I ordered decants of the lab stuff I'm interested in. I'll pass on all of the BPTP perfumes - they look too sweet for me.   What's a new company to you that you most want to try a product from or what would be a new product to you that you most want to try (make-up, perfume, or bath/body)? Hmm, I don't know. Maybe Moonalisa? Everyone raves about that stuff.   If you like necklaces, what are some symbols or images that you would love to have a necklace depict? (ex. spiders, skulls, hearts...?) I have lots of examples of necklace styles I like in my etsy favorites. I'm not so big on iconography in necklaces, but maybe a bird?   Lip balm - tube or tin? No thanks, really. People give that stuff to me all the time, and I don't use it often.   Would you like to receive a journal or sketchbook? How about other pretty paper goods like post-its, notepads, bookmarks, letter paper/envelopes? Post-its, note cards and little notepads would be much appreciated! I write notes to myself all the time at work and at home.   Are you interested in audiobooks? If so, any specific titles? No thanks.   Bar soaps with some scrubby bits, yes or no? I can't do bar soaps much.   Do you need any small electronic gadgets like flash drives and the like? hmmm. A small laser pointer would not be amiss.   Would you like a pair of knitted socks? Sure!   Do you have any use for knitted dishcloths, facecloths, etc, especially if they were fandom related? (perfume, eco/"green," skin care, hair, music downloads, cosmetics, soap...) I did Birchbox for a little while - it was fun and I found some stuff that I love. Nope.   People ask a lot of questions about dogs and cats, but I know a lot of forumites have rodent pets. How would you feel about hammocks or toys for your rats/hamsters/gerbils/etc.? Awww! No rodent pets in my house though.   My Little Pony... Cute or meh? No thanks - loved it when I was a kid, not into it now.   I realize that we had a similar question in the ?aire, but I need you Witchee-s to list at least 5 items, each ranging $20 and under from Amazon.com or Walmart.com. 1. fun pushpins 2. pretty much any book from my amazon wish list 3. soap dish 4. picture frames with mattes for 5x7 photographs (4 of them) for some pictures for my office at work 5. something to organize all of my computer cords   My new job is at a consignment store where we have all kinds of designer brands for very reasonable prices. Are there designer clothes/purses/sunglasses that you desire/love? (Give some indication as to your "style" as well. For example, do you like bohemian-style frocks in lavender? Crossbody purses in black? Sunglasses that are round and bug-like?) I love love love purses. I most frequently use clutch/wristlets or purse with long straps that can be worn cross body. I've killed the muscles in my shoulders hauling around heavy bags with short straps so the shorter strap bags start to bother me. I love wristlets or little armpit purses for going out though! The only thing I absolutely do not like is branded prints (i.e. the coach bags that have coach written all over them, or the LV printed vuitton bags). But otherwise, almost anything goes! I like things in neutrals and fun prints and colors.   Are there any existing Weenies that you have your eye on, but haven't gotten around to getting? I have been a paid member at flickr for a long time - user name is lissaphoto1. I am an LJ user, but I don't want to pay them as I haven't been that happy with the service lately!   A question, witchees: if you are into tarot, what is your favorite card? I have never done tarot. If my witch wanted to get me some kind of starter set that told me how it all works, I'd be into that.   And another question: would you like your own set of handmade rune stones or worry stones? That is cool, but probably not something I'd use.   Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cider, or none of the above? All of the above (except tea)! For coffee, I do not like fruit flavored or nut flavored blends. All else is a-okay. I have a traditionally coffee maker, no K-cups. I do have a grinder, so beans are fine for me. Shawls, wraps, and the like? I love it - however, my mother is a serious lace knitter and I have several lace knit scarves and wraps, as well as lace knit gauntlets. I do really, really like it thought.   Looking at the warehouse, I notice that our lovely Greenwoodtree is able to do chart readings and/or forecasts at a very reasonable rate. Is this something you would want? One of my previous, most fabulous witches, gifted this to me already!   Songs that you keep meaning to buy but never get round to it? If I want it, I generally buy it. BUT! I welcome new music! For the first time in 1998, I own a car. It has a CD player in it - it does not read mp3s, it does not hook up to my ipod. Dear witch, all of my mix CDs are from 2003 or earlier as they pre-date my first ipod. So, if you want to help me in the music department, I would so appreciate that! Also need something that is easy to get CDs in and out of in the car. Right now, I keep them in the visor and then when I put the visor down, CDs tumble upon me making me swerve and curse at other drivers. And myself. I love big red and dry white wines. Favorite red are cabernets from California and favorite white is Sancerre (which is basically a drier sauvingnon blanc). I like all kinds of scents, but prefer soy candles whenever possible. In the fall, I especially like baking kinds of scents.   