If you could make a scent that represents where you live (or have lived), what would be the ingredients? the one that immediately came to mind was mountain midwinter, bitterly cold ice and woodsmoke with the barest whisper of pine. i have so many enviromental/nostalgia smells though

Do you collect stones/rocks? I'm talking like "semi" precious stones, ie moonstone, bloodstone, quartz ect. Are there any that you're looking for at the moment? Are you in need of a stone but don't know which kind? love stones, rocks, polished or rough, I don't know enough about the uses to say I'd need a particular one, but I'd enjoy learning about if my witch is well versed.

What's your favorite Halloween Music? dark and/or orchestral rock (Apocalyptica, etc.), classical music of the same vein, and I do like the oldie spooky tunes, and the 80's stuff like 'dead man's party,' etc.

What kind of shoes do you need/want? What size shoes do you wear? Would you mind gently used shoes? in theory, used shoes would be great, but in practice, i have the devil's own time finding anything that fits. links to sites with cool not horrifically expensive boots would be awesome though.

If you have played before, what are some of the most memorable things you've gotten? What really made you go WOW? If you haven't played, same thing, but not limited to SW.new SWer, and the things that have meant the most to me are quirky things that have just shown the gifter really paid attention to who I am. (after we'd both read and loved Jitterbug Perfume, one of my dear friends sent me a beet for Valentine's day--that was probably my *most* memorable gift)

Is there any exercise program that you're interesting in learning? Meditation, Yoga, Pilates, Belly Dancing, Zumba ect? Or if you do any of these (or anything else sport related) are there any things you need/want? Candles, music, mats, water bottles etc? bellydance music, or any danceable music, latin, whatever, always welcome!

For those who are yarnies, would you like other-than-yarn witchery? Hooks, needles? Preference of material? Do you use/would you like handmade stitch markers, etc.? I love solid bamboo hooks (only have a size M at the moment), I don't have any stitch markers, usually just use a piece of yarn looped through. I love yarnie supplies as much as art supplies, oh, yeah, other question...

I wondered if my witch or any witch would enjoy things like nice pens to draw with or anything similar? LOVE. pens, sketchbooks, any arty/writy stuff

Is there anything you want from the Violette Market update? again no clue, same for pretty much any other companies...if it sounds like something i'd like from my notes, I'd be happy to try, but I wouldn't know of anything specific.

 

X-rated/child-safe things: i don't think i would want a wang trophy mounted on my wall, but no kids, no easily offended anything here.

 

Web comics: girl genius, xkcd, looking for group, 8 bit theater i think it's called? the one with all the old final fantasy characters. i don't read anything regularly because i forget, but those are the ones i enjoy when i remember to look

 

Upcycled things: bring it!

 

Hair stuff: it's growning out! i like barettes and hair ornaments. I want to try making some of those silk flower bobby pins and such. i don't like anything attached to ponytail holders because i squash them, would rather have something to stick on after. I used to love hairsticks when I had hair, and I'm very curious about the hairscrew things. Headbands don't work so well, but I've been known to use a bandana. My hair's shoulder length, layered with bangs, and there's a lot of it, so it's pretty ornery.

What is your favourite habitat and climate to live in? How about to visit? (ie. forest, canyons, mountains, by the beach; temperate, tropical...) Trees, elevations, water, that about sums it up. I'm fascinated by pictures of Ireland and Scotland, that's probably my dream vacation. I'd love to live along the northwest coast, I visited there once and loved it. The Olympic peninsula in Washington was amazingly beautiful. Then again, so is Maine. But the theme is still forests and water.

How do people feel about edible arrangements? I love the concept of it, and we got a basket that my brother sent one time that was really good. I'm also a horrible sucker for things like the Harry and David mailorder catalogs, just to look through all this pretty stuff and food, lol.

