So After a Week of Eating Healthy...

I have lost no weight.   I'm trying not to let it discourage me, because are there several contributing factors. My period is coming up, I wasn't very active, and while I was estimating calories a day, I was not keeping strict track.   I'm going to start doing that this week. Everything that goes in my mouth is going to be accounted for. I'm also considering walking home from work every day. My boyfriend and I work a few blocks away (Las Vegas blocks, which are pretty lengthy, but it's not too bad) and I'd like to start bringing my athletic shoes and just walking home.   Overall, I think I could stand to lose an even 100 pounds. 160 for my height is on the higher side of the healthy BMI range, and I've always liked even numbers. I think I'm going to break it up into mini-goals of 10 lbs each. So 250, here I come!

Notes of love: Musk, musk, and did I mention...musk? Also, fresh, citrusy scents, honey, and vanilla reign at the top of the list.   Notes of not so much: Rose seems to go soapy on me, and cedar / most wood scents get a bit too strong and make me smell like a bed of wood chips.

Getting Back on Track (Hopefully!)

I've struggled with weight ever since I hit puberty. I grew four inches and innumerable pounds in the span of one summer, going from a skinny twig to pleasantly plump so quick I don't think it quite struck me until it was too late. I kept eating in the manner of a teenager with their first real job, lots of fast food and gallons of soda, which pretty much set me into my habits for the rest of my life.   I've been 200+ since high school when I actually really started paying attention to my weight, and struggled with my will power and habits, as well as fad diets. I've done Atkins (terrible idea), the "Don't Eat Past 2 PM" diet (even worse idea), vegetarian (which might have worked if I'd done it right), and many others.   The thing that I found truly worked was getting a job at Goodwill (Walking laps around a floor for 7 hours a day, fixing hangers and organizing clothes), watching my calories, and eating three small meals with snacks in between, along with generous portions of fruit, veggies and water.   I moved to Colorado in 2009 following my divorce, weighing around 220. I worked really hard and by the time I moved to Las Vegas nine months later, I was around 195 lbs. The first time I'd ever been under 200 since I started noticing my weight.   There I started seeing my boyfriend, bad habits crept back in (not to mention amazing Las Vegas retaurants) and now I have blown past the 220 mark (my previous heaviest) and all the way up to 260. I am mortified with myself for allowing this to happen.   I am getting back on track TODAY. I know I can lose weight, and I know I can eat healthily. I am going to do this, and I am going to change my life.

My first shipment has arrived!

This noob is now in possession of her first BPAL shipment!   Earlier this year I made the commitment to go natural with my beauty products. I have an overabundance of makeup, perfume, moisturizers, and hair goop that's filled with all manner of toxic chemicals. I said no more, and promised myself that I would only buy beauty products that were safe and non-allergy inducing.   After watching a few really helpful video reviews on BPAL from Youtube, I decided that it was worth a try. All natural, cruelty free, high quality, all good things right?   my first imp order-- Dorian Sea of Glass Blood Countess Moscow Libertine Languor   I also received Urd and Blue Fire from the Atomic Luau Lounge Collection.   Unfortunately, because my nose is so burned out from all the synthetic perfumes I've worn over the years, it will be a little while before I can really appreciate these enough to give a proper review. However, that's not stopping me from placing my next order!

