAINST IDLENESS AND MISCHIEF Pollen-dusted honey, diligent tonka, steadfast chamomile, and goodly hyssop.   Eh, I am really not into honey. Definitely not for me.   ‘TIS THE VOICE OF THE LOBSTER A woody, musky-weird base glooping over with blackberry preserves, a twist of mandarin, strawberry juice, pulverized watermelon, and a handful of smushed gardenia petals.   Well, I like woody, musky weirdness, but that's about it, out of all those notes!   THE SLUGGARD Pious frankincense, angelic gardenia, unsoiled pear, and staunch ho wood conflict with prickly, overgrown thistle, idle labdanum, and lethargic lavender.   This has potential, I just can't imagine what it will smell like! It might be the biggest 'wild-card' for me, in this update. Definitely worth a try.   So, overall, I'm really relieved that I'm safe from just about everything here! I was a little worried, but now I've got more time to save up for the upcoming goodies.

Summer SW Questions through 6/30

***6/28*** Which flavors are you interested to try from the Chocolate Research Facility? Pistachio and pecan from the nut series; Cinnamon, French Vanilla, or Sichuan Pepper from the Exotic Series; Lemon Peel from the fruit series; any from the alcohol series; and any from the tea series.   Do you wear makeup or nail polish? Need brushes, containers, storage, mani/pedi supplies? What colors and brands do you like? Yes, I wear make-up (on occasion) and nail polish (more frequently, especially on my toes). I seem to have misplaced my toe separators and my make-up pencil sharpener, so those are the two things I need most at present. I like nail polish that's relatively low in chemicals (e.g. the claw polish from BPTP, of which I only have one bottle: Mme Moriarty), and like a pretty wide variety of colors. For face make-up... eh, besides lip stuff and eyeliner/mascara, I so rarely wear anything that I really don't have much of an idea of what I need/want. Generally speaking, though, the more natural, the better.   Do you like shiney hanging porch decorations like windchimes or those things that spin and swirl in the wind? Oooh yes!   Hair adornments? Eh... my hair is finicky. It's really fine, and most clips and sticks and things don't stay in well. Which is a shame, because I like hair sticks on other people. But for witching purposes, I should probably say no thanks.   Is there any infomercial product you're dying to try even though you know it probably sucks? That Slap-Chop thing, or whatever it's called, promoted by the douchey Sham-Wow dude (seeing him in commercials makes me miss Billy Mays all the more...), seems pretty handy.   What are your favorite websites (besides this one, and the online shops you listed in your questionnaire)? The Hunger Site and its affiliates. Knitty. Facebook. Free Rice. Go Fug Yourself. I Can Has Cheezburger and its affiliates.   We have so many talented witches and they really need to promote themselves more so, if you made something by hand for a previous witchee or have an etsy store or some other outlet for hand made goods, will you post it here with pictures or links? Or, if you want to brag on a previous witch's talent, this is the place for that as well. I... um... huh? I bragged on my previous witch's talent in the winter I Got It thread.   If you could make your perfect scent (or at least most desired at the moment!) what would be in it? Okay, so, recently I've tried the Magical Omaha exclusive Villainess smooch Black Out, and it leaves the perfect amount of patchouli scent lingering on my skin. So I'd combine that patchouli with... I dunno. Vanilla? And frankincense and myrrh? And cloves? And then maybe a splash of Amaretto or Frangelico, and/or cherry? Something like that. Mostly I like leaving the scent concocting to Beth, 'cause I feel like even 2.5 years into this obsession I'm still learning how various scents fit together. That'd be neat!   List things you DO NOT need any more of: Cat and dog hair! I'm pretty well stocked as far as lip balm goes, but honestly, I would never actually turn down more. Ummm... same goes for incense; I don't NEED more, but certainly wouldn't turn it down (especially of the variety people have spoken about in various SW threads: Fred Soli, I think is the brand? Aha, no, I googled it; it's Fred Soll). There you are, then.     ***6/29*** Do you like coconut? Yup!   Puddin' posts ebay sales of older stuff every now and then - what of the current lot are you dying for? Any time All Souls 2006 goes up I'm tempted to buy it so I can have a back-up bottle (though I still have a good half a bottle, and that's after decanting out for my first witchee). Beyond that, I like looking, but I don't think there's been anything yet that has yelled my name (at least not something I could afford!).   Do you tweet? I have a Twitter account that is currently not particularly active, though now that I have a text-friendly phone I'm considering getting back to it. I believe my username is lizardqueen137.   What kind of mythology are you interested in? Name it, and chances are good I'm interested in it. Even made-up mythology (e.g. Lovecraftian lore) interests me. African, Egyptian, Greek, Norse, Celtic, Haitian, Aztec, Native American, Hawaiian, Japanese...     ***6/30*** Have you any desire to read Hannibal? ...is it any good? I read Red Dragon once upon a time (I was like, 13, probably too young for such things, but that's kind of the story of my life right there), and liked it, I think...   If your witch goes to Convergence (or is bestest friends with someone, same thing), is there anything you'd love to have? Dude, I'd be happy with a postcard. But of course if the special scent (scents?) seems right up my alley...   Are you freaking out over any of the discontinued scents, dear fellow Witches? Nope! (Phew!)   For those candy loving witchees. Are there any 3 that you love and would like more of? Caramels, salt water taffy, and Kinder chocolate.   And, are there any 3 that u just cannot stand and would not like any of? I do not dig raisins. That's all I can think of at the moment.   Do you have an electric stove, and would you like a bowl and tarts to use the residual heat (and for extra safety)? Yup, I have an electric stove, and that sounds like a neat idea!   What is your favorite classic fairy tale or children's story? Hmm, do I have a favorite? Oh! I like The Six Swans. Juliet Marillier wrote a version as the first book in a trilogy called Daughter of the Forest that I just loved.   What of the summer update (Egyptian, Lawn Ornaments, etc.) appeals most to you? Nothing really jumped out at me, to be honest.   With all this talk of chocolate, do you prefer milk or dark? I like both!   What's that one thing you keep meaning to get but keep forgetting or passing over? ...I forget.

