Would you like anything from Future Primitive? (It's fine to mention OOS things) https://futureprimitivesoap.co.uk/ I've never tried any of it - feel free to introduce me to something new! Thenwhipped soaps look particularly interesting.   Does anyone have a favorite horror movie that they love? Need a copy/DVD of? We mostly do the streaming thing, these days - small flat means limited storage space.   Do you like smallish knitted stuff (hats, fingerless mittens, scarves, toys, etc. -- be specific!)? Generally not hats. Anything else, sure!   Do any of these knitted items appeal to you? Easy Fingerless Mittens - sure! Pfeilraupe Asymmetrical Scarf - very pretty, but not really my thing Odyssey Shawl - yes! Close to You scarf - yes! Rikke Slouch Hat - if it were a particularly light yarn, maybe? I'm almost always hot and hats make it so much worse. Simple Yet Effective Cowl - sure! Knitted Pumpkins - sure! Little Bear Stuffy - sure!   How do you feel about thrift store finds (assuming they're in good condition and have been thoroughly cleaned before shipping)? 100% okay.   9/20/19 I may have bought several full size Rituel de Fille makeup items in a frenzy over their whole vibe. If I tested something once or twice (and it can be sanitized), would you be interested?  Eh, sure. I like trying new things!   Are you interested in trying different skincare products from higher end, clean brands? Sure!   Any interest in anything from Torrid, noting their "fangirl" and Halloween collections are updated?  Yes, but I'm an employee. Stationary, bento supplies, a particular snack, etc. The fall flavors for kitkats this year are Chestnut, Sweet Potato and Apple Pie. Starbucks mugs! Fancy mustards, everything bagel seasoning, black or white teas ... IDK what else. We're Aldi people, here.   Also, are there any particular sustainable kitchen or household items you would love to receive? Crocheted/knitted dish cloths and scrubbers - I make them for others, but never get around to doing them for myself.   9/23/19 Did anything catch your eye from the Liliths? They all sound really good - ideally, I'd have a decent of each. Same for the Fatherhoods, and Impeachments.   Would you like anything from Lush? General Goddessrobyn Gifting Guidelines (and some suggestions):
PLEASE do not feel limited by this list... I will love whatever you send... really... I'm just thrilled to get mail!
I don't really shop much except when I need something (or when I'm up late and stupid stoned and buy random shit on Amazon I don't remember until it gets delivered)...so when I say I  ANYTHING I really mean it... BUT... if you need some concrete, traditional ideas or a direction to go into... here it is:

I don't take baths; I'm strictly a shower gal... my usual go to is Dr. Bronner's Liquid Soap in either peppermint or lavender I also shave daily... I'm really into Public Goods shaving cream but I also love to shave with bar soap so if you have a favorite bar of soap feel free to enable me. I've found that for shaving natural soaps which use clay are EXCELLENT so bonus if your favorite brand makes a "clay" version. I do NOT really wash/condition/style my hair, ever so products to do so are lost on me. I DO braid my hair a bunch (its super long) so some decent hair elastics are always a great gift. TARTS!!!! I have several tart burners in my house and can always use more tarts... My favorite brand at the moment is The Rustic House and my fave flavors are Red Currant, White Tea + Ginger, and Signature Scent, but I'd be happy with any of their scents. Dark Candles Tarts are AWESOME as well. Faves include: Nag Champa, Nosferatu, Dracula, Coffin, Patchouli**, etc... Would love to try Corpse**, Ice Queen, Graveyard, Amber Velvet, Exorcism, Apparition, Absinthe...   COFFEE!!! I make my own cold brew so I go through several POUNDS of coarse ground coffee each month. I will ALWAYS love a bag of coarse ground coffee... (I have a fancy schmancy coffee grinder too... so whole beans are amazing as well)

MAKEUP I don't wear much makeup... daily look is Urban Decay Perversion liner (usually the pen version but haven't been able to replace mine for a bit so currently using the regular pencil version), some sort of eyeshadow, and black mascara... no powder, blush, foundation, etc.
I LOVE MAC... especially their brushes and I'm trying to work on a good brush collection. I do really like Bare Minerals Buxom lip gloss - I like Dolly and Alice but will try anything once! Trixie and Stella are also on my must have list. I definitely could use some good lipgloss of any kind. I love false eyelashes... the more outrageous and drag queen-esque the better... I LOVE lotions, especially pure/ semi-pure shea butter lotions/ creams. I love anklets, bracelet and earrings and other funky jewelry. Some assholes kicked in my door last year and stole EVERYTHING so I literally only have 3 necklaces and about 4 bracelets to my name... *sad* (note: this was a couple years ago... but I still have barely replaced my jewelry...)

