My Switch Witch Fall 2020 answers
9/1/20 are you familiar with https://www.a-natural-alternative.com/ ? Take a peak & let me know if you might like to try something. I'd be up for trying lavender or french vanilla lip balm. 9/2/20 Would you like a face mask from one of my favorite artists? https://akumuink.com/collections/facemasks I'm good on facemasks right now. My mom and my BFF in France both make them and I rarely ever go anywhere. I do kind of want some gaiters but I'm concerned they would be too tight. I was eyeing the Last Unicorn ones (on my etsy masks faves) and a cheshire cat smile one (on amazon) but I have a fat neck so ... probably not a good idea if they're one size fits all. (plus I would wear them OVER my other masks.) one of our fellow BPAL friends makes custom masks, Hakutaku Custom Masks on facebook (https://www.facebook.com/HakutakuMasks/ ). Would anyone be interested in one of her masks? I already bought one from Jennifer (Hakutaku Custom Masks) for my mom's birthday so I'm good there. 9/3/20 Would you like anything from here? https://www.etsy.com/shop/TaterRoundsBeauty The Black Phillip makes me laugh. Maybe some of the pure daily moisturizer? I need a good facial moisturizer since Kiss My Face stopped making the one that worked for me. Or the Ultra Hydrating Vitamin Rich Face Cream & Aloe Gel? Hyaluronate & Algae Face Serum - Face Serum? Vampire Tonic! ok, I totally want some of the Black Phillip perfume too. Would absolutely try the hair color. I added a ton of stuff to my "make up" and "other bath and beauty" etsy faves. 9/5/20 what are your feelings on home made/ home canned jams & pickles or syrups? I even make things with berries I grow in my garden. I make both brandied & bourbon cherries. Syrups good for cocktails, in lemonade or tea, flavors include Lavender, Lavender + Lemon, & Lavender + Vanilla. Interested? I only have one jar of homemade garlic dill pickles left, so yesssss bring the artisan dill pickles!!! This year we made peach jam, ginger peach butter, cardamom plum jar, star anise plum jam, plum butter (two different types), apple butter, applesauce, lavender vanilla bean liqueur, rose petal liqueur, dilly beans, green tomato dill relish, and I currently have plums and spices sitting in vodka (Slivovitz, but it won't be ready until December.) So anything else, I will gladly take!! Especially brandied and bourbon cherries!!! BRING IT. Is there something that you're especially hoping to receive for this round? For example, a brand you've heard of that you're especially wanting to try, or a certain "thing" that you really want but just cant bring yourself to buy for yourself?? I'd really love some Scream Inside your Heart or Scream Inside your Snake Oil BPAL and a sticker. But I'm also in the 13 Nights of Halloween and asked for it there too, so you'd probably want to pop into that thread and ask my Pumpkin to contact you so as not to double up. Or have someone else do it for you since I follow that thread, haha. Would you rather receive supplies/tools for your own craft/hobby or receive something you can't make yourself? I have sooo much yarn and really don't need any more. I can always use Chiaogoo Red Lace needles in a size US 7 though! I like getting things I can't make myself too. Is there anything you'd like from Penzeys (https://www.penzeys.com/)? I think I have everything I want spice wise on my Amazon Cooking wish list. It has a bunch of things from Penzeys on it. 9/8/20 Art and artists - anyone dig any of this? https://www.studiodesade.com/ (They also do masks, see here.) Really not my color palettes or style. If you knit/crochet/weave, would you like custom dyed yarn? And if so do you have preference on weight, fiber, colors? Anything from fingering to bulky is fine. I prefer either gradients or semi-solid. Black and grey are always needed for neutrals, especially paired with a great contrast-y semi-solid (or gradient, lol) to make brioche or colorwork hats (so like dk/worsted) - I love jewel toned purples, blurples, blues. Dark blackened reds. Merino is awesome, merino cashmere, merino silk, merino silk cashmere, anything with yak... I don't love alpaca, llama, bfl, acrylic. Bamboo and tencel are great! what is one fun/frivolous thing for $20 or less that you’d enjoy? A pig or dragon tea pet! If I sent you to a dollar store with $20, what would you walk out with? maybe some frames to hang up some of my artwork, assuming they had frames matted for 8x10. maybe some gift bags or wrapping paper/tissue. if it's halloween time and they have cool bats or skeletal animals, that's all me. 9/9/20 would anybody like a small cross stitch thing, like a patch or pin? or cross stitching notions like handmade needle minders? I am old and losing eyesight, so although I really wanted to learn cross stitch, I just can't see. So no notions. I would love to receive a patch or pin! 9/11/20 Is there anything you'd like from the UK? um, yes! Tea! Chocolate! Future Primitive stuff! Do you have a particular fandom you'd like stuff from? I have fandoms that I like things from that are on wish lists - I'm still kicking myself for not getting the Princess Bride funko pops when I was at the Everett store but unless I really love them, I don't collect them. If that makes sense. I know it when I see it? And I usually add it to a list? There are a lot of fandom pins, for example, on my etsy jewelry faves from Firefly, HP, Brave, Buffy, etc. I love Nightmare Before Christmas and love the cookie jars. Hot Topic usually has a new one every year? Or used to, I haven't been shopping for the past four or five years so my collection is very small and all packed up. How do you feel about tea? Preferences? Would you want anything from David's Tea (https://www.davidstea.com/us_en/home/), Steepologie (https://www.steepologie.com/), Bird & Blend (https://birdandblendtea.com/us_en/), or do you have a favorite tea maker to suggest? What about tea tools or cups? YESSSSS I have things from Bird and Blend, David's Tea, Mariage Freres, Dammann Freres, Harney & Sons, Stephen Smith Tea, etc. on my amazon Beverages wish list. Oh! And I love Blackthorn Hoodoo Tea, I should add some of those. As far as tools go, I have a variable temperature electric tea kettle, multiple tea pots, and a couple of ingenuitea type tea strainers so I'm probably good. Please for the love of god no more coffee or tea cups unless they are specifically on a wishlist. Oh, I do have some ice tea pitchers / infusers and water bottles on my wishlist. There was one kind that had a screw off bottom so you could fill it with ice easily but I can't remember where I saw it at. Any water bottles need to be stainless/aluminum and preferably dishwasher safe. I do kind of want another black iron japanese style tea pot but they're never large enough for me. How do you feel about fragrant things for the home like incense, candles, atmosphere spray? I love pillow spray! Would love to try the low smoke incense from Shoyeido (all of the scents sound fine.) I don't burn candles very often because of my respiratory disease but I do love Sihaya & Co's candles - I burned one during our recent four day power outage and it didn't irritate my lungs so I am hopeful. Would love Black Roses, Samhain Dusk, Celtic Twilight, I am Here I am Whole, Long Distance Hug. I rarely use atmosphere spray because I don't want to choke the dogs. I have three or four boxes of it (BPTP) in my closet. Do you share your home with any loved ones (human, feline, canine, etc.) who might enjoy a tiny treat too? My dogs always love treats! I also have pigs, goats, and sheep but they are all totally spoiled and love bananas, so I think they're set.
9/12/20 Does anyone like the prints or items from www.ElissaMarieCreative.com ? I have a few of her prints and the notebooks and they are quality! I kind of like some of the art work but the color palette is very much not me. (and I'm getting full walls for artwork and don't use notebooks.) What about www.drawingsbynicole.com? Anything specific? Nope. Does anything from www.vapidlacquer.com stick out to you? Sugar Scrub or Body Mist both sound nice. Sugared Rose, Continuity for the Body Mist. Available scent notes are missing for the sugar scrubs. Maybe Butter Beer or Vanilla Vixen? I do pour painting/acrylic fluid art (with varying degrees of success, haha). Would you like a custom piece in colors of your choice (takes 3-4 weeks with curing, longer if you want it sealed, so it would arrive post-round if custom) or a piece already finished in my collection? I have mostly 12 x 12 and 10 x 10s right now. Pics available upon request! Would love to see what you've got. My walls are getting full of art already and I have a ton more to hang up that I need frames for (matted for 8x10 artwork from Brian Serway.) I only have a small room in someone else's house and being disabled, I don't know that I'll ever have my own place again. After enjoying looking at the links several others have put in the questions, I decided to add some of my own favorite independent artists who I enjoy supporting - so, what do you think of the goodies from these people? And specific items you love? Enjoy! 1) https://www.catcoven.com/ -- Creature of the Night silver pin. Curious Wanderer Silver pin. 2) https://www.mineralgypsy.com -- I love crystals. Anything you'd think I'd like. 3) https://www.redbubble.com/people/thelatestkate/shop -- Super cute but bright. I could actually use a new ipad case but I need the kind that doubles as a stand (I have an older iPad air.) I'd say a water bottle but none of her water bottle designs call to me. 4) https://www.marikapaz.com/shop/ - would totally take sheets of stickers to decorate packages with. 5) https://www.faunwood.com - nothing really. 6) https://www.shannatrumbly.com/ - I really don't need any prints right now and the stickers are pretty expensive. 7) https://fiddlersgreenzine.com - are these zines? I love the style (very Tolkien) but don't really like zines. 8 ) https://www.hedgespokenpress.com - I really don't need any prints right now One of the things I do is make nifty things from sweaters that I cut up & upcycle into things like super warm mittens, arm warmers, striped arm warmers, cowls, teapot cozies, & French press cozies. I don't have a slipper I love yet, but I'm working on it. So, which of these things might you like? Give me some thoughts on colors you like & if for a teapot or press, I need to know a size. TBH, I am too hot 99.99999% of the time and I'm a knitter, mom is a knitter/crocheter, and I absolutely do not need anything to wear that would be warm (except maybe some nordic style pajama socks.) I don't need either a teapot or french press cozy. I am super picky about my cowls. But if you're a knitter or crocheter and want to make me something, I have a bundle on Ravelry called "make for me!" filled with thing to knit (all kinds of colorwork and stuff) or crochet (mostly amigurumi but also some top hats) Warning -- all of the fox stuff is for my mom. So if I receive any of that, she will get it. I do wear socks, fingerless miits and double length cowls or long cresecent shawlettes. I don't wear knitted hats or choke-y cowls or smoke rings or mittens or triangle shaped shawls. Feets are huge, size 11w. Hands are also huge. If you knit socks for me I REALLY REALLY need a stretchy cast on (if cuff down socks) or bind off (if toe up socks.) And both the stretchy cast on AND bind off for mitts. (I use Jeny's for both, myself, although a cable cast on is usually stretchy enough too.) I think the stretchy thing is one of those tics of being autistic. (shrug) I enjoy historical reproductions and am a fan of LBCC Historical Apothecary. Is there something in her store you might be interested in? I'm not really into vintage-y type stuff and I really don't like things in round tins (especially lip stuff.) The Rose scented ink is the coolest but I don't write at all! I can still type and knit, but my hands don't like writing for more than a few words on a note. The Egyptian Geranium EO or the Organic Clove Bud EO both caught my eye but I don't really have a pressing need for EO's right now. Maybe a large loofa sponge? Oh! 4 Thieves Vinegar! Ok, the 1896 Cleopatra's Enamel looks interesting too. 9/13/20 Do you have a favorite art style/movement/artist? I think I talked about it in my original answers. But since I don't really need any artwork right now... Who is your fashion icon(s)? I don't know that I have any particular fashion icons. I'm mostly attracted to gothy/fetishy/industrial mixes of clothing and makeup but I am too lazy to dress that way myself most of the time. What is your favorite mythological creature? Anything equine really (I used to collection tons of unicorn/pegasus figures but they're all packed up. I love hippocampus too!) as well as grotesques and gargoyles. And Krampus. And Black Philip. is there anything you want from Lush? always. like every single bat bath bomb!! ALL OF THEM! I have other stuff from LUSH on my Amazon Bath, Body, Fragrance wish list. Do you need any astrological work done, since thats one of my professions? Any particular areas you could utilize a consultation? This would be fun if Holly was my Witch. But I don't know my birth time and my mom can't find my baby book. How do you feel about the homemade fudge I sell in my etsy shop? https://www.etsy.com/shop/HollysRainbow -particular preferences, flavors (consider I take special flavor requests all the time!)? No nuts, Penuche!!!!! And the apple pie fudge!!!!!!! *sad grabby hands towards all the fudge* How do you feel about keto or sugar-free, low carb baked goods or treats?? I'm ok with real sugar, butter, cream. I try to avoid corn syrup. I'm also ok with coconut sugar and alternatives, but I prefer using castor sugar or brown sugar in things. My mom makes a lot of alternative, gluten free, oil free, low sugar stuff so I already have access but that doesn't mean I wouldn't want any from my Witch if that is their specialty - I just don't require it? 9/14/20 Anything you'd like from Future Primitive: https://futureprimitivesoap.co.uk I am interested in the Bath Salts, Shampoo Bar, Sugar Scrubs, and Whipped Soap (especially if you want to send something for my son - he LOVES their whipped soap and uses it for shaving - Ghost Smoke is his fave.) Scents that sound good are: Festival Four & Twenty Blackbirds OM Rook & Raven Sylph White Witch Lughnasadh The Gloaming GHOST SMOKE Do you have an Etsy wishlist? Yes, I believe it is linked both on the Switch Witch Spreadsheet and on my Switch Witch Help (both are in signature.) And I put it here for ease as well. ❤️ ETSY FAVES. That being said, once an item is sold out I am unable to remove it from the sorted lists which drives my virgo heart absolutely crazy. So make sure to check the "show only available items" when looking through lists. It's a major bug and the only way around it is to make a new list, add all of the items you want to it, and delete the old list. I wanted to share this link to a soapmaker I love and ask if y'all see anything you would like from them! https://www.herbneden.com/ No bar soap, but I would up for trying the bath salts, scrubs, facial stuff, etc. I put a bunch on my amazon bath, body, fragrance list for fun. Some of them are kind of spendy but the bath salts and masks aren't too bad. Nui Cobalt Designs perfumes...(just got her latest email): How about the scents being discontinued? The Critters? https://nuicobaltdesigns.com/collections/critters-2020?page=1 or other ones? Nah, I'm good. I have so much perfume and no more veins. 9/15/20 I have a friend who does pet caricatures. He's done ones for all of my pets. Is this something you would be interested of for your pet(s)? Not caricatures, no. Do you decorate seasonally/for holidays? Is there anything in particular you would like to that end? My room is always filled with bats and skulls and skeletal things and gargoyles. I would love Nightmare Before Christmas ornaments and especially the new Pumpkin King tree topper (Hallmark.)
Would you like anything from House of Gloi, especially from their Autumn Update? (https://www.hausofgloi.com/collections/fall-1) The Fancy Witch body powder sounds nice. Black Rose or Marshmallow butterbombs. Do they not do whipped soap anymore? I'm trying to avoid sugar scrubs right now because I'm battling skin infections and I don't think sugar helps. Prefer oily/salt scrubs. I know the tea question has been asked, but what, specifically, about Adagio teas? mmm tea Samples are great. Loose leaf. If you wanted to create a blend for me with your own artwork, that would be fun! (I don't like mate, pu-erh, or rooibos/honeybush) Lapsang, Cream, Butterscotch, Clove? This is Hallowen (by Bran Mydwnter) https://www.adagio.com/signature_blend/blend.html?blend=96188

Throat Therapy What about anything tempting from Dandelion Chocolate? (https://store.dandelionchocolate.com/pages/home) Sea Salt Caramels Chocolate Covered Almonds Dandelion Chocolate Chip Cookie Anything from the Pantry & Baking - nibs, chips, chef's chocolate. (Tiffin is one of my favorite things and I like to make it out of "good" chocolate instead of plain chocolate chips.) 9/16/20 Would you, my dear Witchee, like anything from April Gloom? https://www.etsy.com/shop/AprilGloom (this is our @spookygrrrly - switch witch code coming soon to a spreadsheet near you.) I'd really super love a planchette / skull pendant from her but I love her cute pins too. Would you enjoy anything from my friend Brian's Etsy shop? https://www.etsy.com/shop/BrianSerwayArt? I have sooooo many of his prints. I really need some matted (white mat, black frame) for 8x10 for all of his artwork that I haven't hung up yet. The only one I super want in stock right now is I Am No Man.
Are you a sock person? If so what are your favourite kinds to wear? Do you have a sockdreams wishlist? The sockdream's wishlists are shareable!! I don't actually like wearing socks but I *DO* need some new ones. I'd love a bunch of black cotton footie socks! Also black cotton crew would be good. I have size 11w feet, so they can't be "one size fits most." I think I put a bunch of sockdreams stuff under my SW Help (in signature.) If you're not near one, is there anything from Trader Joe's you'd like? I'm near one! I can't think of anything I super want that I can't get myself. How do you feel about local items from my city, like spicy (think chili) things or local coffee? The coffee is not spicy lol. I love dark roast coffee but right now it needs to be k-cups. I love green chiles! I have a bunch of chile stuff on my amazon cooking and kitchen and snack wishlists. do you have good feelings about Funko Pop? I don't collect them just to collect them but I have gotten a few that I love. I have the Goblin King, Death, Demogorgon, Jack Skellington. Would love The Man in Black (Princess Bride) and/or Inigo Montoya -- I'm still kicking myself for not buying some when I was at the flagship store in Everett last time. Would love Black Philip. I can't remember if I have a Krampus already or not. Candles! Anything from these places catch your fancy? https://cantripcandles.com/collections (restocks Friday 9/18 at 9:00 PST) https://miruscandles.com/collections https://briarwickcandles.com/collections without knowing if they would irritate my lungs or not, I'm going to have to say no. I love candles; I am a chandler ffs. But my stupid lungs and chronic respiratory disease! Argh!!! 9/17/20 Is there something from your fandom that popped up in another country you'd be particularly interested in? What, and what store? I'm not sure! I don't have any disposable income so I don't really go looking. Would you be interested in some boozy chocolates (or anything else) from https://www.chocolatemoonshine.com/ ? I'm always interested in boozy chocolates but this site does say that all of their chocolates are non-alcoholic. The Creme Brulee and Black Cherry Bourbon fudge look interesting - how much do you get for $20, I wonder? (You can get a pound of Penuche fudge from Holly with free shipping to the US for $20... just saying... and it's SO. FRICKING. GOOD. and the apple pie!!! She could probably try her hand at any custom flavor.) 9/18/20 Witchee, assuming you like home made/home canned condiment goodies, what is your spice level preference? I'm a bit of a spice wimp - maybe as high as cayenne (30-50k) but assume I'm eating it with sour cream or cream cheese or something to cut the heat a bit. I like flavor more than just heat. Would you be interested in anything from Cellar Door Bath Supply Co.? The name makes me laugh because so totally Donnie Darko. Sadly all of their bath salt is sold out and the scents are pretty generic anyway. Much more interested in Luv Milk milk baths. 9/19/20 Lilith are up! Is there anything from the release that you want? Decant or full bottles? I don't really like (or ever use) decants, I'm a full bottle kind of person. Aoede, Melete, Mneme - Sugared cream, vanilla husk, white sandalwood, and flecks of caramel. Baby’s First Ballista - oakwood, vanilla bean, and sugar cookies.
Boop - Lavender cream, puppy paws, white patchouli, and honey dust.
Between Classes - Fleece spiderwebs, lavender mist, and pink carnations.
Perfectly Normal Childhood - spun sugar, vanilla marshmallows, cardamom, and cake batter.
Rose Quartz Bedroom - Sugared vanilla rose with saffron, white musk, and Lilith’s favorite lavender.
Sentence First, Verdict Afterwards - white roses, tea roses, climbing roses, blood red roses, and a cluster of thorns, blood-spattered and sword-sharp, with clove bud and tobacco flower. Thunk -teakwood, tobacco, iron, and pine tar.
Two Frames - buttercream-frosted sprinkle cupcakes and a sprig of lavender. Velut Luna Statu Variabilis - ylang ylang, pink vanilla, carnation chypre, and red benzoin.