Good Judy: Gravy

Gravy Category: Signature Scents Quantity: sample   Description: GRAVY Gravy is Good Judy's signature scent! This is some awesome sauce! Two warm, buttery vanillas folded into creamy cocoa butter and poured over spicy warm resins. Soft and glowing. Warm and comforting. Nice and sweet, with something a little mysterious and dark underneath.   Review:   In the bottle: I smell a mix of spiced vanilla and cocoa butter. It’s very yummy, like warm cookies or cake.   Wet: A warm and very buttery vanilla, with a note of chocolate, and some resins underneath.   Dry: It still smells like warm cake, with a resin under-note. It seems worthy of Mary Jo’s bakery.   Verdict: Gravy is very decadent, and it opens my appetite. However, it’s not as decadent as Atomic Cheesecake, but it has an interesting (or even sexy) spicy aspect.

Happy 4th of July

Writing from work again, only a short shift today and not at all my usual time of day to be here, so it's a little disorienting. I am off at 2:30pm, then I'm free until tomorrow night. I wouldn't mind going out and celebrating a little, but at the same time, I really don't have the money right now, not for another 2 weeks. Also, it's supposed to rain today, and I think I could just as easily stay home, play video games, maybe do some cleaning, maybe organize my bpal collection, etc, etc. We shall see.   Scent of the day is Bad Luck Woman Blues.....just love the moss in this, it's so wonderful.

