Hey, Witchee, it's getting cold. Socks, scarves, hats or arm warmers?

Socks and wrist warmers. I only wear page boy type hats and I have like 500 scarves so PLEASE GOD NO SCARVES. (Unless they're silk or can be used as a table runner or something.) Wraps, yes. Love wraps. As far as knitted items go be aware that my skin is really uber sensitive (probably from wearing so much perfume; I get contact dermatitis at the drop of a hat) so please only buttery soft merino, silk, cashmere, or a combo. No acrylic or scratchy wool. My feet aren't as sensitive so bfl or merino are both fine (some nylon content in socks is excellent.)

 

Halloween Candy, Decorations, and Costume supplies - What kind are your idea of FUN and which ones would you thoroughly dislike?

Decorations yes! But no ghosts, pumpkins, or witches... I love bats, gargoyles, ravens, skulls and I decorate all year round with those.

 

I'm super picky about my chocolate and candy... but maybe reese's peanut butter cups would be ok. I've been craving chocolate and peanut butter lately. (I'd really prefer Newman's peanut butter cups but I don't think they make halloween bags of candy? I try to stick to organic/fair trade.)

 

As far as costume supplies, I'd love a nice weeping angel mask and wings... and something to make my skin weeping angel color. I saw that Hot Topic had nasty plastic weeping angel masks but I'd love a full head one. In case you're crafty and know how to make masks.

 

WHAT traditions to you partake in for Halloween? Knowing what you do our how you decorate or how you celebrate?

We usually dress up in our (normal to us) fetish type gear and go out. It's the only night of the year that the other half feels comfortable being in "public" while dressed up like a pony. Yeah, probably TMI, but you asked.

 

Are you a fan of anything that you would like a tshirt of? If so, what size would you wear? I usually only wear babydoll type shirts in XXXL or XXL if they're stretchy. I love Nightmare Before Christmas, Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, etc. and I would wear shirts for all of the above. I have a lot of shirts on my Amazon and Think Geek wishlists. Edit: and Firefly, but I don't like brown (which sucks!) so no brown shirts. I prefer black, grey, or dark purple.

 

Do you love, hate, or are indifferent to.....pumpkin flavored things? Usually I'm not super crazy about pumpkin flavored things in general, but I LOVE pumpkin bread and pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. I've been known to have the occasional Pumpkin Spice Latte but I don't HAVE to have one. And right now Teavana has an oolong tea that is FANTASTIC -- Pumpkin Spice Brulee. I bought some last week and I've already emptied the bag. But I get 30% off at Teavana so unless you also get a discount then it would make more sense to send me a GC instead of buying me something.

 

Name some DVDs you wouldnt mind receiving, or are they on an Amazon list? I think my Amazon DVD list is private because I don't usually buy DVD's new... And I'd like to get a PS3 / blu-ray player, our dvd player upstairs just died so now we have to watch dvd's downstairs. Our tv's are ancient so they don't work with most blu-ray players. And a new tv just isn't in our budget or a priority right now because the dishwasher ALSO stopped working (it's been a bad month, everything electrical is breaking except for (knock on wood) our computers, and ...yeah. The other half is leaving for Argentina a week from today and won't be back until late December. So his pay for doing shows in Argentina won't be home until he comes home. He's supposed to get a partial advance soon and I have to budget all of the bills from it and my future pay checks, so things are going to be lean around here. Dear future Witchee, did you get anything from the Beaver Moon or Weenie updates that I need to know about, so I don't accidentally repeat anything? Not yet!! We're totally broke and I think my credit card doesn't have any room on it for anything else. gulp. But I *WANT* both of the BM's (AHAHAHA, what, I'm 12) and the single note. So I will probably attempt to find some way to order them. Even if it means I have to pimp out the other half. And I already have everything from the Halloweenie update because I do decant circles. I DON'T have anything from the BPTP update yet but I plan on getting everything I want... someday... edit: I am also doing a BPTP circle so I have everything now. and I also ordered both Beaver Moons and the new single note. And I'm doing a Philharmonic circle, so I have all of those too. I hope the Yule and Inquisition are small..