Metal Twins - Vanilla cake batter (she only wants the batter!) and flan. How would you feel about recipes? You should share them in our BPAL recipe group on facebook?! (whatever happened to our recipe / cookbook area or was that the old forum?) Would anyone be interested in anything from Bucees?! It’s a magical giant beaver gas station/shop! It has spices, fudge, Knick knacks, all things Texas, candy, beef jerky, roasted nuts, and of course beavers! Most things like the fudge and nuts are made in house. No beavers, thx. 9/20/20 How do you guys store your decants so they are not a confused mess? If you've got a system, please share it. I store mine in 100 count ammo boxes and use a grid spreadsheet. 9/21/20 I'm a knitter. I have some knitted washcloths done, and can knit up more. Would you like some? Also, if answered soon enough, I can maybe get a scarf done. Would you like one? What colors would you like? Thin or thick? With or without fringe? Are you allergic to any fibers - wool, cashmere, angora, alpaca? I think I have answered this one multiple times. Anything from my Make for Me bundle is great. No scarves. No washcloths. I prefer merino, merino cashmere, or merino silk cashmere. Bamboo is great for socks. No alpaca or llama. Meh on angora. Absolutely no acrylic except for amigurumi. Witchee, darling, there's a *slight* chance I might be going on a trip next week and *might*, in the course of this trip, have access to Disneyworld goodies from Epcot and Magic Kingdom - any stuff you might desire? WHAT ABOUT HARRY POTTER WORLD?!?! ALL THE CHOCOLATE FROGS!!!!!!! Obviously I like Nightmare Before Christmas stuff -- especially canisters and plates/bowls from Disney. No coffee cups though unless they have really large ceramic or stainless travel mugs with a lid (large = 18-20oz.) I like enameled pins and buttons too. Large oversize hoodies and zip up hoodies but those are probably getting pricey. Would take Haunted Mansion or NMBC pandora type charms for my leather bracelet. NMBC or Haunted Mansion pens -- the HM pen is purple with a bat on the end! YES. 9/22/20 Would you like any of Snag Tights’ Halloween offerings and if so, what size? maybe footless tights or chub rub shorts. Probably a G because I'm a 20/22 and I'm tall. Sigh. Black, purple, skulls, bats... anything gothy. Do you prefer getting one or two really nice/more expensive things or several smaller/less expensive little things? Or do you have no preferance? Whatever my Witch prefers! Witchee, do you like tea? If so, what kind? Srsly? *looks at huge tea wishlists* Witchee, do you want anything? Shirts, mugs, postcards from Anarchist Seattle, Portland, or New York.... https://www.redbubble.com/people/litlnemo/shop?artistUserName=litlnemo Would you be interested in a gently-used tarot deck (or other oracle)? If so, toss out some styles you gravitate towards, cause I have SO MANY DECKS and I'd love to send one or more along! I'd love the Dark Wood tarot from Abigail Larson. Or some runic sets. Or one of the tarot sets from The Creeping Wood. The Phantomwise Tarot is like my holy grail, I wish Erin Morgenstern would make more.
Are you interested in receiving a burned CD of music? If so, name of genres, artists, styles that you are into or would like more of to explore. Sure! I mostly love darkwave and gothy stuff. Do you have an Amazon wishlist? If you do and you're ok with getting stuff from it, please share the link! Yes, it's already been shared multiple times in multiple places, lol. SO I KNOW YOU'RE NOT MY WITCH. Unless this is some kind of reverse psychology. Pumpkin/pumpkin spice – yay or nay? Yay in food/drinks but nay in other products (soaps, perfumes, etc.) or vice versa? What are your thoughts? I love the spices that are in "pumpkin spice" but I don't love the way that people think it needs to be orange or to have actual pumpkin in it? It's not about the pumpkin. It's about the clove, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, etc.!!! I dearly love clove, please all of the clove scented and flavored things. But meh on "pumpkin spice" stuff because it's usually not. Candy corn – love it or loathe it? Or just don’t care much one way or another? HISSSS *holds up cross* *drops cross when it burns her hand* BACK EVIL ONE! BACK! 9/23/20 https://www.poesieperfume.com/loose-leaf-tea <---- would you be interested in receiving tea and / or scents from Poesie? Tea, yes. Scents, probably not. Trying to cut back on the perfume that is taking over my room! Most of their tea sounds great except no yerba mate, no rooibos/honeybush, no chamomile please. I have been remiss--witchee (or anyone needing a minion), I am notorious for homemade caramels, shortbreads both savory and sweet, and catnip/catnip laced toys. I've also started playing with homemade marshmallows and fruit candies. Any interest? I will always accept homemade tasty things! I especially love chocolate shortbread and would love to try a savory one. Love caramels. Would totally take homemade marshmallows. Love candied fruit peel and fruits! 9/25/20 I happen to live near this amazing place. Do you have any interest is anything that I could pick up there? The have hand made pottery, cookie molds, cookbooks with historical recipes all sorts of good stuff. https://www.gcv.org/shop/ Not my time period! I prefer older medieval type things. 10/1/20 Would you be interested in anything from KBShimmer's new Fall nail polish collection or their Falloween collection? No. But I do love their magnetic multichrome polish in other colors! And I could totally use a nail strengthener because my thumb nail keeps splitting. And then of course I need base coats, holographic topper coats, and quick dry top coats. Dang, gets expensive fast!! (but I added some to my Bath, Body, Fragrance amazon wishlist anyway.) 10/3/20 Witchee, darlin', anything appeal from this goth-metal-Satanic Tea company, Pitch Black North? https://www.pitchblacknorth.com/category/all-tea Breath of Demons (natch), Antichrist Pumpkin Spice, Coconut Chai (in that order.) The Vanilla Earl Grey would be my last choice as everything else has chamomile or mint. 10/4/20 the other day I found the pattern I made for a small crocheted skull. I have made some before and included some herbs and oils and such, things that both smell good and are said to carry protective virtues, in the stuffing, and hooked them up to hang in a vehicle or such. Would any of y'all like one of those? UM, DUH. YES. 10/5/20 is anyone a Daredevil fan?? I'm going to be working with Christopher Brewster who is Daredevil in the suit (i.e. the stunt performer but not the FACE of the actor... but when the suit is on... its Brewster). I worked with him on something else... and he was super cool... excited to get to work with him again... but if that's anyone's fandom... I wanna know LOL All the men in tight leather suits please. And Charlie Cox!! 10/12/20 Darling witchee, would you like a candle or other goodies from Last Craft? https://lastcraftdesigns.com/ um, hello my pretties!! pins, stickers, or patches: Robert Smith, Goth Eyes, Strange as Angels, Enjoy the Silence. Bowie. Would totally take Strange as Angels womens t in 2xl. Love Cats lace locks. Candles: Saint Robert, Buffy, Trent Reznor (Emperor of Dirt), RBG NEW WAVE TAROT CARDS Better Off Dead Screen Print!!!! (I WANT MY TWO DOLLARS)
13 Nights of Halloween 2021 edition
https://www.etsy.com/shop/CaitlinMcCarthyArt -- I like The Faun (Straight out of Pan's Labyrinth.)
https://www.etsy.com/shop/BatinYourBelfry -- oooh! Plague Doctor pin! The Black Dog Runs at Night (TWIN PEAKS YESSS), Hour of the Wolf pin (OINGO BOINGO!), GHOST STEED PIN, ok, there are a lot. I added them to my etsy wishlists under stickers, pins, and art. I love Krampus, Black Philip, Mari Lwyd, etc. Prefer FRAMED if possible, SILVER colored things... I make beautiful and very lightweight yarn-and-ribbon hairfalls - would you like a set in the colors and length of your choice? If yes, name up to four colors and length in inches! Black, silver, purple, blue! ummmmmmm I'm not sure on length. Would you appreciate a skein of handspun yarn? If yes, what weight? What colors? How do you feel about beads? Any allergies to typical fibers? It depends -- plied, yes (not a fan of singles.) Semi solid or gradients. Fingering (500-600 yards preferred), DK, Worsted, whatev. I prefer blacks, greys, purples, blues, blurples, blackened red (like MadTosh's Tart), jewel tones. No neons or pastels. I have 6/0 beads but I don't make beaded things (with knitting) very often. O_o I'm very allergic to acrylic. I really prefer merino and silk. Now, larger beads for bracelet and necklace making is totes different. I would love beads made from stones (obsidian, rainbow obsidian, labradorite, amethyst, hematite... anything silver, black, purple, blue, green.) Do you like stickers? Patches? Buttons? Yes, meh, maybe. Pins for sure. Do you spend time in the outdoors? Unfortunately? It's freaking HOT or freaking COLD here. Neither of which I enjoy. Also I have chronic respiratory issues and the smoke is awful here. I have N95's just to go outside to feed the animals. I miss the Western side of the state. Do you enjoy cooking and/or baking? Yes, but rarely get to do it since I'm staying with family and one of them is a total kitchen / food control freak. 8/13/21 The Paintbox Soapworks Weenie collection went live today! Would you like anything? Fairytale in Bath Struesel or Sorbetto! Hex on the Beach bath streusel or Sorbetto! I've always wanted some of the Clean Slate scrub too! Other favorite scents are GTFO and Blackbird. Any of the sorbettos in the sample size is great. Red Cow bath streusel sounds amazing as well. And Rice Pudding. OMG, Man in the Moon! Queen is Dead! The Pickety Witch is taking pre-orders for their new Halloween pins (estimated ship date: early September). Have any caught your eye? I love them!!! Vampire Bat enamel pin and Black Phillip - Autumnal are probably my favorites. I've had Black Philip on my wishlist for years now, lol. Vampire Bat looks new! Zeep's Spooky Collection drops some time next week. Here's the scent list. Would you like any wax melts, candles, whipped soaps, sugar whips (whipped soap/scrub hybrid), body butter sugar scrubs (moisturizing scrub), meringues (lotion), bath bombs, or bath rocks from Zeep? I have never tried Zeep! Bath bombs, bath rocks, whipped soap, sugar whips, and body butter sugar scrubs all sound amazing, assuming no parabens, phthalates, SLS, etc. I do have a wax burner too! The scents that sound good to me are: Boo-nilla Scream, Hocus-Pocus, Jack-O-Lantern, Season of the Witch, Candy Corn Sugar Cookie. Wax: Ghost Stories, Haunted Mansion, Halloweentown, Fireside Pumpkin, Candy Corn Cake, Pumpkin Queen, Salem. 8/14/21 Does anyone here like vintage halloween?
Sometimes - I'm into bats, crows, skeletons - so vintage of those is fine. I don't care for the vintage cats / moon / people. Vintage Krampus is perfect. But y'know, for Yule time. It seems like a lot of shops’ Halloween lines have items related to the same standard fandoms, such as The Nightmare Before Christmas, Hocus Pocus, Disney’s Haunted Mansion, Beetlejuice, Addams Family, etc. Do any of those (or other ones) particularly resonate with you? I'm not a huge fan of Hocus Pocus but I love the rest (except Beetlejuice -- I like Lydia and other things from the movie, but not Beetlejuice himself, lol. They did way too good a job of making him hideous.) NMBC is my fav and I love the Haunted Mansion and Addam's Family. How do you feel about atmospheric/novelty scents and novelty food items? Things like "new car candle" or "eyeball jawbreaker" or whatever. I'm not too excited about "new car" scent but if, say, it's in a pack with other stuff I like -- like the car jar pack I have on my wishlist from Yankee Candles then yes. I like the non-harry potter brand butter beer stuff that comes out around halloween - I might have one a year just for fun (I *rarely* drink carbonated things.) Meh on novelty candy. If you like tea, how do you want it delivered? Loose? Bags? Tiny little messenger pigeons (subject to availability)? I prefer loose leaf tea and I can always use more 32 oz tea brewers that dispense out the bottom, like the ingenuiTEA. Would you prefer to receive ONE HUGE (more expensive) GIFT and 12 inexpensive ones, a few more expensive, or all about the same price? I'll let it up to my 13 Nights curator! What are your fandoms, if any? Firefly, NMBC, Doctor Who, LOTR, The Locked Tomb, Labyrinth, Princess Bride, V for Vendetta, Sandman, sooo many more in past blogs that I can't remember off the top of my head. Witcher, Umbrella Academy... Do you collect things like tarot decks? If so do you have a wish list or a list of ones you already have? Would you like a silk tarot bag? I have: Crow Tarot, Wise Dog Tarot, NMBC, Game of Thrones, Last Unicorn, and a Vampire deck somewhere. I would love the Dark Wood tarot! And I'd love a silk tarot bag or charging crystal slabs. Do you like rocks/crystals? What colors / kinds? Would you like them with holes drilled (either as a pendant - you'd need to stick a bale in, or a bead?) yes! all of them! Especially black moonstone, moonstone, howlite, carnelian, sodalite, rose quartz, blue green kyanite, rhodonite, black heart rhodonite, garnet, black opal, mystic merlinite, zebra jasper, crocodile jasper, red tiger's eye, lepidolite, lapis, dragon blood jasper, lemurian crystal, malachite, septarian, ruby kyanite, citrine, ruby, garnierite, rubellite, dumortierite, black kyanite fan, labradorite, spectralite, aqua aura, hematite... anything blue, purple, grey, black, rainbow-y or that has helpful properties. So like, everything. I like palm stones, towers, pocket pebbles, spheres, bowls, pendants, beads / holes drilled, cabs, chunks, druzy, everything! My mom has an etsy store - she makes bags. Do you love anything from it? I love all kinds of project bags, dice bags, bpal bags. I adore sugar skulls, bats, ravens, anything gothy. Cotton or canvas with satin lining. Silk. yesss. I pick out a lot of the fabric for the store (hence all of the skulls and NMBC and mystic things, so you can see an idea of what I like.) Let's say you want something knitted. What are you most interested in? I have a "make for me" list on Ravelry, lol. * What colors would you prefer said knitted object in? black, grey, purple, blue, blurples, greens, blackened reds, jewel tones. No navy, orange, yellow, brown, cream. * Stripes, gradient, semi solid, variegated? Stripy mitts or socks, gradient mitts, shawls, shawlettes, infinity scarves/double cowls. semi solid is good too. * What type of yarn would you prefer? I prefer merino, merino silk, mcs. mcn is ok. I love tencel shawls or shawlettes too. Are you interested in receiving any of the following homemade / home dried / home canned goodies? YES. I would love to try almost anything!! lawardrop makes spectacular canned goodies too. 8/16/21 How do you feel about oracle decks? I have a kickstarter one on order - The Knitters Oracle. Haven't used any other ones but I'm open. Would you like witchy/ritual oils/sundries? Any limitations (e.g. deities you won't work with)? yes! I have only worked with Hecate and Expedite. Open to any. Is there anything you would like to try from the UK specifically? (e.g. Lush exclusives) OMG YES. Bird & Blend tea, LUSH, Whittard tea, chocolate -- I'll add things to my Amazon wish lists (tea is under beverages, chocolate under snacks, LUSH under bath / body.) My son loves future primitive's ghost smoke whipped soap! I hope they make some this year, last year they only did soap and conditioner. Oh, and are you into astrology? Not super, as I don't know my birth time. I've always wanted my chart done accurately. (Virgo. Metal dog.) What size shoe do you wear (inc wide/narrow, etc)? It depends on the shoe! Most fluevogs women's 12 or larger except a couple styles that are 11. Most other unisex type shoes are probably men's 9, women's 11. Women's shoes are probably a 12. So weird because I was a women's 10 forever and all of my 10's still fit me? I'm probably wide since my feet are swollen - kidney issues, whee. Do you like/would you want to receive comic books? Any favorite genres or characters? Nah. Graphic novel compendiums are great and I have some on my amazon wish list but they're $$$. Would you like a palm stone, or anything else, from Haute Macabre? OF COURSE. Witche's Cross pocket pebble, moonstone, black moonstone, howlite, carnelian, sodalite, rose quartz, blue green kyanite, rhodonite, black heart rhodonite, garnet, black opal, mystic merlinite, zebra jasper, crocodile jasper, red tiger's eye, lepidolite, lapis, dragon blood jasper, lemurian crystal, malachite, septarian, ruby kyanite, citrine, ruby, garnierite, rubellite, dumortierite, black kyanite fan. Any of the spheres, palm stones, pocket pebbles, or whatever! (I have spider's web obsidian, velvet obsidian, shungite, fluorite, selenite, black tourmaline. I can always use more obsidian though, especially the flat scrying mirrors or crescent moon shape, they're just kind of spendy. I love towers too, but again they're probably out of the price range for this swap.) Would love to try Velvet Void, It Wasn't Just a Phase, Occultism. There are tons of other things I'd love too but my wish list there seems to have disappeared -- I logged in and checked, has all of my orders but my wish list is gone. argh! What's your favorite flower(s)? Pretty much everything purple, blue, black, and super fragrant? (or white for a moonlight garden, also fragrant.) I like tulips and bearded irises in the spring (same colors), lilacs, grandiflora / floribuna / rugosa / tea roses (must be my fav colors AND/OR super fragrant, lol.) Lavender of all kinds. Star gazer lilies. What's you favorite woodland creature? Unicorns! Do you prefer receiving a big box with all of your goodies, or is it okay if one or two things are shipped directly to you separately (with notice!!) for customs/shipping cost purposes (i.e. if there's something customs might not allow in from the States that can be shipped from within your country)? It's ok if they're shipped separately as long as I know not to open them. Would you like a fabric face mask? If so, do you prefer a dome shape or a pleated shape? I like really large pleated ones, I don't think I've had a dome shaped. I prefer ties over ear elastics as those never fit me. I have a literal stockpile of skincare products. Can I interest you in cleanser, sheet masks, moisturizer, sample things etc etc.? Or a general pampering package? What is your skin type? So I *just* started doing a new face regimen with products from The Ordinary so I kind of want to stick with their things for a while and see how they work. I have their cleanser and so many serums. Anything from here? ChocolateStorybook on Etsy any of the cake / vanilla / classic / cottontail / unicorn / blue raspberry -- I added to etsy wishlist under noms. I have been enjoying the incense from here hand-dipped incense sticks | Hexennacht and here Hand-dipped incense sticks | Mr. Hex (mr-hex.com) Any thing interesting from either site? Hexennacht: All Soul's Night - molten marshmallow blobs on scorched sticks, plumes of woodsmoke, and hot, glowing campfire embers on a cool autumn night. Calm the Fuck Down (essential oil blend) - lavender, vanilla, ylang ylang, bergamot, aged dark patchouli. (would be nice in atmosphere spray too) Tabac - fresh tobacco leaves, unlit pipe tobacco, blonde tobacco absolute. Mr Hex: Catto Va-meow-ah (Tobacco Vanille - Tom Ford type) Witch's Mew (Yankee Candle - Witch's Brew type) 8/16/21 Would you like some delicious coffee? If so, do you prefer whole bean or ground? If ground, what grind? Also, light or dark roast? Flavor preferences? If it's super special, sure! I do love flavored coffee so if you have any whole beans from your local special coffee shop I would try some! Dark roast. Cinnamon, Irish cream, orange chocolate, hazelnut, black forest. When I lived in Toronto I would always go into second cup for Irish cream! And when visiting upstate new york (well, business more than visit) I stayed in a hotel across from an awesome coffee shop that had the best chocolate orange and Black Forest, so I brought home beans. I may be going to the Renaissance Fair this weekend (if not this weekend then soon and multiple times), any Ren Faire goodies you may like? Always! I can't think of anything specific but I love love love ren faires and shopping at them. Sometimes I buy buttons, torcs, leather goods, rings, etc. I get a lovely metal rose at the Colorado Ren Faire. (I collect nice roses made of different materials like leather or metal.) I got purple horns at one in Maryland. (shrug)
I always go to my town's local Farmer's Market and they have booths selling things like candles, Gourmet Pickles, Flavored Oils and Vinegars, dog treats (like bones and animal feet), honey, and bath products. Would you like any of these things? HONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love dill pickles. ALL THE DILL PICKLES. And dill pickled garlic. I do love flavored basalmic vinegar (white or natural), especially if it's super thick. I have orange and huckleberry from one of our local vinegar peeps. (no oils please.) No bar soap. Bath bombs and other products are welcome as long as they are clean (no SLS / parabens / phthalates, etc. etc.) My dogs would love dog treats. Do you have a preference for numbered packages for each night of the swap vs randomly selecting from unlabeled goodies? Don't have a preference. If you didn't say much about your reading preferences in your survey but would be interested in receiving books, can you elaborate a bit? My goodreads and amazon book wish list should tell you. *wink* prefer ebooks (strong preference to .mobi but I can do .epub if necessary) unless I posted them on my wishlist as hard copy or whatnot. Mostly epic fantasy with some urban fantasy and sci-fi thrown in. A little cyberpunk. Are you interested in cocktails, be it recipes, infusion kits, tools, supplies, specialty bitters? Mmmmmmm infusion kits and samples of alcohol would be awesome. I had a big list of samples I wanted to try on one of my older blog posts. 8/18/21 Is there something that you definitely prefer to not receive in any category (anything to avoid if you hadn't/forgotten to mention)? Bar soap, candles of unknown quality (sihaya ones seem ok for me, but I have major chronic respiratory issues and inexpensive candles seem to exacerbate my symptoms), anything with food color, corn syrup, added msg, artificial sweeteners (other than stevia.) I try to only do fair trade /organic / ethical chocolate. There is a list of good chocolate companies at the ethical chocolate link and I have a ton on my amazon snacks list too. Ummmm no acrylic yarn; any yarn you find at a big box craft store is probably not something I want - sorry! I have like 1,000+ skeins of yarn so I am uber picky. I think I'm overloaded on lip balm right now. Are there patterns/prints (more guidance than general Halloween/Autumn) you like for things or are you open to whatever I may find that speaks to me? I have tons of prints on my etsy and amazon wishlist under artwork lists. What I really need though are FRAMES. I have sooo many prints from Brian Serway that I haven't had a chance to hang yet because I am out of 8x10 matted frames and I don't have an income right now, so frames are kind of a non priority. So if you send a print and it isn't framed, it will go into hibernation with the rest of my non framed art. I have lots of knitting patterns on my ravelry wishlist but ... I haven't been knitting lately and I have over 14k patterns. But of course I do always want to knit the new stuff that just came out because dorky brain. And then none of my 1k skeins of yarn will be right for it and I'll need new yarn! It is known! Any significant other or other special person? Like if I wanted to send you specialty cocoa for a date night, would that be OK? I am making up the cocoa part, but you get my drift. Nope. Unless you count my dogs, they both sleep under the covers with me and are pretty much my platonic life partners. I'm also currently living with my parents (in their late 70's), my son (early 30's) and his friend who is on this forum (their alias here is chase.) We also have goats, sheep, and pigs. The pigs especially think they are special and people. (lots of photos on my instagram.) I would love to request folks to to put their wish list in this thread and link in their signature. I would love to decant from my oils if I have any my person is looking for! I already have a post in that thread and linked in my sig. I also have a wishlist on my google docs destash page that is probably updated more frequently. *blush* If you happened to list some favorite fandoms earlier, would you also name your favorite character(s) from those fandoms? Death and Delirium (Sandman), The Goblin King natch (Labyrinth), The Man in Black / Westley (Princess Bride) but Inigo is awesome too. Kind of equally V and Evie from V for Vendetta. Lydia Deetz from Beetlejuice. Jack and Zero from Nightmare Before Christmas. Toothless from How to Train your Dragon. Demogorgon from Stranger Things. Everyone from Firefly but especially Wash I guess (I have his dinosaurs. We do make cunning hats tho.) Hmmm 10th doctor. Loki (MCU.) Gideon (Locked Tomb.) Legolas / Arwen / Strider (LOTR.) Geralt & Ciri. (Witcher) Klaus (Umbrella Academy.) Krampus (does he count as a fandom?) Black Philip (again... does he count? lol.) Agent Cooper and his coffee! (Twin Peaks) The Unicorn (Last Unicorn) Cheshire Cat (Alice in Wonderland) Orlando Bloom in everything. Ewan McGregor in Moulin Rouge (but not with the hair cut in Star Wars, lol.) You can probably tell some of them by looking through my wishlists.