I spend most of my days in cowboy boots so socks are a great gift. I really like funky socks - both thin ones made for running/ hiking in and crazy patterned knee hi and OTK socks - but my favorites are Pride Socks, World's Softest Socks in black or green and SockDreams Military Boot Socks in Black and Olive. I wear a Women's size 10-11 in shoes so... size accordingly

I also LOVE cute panties that say funny things on them (but I realize that for some of you that may be totally weird to buy for a stranger... but... if it's NOT totally weird for you, lemme know and I'll send style and size info if you want to take that route) I collect dragonflies (not real ones...), skulls, bones, "wet" specimens, and framed/mounted bugs and insects (yes, real ones)...

I also collect Dia de los Muertos stuff... my living room/kitchen looks like a giant alter...

I love pirates, ninjas, and strange yet adorable stuffed animals (think biggerCritters, UglyDolls, giant microbes etc), "cute" zombie things, tattoo art, basically, anything out of the ordinary...   OH!... I love magnets, too. my refrigerator is covered in them...   If you want to see all the random particulars of things I like, I have an Etsy and an Amazon wishlist.   I have a cat and 2 snakes, and a tiny little cotton ball of a dog who we have named Biscuits (on instagram as @whitefluffybiscuits)... the cat (Maia... aka Smush) does play with toys and eat kitty treats; the snakes (Fluffy and Kai) don't play with anything and only eat live rats so... probably best not to send gifts for them.   IF you want to send clothing here are two things you should know: if it's not black I probably won't wear it. if it's a t shirt I will cut it up before I wear it.

I could definitely use a hat... especially one that I could pull pigtails (as opposed to ONE pony tail) through... I have hella long hair... If I tested something once or twice (and it can be sanitized), would you be interested?  I own zero makeup. I do not know how to apply makeup that is not theater makeup or moulage. They HAVE to be for sensitive skin and cannot contain any non natural sulfates. Harsh soap stuff makes me have eczema. I am open however. I enjoy most black teas, a lot of herbal teas but few very fruity teas unless they are intended to be drank cold. I enjoy dessert style teas. Not overly fond of green tea and do not understand matcha at all.   I make light-weight hairfalls, doll-style, using a variety of fun stuff, like ribbons, lace and soft batting. Some swapping misc help!