My Database of Smells by Theme

I've noticed certain trends among my BPAL, and this is my page to chronicle that. These are the main impressions I get from certain scents. Keepers are in bold. Bottle-worthy scents are *starred.   ROSE SCENTS: *Spellbound - My first impression was Ren Faire! Roses and incense! The rose scent definitely fades a lot as this dries down, but remains detectable. *Lucy's Kiss - Similar impression as Spellbound, but with something sweeter. The rose smell remains very apparent in this one. Zombi - The wet earth smell behind the roses keeps this from being "just another" rose scent. London - A very rosy scent, didn't catch much of anything else. Blood Rose - Seems like the middle ground between Spellbound and Lucy's Kiss, a little bit of sweet, a little bit of incense.     SHAMPOO/SOAPY SCENTS: Shoggoth - Definitely dries down into something a little more tart, a hint of citrus. Fades super quick on me. Envy - Very soapy/shampooey smell, with an undertone of flowers. Pleasant enough. Fades quickly. Lord Teishin with a Demon Behind a Screen - Had high hopes for this one. It almost seemed like it would pull it out, then started smelling like generic shampoo. Vasakasajja - Like I just took a bath, and there's that faint scent of bar soap still on my skin.     CITRUS/FRUIT SCENTS: *Serpents with Glittering Eyes and Forky Tongues - Not too sweet, offset perfectly with the musk, a wonderful throw and staying power. My favorite. <3 Ether - First impression is a sweet, tart, fruity smell, though once it dries down, it's more of a clean/soap smell to me. Fades super quick on me. Poisoned Apple - This is almost an oceany scent to me. That crisp, almost 'salty' scent lends itself to images of the sea. Ushi - Sweet and tart mango goodness. Tweedledum - Sweet, fruity smell. Very subtle. *Lurid - A deep berry scent underscored with a sexy musk that seems to strengthen the longer it stays on Embalming Fluid - Bright and lemony, very fresh scent. *Maenad - So many hearts for this one. It's a deep, sweet smell with just enough undercurrant of darkness to keep it from being too childlike. Twinkle, Twinkle Little Bat - So melony sweet and sparkly, but fades very quickly. Candy Corn Coated Candy Apple - I was pleasantly surprised! A lot like Poisoned Apple, that same crispness, but sweeter! The Hamptons - Wonderful, fizzy lemon soda. Imp - Delicious, sweet peach with a bit of musk to keep it from being too sweet. Phantasm - Lemony goodness, with a hint of sweet floral. Vixen - The first impression is 'sultry'! I like it, sexy without being too overwhelming, the citrusy notes sweeten it perfectly. Bewitched - A pretty, but not overwhelming berry smell. Seems to fade pretty quickly on my skin. Namaste* - Delicious, juicy orange with spice and incense underneath. <3     OCEANY SCENTS: The Sea Foams Blood - Ogygia - Like fresh salty water and flowers. The flower scent is too much for me.     SPICY SCENTS: Spicebush Swallowtail - Definite sweet clove/allspicey scent. Not at strong as Port-au-Prince. Fades really quickly on me. Port-au-Prince - CLOVE. LOTS AND LOTS OF CLOVE. Blood - Something in this just clashes... the clove doesn't sync with the sweet, I think.     FLOWERY SCENTS: High-Strung Daisies - Sugar-coated flowers, but the sweetness fades quickly. Veil - Sweet, summery flowers. Something familiar, can't put my finger on it. #20 Love Oil - Much too much flowery old lady, with a sharp, weird note of metallics. Against Idleness and Mischief - Almost overpoweringly flowery, too much for me. Oleander Honey - Way, way too flowery for me. Almost dizzying. Rapture - I think it might be jasmine that turns into a pee-like smell on my skin. This fell victim to that. Dance of the Mirlitons - Not sure what I'm catching, but there's a not-so-pleasant sharp flowery scent. L'Ecole Des Filles - A sweet, floral scent. Very sensual. Fire Pig - A really sharp, almost metallic floral scent. The Ghost - Reminds me of that pee-like smell from Rapture. Dyan Moon - Pleasant, sweet flowery smell. Forbidden Fruit - Something just clashes in this. There's a strong flowery smell just warring with the sweetness. Juliet - I was hoping the pear would even out the flowers. Unfortunately not on me. All I get the host of floral. Too soft and girly for me. Definitely embodies the idea of 'Juliet'! Amsterdam - Clean, light flowers. Seraphim - Reminds me of a 'drier' version of some of the rose smells, with a bit of other florals mixed in. Arachne of Lydia* - The perfect clove smell. Soft, not overpowering, and with great staying power.     