Summer SW Questions 6/27

***6/27*** Is there something that would offend you if you received it in your mail/gift/email)? (as in profanity, a bad words in an email/card/music ... or a card or something with a scantily dressed man/woman pictured on it, crude/immature humor tshirts, etc ...) I doubt the sorts of things that would offend me would be something that anyone here would really be inclined to send me: racism, sexism, ablism, classism, homophobia, hateful stuff, etc. etc. Profanity, nudity, crudity, and immaturity don't bother me in the slightest! (Okay, immaturity can sometimes bother me when I'm dealing with a person and they're refusing to act like a grown-up in a situation where it's necessary, but that's neither here nor there, really.)   What do you like to snack on? Air-popped popcorn has been a recent favorite. Add some butter and some garlic salt, and we're good to go. I often like salty and crunchy things, probably my favorites being bagel chips and pita chips. Have recently rediscovered my love for rice krispy treats -- not the store-bought ones, which taste like they have extra stuff in them (read: preservatives), but just the straight-up rice krispies + butter + marshmallows ones. Edamame is awesome. Fruits and veggies, of course, especially berries and radishes. Cheese. Probably other stuff I'm forgetting, as always. In short, I enjoy snacking; I just try to keep it relatively healthy and/or limit the quantity. (Note that I said "try"... heh...)   What is the color scheme you use most when you decorate? What is this "decorate" of which you speak? *sigh* In my mind's eye and in the few things I've decorated with, I gravitate toward earth tones, with accents of bold colors/jewel tones.   If you have music or DVD's on your wishlist, do you mind getting a burned copy? How about if it is original packaging but previously used? Or do you only want it new? Burned and/or used are completely awesome by me!   Who is your favorite artist? What are some of your favorite pieces of their work? Off the top of my head: Been loving Mucha lately. Don't know that I have a favorite. Also like Picasso (always gotta give props to Guernica), Dalí (really like his sculptures, in particular, at least the ones I saw in Paris four years ago), O'Keeffe, Kahlo. I like the Impressionists, as well as Modern and Conceptual art. You know, basically, as long as it's not Thomas Kincade, I'm pretty happy.   Are you a candles person, incense person, or just a BPTP spritzer for room scents? Yes. I use all three, though at the moment I think I could use candles the most. On the other hand, though, I'm always game to try new incense scents...   What is your favorite latin or faux latiny phrase? Illegitimi non carborundum. I'm pretty sure it's bastardized (ha!) Latin, but... well, I guess that falls into the category of "faux Latiny," then, doesn't it?