Okay....here's some lemmings of mine!   Chocolate:  milk, *dark milk*, dark, with almonds/hazlenuts, plain...yep, it's all good! I don't like white chocolate, or fruit (esp dislike raisins). I love caramels. I like crispies - but, I don't like much of the Cadbury European chocolate range....go figure! However, I love love love Ritter Sport milk chocolate with whole hazlenuts, and milk chocolate butter biscuits. I also just adore fudge....yummm....chocolate, chocolate walnut and peanut butter. I like Peanut M&M's, Snickers, Peppermint Patties....it's pretty much all good. I got treated with chocolates from www.burdickchocolate.com and I'm in love - especially with their mice and penguins! I've had and adore Vosges Barcelona Bar and Goji Bar, but the others don't do much for me, like I thought they might. I like Godiva, and adore Ghiradelli. Lindt makes a sea salt dark chocolate bar that is the bomb, as well as milk chocolate sea salt truffles. Tim Tams are for the win, and I prefer a liquidy caramel to a chewy one. Did I mention I like chocolate?? If you live near a Trader Joe's, I am seriously addicted to their dark chocolate coated nutty bites as well as their chocolate covered butterscotch caramels!  I adore them, and my nearest TJ's is a 90 minute drive away!! I can also use a South African spice grinder as mine is all.  I love their different spice grinders!  My favorite non-chocolate candies are Smarties, Sweettarts, Spree, Pixie Stix and Swedish red fish. I don't chew gum.   I'm a knitter, and I'm absolutely in love with this! I can always use yarn, especially the 100% cotton yarn like sugar n' cream, stitch markers, needle protectors..... For knitting I need 6/0 beads, preferably with an iridescent shine to them....   Books - I love books. I read pretty much anything in print. My wishlist on Paperbackswap.com is always updated, and I'd love to receive credits there - I'm 'deazinn' there as well - and pretty much everywhere on the web I also adore music - haven't started an Itunes wishlist yet, but I'll get there - in the meantime, I've listed some music/book/dvd wants on Amazon - link is in my signature.   Agatha Blois Carnival Wax = I absolutely and totally adore 1965 and will devour any amount...   I really like Wyrding Studio's hammered copper/bronze shawl pins I have many of Alicia's (E&A) pieces favorited in Etsy. I am currently in love with the leggings/tunic trend.....I would be in a medium *size 10* in leggings, and Walmart has some fleece lined ones right now in the Halloween and Fall prints pretty cheap! In tunics, I need a 1X or 2X, depending - I have a 40C bust and don't like skin tight tops.   I love candles! Etailers are really welcome here...I've never ordered from any but Dark Candles. Love some of their scents, others are meh. I love Yankee Candles. I have tart warmers, and tarts are most welcome. I'd really love some unscented tarts, so I can mix oils into them. In the spring, I go citrusy and seaside scents. In the fall/winter I go apples and spices, strong evergreen/balsam, and creamy oatmeal and honey scents.   Yankee Candle had a candle called Merry Marshmallow which was a vanilla sugar and marshmallow scent that I adored and would love to have tarts and/or candles in that scent if you can find some!!  The Yankee ones are d/c but I've found some that are close........I also need a small pack, like 6, of unscented tea lights for my tea warmer.    I adore Calvin and Hobbes, and have all of those books - tho' not the really expensive leather bound editions which contain all of the comics. I'd love to have a C&H mug or Tshirt, but they're hard to come by. I also love Karen from Will and Grace, watch Sex and the City - I am SO a Samantha, and adore Friends. I watch a lot of medical dramas, and would love some way to watch all the seasons of Code Black without having to subscribe to the stupid CBS pay per view. I own Season 1 of Veronica Mars, and Season 2 or 3 would be great! I also need Season 2 of Dollhouse.......   I love tea, and drink a lot of it. All types, Red, Green, Black, herbal, you name it I'll drink it! Right now I am big time craving hibiscus tea, love the stuff in summer.  I don't like anything with a licorace/anise taste (or smell) or Earl Grey/bergamot, but I do love fruits and cinnamon flavors. Got Golden Moon's Vanilla Mint loose tea and I LOVE it! Other personal favorites are Stash's Christmas Eve, and Celestial Seasoning's Nutcracker Sweet, and Candy Cane Lane. I do have quite a bit of tea right now. We also have a Keurig, so K-cups of any flavor are most welcome as well! I'd also welcome a large pottery tea pot, my largest one is only good for 2 ish cups.  If you can pick up an electric teakettle somewhere that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, I've wanted one for a while now and can't quite convince the hubs we need one, he says the Keurig is good enough.....um, no?   I can also use well insulated tea caddys, one for my small Boden (I'll edit this with the oz size) and for any tea pot you may send along!!

Bath bombs are okay too, I love Hi Ho Silver but am open to others as well. Any of the shower gels/jellies/slimes would be great (except for the Naked shower gel, not into that format), but my favorites of the currently-available ones are The Olive Branch and Rose Jam. For facial products Coalface is a pretty safe bet because my husband and I both use it. I currently use D'Fluff for shaving but would be interested in trying their other shaving products. I will reiterate that I can definitely use bar soap (preference to ones that are somewhat local to my Witch, in scents/with ingredients my Witch thinks I'd like), and also enjoy sheet masks (the single-use packaged face masks that are available everywhere these days). And I know I mentioned my love for nail polish and went into specifics about that as well.   Also what kind of treats, snacks, foods, condiments, bulk items, teas, housewares from the same natural food stores would you love? Also, are there any particular sustainable kitchen or household items you would love to receive? I know I was pretty comprehensive about this stuff too in my original questionnaire. The only specific beloved snacks I can think of that I didn't explicitly mention in my questionnaire are dark chocolate covered blueberries (we usually buy containers of these at Trader Joe's, but just found out they are also available in the bulk section of my local grocery store), and the stuff that's usually sold as "Giant Peruvian Inca Corn" or similar. It's another thing that we usually buy at Trader Joe's (I think they call it "Inka Corn?") but I have also seen a similar product at Whole Foods. It is sort of like the classic gas station snack, Corn Nuts, but the corn is even bigger and usually just has salt instead of whatever weird flavorings that are usually on corn nuts. Hmm... if you have access to curry paste (red or green) that is NOT Thai Kitchen brand, that'd be cool... I can only get that brand easily, and it's a pale imitation at best of real curry paste. Bulk items: if you have access to nutritional yeast as a powder rather than flakes, that'd be cool... even the health food stores here seem to only have it in flake form these days, and I prefer it as powder because I put it on popcorn before popping (yes, I know I could just whirl the flakes in my spice grinder or food chopper, but that's an extra step). Finally, I do need a new flexible silicon spoon and silicon spatula for cooking/baking, but I'm pretty picky... for the spoon I like a slightly angled bowl (I hope that's what the wide part of a spoon is called, anyway) rather than totally straight, and for both I'd like the handles to not be humongous because they'd be going into a holder with various other implements. Hope that helps! (I may give some more thought to spices later, or may ask or wait for a Penzey's question, I haven't decided yet. Love World Market. I always buy a bunch of ridiculous snax there, but also enjoy some of their decorative and kitchen items. Use your judgement but I could easily do a shopping spree there, and I have a hard time buying less than $50 of stuff every time I go. I can't think of any particular items and brands other than Clearly Canadian and New York Seltzer, but I understand that you may want to get something less heavy than those since we're talking about items to be mailed.