Marzipan? Yes, in moderation.   Would you be interested in washable/reusable muslin “paper” towels (basically muslin squares hemmed around the edge)? Maybe in some sort of box to put on your kitchen or bathroom counter? Definitely! I absolutely do drink alcohol, Michigan is generous with their alcohol shipping laws and I'd happily sample some infused vodkas or any other alcoholic beverage you might want to send my way.   If you get me (or a fellow Aussie, if there are any playing this round) as a witch or witch's minion, would you like to try some Australian specialties, such as TimTams (delicious chocolately cookies), Caramello Koalas (koala shaped chocolates filled with gloopy caramel), Australian native spices or anything like that? TIMTAMS NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM. I LOVE them. LOVE.   If your witch is a knitter, crocheter or sewer, is there a particular type of garment you would love to receive (hat, scarf, wrap, cowl, socks, fingerless gloves, arm warmers etc)? Hats! I only have one. Fingerless gloves are great too.   Is there anyone else in your house (kids, pets, partner) that would really appreciate a small gift being included for them in the switchwitchy haul so they don't feel left out? The kittehs always love their gifts. I think arlith made me a bunch of cat toys once and they love those toys more than any other toy in the world!   Since it's been mentioned several times, and I've also offered to nacho witch some, would you you like to receive wild rice and or maple syrup? I promise to include recipe ideas with the wild rice. Definitely.   I have 5 bushels of tomatoes sitting in the kitchen right now that are supposed to turn into red sauce tomorrow, so would anyone like a basic red sauce (spaghetti sauce) to make its way to them? Switch Witch 2012 Stalk Fodder

Howdy, Witch o' mine! Here are a few links that may help you better stalk me. Everything is completely updated, though I may continue to add to them throughout the round, as I send my wishlists to my parents for gift ideas too. But PLEASE do not feel obligated to purchase anything from any of these lists; I only hope they might give you a glimpse into my eclectic tastes.   I'll keep a log of all my in-thread answers here too in case you don't have time to read dozens of pages each day. I'm trying to think of franchises I've seen through TeeFury recently: Breaking Bad, Battlestar Galactica, Back to the Future, Dr. Horrible, Calvin and Hobbes, Mass Effect, Walking Dead, Arrested Development, and Buffy are the big ones, but I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting at the moment. I'm a women's small in their shirts.   Do you like candles, or tart burners, or something? If so, what's your favorite scent to burn? Yes to both! I love vanilla-based and foodie scents (like buttercream and cupcakes) and autumn scents as well - apples, woods, leaves, spices, and the like. Yankee's Autumn Wreath and Soft Blanket, Woodwick's Applewood, Bakery Cupcake, and Harvest Blessings are some of my favorites, but I never turn down a good candle or tart, regardless of brand. I just bought candles from Target (no brand name IIRC) in Autumn Harvest, Exotic Woods, and Silver Birch; those are beautiful too. In short - candles and wax tarts = win.   Would you be interested in washable/reusable muslin “paper” towels (basically muslin squares hemmed around the edge)? Maybe in some sort of box to put on your kitchen or bathroom counter? Oh, that would be perfect! I'm slowly making the transition to paperless in the kitchen, so this would be right up my alley and greatly appreciated!   Marzipan? Not a fan, sorry.   Do you drink alcohol and if so, would you be OK with your witch sending you homemade infused vodka? Also, does your state allow alcohol to be shipped through the mail? I love craft beer, but I'm afraid I can no longer handle hard liquor. My college days beat that right out of me. I really don't know whether it's legal or not to ship alcohol to Florida, but it's not worth the trouble IMO.   If you get me (or a fellow Aussie, if there are any playing this round) as a witch or witch's minion, would you like to try some Australian specialties, such as TimTams (delicious chocolately cookies), Caramello Koalas (koala shaped chocolates filled with gloopy caramel), Australian native spices or anything like that? Yes to all the Aussie things!!! I LOVE TimTams and Koalas, and I remember this chicken-flavored snack that I ate a lot when I was visiting back in 2001, but I can't recall what they were, exactly. Not chips, maybe more like crunchy stick-like things? But anyway, anything Australian or insert your nationality here!) would be fantastic.   