OZONE SCENTS: *Lightning - Amazing. Sweet and ozoney, in a way which is absolutely lovely. The Phantom Wooer - Wonderfully lovely, like a rainstorm. Stormclouds on the Midway - Like flowers in the rain. I don't get any of the incense, which makes me sad.     INCENSE SCENTS: *The High Priest Not to Be Described - Nag champa incense. So delicious, and stays on me forever. Dragon's Blood - Delicious dragon's blood scent, nailed it. Dragon's Hide - *Dragon's Milk - A sweeter version of Dragon's Blood. Dragon's Musk - Dragon's Tears - Two Monsters - Musky, almost masculine, resiny scent. Similar to High Priest, but less sweet. The Great Sword of War - Very soft, sweet incense smell. And There Was a Great Cry in Egypt - Up close it's lovely, but the throw softens and muddles to something too powdery. I kept catching whiffs of diapers. *Paramatman - Incensey, with a "purpley" throw that's gorgeous. Serpent's Kiss - All I get is a sharper Dragon's Blood. Penitence - A soft, clean incense scent. Almost soapy.     FOODIE SCENTS: Bread-and-Butterfly - Just... too buttery weird for me. White Rabbit - Has an underlying scent that just goes wrong, like a buttery sour milk. Anne Beany - Butterscotch yumminess! Miskatonic University - A pleasant coffee/mocha scent. The only chocolately scent I've found that I like. Bedbug - Get the same 'ugh' weird butter smell from Bread-and-Butterfly. Just not for me. Inez - For some reason, I get raw chocolate powder out of this. Reindeer Poop - Smells like cookies to me. Perfectly pleasant, just not for me. Bones Trombone - A sickly sweet smell of pies.     CANDY SCENTS: *Hideous Heart - Wonderfully sweet and spicy, like cinnamon hearts! Blue Fire - Not as bad as I was expecting. Smells like grape soda on the skin. A lot less "fizzy" after a couple hours, fading into a pleasant sweet. Gelt - Chocolate, but a little off somehow. How Doth the Little Crocodile - Reminds me of chocolate dinner mints. Pleasant, but not for me. The Kingdom of Sweets - Soda pop sweet and bubbly. Velvet Unicorn - Like those boxes Strawberry Rolls mixed with taffy. Fades very quickly on me.     SWEET/VANILLA SCENTS: Anne Beany - Lots of butterscotch yummy. The Antikythera Mechanism - The black vanilla doesn't hate my skin as much as regular vanilla! Sweet but still somewhat masculine and utterly dreamy. Grog - Almost exactly like Anne Beany to me... just a bunch of butterscotch. Blood Kiss - Ugh. Goes molasses on me, like most vanilla scents. Mouse's Long and Sad Tale - OMG! A vanilla smell that doesn't go bad on me! It does, however, disappear very quickly. Rangoon Riptide - Gorgeous! The pineapple and rum is delicious together. Pahoehoe - Delicious tropical sweet smell. Rosy Maple - I think I've found that sweet pea evens out that molasses yuck of vanilla on my skin! Like with ML&ST, this one in lovely and sweet! Knockout Drops - Reminds me of a sweeter version of Absinthe. Dracul - Starts out as an herby smell, then just muddles into non-descript sweet smell. The Dodo - Wasn't sure where to put this. It has a weird, flat smell. Like old, papery red soda. *Absinthe - Gorgeous, sharp and sweet with that hint of wicked 'wormwood' impression.     GREEN/PLANT SCENTS: Whoop - Sweet and softly spicy, almost like a cider of some kind to begin, then dries into a pine scent. Squirting Cucumber - Hairy Toad Lily - Chuparosa - Very green smell, like wet, fresh plants. Phoenix Steamworks - I get a bunch of pine that fades into nothing.     EARTHY SCENTS: Death Cap - Dirt. Dirt, dirt, dirt. Rumpelstilzchen - All I get is dusty patchouli. Ra - All I get from this is a sharp, dirty smell at first. maybe 30-45 mins. Then finally it fades into a non-descript sweet smell. Aureus - A lovely cedary scent. I love the smell of cedar, just not on me. Thunder and Blazes - Has the wet earth smell with a hint of leather underneath. Malediction - Charcoal with the tiniest hint of sweet. Almost like mesquite.     MASCULINE SCENTS: Vicomte de Valmont - Very spicy men's cologne-y. Galvanic Goggles - Very sexy male scent. Screeching Parrot - Not sure what I'm catching in this (maybe the rum and the ginger?) but it seems spicy and almost masculine on me.   NOT SURE: Love Me - Metallic... sickly... I just don't know.