I do order my Indian food, etc., medium spicy, and enjoy eating plenty of salsa of various spice levels when I eat/cook Mexican food and such, but I don't enjoy eating stuff like hot wings or jalapeno potato chips or whatever, and generally only use Sriracha, Tabasco, etc. as recipe ingredients rather than adding them to finished dishes to up the spice level.    10/1: Also here to sing the praises of Greenwoodtree's penuche....   So for the boozy question, another one that I answered thoroughly in my original questionnaire. So yes, anything from hard cider to straight whiskey is cool with me, and ditto to the unusual variations. I/my household don't drink much though, like sometimes it takes us a month to go through a six-pack of beer or several years to go through a bottle of rum. I don’t mean, like, salted nuts or potato chips. I mean straight-up salt, like alder-smoked finishing salt or Hana Flake sea salt.  I do buy fancy salt from time to time, but I'm not really interested in flavored salt (smoked, spicy, etc.), and have a big bag of flake style sea salt already that I use for topping baked goods and such, so I'm not sure if I really need any right now....   About utilitarian needs or whatever, I know I've already mentioned some (like hand soap and some cooking utensils and such), so I should be covered there....   10/7 So I thought of another thing that'd possibly fit in the spices/utilitarian area: vanilla bean paste. The snack section of my local vegan grocery stores is my food danger zone!  Gummies, basic chips (corn or potato doesn't matter.  I'm just not super into flavored chips), chocolate, caramel, crackers...  Yeesh, what don't I like?  Seaweed, edamame, and fake meats.  That's what I steer away from!   10/2/19   Nail Polish: Do you need or want some?  If so, what colors and brands are you interested in?  Indie nail polish is my current obsession!  I'm particularly drawn to flakies right now, but I also love multichromes and holos.  Oh!  And magnetics.  Thermals are neat, too, although I'm trying to limit my acquisition of those to one a month since they will stop transitioning after a certain too-short amount of time.  Color-wise, I wear just about anything other than pinks and nudes, and I'm especially drawn to non-traditional colors, like olive and mustard.  Think '70s Tupperware or grunge.  As far as specific brands/shades, I'm coveting anything from the Bee's Knees or Don Deeva AHS collections, anything form the Lemming Lacquer Chilling Adventures of Sabrina collection, the Night Owl Marauder's Map duo, or Nine Zero's Singer Auto Salvage.   Does anyone else do nail wraps? Are you interested in anything from Art Of Tea or Adagio Teas? Yes! I am low on the tea front these days, all varieties. I have an Adagio wishlist (in blog), but am not brand loyal. I'm all over the place for styles, though  mostly do black, green, herbal, and blends (not so much into rooibos/red, or many white teas). I like both classic whole leaf green varietals, but also things like "chocolate mint" (in green or black tea), or fruity/floral (pomegranate rose was a fav a few years ago), or chai-like or spicy for fall/winter - not a huge fan of bergamot or earl grey though.  
I make light-weight hairfalls, doll-style, using a variety of fun stuff, like ribbons, lace and soft batting. Would you be interested in receiving a set in the colors of your choosing? I'm a member of the AWA (American Wine Association) and I also love ciders, whisky, tequila, and various liquors. Midori is a huge favorite. Also I love Sake! For wine I prefer whites and roses as I can actually finish a bottle on my own. I tend to lean to the dryer end but every so often I love something a bit more sweet. I do like sweeter reds but while I enjoy a dryer red with dinner I can never finish a bottle before it goes bad so I feel bad buying my own and generally just drink some of my parents if they have a bottle open. With Sake I really like nigori sake. Also I adore various sparkling sakes. I've tried many varieties of sakes however and have so far liked them all. Oh and for the more obscure, Jelly Sake! It has little jelly pieces in it and is super fun to drink. Also I like Lambics! I only buy them occasionally since they're on the pricier side but they're a big favorite. 13 Nights of Halloween 2019 Questions and Answers