8/19/21 Do you have an Amazon link? Can you post it?? yep, it's in my sw help signature link and I posted it again here: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/OITDSSITKNDN?ref_=wl_share
if you are a knitter/crocheter, are you over on Ravelry? If so, what’s your user name there?? yep, misstwilight: https://www.ravelry.com/people/misstwilight 8/20/19 I make homemade fire ciders, would that be of interest? Non-alcoholic and they are quite fiery. Not unless they are super delicious. My mom made a big batch of fire cider once and labeled it as "caution, may make you puke" so no one would drink it. hahaha. We do make our own elderberry syrup (elderberries, honey, apple cider vinegar) so I'm totally not opposed in the slightest to home made remedies and supplements. Are you interested in getting other BPAL items besides perfume, like hair gloss, bath oils or T-shirts? It depends on the scent of hair gloss and bath oil! *wink* I'm going to pass on the t-shirts though, I destashed all of my women's babydoll ones (xxl was too small) and I don't like men's / unisex t-shirts. 8/21/21 So partner, would you be interested in a Frankenbag done in Halloween prints? As long as it's mostly black, purple, etc. with no orange. ALL THE SUGAR SKULLS AND BATS. Y'all with furbabies... Are there any food allergies/sensitivities or quirks to know about? dogs: I avoid anything sourced or produced in china because of all of the things found in dog treats / food that come through. I do try to do grainless and avoid legumes as well. Dried liver or homemade cookies with nut butters and pumpkin (make sure your nut butters do not have any xylitol or artificial sweeteners!) pigs/goats/sheep: They're good. They get lots of things from our garden and a lot of leftover fruit and veggie scraps along with their grain/hay. how do you feel about (ethically sourced) butterfly / moth art (in a jar or shadowbox) They don't bother me but they really aren't my style either. I do have some butterflies in a shadowbox sort of frame (completely sealed) that I got in Panama in 1981 or 1982 or so. Death's Head Hawkmoth might be cool. I recently beheld a "tarantula moth" at our house - he was so cute! (Polyphemus moth - Giant Silk moth!) I may have preemptively picked out 2 Halloween-themed mugs with cute matching spoons, before I knew who my match was going to be! So I leave it to you: Bat, or Cat? I will *always* choose bat over cat but please do not send me mugs unless they are on my wishlist! I am drowning in mugs! I collect the Starbucks City Mugs (although I would prefer the ornament or demitasse size for space reasons) but mostly to drink out of I prefer 18-20 oz mugs (stainless / ceramic) with a lid to keep out the dog hair. 8/22/21 If you mentioned aversions to any common Halloween decor items (skeletons, witches, spiders, etc.), how encompassing is that? Specifically, is a "kid friendly" drawing of that same item on a piece of decor (like, a book cover or wrapping paper) still a preferred pass? I had to go back and look at what I posted for aversions. None! It's just that I prefer stuff I can re-use (wrapping paper / bags) or can have out all year. I use my NMBC shopping bags all freaking year at the grocery store, for example. And I have skulls / skeletons / bats / ravens / gargoyles / grotesques up all year. Not really into witches, spiders, black cats, zombies, or any harvest-y things (fall leaves, pumpkins, orange, corn, scarecrows, etc.) Tim Burton-esque is very much my style with black and white/purple crooked lines, black swirl-y hills, etc. Would you be interested in receiving a never-used eyeshadow palette from Nororiously Morbid (gothy colors) and/or a never-used eyeshadow palette from Pretty Vulgar (romantic neutrals)? I haven't worn eyeshadow for the past four years (I rarely ever leave the house) but .... I do love some smoky eye and gothy colors. 8/23/21 I live in Japan. Are you interested in anything specifically Japanese I could get for you here (doesn't necessarily have to be Halloween themed)? For example, are you a fan of the anime Demon Slayer and want merch? Are you interested in trying some fun kit-kat flavors? Do you need a new set of pretty chopsticks? ALL OF THE KIT KATS. I can get green tea and cranberry nut ones here but any other flavors! yas! I also collect Starbucks City Mugs so if they have any Japanese mugs in that style, would love! Japanese incense! Origami paper! All the things! there is an excellent chance teeturtle will have a sale in time for this swap: anything (particularly tshirts or socks) that appeal? Sizes? I have a bunch of t-shirts on my amazon universal wishlist under clothing. The largest women's size (2x?) Their socks don't fit me unless they've started carrying men's sizes. Honestly their shipping is SUPER slow so I don't know that you would have time to order. Haus of Gloi Fall Part 1 drops soon, anything here you like? https://www.hausofgloi.com/blogs/blog/fall-lineup-2021 I have always wanted to try Ghost Puffs and I have an empty Candy Corn bottle that is amazing! Ghost Puffs: Bubbling Scrub, Eau de Parfum, Butterbombs, REFRESHER SPRAYS! Lip balm (Ghost Kisses!) Candy Corn candy bowl perfume. The Amethyst and Tranquility butter bombs sound good too. 8/24/21 Could you use a journal or sketchbook? No, I don't write - my hands don't work well at writing. I am however trying to start painting (which is funny when I can't write legibly) and I might be able to use some nice watercolor pads and a watercolor set. Or maybe watercolor pens? (I have lots of brushes.) I could also use a starter set of oils. Do you need BPAL storage? Imps? Bottles? Nope, I'm destashing so much that I've been giving away my bottle storage boxes. I'm probably going to sell all of my imps and ammo cases as well. (major respiratory... skin breaking out from perfume... too lazy to change my scent locket all the time...) Do you wear socks? What kind? No show, ankle, knee high, over the knee? Fibers? Hardly ever. Bare feet and sandals the majority of the year except for boots when I go out to feed the animals in the winter (snow from Nov - Feb at LEAST, sometimes September - April.) However, I could use a bunch of nice no show or ankle black cotton. Inexpensive in a pack is totally fine. Do you have a favorite candy(ies) [or prepacked individual snacks] that you wouldn't mind filling up your box as packing material? Or teas/coffee blends you'd enjoy? If you prefer none of this, that's fine too! I think most of the tea and snacks I like would be much too expensive to fill up a box as packing material! Unless you can find a ton of the "iced tea" tea candy (I usually get it at an international market in the Seattle area, DK Market. I have a hard time finding any in the Spokane area but maybe I just haven't found the right place) - it's super light, I put it in my swaps and sales. I'm going down the Shore for a few days! Any treats you'd like from a cute beach town- salt water taffy? Fudge? Wrist fans? Tie-dye beach dress...? What are wrist fans? I want to go with you! A tie dye beach dress could be fun but it would need to be like a size 22. black, purple. How do you feel about fancy marshmallows? They're ok. I haven't been impressed by any that I've tried. But if you could make rose or lavender, I'd be down. Or clove! 8/25/21 We've asked about candy, but let's talk specifically about gummies. Do you like crazy shapes, sweet/sour? Sweet over sour. Don't really care about shapes too much. Usually I just get the Black Forest organic gummy bears at Costco or Wine Gums from World Market. If I splurge and get weird shapes and flavors, I'll soak them in vanilla vodka or something. Anything from these Etsy shops? Kodiak Sea Charms nope Halloween Hill Studio, too pumpkin-y, not enough bat Grave Markings meh, glow in the dark moon is ok. What about the Mutter Museum's gift shop? too spendy. 8/27/21 I grow mugwort and it's harvest season. Would you like dried leaves for bathing or tea? Or a bound bundle for smoke cleansing? (Its said to be excellent for divination or lucid dreaming, but do not use if pregnant.) its also a digestive bitter and tastes great on chicken. I would love more bound bundles and some dried leaves! I grow loads of other herbs and I'm drying them now. Any favorites you might like? Mint, basil, oregano, chives, lemon balm or others? Yesssssssss all of them plus lavender and vervain if there any. I grew a huge load of onions and garlic. Any interest? Hello, yes. ALL THE GARLIC. And Onions. Feathers? I have geese, ducks, peafowl, chickens and quail. So I collect their shed feathers and share them with people I like. ALL THE FEATHERS but especially peacock tail. I grew a boatload of Green Shiso this year and plan to make a shiso pesto with it. Would you like some? (Nut wise it has pistachios) If it is shelf stable, sure! I also plan to experiment with infusing it in vodka. I'm planning a plain shiso infusion and a shiso citrus infusion. If they turn out would you like some? Yes! I love unusual vodkas. 8/28/21 Would you be interested in this hand sanitizer dispenser/keychain that doubles as a light (its eyes light up when you press between its eyes!)? (see photo here) YES ALL THE BATS although really I have no use for a keychain or hand sanitizer dispenser but it's so cute! If you're into tabletop games, what games do you already own, and/or what type are you interested in? I don't really have people to play with very often but I have Unstable Unicorns Control & Chaos (from the kickstarter, not the regular game), Exploding Kittens NSFW version, Talisman (god, that's ancient - I played it before my son was born and he's 31!) I have some games on my amazon wishlist but not very many since ... out in the middle of nowhere, no one to play with except when I can convince my mom and son to play with me. 8/29/21 DO YOU LIKE TRUE CRIME STORIES? Not especially. DO YOU LIKE SEASONAL MAGAZINES ON BAKING AND DECORATING? No, I don't really do magazines unless I want a specific knitting pattern and there is NO other way to get it. If you are enthused by the idea of receiving coffee, do you want whole bean or ground? AND do you have flavors that you like (or definitely hate and never want again)? Whole bean or k-cups. I hate Green Mountain k-cups and most el-cheapo ones. I love Peets, Tim Hortons, Dutch Bros, Deathwish Coffee k-cups. For bean, I love Vivace from Seattle (either of their roasts is fine but I always tend towards the ones described as caramel-y or foody and the darker the better), I can do Starbucks small blends/special blends, some seasonal blends, and Sumatra. (Right now I'm drinking Casi Cielo and I have some Anniversary blend from over a year ago, lol. We just found the grinder so most of my beans are really old but so far they seem fine. shrug.) I've found some chocolate orange, black forest, irish cream, and other flavors that I like at coffee shops - (but never the ones from the grocery store or bulk bins. They SMELL good and I'm always tempted but the coffee I make with them is always nasty.) I'm totally open to trying your favorites. I'll drink medium and blonde too, dark is just my go to. 8/30/21 Would you be interested in some very size-inclusive tights? There are Halloween patterns, but also most colours under the sun, and are very comfy. Not right now, I'm about to start physical therapy, seeing a dietician, etc. and am hoping to lose like 100 lbs, lol. So no new clothes until I am at a new weight! (except t-shirts and hoodies, I don't mind if those are too big.) What about indie chilli sauces/chutneys/jams? What type of chilli/spice level? I like habanero and jalapeno level heat occasionally and I add sour cream if too hot. Chutneys that is harder to do, so maybe way less heat on those. I do love pepper jellies but my dad made like 50 jars of it last time (kind of the bronco berry arby's style) so I'm good for a while but if it's a specialty of yours I would still love to try it! I think I have one jar of plum chutney left so I'm getting low. I was thinking of making some peach but ... not sure yet. I adore spicy dill pickles too, especially with lots of garlic! Dill pickled anything really -- carrots, beans, whatev.
In case anyone else shares a love for adorable tiny plushies, any interest in v soft and cute vegetable/fruit plushies? There are also small animals. My dogs would totally steal them. I do adore tiny goth amigurumi and plushes - egyptian, cthulhu, equines of all sorts, baphomet, black philip... I like the super dark but cuddly. (like the squishables!!) The Polish Pickup/Indie Pickup is live for wishlisting, and will ship in time for this swap (this year). Anything strike your fancy? (It's not just nail polish...there's jewelry and bath scrubs and wax tarts and all manner of things. It's fun!) https://polishpickup.com/ I could use some really good nail strengtheners since my right thumb nail is splitting and won't freaking stop; it's down in the nail bed so I can't cut past the split. I like shimmery and holographic polish but no glitter as I have a hard time getting that off. Only five (seven) free polishes please - I looked through the ingredients and the ones I listed below seem to be ok. Some of the polish on that site is definitely NOT... found some nice colors that contain Ferrocyanide and/or Camphor and/or Toluene. Since I am really picky about clean ingredients, I didn't even look at the other bath and body. * Ring magnet * Paint It Pretty Polish | Party At The Castle * Whatcha | Night Of Mischief * EDK | Halloween's Finest Trick or Treaters 8/31/21 Anything here sound good to you? https://gryffonridge.com/ yes, all the things. Hayden Evens Art has released some new Halloween and Disney-themed prints and stickers. Do any spark your interest? I'll look through and add any to my art / sticker etsy list if I find any. So would you hate or be into more miscreant Halloween vibe decor - like wholesome figurines repainted, creepy dolls, goats with horns, (fake) animal skeletons, things in jars? Is anything too dark, morbid, or recoil worthy? ALL THE GOATS WITH HORNS AND ANIMAL SKELETONS (real or not real.) No room for things in jars and no creepy dolls kthx. I don't really have room for figurines either... mostly for stuff that hangs on doors or walls really. do you use any sorts of semipermanent dyes or do anything fun/wild to your hair? are there any hair products you like? I shave the sides and backs of my head, bleach my hair, dye it bright colors... or just dye it blue or violet black or a wine-red. I love Aveda hair products and Artic Fox hair colors (bright purples, blues, and wine-reds.) what about skincare? i am pretty into k beauty and am curious if others are interested in any aspects of this. Right now I'm using The Original serums and cleanser. 9/2/21 Cellar Door Bath Supply Co.'s Halloween & Fall collection is out (https://cellardoorbathsupply.com/collections/halloween-fall-collection😞 anything you might be interested in? Black No. 1
Michigan Moonglow
Once Bitten
Zombie Repellent These all sound good. I would take candles or soap in all of them. (I KNOW I SAID NO BAR SOAP BUT.) Regarding tea, what type of tea do you prefer? Black tea, green tea, herbal tea? Any type of tea you really don’t enjoy? I think I covered this already but I drink mostly black tea. Sometimes herbal (my Breathe Easy and Throat Coat or Aveda Tea/Licorice Mint.) Very occasionally green (especially Jasmine.) I do not like rooibos, mate, or pu erh. White tea is ok. I like matcha but I mostly purchase the matcha packets that you shake up with water because I don't have a milk steamer or the whisk/bowl things that go with matcha. (mmmm matcha lattes.) I love bubble tea too but not sure if that counts here. Mostly lavender milk, rose milk, jasmine milk, or honey milk. Tapioca pearls ftw. 9/4/21 are you interested in eco-friendly menstrual products? There are some beautiful gothic print reuseable pads I'm looking at specifically. I keep hoping mine will just totally stop. I'd be down with trying some reusable pads or a cup. 9/6/21 Bath and Body Works? I know this is a bit of a love em or hate em company, but I really love their foaming hand soaps and scented hand sanitizers and my kids like their body wash, so I'll be placing an order with the next good sale. Anything that catches your eye? Too many unclean ingredients in their body care. I don't mind the wall flowers but I have a ton because I don't use them very often. The Marshmallow and Fireside roomspray is a yes. Would love that in a wall flower too. 9/14/21 I'm making homemade applesauce this weekend with apples I picked last weekend. I'm going to try my hand at canning for the first time (got my mom, the experienced canner, on speed dial lol) If I succeed would you like a jar? If it's unsweetened, sure! 9/22/21 How do you feel about sniffies? Meh. I would like at LEAST a little bit of 'fume to skin test.
Switch Witch Q&A - Fall 2011 Round #2
My Fall 2017 13 Days of Halloween answers
Do you like to read seasonally, or do you like to read whatever whenever?
I have a large queue of books to read and review. :/ So please no books.
9/13/17
Would you like to receive a scarf or hat?
As I said in the question about knitted things, I don't wear scarves (unless they are super special that I picked out, sorry) and the only hats I wear are newsboy type caps, but again I am really picky and would probably need to pick it out and try it on.
9/12/17
Do you want wax melts?
I wouldn't say no - but I rarely rarely rarely use them. Like once a year, if that.
9/11/17
I'm in Japan, is there anything specific from here you would be interested in?
Mmmm fun flavored kit kats!!! (I can get green tea and strawberry here.)
I'm in The Netherlands. Is there anything from The Netherlands/Europe that you're interested in?
I have no idea since I've not been there on what is available. Chocolate? Yarn?
Bath & Body Works - love them or hate them? If the former, fave product types?
Well, all of their stuff has SLS's and they are definitely not phthalate or paraben free so pretty much a hard pass on any of their bath or skin products. I don't mind their candles and wall flowers (sometimes. Usually scents are much too overpowering and perfume-y but the vanilla scents are ok, although I'm totally sick of vanilla bean noel.) I really wish they still did the honey lavender pillow spray. I hate chamomile but I might be interested in the lavender pillow spray if it actually smells like real lavender. edit: I was just in there for shopping for swaps and their new Lavender Cedar wall flowers are great! Maybe the sprays too -- the Vanilla Patchouli and the Lavender Cedar. (I think they have both pillow sprays and room sprays.)
how would you feel about receiving a hand-painted container for your bpal and/or other treasures? if you are on board with that, would you want a big wood box (~50 bottles), a small wood box (~20 bottles) or a tin for carrying imps around?
I'm good on containers, I use the IKEA FIRA 9 drawer boxes and while they're full, I have another one left to build. But I'm trying to destash my collection since it's pretty much beyond life expectancy so I'm hoping to never build that one. I also use tea chests. Now if I could get someone to paint these IKEA chests for me that would be the best ever. I'm not an artist. I have have plenty of tins for travel purposes. I'm no fun, sorry!
Now, if you wanted to send me a hand painted container for something else, I'm your girl!! I have one of the (newly available again in the US) IKEA MOPPE chests and I'm using it for my witchy stuff, but I could definitely use a couple more. Their drawers are much too tall for BPAL bottles and aren't as deep, but they're great for chime candles, incense, sage smudges, etc. (3 drawers on top, 2 in the middle, and a wide one on the bottom.) They're about $14 so pretty reasonably priced, and they're pretty light - just bulky, so no idea on the shipping. But if you happened to be in Seattle or whatnot, I'll be traveling there in October and I'm sure you could find a minion to meet up with me.
if you were to receive something hand knit, what type of item would you like? hat, cowl, handwarmers, etc. and what color(s)?
As a knitter, I am already overflowing with hand knit things. I don't wear hats, cowls, or scarves normally. I loathe triangle shaped shawls. If you're a knitter, you're probably friended with me on Ravelry (or you can go look at my profile) and see my favorites and other details like what I like color, yarn, and pattern wise. I have some bundles called "Make for Me" and some swap specific bundles for halloween/vampire swaps that I would be delighted to receive things from.
Nail wraps - yay or nay? Would including a small manicure set to go with them help?
No thank you. I have a friend who does jamberry and is always pushing their stuff at me. I bought some once to shut her up but I've never used them.
9/9/17
Disney? I like going to disneyland and would love to someday go to disneyworld...
If so, any favorite characters? Bambi (what, I like deer), Eeyore (what, I have depression too), Mèrida is best princess imo but I doubt I would purchase anything specifically to do with her? I also grew up as a tomboy riding horses and stuffs, although I currently have no archery things. The compound bow and targets were left behind with the ex. Also Scottish. <3 <3 <3 Oh yeah, I always forget that NMBC is Disney. NMBC FTW! I have tons of NMBC stuff and collect the cookie jars. I could really use some more PJ's, mine have a hole worn in the bottom.
And to be more specific about Disney: How do you feel about Beauty and the beast? I like the movie(s)? The first one came out after my son was born (I think The Little Mermaid came out right before? I didn't name my son after the movie, but my friend named her daughter Ariel and my son was named Eryk.) At one point we had to stay in a small apartment between one house being sold and waiting for the new house to be ready to move into and Beauty and the Beast was the only vhs tape we had... my poor son got to the point where he was saying "NO BEAST! NO BEAST!" I still tease him about that. I kind of want to make a lace pattern based on the photo of the windows from the recent movie. Also I love that Gaston is incredibly gay.
And what about Harry Potter related items?
Well, I mean it depends on the item. I have all kinds of Harry Potter related yarn and patterns because it's something consumable that I can use. There are some cute Harry Potter clothing items from Torrid that I drool over. ALWAYS speaks to me and I have a mug that I keep makeup brushes in that says ALWAYS on the side and has a doe on the other. I would LOVE to go to Harry Potter world and I do enjoy receiving owls and chocolate frogs. I kind of drool over the Harry Potter lootcrate (and Firefly and ....) Dunno if lootcrate has relaxed women's babydoll type sizes, probably not. I don't wear regular men's t-shirts, I'm much too curvy and they don't fit me comfortably.
Pokemon? Any favorites?
I used to play Pokemon Go on my phone when I still paid for it, but I can't afford it anymore. Other than that, no. My son was really into Pokemon when he was little. (He's 27 now.)
Is there any thing, category, or brand from which you would absolutely NOT like to receive things (ie., you're overrun with candy corn, you don't do scents outside of BPAL, or if you ever see another Stephen King item, it will be too soon)?
* Bar soap. Please $deity, no bar soap. (unless you make it! then please bring ALL OF YOUR SOAP.) I make soap and I have SO. MUCH.
* I also don't need any tealights, I buy those unscented by the 100's.
* Also no books, physical or electronic, unless I specifically request them. Please ignore my Amazon book wishlist, it's mostly there for me at this point.
* no socks. I rarely wear socks and I am very picky about them when I do. I have super large feet so most women's socks don't fit me anyway.
* coffee mugs. I have boxes and boxes of starbucks city mugs because I used to collect them, but I'm considering getting rid of them all. The only mugs I would want would be a 20oz mug with a lid so bugs didn't get in it, but something that is machine washable.
What kinds of art/art medium do you most enjoy, or would you most like to receive, in the context of this swap?
I do have room to hang things on the wall since all of my other artwork is packed up and in storage. I collect grotesques and gargoyles. I have an artwork section on etsy too if you want to look at the kinds of things I like.
9/9/17
What rares are you dying to try?
There are a ton of eclipses and liliths that I'm going to miss out on - just updated my wish list with them. Goth Queen and Snake Oil Jelly Donut both come to mind. Blue wig spray? I JUST GOT SOME SNAKE OIL JELLY DONUT, WOO WOO.
Do you like comic books and/or graphic novels?
I do, or I used to when I could see, lol. Sandman, Watchmen. I have the first Lucifer graphic novel on kindle.
9/8/17
Are you ok with homemade food?
Yes, as long as you follow proper food handling techniques (I have a food handling certificate so hopefully people will be comfortable receiving from me) and - well, I'm really picky about non-GMO, no corn syrup, no red dye 40 or food dyes if possible, organic stuffs only. I also can't have nuts or dried fruit right now because of my kidneys. Or sodium. Or too much protein. :/ I'm not supposed to have coffee, chocolate, or dairy, but I would die without my daily coffee with cream. I figure all things in moderation but am still trying to follow the guidelines when I can. I'm not actually on a diet restriction YET, just guidelines. One more test next month to see how things are. But my GFR has been in the 40's which is third stage kidney disease and one level above dialysis. My GFR *should* be above 90.
If you are ok with decorations, do you have a preference for table-top, wall hanging, or window decorations?
I'd have to have wall hanging since I am staying with family while going through my divorce (god this is dragging on forever, it's been almost a year since I moved out of his place) and I only have one small room and no table space. I'd rather not cover the window since it is very small and my dog likes to look out it. I do love the halloween bottle containers (without corks, the ones that actually fasten so you can really use them) that come in different colours with cool bottle toppers and labels. Michaels had some really cool ones with bat or skull toppers. My mom got me a bunch of these for my birthday so I'm pretty much set...
I also kind of have an animal skeleton collection going. I have a raven, rat, small pug type dog, and larger floppy eared dog. I'd love a bat or cat!
How do you feel about stationary and/or papercrafting supplies?
I absolutely do not ever write anything except jotting a super small note down (my hands don't work properly - sometimes it's hard to knit or mouse) but I like spooky washi tape with skulls or bats!
How do you feel about kitschy/silly Halloween jewelry?
I feel like no fun! I don't wear even nice jewelry except my scent locket or occasionally another necklace or pendant. Sometimes rings/bracelets/anklets but right now I'm very swollen from kidney problems. So I'm sorry, but no.
Would you be interested in a Halloween wreath?
If you were to make it, sure! I love black and purple, skulls, bats, ravens... I'm a huge NMBC fan. absolutely no brown, red, orange or country cute type stuff, gothy only for me. I like the two black and white ones but not the one with coloured balls. I even have a wreath hanger on my door.

Switch Witch answers -- Christmas '08
NYE Solstice Swap
Courage, Comfort, & Joy: Glad tidings of warmth and hope. A collection of traditional wintertide scents to brighten the darkest nights. Mulberry, lingonberry, red apple, fir needle, and cozy wintry spices.
Everwinter Woods: The scent of the mountains shrouded in ice. A forest of evergreen and spruce, chilling ozone top notes of whipping winds, and a hint of shivering eucalyptus.
Fireside Tales: This scent is in honor of the nearly-forgotten tradition of telling ghost stories around the Yuletide hearth. Crackling boughs of cedar and birch, glowing embers, and the soft spice of saffron.
Gingerbread Latte: A steaming cup of cheer. A gingerbread latte topped with whipped cream and a decadent drizzle of caramel.
Old Saint Nick: Cherry pipe smoke, cozy hearth woods, and roasted chestnut.
Spiced Wassail: Fine health to thee! A warm mug of cider spiced with a strong kick of cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove to keep you snug while the carolers sing.
The Court In Splendour: Glad Tidings from the King! The scent of the Tudor court at Yuletide. A festive blend of bayberry and tart cranberry on a bed of warm balsam and spice.
The Memory Of Snow: Silky almond cream, delicate spun sugar, a dash of nutmeg, and the memory of snow.
Warm Woolen Mittens: Comfort in the coldest months. Warm wool, sprigs of lavender, and softly smoked vanilla.
Winter Rose: A single red rose, freshly plucked and placed upon a bed of bayberry and green boughs of holly, ivy, and balsam.
Yuletide: A classic home for the holidays scent. Pine boughs strung with orange clove pomanders and cranberries, and then merrily wound throughout the home! Are you interested in anything from Bird and Blend Tea Company? (https://birdandblendtea.com/us_en/) Bonfire Toffee

Vicky's Sponge Cake - small amounts (1 oz or less) would be great since I have a *lot* of tea and I hate my parent's kettle, so I rarely make tea. I need to get an electric kettle for my room or something. The story part-Books... Can you be more specific about any particular books you are interested in reading? Do you have any wishlist links? I tend to get way more books than I can read (advance reading copies and the like) and I only do books on .mobi or .epub (kindle or ibooks) since my eyes are going and I need to be able to enlarge the font. My amazon wishlist is linked in my SW Help in my signature, but for ease... my amazon wishlists. Please make sure it's sorted by priority. I'd be happy to have "story" interpreted in artwork or a knitting pattern on my wishlist or however you want to interpret it. Are role playing games stories? I think so! I have a wishlist on gog.com and another on Steam though I'm not sure how to share it (right now the only thing is Anchorhead which is a Lovecraftian graphics/text adventure, so retro and very interactive story.) So a steam gift card would be lovely! As far as dvd's as stories, I'm missing Red Dwarf V, VI, VII, and XII on dvd and would gleefully welcome those. The only other things I really want right now are the extended versions of LOTR and the Hobbit movies on blu-ray and those are expensive, so ... As far as music goes, I would greatly welcome something like an itunes GC. But I'll take CDs, mp3, or whatever as well if you want to send a thumbdrive or burned cd. I can always rip back to mp3 and put on my computer and then phone/ipod or I can play cd's in my car. I mostly only listen to music when driving (on cd or my ipod/iphone) or when showering (on my ipod.) On the decorating spectrum, do you head more towards classic/stylish or towards cheesy/kitsch? Probably neither? hahaha. Nerdy/Gothy? My furniture and desk are grey/black and are marble/granite style. My bistro table is grey marble. My bed sheets are generally grey/black/eggplant. I have Nightmare Before Christmas comforters. or eggplant/black/dark grey. I have many iron/glass/silver/plaster with grey finish sconces. My artwork frames are all black. A lot of my artwork is black/white. I have tons of grotesques and gargoyles. I collect NMBC cookie jars. I'm pretty overloaded with decorations right now since I'm staying with family and can only decorate my room. Most of my stuff is packed up. OH. You probably mean Christmas decorations. Ummm I would love more gothy/nerdy tree ornaments, like NMBC. Unicorns, dragons... but not cheesy ones, nice ones. *wink* My mom used to get me a different Hallmark series ornament every year for my birthday but I think she forgot this year (right now the series is "a pony for christmas" or something like that. I have all of the rocking horses in the series that ended.) I would love a cthulhu tree topper... I really like Krampus things too. Or a weeping angel tree topper... (I have a weeping angel tree ornament.) Fiber artists! (Knitters, weavers, crocheters etc) How would you like to get some nice yarn? I'm pretty overloaded in yarn right now but as long as it isn't acrylic I can probably find a use for it. I prefer black/grey/white/blues/purples/dark reds/dark greens. (no yellow, orange, tan, cream, brown.) No variegated yarn please - I'm only doing solids/semi-solids and graduated. Self striping is ok if it's DK or above. Is there any animal you feel a strong connection with? Many. Pit bulls, Friesian horses, bats, corvids, dolphins, leafy sea dragons. Mythical would be gargoyles of all sorts (especially winged dogs), hippocampus and equines of all sorts... thestrals! (so many creatures in the HP world.)

How about some dishcloths, for the kitchen? Or spa cloths for the bathroom? If so, which? Any particular colors?? I would take dishcloths for the kitchen made with scrubby! Can always use more cloths for the bathroom too. Colors would be the same as my usual favs. Purples, blacks, jewel toned blues. No neons, pastels, or navy. Would you like any of Cat Coven's Halloween goods? It's her original artwork based on medieval art. (It's a limited edition of everything, so hopefully things arent sold out yet.) I have a bunch that are stuffed in a cookie jar. I could use a coffin shaped fabric thing to hang on the wall and put all of my pins on. Umm I don't even know what I want until I see it. 9/2 I make lightweight hairfalls, the kind that can be attached to a pony tail or to pig tails. They are good for those of us that are more tender-headed. I use a variety of materials like shibori ribbon, and puffy yarns and pieces of lace and silk. You can use them for every day or as part of your Weenie costume. Is this of interest to you? If so tell me what length, what color(s) and if you want one for a pony tail or two for pig tails. No thank you, I suck at putting those on, haha!
During my recent travels I got to experience the incredible delight of Serge Luten perfumers here in Paris (imagine if the Lab and Anna Sui made babies inside a Cadbury Cream Egg decorated with stained glass windows and...you've come close to the experience of being in that shop). Anyway, after spending gobs of monies, they loaded me up with delectable samples of their insanely expensive wares- do you want some??? Um, YES.

Some of my favorites are from this company. https://www.poesieperfume.com/loose-leaf-tea All of the black teas except the chestnut sound good. I don't often do tissanes/herbals, when I do it's usually basil/licorice/mint/eucalyptus (Breathe Easy original from Traditional Medicinals is one of my staples.) (Cara Cara Vanilla, Peach, Raspberry, Apple, Mango, Pomegranate, Strawberry.) The really thick ones can be used as salad dressing (without oil) and that gets a lot of use at our place. The vanilla bean white balsamic sounds really interesting too! We also have an awesome store for jams and sauce, American Spoon which you should totally check out! Mmm! It's also that time of year where I make handmade soap (usually with calendula infused olive oil, tallow, oatmeal and honey) and candles (feel free to specify color and size, I don't usually scent them, but I do have a clover and apple scent I've been wanting to play with). I can also annoint and dress candles with TALs and herbs. Any interest? Yes to the soap, no to candles (I'm not a fan of unscented except for ritual candles and clover/apple don't sound like my scents.) TAL/herb ritual candles would be good! I also grow herbs which can be culinary or magical. I'd be happy to prepare a smudge or dry some herbs for your enjoyment. I currently have oregano (yellow and standard), mugwort, thyme, sage (purple or garden), tea peppermint, chives, lovage, plantain, comfrey, raspberry leaf, and yarrow. I'm probably forgetting something. Yes to everything except the mugwort, I have tons (from winterblizzard even!) I also make salves! My go to in an arnica, calendula and comfrey mix for healing wounds or chapped skin. This can also be used on pet paws. We do have barely enough time that I could do a custom infusion. Pet paw salve would be nice! 9/11 Anything in the Paintbox Soapworks Halloween update looking good to you? https://paintboxsoapworks.com/new-limited-edition/2023-weenie-collection/ Let me in at Your Window is the only one that doesn't have any scent notes I don't like in it. Sorbetto or Bath Streusel are the products I like. (plus bonus points for Kate Bush / Wuthering Heights.) Also fantasticake, GTFO, Red Right Hand, The Queen is Dead, sample of Cartographer's Wasp (not sure if I would have a skin reaction to the Cassia.) Or in the Karen Rose collection, the Deacon sorbetto. In the benefit collection, pussy hat sorbetto. 9/12 If you have a furry friend living with you, what sort of treats do they like? What treats DON'T they like?? I am a bit picky about food though, and for dogs I try to get all ingredients grown and made in the US or a country with good food laws (not China for sure) and stay away from fillers. No rawhide. They love bully sticks but those cost their weight in gold. If you're in the Seattle area, Mud Bay has great grain free bulk cookies! I usually get the salmon ones. Or the blueberry hearts. 9/13 What is your feelings on seasonal mugs? Yes or, no? Too many in your house or bring them on?? I really have too many normal coffee mugs to have seasonal ones plus I only do huge mugs (20oz preferred but 16/18 is ... ok) and I mostly drink out of covered mugs, so I love ceramic ones with handles and lids or some of the stainless steel travel mugs I have on my beverages amazon wishlist (links to red bubble / society 6.) I always wait for a sale at both Society6 and Red Bubble, and I have a bunch of $5 off codes but I don't know how to give them to a witch without it spoiling surprises. There are usually lots of sales there up to 70% off if sign up for the spammy email alerts (I create alternate accounts for all of my spam lists and birthday reward lists and stuff... yay for free gmail.) Abigail Larson moved from society6 -- Her stuff is on Threadless now. -- but I can't make new links on the amazon wish list since they discontinued the universal wish list, sigh. But I love her Three of Swords and Raven travel mugs. But they are a lot more expensive now then they were on Redbubble/society6. sigh. And I don't know if threadless ever has sales or how that all works or what the quality of their mugs is. I do collect the sbux "been here" and "city mugs" but prefer the demitasse / ornament size if available, the full size if not. (not the to go mugs in those since I don't drink out of them, they just go with my collection, haha!) The "been here" usually comes in a box.
Are your wishlists - Amazon, Etsy, etc - up to date, and if so, are they all linked somewhere that I can find them? Yes, they are linked in my SW and Circular Swap help in signature.
Do you have anything you use every day that you wouldnt mind getting more of? Epically Epic lip balm for sure. The Turkish Delight is AMAZING. And I have talked to the owner and they are clean ingredients, so good to go. I'd love to try the Marshmallow and Lavender Marshmallow (as well as like 100 more Turkish Delights, hee hee.) Otherwise I use dog cookies every day (multiple times, they are very spoiled and will constantly do tricks or bring me things to exchange for cookies.) I can always use more leashes so I can start keeping some in my car and some outside by the pig area for when I need emergency restraint for a dog (to walk them to the pasture with me or outside of the fence.) Anything you love or need to have from Adagio or Rishi teas? I don't do Adagio (HORRIBLE OWNER, google for horror stories from employees.) I really am actually almost full on tea since my bff sent me a HUGE PACK for my birthday this week. Although I always love more from Mariage Freres, Bird & Blend, or my wish list, haha! I am such a tea hoarder! I just ordered another case of Breathe Easy (Traditional Medicinals) since my lungs feel like crap after all of the fires and I ran out, so I'm good there.
List here things you wish you would've added to your questionnaire Umm I can't think of anything. I could use a new phone tough case but again with the spendy unless you get a huge sale. (I have a bunch on my red bubble wish list which is in my SW - Circular Swap Help linked in my signature.) The iPhone SE (2020)/8 - Tough is the right one. 9/14 Nocturne Alchemy just dropped their Halloween update! You like the looks of anything? https://nocturnealchemy.com/collections/limited-collection I think I have it narrowed down to two. I will probably order them myself. Is there anything you would like from the Weenie update? tbd How do you feel about stickers? If positively, are there any themes you'd rather not have stickers of? I really have too many stickers but I also wouldn't say no to all of the ones on my red bubble wish list, so .... I might need more water bottles to put stickers on or something. My current stainless bottle is getting pretty full of stickers and I don't like to overlap them. What about crystals, cool rocks, and gemstones? Obviously you are not my witch because I have lots of those things (I think?) on my wishlists (amazon and etsy.) Gimme!! 9/15 How do you feel about Squishmallows and Squishables? (They have mini and micro sizes for those who like cute plushies but don't have a lot of space.) I have mini cthulhu and the wolf with the moon (mini Hati II.) I got my son the mini plague doctor. I'd love any bats or gargoyles! Also unicorns! And baphomet! And yeah, there are lots I like. ooh there is a new baby cthulhu... but baphomet, gargoyle, happy bat, or honduran white bat would be my first choices of things in stock. Would you wear enamel pins with chains that are meant to be put on lapels? (Something like this.) probably not if they are connected with chains, I rarely wear shirts with collars. Speaking of enamel pins... The Pickety Witch's Autumn and Halloween collection just dropped. Has anything caught your eye? Lil bat, but sold out. I have more on my Etsy wishlist (from Pickety witch's Etsy shop) under jewelry and pins. I used to make mobiles out of paper cranes, would you appreciate something like this? if so, what size restrictions do you have, if any? ie., should it take up less space vertically or horizontally? color palette preference? No thank you, I make my own cranes! 9/16 ordering bulbs from https://oldhousegardens.com and was wondering if my witchee would like some. any of the snowdrops!!!! S. Arnott mentions strong scent and good cut flowers, so maybe that one. Would you like something like "sock arms" if I find time to craft? (Sometimes I make a pattern called Toast or Toasty {one has a thumb the other is just a tube} http://www.afriendtoknitwith.com/2008/09/toasttoasty.html. here are other photos from my blog: https://www.elkaknits.com/?p=845 ) -- If so what sort of colors? My son likes sock arms or really long fingerless mitts. Soft non scratchy (but not acrylic), his favs are green and blue. (He is 30 something, so adult size.) Witchee, what's your take on seasonal-themed Washi tape? I have a LOT of seasonal Washi tape actually, but I welcome all Halloween-y tape, especially bats. Also unicorns. And scratch and sniff tape. And whatever is cool. I have enough valentine's day, fourth of july, easter, Yule, etc. to last for years.
What about seasonal treats from Trader Joe's? I go there a lot, so I'm good.
I make gluten-free biscotti this time of year, lemon and also cocoa varieties: does this sound good to you? I love biscotti! Chocolate, chocolate almond, almond, gingerbread...
Would you like me to make a music mix for you? I kick it old school with a burned CD. If you're into this, name at least 3 to 5 genres of music you already love, or are interested to explore more of! I do listen to CDs in my car, so if you want to make some, go for it. I mostly listen to dark wave / 80's pop these days and I still have a lot of industrial music CDs but they don't get a lot of use. My current favorite album is the new one from Tears for Fears. Right now in my car I have New Order, Moev, TFF, Depeche Mode's new album, Howard Jones, Ned's Atomic Dustbin, Oingo Boingo, some mix CD's from violetchaos, and ... I don't remember what else. 9/17 Anything here you like? https://bserway.com/ i have a lot of his artwork. Too much, I don't have frames for all of it!! I still have a bunch on my Etsy wishlist though, under artwork. The ones that are not on Etsy that I like and don't have are: Cauldron's Bottom https://bserway.com/products/cauldron-s-bottom Gsleslicr https://bserway.com/products/copy-of-blackwood-anthropophagy Sleepy hollow https://bserway.com/products/copy-of-among-sheep-1 i think these ones are on Etsy: Remember Me as a time of Night https://bserway.com/products/remember-me-as-a-time-of-night Waning neonate https://bserway.com/products/waning-neonate the crone's seer https://bserway.com/products/the-crone-s-seer Old dreams waiting to be realized https://bserway.com/products/dreams-waiting-to-be-realized also I like the cars, postcards, stickers. It looks like the mystery pack is still in stock although most of the rest are sold out. (I have no nightmares, memento mori, duskmother, foxtales, featherweight, the fox & the crow, I might have mirror ov uncloaking???, nightbringer, Jersey devil, sleipnir, and more that aren't listed on Etsy or his website right now.) so, yeah, I could use a ton of black frames with pure white mats, matted for 8x10, with glass. also if you wanted to get me a print, I really really really someday want "lala dog", "waiting", and "chosen" from zepplinmoon (on Etsy artwork wishlist.) Anything you'd like from my Ren Fest? There is an outstanding garlic based shop I'll be going to next weekend, for my annual stock up of their spice blends & garlic oil blends. Any other Renny stuff that you like? I love garlic! I love ceramics with crows, friesians, gargoyles, pibbles, Celtic knot work, ferrets... I love the huge ren faire blankets with any of the same. Henna kits could be fun if they have good stencils. Cool hand made brooms are probably too spendy and hard to send, lol. I adore faires and markets and love all the things. know we are looking at a lot of candles, but if you are into looking at more (and it is ok to say you are not), do any of these strike your fancy? https://www.lakewoodwax.com/candlesforacause (Feel free to take a look at their current and signature scents too but I wanted to highlight these fundraiser scents first!)