Say your witch works at a used bookstore. what kinds of things might you like from there? cool old pulp fiction paperbacks? tarot cards? (we have those.) a dr who pen? books about haunted cemeteries in seattle? you may have all of these things:) oh, and also movies. and cds. Yes yes yes. dr who pen, sci-fi/fantasy, movies, cds. My amazon list is pretty extensive except for the cd's and movies. I wish LibraryThing would document movies and albums along with books.

 

Witchee, the Haunt Halloween update goes live tomorrow! When it does, please post right away and let me know your dreams and wishes! I saw some entries for Halloween things when I was updating my amazon wish list (because I still have wishes for Haunt Lip Lust!) I'd be interested in any yummy lip lust, shower scrubs, perfume, or body glossing that sounds like it would be up my alley. Usually she has too much fruit, floral, or chocolate but every once in a while there is something I MUST HAVE. I love lavender, honey, vanilla, spices, amber, patch, woods, incense. Gloaming is a favorite but I'm set there for perfume and body scrub but I could use more body gloss of that and I'm almost out of my other one too... Roma? I'll have to look.

Table Games - do you play them? If so, which ones, and which versions, and are there any goodies you might like related to them?

Meh. I would love playing games if I had people to play with. My games are all packed up and out in a shed with the majority of my stuff (books, gargoyles, bearistas, mugs, depression glass, candles & holders, candle and soap making equipment, unicorn collectibles... someday I'll get to unpack!) long story short (too late), no, not right now.

 

Witchee, are you in need of any particular spices?

I would like some pumpkin pie spices and I could use some pure vanilla. Any spices I need are in my amazon wish list in either edibles or kitchen & cooking. Honest, my wishlists are EXTENSIVE! Mostly so I don't forget what I need because I have a horrible memory. I would never say no to fancy salts and a new salt grinder. I'm out of everything except pink and normal.

 

Are there any craft project/s you are working on now that you need supplies for? Or rather, is there a craft project you've been wanting to do but need stuff to start? I always always always need more knitting needles (I am waiting to start two knitting projects but I had to order more needles first; I already ordered them though - from The Loopy Ewe. I have a knitting needle selection on my wishlist there that specifies sizes and brands/types. My favorites are Hiya Hiya SHARP and ChiaoGoo Red Lace. I usually use 24" - 32" for cable length. You can buy them almost anywhere - Amazon, etsy, most knitting places. I just bought from The Loopy Ewe because I have some credit there so I didn't have to spend any money, not necessarily because they were the best price.

 

I'd also love some really cool fabric -- especially Nightmare Before Christmas, Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, etc. - to make knitting project bags. A yard would probably make about three or four bags.

 

What do you think of hair sticks? Would you like a set? No, I would have no idea how to use them but more importantly my hair is normally shaved on the sides/back. (it's "long" right now, meaning that it has about 3" of grow out from sides/back and 10" or so from top of the head. Not really long enough for even a pony tail. Maybe a dork knob if I used a lot of gel.)

 

Is there anything you'd really like to have/try from Trader Joe's, or any other popular-but-not-available-everywhere store? I live by a Trader Joes so I'm good there.

 

The thing that I have been wanting ever since I moved away from Texas (I was only there about five months before fleeing) are more Cannon's Sweet Hots (mild) - haven't been able to find them anywhere locally for purchase - no one on Amazon even sells them. The mild are not hot, they're mostly sweet. They're really good on hot dogs and burgers.

 

Don't mistake my unholy love for the Cannon's as a love of hot peppers. I don't really like hot spicy things, my favorite Tobasco for instance is the green - which is more tangy than hot. I like pepperoncini and jalapenos on my sandwiches and pizza but these are usually pickled. Fresh jalapeno really varies in heat too, I prefer the mild ones. Garlic on the other hand, one can never have enough of.