If your witch is a knitter, crocheter or sewer, is there a particular type of garment you would love to receive (hat, scarf, wrap, cowl, socks, fingerless gloves, arm warmers etc)? It's never cold enough to receive hats and gloves, but I would cherish some homemade socks or arm/leg warmers! I am a sewer myself, so if you have any patterns (current or vintage) that are gathering dust, send 'em my way!   Is there anyone else in your house (kids, pets, partner) that would really appreciate a small gift being included for them in the switchwitchy haul so they don't feel left out? Yes, please!   Some of your favorite artists? Classic and modern? I wish I knew more about art history than I do; I like art nouveau, art deco, impressionism, romanticism... most other things too. Art speaks to me, I just don't know the language. I love Frida Kahlo and Bruegel's "Fall of Icarus," more specifically. I really like Lichtenstein and Edward Gorey too. I can't tell you how great something like this would be! Ouija, The Apothecary, Carnal, and Snake Oil - I still don't have a bottle of SO for aging! Mouse Circus and Norman are on the short list too, but since those are special issue I should probably leave them off.   Nail Polishes? Oh yes! Brights, metallics, glitters - you name it! I'm also looking for a black glittery/holographic solid base color. I'm not a fan of pepper jelly, but anything else would be nice!   Do you have any Fall or Halloween traditions? Do we?!! We have a party every year and I decorate to the hilt! Lots of colored lights and garlands; light-up pumpkins and silly Halloween stuff - we don't really do scary. Zombies and the girl from The Ring terrify me to the core, so I like to keep it pretty light, but there isn't a corner of the house that doesn't get decorated. We dress up and make our own costumes, too, and spend all day of Devil's Night (the 30th) carving pumpkins and preparing goodies for our party. BTW (you know, in case you care, heh) - the best way I've found to carve intricate jack-o-lanterns is to use a seam ripper to transfer the pattern and use an X-acto knife to carve. Oh, and be sure to rub Vaseline over the carved areas when you're done so the design stays moist and intact as long as possible. We watch our favorite scary/seasonal movies every year too - Hocus Pocus; Halloween; The Lost Boys; The Shining; The Nightmare Before Christmas; It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown; Carrie; Christine; Creepshow; Something Wicked This Way Comes; all of the Simpsons' Treehouses of Horror; Beetlejuice, Corpse Bride, Scream; Psycho; Sleepy Hollow... you get the idea. That thing is so neat! I really enjoy lighting my candles, and the cats stay far away from them, so I wouldn't really need it. Still, a fantastic idea!   Do you lust after some new socks/tights? I can never have enough socks! I love the cheapies from Target; they don't last very long, but for a dollar, who cares? I used to love wearing tights, but I don't have much use for them anymore since it's always hot here. Coffee is always appreciated in our house; I generally prefer the taste of whole bean, but I buy ground sometimes too because I've found that flavored coffees often aren't available in some of the more obscure flavors. I don't like fruit-flavored coffee, but hazelnut-, vanilla-, and chocolate-based flavors are good. I run the gamut on regular coffee too - I like lighter breakfast blends and super dark roasts too.   Would a Starbucks gift card make you happy or do you prefer your local place? The only Starbucks nearby is inside our local Target, and to be honest, I hate the way they brew their coffee. I buy their whole beans occasionally, but I'm always disappointed. So no, please no Starbucks coffee. If you do have a card you're not using though, I do love their mugs and biscotti, so it would not go wasted.   On the subject of pottery: YES, PLEASE!!! We never have enough coffee mugs (and I love those oversized ones). Any colors you have on hand would be fine, but I'm partial to blues, yellows, purples, and black. I've already mentioned my preferences for coffee and tea, and any hot chocolate and apple cider is fine by me.   Gum, hard candy, soft candy, or none of the above? I don't care much for gum or hard candy (though I love butterscotch candies), but I like soft candy, like soft caramel chews, Starburst, Twizzlers (not black licorice, just the cherry/strawberry/generic red!), and the like. Generally, though, I always go for chocolate, and Cadbury Dairy Milk is always my first choice. I like my share of salty snacks too.   Loose tea or tea bags? Do you need anything for your loose tea? (Filters, presses, etc.) I use tea bags, but only because I have nothing to put loose tea in. I much prefer loose tea, but I have never bothered to get an infuser. Whenever I do buy loose tea, I just drink around it. I would love an infuser or whatnot to put my loose tea in, however, if you know of a good, reasonably priced one!