 

Anyone need address/phone type books? I do, actually. Ideally one that would be forum-friendly--so I could do things like forum name, real name/addy, maybe a space for phone or website or something. I mistrust computer address books for some reason, maybe because I've had hard drives implode. I might end up doing something like a mini binder with looseleaf paper so I can add pages where I need them, always thought that was a great way to do address books.

 

Do you read/like fantasy? What kind of books or authors do you love? Which one would you like to read? Would you like gifts related to it? I do like fantasy, including some modern/urban, and young adult fantasy, sparkly vampires aside, can rock. I'll also read the occasional screwball comedy type thing (Janet Evanovich, some of Katie MacAlistair's stuff), and if someone hands me something and says 'You *have* to read this...well, ok! =) Gifts related to reading that aren't books? That would be...? Hell, sure, why not. I'm probably driving my witch nuts being too open ended.

Soaps : do you like them? What brands? What scents? I do love soaps, most of what I've been getting for myself recently are from Chagrin Valley, which I adore, except that they have very little scent to them at all (favorites anyway are citrus woods green tea, the coffee shampoo bar, citrusy clean smelling things), I've gotten sample pieces in swaps from Haus of Gloi (aduwa and absinthe were both lovely, and everything listed on her website for scents sounds fabulous, as do her halloween scents..<sits on hands before placing an order>), Arcana, and probably one or two others, and that's always fun. From Paintbox I mostly get the sorbettos and the occasional slip (glycerin soap dries my skin out, oddly), and favorite scents so far have been Olive Tree, Gold Frank and Myrhh, Big in Japan (and if you mix the sorbetto with GFM you get what I call The Ghost of Empress Past which is fabulous ), Indian Summer and Gingermilk both sound lovely. Oh, and I keep playing around with ideas for a smack on Villainess and never order, lol. (a few of her scents sound really interesting too).

 

Generally for soaps my skin gets along with any of the smallish type places (i didn't think I could USE soap until I ended up on bpal and found all the discussions), nig manufactured stuff like store brands and bath and bodyworks break me out something fierce, i think it's their perfumes in the latter's case. plus i like wearing my bpals, so anything that smells that strong post bath isn't so great. a faint aura to layer with, great, but i want to use all my perfume

Are there any particular movies, tv shows or cd’s that you’ve been meaning to buy for years but just never got round to getting? Would you mind a gently used dvd/cd if your witch had it or could get it?? Used is perfectly fine! I'm down with anything that works. As fas as things I haven't gotten around to, Fantasia on dvd (original and/or 2k) I love both and my <cringe> vhs tapes are coming to the end of days.

Is there anything from the Possets' Hallowe'en update you're lusting after? I am completely ignorant of possets.

Would you like a custom/altered toy either from a seller or from your witch (like My Little Pony, or a Barbie or any particular toy that can be changed?) i used to collect my little ponies about 20 years ago, so that might be pretty funny, otherwise can't think of anything i'd really like.

Do you like the candy apple, candy corn or pumpkin spice kisses?can't say those appeal to me, i'll stick with real caramel apples.

Anne Taintor, anyone?oooooh, that's who does that stuff! lol. i think it's hilarious, but honestly most of my notepads and such are the backs of no-longer-useful printed paper.

If I were to knit a scarf, would you prefer a skinny one, or a wide one? A short one, that when wrapped once around your neck will just tuck under your jacket, or a long one, at least to your waist? I have and love all of the above

What kind of a cook/baker are you?

Are you happiest calling for delivery or microwaving a lean cuisine, Or will Food Network be asking you to host their new program? I don't do prepackaged much, I love to cook. I enjoy baking and things that require precision, but I also adore making things up as I go. I'm a huge fan of improv pasta, homemade ravioli with my own fillings, etc. If it sounds like it'll go well, I'll try it and see what happens.