A letter to my mother...

I never know if you read my letters. I never know if you understand my heart or what it is I’m trying to say when I’m writing, and that’s part of what makes them so difficult to write. I love you, and I know that the way I keep you at a distance makes it seem otherwise. I know that there are things in these letters I write to you that are hard to read, and that could make it seem like I don’t love you. Yet, it is because I love you that I tell you these things; I hate that our relationship is broken, and I’m hoping that there may be a way to fix it somehow. Maybe there isn’t. I don’t know. But I can’t go without trying.   In the summer of 2010, I had to see a therapist as part of our adoption process. The Quality Control people at the Cherokee Nation wanted to be sure they could say they’d made sure someone with my background had been through a mental health assessment before they’d let me have custody of one of their children, so I had to talk to a therapist, visit with a psychologist, take an MMPI, and share those results with them to prove I was stable and healthy enough to raise a child.   In the process, one of the people I spoke with recommended the book “Boundaries” to me. She had no concern about my mental health, but she was worried about the way I felt obliged to try to repair our relationship, and wanted me to read this book so I could learn about healthy boundaries between people. She was worried that I didn’t have a healthy sense of boundaries and didn’t know how to say no to you when I needed to, not really. I disagreed, but bought the book to see what it had to say.   I was half way through when one of the small groups at church decided to do it for Sunday School. We signed up and have spent the better part of the year going through it as a group. It’s been a fantastic experience, and while I went into this having been told I needed stronger boundaries with you, I had people in my class point out to me that perhaps I needed to examine why I had boundaries with you and make certain I was being fair with you, not judging you on past behaviors or rumors.   The book has been so good I decided to get you a copy. I want you to understand the things I’ve come to understand about myself as a part of this study. You see, Boundaries isn’t about changing other people; it’s about setting personal limits so that you change yourself to be a better person. It’s about recognizing the personal limits of others. It’s about not being a victim or a victimizer. It’s about taking charge of yourself and taking personal responsibilty.   In the first part of the book, you’ll learn about the different kind of boundary problems. I want you to know this: I’ve recognized in myself all four problems at one point of my life or another, in one relationship or another. There are some of them that I’ve learned to recognize already and am better at dealing with, but there are some that I still have to work to overcome. I want you to know what it is I’m trying to say when I put up a wall between us; what it means to me to say “this is my boundary, and I need to maintain it.”   This is the Saturday before Mother’s Day, and I cannot tell you how profoundly painful this weekend is for me. More than the anniversary of Dad’s death, more than Father’s Day, more than his birthday, more than any other date on the calendar, this weekend is so deep a wound I can not interact with other people. I am an overwhelmingly social person, so for me to have a time that is so stunningly painful that I shut down and shut people completely out says something. I connect to people when I hurt, when I’m depressed, when I need to keep going, but this one weekend every year, I withdraw, I hide, I don’t go to church, and I ache all the way to the core.   