for those who mentioned Yes to handmade items; what sort of knitted gifts would you love to receive? ie, socks, mittens, hat, cowl etc?  Socks would be fun, or maybe something decorative rather than wearable.    Witch Baby Soap, a favorite of mine, just dropped their Halloween line! Is there anything there you'd like?  Hmmm, the Hekate face soap looks very nice.  Maybe that or one of the bath bombs in Hallowmas or Dead Man's Party?  Or if we stray out of the Halloween section and into the main catalog, a Dragon's Blood or maybe Black Mass bath bomb?   Ive been feeling very autumny, and I stumbled across this artist, Camille Chew, on society6...  she has such beautiful Halloween prints! Anyone know of any other autumn/spooky artists?  Oh, I like her Lunar Pattern: Blue Moon and Lunar Pattern: Eclipse designs!  Of the other artists mentioned, the stuff at https://www.eyeris.eu/ really isn't to my taste; I do like the Abigail Larson stuff (especially Asleep in the Library and Storytime with Goblins for my library; The Cats of Ulthar; The Pumpkin Patch; and oh, gosh, that Ghosts! floor pillow! - wish I had a good space for it!); I also like some of the Iren Horrors designs; SophiaRapata's work is not my style; and how did I not know that Aurelio Voltaire had this shop until doomsday_disco mentioned it?!?  Sadly, most of his designs there are kind of leaving me uninspired, but I do like Halloween Moon!  Not really for purposes of this swap because most of her stuff is pricey, but just as a general mention in case people want to check her out for themselves, local-to-me artist Nina Friday has some Halloween-y designs at https://www.etsy.com/shop/ninafriday.  I've had her Batty and Bloodflowers design on my Etsy favorites list since I saw her work at the Ann Arbor Art Fair, and I like Departure also, but sadly her work is a bit out of my comfortable price range.

Would you be interested in any candles, wax melts, lip balms, or jewelry from Sihaya and Company? The Ember & Mallow sorbetto scrub or candle or the Gingerbread Wonderland soap or sorbetto scrub.  Her jewelry is very pretty, but I don't see anything that I like better than the two pieces of hers that I already have: a labradorite necklace I got for myself and a gorgeous Edgar Allan Poe necklace that was a gift from my wonderful Witch greylen in my very first Switch Witch round!   Anything you'd love from Haus of Gloi? I do like their bubbling scrub - I'm not really familiar with Haus of Gloi, but I was gifted a Moon Dog one during another SW round by the fabulous Jenjin, and I really liked the texture of it.  I see they also have bath bombs (a Moon Dog one would be neat!) and powder.  The only scent of theirs I know is Moon Dog, but if you're a fan of Haus of Gloi, I'm open to surprises based on what you think I might like!
 