If I send you something home made would you like the reciepe for it? definitely! or something crocheted if it has a pattern, etc...love that kind of thing

If you are someone who doesn't want baked goods sent, would you like a collection of some of my favorite recipes? i'll take either, i have no problem with baked goods or anything homemade

How about home made mixes or kits? Kind of like the cookie in a jar thing, where you would need to add the perishable ingredients?also cool

seriously, i have a little bit of *everything* I'm not as fond of white tea as some others, but I still enjoy some (i think it was Numi that I got a white osmanthus sample from, and that was lovely), I adore black tea, flavored black, green, flavored green, i love genmaicha (my mom totally doesn't understand this), chai, tisanes...I think my only nono's are things like fennel and anise. Nothing should taste like licorice except licorice.

How do you feek about silly, funny knick-knack, dollar store stuff, stickers, magnets etc? Would you like receiving that kind of stuff or rather not? little consumable things (stickers, etc) are fine, but i'm running out of space for just knicknack stuff (still have space for handmade and other interesting bits of course)

Is there a specific book you've been wanting to get but haven't found the time or the opportunity to? gonna ponder again

Do you read mangas/watch animes? Which ones? Do you have a particular favourite? Would you like to receive managas or anything related to them? the only anime i can say i really loved is record of lodoss war

Are you open to receiving things that are not on your wishlist, maybe something your Witch thinks you might like? bring it! i love to be surprised, and if someone has a kind of idea of things i like and things i might, i'd be thrilled. besides, my wishlist concepts are sketchy at best.

If you have something on a wishlist that we could craft INSTEAD of buying, though it might not end up identical to the wishlist thing, would it be okay to craft it instead? Obviously we don't want to copy anyone else's design, but if we can replicate the flavour or intent that you like without stepping on toes? absolutely!

OK, I know that lots of folks love socks. Do you have a preference of length? Materials? Patterns? I am seriously the anti-sock, they're a necessity, not a squee factor, as such, boot socks tend to be useful. if i have to wear them, i like soft and warm and with a good amount of give around the calf--i have pretty large calves and get sockconstricted a lot.

How do people feel about word magnets <whistles innocently> I have...4? 5? magnetic poetry kits...i think i'm stocked. (original, sequel, artist, garden, naughty, and spanish, if anyone was curious) ok, that's actually 6...

If you could have any costume, or if you aren't into costumes, necklace or other accessory, from any movie character, what would it be? erm...i loved eowyn's wardrobe in lotr, though to pinpoint a specific piece? not so much. and i love dr. brennan's jewelry in bones, even though i could never pull something like her big necklaces off.

How do you feel about samples/decants of things other than BPAL? Soap slices, lotion/scrub/shower gel decants, single use make-up/beauty products, etc. i love samples. i might find something i adore, if not, i can find a use for it.

What are you guys going to be aiming for in the Inquisition? Or do you just plan on ordering individual items? I am a non-combatant in the inquisition honestly.

What is a bpal scent that you've been dying to try for awhile but just can't find? (A scent where even a tester would do) drawing a blank at the moment. I do really want to try November just on principle.

What would your last meal be if it could be anything in the world (sky is the limit, drinks too, the whole shebang) hmm...chili con queso from El Cerro Grande, some really good buffalo wings, crab rangoon, my family's style fried chicken and fried okra, perfect fresh tomatoes, homemade ice cream or chocolate mayonnaise, microbrewed rootbeer and some really excellent tea for drinks (gluttonous answer, and now I'm hungry )

No spawnlings, so that question doesn't apply to me, and I answered a question about petspoiling already I think. =)

Is there anything you would like that can be delivered over the internet? Things like fanfic recs, cat macros, mp3s you are looking for, how-to or amusing videos, things like that. I love information! I love jokes, particularly good webcomics of the day (like if xkcd or some other comic had something my witchee found particularly amusing/clever, funny youtube videos, great song youtube videos...mp3s are great, I'm not sure there's too much I'm looking for specifically, I love world music, especially right now anything arabic/bellydanceable, and I love classical/ethnic music with a techno'd beat behind it type stuff. One song I wasn't able to find on amazon was 'Moi et Toi' from...Justin Adams I think?

If you would enjoy something of a knitted persuasion, do you have a preference on type of thing? Since making a scarf for someone who has 10 might be a smidge excessive? Also, how do people feel about shawls? I love shawls, probably why I keep making them. <grin> and I am one of the 'never have too many scarves' crowd, or any handmade thing. i just make sure i rotate through my hoard.

Music, DO you prefer Live or Studio? Edited or explicit?generally studio, though i do have a few live things i enjoy, as long as the sound quality is good and the voices still sound good unsynthed. definitely explicit over edited

If you are an animal lover, is there a specific type/breed that you love most?I adore animals in general, I have a dogbeast, I love birds of prey, large fuzzy predators (wolf, coyote, big cats, foxes...), frogs.

Also flowers and plants- If you like flowers/plants, do you have a favorite(s)? This is the kind of think I would answer with 'yes.' I love flowers and plants in general. sunflowers and zinnias are always part of my garden because they're happy flowers. i am a rescuer of abandoned poinsettias (i have...4? 5? now), and I have a soft spot for living christmas trees, though this is the absolute last year i try one--i always kill them, except for my norfolk pine. I had one of those till i moved west, it froze in the car. <pout> my mom felt so bad she bought me a little bitty 10-inch tall one here....he's approaching 3 feet now. i love my plants.

Is there a TV, movie or literary character that you are a lot alike, or would like to be alike? have to ponder this too

Chocolate or other types of candy?yes! prefer dark chocolate most of the time, though white and milk have their uses. i *adore* caramel (especially salted caramel), fruit candies, butter rum lifesavers when i can find them...tell I have a sweet tooth?

For tea drinkers, do you prefer loose leaf or tea bags? yes. teabags are great for work and for lazy, I love making loose leaf tea though. I have one of the pinchy infuser balls. and actually i do have a teapot with a strainer basket.

Do you crave many Ecards and contact or are you okay with little contact from your Witch? I'm ok either way, though I will confess I was tickled pink to receive my first witch ecard.

Do you have a place where you list all the BPAL you have or have tried? I will soon?

Microsoft or Apple? dude, i have no iTunes, iPod, iPhone...I think my distaste for Apple stems from college. F'ing mac lab... I would like to go Linux eventually, but right now, Windows ftw.

Where was your last vacation? What did you like most?Last leaving-the-immediate-area vacation was last summer, the beloved and I attempted camping on the other side of the Rockies. We saw some amazing scenery and critters, and I really love the mountains. I also love Estes Park, at the base of my side of the Rockies. It's just a neat little (ok, kinda touristy but with some very nice stores, too) shopping district surrounded by a small town, with herds of elk in the safeway parking lot come rutting season. (we did see that one year)

Would you appreciate receiving handwritten letters and/or postcards (anonymous or not)? How about sending them? yes to both! I love handwritten notes, I love sending them, and if I get another penpal or two out of this, even better. =)

Do you hate any food things with a passion?? erm, let's see...i don't mind licorice itself in limited quantities, but i despise anise, fennel, caraway, etc., in anything except licorice. nothing that isn't a piece or licorice should be licorice flavored. end of story. also, i can't do raw onion. at all. though i really doubt that would factor into this swap.

Would you be opposed to receiving a digital version (via email) of a magazine you like but don't subscribe to...you know, in the interest of saving a tree? I do much better with little links to specific things, like 'hey, go look at this cool article!' I can't even make it through 'This week in Ravelry' on a regular basis. So even a digital magazine would probably be wasted on me. :/

I have pens out the wazoo, including calligraphy supplies, I'm fascinated by them. I love stationery, mostly my favorite patterns tend to be nature based, casual artistic (brushwork edges or something), occasionally cute if it involves animals (I make greeting cards with House Mouse stamps)

With regards to your gifts, would you prefer your presents' awesomeness evenly spread out (several packages of pretty terrific things) over the round or a slow build-up of awesomeness (going up from pretty cool things to something super-duper cool at the end) to go out with a bang? Do you have a preference? I have no preference whatsoever, I'm just thrilled to be witched.