I can't tell if they use clean products and scents or not, so pass. 8/19 f you are a person who appreciates tarot and oracle decks, do you have a strong preference about receiving new ones vs gently/barely used? I do not! I am getting a bit overloaded with tarot and oracle decks tho. I removed some from my etsy and amazon wish lists I think. I am ok with most things gently used. Are you a Studio Ghibli fan, and if so, what are your feelings about fan made art featuring characters? No thank you! I am not that much of a Ghibli fan. Want anything from LUSH? Here's the link specifically to their Halloween drop (https://www.lush.com/us/en_us/c/halloween) BUT, feel free to peruse all of it. Um, yes. But you have to check their ingredients carefully to make sure no SLS or parabens because they use both. Some of their tooth things have saccharin (shudder.) I use the Plaque Sabbath which has xylitol and I'd prefer it was stevia sweetened instead, but sigh. Also I would like to say that I hate LUSH new website. Shopping by tag is not my jam, and stuff will pull up and then disappear (like the Unicorn lip scrub) so I don't know if they just don't have it anymore or what. Our only local LUSH is downtown where there is no unpaid parking, so I don't go very often. Like less than once a year. So samples of stuff is always appreciated, I know their prices are high. Scents: I love most things from LUSH (smell wise) so I am not sure you could go wrong. My fav smells from there are Silky Underwear, Snowcake, Twilight / Sleepy, Butterball, Rose Jam, Lord of Misrule, Candy Fluff/Snow Fairy, Lust, Flying Fox, Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds. (yes, some of these are long discontinued.) Products: No: * Their solid perfume does not work on me * I don't especially love the lip scrubs, as an FYI, except for Unicorn. * The wash cards have SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate.) * Most of the Body Scrubs have SLS. (Ocean Salt self preserving is ok, I love samples.) * Most of the shower gels have SLS. * Most of the solid and liquid shampoos have SLS. (The cream shampoo I checked did not.) * Most of the bubble bars have SLS. * Some of the facial oils have parabens. * Most of the bath bombs have SLS. * Most of the creamy moisturisers have parabens. Yes: * Melts look like they would be ok! (bath melts - at least the Sleepy one is, it's the only one I looked at.) * Dream Cream (self preserving) is what I am out of and use the most but it's super spendy so I try to get it during the Yule sale and I have enough Sleepy cream to last me until then. - I THINK most body creams are safe, I just have to check each one. I only use Dream Cream on my hands. Rose Argan body conditioner looks interesting (I love samples!) * Soap (omg, Lord of Misrule soap! I'd love some Demon in the Dark, I used to get that all the time before it was discontinued. The Dia de Muertos soap (Cempasúchil) looks fun - I would like to sniff it but they probably don't samples of LE stuff?) I would totally also take Rose Argan soap (sample?) * Angels on Bare Skin * Movis facial soap looks interesting, would love a sample - I think most facial soaps and cleansing balms (like Sleepy Face) are ok, but double check. (I love samples) * Skin Drink self preserving moisturiser is ok. Peace is ok, (I love samples!) * Rose Lollipop lip balm looks interesting (they can probably do a sample, they gave me samples of solid perfumes so ...) * Full of Grace solid facial serum / moisturizer looks interesting (I love samples!) 9/20 Part 2 of the Autumnal/Halloween drop from Haus of Gloi is coming this weekend- take a look and see if anything is compelling! https://www.hausofgloi.com/blogs/haus-herald/fall-part-2 I would try a scrub or exfoliant in Violet Moon for sure. Yay butterbombs! But none of those scents sound good to me. Nag Champa yes, but leaves? no.
Also, I live in Philly and will use ANY reason to spend time at the Mütter Museum- anything of interest (including, but not limited to, the well-loved BPAL exclusive for the museum, Ü?) https://www.muttermuseumstore.org I don't know. A magnet? A lens cloth? Plague Doctor pin? Spit Means Death button? If you are so inclined, do you want or need any natural items or ingredients for spellwork that could be collected from forests, ocean, fields or stream? I also have access to oak gall ink and various other esoteric substances. Wow, that sounds great!! All of the above. You'd have to tell me what kind of pen to use with the ink though. Are you a fan of the show Cobra Kai? Negatory. Do you enjoy any of the scented items from Victoria's Secret? Hard pass. Would you be interested in receiving a silver locket with papyrus and herbs inside, as a protective amulet? Heck yeah! 9/21 So Witchee mine, are you a spellworker? - any interest in acorns? I am a lazy spellworker but I would LOVE to have a bunch of acorns. maybe 3 or 5 or however many. I need to remember to go look for the teeny tiny acorns that are in a parking lot at the "old" costco location (I don't think anything else has moved into that building yet, but it has lots of oaks around the perimeter of the parking lot.) Witchee, do you like anything from Lenny Mud? ok, so I have had the "A Woman's Place is in the Resistance" mug on my wish list forever but never buy it for myself and it hasn't ever been one of the deeply discounted sale items, but they are spendy so I don't expect anyone to get me one (or anything on my wish list really, but my lists should give you an idea of the things I like? I love hand made / home made and local things too!) I might get a bunch of their stickers when I get mom a bigfoot mug. and I might get the night circus travel mug and the ruth bader ginsberg mug because sale. 9/22 From previous questions you've answered, I know a lot about the teas you'd like from specific places, but I want to know your more general tea preferences. Black, green, white, rooibos, oolong, herbal? Pretty sure you are not my witch then because my Circular Swap help is pretty detailed about the kind of tea I like. As in, I like black and flavored black, matcha, SOMETIMES green, jasmine, meh on white, only certain herbals (I LOATHE camomile), ixnay on the rooibos and honeybush and puereh and mate, meh on the oolong. - Japan is particularly big on their green tea and hojicha (roasted green tea), any interest? ok, I have never tried hojicha and I would love to try some. I saw that SBUX has matcha and hojicha via (dried in little "stick" pouches) and I love matcha in sticks like that (especially flavored) so I would totally try some. I get the "acceptable" blends of matcha for baking, haven't tried the ceremonial. I could use a matcha whisk and bowl for "real" matcha that isn't in the little sticks and formulated to dissolve easily in a bottle of water. - My partner has given me an extraordinary amount of rooibos from South Africa. It's amazing and I'd like to share, so would you like some? Sorry, no, I really do not like rooibos. However, my MOM might like it? She drinks non caffeine tea and has liked flavored rooibos at least. despite being uk based I’m probably gonna have to make a torrid order because I fell in. Anything catch your eye while I’m doing it? Let me look! (I kind of love torrid because I am plus size and I like gothyish geeky stuff. yes, I am still 12.) Plus Stranger Things and NMBC! I'm a 2 or an 18/20 for the nonce I love these things that are still available in my size and are on sale: Disney NIghtmare Before Christmas Classic Fit Laser Cut Roll Sleeve Tee (50% off)
https://www.torrid.com/product/disney-nightmare-before-christmas-classic-fit-laser-cut-roll-sleeve-tee/40580002-00684.html Stranger Things Sleep Tank (60% off)
https://www.torrid.com/product/stranger-things-sleep-tank/40670006-00684.html Stranger Things Sleep Short (60% off)
https://www.torrid.com/product/stranger-things-sleep-short/40670007-00115.html Netflix Stranger Things Demogorgon Classic Fit Scoop Neck Tank Top Licensed ($9.99 final sale)
https://www.torrid.com/product/netflix-stranger-things-demogorgon-classic-fit-scoop-neck-tank-top-licensed/40175131-00006.html WTF and a bunch of prices went up since I posted these!!! 9/27 How do you feel about nail wraps, like from Espionage Cosmetics? They are having a tempting fall sale. Anything catch your eye? https://espionagecosmetics.com/collections/itsfallyall23 I suck at doing nail wraps. But I would be tempted by NMBC, bats, etc. Is anyone into colouring in? No thanks. 9/30 Since I'm starting to get ads for holiday shop stuff coming in, witchees who are winter holiday afficionados, are there any decorations, treats, etc. that you would be looking for? Nightmare Before Christmas ornaments for my little black tree! Gothmas from Sept - Jan! And a tree topper and a little tree skirt and little black and white beaded swag to wrap around it, or whatever. (I have lots of ideas on my wish lists scattered everywhere...) 10/2 I just came across this kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/paulinafae/halloween-dreams-playing-cards I do own almost all her decks and I know they are kinda busy for readings but I still like them. Do you? They are super cute, but kickstarters take forever to fulfill -- sometimes years, lol! -- and I already have lots of playing cards that I never use, including some from kickstarters. That artwork is cute though! 10/10 would you like any whole dried cayenne peppers or fresh red pepper flakes? Always! Flakes would probably get more use. 10/12 I will be attending the Bloodmilk Sphinx and Snakeskin event here in Philly tomorrow! Would you like a bottle of Dream Skin, dearest Witchee? I wouldn't say no, but oakmoss is likely to go bad on me. A half decant is probably better. 10/13 Anything you crave from yesterday's 2nd Weenies drop at BPAL? Wait, what? *runs off to look* ooh a new 13! *runs off to update 13 spreadsheet* I would actually be interested in trying this 13 since it's not chocolate. I'd also be interested in Lady of Saintonge.
2022 Summer Swap Sprite Answers
Yes, the rumors are true- I'll be in Paris this summer! Tell me up to five things you'd be happy to get from there, including any specific teas from Dammann Freres, my favorite french tea shop! (https://www.dammann.fr/en/#) I have no idea what is available in Paris besides perfume and tea and I'm down for both! (especially vanilla perfume!) Oh! La bien Aimee is in Paris (yarn!!! Purple speckles!!!) For tea, Vanille, Rose, anything with Clove, anything with Anise, Smokey Lapsang or other Smokey tea. Pretty much all of their black tea, kthx. Violet could be fun too. I like teas that will pair well with cream and honey. (I do have Damman and Mariage Freres on my Amazon beverages list too!). Jasmine is always welcome. I love most flavored black teas. Maison Souquet candles (Tobacco!!!) are probably too expensive.
hot chocolate from Angelina? Chocolate in general. Local candy or snacks?
a bar of soap? Or something from Buly 1803 or just made in France, indie small batch is always great. authentic macarons? Cheese? Yeah, they probably wouldn't travel well. something from an artist in montmarte? anything gothy and local. Buttons (wood, metal, carved, w/e), lace, ribbon?
any kind of cool French beauty products you think I'd like. 5/31/22 I recently discovered Khamila Luna and plan to place an order soon to get a present for my roommate. Is there anything you'd like from them? Maybe the creamy vanilla sugar scrub? Some of the "men's" soap sounds nice but it would literally just go in my sock and underwear drawer. (black musk / amber / tobacco / teakwood.) is there any small gift from mother nature that you'd like me see if I can source for you from old forests? Anything!! I love any gifts that mother nature offers up to you. I love rocks, skulls, interesting wood lumps, leaves, tinctures or salves made from wildcrafting, everything. do you wear rings on all your fingers? how about a range smallest to largest? I do wear rings in between top and mid knuckle, about a size 6. I lost my favorite ring last time I was in Seattle, it was a little dragon that I'd had for over twenty years. doh. Otherwise I wear an 11 but I'm also doing a ton of weight loss so hopefully ring size will go back down. If your Sprite were to gift you magical items or workings... a) Would you be interested in that? b) If so, what intention(s) would you appreciate most? Yes! Ummm I'm going to be having surgery in a couple months, so health is good. Determination/motivation, healing, cutting ties with my past, self love, blockbuster/road opener, money, job hunting after surgery. Would you be interested in a set of (rpg) dice? If so, what colors/aesthetic? I do actually have some on amazon wish list under either geek or games. I loathe gold/yellow/beige colors in any format so any numbers on the dies would need to be black, silver, or white. I love opalescent, blues/purples (blurple), etc. Glow in the dark is fun. What's your favorite creature? My pigs and my dogs? I can't just choose one creature. I love corvids, bats, equines (especially friesians and warlanders and lusitanos), dolphins, pit bulls, and lots of fantasy creatures. Leafy sea dragons! I would love to have a hedgehog and a chinchilla someday, also a sugar glider. I love ratties and ferrets too. I would totally have a French Bull dog if I could afford one but more pitbulls need homes than frenchies, so pibbles it is. I have a blue tick coonhound as well, pretty much same reason. Problem dog who needed a home that wouldn't give up on her. She is such a butt!! I love snakes and lizards too. Probably all creatures except spiders and wasps and non kindly creepy crawlies. (I'm ok looking at spiders but I don't want one for a pet and they get relocated out of the house. I have found many black widows here. urg.) Do you like reading comics? If you haven't really read 'em, would you be interested in receiving a few that match your book genre preferences? Meh, I'm not super into comics anymore. Graphic novels are a little better but my eyes are so bad that I really have to do ebooks where I can enlarge the font. Sad face. I'm headed to Puerto Rico in July - anything particularly interesting you would like from there? oooh! Fun!!! I have no idea what is available there but yes, definitely interested! (Did some googling) Casa BACARDÍ Special Reserve or other rum? Some local speciality spices (recao), jam, sauce, or hot sauce? One of their cool wooden mortar and pestles (Pilon?) A Guiro? Mundillo lace? Just a handkerchief or something small. Butterfly art would be pretty cool too, I have some from Panama. Food or snacks. Local candy. Anything really!! Would you be interested in receiving a small bottle of home infused whiskey aged from commercially produced moonshine? Any particular flavors you might enjoy (examples include orange chai or cinnamon chocolate or hot peppers)? yes yes yes. orange chai sounds lovely, or cinnamon chocolate. Not a huge fan of "hot" peppers or pepper flavored drinks. Honey, lavender, rose (not sure how flower ones would go with whisky ?) I won't be able to drink for a year starting in like August or something so just a small tiny nip bottle is good. Would you be interested in homemade shortbread that fits your flavor preferences? oooh yes. I love chocolate shortbread but wouldn't say no to lavender or rose or whatever other kind. 6/1/22 If your bday is during the swap, how are you planning to celebrate? It is not. My son's and dad's are though, usually cake/candles (for son even though he's over 30) and probably dinner out for both. Likewise, how do you celebrate relevant spiritual holidays in this time period? Lately I haven't been celebrating much since I'm so isolated out here in the middle of nowhere and all of my friends are on the West coast. Sometimes a bonfire, or candles, or quiet contemplation, it just depends on what is appropriate for said event. Anything you want from the UK? Like, everything. I love Bird & Blend tea! I love cool things from UK Lush that we can't get in the US. Other indie things are always good too. As far as B&B products, I like things that are super highly scented. Also I am hopefully trading for some Ginger Nuts, Jaffa Cakes, digestive biscuits, and some other UK goodies. Seeds, y/n? Right now I think I'd prefer actual plants as we have a really short growing season here and seeds should have been started in March for summer things. But I do have grow lights if it's seeds that I absolutely need and it will be house plants or something that is not an annual. Are you interested in skincare/shampoo/conditioner? I use The Ordinary (like a set of things) so technically I'm probably good on skincare even though I bet my questionnaire still said I needed a good moisturizer. I can always use good shampoo/conditioner and my dogs especially can use a good shampoo and conditioner! I just got a new shower head yesterday so I can give them baths again without using cups of water to get them wet and rinse them. (The handheld wand was clogged up. FIXED! BRING ON THE DOG SHAMPOO!) I have dog shampoo in my Amazon wishlist "for the pups" -- really gearing towards a professional or highly rated one so I have a bunch of ideas in there. For ME, I prefer non-SLS/parabens/phlatamumbles as stated in my questionnaire. Are you interested in tights? If so, what thickness, style, and size? yeah, no. I'm doing weight loss right now and don't know what size I'll end up plus I just don't love tights. PJ's forever! Do you use tarot decks? Would you like to receive more - and if so, can you list the ones you already have? I have a bunch of decks but I would love the Abigail Larson one on my Amazon wishlist. I have .... Nightmare Before Christmas (Abigail Larson, lol!), Wise Dog (my dogs Jake & Lela - rip - are the Two of Cups), Game of Thrones, Last Unicorn, a Vampire one that was second hand, and a couple others that I'm blanking on the names. What do you think of the art on this website? https://www.printisdead.co.uk/ I love the Bat & Peonies! I like a lot of their skull items as long as they're not sepia / beige / yellow. Raven and Full Moon, Lunar Cycle/Full Moon, Celestial Fox, Aurora Fox, uncolored Cat Skul, Bleeding Roses with white background, Skeleton Hand & Hellebores, Raven and Roses, floral pentacle (uncolored), Fox Skull (black/white either one - leaning towards one with black background), Purple Orchids (white background)... I didn't go through them all, but yes. Although some just have too much color (totally ok on the mostly blue/purple ones.) Is loose leaf tea good, or do you prefer bagged? I way prefer loose leaf but I'll do bagged if the blend I want isn't available loose. I make arm warmers. I make them from sweaters I thrifted. They can be all one color, or stripes of different colors. They can be long, to the elbows, or shorter. If you would like a pair, tell me your favorite colors. Solids are more generally elegant, Stripes can be as wildly funky as you wish. Long? Short? Cashmere? Tell me your fingerless mitts arm warmer dreams. I love gradient and stripey armwarmers in black + color (usually blurple) and like mid arm. Cashmere, merino, silk. All good. 6/2/22 PBSW Summer collection is live!!! Anything catch your eye? Ummmm Bath Streusel or Sorbetto in: * Journey in Satchidananda * Red Cow * Moonshadow (and wax melts in this scent!) * The Queen is Dead Tiny samples of Crystalcore and/or Longest Day? Oh! I would love some Clean Slate scrub. 6/4/22 It's farmers market season in town and I have loads of lovely local artisans to shop from. Would you be interested in items from any of the following?
The Rod Homestead (I love this one I helped fund her commercial kitchen) - dill mustard! Honey anything. Working Class Coffee - looks like they only have one type of coffee in a k cup, so that would work, sounds good. Philly Nuts Yum! Mango, peach, or pineapple cashews, butter toffee or smoked almonds, and zomg honey roasted mixed nuts!! 222 Creations not really my style Carol's Epiphany No thanks 6/5/22 I am learning to do embroidery. Would you possibly like a simple hand embroidered piece? sure? If you would like this is there a simple favorite flower or summer symbol, like a bee? a rose or lavender is great! (Purple rose of course.) What kind of sprite would you prefer? A ninja or to know the ID right away? I like both styles for different reasons i like to be surprised at the end! 6/6/22 Are you ok with shunga label art (bpal?) I'm fine with it on bottles? I wouldn't necessarily want it framed on my wall or anything. I dye yarn. Is custom yarn of interest to you?. Sure! - If so, colors? I have various weights of wool, sport and dk cotton, cotton thread in 3/2 and 5/2, and light fingering weight bamboo rayon that dyes like a dream so I don't really love variegated yarn. I'm firmly in gradients, self striping, speckles, and semi solids. Look at my ravelry stash and you'll see the colors I like. Cool leaning Black, all the cool leaning shades of grey, blurples, blackened reds, etc. preferably blackened colors or jewel tones, no navy, no pastels, no fluorescent.
fingering through bulky is great for merino. Light fingering bamboo rayon is fine. Otherwise no alpaca, llama, bfl, cotton (except for worsted for wash clothes), etc. My European travels are expanding! Anything you want from Portugal or Berlin??? oh, matchbooks from everywhere!! If they let you fly with those. I'll have to google when I get home to answer this more thoroughly. My friend makes cool art with garbage, is there anything here you might like?
https://www.garbageforgood.com/ mostly not my style but thank you. 6/8/22 Would you like items related to your astrological sign and if so what is it? Meh. I'm a Virgo. There is some Abigail Larson artwork for the zodiac signs that I like - I think I have her Virgo rendition on my society6 wishlist for one of the travel mugs but of course no one can see it because I can't figure out how to share it!