 

I'm a huge fan of savory food. I also love garlic, dill pickles & dill relish, garlic stuffed green olives, peppadews, cornichons, kalamata olives, most salami/summer sausage, KRAVE jerky, beef jerky in general, CHEESE!, mead, tawny port, ice wine, rosemary/garlic crostini type crackers, crusty bread (especially baked with kalamatas or rosemary), fresh apples/pears/grapes, dried cherries and cranberries, almonds, pecans, jams/jellies that are odd flavors like rose, lavender, jasmine, pepper (habanero raspberry or jalapeno jelly or whatever), etc. I also go through a ton of honey. How is this all relevant to this question? Well, I don't know what kind of popular but not available everywhere stores are out there unless they are local to me, so if you have a store that has these kinds of things as a specialty -- then yes, nom nom nom. (I can buy everything I listed locally except the Cannons but it's fun to have local pickles/jams/honey/jerky/etc. from other places.)

 

Would you rather have something fun or practical? I'm a virgo. Fun and practical are the SAME THING.

 

Witchee, would you like a set of Cards Against Humanity? um, I have no idea what this is but if it's fun I suppose so? Maybe I could convince the other half to play games with me at some point?

 

Are you okay with semi-spicy foods right now? I'm thinking like curry or chipotle? If you were to choose a chili powder would you go Hot, Medium, or Mild? We used the hottest possible chili powders for making our muscle rub (it's kind of like Icy Hot, but all natural ingredients and made in tune with the lunar cycle) but as far as me eating it, I am a huge wimp right now and only put teeny amounts of chili powder in with my mashed avocados (along with salt, garlic, and cumin. NOM NOM NOM.) But I don't like peppers in my chocolate or sweet things (except savory jams and still like those on the milder side...) and mild. I like milder peppers.

 

If you were this mystery witch's witchee, would you be interested in Spoonfudge (http://www.spoonfudge.com/) or any other such "ordered online" sweet? I haven't ever had their chocolate and I am kind of a chocolate snob, so I don't know? I used to like Milka bars but even those taste waxy and nasty now. Although the drug store had a special on Moonstruck chocolate and I bought a couple of those (they're from Portland) and it was GOOD. Seattle Chocolates isn't the highest quality but they're ok. Vosges Naga is one of my favorites and I love Dolfin.

 

Also - Double checking everyone's baked goods status. Home-made baked goods or other food stuffs OK? As long as you're super anal about being clean and sanitized... I get squicked out if I find hair in my food.

 

Is there anything you'd like from Lush, witchee? This is pretty thoroughly covered under the bath/beauty wishlist on Amazon. I need SO MUCH but unfortunately most of the stuff I want is UK only (gentle lentil shampoo, fairy sugar scrub, never too busy to b beautiful, see my Amazon wishlist!) but there is stuff available locally that I want too.

 

If you like earrings, what kind? Dangly earrings, hoops, studs - what kind do you like? How long do you like your necklaces? Or would you prefer to just get a pendent, so you can size the chain yourself? This is somewhat covered under the original questions and under the wearable wishlist on Amazon. I usually only wear studs (but I have thick lobes so they have to have long posts) or body piercing spirals/half circles/whatever is cute (not hoops because I suck at getting the bead in), I'm allergic to everything except sterling, surgical steel, titanium. My neck size is what.. 16", so I need necklaces that are at least 21-22" and if the clasps aren't silver, I'll break out from the clasp itself let alone the rest of the necklace. I don't need any pendants unless they are on my wishlist, I usually only wear my scent locket. I could use more silver chains.

 

If I were your witch and were to paint you something, what would you absolutely love, what would you feel ambivalent toward, and what would you not like to see or receive?

Love: Gargoyles, ravens, bats, my dogs, friesians, dark purple/blue swirly things (anything you see on my Pinterest or etsy favorites..)

Ambivalent or not like: er, oranges, yellows, browns? I would need to look at something specifically really because my whims can vary greatly.

