kitcopic.jpeg How Snegurochka might look at two months

I just found out that the pregnant cat across from my office gave birth this morning. My little Snegurochka was one of the four.

Now I am not really sure what to do. When is the right time to take a kitten away from its mother? Four weeks? Eight weeks? Can I make her food myself or should I buy the hella expensive cat food they import?

So many questions. I have never had a brand new cat before!

Congrats! Eight weeks is about right to take a kitten away from Mum. I suppose you could feed your cat raw meat or something but I would be worried about parasites and cooked meat isn't as nutritious. I knew a woman who only fed her cat raw turkey and raw rabbit and he grew to be enormous and fit. I know there is a thread on the main board about tips on what to feed your pet (especially after the contaminated pet food of earlier this year) so I know that will have lots of advice.

Thanks for the advice. The owner of Kitty Mama said she will give me Snega when the time is right (I am assuming about six weeks?).

The Ethiopians eat raw meat (kitfo) so it's probably alright for the cat too!