Summer SW Questions 7/2

What styles of jewelry do you like? Bold and funky? Delicate and dainty? Short necklaces, long ones, chokers? Bracelets or anklets?   I don't wear a lot of jewelry - I can't really wear much on my hands since I'm taking gloves on and off all day and washing my hands a million times. I do wear stud earrings - I have a star theme going. I have a couple of star necklaces that I rotate through, but I usually leave them on for a few weeks so only stuff that's shower-safe.   Does my witchee like hats, a floppy summer sun hat or something more stylish? Would you like a hand knit cap or hat?   I already have a few hand knit hats, and I only wear hats when it's necessary for warmth. But if you're a knitter I wouldn't mind another!   What kind of shopper are you? Do you make a budget? Planner, or compulsive? Do you like to buy what's new, special offers, only the usual?   It depends on the price... for big purchases (basically anything over $50) I agonize and justify and contemplate for weeks. For smaller things I'm pretty chill.   Non-melting candies....what are your favorites?   Hrm... I don't actually eat much candy of the non-melting variety. I have a thing for chocolate covered raisins, but they're partially melty. I like Jelly Bellys in the coconut, watermelon, root beer, and juicy pear flavors.   Oh, a big part of this may be that many non-melty candies contain gelatin and I can't eat them. Skittles, Starburst, Junior Mints, many jelly beans, most gummies... the list goes on.   What are you happiest about (besides SW)? What makes you feel good this summer? Any summer?   Well, I'm not a huge fan of hot weather, so summer is a bit mixed for me. I'm loving my new job... I am looking forward to getting the chance to wear clothes that will show off my tattoos!   Do you like coffee and/or wine?[/b   I drink espresso beverages (like mochas and such), but not plain coffee. I don't drink wine.   What are your thoughts on World Market?   I think it's pretty fun, though I haven't bought much there in a long time. They have fun candy!   If you are a dog lover, or gigantic dog nerd like I am, would you like any breed-related items from this site? If so, which breed(s)?   No thanks, I'm a cat person.   A witch wants to cheer you up. What are we cheering you up from? In other words, what are the most pressing problems you're facing right now?   Hmm... well my life is going pretty well right now. Probably boy confusion - I think I am in a fairly constant state of boy confusion.   Who out there is equally challenged and would appreciate icons/banners as witchy gifts?   I don't need any, I don't think...   Lip balm?   I'm all stocked up, thanks!   What's that one thing you keep meaning to get but keep forgetting or passing over?   Metal Phoenix. My last witch sent me a decant and I liked it quite a bit, but I keep forgetting to look for one. Also Dorian. I love it, but I haven't ordered it yet.   Have you any desire to read Hannibal?   I have a moderate desire, so if you have a spare copy lying around I wouldn't mind it, but otherwise I can get it from the library someday.   If your witch goes to Convergence (or is bestest friends with someone, same thing), is there anything you'd love to have?   I'm not exactly sure what Convergence is, but I get the idea it is some *really cool* thing that I don't understand in my newbieness.   Are you freaking out over any of the discontinued scents, dear fellow Witches?   Well, I try not to get attached. Um... I'd like to try Strawberry Moon - it sounds pretty good, though that grass may not work.   For those candy loving witchees. Are there any 3 that u love and would like more of? And, are there any 3 that u just cannot stand and would not like any of?   3 candies? Oh, I don't know anything specific. I think my candy preferences have been stated sufficiently.   Do you have an electric stove, and would you like a bowl and tarts to use the residual heat (and for extra safety)?   No thanks.   What is your favorite classic fairy tale or children's story ?   Sleeping Beauty - spinning wheels *and* a really awesome villain!   What of the summer update (Egyptian, Lawn Ornaments, etc.) appeals most to you?   Spinning Multicolored Metallic Pinwheel sounds interesting. The Egyptian ones all seem to have wood notes or myrrh / patchouli which aren't usually good on me.   With all this talk of chocolate, do you prefer milk or dark?   Either.   Do you like coconut?   Yes! I once had a dream that my favorite brand of lip gloss, Unpetroleum, came out with a coconut flavor. Then a week or so later I was walking down the street thinking about how awesome that was when I realized it had been a dream and I was very very sad.   Puddin' posts ebay sales of older stuff every now and then - what of the current lot are you dying for?   Erm... I don't see any.   Do you tweet?   Yes, I'm stariel on Twitter. I also plurk!   What kind of mythology are you interested in?   Hmm... I'm kind of interested in Norse mythology since I speak Norwegian, but that's about it.

more SW questions

What styles of jewelry do you like? Bold and funky? Delicate and dainty? Short necklaces, long ones, chokers? Bracelets or anklets? Delicate and dainty rather than chunky and bold. But either is still good from my Witch!   Does my witchee like hats, a floppy summer sun hat or something more stylish? Would you like a hand knit cap or hat? Australians all let us wear hats, the summer sun is hot! I never say no to a floppy summer sun hat. Don’t worry about being stylish - I can get a hat like that in any old shop!   What kind of shopper are you? Do you make a budget? Planner, or compulsive? Do you like to buy what's new, special offers, only the usual? Compulsive, mostly, although when I’m trying to be more organised, I make a budget.   Non-melting candies....what are your favorites? Someone I swapped with sent me a pack of Willy Wonka Nerds. Those were delish - I haven’t had them in years! But, yeah, fruit jellies most of the time - really anything fruity.   What are you happiest about (besides SW)? What makes you feel good this summer? Any summer? For me, summer is the end of the year, Christmas, holidays, warm weather, and a growing garden - having summer in the middle of the year seems so strange to me! And, frankly, I’d be glad to be rid of this cold I’m presently down with.   Do you like coffee and/or wine? Yes and yes. But I wouldn’t advise my Witch to send me any - the postage would be ridiculous. I’d love to send my Witchee a bottle of Australian red or white, but, again, ridiculous postage.   What are your thought on World Market? Uh, what’s World Market?   If you are a dog lover, or gigantic dog nerd like I am, would you like any breed-related items from this site? If so, which breed(s)? Alas! Cat person right here...   A witch wants to cheer you up. What are we cheering you up from? In other words, what are the most pressing problems you're facing right now? Cold and flu, with accompanying exhaustion and despair.   Who out there is equally challenged and would appreciate icons/banners as witchy gifts? No, but I can make icons/banners as witchy gifts...   Have you read anything by China Mieville, Neil Gaiman or Charles de Lint? If so, what? Like/dislike...?? Nope. Nothing at all! Therefore no opinions at all.

