Easter Candy - do you like it? If so, what types?

I can take or leave it - I like chocolate, but not in huge quantities at once.

 

What scent(s) are you petrified of getting DC'd?

Hmm... The Lights of Men's Lives, Liz, Pele, and I'll be really sad if any more of the Mad Tea Party blends go - I was seriously bummed I never got to try March Hare. There are a bunch of GCs I've been meaning to try for ages and I'm worried they'll be DC'd before I get the chance.

Never tried VM scents - trying not to develop any more costly obsessions!

Love most reds, some whites (Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Gewurztraminer), but very few sweet wines appeal to me.

 

What three things are you craving right now?

Right now? Malaysian food, a hot bath and a blissful night's sleep. But If you're in the US, dear witch, and you happen upon any of the cherry cordial M&Ms I was recently enabled to, that would make a great substitute for any of the above! Why is stuff like that never available here? Though I'm meant to not be eating sugar. But those are so good, dammit!

Nice blank notecards or cute postcards are always good for me.

 

What is a scent that you've been trying to find even a sample of for a very long time to no avail? (What bottle would you die to get your hands on - even a partial?)

Hanerot Halalu! Oh dear god, Hanerot Halalu... a very sweet forumite gifted me an imp of this magical elixir, and a bottle would be ZOMGamazing. But I don't hold out much hope, for who would give such a thing up?

 

Is there anything in your life that you'd like advice or a "selfhelp" book for?: (ie finances, eating healthier, meal planning)

Not so much... I think in most things in life, I know how to help myself... I just sometimes choose not to

 

If your Witch lived near you, would you be happy or creeped out to get a "coupon" for a service like cleaning help or babysitting or dogwalking or coffee out with your Witch or something like that? Would you be creeped out if a local minion personally delivered a package to your house from a far-away Witch?

Since my witch already clued me into her general location, I'm assuming this would be a moot point

Some poetry. I like Edgar Allen Poe and an Australian poet called Les Murray.

 

What types of scents do you like to scent your home? Which do you totally avoid?

I love BPTP The Queen's Croquet Ground atmo spray - I spray it on my bed linen and feel like I'm sleeping in a sunny rose garden. I also have a Crabtree and Evelyn fragrance oil from Christmas a couple of years ago that I use with a lightbulb ring - it smells exactly like Gingerbread cookies baking and it's awesome in winter!

 

What are your thoughts on comics? Any you like? Any you have been wanting to try? Favorite characters?

I'm not anti-comics, but I admit I've never really seen the appeal of them. Maybe I just haven't found the right one.

 

How do you feel about nail polish? What colors do you like? Sparkles?

I'm in favour! I prefer creamy colours and unusual tones like Prussian blue or charcoal grey.

 

Household/kitchen goods/gadgets?

I always love a kitchen gadget!

 

Ok geek check - what sort of geeky things do you do? Do you read comics/graphic novels? Are you obsessed with something (a TV show maybe?) Do you work in a geeky field? Do you play rpgs like Dungeons and Dragons? Would you like gifts related to any of these?

DH and I are pretty obsessive about the TV shows we love (Firefly, Big Bang Theory, True Blood, Scrubs, The IT Crowd, I could go on!). I'm more craft-geek than sci-fi or fantasy geek though.

 

Do you have a favorite fabric? If someone were to make you a fabric item, would you prefer it be out of any fabric? e.g. velvet, satin, silk, cotton, bamboo??? Would this change if it were an article of clothing vs. a bag/pillow/blanket/somethingelse

I actually really like natural feeling fabrics like unbleached cottons, linens and hemp. More for decorating and crafting than clothing I guess. I also love pure wool felts.

 

Anything with the Worm Moon update that you're already lusting after?

I haven't looked at it very carefully, but nothing jumped right out at me.

Definitely. Blues or jewel tones are good.

 

Would you like anything from Starring Fragrances. They make awesome hair stuff, natural deoderant, and home fragrance (and a ton of other stuff, those are just my favs)?