6/12/22 what do you think of plushies? i love super cute amigurumi (like gothic and nerdy ones, I have a great vampire bat and a cthulhu as well as a black unicorn) but I have to be super careful because my dogs also love them. To death. By evisceration. Are there any Korean or Japanese food/craft/self-care items you would be interested in in receiving? i love Japanese incense but I don't burn a lot because respiratory issues. Low smoke is good! I could really use a good soy sauce dish for sushi but I can't seem to find any super gothy or cute ones and I forgot to look while I was in Seattle. One with a lucky cat would be fun (blue? No brown please.) Japanese Kit Kats!!!! Whatever else you think I might like. Is there anything for your garden or houseplants that you need, or would like (tiny, hand thrown cachepot for a prized astrophytum, etc.), or are you proudly black thumb and shun any plant that isn't resin? I know this is not about plants themselves, but if did want to get me some plants, I love scented geraniums, the more unusual the better. (Like no citrus or citonrella.) Attar of roses, oak, musk, coconut, lavender, cinnamon, apricot, pineapple, cedar, strawberry, almond, apple, peach, ginger, nutmeg, etc. https://www.colonialcreekfarm.com/Scented-Geraniums_c_29-3.html for example. Other than plants themselves and maybe potting soil, I don't think I need anything, we have tons of plant tools and pots. How many books is too many books? so I read almost constantly but I get a lot of ebooks from the library and also my friend in France sends me tons and tons of ebooks. So books really aren't a priority for me, I have sooooo many to read and the round will be over before Nona the Ninth comes out (almost on my birthday, I think a day off, lol) and that is the book I'm most excited about and would like my own copy of. (My son ordered me the artwork from the covers of Gideon, harrow, and Nona... still waiting for it to arrive.). I love Gideon. I .WOULD TAKE MOST things Gideon! Also excuse caps, I'm typing in iPad and Zuul is getting in my way, because there is no iPad, only Zuul!!!! https://www.tommyarnoldart.com/nona-the-ninth-torcom-publishing 6/13/22 I’m knitting up washcloths right now. Would you like some? I'm good, still living with others so don't need things like that.
any spices you need/want? I’m fleshing out a Penzey's order!! i have spices on one my Amazon lists! I do love me some penzeys and would totally take some of their smoked salt and maybe some chili seasoning (900?) since we make a ton of "bad to the bone" vegan chili. your feelings on chocolate? Milk chocolate, Dark chocolate, White chocolate? with or without nuts? How about truffly goodness? you're obviously not my sprite because I have so much chocolate on my Amazon snack list. I really try to do fair trade / slave free chocolate and a lot of those brands on my Amazon list meet that criteria. I loooooove truffles. White is not chocolate, chocolate must contain cocoa butter. Nuts are good, especially almonds or pecans. Milk is better in bar form, dark chocolate is good on caramels or truffles or in baked goods. 6/17/22 Do you want anything for your vehicle? Like bumper stickers or magnets? I don't put any stickers at all on my car or car windows anymore. I used to but kind of fell out of the habit. It used to make for interesting conversations on the ferry or in a huge traffic jam in Seattle; I'd have people get out of their car to come talk to me (which makes me super uncomfortable!) Right now I live in a red area so I try to keep my weirdness to a minimum. I do have some pibble window vinyl things but I am too lazy to actually apply them since it seems like a big ordeal. Plus they're packed up somewhere with the majority of my belongings so I have no idea where they even are, I'd totally forgotten about them until now. any interest in Japanese fashion-ish items? (kanzashi hair pins, and other things made form old kimono fabric, fans, tenugui, etc?) I would LOVE a stack of recycled kimono silk in blues, purples, greys, blacks, reds, greens. Lots of it. All the kimono silk. But I rarely leave the house and don't have any place to put a lot of items that aren't consumable (I would absolutely use the kimono silk to make things) and I'm not fashionable. 6/21/22 Would you use cbd infused bath products?
absolutely! Parents have a medical license and grew a lot of their own last year (no one smokes here though.) Mom makes infused coconut oil for edibles and salves for skin/muscles. What colors are your kitchen stuffs? I am in a shared living situation right now and don't have my own kitchen, sad trombone. When I do have a kitchen it's pretty much black, white, and pops of cool jewel tones (rich darker purple, burgundy, sapphire blue, sometimes green.) And I have a skull / skeleton theme with NMBC cookie jars. I shall never grow up.
If I knitted up a scarf/shawl/something in the wearable area what colors would you like and please be pretty specific. I like gradients and honestly I mostly wear my white to black gradient shawls the most. (and only shawlettes as I wear them like infinity scarves or double loop cowls.) Sometimes I might wear cool toned blurples over a black or black/white dress. Grey is good too. —->. One big box or a couple starting now?? Well, I've already gotten some! But I'm good with little things all along or just one at the end, whatever is easier for my Sprite. How close to the final deadline would you prefer to receive your package? Should we try to squeak as close to August 31st as humanly possible, or would it be okay to send the package earlier? If you're going to be traveling and need to mail sooner, do what is good for you. 6/22/22 I am afraid to send chocolate in this heat. What other things might you enjoy? Gourmet lollipops? Handmade Marshmallows (not by me LOL)? Flavored cotton candy? other ideas? I have lots of idea in my etsy treats list that do include flavored cotton candy and other things. Tea is always good as well. I can't have too many sweet things as I'm going to be going on a liver reduction diet pretty soon, I also won't be able to do caffeine, so maybe some herbal tea / tissanes? I have a few hibiscus blends and other non caffeine on my wish list if you need to compare. (I hate chamomile. Please nothing with chamomile in it.)
do you have any reservations about wearing leather, like in an accessory?? No, I wear leather. 6/30/22 Does any August Uncommon black tea or their other tea sound good to you? (because sale on black tea until 7/4.) I already have a ton of my Amazon Beverage wishlist. However... In no particular order other than the order they were on the website:
Golden Arrow (Smoky Toffee Black Tea)
Outlaw (Smoky Cherry Black Tea)
Civil Disobedience (Smoky Cardamom Black Tea)
Gold Rush (Orange Rosemary Caramel Black Tea) (I'm not sure how I feel about malty flavors so I left the ones with malt out otherwise maybe a 4 cup sample of Bourbon Sugar Black Tea!) 7/5/22 So apparently there's this cute little outdoor market here that sells locally made dishcloths and similar- would you be interested in having some tea towels or similar from Portugal, dear Spritz? All of the cute locally made things that Suki picks out! 7/22/22 Anything look appealing from the Nocturne Alchemy gemstone scent drop today? Eternal Ankh Purpurite Eternal Ankh Tanzanite A sample of the Malachite and/or Azurite ENTERNAL ANKH PINK But it sold out already, weep!!! I was absolutely going to do an order RIGHT NOW and get a couple of bottles of pink but I guess it wasn't to be. I still haven't ordered the summer LE's because I am so broke from having to buy hay for the winter. So really, it being sold out has saved me from further credit card debt! whew!! I have already the Red, Black, and Fluorite (and love them!) and I've tried the Blue, Cobalt, and Claret. (I liked the Claret but I have sooo many red musk scents. Or did. I did a thorough destashing and might be almost out, ha.) After looking over the scent notes again, I can't believe I haven't tried the Orange (it sounds very incensey!) or the Purple (I think I was scared by the Jasmine but I've had NAVA's Jasmine work on me since then, so ...) Would also love to try the Orchid and Spice. Really I'd be ok trying samples of any of the ones I haven't tried, I just don't especially gravitate to florals or fruits. How about the BPAL Dragon*Con Peaches? No thank you, I don't really have luck with the peaches.
2022 This is Halloween answered questions
5. What are some OCYL brands you've been wanting to dabble in? NAVA is my go to right now (but mostly vanillas, ambers, roses, musks, patchoulis.) I would like try Cellar Door candles! I've tried their soap and it was pretty fabulous (just the sample bars) so I'd love some full sized. I'm open to try other OCYL brands for scrubs and bath products (but maybe not perfume) as long as sulfate, silicon, paraben, phthalate, etc. free. 6. I am working on making bath bombs. Would you be willing to try my creations? Of course as long as they are sulfate, silicon, paraben, phthalate, etc. free.
6a. How about wax tarts? Of course!
6b. What type of scents do you favor? I have covered this pretty thoroughly in my profile, SW help, and questionnaire I think!
7. What kinds of home smell good things do you like? (I.e. incense, candles, wax melts, felt scent balls, essential oils, linen spray) Low smoke incense, high quality candles and wax melts, essential oils, linen & atmosphere spray, dryer scent balls, rose beads, car fresheners of all kinds, soap in with my shirts and socks and unmentionables, scent beads in little jars... I mean, if it smells good, I am HERE for it. (I just have to make sure it doesn't set off my allergies or respiratory issues.) 8. would you like anything from the bath and bodyworks Halloween line? I really wanted their bat wallflower night light! (I have a haunted house one from them.) BUT I went into the store and my store had a really cool Raven (on a blue/gray pumpkin) wallflower night light!!! I want it!! I also sniffed all the things and added what I like to my amazon fragrance wishlist. I was really happy to see that all of the aromatherapy body care is now made without sulfates, parabens, or artificial dyes. I also saw a sign that their soaps are there too. I hope the rest of their body care gets there. So anyway, I would gratefully accept car scent refills (and I love the crescent moon car scent holder), wall flower refills (and the raven wallflower), pillow mists (the aromatherapy line), candles, and fragrance mists or spray perfume. And antibac. So here is my scent list: Dark Amber & Oud (candle) Vanilla bean (candle) Pumpkin Bonfire (this totally smells like CLOVE. which is hilarious because their "pumpkin clove" scent smells like cinnamon.) (candle or wall flower) Warm Vanilla Sugar (wall flower) Vanilla Birch (wall flower) Enchanted Candy Potion (spray, wall flower, anti bac) Vampire Blood (car scent, anti bac) Into the Night (soap, mist, or spray perfume) Eucalyptus Sage (aromatherapy line - pillow mist) Cedar Ylang Ylang (aromatherapy line - pillow mist) Lavender Vanilla (aromatherapy line - pillow mist) 9. Do you have any interest in spooky squishmallows? YES ALL THE SPOOKY THINGS. Especially bats. I think their Plague Doctor is cute too. Or am I thinking of Squishables? Cthulhu always accepted. Black Philip. Baphomet. 10. Would you enjoy spooky stationary? I would love spooky stickers and blank cards with cute spooky artwork! And some good quality ball point or gel pens. 11. I know a lot of us are witchy and have deeply held beliefs about the materials we use as part of our practice. If you're one of those individuals, are there certain herbs, crystals, etc that you do not want to receive? I can't think of any. I'm set for smoke type sticks (we made our own with mugwort and lavender) but if you make them too, I would love one! I don't need tumbled rocks / crystals and I'm probably set for small obsidian pebbles but I can always use palm stones / worry stones, beads, scrying mirrors, towers, orbs, etc. 12. When you have a distinct preference for one holiday over another, What are some cross over items that actually work for both? All of Nightmare before Christmas? *head tilt* I keep my Halloween stuff up all year so prefer things like NMBC, bats, corvids, gargoyles, skulls/skeletons and not things like witches, ghosts, zombies, pumpkins. Oh, now that I read the question in the forum I see - between Halloween and Fall. For me they are pretty much one in the same! *grin* 13. One question (that is actually several questions) -- Local honey? YES ALL THE LOCAL UNPASTUERIZED HONEY! (we make mead, so seriously -- all the honey. Like there is never enough honey -- but I really don't want honey that is pasteurized or from grocery stores as imported honey is not checked by FDA and is often loaded with nastiness like antibiotics or other gross things and/or is fake. Honey is one of the THIRD most faked products besides milk and olive oil and over a third of honey in US grocery stores has pollen filtered out and/or has other undeclared things added, like corn syrup or beet syrup. Laboratories have figured out how to modify high fructose corn syrup to look like honey!) SO LET'S SUPPORT OUR LOCAL BEEKEEPERS!!! 13a. Infused/flavored honey? YES 13b. Local infused/flavored honey with Southwest notes (jalapeno, other pepper, mesquite, acacia)? YES 14. Does anything from JiJi Knight spark your interest? https://jijiknight.com/ Not my style, sorry! 15. Any spooky/weenie DVDs you're missing and would like in your collection? NMBC? the Crow? An old Hammer film? Dark Shadows? The Omen? Sleepy Hallow?...? I have a DVD/Blu-Ray wishlist on Amazon but I don't think any are especially spooky. I really do most of my watching as streaming since I don't have a blu-ray / dvd player in my room. 16. Dang (or good!), another serious question -- Shampoo and/or conditioner bars and if so, for what type of hair (dry, fine, oily, curly, normal)? I like shampoo and conditioner bars and other naked bath products. I have fine straight hair that is going grey and hopefully will be colored again soonish. Volume boost is my favorite. No sulfates, etc. please. (curse LUSH for having sulfates in their shampoo bars!!) 17. I just got the email that the Ectogasm Halloween Collection is live. Does anything interest you? https://www.ectogasm.net/collections/halloween I have some of their things on my etsy wishlist! Bats, obviously. Carpe Noctem. Red Rose Planchette. Winged skull washi tape! Moon and Roses stained glass sun catcher. Miskatonic University pin. 18. On a scale from Paprika Is a Heatwave to Let Me Eat a Peck of Pickled Ghost Chiles, how spicy is too spicy, and how spicy is just right? Jalapeno and Smoked Jalapeno (Chipotle) are my favs. I go through the tabasco sauces of those two like water! We make candied jalapenos and I have lots of chipotle powder and dried jalapeno and such. Would be up for trying hot sauces similar! (I have Yellowbird Jalapeno sauce and the Trader Joes jalapeno sauce.) 19. I make lightweight hairfalls- would you be interested in some? Either to incorporate into a costume or just for your own year-round use? If so, name your colors and preferred length, and if you have any fiber allergies you want me to take note of! I have some hairfalls and never ever wear them (nor do I even leave the house most of the time) so would be wasted on me right now. 20: If I were to make you a set of arm warmers/ fingerless mitts, what color(s) & style would you like? Gothy. Black/Purple or Black/White stripes Long or short? Medium 21. Homemade canned and baked and concocted goodies? Any aversions? Bring 'em on! (I don't like Okra so no canned okra please.) 22. If I could make you some of my fudge, what would you prefer? ALL OF THEM. And the Penuche without nuts. 23. Are you open to trying different indie perfume houses if I find a scent that I think you'd enjoy? Maybe if it's in an atomizer? I haven't had good luck with most indie perfumers besides NAVA and BPAL, and BPAL is starting to not work on me (probably because of all of the medication I have to take.) 24. I love making stickers!! If I could design you some stickers, what would you love to have? It could be halloween themed or not! My art style is a bit simplistic, cartoony, and cutesy, I usually draw fairies but last year I did a swap on reddit and made someone a bunch of halloween dog stickers lol. (Sidenote: They probably won't be waterproof, but they're glossy vinyl!) Bats! And my dogs or pigs would be cool. 25. I've got a bunch of small round labels perfect for bpal 5ml label lid art! Name your top 5-10 scents that you'd love to have lid art made for! Just as a fun little extra in your package if desired (Could also work for other companies with lids just like the BPAL bottles) Eternal Ankh, Lavender Dolphin, Snake Oil, Satyr, Foxes with Sweaters and Scarves, Unicorns & Stars, Vampire Rose Bat, Vampire Vanilla Bat, Polychrome, Tomb of the Undead 26. I'm going to Disneyworld in late September! I'll be going to all four parks and attending both the Not-So-Scary Halloween Bash and Epcot's Food and Wine Festival. Is there ANYTHING from Disney that you would like? Is there something you collect that perhaps you'd enjoy a Disney version of (tea, socks, enamel pins, plushies etc etc etc)??? Take me with you! Anything and everything NMBC (not socks though since I have huge feet.) 27. Would you like any decor from Say Target, Homewood, or William and Sonoma? I have lots of ideas for decor on my amazon lists under furniture & home, everyday is halloween, etc. so if you see something you think I'd like, go for it! Preferably nothing orange/gold/bronze. (I do silver toned or black metals, otherwise purple, black, jewel toned blues (no navy), grey, black & white, cool leaning burgundy/dark reds.) 28. I am going to Dragon Con for the first time! Which of these BPALs do you want? If they have Snake Milk or anything else on my BPAL wish list, I'm game but no peaches please. 29. But, I am going to Dragon Con this weekend. Is there anything you would like? Lab wise or just general geekery I'm sure there are tons of things sold at the conventions that I would adore but I'll leave it up to your judgement! I used to get a lot of jewelry at cons back in the day. *skipping 30-37 because I asked those* 38. I make specialty simple syrups. You can use them in teas or cocktails (and desserts). How do you feel about a Hibiscus simple syrup? I use 2 ounce bottles for these so its just a fun amount. Yum!!! 39. Format for tea? e.g. teabag vs loose I prefer loose but sometimes I can only get teabags so those are ok as well. (also tea pods for k-cup machines.) 40. Do you like spooky themed tights? If so, what are your measurements? No tights please. 41. Pls post your book wishlist! It's on Amazon, link is under SW help. I only do epub/mobi (I guess kindle is changing to epub soon, so that is preferable) and I get so many books from the library that I only want the HIGH and HIGHEST priority -- OR if one of the discworlds goes on sale for $1 or something. I pre-ordered Nona the Ninth kindle but I would love the whole Locked Tomb series on audiobook! 42. Would you like to receive a 2D collage art piece? What overall vibe would you be into? (spooky, autumnal, whimsical, eerie, lovely, occult, bizarre, smutty etc.?) I'm not sure I'm super into collage but if it's gargoyles/grotesques/bats/ravens and mostly black/white/purple, it could be ok? (Having a hard time envisioning.) 43. Do you like rocks/gemstone jewelry? Prefer polished/smooth rocks or raw/rough? Any favorite stones, rocks, colors that you'd like? I don't really wear jewelry right now, but I'd love some stretchy gemstone bracelets to use as shawl fasteners. I have a bunch on my amazon jewelry list to give you an idea of stones I like. I also love palm stones, worry stones, pocket pebbles, towers, orbs... I mostly like shiny unless geode or pretty crystal structure. Charging slabs are good too. I could use a much larger piece of Auralite 23 and I always love Aqua Aura. Blues, purples, blacks, greys, or for purpose/intent. 44. Any interest in the August releases that got announced today? https://blackphoenixalchemylab.com/product-tag/august-2022/ Unfortunately, yes! Ceres (decant), Charcoal Champa Resin Tobacco (decant or bottle), Empowering (TAL, decant or bottle), Forge of Vulcan (decant), Lavender Buttercream (bottle), Moon when the Cherries Turn Black (BOTTLE!). I might end up ordering the lunacy and lavender buttercream if they don't sell out before I get some $$$. 45. Luvmilks seasonal goodies are out! What scents and formats appeal to you, my little pumpkin? https://www.luvmilk.com/mm2022.html#/ Dusting Powder: Scarecrow with Girlfriend or Lover Bath Milk or Salts, Sugar Scrub, : Clown with Girlfriend, Pegasus with Girlfriend, Scarecrow with Girlfriend or Lover And I always adore their lip balm in Baby Bat and Aphrodite's Altar. 46. Would you like a Pyrex 4-cup Nightmare Before Christmas bowl with lid? (Can also get Starwars and various Disney ones.) I have enough of the 4 cup and 7 cup but I'd love one of the rectangular ones if you can find it! (and I love pyrex 4 cup with bats!!) 47. August Tea's fall sale starts tomorrow, 20% off everything on the site with code FALL20. Is there anything you would like to try, my Pumpkin? https://august.la/ OMG YES. I have all kinds of wishes from here under my amazon beverage list. 48. I've recently taken up embroidery, would you like a small (I embroider on 4" hoops) embroidered piece? What sort of design would you like? BAT... or pibble. (NAIL POLISH - covered in questionnaire I think??) 49. Would you like either a basket or a tablemat (that works as a place to put hot dishes as well as being decorative). Yes!!! Either or both. Preference to basket if just one. 50. I'm going to the farmer's market tomorrow, and there are lots of great vendors. Would you be interested in soap or chapstick or bath/body products? Whatever you think I might love! 51. Would you be interested in a tumbler like these? If so, what theme would you like it to be? Glitter or no glitter? What color do you want the liquid to be or would you prefer the blood drip look? Pass, thank you! 52. How do you feel about ribbons? Is there anything in particular you are looking for if you'd want some? What about ribbon remnants? Colors/textures? I don't really use ribbons but thank you! 53. Would you be interested in any skincare items? Anything you would not want? Ummm anything that's in my bath/fragrance/whatever amazon wish list or similar! (no sulfates, parabens, ptha-mumble-ates) 54. Is anyone else interested in the latest Sphere & Sundry release? https://sphereandsundry.com/offerings/bpals-of-exalted-venus-ii/ Or other S&S offerings? Always! Anything you think I'd like. 55. Do you have any interest in trying my infused moonshine whiskey? I've been thinking of experimenting with autumn spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, clove) and maybe a chocolate chai. Of course!! Nom! 56. Any interest in spooky shape wax melts in your favorite candle scents? (What are your favorite candle scents?) Sure! Probably vanillas, marshmallow, patchouli, clove... same as perfume scents too. I used to have a spiced plum candle I adored. I like men's/unisex fragrances in candles as well, like Drakkar Noir, CK1, CKB. Nostalgic. Witches Brew from Yankee is one of my favorite scents! I probably have candle and melt scents on my wishlist (under PBSW), etsy lists, maybe amazon fragrance list, and up above under the Bath & Bodyworks question since I liked some of their candle scents this year. 57. How about lotion bars? I like the concept but I never use them and they end up going bad. 58. Bird and Blend tea just did their Autumn drop! Anything look good to you? https://www.birdandblendtea.us (Also, if you're not a pumpkin person, I invite you to check out the rest of their offerings, which are always exceptional!) I already have ALL the Bird & Blend on my amazon beverages wishlist. Love love love! (For the autumn season, maybe the sticky pumpkin chai, campfires & vampires?) And Butter Brew! 59. Arcana Craves halloween drop! Anything catching your eye? https://arcanacraves.com/ No, I don't do Arcana much anymore, thank you. 60. I feel like with some of the witchy/seasonal stuff it might be helpful to know everyone's signs. If you're interested in that kind of thing, what's your sign? Virgo 61. Would you like anything from The Pickety Witch? (I'm going to the Vegas Oddities and Curiosities Expo next weekend, and she's vending there, so it may not matter if an item is in stock or not on the website!) https://www.thepicketywitch.com/ UM YES OMG THE BABY GOAT PLUSHIES BAPHY in purple or black! Plus I have had their Black Philip pin on my etsy wishlist for years, I'm glad to see they've expanded and now have their own website and a larger line of things! PINS in no particular order: Learning to Summon, Harvest Crow, Demon Cat, Unicorn of the Forbidden Forest, Peony Witch Hat, Witch Boots, Ghost Goat. (her bats have dangling things on them which to my autistic self is a big NOPE.) Only silver ones though? I didn't realize some are rose gold or copper or other colors. 62. so these nail polishes keep showing up on my instagram and they are kinda vampy--do you wear polish and do any of these float your boat? NOTE I have never worn Holo Taco stuff so cannot vouch for quality just the vibes are super witchy 🙂 https://www.holotaco.com/collections/dark-rainbow-collection I haven't actually painted even my toes for over a year so I'm going to say no. 63. Favorite bands/artists? Perhaps you'd be interested in a DIY patch to sew onto your jacket/pants/bag or maybe pins or a sticker or anything DIY-ish? I don't wear a jacket or coat that you can sew things onto or carry any bags. Or wear pants much, haha. (PJ's forever!) So I'm going to say no. 64. Is there anything from Lush you are coveting? Their halloweenie stuff is out here: https://www.lushusa.com/halloween/?cgid=halloween&pmid=604&start=0&sz=28 I have my LUSH wishes on my Amazon bath & beauty & fragrance list. 65. sock dreams? yea or nay? Anything in particular catch your eyes? Keep in mind that I only wear socks literally maybe once or twice a year in the winter when I am forced to actually leave the house to go somewhere (feeding animals doesn't count because I just slip on lined boots without socks.) But I do have sock dreams wishes on my Wishlist / SW help. 66. https://rockytopsoap.com Do you have any interest in these? Star Anise lip balm. Maybe the most moisturizing? (Triple butter, oatmeal, avocado.) 67. Nocturne Alchemy just dropped their Halloween 2022 limited collection! I am popping in here to see if anything would strike the fancy of my pumpkin? 😁 https://nocturnealchemy.com/collections/limited-collection/products/new-halloween-2022-limited-collection I am ordering Googly Bat, Vintage Werewolf, and the Sommeil but I added others to my Wishlist / SW Help. I especially want Neon Wolf, and Neon Vampiress and lots of decants! 68. Here's a question... there's sooooooo many on here about tea but for my fellow coffee gals... do you prefer whole bean or ground?? if there's a choice how do you like your coffee ground?? I don't know where any of my coffee makers are right now (french press or toddy, that's all I really use) so I'm using my parent's keurig. So, kcups. I mean, I *do* know where my grinder is and I could do the self made k-cups, but it's unlikely I would actually do it since it seems like someone is always in the way. 69. Look at Cat Coven's site and tell me what you see that appeals - she is one of my favorite Halloweeny artists, and makes awesome things. I like supporting her work. https://www.catcoven.com/collections/new-arrivals I used to have things from Cat Coven on one of my amazon lists but I can't remember off the top of my head what it was. I don't use patches and their "curious wanderer" pin (and dragon) are gold colored, puke. I do love the Fantasy Creatures (x-ray) pillow case. And Metamorphosis (lavender.) 70. Are you interested in any art supplies? If so, what kinds and colours? Right now I think I'm good really except for maybe some cool findings in end caps but I don't know exactly what size I need so I suck, sorry.
