Switch Witch help, Fall 2012!

 

My favorite things are faeries (not Amy Brown style - more Brian Froud or Stephanie Pui-Mun Law styles), pirates, the color turquoise, She-Ra, My Little Pony, Bioshock, World of Warcraft mini pets and mounts (I have most of them except most from the trading card game - Warcraft Pet collection here and for mounts I have only what I can get in-game)(Also, Rumble and I play Horde!), keys, funky yarn, classic monsters (frankie and bride of frankie being my favorites!) and Tim Holtz-esque scrapbooking/art card stuffs. I'm also working on writing self-published books for the Kindle, making plush dolls (etsy link is in my sig), and getting a few tattoos.

-Would you enjoy receiving cute but useful items like colorful kitchen utensils/gadgets, or bento supplies? (boxes, chopsticks, accessories, etc?) What about things like spice mixes (homemade, or Penzey's for example)

-Do you like cute, seasonal or fluffy PJ bottoms? Like they sell at Target, Old Navy (they have had cute Halloween ones!) If so, what size do you wear?

 

Meh, I don't really wear those.

No nuts. I like pretty much all varieties of chocolate - white, dark, milk, yum! Bonus points if it has bacon in it *drools*

 

-I live near a Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and Penzeys! What does your little heart desire from any or all of these places?

 

I have no idea what they have at Trader Joe's or Penzeys - but I already have a Whole Foods near me.

 

-Are home made foods acceptable or does the idea of eating strange mailed food disturb you?

 

I'm okay with it!

 

-I just gave you $20 and sent you into a "has everything" store ala Walmart and told you that you have to come out having spent it all, and none of it on anything you need. What would you buy? Be as specific as possible!

 

My Little Pony mystery packs, a pack of those frosted sugar cookies they always have with the baked goods section, and some makeup - eyeshadows and nail polishes!

 

-What kind of cuisines do you like? (I mentioned this in my ?aire but curious what my witch may like)And, what are your favorite restaurants?

 

Chinese! Also typical bar type food. Orlando Ale House, Chili's, and Steak and Shake.

 

-I'm from Canada - is there anything specifically a witchee might like that is only available here?

I own a Kindle, and LOVE it! Looking forward to maybe getting a Kindle Paperwhite (NO ads version) when it comes out!

I don't have any burners, and no candles (rambunctious dog and candles = bad combo!). But I love Christmasy type scents - apple, cinnamon, clove.

They're okay.

 

-What's the neatest freebie you've gotten? It can be cool or thoughtful or just totally unexpected, and not limited to BPALdom.

 

A wild art stuffed doll that my mom made - it was very unexpected!

-If your witch is a knitter, crocheter or sewer, is there a particular type of garment you would love to receive (hat, scarf, wrap, cowl, socks, fingerless gloves, arm warmers etc)?

 

Arm warmers or wraps!!

 

-Is there anyone else in your house (kids, pets, partner) that would really appreciate a small gift being included for them in the switchwitchy haul so they don't feel left out?

 

My husband would think it was cute if something World of Warcraft or League of Legends inspired was included for him, lol.

 

-I've been getting into indie nail polish brands recently. What's your favorite indie brand of nail polish? Or what's your favorite mainstream brand of nail polish? Or are you not big on polish?

 

Enchanted Polish is a big favorite of mine. I love nail polish! Not anything SUPER chunky-glittery - I like semi-sparse glitter, or glass fleck. I also LOVE holographic polishes, and duochromes (I already have a 'Just Spotted the Lizard' dupe (Nicole's 'Mer-maid for Each Other') though).

 

-Since it's been mentioned several times, and I've also offered to nacho witch some, would you you like to receive wild rice and or maple syrup? I promise to include recipe ideas with the wild rice.

 

I ADORE real maple syrup! (and maple syrup candy - the kind that melts in your mouth...YUM!)

 

-I have 5 bushels of tomatoes sitting in the kitchen right now that are supposed to turn into red sauce tomorrow, so would anyone like a basic red sauce (spaghetti sauce) to make its way to them?

Brian Froud, Stephani Pui-Mun Law, Brom, Edward Gorey. I also love most anything that comes out of Duirwaigh Studios - whether their own art, or artists they sell on their site. Also, 'pulp' art - like from old books/movie posters, cheesecake, that kind of stuff!

 

-If you could have an image or certain subject painted for you on any type of "canvas" (on a box, on paper, on a canvas, and so on) - could you point your witch to some of these images?

 

I may need to think about this. Remind me if you need this answered!!

Stuffed toys? Yes!!

 

-mix-in-a-jar? How to you feel about cookie or cake or soup mixes that come in jars and you just add, like, an egg or water or what have you?

 

Sure! Not soup so much though - but cookie/cake for sure!

 

-Would you be interested in beer, wine, or other specialty beverages from your Witch's area?

 

Oh yes! That being said, I tend to prefer lighter beers. But for all other beverages, I'm good with most anything - and if not, I have plenty of friends and a husband who would be!

 

-Are there any crafts/skills you've wanted to learn but haven't gotten around to? And if so, would you be interested in supplies and tutorials?

 

I want to learn how to make fimo/sculpy-like faerie dolls (2 of my favorite people who do this are Wendy Froud (I have her set of 3 faeries - an original set AND a customized set!) and Liz Amend)

 

-I live near this very cool Retro store (you can order online too) - are there things from it that would make you squee if your witch sent them?

 

The lil Frankenstein plush doll is adorable (as are the Creature and the Wolfman)! I also love the Frankenstein action figure, the 'why yes, I am that kind of girl' shot glasses.

Like? She-Ra. I'm really getting back into She-Ra, and need to dig out my old dolls and make them all pretty again, and start finding all the ones I never had!

Dislike? Amy Brown faeries. I don't know...for some reason I get the sense there's no *feeling* behind them. I can't explain why, I've always felt like that about her work. Like she doesn't *really* believe in faeries *shrug*

I'm still very much a beginner and learning when it comes to that stuff...so maybe a good set of things for a beginner?

 

-Hey Witchee! I want to send you a delivery. It could be cupcakes from a local bakery, it could be a singing hugging bear-a-gram, it could be a bouquet of flowers. But it will be something that you need to be there to receive.a) Are you OK with "special deliveries"? *waggles eyebrows* Is the address in your questionnaire the best place to reach you for said deliveries?c) If the delivery requires a phone number (as say, some florists do) would you be OK with that information being tracked down by your Witch or asked of you anonymously?

 

I don't really want to be sung at or hugged or anything like that, and flowers would prolly make Rumble question (so please no flowers, eek!). Cupcakes I'm totally okay with thtough, lol!

I'm pretty much okay with gently used/homemade, unless it's beauty stuff.

I like vintagey toys!

Not yet. I'd LOVE to start decorating big time for Halloween though!

I like sweet white wines, but I'm kind of just getting into wine, so I still have a LOT to learn about the different kinds! So I'm open to whatever As for beers, I tend to prefer lighter things - I like lagers, generally. I do like some porters - there's a vanilla porter that's really yummy. NO BLUEBERRY, I hate burping up blueberry, lol! Pumpkin is okay, if it's light. Spice might be fun. I don't like really sour or hoppy beers >_<

 

-Are you a gamer (of any sort - video, casual, tabletop) and are there any games you want?

 

Oh yes!! HUGE WoW girl(For the Horde!!). I buy a lot of stuff off of Steam (my user name is zombiewench), too. I also own an Xbox, and a Nintendo 3DS (and DS, and Advance, and Super, and Original...lol!). Games I want, by system:
