SW Q&A Sept.25-October 1st!

9/25/10 If you could make a scent that represents where you live (or have lived), what would be the ingredients? Are you in need of Roller bottles or anything of the like? I don't think I *need* any, but sure? 9/29/10 Is there one scent that is your goto for comfort on a bad stressful day? Like the perfume equivilent of a security blankie? I used to wear Akuma all the time. but I think I overused it at work, and began associating it with aromatherapy stress relief. So now, we are taking a break(Kumiho is subbing for him). If I really need help sleeping, I will use Absinthe. It reminds me of the anise milk I used to get when I was little. My scent for putting on and just instantly feeling happy and good, and comfortable is Makhanitis. It's just that awesome. But, I have all of these, so please don't feel you need to get me any of them. What are you going to be for Halloween? It was between a tightrope walker(if you've ever seen the painting at Disneyland's Haunted House of the girl over the crocodile pit with her parasol?) or the same botanist character I am gearing up to be at the Steampunk Exhibition next year. But now, it is looking more like gypsy fortune teller/dancer-- which I was last year. It is both fun and comfortable. Is there something just super random you like/enjoy/want/are ogling that has not been and will not be covered by any other questions, because it's just that WEIRD? I don't think so? 9/30/10 Villainess has an update. Anyone wanting anything from it? Maybe Cobwebs? But more Trauma and Peachberry from the last one. How are all the witchees fixed for purses--lunchbags, etc? I currently have an awesome purse. I also have a tendency to use my purses until they end, and I would feel bad doing that to a gift. I don't really use lunchbags. I do use totes, cooler bags for shopping/picnics, and I love the reusable shopping bags that fold down in to a tiny square so I can always have one with me in my purse. Now, I have a question for you. About notes. Which are your favourite ones? Do you have a kind of "note top ten?" Anything that works particularly well on you? Do you have a perfume category (foody, floral, aquatic, musky) that you favour? And are there any notes you have never tried, but think would work well on you? I have a link in my sig to all the notes I know work or not on me. My favorite note include: anise, bergamot, champaca,currant, linden, mimosa, mint, musk, neroli/orange blossom, plum, ,(burgundy)wine, strawberry, and just citrus in general. I like fruit, candy, incense, spices, and happy flowers in general. oh-- and tonka and tobacco have been love recently. I have no idea what scent family I'm most in. I can't think of any notes I haven't tried that I'd like to, but I'll try anything once. Would you like a sugar skull decorated by your witch? Or do you like sugar skull stuff in general? Sure! 10/01/10 So, who here loves pomegranates? Are they good as a fruit, a flavoring or just a scent? It's me! Yes, to all of the above. Haunt Update? Sure, but don't go out of your way. Smooth & Neat Category: Resinate Quantity: sample Description: SMOOTH & NEAT The aromatic flavoring of a fine liqueur, extremely sensual and smooth with a wonderful warming finish. Served neat. Patchouli leaves, bright orange citrus, smooth vanilla, and a splash of hazelnut liqueur. Review: In the bottle: Patchouli, orange and hazelnut liqueur. Wet: Warm orange and sweet vanilla, for the most part; everything else is in the background. Dry: The patchouli and liqueur come back, but it’s still smooth. It’s not the aggressive patchouli some old ladies are so fond of… Verdict: It’s well balanced, smooth and clean, with a sweet dose of vanilla and orange. However, patchouli smells old on me, so the sample will probably become lovely soap material.

Today my most wonderful witch sent me an email, asking me what I would want if by chance she placed a lab order and something slipped in.(cough) I think it would be bread and butterfly OR boo. My witch has gifted me with amazing soaps and creams and I feel all clean and moisturized thanks to her>! though I must confess, dear witch, I have never experienced little pony crafting fondness:( Hope this is not upsetting to you.. And tonight(ok, this morning) am gonna peruse my amazon list, and place an order using the gift certificate you sent me! Another BIG YAY! Ok, I hope you had a good day, and got your coffee and milk, because those are extremely important items to have on hand, and whatever your research is, coffee & milk will make it easier(IMHO) Oh,as far as beverages go,I'm probably set on TEA (thanks to various wonderful witches) and I love local items (especially mugs) though I confess I have no need for shot glasses...and I will try to post here, and meanwhile, thank you so much-you are a most excellent witch! signed, your witchee:wub2:

A little Cheese Sauce

Villainess has an update. Anyone wanting anything from it? The Cobweb perfume oil has been calling my name, and I’ll probably have to try it at some point. And, I’m a sucker for cute little bottles and containers of any sort, so I’m sure that is adding to the appeal. Killer Treez looks yummy. Smashing whipped (pumpkin whipped? Yes, this must be mine) Autumn Gala may have fallen into my order with something for my Witch, but I love the scent so much that I could buy it by the 55 gallon drum and still have to worry about running out! Is there one scent that is your goto for comfort on a bad stressful day? Like the perfume equivilent of a security blankie? Lately it has been CC Male, which I notice is running low. I tend to really like the leather blends as “comfort scents”. What are you going to be for Halloween? A fireman. I’m on call for work. Is there something just super random you like/enjoy/want/are ogling that has not been and will not be covered by any other questions, because it's just that WEIRD? I like this question a lot! I can’t think of anything right off the top of my head, but I will keep it in mind and update if something pops up. If you could make a scent that represents where you live (or have lived), what would be the ingredients? Walking along the shore of a lake that is just starting to freeze around the edges, red and gold leaves crunching under your feet from a heavy frost. Snuggling into a warm leather jacket that has just a hint of Snake Oil on the collar and the distant smell from someone’s woodstove in the distance. I don’t know what the notes would be, but Beth could make it better than I could ever hope to, anyway. Are you in need of Roller bottles or anything of the like? Little roller balls would be neat. So would decanting supplies, and I’ve always wanted to try making an alcohol based perfume. I know one of the supply companies has kits to do it, with the container, the perfumers alcohol, and what not, but I’ll be darned if I can remember which one. Purses I LLLLLLOOOOOOVVVVVVEEEEEEEE purses and bags!!!! And I have more than any 10 women could ever use, that, however, has never stopped me from buying more! The most useful type for me are the bigger tote bag style. Big enough that I can throw a note book and my smallish laptop into it.

Just a note: on my Wishlists, things tend to move around without warning. This mostly doesn't mean I bought it, just that I moved it to another list instead. For instance, on Amazon, I have several private wish lists including one called (heh) "Considerations." I know it is sort of annoying, but it's the absolute and only way I can keep the main one from swelling out of control and probably crashing Amazon's servers. Same goes for Etsy, just movin' it about. My apologies for the bad habit... 10/9/10 I came home with some Dungeon Crawl and some Bedbugs yesterday. If you were my witchee, would you want some of either/both? I would very much love even a sniffie of either, but in no way shape or form expect to get that lucky. 10/7/10 Did you forget anything fun/interesting or find something new and exciting? Lots and lots and lots. I have been enabled until the temptation swells in a great wave, cresting over my head and crashing down upon me in a forlorn cry of "I want it, I want it for my own." Even for someone who has always enjoyed window shopping and the play with imaginary shopping carts/make a wish list theory of fun, my wish lists groan under the weight of new discoveries... SwitchWitch is dangerous! Oh, and I've been updating the blog and links as this went along, so everything should be findable by clicking through the SwitchWitch link in my sig. Which, if you are reading this, you probably did already 10/5/10 Would you like to receive international magazines, even if you don't speak the language it's written in, just to ogle the pictures or for the novelty of it? If yes, what kind of magazines, or what magazines in particular? Sure! Sounds fun - surprise me! I used to take Russian & Spanish in school, although I am not what you would ever call fluent - those would be cool, or any thing foreign. Sometimes even the ads are fascinating, for what it reveals of the mindset in a foreign culture. would you have interest in any of the new Christmas stuff from Lush? Nope. Just went to Lush for the first time a day or two ago, nothing called to me. Oh, witchee-poo... if there was one bottle you could have from the NYCC exclusives, what would it be? So vanilla, red musk, copper colored feathers -- the note from Hellgates of Ireland that I haven't come across again -- I do love that one... I’m really excited about this – I’m going to be a lady version of Link from Zelda. I was going to be “mildly attractive Link” because I was going to make a long skirt and wear an overbust corset for the costume. However, I changed my plans to get some underbust practice in. So I’m upgrading from “mildly attractive” to “attractive”. Still not sexy – I’m going to be, you know, covered. But underbust is inherently closer to “halloween sexy” (ie, kinda slutty) than overbust so… attractive. My fiancé is gonna be Zelda (well, Sheik, because – as I told someone earlier, he has limits). I’ve already made the skirt and arm cuffs, I cut and laid out the pattern for the corset today, after I get done, all I have left is a goofy lookin’ hat. First Creation Category: Unreleased Blends Quantity: sample Description: FIRST CREATION N/A Review: In the bottle: It’s very soft, a little bit floral, with something sweet, such as vanilla or honey. Wet: It’s already more herbal, lemony, maybe even with a spicy background note, but I can’t find what it is. Dry: Still soft, creamy, lemony, and floral. It’s a bit old-lady-ish, but it smells clean and soft. Verdict: Yes, it’s a bit old-fashioned, but it smells good; and the ingredients are very mysterious!

I've played a non-BPAL SW and a few secret santas, and honestly, most of what I got was crap. One person sent me what was clearly the bottom of her candle tarts box, and it was all half used and dirty and stuff. So seriously, put some effort into it and I will be the happiest witchee on the planet!!! =P Actually I was in a secret santa on a support forum last year, and the person I got sent me a mix cd of music from her country, and a recording of her reading out a poem in her language. It was so beautiful, and even though it wasn't something that was worth any money, it was really amazing to get to know her a little through that cd. 9/21/10 Do you like garlic? If I didn't have to wear it, I think a nice rainy-smelling woodsy kind of scent for Seattle would be good. Notes: bergamot, grapefruit, cocoa bean, tobacco, incense, Russian leather, tonka bean, grey amber I better review this now because this is the 2nd time I've worn it and probably won't try it again. It's not terrible, just not for me. Basically it reminds me of Miller Vs. California. It has a very similar mix of leather and fruits, and there is even something papery, maybe the grey amber, or something about the incense notes. Sometimes incensey blends smell sort of papery to me (Heavenly Love And Earthly Love). Not a lot of cocoa bean or grapefruit that I can detect, and the bergamot is more of a suggestion of fruit than a specific citrussy note. Anyway, this is actually a nice scent. I think I just don't like leather scents all that much, with a couple of exceptions.

SW Q&A September 24th

Just curious, but if your witch was to make an amigurumi critter (or other plushie) just for you, what would it be? Hmm, I can't think of anything specific, but plushies are awesome. Would you want a local/tourist item from your witch? Like a t-shirt, mug or shot glass? sure! Okay, who wants NAlloween and some Vampire Apothecary goodness? Okay, I went and checked. So much enabling in this thread! It's a good thing I can be very forgetful. From NA Deity Moon: Ma'at and Serpent of Chaos, and from VA: Mask La Croix. Venomous Villains? Last Unicorn? the Last Unicorn is lovely, and I can't wait to see scent notes. Who is your fav Disney Villian/villianess? How about hero/herione? (doesn't have to be specifically Disney though) Hmm, I usually root for the good guys, but Maleficent is definitely the most striking. Favorite heroine is Ariel--the Little Mermaid in general. I mean she gave up her life for her true love's happiness. Belle, Aurora, Jasmine, Mulan, and Megaera are awesome as well. Snow White's singing voice grates on my soul. And the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio is beautiful. Favorite hero? Justin from Secret of NIMH... Or, from Disney, Aladdin or Robin Hood. Flesh and Blood non-real characters? Daniel Jackson from Stargate. James Spader was adorable in that movie. i'm going to stop talking now, lest I forge off into the "every awesome character ever" relay.

SW Q&A September 23rd

Do you collect stones/rocks? I'm talking like "semi" precious stones, ie moonstone, bloodstone, quartz ect. Are there any that you're looking for at the moment? Are you in need of a stone but don't know which kind? I love semi precious stones. At the moment, I am most wanting a piece of larimar, or kambaba jasper, or ocean jasper. But I'm happy with any stone, especially if it is water colored. If you have any magical stones that make all the bad people go away, leave my family alone, and destroy the pants-- and you can spare one-- that would be unbelievably awesome. What's your favorite Halloween Music? "This is Halloween" from Nightmare Before Christmas? I have some goth and old music collections compiled for whiel the trick or treaters come to the door. But lots of them are little, so Rob Zombie has to stay in the house where no one can hear him (I love Living Dead Girl-song and video both).