Mother’s Day is all about praising our wonderful mothers. It’s all about singing the praises of wives who are raising wonderful children and the sainted mothers who sacrificed for us. Except, see, I have neither of those things. A barren woman, I have no child that I am raising to be a shining star in the heavens. I never even miscarried; no unborn infant awaits me in heaven. Everyone I know tells me I’d be a great mother, and yet two years after I’ve started trying, I still haven’t gotten anywhere on the adoption front. I begin to give up hope. The reproductive system I hated from the first time I had a period proved nothing more than a cruel tease and a literal pain.   As for a sainted mother who sacrificed for me... well, do I need to go into how much that doesn’t apply to me? Yes, there are things about my childhood that I didn’t hate. There are things I took away that tell me you did love us, as much as you knew how. But I can’t even blame the way you abused us on a drinking problem. You were sober when you beat us... you knew what you were doing. It wasn’t the drink making you mean... that was you.   More than that, the first time Brian came for me, that first time I couldn’t say anything... It was May 1988. We were visiting over the weekend while you worked on getting custody of us back from Mama & Papa. You had a bad weekend, and I stayed up late to work on a gift for you... I had a cross stitch kit, but I didn’t know how to do it, so I colored a picture on the cloth and framed it with the frame. I remember sitting up in my room in my snoopy pajamas. Do you know why I remember it all? Do you know why I was making you a gift, why I couldn’t tell you? It was mother’s day, and I wasn’t going to ruin your mother’s day. It wasn’t going to be my fault.   The woman who has been supposed to protect me was asleep while I was being attacked. Later, another time, you came into the room while he molesting me. He told you he was popping a pimple on my bottom; you said my dad had a pimply butt, turned around and left. My life hasn’t been marked by a mother who sacrificed for me, but by one who sacrificed me.   And yet, I can’t give up on you. I can’t not love you. In the deepest parts of who I am, I want my Mommy. I convinced myself a decade ago that it was unfair of me to expect that of you, that you weren’t equipped to be her... but I can’t give up on the hope that you were born to be more than who you have been, more than who you are. That when God crafted you, it wasn’t to be the woman who sacrificed me, who broke me, but one who was lovely, praiseworthy, loving.   So here I am, the night before Mother’s Day, the phones unplugged, unable to look at the card you’ve sent me yet, afraid to hear your voice, afraid to face anyone, longing for nothing else, and uncertain how to reach a seemingly impossible goal. I don’t want to dread your calls. I don’t want to feel the need to sneak around behind your back to visit family. I don’t want to feel the way I feel about you, but I do, and I don’t know how not to. I’ve tried putting up walls, but it doesn’t help. You don’t seem to understand why I’ve walled you off, nothing changes, and I still dread the phone call, the email, the contact.   So this is my attempt to fix things. Boundaries. Telling you what I’ve learned about what was broken in me, in a hope that maybe it will help you understand why I build the walls. Why the gates are so hard to figure out. Why I can send you roses, but can barely speak when you call. Because deep down, I love you. I hope for you. I long for the best in you, but the little girl in me is so broken that she needs walls to protect her from the you she can’t stop seeing.   I’m sorry. I’m sorry that this letter hurt you. I know that it did. I know I’ve said hurtful things recently. But I’m not sorry that I spoke truth, and if it finally made you understand me, then maybe, like the surgeries I’ve had to deal with, it was worth it. If it didn’t... well, add it to whatever you’ve done with the others. I’ll keep praying that someday, something will get through.