Do you like stuff related to Dia de los Muertos/Day of the Dead? I do have a few things (a sugar skull I made, a ceramic sugar skull also from Jenjin), but it's not a holiday I celebrate, so I think I'm good with just the couple of little treasures I already have.   How do you feel about homemade edibles? Do you have a preference for a kind? I.E. cookies, jams, etc, or something savory? As someone who never cooks and rarely bakes (and doesn't really enjoy it when I do), I'm ecstatic to get homemade edibles.  My preferences run towards the sweet - chocolate fudge, homemade marshmallows, buckeyes, and all kinds of cookies (preferably without any nuts).  I'm not opposed to jam, but I rarely use it, and I generally stick to flavors like cherry or mulberry when I do.  Savory snacks aren't really my thing.   would you like to receive something either Pagan or Vodou in nature?  I think something like a charm to protect my home would be very nice, or a candle for a general purpose like good luck or something, with specific instructions for use.  I'm not religious, so anything more in depth or involved would probably be wasted on me.  (No disrespect to anyone's religious practices, but my understanding is that some Vodou paths include animal sacrifice, so like whoahorsey said, please nothing with dead animal parts.)   For those of you that appreciate wax melts, are you interested in anything from Zeep's Halloween update (dropping Friday the 13th) or Willow Waxcraft's Falloween update (already released)?  I don't really use wax melts anymore.   Is there anything you would particularly like from Japan? Shower oils?  Solid soap bars, definitely.  I have a slew of shower gels already, and I almost never use them.   Do you own a bath tub and would you like to receive bath products?  I do own a bath tub, and I'd be fine with receiving bath products.  That being said, I HATE cleaning the bath tub, so I'm not a fan of any really messy products, like something really oily or colored in a way that will likely leave a stain until I scrub it off.   What are your feelings about tee turtle tshirts? Any favorites?  I LOVE Tee Turtle!  They're at least a third of my total shirt wardrobe.  I just took advantage of their recent sale to place a fairly large order a few days ago, in fact.  Still, there were some things that I reluctantly dropped back out of my shopping cart to get my total cost down to a more manageable level before checking out, so I do still have a mental wishlist going.  I totally want the new Spooky Monsters shirt that they released after I placed my order (of course), and I still want the Death Is Magic, Halloween Knight, Haunted Storybook, Trash Panda, Tails of Fire and Ice, and Yin Yang Kitsune shirts.  (I get the Men's XL shirts.  I like to be able to layer a long sleeve shirt underneath the tees so that I can continue to wear them through the winter.)   I might have seen a wallet I think that suits you, but also suits the halloween theme. Would you like to receive a wallet at all?  I don't know that I'd really use another wallet.  Most of the time I just keep wallet-type contents in a pocket of my purse or in a small zippered bag with a red and black spiderweb design, so I kind of already have the Halloween theme going with that.  I also have a shiny green monster coin purse, so I'm not lacking for Halloween-appropriate wallet-y things.   Are there any BPAL’s you’re wishing to get your hands on?  I have some on my wishlist, but nothing recent.  I think I've generally bought anything I thought I would really like and not want to miss out on, but if I run across something I'm missed that looks good, I'll update.   Would you like a box to hold BPAL or other small items?  What size box?  Imps, a few bottles, a lot of bottles?  I do like boxes, but because of that I do also already have quite a lot of them in various sizes, so smaller would probably be better.  Also, I have a large box that I made in a woodworking class that's just waiting for me to do a final sand and stain or varnish before I can move quite a lot of my bottles into it, so it'd probably be better to get a small one rather than another large one.  Maybe for imps or just a few bottles or some other misc. small trinkets.   Is there a specific type of socks you prefer?  Wool, cotton, etc.?  No-show, ankle, crew, knee, thigh-high?  Crew or ankle height are best.  I really love bamboo socks, but I also really love socks with cute designs, which unfortunately generally aren't bamboo, so as long as they're cute, I don't worry about the material.  Design-wise, I can't resist Hello Kitty or Halloween designs (especially with bats!), and I'm always on the lookout for just the right Loch Ness monster/sea monster or octopus or squid or kraken socks.  Some basic black or other dark colors of bamboo socks would also be fantastic, though.     Is there any oddball small thing you need or want but haven't gotten around to buying for yourself?   Nothing comes to mind right at the moment, but I'll think on it and update if anything pops up in my brain!   Do you listen to any podcasts?  Not really.  I did listen to the 10 episode podcast The Case of Charles Dexter Ward a few months ago and enjoyed it, though.  More recently I've been listening just to individual stories, like Crispin Freeman reading Poe's The Cask of Amontillado as well as various other Poe stories read by William Control, Vincent Price, or Basil Rathbone.   Do you have any favorite Halloween or scary movies?  I always watch The Raven with Vincent Price, Peter Lorre, Boris Karloff, and Hazel Court.  It's silly, but I love it.  Around Halloween is when I dig out the old Roger Corman-directed Poe-based movies with Vincent Price, and the old Universal monster movies, especially Bela Lugosi's Dracula.  I love all those old movies with Vincent Price, Bela Lugosi, Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, etc.  Warlock with Julian Sands and Richard E. Grant is always worth another viewing, too.  This year, I've been kind of thinking I might want to re-visit that old 80's movie The Bride starring Sting and Jennifer Beals.  I haven't seen that in decades, and I just stumbled across a listing for the DVD on Amazon a month or so ago and it's been sort of sticking in my head ever since.   I'm always in the mood to watch scary movies around Halloween, but somehow I just never seem to get out to the theater to see them.   Are there any crystals or stuff like that, that really resonates with you? I wouldn't say any really resonate with me; I'm not at all sensitive to that kind of thing.  I do have a preference for certain stones, though : garnets (my birthstone); labradorite; calcite, tiger's eye, goldstone, and hematite seem to be the stones to which I'm most drawn.   Do you drink loose leaf tea? If not, would you be up for drinking loose leaf tea if you had an infuser? I do drink loose leaf tea.  I tend to drink bagged tea most often just because it's quicker and more convenient, but I do have an infuser and also fillable tea bags to use with loose leaf tea, so I can and do drink it on occasion.   What type of books do you like to read? Is there any type of book you'd really like to have more of? GOOD JUDY: Fruit Judy