 

Is there anything in the Miskatonic Valley Philharmonic update that you're interested in? I'm doing a decant circle so I'm all set!

 

Is there anything my mom's etsy shop that you're interested in? I LOVE the shopping bags and project bags but since it's my mom, I just get them from her of course. I keep hinting that she needs to make me a werewolf hat, but I have the pattern.. I suppose I could just make one for myself.

 

Do you have any upcoming away time I should be aware of, for shipping purposes? Possibly for Thanksgiving week (Mon-Fri), maybe longer. Maybe not at all since the other half freaked out about leaving the house unattended.

 

Would you like anything from Sock Dreams? They sometimes have cute things that I like. I usually wear capri & sandals (no socks) during the summer and BDU's with black socks and fluevogs/converse/docs during the fall/winter/spring. Sometimes I wear my handknit socks. But I rarely wear shoes that show off socks... I need to get some cute mary janes.

 

Your feelings on Adagio teas: If you've never had anything from them, would you be open to trying them? If you HAVE had them and like them, name some favorites blends. I was gifted little tins of four of the Doctor Who teas last round. And while I will drink them, none really grabbed me and made me drink them every day like the Pumpkin Spice Brulee from Teavana or the Butterscotch tea from Mariage Freres (on my amazon edibles wishlist), the latter of which I'm hoarding for special occasions because it is SO GOOD. I need to contact my friend in Germany and have her send me some more Anise tea too. She sent me a HUGE BOX of tea and I dutifully tried them one by one, and the Anise was the only one I was totally crazy about. I prefer black tea as the base and I love rose, chocolate/fruit (chocolate raspberry, chocolate orange, chocolate strawberry, etc.), pumpkin spice, butterscotch, anise.... for herbal teas I'm totally in love with licorice mint and Aveda's "tea" (which has basil, licorice, and mint.)

 

Do you like video games? Are there any you want to play? Do you have a large library? I have a wii (that isn't working very well, I need to upgrade to a wii u), an xbox 360 (which is mostly used for netflix/hbo go right now) and I'd like a ps3 but mostly to watch blu-ray. Most of the games I play are on the PC, which I should change because right now it hurts to sit at the computer but not to sit at the couch. On the PC I have Skyrim (with Dawn Guard), Diablo III, Ultima Online, and a ton of old games that I play with DOS BOX. I loved Infocom Text Adventure games growing up, as well as the Ultima series and then the Sierra On-Line series like King's Quest, Space Quest, Quest for Glory, Gabriel Knight, etc. I love the Zelda games on the wii.. I wish those would come out faster. Once I've finished the game then I don't really want to play again, although I finished Twilight Princess three times I think. Oh! There are a bunch of cool games for the ipad that I'd like -- but I have to upgrade to a better ipad first since I have the original one. pout.

Have you ever tried anything from Paintbox Soapworks? Which products or scents would you prefer? Yes! I'd like the large size of the Honey/Lavender body butter. Everything else is in it's own category on my etsy favorites. I prefer the scrubs over everything else but I would like to try one of the slips in a sample size. Please don't send me soap; I make soap and I have more than I can use.

 

Do you like/have space to garden? If so, what do you grow? I wish! I used to have 50+ rose bushes that I knew all of the names of, 12 varieties of lavender, multiple varieties of rosemary, thyme, basil, etc. I mostly grow edible things that are also ornamental but I'd like a vegetable garden as well. I'd love to do a knot garden.

Name five small things you could use, but might not think to get for yourself? That's kind of the problem ... if I can't think to get them for myself, then I can't think of them now! er, I could use some salad greens, avocado, pomegranate vinegar, salt grinders (wish I could find my mortar/pestle, it's packed up in the shed somewhere), other salad goodies... but other than the grinders and vinegar, they probably wouldn't travel well. I picked up a bunch of pomegranate seeds (all ready to eat) at costco so I was thinking of making salad with them. I should just snack on them too. Er, um, I'm hungry so I'm thinking of food, um.. three more things.. I can't think of anything that would travel well. bath mats, towel sets, etc. are kind of big and spendy. a BPTP coffee mug? BPTP pens? oh, new ipad/iphone usb cords and a wall plug in charger!