saved from beauty secrets thread for my own reference

Pure rosehip oil. I rub it on my face every morning and night, and it keeps my skin soft and glowy. Lightly dab tea-tree& lavender oil on the dark circles on your lower orbital bones before bed. Take vitamins, including a multi/daily, at least 600 mg Calcium and a Flax/Fish/Borage oil capsule, or just Flax and Borage if you're vegetarian/vegan. olive oil, so good on hair, I like to use it once a week as a really intensive mask, I wrap my head in clingfilm and a hot towel and leave it an hour. flat beer, makes for very shiny hair. for shampooing less: I wash it with a conditioner, that has absolutely no silicones in it (they build up in the hair). I massage it really well into the scalp and the I rinse it off. I didn't go from washing every day to washing once a week at once; I gradually weaned myself off it (diluting shampoo with water first, and then stretching the number of days I could go without. Also, a cup or so of powdered milk in very hot bath water makes my skin super soft. I think it's the lactic acid in the milk, but I'm just guessing. Regardless, it really works! Daily Vitamin E with either Evening Primrose Oil or Black Current Seed Oil - the most skin compliments I've ever gotten are when I use these regularly. Baking soda to whiten your teeth.Just dip your wet toothbrush in a cup full of soda, and brush your teeth, then rinse and use your regular toothpaste. salux washcloth: I googled (in Korean) the ddae soap I mentioned a page or so back, and I found out the correct way to use it: soap up normally, then WAIT 5 or so minutes, then scrub down with Salux/Italy Towel. aspirin mask: take five or six plain aspirin (no coating) and drizzle a little witch hazel onto them (helps them dissolve easier... suppose you could use water, but I like the toning of the WH). Then pop a vitamin e capsule, mix in a couple drops of jojoba (or preferred type) of oil, and a smudge of honey. Layer on your face, leave for 20 minutes, then rinse off with a warm wash cloth. Glowing soft skin and smaller pores! pineapple mask: I like the pineapple method myself for soft skin. =) Mashed pineapple chunks, a little yogurt, some honey, voila! Instant glycolic(?) acid mask that gently exfoliates and leaves baby-butt soft skin. It's basically a smoothie for your face for face: Primrose Oil and Blackcurrant Oils are good also.

Not enough skin

I haven't been paying much attention to the forums lately, except for checking the odd review or swap page. So, I didn't know there were component issues for the Glowing Vulva bath oil and sent an email wondering if maybe they'd gotten lost (yes, they, as in plural.) I was told to expect a click & ship soon, and I think I got them 24 hours later, or less.   And they arrived yesterday! Both orders at once! And I am in scent heaven. But when the packages together contain the following;   Glowing Vulva bath oil Red Lantern atmo spray Spanked Celeste Kitty Ninon   how on earth do you test it all? You probably don't. Except if you're me. And so there I was with GV, Celeste and Ninon on one arm, Kitty and Spanked on the other.   Celeste and Ninon smelled so alike, I decided to do an arm by arm comparison today. And something has been nagging at me regarding Celeste - it's as if I had smelled it before. First off it reminds me a lot of Arcana, just in general, but today it finally clicked. It smells like 'A Perilous Parlor' if someone had taken out the pear.   At first, when Ninon goes on next to Celeste I prefer Celeste. But an hour or so in I actually prefer Ninon. It has more dimensions and honestly Celeste starts to get a little too sweet. That isn't to say it's too sweet for a foodie, just that maybe I'm not as foodie as I thought...   Anyway, all this to say that Celeste reminded me of a scent and it was bugging me out that I couldn't figure out which one - until I did, of course, and then I just had to share.

Spring cleaning initiated

So, my husband went in for surgery, removing a polyp in his sinuses, and I spent all my nervous energy before and after the surgery by getting a little organized. (He is fine, if a little fragile and grumpy.)   I now have a sales post, linked in my signature. Am also selling over at LJ in sinandsalvation plus bpalmarketplace under the handle invading_space, in a hard effort to get these bottles moving (so I can make space for MOAR bottles, natch!)   I have prepared myself this time and ordered 50 little padded envelopes, which should tide me over pretty well. I hate sending a lone bottle in an envelope that could hold 6, such a waste, and the small ones are hard to find here. Yay for internet shopping! The math came out at 0.68€ a piece, so about $1 in space doolars. Not bad!   So, all this to say that I finally did manage to get my bottles up and organized. Now I'm eyeballing my hyooge collection of imps and wondering how to get rid of them in a manner that doesn't require me to list each and every single one of them, because UH! That is never going to happen.   As far as I'm concerned, all is well in BPAL land!