more SW Randomness

I would love a subscription to a writing mag, like Writers Digest, or Poets and Writers, or even Writers Market Online. I would also love a subscription to a travel magazine; I love Europe and especially the UK.   I am writing addict, so journals of all types are awesome. Lined or blank.   I collect Marilyn Merlots with my wine stuffs.   I also love Christopher Marlowe and Tennyson.   I'm desperately in need of Pitch Cards to decorate my CD teabox with...   Cigar boxes are great for imp/bottle boxes.

Random SW Help

OK, I've created a wishlist on Amazon. Holy crap, that's crazy fun! I'll probably update every day for the rest of my life; thanks enablers!   I love Elizabeth I and everything related to medieval and renaissance kingship. Own many books by Alison Weir.   My history thesis is on the dance of death and the ars moriendi, or medieval death manuals.   Have you visited my Myspace page? I should update pics of my tattoos.   I guess you have to contact me via alternate emails or ecards, so that's cool...being a sneaky witch is hard business!   I love Flight of the Conchords and the BBC version of the Office.   I have, as of an hour ago, updated my Wishlist of Imps/Bottles in my sig.       Hugs to you, my witch!

More Summer SW questions!

Non-melting candies....what are your favorites? I like all kinds of hard candies, and would be interested in trying some more "unusual" flavors.   What are you happiest about (besides SW)? What makes you feel good this summer? Any summer? I love walking down the street in the city when it's not too too hot, and there's a bit of a breeze, and the sun is shining - there are so many adorable dogs around here, and it makes me smile to pass all of these pugs and other cuties happily walking with their people.   Do you like coffee and/or wine? Yes!   What are your thought on World Market? I did it.   If you are a dog lover, or gigantic dog nerd like I am, would you like any breed-related items from this site? If so, which breed(s)? My dog is a mutt! But I love corgis and pugs.   A witch wants to cheer you up. What are we cheering you up from? In other words, what are the most pressing problems you're facing right now? Huge life-transition kind of thing starting up right now. It's a long story. But I'm okay.   Who out there is equally challenged and would appreciate icons/banners as witchy gifts? I don't have need for them at the moment.   Lip balm? YES. But you know this already.   What's that one thing you keep meaning to get but keep forgetting or passing over? It's going to sound stupid, but I want to try those Yogatoes things. Haha!   ***6/30*** Have you any desire to read Hannibal? Already have!   If your witch goes to Convergence (or is bestest friends with someone, same thing), is there anything you'd love to have? I have so not even explored the possibilities of this. I would probably squee with delight at anything.   Are you freaking out over any of the discontinued scents, dear fellow Witches? Nope, thankfully!   For those candy loving witchees. Are there any 3 that u love and would like more of? I love caramels and dark chocolate, but now is not the time of year for them! I'm actually not a big candy eater.   And, are there any 3 that u just cannot stand and would not like any of? Circus peanuts!   Do you have an electric stove, and would you like a bowl and tarts to use the residual heat (and for extra safety)? Sure!   What is your favorite classic fairy tale or children's story ? The Little Prince is my favorite children's story - he's tattooed on my back.   What of the summer update (Egyptian, Lawn Ornaments, etc.) appeals most to you? Lawn Gnome! And I already bought The Feast for the Greatly Revered Ones. Yum!   With all this talk of chocolate, do you prefer milk or dark? DARK   ***6/29*** Do you like coconut? YES   Puddin' posts ebay sales of older stuff every now and then - what of the current lot are you dying for? Looks like there isn't anything up at the moment!   Do you tweet? Nope!   