 

Is there anything from a farmer's market you might like? local honey, dill pickles, rose/lavender/tasty jams or chutneys, umm things that would travel well. Locally I get cheese curds, veggies, fruit, spiced blackberry wine, salad greens, fish, baked things, juice, vinegar, etc.

 

How do you feel about nail polish? If you like it, are there any brands or colors in which you are interested? I don't wear nail polish although I do wear toenail polish occasionally. Any nail polish would most likely be absconded with by my son or my other half (what? goth boys wear nail polish!) Any polish I get needs to be 3F free (or whatever the new term for it is.)

 

What about makeup? What brands do you prefer and which products would you most enjoy receiving? I usually only wear prescriptives base/powder so I have to order it online which is a pain. I could use some more eyebrow powder (I apply with a brush) and I could always use new fun eye shadows. I had a whole list on my Amazon site from evilshades but it looks like they went out of business. I like greys, silvers, blacks, dark purples, burgundy. I like them sparkly and shimmery, not matte. (again, I'm 12.)

Do you prefer to receive whole coffee beans or ground? Also, if you like flavoured blends, what sort of flavours? (caramels, nuts, chocolate, etc.) I prefer whole beans since you should REALLY use ground beans within a week and you should never ever freeze coffee. But I mostly use my Verismo coffee maker. I do have a coffee grinder and a french press though if you have an absolute FAVORITE coffee that cannot be missed. I do like flavored coffee, I am a HEATHEN. But it must be from a good roaster, none of that mass produced grocery store stuff. I like cinnamon/hazelnut, chocolate, irish cream, chocolate with fruit (chocolate orange, chocolate cherry, chocolate raspberry, etc.), ummm things like that. The best flavored coffee I ever had was in a little hole in the wall coffee shop across from my hotel somewhere in upstate New York when I had to fly there from Denver to train SysOps at our call center. The little cities there were deserted; I swear I was the only person staying in the HUGE awesome hotel. I had a huge suite - like bigger than apartments I've rented - with a kitchen, living room, HUGE freaking bedroom with walk in closed, huge two part bathroom, dining room, reading room. It was freaking cheap too. What is up with places in upstate new york where no one lives anymore? I wanted to move there; there were so many cute shops and awesome fall scenery. Sorry, off on a tangent there.

 

How do you feel about robots? I'm totally not into robots or automatons. Even if I have read some steampunk.

 

Do you want to be an early accepter or would you prefer your reveal later in the swap, say maybe closer to the deadline? Whatever works best for my witch is fine!

 

Are there any GC scents that you love, but for whatever reason, you keep putting off buying bottles of? Well, I keep putting off buying bottles of Druid, Bard, Mr. Prenderghast, Witchblade, Sara Pezzini, Crowley, Aziraphale, The Ifrit, Rat Speakers, Marquis de Carabas, tons more Neil Gaiman scents, more Rogue, Robotic Scarab, London, Spellbound, Hellfire, imps of Vial of Holy Water and Thieves' Rosin .. and that's all I can think of. Plus whatever is on my wishlist.

 

If your Witch were to create a cookbook of recipes she thought you'd like, would you be interested in that sort of thing? And if so, what sort of recipes would you be interested in? I don't actually cook a lot. I do have a collection of recipes that I absolutely love but.. yeah, rarely do I cook them. The other half asks for my chicken tacos and that's about it. Otherwise he likes grilled meat. I would be interested in really yummy recipes that don't require a ton of prep. And maybe garlic soup.

 

Would you be interested in getting a kit of sorts to learn how to do a craft or make something, with some basic starter materials and instructions? And if yes, what sorts of things would you be interested in learning? How to do origami, or glass etching, or cross-stitching, or card making, or knitting, or crocheting, or cheese-making, or mushroom growing, or whatever? yes, cross stitch!