my sw 2012 questions and answers

Do you like s'mores and s'mores-flavored things? not particularly. marshmallows around here either get roasted and eaten just like that, or made into rice crispy treats, or occasionally ambrosia salad.   What's the neatest freebie you've gotten? It can be cool or thoughtful or just totally unexpected, and not limited to BPALdom. I have forumites who are pen pals or just friends who have sent things just because. Two of the most memorable are a knit-a-wombat kit (this is why I will learn to knit), and a pair of beautiful earrings that showed up as a congratulations gift because I'd been squeeing about how many gigs my troupe's gotten this fall. Even though I do that kind of thing for people too, I'm consistently blown away by the kindness and generosity of people.   Would you enjoy receiving cute but useful items like colorful kitchen utensils/gadgets, or bento supplies? (boxes, chopsticks, accessories, etc?) What about things like spice mixes (homemade, or Penzey's for example) I'll edit this later. Spices are generally welcome, I love to cook. (just not a big fan of things with fennel or anise in them--I only like licorice in licorice) As far as gadgets, I have to think about this. I could always use another tea ball. When I joined BPAL.org, I already knew the Lab was in the habit of tossing in a few freebies (as I learned later: "frimps"), but it was when I started swapping and buying on the forum that I was blown away by one particular transaction: the seller sent me a double handful of imps, plus stickers and tea and candy. I couldn't believe it: all that goodness in a package and it wasn't a business, it was just a lovely person. I decided right then to pattern my own outgoing packages on that one - so to all my recipients, you have Andra to thank for it!

S'mores? YES!!!!! I love toasty marshmallows. Yum!   Neatest freebie I've ever received? I was swapping with Betsy and I received three frimps right off my wish list including Liz which she is searching for more decants/bottles of. I am so thankful that she was willing to give me a sample of a scent that she was looking for. It was so thoughtful   Would you enjoy receiving cute but useful items like colorful kitchen utensils/gadgets, or bento supplies? (boxes, chopsticks, accessories, etc?) What about things like spice mixes (homemade, or Penzey's for example) I have a lot of kitchen gadgets already, but they are pretty cool. So I don't know if I need anymore gadgets (there's not much room left in the kitchen). As for spices - we are gluten free (well I'm not but my dad has celiac and we make dinner as a family) and it is difficult to find stuff that we are guarenteed to work. I don't want to make any extra work for a switch witch by making the gluten free thing a huge deal so it is probably safer to say no spices, but yes to small interesting kitchen gadgets.   Do you like cute, seasonal or fluffy PJ bottoms? Like they sell at Target, Old Navy (they have had cute Halloween ones!) If so, what size do you wear? I love pj bottoms!!!!! I have relatively large hips and thighs and tend to move around a lot when sleeping/lounging so if they are too small I tend to rip them I'm now about a 10/12 in terms of sizing - at least for bottoms. I've gained some weight due to a knee injury last November that still isn't healed and I'm waiting a referral to a surgeon, but I'm trying to lose some but it's hard when I can't physically be active as I used to be.   What kind of chocolate do you like? Most of my favourites are LEs anyway, but I would like to get a bottle of Dana O'Shee, just in case. I should probably get a bottle of Kitsune-Tsuki too.   What three hard to find scents would you love to try? Buck Moon, Leo (2007), Katrina Von Tassel   Is there a lunacy shirt you would like to have? *flail* WOLF MOON! I would likely need a large. I might fit a medium though, their size chart confuses me.   Do you like sample sized things? Yes! I rarely make it through regular sized products.   