1) Does anything, scent and / or product-wise, catch your eye from the Haus of Gloi summer drop? (https://www.hausofgloi.com/collections/summer)

I love their bubbling scrubs. I'm also starting to collect wax melts since I finally got a wax melter (... could use another...). Citrusy scents like Zazz in the summer and Imp and Satyr from the regular collection are my favorites. Candles and hair oils always welcome as well, in the same kinds of scents.

2) Yes, the rumors are true- I'll be in Paris this summer! Tell me up to five things you'd be happy to get from there, including any specific teas from Dammann Freres, my favorite french tea shop!

Ooooh, I like snacks. Teas (mostly herbal - roses, apples, hibiscus - I'm also intrigued by the Chamomile Sage and Turmeric teas). Tiny tiny original works of art.

3) I recently discovered Khamilaluna and plan to place an order soon to get a present for my roommate. Is there anything you'd like from them?

Definitely the mango coconut scrub is most intriguing to me.

4) Early July, I will also be taking a trip, but to nowhere so flashy as Paris.  I'm going back to the woods.  However, middle of nowhere Mississippi does have one advantage - I can probably do some wildcrafting while I'm home.  Dear Swapee, is there any small gift from mother nature that you'd like me see if I can source for you from old forests?  Obviously no promises; but if I don't know what to look for, I certainly won't find.

I like tiny things that fit on my letterpress shelves - beautiful seeds, a lovely dried flower, that sort of thing.

5) Also, second question, ring sizes, obviously fingers are all different sizes, even on the same hand - do you wear rings on all your fingers? how about a range smallest to largest?   (like, for me, I can't do thumb - rest are fine, though I don't tend to wear much on my pinkie, pinkie would probably be a 5.5, then 6.5-7, and index is probably 7.5-8)

I can't wear rings because of severe eczema, I'm afraid. 😞 I don't even wear my wedding ring.

6) If your Sprite were to gift you magical items or workings... a) Would you be interested in that? b) If so, what intention(s) would you appreciate most?

If my Sprite understands that I do not personally believe in magic/spell work. I like beautiful things that are made with love and care, especially when they were made specifically for me, but it's about the sense of joy and peace I get from that and the appreciation of others' personal and cultural beliefs. If you're ok with that, Sprite, then I'm totally ok with receiving these things.

7) Would you be interested in a set of (rpg) dice? If so, what colors/aesthetic?

I definitely own too many dice already, lol

😎 What's your favorite creature?

Um, I love all creatures. Really. My favorites lean toward the aquatic but I'm very hard pressed to choose a favorite. I like oddballs like anteaters, painted dogs, manuls/Pallas cats, all the mustelids, Komodo dragons, but really everything. Hoofstock and primates are my least favorite. Mythical creatures - mermaids/selkies/aquatic shapeshifters

9) Do you like reading comics? If you haven't really read 'em, would you be interested in receiving a few that match your book genre preferences?

I do! Saga is my favorite of all time. Rat Queens. Sandman. Anything by Alan Moore. Definitely interested in receiving comics/graphic novels.

10) I'm headed to Puerto Rico in July - anything particularly interesting you would like from there?

Snacks. Local art.

11) Would you be interested in receiving a small bottle of home infused whiskey aged from commercially produced moonshine? Any particular flavors you might enjoy (examples include orange chai or cinnamon chocolate or hot peppers)?

Yes always. Anything that fits my flavor preferences.

12) Would you be interested in homemade shortbread that fits your flavor preferences? Indeed.

13) If your birthday is during the swap, how are you planning to celebrate? Not it. 😉

14) How do you celebrate relevant spiritual holidays in this time period? Sometimes I am invited to spiritual gatherings for friends' faiths, but I am an atheist.

15) Anything you want from the UK? Snacks! It's too hot to mail chocolate though. Doctor Who stuff. Anything from the UK for dogs, since my dog is an English setter and very proud of her UK heritage.

16) Seeds, y/n? My garden is almost entirely US native plants so probably not unless you're in the US mid-Atlantic region and have some natives to share.

17) Are you interested in skincare/shampoo/conditioner? Yes as long as it doesn't contain SLS.

18) Are you interested in tights? If so what thickness, style, and size? Probably not, thanks!

19) Do you use tarot decks? Would you like to receive more - and if so, can you list the ones you already have? I do not use tarot decks for anything except the occasional writing inspiration. I have a Lord of the Rings deck and a Celtic deck. I do appreciate the artwork which I find inspiring.

20) What do you think of the art on this website? https://www.printisdead.co.uk/

I like it! I like plague doctor imagery (although I strongly prefer it to not include references to COVID, thanks). I love flowers, especially orchids. I like living animals better than animal skulls, but I do like human bones in memento mori style pieces.

21) Loose leaf or bagged tea?

Either is fine

22) I make arm warmers.  I make them from sweaters I thrifted.  They can be all one color, or stripes of different colors.  They can be long, to the elbows, or shorter.

If you would like a pair, tell me your favorite colors.  Solids are more generally elegant, Stripes can be as wildly funky as you wish.  Long?  Short?  Cashmere?  Tell me your fingerless mitts arm warmer dreams.

I would love arm warmers - long, short, any colors - BUT I am very allergic to sheep's wool and do not like artificial fibers so I'm limited in what I can wear.

23) PBSW summer collection:

Hammocks and Holystones was clearly made specifically for me, in any format. Why yes, I would like to smell like a margarita. Osage Orange and Yacht Rock also definitely line up with my preferred notes. I just wanna smell like summer all the time.