Bottle, given.   In the sample: Soft, very fruity and sweeter. I can't figure out which fruit(s) has been used.   Wet, on me: Exotic fruits, with added sugar. It smells like a dessert.   Later: It smells like artificial food flavourings or a Juicy Fruit, but it's actually quite funny. It's a fun one to have for Summer.   Worth keeping? Yes.

Free sample, given.   In the sample: Mostly floral, no exotic fruit. I'm a bit disappointed.   Wet, on me: Intense cheap floral stench, still no fruit.   Later: It's soft, like commercial soap. It disappears quickly, but it's a good thing because what remains is better and sweeter.   Worth keeping? No.

Spring Cleaning Swap 2019 - Questions/Answers

Loose Tea: sure   Laptop Sleeve: no thanks   Vinyl: no thanks   Office supplies: I'm good (hoping to destash mostly)   Knitting:  No thanks

Hellboy samples: testable sniffies of just about anything within the past 2 years is always welcome, I've been very behind on my BPAL as of late.  Specifically, if it was possible, a testable sample of the beard oil for the Sith would be nice.

Decorative bowls/plates/chopsticks:  I could always use a pair of pretty chopsticks, but not small bowls/plates currently.  (for some bizarre reason, sis only ever runs off with *1* single chopstick, and she never uses the ugly/disposable ones, she always grabs my pretty sakura/floral ones, so now I've gone from having 5 complete very pretty sets to 3 random chopsticks. 😠 

Mugs: I am swimming in them, thanks, I don't need more

Make-up: I have a ton, but especially if it's colorful/sparkly, I am almost always interested in new playful make-up (mostly eyes/lips)

chapstick: eh, I've got a lot, and unless someone's getting rid of some old Haunt lip lusts (I lost all mine!) or Haus of Gloi's fruity ones, I tend to have enough to have one in the pocket of every coat I own (and I hoard coats/jackets).

I am currently reading: The Name of the Rose... slowly... and Second Nature, at the office, so also very slowly. 

Movies: I don't get to see many movies in the theaters (SOOO expensive!) but I did see The Spiderverse. It was fun, but no attachment to it. (The honest last was "Biggest Little Farm" documentary screening (was free), I did love that!)

Looking Forward To:  Right now I am mostly looking forward to my upcoming vacation. May 14th - June 3rd I'll be bopping around South America (Bogota Colombia, Peru (Choquequiero and Machu Picchu), and then to Galapagos Islands)

Cookies: I have been having SUCH a craving for GOOD homemade peanut butter cookies lately!    Nail polish? I have so very much, unless it's something really different or a total glitter-bomb, probably not.    I will be pruning both of my bay laurel bushes and will dry the leaves for culinary use (stews, casseroles, roasts, Mediterranean recipes). I will have A  LOT, so could you use any? Absolutely!    Do you mind makeup palettes that have been very lightly tested? (Definitely nothing lip related as that's just not hygienic!) I don't mind, but I'm generally not a fan of makeup palettes - generally there's 1 or 2 I like, and the rest I ignore, it feels wasteful, so I tend to never get them.    Vintage glass items? - weakness!  I have very little space for things like this, but I am a sucker for old glass, especially old glass vials/bottles, etc. The smaller or weirder the better!    And yes, can vouch for neptuneanblues baking!    NEW:  I always ask - does anyone want/need/can use any type of loose crystals, minerals, or gemstones (I'm always destashing from my Izile's Oddities' jewelry days)? I've got a few raw, but mostly polished and/or cut, all sorts. So very .. very.. many..    And for myself, I'm moving more towards raw/uncut/unpolished specimens (mostly for altar or curio use), and I will always rehome strange raw crystals.    Do you have strong feelings about receiving a book from a series that is not the first one in that series? Does it matter to you whether each book can function on its own despite some backward reference? - Unless it's a book in the middle or further down the line in a series I've already begun (a la Discworld), this might make me twitch. I still largely avoid fiction series due to fear of never getting to the end (author dies, just doesn't publish it, it goes out of print...)  Books in a series I'm already invested in (even if it's not "next") are totally welcome!