I’ve been trying to find a good organic shampoo that doesn’t make my hair limp and greasy, so if they do anything like that it would be awesome. Home fragrances are great too – I prefer lighter scents for this.

 

For those who like lipgloss, lipstick, tinted balms, etc, what colors do you wear (and warm? cool?) and do you prefer something sheer or more opaque? How do you feel about shimmer?

Pinks and pale reds tend to work best with my complexion. I prefer sheer colours and nude opaques.

 

Are there any fancy/gourmet/special herbs or spices that you'd love to receive? ie: good quality vanilla or other extracts, vanilla beans, saffron, lavender, etc.

While this would be really awesome, Australian Quarantine requirements are a bitch when it comes to that kind of thing. I’d hate for my witchee to send me costly spices and then for them to be confiscated.

 

What's your favorite animal? Or is there one that's particularly significant to you? Dogs / wolves, elephants and bees.

 

If you were able to get a vintage or prototype bottle from the upcoming West Coast Will Call, which one would you want?

I haven’t really looked at the list, since I’m not likely to be able to go! I’d try anything that doesn’t have my doom notes of vetiver, sugarcane or booze.

Both are fine – we have a Blu Ray player, but lots of things aren’t available on Blu Ray yet so I still buy DVDs too.

I love socks! I mostly buy above the knee socks, since I only tend to wear socks in the colder months and they help keep me warm.

It’s not something I seek out specifically, but could be kind of cool.

What periods of art do you love most? Like, if someone was going to get you a tapestry or a box or some other item, what period would you want it to most resonate with? the pinks and golds of Rococo? the clean geometry of Art Deco? The romanticism of Art Nouveux? The strange lines of Cubism?

Probably Art Deco… it just speaks of a decadent time in history.

I don’t mind it too much if it’s just to sample something. If somebody burns a copy of a CD or movie and I really like it, I’ll probably go buy a legit copy after anyway. And if I don’t like it, then I never would have bought it anyway, so nobody’s losing out on money.

Mmm… probably pirates. Not the scary murderous kind, more like the Captain Jack Sparrow loveable rogue kind.

I do… cute barrettes or silk hair flowers mostly. I also often wear scarves in my hair.

Just ears – three piercings.

 

Chocolate. With stuff in it? Are you more a plain chocolate lover, a chocolate and normal items lover (normal items being nuts, fruit, caramel) or do you like weird stuff in your chocolate? (weird stuff being curry, chilis, balsamic vinegar, floraly things)

With stuff is fine, but no raisins I have nothing against raisins in principle, but why anyone would ruin chocolate with fruit is beyond me. With that said though, I’m trying to limit my sugar consumption, so I’m only eating chocolate in very limited amounts right now.

In my head I enjoy gardening, but in reality I’m crap at looking after plants. They thrive for a few weeks as I lavish them with love, then I lose interest and the poor things die a brown and crispy death through inattention.

I don’t have an e-book reader yet. Actually I do have one on my iPhone, but it’s such a small screen that I haven’t really taken to it.

Whatever works. If it’s a huge list though, having an indication of priority would be awesome (like maybe bolding the things you want to try the most desperately).

I've been slack about ordering from the Lab and the Post lately, so I'd probably grab whatever sounded good from the current LEs and catch up with some of the GC bottles that have been on my wishlist for ages. The recent spate of discontinuations has me all worried I'll miss out on GC's I've been meaning to get for months...

 

What level of nudity are you fine with on items?

Nudity really doesn't bother me at all, as long as it's not exploitative.

 

I know the ?aire asked about gently used books and if you like garage sales, but would you like other kinds of gently used items that may have come from a garage sale?

Sure, I have no problems with well-cared-for second hand items.

 

Do you like cooking seasonings, like the kind you can get in ounces sizes? If so, things you'd love to try out?

If they're natural spice blends then sure, but the thing that bothers me with commercial seasonings is that they're sometimes bulked out or enhanced with artificial crap. There are some that I like, but I mostly buy fresh spices and combine them.

 

Do you like any particular kinds of green or back teas or coffees that could also be gotten in bulk?

Nothing in particular, but I always enjoy trying different tea blends.