24) Would you possibly like a simple hand embroidered piece? If you would like this is there a simple favorite flower or summer symbol, like a bee?

Ah yes! I love tea towels, tote bags, or just wall hangings. I love all flowers so it's very hard to choose. I also love insects, though I prefer our native bumbles over honeybees. Spiders, beetles, anything.

26) What kind of sprite would you prefer? A ninja or to know the ID right away?

Either way! You do you, sprite!

27) Are you ok with shunga label art (bpal?)

It's not a style I seek out on my own but I'm not offended by it or anything.

28) Farmer's Market Season:

If it's within my flavor/etc preferences I will love ANYTHING from your local market. That's actually my preferred form of goodies - locally made stuff to you. (I do like pretty much any nut better than cashews but I'll still eat cashews (and my husband loves them) - peanuts, pecans, and walnuts are my favorites).

29) I dye yarn. Is custom yarn of interest to you?

Ooh, anything fun. I really only use yarn for weaving so all sorts of colors and textures are great.

30) Portugal or Berlin:

Always snacks. Always art.

31) My friend makes cool art with garbage, is there anything here you might like?https://www.garbageforgood.com/

I love ALL of this!

32) Would you like items related to your astrological sign and if so what is it?

I'm an Aquarius - I don't feel any particular attachment to my astrological sign but I'm not opposed either. I don't really know anything beyond that I'm an Aquarius.

33) Are there any Korean or Japanese food/craft/self-care items you would be interested in in receiving?

I like snacks and skin care!

34) Is there anything for your garden or houseplants that you need, or would like (tiny, hand thrown cachepot for a prized astrophytum, etc.), or are you proudly black thumb and shun any plant that isn't resin?

I like orchids and carnivorous plants and succulents, I can always use more orchid pots!

35) How many books is too many books?

Is that a thing? lol

36) Plushies

I like plushies, especially of unusual animals!

37) Penzey's?
I live two blocks from a Penzey's 🙂
I wish they offered a jar recycling or bring your own container option. At this point I just use them for the blends that I really like and vanilla, and get the rest of my spices elsewhere.

38) Knitted Washcloths

Definitely. Also my cat likes to sleep on tiny (like tea towel sized) blankets so if you felt so inclined to make something a little larger lol

39) Chocolate

I love chocolate. I love chocolate so much. Milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate, doesn't matter. Caramel and/or nuts are my favorite. But it's consistently in the 90s and sunny here at this point so would need to be packed with ice packs probably. I also love nuts and caramels on their own.

40) Bumper stickers or magnets for a car?

Magnets are good but no stickers please!

41) Japanese fashion items:

It's probably pretty clear from my original survey but I will always always always wear hair pins.

This is a good place to note that for cultural pieces, particularly wearables like kanzashi, it is especially important to me that they 1) come from independent creators from that culture and are not mass market, 2) are more "neutral" and not culturally specific designs (flowers yes; fans or foodstuffs probably no),  3) contain no kanji, and 4) are not overly showy. As a white American I think there's a pretty nebulous line between appreciation and appropriation and I try to err on the side of caution. The exception to all of this would of course be if you are from the culture in question and are generously gifting me something from your own culture, in which case I will always happily and humbly accept whatever you want to share!

42) CBD-infused bath products?

I would definitely use them if you sent them, but CBD tends to have little to no effect on me so feel free to not spend the extra money on CBD versions, haha.

43) Kitchen colors

My kitchen itself is cherry wood, black countertops, and stainless steel. I don't have much of a "real" color palette - I specifically bought my Le Creuset in a mismatch of colors. Teals, greens, blues fit in well anywhere in my house, and we've got a VERY LARGE print of Le Chat Noir hanging in our kitchen so that shade of red also works!

44) Scarf/shawl/wearables colors?

Like with household items, rich ocean-y colors are always a safe bet. (here's a good example! https://cleverchameleon.com.au/jewel-tone-triangles/) Also a lot of woodsy colors (https://stitchpalettes.com/palette/forest-greens-spa0201/). I don't wear neons, pastels, or pale colors as a rule. (This is my winter coat: https://www.torrid.com/product/her-universe-doctor-who-tardis-blue-hooded-fit-flare-woolen-trench-jacket/11950246.html

45) One big box or a couple?

Oh this is totally up to you!

46) How close to final deadline?

Also totally up to you! Heads up though that it looks like I'll be out of state from August 19 to August 28 and then again from September 2-5. I'll have my packages held at the post office so as long as you mail USPS everything should be fine, but might not want to send anything perishable in a package that is likely to arrive during that time! 🙂

47) I am afraid to send chocolate in this heat.  What other things might you enjoy? Gourmet lollipops?  Handmade Marshmallows (not by me LOL)?  Flavored cotton candy? other ideas?

Yes, yes, yes. I LOVE lollipops and other sour candies but really I just have a horrible sweet tooth so anything.

48) do you have any reservations about wearing leather, like in an accessory??

Nope

49) So I took a "viking knitting" class (which is really wire weaving) and can now make necklaces and bracelets.  Would you be interested in either one?

UM YES I just got a sage green Viking dress for ren faire wear sooooo anything would be lovely. I love the toggles, especially anything ocean or nature themed. I love all, but especially the chonky. I like to mix metals so I am totally open to artistic inspiration.