What kind of make-up do you wear? What colors? Is there anything you'd like to try but haven't yet? At this point I wear almost all stuff from theallnaturalface.com. i have a weird pale tawny complexion so i can't do anything in pink tones (pink eyeshadow makes me look sick), anything pink based powder/blush-wise makes me look entirely pink. i used to be almost totally earthtoned, and those colors flatter me really well, but i've been having fun branching out into some wackier, bright colors when i get samples and that's been fun. so i'll try most anything. one thing i'd like to find is a lipstain that works. i've given up on lipstick since it's so dry out here and i don't leave the house without a lipbalm

Who would be on your top 5 (IE famous people you’d date/have relations with ) I tend to have crushes on characters rather than actual famous people/actors and I don't do any kind of fan collecting. That being said, let's see how many I could throw in...Spencer Reid from Criminal Minds (I love social awkward, nerdy cute guys), David Tennant (adorable, and brilliant as The Doctor), erm...now I'm drawing a blank. daemon, patronus, etc. My patronus would probably be something like an English sheepdog. <grin> On the daemon test I remember I got a mouse on the one that was on the official site a long time ago (his name was Albus, as I recall), took the one on okcupid and got the Independent Soul.

Any countries you're interested in? the british isles (yeah, all of them), Northern Spain...I'm really interested about anywhere other than here, lol. I love mythology, culture, traditions, etc.

Would you enjoy homemade bath products (bath salts, fizzies, etc.) and/or linen sprays? Esp. if scented with some of your favorite BPAL scents? Linen sprays would be bad since my Kalibeast would be inclined to lick my bed, but anything else, sure!

If you witch made you something and it didn't come out just right, would you still want it? absolutely! Personality over perfection any day.

Are you a foodie? not in the food snob sense, but I love to cook, eat, talk food, trade recipes... in the perfume sense generally not. foodie scents don't like me, and sugar does horrible things on my skin.

Any sports fans in the house? What's your favorite sport/team/player? Love playing, not so much of the watching. I love pickup games just for fun, I used to bowl competitively, I am a dancing fool.

For holidays, do you decorate? Would you like decorative stuff, weenie or otherwise? If so, do you lean towards the elegant, the crafty/folksy, or the more, erm, campy?

Journals, Sketchbooks, etc.?I adore them. Everything from blank to decorative. Not so much cutesy or really girly, but I like designed stuff, especially kind of abstract floral or asian-inspired designs, or just something with a really interesting fabric or paper cover. (I make books, so I'm fascinated by them). My only real preference is if it's lined (I love unlined too), I prefer narrower lines.

Vampire shows, literature, etc? Yay or nay? Iffy. I like some things in that category, but it's more that vampires have to be involved rather than I go looking for those stories. I honestly have no interest in things like True Blood/Sookie Stackhouse, etc.

If you play console video games, what game systems do you have and what games would you love to have? i have (ok, laugh) a super nintendo, and a ps2, the only game i would really love to get ahold of is legend of dragoon for the normal playstation since i had a copy, never got to finish it, and now i have...disc 3 out of the 4. I have a computer that's gaming-able, mostly I play WoW and the occasional other rpg type game. And I want to pick up another original NES console since mine blew up--my mom and I still play some of those old games.

How do you all feel about flowers and plants? Flower and plant seeds? Drawings of flowers or plants? Pressed flowers? love all of the above. I do a lot of my garden from seeds, especially flowers and herbs.

How do you feel about marzipan? I am quite fond. My family used to make it (ah, German heritage food, and candies...). I'm weird though in that it's hard for me to eat all the pretty fruit and fancy shapes because they're too pretty to eat.