Spring 2011 SW Questions 3/23 to 4/2

April 2   Maple Candy/syrup?   I already have a bottle of the fabulous maple syrup mentioned, so I think I'm good. I don't use it all that often, but it's great to have when I make waffles (rarely) or sometimes I put it on my oatmeal. Maple candy is a little too sweet for me.   So, someone on the IGI thread posted about some prints she received from this artist: http://www.etsy.com/shop/pinkytoast. I love everything! Would you like anything from there?   Not really my style.   Stones?   I like pretty rocks... I used to have a rock polisher!   Animals that creep you out?   I don't really like monkeys or other primates. I think it's because they look almost human but not human, I think they're kind of creepy.   Clowns?   I mentioned this in the thread, I don't like clowns.   March 30   Do people like Roller Derby? If so, would you want anything from that sport? Like memorabilia or anything?   I do like it. I'm not hardcore enough to play, plus I can't skate to save my life! But I have a few friends who do and I've seen a few of the Rat City bouts, plus I have Rat City underwear.   March 29   Would you be squicked if I made you something with a kiss print that was made with my actual lips? (The ones on my face!) I solemnly swear I don't have mono, Ebola, or any sort of French disease. Bubonic plague is still on the table.   Maybe a little.   What is the coolest thing you have recently bought or been given that wouldn't exceed the price cap?   I haven't been doing much shopping for myself, and people have mostly just given me candy, so I'm pretty set on that!   March 25   So Witchees, do you enjoy pre-1970 movies? If so, who are your favorite actors/actresses?   I do. I like a lot of old Alfred Hitchcock movies, and Wait Until Dark, and To Kill A Mockingbird, and one of my faves... Arsenic and Old Lace. I don't know that I have any specific favorite actors, but maybe Gregory Peck and... I don't know, Audrey Hepburn?   Are you interested in trying Super Villainess (from Villainess - the birthday scent that was just released tonight!) and if so, which item do you like the most? (Soap, Whipped, Smooch, Extrait, Smack...)   I think it has too many dealbreaker notes for me.   If I were to order you a Smack, which four notes would you like?   Fresh Squeezed Citrus Coconut Milk Pomegranate Fig Tropical Fruit     Would you enjoy receiving a knitted gift from your witch? If so what would you be interested in (scarf, hat, wrist / handwarmers, socks, etc.) and in what colors?   I knit a lot myself (mostly socks), but I would appreciate any knitted gift from my witch! I don't wear hats other than when it's cold, though.   March 23   Easter Candy - do you like it? If so, what types?   I don't have any particular favorites.   What scent(s) are you petrified of getting DC'd?   Dorian and Lolita! I already had Succubus go away

Yules: The Nutcracker Acts 1 & 2: KLARA Category: Limited Edition Quantity: bottle   Description: The Nutcracker Acts 1 & 2: KLARA Honey dusting powder, mandarin, iris, ylang ylang, tea rose, and carnation.   Review:   In the bottle: Sweet, powdery and clean. I smell a strong note of honey.   Wet: Honey and mandarine, with a little bit of iris and carnation.   Dry: Tea rose and ylang-ylang come out strong... maybe a little bit too strong.   Verdict: I don’t know, it’s just missing something. It smells like a Lush soap, or baby powder. I would have liked something more unique than that.   More reviews: Limited Edition: Yules: The Nutcracker Acts 1 & 2: Klara

Mustard?