Men's cologne - oh no thank you!   Comic books: I do like comics, but it can be SOOO expensive to keep up with them I don't often buy them (except for I've bought the trade for Pretty Deadly 1&2, and I had trades of Fables 1,2,3(4?) from a swap and enjoyed that line, I used to collect JTHM and all spin-offs, as well as Poison Elves (I've tended to like small-batch weird comics over Marvel/DC (with Gaiman being an obvious exception), oh, and I'm currently working through Warren Ellis (I would take almost anything from Warren Ellis, honestly, whether I've heard of it or not).

Spring Cleaning 2019!

Updated 4/19/19 Noon   I have A LOT of different types of loose leaf tea.  Would you be happy with some samples decanted into new, sealable bags? Sure thing - I tend to prefer flavored tea to just straight black/green/white, but otherwise, I'm always happy to sample new things!   How about a new laptop/tablet sleeve? It's new and fits up to 11.6" laptops/tablets. No thanks.    Or some vintage vinyl (for the music or for home decoration)?  I really really want to say yes to this, but I know I shouldn't because a) I don't even think I have a working turntable and b) I know I don't have available wall space. So, reluctant no.    Do you need any office-type stuff?  Pens, post its, binder clips, clip board would all be used!   Knitted washcloths, shawl, scarves, etc... I have an actual pressing need for scrubby kitchen washcloths. A shawl in jewel tones, or black and teal or something like that would not go amiss.   Hellboy decants? Honestly, I haven't even looked and I really should. I will try to get my wishlist updated ASAP.    Would you like small decorative bowls or plates? I have a lot of japanese trinkets and small plateware. Most of it is not dishwasher/microwave safe however. Also do you like chopsticks? I would prefer nothing that is purely decorative, to be honest. I am already hurting for wall and shelf and cabinet space. Fun chopsticks would be cool. Or usable fancy cups and saucers.    Mugs? Regular/Travel/Etc. Please no. My cabinets are already exploding with mugs. I do actually have a need for travel mugs for my morning coffee, but ONLY WITHOUT HANDLES. Not sure why I'm weird about that, but no travel mugs with handles please. Hopefully my Dustpan will feel differently.   If you said you don't really wear makeup, does that mean you hate it and will never wear it or you just don't have it around, but you'd maybe have some fun playing with a good palette if you had one at hand? I think I covered this pretty thoroughly in my original questionnaire, but I actively do not want more palettes or big collections.    Chapstick-like lip balm (unused) - yay or nay? I am pretty set in this arena right now.    What book are you reading right now?  On my Kindle, I'm reading "How Long 'Til Black Future Month", a short story collection from N.K. Jemison. In physical books, I'm reading volume 1 of "Pretty Deadly".    What is the last movie you saw in the theater? Did you like it? Captain Marvel - I loved it. Almost as importantly, so did my 8 year old.   What is one thing you are really looking forward to? My best friend from college is getting married in May and we are using it as an excuse for a get away for my husband and I. Otherwise, planning our summer vacation to San Diego, but that is a long way off.    What is your favorite type of cookie? My own homemade chocolate chip or chewy frosted sugar cookies.    What about nail polish? What types of polish do you like? What colors? Any particular type of nail art? Honestly, I tend to forget a lot of the details that authors pull over between books anyway. If it the kind of series where the narrative picks up hours after the last book and dives into part two of a cliffhanger, I'll probably pass.    - Anyone into men's cologne (non-bpal, think nice department store or designer brands)?   I beg of you please DO NOT send me any non-BPAL perfume. So, er, no thank you!   - Do you like comic books, and, if so, what types? Yes! I go into this pretty extensively in my book info posts. I tend to prefer graphic novels to individual issues because I'm really bad about tracking down the latter, but I love comics as a method of storytelling and would be perfectly happy to have individual issues if that's what you have. On point - I just finished the first volume of Pretty Deadly, just started the second of Y the Last Man and am anxiously awaiting Monstress vol 4 and Bitch Planet vol 3.