71. What are your fave smells for incense, and do you have a preference for format (cones, stick, loose without needing charcoal, loose that needs charcoal)? Same as my fave smells for everything else really? Vanilla, Nag Champa, Rose, Sandalwood, Dragon's Blood -- I have some incense on my fragrance wishlist. I love blends too? I just need low smoke if possible, or I'll have to burn it outside. I love resins and loose incense for charcoal but I rarely use it because of the smoke involved, only in the fall, winter, or spring when I can be outside without roasting or being eaten by bugs. (I guess that's coming up!!) I really need more SAND for my charcoal!! The darn dogs spilled my last bit of sand that was in my burner. I'd love red, black, purple, or white sand.
72. Anything catch your eye from this super cool queer creepy-cute style UK artist? https://www.abprallen.co.uk/ too pastel! Do not like the colors. Sorry. 73. Pls say more about your book preferences if you haven't already! Esp. regarding fiction. The only books I would SUPER love are Seanan Maguire's new October Daye book (Be the Serpent) on kindle, and OMG THE GOLDEN ENCLAVES coming out later this month on kindle. Or the Locked Tomb series on audio (I already have the kindle books for all three - Gideon, Harrow, and Nona - so I can buy the audible books for $7.95 each and I'm not sure if someone else can buy them for you, so a GC would work best in this regard probably?)
Yule Cat Answers
Interested in anything from Odins Daughter? Bath soaks sound lovely (all three sound good, but maybe especially banish because cloves.) YULE and Winter Nights both sound amazing. Candles / Mist. Two Faces of Hel candle!! BONFIRE melts!! And tacking on to this question for others in reference to Em, I make infused vodkas! The one I am most proud of right now is a spiced hibiscus liqueur. I make this as a jelly, too. As far as the Liqueur, We have been making an autumn Moscow Mule with it, and the other day I made a Mai Tai! Its yummy! I already have both the hibiscus liqueur and jelly from MsASofgg! Would take any other infused vodkas! If I can find the recipe, I want to make my grandmas Orange Slice Cake. Its a super yummy cake but a bit difficult to make as far as cutting up all the oranges. If you would like a mini cake IF I make it, lemme know! As long as the coconut could be left out? (I'm not really a fan of nuts in cake either. It's a texture thing.) I do molasses gingerbread cookies, as well as hot cocoa cookies, florentines and butterballs. Any of those sound good? OR homemade chocolate fudge? I can do peppermint, coffee or orange additions, with or without nuts. Hello molasses gingerbread cookies!! I'm good for almost any kind of cookies but do not love coffee flavored things and meh on peppermint. I don't really like nuts or coconut or texture things in my baked goods. Fudge I am kind of meh on unless it is penuche or a super special flavor (because we make SO much fudge, I'm totally burned out on it!) My favorite incense store is Good Earth Mercantile, any interest for an incense from them? I don't know much about them, if it is low smoke and they don't use phthalates or other things in their scents for the incense, then yesssss. Orange patchouli! Maybe Lilith? I went through and added a bunch to my etsy altar/incense wishlist. Are you a cotton candy fan? Would anything from Chocolate Storybook interest you? I like cotton candy and I probably have things from this company already on my etsy snacks/tea/noms wishlist, haha! Body Scrubs from CarolinaOrganicsSC are AHHHHMAZING! Any interest? OMG their bath bombs are too cute! And I love Stranger Things. I would definitely try any of their items that match my scent profile in bath bombs, melts, candles, shampoo bars, body scrubs, maybe soap if their soap is spectacular as well. The Dark Kiss bath bomb looks awesome (I wonder if they'll put their Halloween items on sale??) Again, I didn't find a scent list and I'm not in a place right now where I can click on All The Things with my hand pain. House of MetalWorks has super cute and dainty gold-filled stacking rings in my price range! If this interests you, include ring size! I love silver colored dainty rings! I am an 11 on almost all of my fingers except pinkies. Several questionnaires mention joy in receiving homemade baked goods. What are your favorite holiday baked goods? Cookies, Cakes, Fudge? Other? I love soft, chewy, and moist things, as opposed to hard/dry/cronchy. Chewy molasses cookies are something that don't seem to be made at home. I love a good medieval ginger brede (soft, sticky.) And pumpkin gingerbread (like pumpkin bread.) I would love to try things like butter pie (sweet, not the savory kind in England) but I'm sure that won't travel well. I have an allergy to corn, so please no corn syrup or other corn products. No artificial sweeteners. No coconut. (coconut sugar/oil/etc. is ok, I just don't like the texture of coconut.) I try to do organic and non-gmo as much as possible. Yep, I'm one of those weird people. Sorry, not sorry. (We make: rum balls, krumkake, spritz cookies (usually flavored with rum or almond), chocolate chip cookies, fudge (chocolate), chocolate tiffin (usually with cherries/shortbread), cherry/almond/marzipan/pear/amaretto fruitcake, sugar cookies, scottish tablet, russian teacakes, princess buttercups, peanut butter cookies, snickerdoodles, cranberry bliss bar sbux dupe, flaky peanut brittle, chocolate topped butter toffee almond bark (like almond roca I guess, but flat?), ummmm brain has now shut down so I'll edit if I remember more of what we traditionally make.) It sounds like we eat a lot of cookies/candy but we usually make them to give to neighbors and as care packages. We also make (and eat) a lot of Lefse during the holidays. Are you into peanut butter cookies? If yes, would you enjoy them with creamy or crunchy PB? I prefer creamy -- I don't like cronchy texture in my baked goods. (So no nuts in anything soft.) I am thinking of making flavored sugar. wtf, all of them. I can use them on caramels and cookies. (rose and lavender are my top, maybe lavender lemon.) Would you like anything from Witch Baby Soap? (Make sure to check the Throwback Thursday section of the website; they bring back a few things every Thursday!) I went through and added a bunch of things to my Amazon Universal wishlist (under bath/beauty/body) Pickety witch has the yule offerings up, including Yule Cat pins (black or white) and ornaments. Which do you love most? YES YES YES the white Yule Cat pin. There are so many there I want. Do you like any specific roast more than another? Light? Dark? Medium? Breakfast Blend? I pretty much only drink dark roast. And I've got my grinder out, found one of my french presses, and also got some of the little keurig "my k-cup" things that you put your own coffee inside and I'm using it every day! So bring on the whole beans!! (I'm sad that Death Wise "Blue and Buried" and "Gingerdead" only come in ground, but I would absolutely take them that way.) Haus of Gloi's Yule is up, fancy anything? Any of these! Yule Body Powder: Long Winter's Nap Yule Butter Bomb: Marshmallow World, Boughs of Holly Yule Soy Candle: Turkish Delight, Three Treasures, Snow Wolf, Tannenbaum Yule Bubbling Scrub, Yule Refresher Spray, Yule Soy Tart, Yule Whipped Soap, or Yule Sugar Exfoliant:
Nefarious Gingerbread Man
Turkish Delight
Long Winter's Nap Teeturtle has some adorable designs and their t-shirts often go on sale. Any designs that appeal? I already have a bunch of teeturtle designs on my amazon universal wishlist (the clothing one) with sizes and everything. Anything from the Lunacy You are eyeballing? I was going to order but evidently I overspent on Wolfenoot, Krampus, and Yule cat -- oops! I absolutely NEED: * Portrait of an Unidentified Man Dressed as a Skeleton * Schrodinger's Checkmark
Krampusnacht Questions
are you interested in an advent calendar? What kind? (Dog cookie, tea, chocolate, etc.) Officially asking for your krampus preference, naughty children! I hand-make light-weight hair falls, the kind that is NOT meant to look real, but more like doll (or Dolly) hair. I use stuff like recycled silk, ribbon yarn and the like to keep them extremely light-weight and pretty. Is this something you would like? If so, tell me your color preferences (the more options, the better!) plus any allergies I should know about (wool, alpaca, silk etc), and length. Would you like a super ugly "Christmas" sweater with krampus all over it?? Is there anything you particularly have your fingers crossed for on your wishlist? are you hoping for more perfumes or more non-smelly goodies? dear Victim, are you in need of a squishable krampus? (or other squishable?) Anything from Penzy's to show you praise or to punish your wicked tongue? Do you like homemade fudge if it is Krampus'ed up? would you like a piece of Krampus themed art? Either watercolor, resin, polymer clay, or wire wrap? I'm probably going to place an order for October 33rd once I get paid next week. Are there any BPALs (recently released or otherwise) that you would love to get on St. Nicholas Day? Is there anything you'd be interested in from Loreworks? Please note, the body wash is marketed as body wash/bubble bath, but it DOES contain SLS for those who avoid it.) dear victim, are you interested in a microwaveable bowl cozy? Dearest Victim, might you bed a fan of the glorious old punk band, the Damned? I'm seeing them perform on Friday, so there might be things like tour t-shirts or stickers available- would any of this be of interest to you? (if not, no worries, I can worship them enough for the both of us! ) Dear *ahem* Victim *snicker* ... Would you enjoy a 2023 wall calendar? Victim, is there anything you would like from the Zeep holiday collection releasing on November 1st? (see this post) Are you interested in boozy homemade fruitcake? How about booze itself, specifically, moonshine whiskey infused with spices and fruits? Brown sugar shortbread? "Plain" buttery or flavored? Favorites include lavender and chocolate orange, but I could definitely do a holiday spice or peppermint batch or two.
I want to make altered altoid tins for Christmas. Would you like one? What kind of homemade cookies do you like? Are you interested in having any freshly dried apple crips? (Golden Delicious and Fuji -- sliced, dried apples with nothing added.) Is there anything you're eyeing from Paintbox Soapworks' winter update? Haus of Gloi just dropped their Yule update- like what you see? https://www.hausofgloi.com/collections/yule?page=1 I make infused vodkas! The one I am most proud of right now is a spiced hibiscus liqueur. I make this as a jelly, too. As far as the Liqueur, We have been making an autumn Moscow Mule with it, and the other day I made a Mai Tai! Its yummy! If I can find the recipe, I want to make my grandmas Orange Slice Cake. Its a super yummy cake but a bit difficult to make as far as cutting up all the oranges. If you would like a mini cake IF I make it, lemme know! The ingredients are as follows:
dates
orange slices candy
coconut
buttermilk
pecans
orange juice Victim, darling, are you a fan of the Dresden Dolls? I'm seeing them this Saturday and there will no doubt be some good merch including t-shirts, posters, stickers and even artisanal chocolate bars! 😮 Any of that sound appealing? (if t-shirt, pls give size!)
I uncovered a secret supply of vintage LE BPAL Trading Post soaps in my possession! I realize some folks are over bar soap, but in case you'll make an exception, lmk and maybe Krampus will deem you nice enough to get one
2022 13 Nights of Halloween Master Question List

Would you like either a basket or a tablemat (that works as a place to put hot dishes as well as being decorative). I make both from fabric wrapped rope that is sewn together. Are your booklists linked somewhere, and up to date?

I've been thinking of experimenting with autumn spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, clove) and maybe a chocolate chai. 31. Any interest in spooky shape wax melts in your favorite candle scents? (What are your favorite candle scents?) 32. How about lotion bars? 33. Bird and Blend Tea Co. just came out with their Autumnal tea drop! Anything look good to you? I just placed my order, so I can add-on a treat or two for you until Monday night, September 12th! https://nocturnealchemy.com/collections/limited-collection 39. Quick question - If I were ordering some marmalade or other jammy things, would you be interested in any of the following? Orange Marmalade, Blood Orange Marmalade, or whole fruit jams in strawberry, peach, current, or triple berry? 40. For decor what general Halloween style is preferred? Traditional, cute spooky, dark and gothic, horror, etc? More descriptive the better!! 41. (please read in thread as it's rather long) Are you interested in anything from Solstice Scents? https://www.solsticescents.com 42. 2022 13 Nights of Halloween answers
29. Do you have fur kids and would they like treats as well?? My spoiled dogs always love treats. Prefer USA made / grain free. If you're in the Seattle area, I am almost out of my Mud Bay bulk cookies (grain free, all kinds!) and would love more. Or a GC to Mud Bay. 30. Do you have any interest in trying my infused moonshine whiskey? I've been thinking of experimenting with autumn spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, clove) and maybe a chocolate chai. Of course!! Nom! 31. 32. How about lotion bars? I like the concept but I never use them and they end up going bad. 33. Bird and Blend Tea Co. just came out with their Autumnal tea drop! Anything look good to you? (Also, if you're not a pumpkin-y person I invite you to explore their other offerings, cause everything they do is magical) Check 'em out: https://www.birdandblendtea.us I already have ALL the Bird & Blend on my amazon beverages wishlist. Love love love! (For the autumn season, maybe the sticky pumpkin chai, campfires & vampires?) 34. Do you need any BPAL storage? Bottles? Imps? Nope. I have extra now because of all of my destashing. 35. Does anything catch your eye from my local tea purveyors? https://www.fridaytea.com/ (I hope they make more Womb of Doom soon!) or https://perennialtearoom.com/ I think I have everything I want from Friday Tea. I'd take things from Perennial Tearoom! Smoky Russian Caravan, Almond Sugar Cookie, Vanilla Cream, Hot Cinnamon Spice (although really, could it be better than Harney & Son's?? I would have to pit them against each other), Ginger Peach, Northwest Blackberry, Seattle Chai, Lapsang Souchong, maybe the Turkish Blend? 36. Can you use a mug? What kind/size do you like? I prefer mugs with a lid (to keep out dog hair and small flying things) or soup bowl sized ones (for soup.) I have some on my amazon wishlists. I also collect the Starbucks City Mugs (demitasse size or full size.) If a mug isn't at least 18 oz, I'm not really interested, lol. (but the demitasse size take up less room and are easier to display.) 37. One of my favorite Etsy chandlers is having a sale, anything catch your feathery fancy? https://www.etsy.com/shop/TeresaLynnsSimpleLux I still love super highly scented candles that absolutely REEK and waft fragrance while they're burning and also wax melts. I have a couple of electric wax burners. * Clove Cigarettes * Dragon's Blood * Saffron Perique * Sisters of the Moon * Headache --- I just don't have the energy to go through each of their candle scents individually and they didn't think to put them all in the photos or anything. 38. Does anything appeal from the Nocturne Alchemy Halloween Update? I just placed my order, so I can add-on a treat or two for you until Monday night, September 12th! https://nocturnealchemy.com/collections/limited-collection I am ordering Googly Bat, Vintage Werewolf, and the Sommeil but I added others to my Wishlist / SW Help. I would love Neon Wolf,and/or Neon Vampiress and lots of decants! 39. Quick question - If I were ordering some marmalade or other jammy things, would you be interested in any of the following? Orange Marmalade, Blood Orange Marmalade, or whole fruit jams in strawberry, peach, current, or triple berry? I have peach and strawberry so maybe triple berry, currant, or blood orange marmalade? 40. For decor what general Halloween style is preferred? Traditional, cute spooky, dark and gothic, horror, etc? More descriptive the better!! I don't actually decorate for Halloween, I just have kind of the same decor all year round that includes skeletal creatures, skeletal/NMBC themed kitchen set (when I don't live with other people anyway like right now I am living with family), bats everywhere, black and white Brian Serway artwork on the walls, Gideon/Harrow/Nona large prints (that need frames, lol!), Black/Grey/White marble (and wood painted to look like marble in those colors), granite grey desk, gargoyles/grotesques, cthulhu (I have the cutest little purple Cthulhu amigurumi from a Switch Witch!) I also have things like Krampus, Labyrinth, NMBC, etc. Funko Pops, would love Demogorgon things, Black Philip, etc. Also Unicorns and Equines (Friesians!) but spooky dark versions, so Kelpies and things too. Like Abigail Larson / Iren Horrors artwork vibe with rich darker jewel tones (I have a Iren Horror's Hecate print as a phone case (from society6.) or Brian Serway's bats/equines/crows vibe.) (Of the ones he has available right now, I have Dusk Mother, Nightbringer, No Nightmares, The Fox & the Crow.) https://www.etsy.com/shop/BrianSerwayArt? or https://bserway.com so ... yeah. I like jewel toned blues and purples (cool leaning) or rich cool leaning blackened reds or burgundys/wines as well for color pops. Zero warm leaning colors like beige, orange, yellow, brown, etc. (shudder) I don't even really love orange pumpkins although I tolerate them for outside fall decor. No inside though!!! So kind of a goth/dark/but also some cute? I love coffin shaped frames and shelves/trays, bat shaped bowls/tray/shelves/key hooks (I'd LOVE an iron/metal bat with spread wings and little dips from his wings as hooks if that makes sense! I have an octopus one right now that I hang necklaces and other things on.) I have an altar for Hecate with a bone colored statue, iron cauldron, chalice, etc. I'd love to have more altar space someday, I kind of took over St. Expedite's spot in the main house (sorry Expedite!) Someday I hope to have a "map room" where I have large posters of maps from all of my favorite fantasies, like Middle Earth, Narnia, Four Corners of Civilization, Tamriel, Hyrule, Randland, etc. But not anytime soon unfortunately. It would probably also be the gaming room for tabletop and RPG. 41. (please read in thread as it's rather long) Are you interested in anything from Solstice Scents? https://www.solsticescents.com I would love to try a sample of the Estate Amber! I wouldn't say no to the Lavender Vanilla Glissade. 42. Do you have a strong preference for whether packages are numbered 1-13, thus curating your experience somewhat, or do you prefer the random draw method where you can follow your whims and open in whatever order you choose? Whatever is easier for my sender!