March 25   -Are you interested in trying Super Villainess (from Villainess - the birthday scent that was just released tonight!) and if so, which item do you like the most? (Soap, Whipped, Smooch, Extrait, Smack...)   Super Villainess actually sounds awesome—coffee is one of my faves! I’ve never tried anything from Villainess, so I don’t rightly know, but I think Whipped, Smooch or Smack would be best.   -If I were to order you a Smack, which four notes would you like? Vanilla bean, Spice Trade, Red Woods, Espresso   -Would you enjoy receiving a knitted gift from your witch? If so what would you be interested in (scarf, hat, wrist / handwarmers, socks, etc.) and in what colors?   Omigosh. I’d love any of these things, minus socks—because I am very foot peculiar. Scarf or handwarmers are preferred. Colors... oh, I like almost any jewel tone color, with preference on blue, red, green. And I love soft yarn. Esp fleeces like mohair or cashmere. I could snuggle them forever...   March 23   -Easter Candy - do you like it? If so, what types?   I love. Love. LOVE Starburst jellybeans. Soooo much. I know I like other Easter Candy... just not thinking of it. I do not really like peeps/etc. Nor do I like your average chocolate bunny (the shell chocolate tastes funny to me) or cadbury things... hm. Ok. Maybe just jelly beans   -What scent(s) are you petrified of getting DC'd?   Miskatonic University. I keep meaning to buy a back up but can’t get around to it.   March 22   -Violette Market Update is up. Do you covet anything from it?   I am not really into VM. I find their scents to be so strong they nauseate me after a bit :/ I could look I suppose... Lost Woods of Killarney, Morrigan, maybe... I don’t know if they’re still up, but I do covet some Conjure Oils, no lie. I’ll update my wishlist.   -What is your favorite type of wine? Would you be interested in trying something new? In that case, is there anything you really DONT like? Ooooo how about dessert wines?   I love wine. I ESPECIALLY love dessert wines. I’m open for trying anything. I love a good gewurztraminer or late harvest, as well as many reds. Reds *are* typically preferred... but like I said. I’ll try anything!

March 25, 2011

Sorry it's been a while. Not really that many questions to catch up on though, witch!   March 25   Are you interested in trying Super Villainess (from Villainess - the birthday scent that was just released tonight!) and if so, which item do you like the most? (Soap, Whipped, Smooch, Extrait, Smack...)If I were to order you a Smack, which four notes would you like? I think the combo of bluegrass (I LOOOOOOOVE grass) and georgia peach sounds delicious . or bluegrass and limeade. Or bluegrass and sugared roses. Seeing a trend here?   Super Villianess sounds awesome! Probably in a soap or something, as I don't know if I could wear that smell all day, but it sounds like something I would love smelling in the shower!   Would you enjoy receiving a knitted gift from your witch? If so what would you be interested in (scarf, hat, wrist / handwarmers, socks, etc.) and in what colors? I would love anything my witch hand-made for me. That being said, I live in a pretty mild climate! but it does get cold here for a few months and I do love wearing scarves/gloves/etc. Hats kind of look dumb on me because my head is shaped like a basketball!   March 23   Easter Candy - do you like it? If so, what types? REESES EGGS MAKE ME HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   What scent(s) are you petrified of getting DC'd? My favorite scents all seem to be LE's anyway, but lets see.... Alice? March 22   Violette Market Update is up. Do you covet anything from it? The truffle trade actually sounds pretty repulsive to me. too rich   What is your favorite type of wine? Would you be interested in trying something new? In that case, is there anything you really DONT like? Ooooo how about dessert wines? I love wine!!! I love dry wine, I love sweet wine, I love red wine, I love white wine, I love strong tasting wine, I love buttery wine, I love oaky wine, I love wine!   But not wine in a box   Although the French Rabbit wine that comes in a (picnic-perfect) carton is pretty good!

Spring SW '11 round 2

edited/updated August 2011 . . . .   Soaps! I prefer PaintBox to Villainess, but Villainess is good too! I prefer sample sizes, because then it's easy to have several out to choose from And I love to use scrubs for shaving.   If I were to order you a Smack, which four notes would you like? hmmm vanilla, lavender or jasmine, cream, and something light & spicy (or double on one of the others)   Would you enjoy receiving a knitted gift from your witch? I would love and adore anything like this! uhm, probably some version of a scarf/wrap would be top of the list, but any socks/gloves/mittens/hat/socks/ etc would be wonderful. Colors - blues & purples are always a great bet. Reds & pinks also good.   What scent(s) are you petrified of getting DC'd? Anything on my wishlist! There are actually several formerly GC scents that had been on my "next order" list only to be DC'ed first, so I've started to get nervous about that . . . and I would be absolutely disconsolate if there were no more TKO.   In fact, I must get some more TKO and Cheshire Cat as soon as I have funds again . . . .