If you could have 3 BPAL bottles fall (gently) out of the sky right this second that you've been looking for or pining for - which 3 would they be? GeekGoth is the only thing coming to mind right now. Most of my favorites are GCs and/or I have a bottle already, so I guess I'm fortunate.

Are there any international treats that you love and have a hard time finding? there was something mentioned in the easterbunny candy thread from holland i think i just remember someone broke the name down as 'stroop sold da cheeses' that was some kind of caramelly toffee type thing that i'd have loved to try. oh, and i have a fondness (thanking girasol for enablement) for cadbury crunchie bars.

Is there anything from the 'Ween BPTP update that you would like but haven't ordered for yourself? I've really never gotten anything from the trading post.

If you are a crafter, would you like to receive supplies from your witch (beads, fabric, yarn/roving etc?) Sure! I crochet, so I love yarn and such, crochet hooks are lovely since I'm constantly misplacing mine (I was gifted a hook carved out of bamboo that I adore, but I can only find the fat wood handle with metal hook type here), I love decorative papers for cards, book arts, etc., art supplies of any kind are welcome, beads I love but I'm a novice beader so mostly they just sit around and look pretty.

If you are in school now, what classes are you taking? Does anything you are currently studying really interest you? (if you are not in school, is there anything you are trying to learn?) Currently taking bellydance classes and debating going back to finish an associates degree, most of the 'trying to learn stuff' involves crafts and computer programs. I generally love learning about new things, especially languages.

Do you have a special symbol or totem that is meaningful to you? I tend to identify with lunar shapes (non-face-bearing), and tree/leaf type things. The one piece of jewelry I always wear is a silver pine needle casting. I love that something so unique and beautiful came from something natural, plus my beloved and I made it together, so it's become kind of a talisman of our relationship as well. I play with it a lot when I'm thinking.

Favorite Halloween/Scary movies/books erm...I don't do horror movies really. I love Gremlins because it's such great campy comedy. Stuff like Disney's animate Headless Horseman I'm down with.

COMIC BOOKS. Do you read them? Are there any series you like, or some you would like to try? i love the webcomic girl genius, and a couple other webcomics (xkcd, looking for group, etc.) i used to like stuff like sandman and i had a couple story arcs of other random comics (fathom and aria that I recall) at one point, but it's been a very long time since I read any, my favorite comicky thing of all time was the graphic novel The Dream Hunters. I lost my copy when I moved.

Warm drinks? I drink gallons of spiced cider in the cool seasons, year-round I drink tea probably more than any other beverage, occasionally coffee, I used to love homemade hot chocolate but I can't really do milk anymore.

When you go to an etsy wishlist, it will tell you what things are sold. If you click on the sold item, sometimes it will give options that are similar to what was sold, but not identical, would you like the similar item or prefer not to get it at all unless it's the same item? How picky are you? not remotely picky. similar or even just in the same vein is generally awesome.

What is your favourite snack food, something you could grab any time? salty, probably popcorn, sweet...i tend to do things like leave a bag of baking chips (semisweet, white chocolate, butterscotch, whatever) on the counter so I can just grab a few if I want something. Generally speaking anything qualifies as a snack food since left to my own devices I would graze throughout the day rather than actually eat meals.

 

Ebooks: don't have a reader

 

Nail Polish: my nails are usually painted in self-defense (in other words, paint or break), I use a wide variety of colors, usually at least 2 at a time, and as such, my favorite nailpolishes are just the Sinful Colors from walgreens as they're dirt cheap and they work well.

 

Soft/plushy things: I have been known to collect such critters.

 

What hobby/craft would you like to learn how to do? honestly? any i don't do. i have needles and several references to learn knitting, just haven't gotten to it yet, I'd love to learn how to spin eventually, or how to do more than just make basic bead earrings.