Gift cards? A-OK! I have some suggestions in my amazon wish list, but you can't go wrong with Chapters or Shoppers Drug Mart.   Gently used items? A-OK!   E-books? The only thing I have to watch out for is MSG (monosodium glutamate) which tends to be in processed snacks and meat products. I adore chocolate. The darker the better. With stuff in it or plain. I crochet, so I don't have much need for knitted things, except for socks! I won't turn down knitted socks! I make amigurumi, so patterns would be awesome! I have enough yarn right now to knit myself a second house, though having more is tempting...   Plushies/Dolls? No thanks. I barely have enough room for my handful of stuffies.   Knick-knacks? We hates them.   Nail Polish? I started painting my toe nails last summer! I'm not big on sparkles or Franken polish. I usually stick to flat colours or sheers.   Lip Gloss/Balm/Stick? I normally wear a clear balm, but I'm open to trying other things. I prefer sticks to tins because I hate digging it out of a tin. Tints and flavours are fun to try.   Shower Gel? Nope.   Piercings and related jewelry? I do NOT have my ears pierced like most ladies, and I don't plan on ever having my lobes done, so no earrings. I have my ear cartilage pierced though and I do like cuffs!   Do you like to dress up? Yes. Who would have ever guessed there's a girl under there? Turns out I do like dressing up, even if my dressing up is sort of off the wall. I love boots and skirts and jackets and hats. Maybe that's why I love fall so much?   Would you like to receive a Handbag/purse? *shuffles towards bag like zombie* Bag. BAAAAAAAAAAG!   Do you enjoy outdoor activities and exercise? I sure do although I have not done much lately. I love camping, hiking and swimming.   Gardening? Oh yes. This season has seen me grow a variety of vegetables in containers. Who knew Kale was so hardy? I also have a fascination for "black" varieties of flowers. The season is kind of over, but seeds are ok as long as they are still good until next year.   Significant animals/symbols? There are many! I have five significant totem type animals: dragon (which can manifest as dragonflies), salamander, deer (doe), wolf and falcon. I like trees in general but cherry blossom trees and yews have been significant symbols for me, particularly the ogham for yew. I also enjoy learning about obscure mythological creatures.   Candles, incense and other smelly goodies? I like candles and incense. In fact I'd love to make my own incense. I make my own loose smudge, but if I could get a binder that works, I'd be happy to try and make my own sticks or cones. I don't really use tarts or oils or other melty stuff, even though I have a burner.   Do you like rocks/crystals/gems? Oh wait, I forgot, I'm also a rock nerd. No really, I studied geology in school a long time ago! I like rocks, minerals and fossils! I prefer naturally occurring minerals and crystals, but polished (lapidary) stones are ok too. I collect different varieties of pink minerals (I have plenty of rose quartz).   Would you like herbs or "witchy" things? Interesting question, I'm not sure about mailing organic stuff like herbs, so I'll pass. I'm good. I tend to make my own things or find them or grow them. I would like to get a good cauldron/charcoal burner though.   Tarot? What's your favourite card? I have two decks already that don't get much use. Depends on the deck but I generally like the Sun.   Astrology chart? I've already had this service done in a past SW round by Greenwoodtree thanks! I do generally enjoy astrological things though.   Are you a gamer? Where are the Cheetos? heh heh *snort* heh heh. Yes. I'm especially into table top gaming these days. Board games are ok. I'll play them once in a while with friends but I'm not really into them. I've played some collectable card games like Magic, but never quite got into them. I used to be heavily into LARP (live action role play) but I've been out of the LARP circuit for a while due to distance and injury. I'm not playing any LARPs right now, and the future looks uncertain.   