Favorite colors for something crafted/knitted: Black and jewel tones – dark red and dark green in particular

Colors you absolutely do not want for something crafted/knitted: Pink or pastel colors.

Which fall holiday do you celebrate if any? Halloween, and any other holiday that lets me dress up and mooch candy.

Favorite scent notes: Pumpkin, ginger, citrus, sweet foody scents

Scent notes that you absolutely do not want: Dirt, vetiver

Any food or other allergies? Pets, cigarettes, etc? Pomegranates

Vegan/Vegetarian? Nope

Favorite material types (yarn or other): Silk and cashmere – the very soft, snuggly stuff. Anything that feels soft when nuzzled.

Materials you will never ever want to touch (acrylic yarn, leather, velvet, whatever you have an aversion to.): *shrug* No particular dislikes.

Do you like fingerless mitts? Color? Length? I do! Black is always a good color, as all of my jackets are black. Mid forearm to elbow is a good length. I have several pairs of these that see regular use.

How 'bout scarves and hats? Plain or fancy? Lacey? Color/width/length? Yay for hats and scarves! I like fancy scarves and denser hats - cables and fancy stitches are delightful, so long as the hat is warm. Jewel colors - blood red, evergreen, royal purple and deep blue - and black are always welcome. I like loooooong scarves, but that's a purely stylistic preference.

Can you wear (very soft, fine) wool? Do you prefer not to (for whatever reason)? I can, and do. Very fine wool is lovely.

Top three favorite hot beverages? Be as specific as you like (ie not all hot cocoas are created equal!)

My boyfriend makes chai, using spiced black tea as a base. Loose leaf black tea blended with spices, like
are ideal. Part of the fun is seeing how different spice mixtures affect the chai, so if there is a teashop close to you, I'd love a sample of a local blend.

Sweet fruity herbal teas, preferably loose leaf. Berry and citrus notes are always lovely, as are pumpkiny tea.

Flavored cocoa, with a preference for minty or raspberry flavors. If there's a brand that you know is good, I'd love to try some.

Glass pendants: Flame colors - reds, oranges and yellows, and vivid blues and greens.

Tell me about one thing you have trouble finding for your favorite fall holiday. Pumpkin jewelry, like this, and fitted black t-shirts with pumpkins, black cats, etc. A while back, I found a black Hello Kitty shirt with the kitty next to a pumpkin, and I haven't been able to find it since.

Any fandoms or favorite shows/movies (even if you're not overly-obsessed)?

I like Game of Thrones (the books in particular, but the TV show is fun), Supernatural, Burn Notice and the Avengers. I read a lot, and am fond of Pratchett, Sharon Shinn and the Bolo series started by Keith Laumer. Also, uh, historical nonfiction - big, fat books that go into great detail about European history are awesome.

Are you religious and if so does it influence stuff you like/collect?

I'm the boring kind of nondenominational Protestant, but I like Catholic saint medals and rosaries, and collect them when I can.

Commercial candy (premade)? Types, amounts, any other preferences I can't think of? Uh, I'm always a fan of interesting local stuff, and of what you could call novelty chocolate/ Chili-pepper chocolate? Bring it on. Ginger and sesame seed dark chocolate? I want to try some. A while back, I found some cinnamon chocolate that was *amazing*.

Other sorts of commercially-available treats (seasonal or otherwise)? Uh - dried fruit, like dates, or nuts (walnuts! pecans!) always go over well. I bake a lot of bread, so interesting goodies that I can add to bread are welcome. I'm a sucker for truffles, I will admit.

Do you have gift wishlists (Amazon, Etsy, Kaboodle, etc.) that aren't in your signature or profile? I have a profile on Amazon and Etsy that's included in my questionnaire. My blog has all of my questions from my last Switch Witch, so if you have any questions, please, look at my blog. ^_^

If your Warmer Upper sent you a tiny bottle of booze, would you report them to the cops or would you high five yourself and drink it? What kind of 'hot' drinks do you like?

I don't drink, but flavor extracts, like vanilla, would be cool.

Candles- love'em hate'em what kind do you like? Full Beeswax? scented? If scented what kind? Bring on the fire! I have a number of little lanterns in my bedroom, so scented tea lights would see regular use. If not tea candles, I tend to like the kind that come in little glass jars/containers (I have very, very long hair, so open flame is not my friend.) I love scented candles - pumpkin candles are one of my favorite things about this year. Also, vanilla, or spiced blends. Mmmmm.