Shotgun Samhain Swap 2021 Q&A
Are you more interested in a spiritual service you haven't mentioned practicing yourself, or would you prefer to receive something you do practice? Do you have a preference for if it's provided in writing/placed in the package vs over a skype/phone call? I have major anxiety with talking to people in real time be it in person, skype, phone calls, chat, etc. So in writing/in package would be my preference.
For item no.5, what kind of thing would you most appreciate? (5) anything else you wish to send, maybe something fun, a movie, maybe a decoration, something homemade, handmade, something precious and old, ????) I will appreciate everything you curate especially for me! (maybe not a movie though since I don't currently have a blu-ray or dvd player in my room and that is where I do everything. I just stream things from netflix/hulu/hbo/disney + -- I "share" accounts with other people since I can't afford them myself.) My amazon lists are humongous so that should give lots of ideas for tarot cards, stickers, wall hanging stuffs, all kinds of fall and halloween things. (I have multiple lists, the book list is the default so click on the other ones and you'll get an idea of the things I like.) However, I TOTALLY NEED MORE CARNIVOROUS PLANTS. I planted some purple pitcher plant seeds -- two packets -- and zero germinated. I was soooo disappoint. Occasionally they have Cobra Lily seeds too but really I'd like an already living plant since germination seems iffy. Would love Sundew too. Yeah, I don't know how you would ship them. I always love palm stones / crystals / rocks. I love bath milk/salts from luvmilk (scent lists in my SW help and on Amazon.)
Anything in particular you're interested in from the UK? Heck yeah! Tea (Whittard / Bird & Blend plus lots of tea from your neighbors in France like Damman Freres and Mariage Freres), LUSH, wine gums, fancy chocolates (except now I'm "sensitive" to chocolate but I think I would risk it!!) Future Primitive Ghost Smoke anything (except bar soap and perfume - whipped soap would be AMAZING, I need like 50 of them, lol!) STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING. I could really use a pudding steamer and good pudding recipes for sticky toffee and christmas pudding. without wheat flour, haha. or corn syrup.
Any interest in apothecary style indies, e.g. essential oils, natural skincare, flower waters? I have sooo many essential oils and flower waters that I never use, it would be wasted on me. I'm doing The Ordinary skin care regimen right now so I don't want to add anything else.
What is it that you're most wanting out of this fall season? (e.g. that could require magical assistance) I don't know. Right now I'm trying to transform myself back into a useful person so I can work or go to school or both. Seeing a physical therapist and a dietician; pretty much just started so I have at least six months of this. Help with motivation, perseverance, clarity (massive brain fog). Help with self love is always necessary, as well as household harmony since five people are living here (all adults, three generations) and tempers got hot occasionally.
Books. Are you a big reader? If so, do you prefer ebooks, audio, or printed? Would you enjoy an art or photography book? Do you like poetry? I absolutely inhale fantasy (and some sci-fi) books. I only do ebooks, mostly .mobi (kindle) unless a book is on my wishlist in a different format. I'm not huge on poetry; an art or photography book isn't that exciting in kindle format. Space is a huge issue for me and I really don't have room for physical books right now, my room is so crowded that I have to squeeze through a narrow aisle to get to my desk or closet. (Staying with family after divorce forced me to move from Seattle but I'm too sick to work, so I'm working on getting healthy.) Is there anything typically sold at a Renn Faire that you'd be interested in? ALLL THE THINGS. I especially like the cups sold at the Michigan faire (Messier pottery?) with the bats, pit bulls, etc. I got a gnome one for my mom and it's her favorite. (purple or black finish.) I love hippocampus or other fantastical equine buttons. I love the celtic knot tapestries in purples, blues, or greens - with dragons, horse, corvids, dogs, ferrets... I have a great pirate-y jacket from local artisans in the PNW as well as a floppy felted wool hat that can be made into a tricorne or a musketeer or just left floppy. I have quite a few drinking horns with horses painted on them. I always find tons of things I want! The fresh birch beer is my favorite (like root beer, not alcoholic.) Candles. Any preferences? Taper/Pillar/Votive/Jar/Chime/etc.? Scented vs Unscented? I have plenty of chime candles (as well as tapers, votives, etc.) (I used to be a chandler and I also used to sell PartyLite and I have SO MANY CANDLES.) However my respiratory issues make it really hard to burn them so I have to be really careful about candles I purchase these days. Sihaya's seem to work for me and I'm super interested in Black Roses. Also love Ember and Mallow, London Fog, Secret Society, Samhain Dusk, I am Here I am Whole, Long Distance Hug, Sisterhood of the Moon, Orphic Lodge, She is Still a Mystery, or The Divine. Are there any types of makeup/nail polish that you would or would not like to receive? I always need a really good non-smudging black eyeliner - but my skin is super oily and "waterproof" doesn't work; I need oil proof! I keep reading reviews on Sephora but haven't found the perfect one yet. I use Stila the most as it has been the best so far (not liquid, one of the smudge proof "pencils" that turns instead of needing sharpening.) I love pretty nail polishes but again... for the past few years I haven't used any of the tons that I have.... I rarely wear eye shadow these days. I could use a really good foundation / powder / and setting spray but it's hard to pick the color for foundations over the internet! Is there anything you definitely DON'T want (either because you don't like it or already have it)? Nothing with SLS / parabens / phthalates. No bar soap or coffee mugs (unless they're like 16-20oz and have a lid - so much dog hair floating around and my carnivorous plants aren't doing their job at catching the bugs that are tiny and fit through the screens!) I am "sensitive" (still haven't figured out exactly how I'm sensitive but blood testing showed that I am? Maybe the brain fog/fatigue/body aches/pain / respiratory?) to wheat, yeast, corn, eggs, casein (milk/cheese), and chocolate. I haven't had a chance to go over it with my doctor yet to see if I can do sheep/goat milk/cheese. Are there any art/craft supplies you currently need? I always "need" more yarn (but no, I really really don't since I haven't felt like knitting the past two years and I have over 1k skeins. Except when I REALLY want to make something and none of my yarn is appropriate for the project. Plus most of the yarn I "need" is around $30 a skein. Please do not get me craft store yarn, I am a super picky yarn hoar.) I would love a small oil paint set with a lot of colors. (I have canvas / brushes.) I would love some paper clay to make runestones for stitch markers or for gifts. Also need a sculpting needle and some metallic paint (silver though, not gold.) And I need a good pair of jewelry pliers (with springs.) I added some tools to my Amazon "Jewelry" list because my craft supplies list is private and I don't want to make it public right now because I don't want to sort everything. Homemade treats...any likes and preferences?? I have a texture thing so I don't like nuts in my cookies or fudge or brownies or whatnot. No corn syrup or artificial sweeteners. Prefer organic ingredients / non GMO, so I'm ultra picky about flour / dairy / eggs / butter. I keep looking at all of the fun things on Gather Victoria's website and wanting ALL of those treats if you're looking for inspiration. They have some awesome fall / Samhain recipes. I wish I could afford to be a patreon and I'm waiting very impatiently for their cookbook. I totally love the seasonal tea wreath! And I want to do a cake for priestesses of the dead. And the crabapple galette (I have two crabapple trees.) Anyway, so, I love all kinds of things. Smitten Kitchen is other my other homemade treat recipe supplier but doing a russian honey cake is probably too hard to ship. I love chewy caramels, especially sea salt and chocolate covered. Butterscotch is another favorite flavor (but not the hard candies) for homemade things. I should make a pinterest board with all of my smitten kitchen recipes for treats I want to try, but I think I already have a pinterest board with snacky treat things if you want to go look at it. Link should be in my SW Help page (link to that in signature.) AND YES, I am also wanting to know what flavor/s of fudge you would love to get if I happen to be your Adept I totally love Holly's fudge - especially the creamy melt in your mouth penuche. Seriously, I want the recipe for this. Most penuche that we attempt to make is more like Scottish Tablet (crystallized and crunchy.) I have looked at 500 recipes and tried SO MANY and I can't reproduce Holly's. (I don't do corn syrup, so was trying to stick to sugar, cream, butter but yeah, I can't seem to do it.) Also love the apple pie fudge (who would have thought I'd like that) and the forest fruit fudge. And peanut butter chocolate fudge. No nuts in my fudge or penuche please. Also holly made me the most wonderful christmas pudding a couple of times. And I love sticky toffee pudding. What are your thoughts on sweet treats? If you like them, what are your favorites? And what is one that you consider extra special? I do love sweet treats. Penuche fudge (SUPER CREAMY LIKE HOLLY DOES - otherwise it's more like scottish tablet, which is fine, but not my favorite.) Milk chocolate covered sea foam. Butterscotch pudding. Chocolate mousse (especially from the Dilettante cafes in Seattle area.) Creme Brulee. Bailey's Chocolate Tiffin (with chocolate shortbread and dried cherries.) Chocolate shortbread in general. Really good Key Lime Pie. (yeah, like some of these things don't ship well but you asked.) Milk chocolate / caramel / pecans (turtles?) Chocolate covered sea salt caramels from Frans Chocolate (Seattle area.) Moonstruck Chocolate truffles. Vosges chocolate truffles. Tony's Chocolonely milk chocolate (also with hazelnuts or caramel or toffee or ...) Purdys chocolate! (They usually have halloween chocolates like sugar skulls or coffin assortments.) Licorice / Anise caramels. OMG some extra special ones would be from L. A. Burdick. They have seasonal black cats this year but I think they're out of the price range for this box unless they sell them separately in their stores. I'd love to try the mouse and/or penguin samples.
2021 12 Days of Christmas Q&A
do you prefer a wearable or amigarumi? If wearable, is there something you’d really like? If amigarumi anything you love? I definitely prefer amigurumi, afghans/blocks, mandalas, doilies, etc. if crocheted unless tunisian crochet. I don't have a need for anything knitted since I'm too hot 99.9999999% of the time and wear t-shirts/camis/capri pants/open toe sandals pretty much all year but there are quite a few knitted amigurumi on my "make for me" list on Ravelry. I'm 100% a yarn snob though and prefer merino or merino/silk. Silk and silk/linen are ok too. Tencel is good. I'm not a fan of MCN or cashmere in general because of the pilling; same goes for single stranded yarn in general. Plied is my friend. No variegated yarn on wearables. Pretty much any yarn is ok for amigurumi though. Teeturtle is having one of their megasales - any tshirts, or whatever, that strike your fancy? Size/fit? I'm a Women's 2x at Teeturtle and I LOVE their shirts but unless they've dramatically sped up, their shipping may be too slow for this swap? Unless you have it shipped direct. Ummm I Lovecrafting would be great. I'll look more tomorrow; I might have a bunch on my Amazon wearables wishlist (I use the universal wishlist button so they go directly to teeturtle.) What is the best book you've read recently? I'm not good at rating books or "recently".. (time is such an illusion for me!) Right now I'm reading "A Chorus of Dragons" by Jen Lyons and need to start book three (but I keep getting interrupted by library books becoming available.) Just finished "The Other Side of the Sky" by Amie Kaufman. Last night I started "Child of Light" by Terry Brooks. My favorite books off the top of my head are The Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss, The Locked Tomb (however many, no longer a trilogy) by Tamsyn Muir, and all of the Fitz & Fool books by Robin Hobb. And the Naomi Novik Scholomance books. Oh, and the Murderbot books. What are some examples of decorations you would enjoy? I have ornaments on my amazon holiday wishlist and on my etsy wishlists (especially the ones under Krampus.) NMBC ornaments FTW! (links to my wishlists are in my Signature under SW help.) Skeletal unicorns, bats, krampus, .... Is there any kind of accessory or product you'd want for your hair? I could use more stretchy cotton headbands. There is some hair color I'd love under my bath/beauty wishlist on Amazon. What is your jewelry style? I only wear silver colored and I'm allergic to most metals, so I don't actually wear much jewelry. I would like to get my ears pierced again someday, this time with a bit of a larger gauge. I can wear sterling silver and surgical steel. Are you interested in fandom themed items based on the movies/shows you're into? Nightmare before Christmas, yes yes yes. Are you interested in spicy sauces/jams etc? yes! I love pepper jelly and jalapeno level spicy things. Are you interested in Thai snacks? e.g. Thai brand crisps, wafer roll type things, savoury small crackers I buy the coconut rolls in bulk at costco so I'm good there. I'm picky about organic and stuff and I'm trying to cut back on cracker type things. I make light-weight yarn-and-silk-ribbon hair falls. Would you be interested in getting some? Maybe? black and purple forever! What are your favorite animals or mythical creatures? Bats, ferrets, corvids, pit bull type dogs, narwhals, dolphins, whales of all types, rats, my sweet piggies/goats/sheep. oh, duh, horses. Especially Friesians. Hippocampus, fantasy equines of all kinds (kelpies, unicorns, pegasus, any type of mythical water horse or mythical creature with horse form.) Gargoyles/grotesques of all sorts. I actively support Defenders of Wildlife and am curious if any of these would be of interest?
I love everyone! All the ones I looked at were $$$$$ though. I'm candying citrus peel this year. Oranges, mostly. Is that something you would like? Chocolate dipped? What about homemade caramel sauce?
OMG YES. YES. And more YES. to everything. Do you like adult coloring books at all and if so do any of the ones from this store strike your fancy?
Not a coloring person, sorry. how do you feel about solid perfumes? Not a fan. Honestly most perfume right now isn't working for me because of my respiratory issues and my skin breaking out with contact. Is there anything in particular you'd want from the UK? Bird & Blend tea! Whittards tea! Chocolate! LUSH! Future Primitive! Anything else I need to try! (Jaffa cakes?) Pudding steamer! Sticky toffee pudding recipes! Christmas crackers (do yours have better gifts inside than ours? ours suck most of the time.) good wine gums! alllll the things! Are you ok with paper books at all? It depends on the book. I'm ok with coffee table books, cook books, knitting pattern books, etc. (I can take a photo or scan the pages I want to use and then use them digitally in the event of cook/pattern books) but I have a really hard time reading paperback novels because of my eyes. I don't have any reading glasses and I'm constantly fighting with my prescriptions at the doctor because I feel blind all the time. Either they give me a too strong prescription so I can't see *anything* close up at all or too weak and I can't see the TV or road signs. Do you already have expansion packs for your fave card games? I pretty much only have two card games - Exploding Kittens NSFW version (no expansions) and Unstable Unicorns - the control box and the chaos box both from the kickstarter (no other expansions, no main game.) My son has Cards against Humanity and Joking Hazard but I don't know which expansions he has or needs. I'd love CAH because I do have "special" cards for it (I joined their "Holiday Bullshit" every year they had they ran it!) Are you interested in perfume samples/decants, or only full sizes? I'm really not a fan of decants or samples, they usually go to live in a box and are never seen again. Unless it's something I *REALLY* want to try or really love and can't get. Yep, there's that duality. But any imps that are from the lab and aren't special ones, I've probably already tried (except for the new RPG's.) I don't mind receiving them; I'll just give them away with sales / swaps though. Are you interested in oracle decks? I like oracle decks! I just received one from a kickstarter; The Knitters Oracle (Alex Tinsley.) How about wax melts? I love all scented things (even if my lungs don't) and I do have multiple wax burners. how do you feel about fruit infused sugar/syrup? I have epic amounts of both, due to my candying this year. I have lemon, citron, orange and cherry. YES PLEASE. Either sugar or syrup or both. All the flavors sound good. how do you feel about candied quince? Sure!
My answers to Gnome Swap Q&A
A condo in pike place market with a roof top dog garden! Most of the stuff I'd like besides coffee would be perishable like Pagliacci pizza, piroshki, stuff from the British store. Plus I'll be there for a week next month! I would love some Cafe Vivace dark or espresso roast beans, I probably won't have time to go there.
I'll be back in Disney World next month- anything you might like from Epcot or Hollywood Studios?
everything nightmare before Christmas of course!!
Would you be interested in a small copper nature totem that could nestle in your garden or amongst your plants? I can do some chasing to create a mushroom or a leaf or a special bug fren... A mushroom or leaf would be fun! Would you be interested in a decorative pillow or zippered pouch featuring a gnomely figure? like this? or a little coin purse? or please tell me to make this because oh my gods... Gno indoor gnitted or gcrocheted gnomes please. Unless it's like a small suncatcher or something? I have an angora rabbit and she's currently molting. Would you like rabbit fur for spinning, felting, or other crafty uses? No thank you! Do you need any spices? Need? No. Do I have a bunch on my amazon kitchen wishlist? Yes. How would you feel about gnome-inspired clothing? My mom loves gnome sweatshirts! Maybe a large size. would you be interested in any horror movie merch? If so, do you have a favorite horror movie / character? No thank you! Haus of Gloi launched their Valentine goodies today. Anything appeal? https://www.hausofgloi.com/collections/valentines-1 I bought a bunch of sale things recently so I got a little packet of valentine's scents but I haven't sniffed them yet. By Candlelight and Cozy Rose both sound amazing and I would absolutely love those in Bubbling Scrub, Sugar Exfoliant, Room Refresher Spray, or a candle. Butterbombs in white musk and vanilla. Nocturne Alchemy just released their Valentine collection. Is there anything that strikes your fancy? I do love my NAVA. Cotton Candy Nag Champa Musk from the resurgence would be amazing. Crystalline #1 in a purple bottle would also be amazing. Crystalline #2 and #4 both sound great. Encens Ambre, Encens Vanille, both Eclipse blends, Poseidon's Vanilla Cheesecake, LOVE YOU. Any Paintbox Soapworks items you want? https://paintboxsoapworks.com/new-limited-edition/new/ Moonshadow bath streusel! I have a ton of sorbetto right now so I'm not in need really. UPDATE 2/16/23 -- I used some Moonshadow sorbetto recently while in Seattle and ... although all of the notes are MY NOTES, I actually don't love it that much. I hope this doesn't cause any issues. Are you interested in some of my homemade brown sugar shortbread? I would love lavender, rose, chocolate. Would absolutely try the blossoms. Regular flour/sugar is fine with me. Chocolate rose could be fun too. Do you have a seed and/or plant wishlist? Seeds may come from my personal stash, or not. I do, it's on Amazon! https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3A6UICRDCV5DP?ref_=wl_share So if I were to send you a plant, would you prefer an air plant or a succulent?? I will probably kill both of them. I kill air plants like woah. Succulents last a little longer. Any candles you might like? Be sure to check her clearance for leftovers from Halloween! https://www.etsy.com/shop/TeresaLynnsSimpleLux I don't burn candles very often but anything with my scent notes is fine. My mom burns candles a lot and I would probably give to her (she likes almost everything except patchouli.) Lupercalia went live. Anything catch your attention? Lupercalia 2023 – Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab Yesssss I still haven't been able to get yules though. What is your favorite animal? Real or Mythical? I love all equine type animals (Friesians, Warlanders, Hippocampus, Kelpie), Pibbles, Bats, Rats, Ferrets, Leafy Sea Dragons. I love my piggies in RL and would love a pig gargoyle from Windstone (M. Peña) but unfortunately it is discontinued. Gargoyles/grotesques are my next obsession of mythical animals. Is there anything you would love from San Diego? FISH SOFT TACOS. Those probably wouldn't ship well though ... so I dunno. Starbucks "You are Here" mug? Either the big one or a tiny one. Or if they have Starbucks cards (Gift card type) that say San Diego, that would be awesome. I collect both the mugs and the cards. if you like ebooks, does that mean kindle? Google books? Another format I should be aware of? And so I don’t provide something you already have, what are some authors you would like to try? I prefer kindle books but if you just want to send me an epub file in email, that is cool too. Kindle is switching from .mobi to .epub so I'm going to have to convert my mobi files from years and years of digital ARC books for reviews if I want to read them again, weep. Luckily I started downloading both mobi and epub formats around three or four years ago. I *could* do google or ibooks but I really prefer to keep all of my books in one location, the same reason that I prefer to buy or add patterns to my library on ravelry. All in one spot. Ummm I read A LOT so there really aren't a lot of new authors that I'm super interested in? I have lots of books on my amazon book wishlist if you need inspiration. Feel free to send me an anonymous email asking if I've read something, or check my goodreads to see if I've read it. into astrology or not into astrology? Not SUPER into it. I just laugh at memes mostly? (Virgo.) There's an incredible herbal apothecary near me and a way I celebrate spring as a time of renewal is to sometimes henna my hands or feet with symbols that are personal to me, as a way of setting new intentions. Since you pretty much don't get more "earthy" than henna, would you be interested in receiving some high-quality of your very own to do similar sacred body work with (or...whatever you might wanna do with it)? Sure, I love henna! Hair, Skin, bring it. (For hair I prefer a black/blue henna.) I know we've already had the paintbox question, but Spring things recently went live. Any interest in spring Paintbox? https://paintboxsoapworks.com/new-limited-edition/2023-spring-collection/ Wisteria Biscuit I think is the only one of interest and not that much because I'm not a SUPER fan of coconut. Sometimes I like it a lot, sometimes I don't. Not a fan of dirt AT ALL and not a huge fan of fruit or floral, so pretty much everything in this collection is that except Wisteria Biscuit.