I generally hate video games (I'm terrible at them). The only exception is the pokémon franchise. I have a 3DS and I'd like to collect ALL the pokémon games. My amazon wish list has a list of everything I'm looking for.   I'm currently playing a Mage (Awakening) game and a Pathfinder game. One of my gamings groups is also experimenting with rpg games by doing one shots, so if there's a system out there you think is cool I'd be up for trying it! I'd especially like new Gothic Horror type game systems. I'd love to find a "Werewolf the Apocalypse" book in good condition.   What's your Fandom baby? I am a nerd. I love comics/graphic novels, LARPing, reading, cheesy werewolf movies, fantasy, and ancient Egypt. I'm still a bit of an anime nerd as well. I love to dress up in costumes and do crazy make-up with prosthetics and everything (zombie walks or live action role play). I craft a lot of my own things from blankets to period armour. Funny how my answer to this has changed with Frozen. I'm strangely obsessed with this movie. I know it's not even that good, but I had to see it about three times in theatres before I could properly process the emotions it made me have. I'm very much like Elsa and my relationship with my sister has some eerie parallels to Anna and Elsa's. Frozen has become a comfort thing for me. I watch it when I'm sad or need to calm down, and I listen to the music a lot. I also spend a lot of time on tumblr, basking in the fan art etc... but you didn't hear that from me!   Otherwise, I grew up during the Disney Renaissance, so I love a lot of the movies from that period (The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast), without feeling that it's weird or special to like them.   I'm sort of trying to come to terms with the whole princess thing. I never felt very girlie growing up. In fact I rejected most things feminine, like princesses and the colour pink, so I'm kind of "rediscovering" them now, which is exciting but makes me feel like a big dork.   Hogwarts House? I've been told by friends and strangers alike that it is Gryffindor. No question about it.   Jane Austin? It burns us! Take it away!   Is there a particular mythos/time period you like? I'm an Egyptophile. I love ancient Egypt, their mythos and history. I will answer that I forgot that if you are a us witch you have access to occ cosmetics which I don't in Canada and if there were lip tars in my future that would be I like colours like NSFW, strumpet. Basically blue based reds (but red not dark) and my lips but better colour so a pinkish nude.   I'm really interested in Tarot. I had a nice book and deck but they seem to have mysteriously disappeared. I would love to replace the deck and get back into trying to read Tarot or Oracle cards. Fall 2012 Switch Witch Help

Hi! Thank you so much for choosing to play Switch Witch, and for getting me as a partner and not screaming and running, haha! I have had a huge lapse in posting for the past ~year or so, but I'm trying to amp my posting up now so you have some more material to work with. All I get in the mail these days is bills (physical mail and email too for that matter), so I'd love anything and everything you'd like to send my way! (well, kind of? haha.)   The only drawback that perhaps might put a kink in your plans is that I don't drink or enjoy tea or coffee. I make up for my lack of culture taste beverage appreciation with a heartfelt and enthusiastic love of just about anything and everything else, though! So no worries at all!   01. Do you like s'mores and s'mores-flavored things? Absolutely! I like just about any confection, really. I have a huge sweet tooth!   02. What's the neatest freebie you've gotten? It can be cool or thoughtful or just totally unexpected, and not limited to BPALdom. My cat was a freebie, does he count? Ha. Now about these things we promised not to write..

Nothing sexually orientated, profane (what does that mean? I think it's an Americanism for swearing but it sounds a bit medieval; I'm afraid I'm not planning religious stuff - much) - and various other things. Which all sounded a bit un-BPAL, though I guess I do really know what the mod's are getting at. I had no intention of writing anything like that until I was told not to   Anyway, I'm chuffed to bits that I've figured out how to write a more free-form thing here, away from the forums. Not that they aren't great, but I do have a tendency to rattle on.... And I am prepared for the fact that nobody reads these things. Doesn't bother me in the slightest, solipsistic wench that I am.   Right, now to what I really wanted to write, which is just a quick note about the Halloween oils. I hate the word Weenies. Meh. So... thoughts.   I love the sound of the idea and the notes of Samhain, but I'll wait to see some reviews on how the balance of this year's version works out. I'm not keen on apple in things - though I love the smell for real, and in a kitchen, but when I've detected it in oils it's always put me off for some reason.   Bonfire, has just got my name on it. I adore fire and autumn and bonfires, and Guy Fawkes' night (although as an ex-Catholic and pacifist I'm a bit uneasy about some of it). Still. I was nervous about the beer note until I tried a frimp of Beer From the Marsh Woman's Kitchen and just adored it, so that's fine too. Can't wait, and I will have a bottle, damn it! (does that count as profane?) Sugar Skull - sounded grim from the name. I'm squeamish about skulls and not keen on sugary flavours, but then I read a few reviews - oooh caramel, and raw sugar -well, this has to be done. No question.   I'm put off most of the others by ideas of melancholy, sadness and blood. I find that blends with that atmosphere lack something that, emotionally I despise but apparently I find olfactory essential. Harrumph. My nose is a right Pollyanna   So there we go. I can't afford 3 bottles but if the reviews of Samhain sounds good I shall find a way. Just as well Bub is :DGC!

Mama would be proud.   Review:   In the bottle: Another foody perfume... Sugar, vanilla, cream, chocolate, and something fruity in the background.   Wet: It really smells like pastry, with raisins, cinnamon, vanilla, ricotta or thick cream... It’s very sweet!   Dry: Now, I get the candied fruits, in a sugar-coated shell... However, the fruits smell like an artificial essence, that’s my only disappointment.   Verdict: Hum, this smells delicious! It might be a little bit too rich and decadent though...

A Very Merry Unbirthday to You!

Right-o! And here we have the long-overdue catchup on the questions posted in the Unbirthday Swap thread!   What magazines do you read/ have subscriptions to? I don't have any magazine subscriptions right now. I got the Food Network mag for the first year it came out, and it was alright. I probably would enjoy Cooks Illustrated, but blogs and so on have kind of subsumed magazines for me.   What kind of socks or tights do you like? No tights. Any socks are good. I have kind of been pining for the Polonova knee highs from sockdreams since I found them last year at switch witch, but not enough to buy a pair apparently!   Who would like to get a box in the mail with different teas in them? I think I'm good on teas for now.   Would you like anything (small) handknitted? if so, fiber sensitivities? Maybe a set of fingerless gloves? Winter comes early and hits hard in Upstate NY … except last year.   Do you like knitted items? Any allergies or preferences when it comes to the yarn? What colors? I don't wear too many knitted things! I did get a scarf from my witch last autumn that's done in several cool chromatic greys. It's very pretty. To be honest, I don't knit and I don't know too much about it!   What kind of wrapping do you like? Goth? Flowers? Girlie? Bright? Sparkly? Plain? Modern? Fancy? Other? I like solid colors or simple patterns (I have a red-and-white houndstooth I love for Christmas presents). Or the Sunday funnies. I've always had a soft spot for that as wrapping material.   Would you mind anything Alice in Wonderland UnBirthday themed? You'd think it would be de-rigeur, wouldn't you? ;D I'm most fond of the old woodcut illustrations.   What are your art preferences? Widely, widely varied. I'm an art history major, and while I really love the classics (especially Roman sculpture and architecture), I will probably end up studying the Florentine renaissance. Some of my favorite painting subjects are Judith and Holofernes, and I think in my posting history or elsewhere in this blog I made a whole big list of my favorite depictions of the Judgment of Paris. Within the past century, my favorite artist is Dalí; of less-famous, currently-working artists, long have I coveted a commission from Lord Dubu on deviantArt; I got him to do a piece this spring of my boyfriend's character, but getting my own done is still something I haven't been able to swing.   How do you feel about sample sizes or testers of things? I have absolutely no problem with this, especially if it's something I haven't gotten to try before!   Speaking of Villainess, who here is a fan? Would you want any of their goodies? If so, what are your scent wishes, and which types of products would you like? (i.e., Soap, Sugar Scrub, Moisturizer etc) I have only tried the "Killer Beez" perfume from Villainess, and none of their other products — except for the Xmvlzencab soap they make for the Post, which I love very much. I'd totally be over the moon to get some of their soaps and moisturizer, especially in scents that compliment my fave BPALs (favorite notes include honey, musk, patchouli, tobacco …)   Favorite movies? I've been a fan of Chris Nolan's since Memento and loved his Batman trilogy. My all-time favorite flick is Blade Runner, but I also have a big soft spot for Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.   Do you have any hobbies that you need supplies for? Or anything you would like to learn to do? I paint Warhammer miniatures, so slottabases and Citadel paints are very welcome, especially their metallics and washes. I could totally make up a list of minis I covet, but I suspect that's a fast track to sticker shock for the uninitiated. I also have a whole Dick Blick wishlist that should have been in the questionnaire.   Do you need any kitchen supplies? I don't generally incense, but I'd make an exception for this, which I am told smells just like Roman Catholic high mass incense (thus my grand love of Midnight Mass). I also don't have an oil warmer, but I kind of want to get one to use with BPALs that go wonky on me.   Is there anyone here who does collage or scrapbooking? Not I, alas.   Talk to me of candy. preferences, flavors, types, chocolate, not chocolate, etc. I never met a candy I didn't like. Those TimTams my Aussie friend sent me? Amazing. My fave was the dark chocolate/mint ones. Tasted a lot like Thin Mints, which was great in August, when Girl Scout cookies are a distant dream … I love dark chocolate, and I love it with all sorts of kooky things, like crystallized ginger or wasabi. I also just like crystallized ginger. I love cinnamon imperials, and Wint-o-green Life Savers, and the Skittles that used to come in the bright cyan-colored bag that I couldn't tell you what it was called. I also adore sour candies like Sour Punch Straws and Nerds Rope and Sour Patch Kids. And Heath Bars/toffee in general! And sea-salt caramels! and those caramel apple pops I used to buy at the school store in seventh grade! In short: all the candy.     Would you wear any of these [scarves; pics omitted]: I probably would not. Just doesn't seem like my style.   Are there any recently released BPAL bottles/and or imps that you'd like to have, that you havn't ordered yourself? I do regret not getting a decant of Luna Azul, as on reconsideration it seems like something I'd like. Other than that, my decanteuse floated the idea of doing a Dragon*Con circle but I don't know if she's actually doing it … I was most interested in Cuelebre and the atmo spray. I want the single note, too, for the sake of completeness, but rose and I don't always get along.   it's canning season. how would you feel about a small jar of jam/jelly/pickles/etc? I'd love to get some kind of jelly/jam/fruit preserves! My stepmother can't seem to make jelly faster than we go through it in my house. Salsa would also be very welcome!   Is there something special that can only be gotten in New York that you would want? Could you just bring me the Met? That'd be great. … Nothing that I can think of off the top of my head, but I get down there reasonably often myself.   Is there anything from PHILADELPHIA that y'all would want? Most likely the retail exclusives from the Mutter Museum — I have family down there as well, so I visit about once a year.   Would you prefer one larger gift or several smaller gifts? I would prefer my swapper does whatever makes her happiest.   If you were my swapee would you like to find a jug of syrup in your package? YES. YES I WOULD. The state fair opens tomorrow. I'm going Friday and probably going to buy tons of maple sugar and syrup. And local honey.   Who here likes British treats? I'm thinking Cadbury goodies, Curly Wirlies, Kinder chocolates, that sort of thing. and, more importantly, would you want some included in your gift box? I'm not too familiar with most British candies. I am told, however, that chocolate digestive biscuits are something I should try.   is there anything in particular you would like from Think Geek? if so, what? I prefer resins and woods, and I do like high quality incense, like Fred Soll (made down the road from me, so I don't need any!) and the good Japanese incenses. I do have a oil burner but don't use it as much. I love essential oils though, and do need some new ones. Just bought more lavender and cedar, but almost anything else would be welcome, esp. if they also have healing qualities. I do need a rose, but that is pretty pricey, so don't worry about that. Would LOVE a BPAL candle, but also pretty pricey.   Is there anyone here who does collage or scrapbooking? If so, would you want a 'magpie gift', like, origami papers or other pretty things that could be incorporated into those types of art?