How do you feel about pictures, such as photographs you might hang on your wall? If I sent one, would you display it?

If it was cool, there's an excellent chance it would go up on my walls. I tend to make great big collages of pictures pulled from National Geographic, well as art I've gotten online. I like vivid colors, Japanese and Chinese calligraphy and traditional art, art noveau, angels and foxes. Lots and lots of love if it's something with kitsune.

Some examples of stuff I like -

The Grand Canal by Joseph Turner

Adventurers by Norman Rockwell

The Accolade by Edmund Blair Leighton

My favorite's list, on DeviantArt

and just about everything by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law.

Jewelry Prefs? Earrings? Necklaces? Bracelets? Good Lord, yes. I tend towards necklaces - I wear one just about every day. Bracelets and earrings get less use, as I tend towards long sleeves and although I have thirteen ear piercings, I tend to keep the same captive bead rings in and not mess with them. Necklaces and hairsticks see the most use.

Speaking of - hey, Pumpkin, how do you feel about books? Is there any book, series, or genre that you've been reading lately?

Booooooks! I've been getting back into Stephen King (appropriate for the upcoming holiday) and I read a lot, mostly fiction, but also with a fondness for historical nonfiction, particularly on medieval Europe through the late Renaissance.

Not just do you like/want books, but oh Punkin, do you have an e-reader/would you like e-books?

I have a Nook, and I use the Kindle platform on my cell phone and laptop. Yay for ebooks!

Would you like spooky/thematic books?

I'd enjoy them. (Also, I dig cookbooks, so a Halloween/pumpkin cookbook totally counts.) Bring on the horror, the pumpkins and the murder mysteries.

Favorite tree?! Leaf shape!

I like peach trees, and citrus in most varieties. Both peach and citrus are similarly shaped, oval with a slight point.

Do you garden?

I don't, but my apartment has a balcony and a windowbox, and I've been meaning to start growing some herbs. I have the pots, and the dirt, but no seeds. If you happen to have, oh, basil, or mint or something tasty and difficult to kill, I'd be delighted at the challenge. (Also, I'd send you pictures of the stuff as it grows.)

Hey, Pumpkin - the days are cooling off, do you have a preference for tea/cocoa/arm-warmers/candles?

Arm warmers, oh my god. My office is painfully overcooled, so my hands are typically cold. That said, winter is coming, and I like to have a good supply of tea stockpiled for the inevitable February Hacking Cough. Sweet, fruity herbals teas tend to be helpful.

How do you feel about bath products such as soaps, scrubs, shower gels, lotions, etc.? Any preferences (bar soap over liquid soap or shower gels; sugar scrubs over salt scrubs, etc.)? Anything you're trying to avoid?

I'm fully stocked with soap at the moment - I have several big bottles of liquid soap, and a ziplock bag full of little soap samples. Scrubs are fun, and I'm running low on lotion at the moment. I have a mild preference for sugar over salt scrub, but it's nothing significant. Mostly, I need lotion at the moment. Villainess has some lovely stuff, and I'm mad about all things pumpkin and sweet smelling.

Let's talk socks. Tall? Short? Fuzzy? Wool? Whimsical? Colors? Any special fit issues?

OMG, socks! I am very much a fan of socks. (Regardless of my current weight, or body image, socks are love.) As for what kind of socks I like, the answer is 'yes.' I like thigh-highs, and ankle-highs and knees highs, stripes and pictures and fat fuzzy fluffballs. Also, here's my SockDreams wishlist.

What's your Fall holiday decorating/accessories style? Cute little ghosties, baby witches, and happy faced pumpkins? Natural, with cornucopias and arrangements of gourds, pumpkins, corn, etc.? Sort of rustic or country? Classic bats and ghosts and skeletons and monsters? Total kitsch? Blood and gore and prop dismembered limbs?

I like vivid colors and cute things. I don't have any window-clings, but they'd be awesome, and I can put them in the bathroom, and in the windowbox. Cute pumpkins, leaves, maybe a couple of really adorable bats. I tell horror stories, but I don't tend toward creepy decorations.

Would you, my dear little pumpkin, like something from the Mütter Museum?

Their book selection - particularly on forensics and pathology - looks fascinating!

Do you like real maple syrup? How would you feel about real homemade maple syrup made from trees mere feet from my front door?

That would be delicious. I'd love to try some.