What kind of mythology are you interested in? All sorts - I'd like to get beyond the Greek and Roman that I am more familiar with.   ***6/28*** Which flavors are you interested to try from the Chocolate Research Facility? Crap, I can't find the link now! I like dark chocolate with anything in it, milk chocolate to a lesser degree, and can't stand white chocolate.   Do you wear makeup or nail polish? Need brushes, containers, storage, mani/pedi supplies? What colors and brands do you like? I should really not acquire any more makeup. Nail polish would be fine - some bright, fun colors!   Do you like shiney hanging porch decorations like windchimes or those things that spin and swirl in the wind? Oh yes!   Hair adornments? I like feathers and crazy burlesquey stuff - headbands with tulle and flowers and whatnot. Simple stuff is good, too. I've been growing my hair for a while now - for the longest time it was very short, so it's fun to play with it again!   Is there any infomercial product you're dying to try even though you know it probably sucks? I don't really have TV, so I don't know what's out there right now!   What are your favorite websites (besides this one, and the online shops you listed in your questionnaire)? Dinosaur Comics, Superpoop, Married to the Sea, Consumerist, Jezebel, PostSecret   If you could make your perfect scent (or at least most desired at the moment!) what would be in it? Since it's summer, I'll go with the only floral I love - violet. Maybe with something very green for this time of year! Absolutely!   List things you DO NOT need any more of: As previously stated, I should be shot on the spot if seen buying any more makeup.   ***6/27*** Is there something that would offend you if you received it in your mail/gift/email)? (as in profanity, a bad words in an email/card/music ... or a card or something with a scantily dressed man/woman pictured on it, crude/immature humor tshirts, etc ...) Not at all.   What do you like to snack on? Nuts. (stifles 12-year-old-esque giggle)   What is the color scheme you use most when you decorate? Green, gray, orange, purple   If you have music or DVD's on your wishlist, do you mind getting a burned copy? How about if it is original packaging but previously used? Or do you only want it new? Used and burned is fine with me!!   Are you a candles person, incense person, or just a BPTP spritzer for room scents? All of them!   What is your favorite latin or faux latiny phrase? Don't have one!   ***6/26*** How are you doing for BPAL storage? Need any boxes? Could use some good imp storage, for sure! My cigar box is getting crowded and should probably just be for bottles at this point!   Is there any place you've visited where you feel like you left your heart there? Anywhere near the sea.   What one item would you just love to have that is made by a Switch Witch? I would love ANYTHING made by a Witch.   Is your abode a palace covered in fur, a disaster area ,or a neat freaks delight? There are definitely cat-hair tumbleweeds. Clean but cluttered.   Are there any phobias you have that you absolutely, positively, do NOT want anything from your witch referencing? Nope.   Are you a good witch or a bad witch?   What kind of a car do you drive and would you want something you could use in your car? Rear view mirror charms, steering wheel covers (a new thinkg for the knitters ), car blessing medicine bags All of those sound great - I drive a Saturn Vue.   Do you want to know when you have something coming in the mail, or would you rather it be a complete surprise? Either!   What is your mailbox situation? Small locked mailbox grouped with others, and a covered porch for packages - mailman walks them right up!   ***6/25*** Are you interested in Tarot or Tarot art? Definitely!   What would you think of soap samples/shampoo bar samples? (I believe the latter can be used as soap if you are not shampoo bar inclined). Or other sample sized bath/beauty products, for that matter? Fine by me!   What about burnables as in candles, tarts and/or incense? Oh yes!
