What's your favorite way to experience Nature?  A hike in the woods, a day lounging on the beach, only as screen savers on your computer? total immersion. I don't want to sit on a bench, I want to lay in the grass. I don't want to lounge on the beach, I want to be in the ocean. I'm not into "strenuous" but I am into "engaging." I look for bugs and worms and tiny fish. I like naming the spiders in my yard. 

 

what kinds of safety and environmental concerns need to be considered for your gnome so they can safely reside at your home? will they live outdoors so they need to be weatherproof (for what kind of weather)? will they be indoors and need to be pet or child-safe? do they need to be very tiny or capable of hanging on a wall? I don't have any restrictions on where my gnome could live so I'll leave this up to you! It does rain a lot and we get freezes and snow but I have many sheltered places where an outdoor gnome could live, as well as plenty of space inside.

 

How do you feel about zombie or other horror gnomes? I'm not inherently opposed but it probably wouldn't be my first choice for year-round gnoming? That might end up being a gnome that only comes out at Halloween. 

 

Do you need any seeds? If so what varieties might you be interested in? Flowers, veg, herbs.. ? I'm too impatient for seeds 🤣

If the creativity bites, would you possibly like a small embroidered gnome? Could be an ornament? Any gender preference or details you might like added (small mushroom, bee, heart or egg...)? I would like a gnome in whatever format you feel inspired to create or procure and I have a soft spot for lady gnomes and native-to-my-area (currently central VA) wildlife or aquatic creatures!

Would you be interested in a small copper nature totem that could nestle in your garden or amongst your plants? I believe that totems have specific spiritual meaning to the peoples who use them and would be uncomfortable with receiving a totem because that is not a part of my spiritual practice or cultural heritage unless that is part of your heritage and you are choosing to share it with me, in which case I would be honored. If you just mean statuary or decor without any spiritual attachment, then yes - I love decorating my garden with tiny friends. 

 

Would you be interested in a decorative pillow or zippered pouch featuring a gnomely figure?  like this?  or a little coin purse? or please tell me to make this because oh my gods... OK I'm in love with the bird nest hat gnome!!! ❤️ If a pillow I would prefer very very tiny to be used as decoration, because that is probably something my dogs would eat if I tried to put it on a chair. I don't think I'd use the coin purse, sorry! 

 

I have an angora rabbit and she's currently molting. Would you like rabbit fur for spinning, felting, or other crafty uses? She's freaking adorable but I probably wouldn't use it 🙂

 

Do you need any spices? I like spice mixes/seasonings that are local to you if you've got something cool (light on the black pepper, and no cilantro pleeeaaase) but I've got a Penzey's and a Spice & Tea Exchange within just a few blocks so I don't need anything. 

 

How would you feel about gnome-inspired clothing? Socks yes, jewelry yes, accessories yes.

Moonalisa: I've never tried them before but I'm in the market for a good hair detangler or leave-in conditioner! Looking at the list, I really love things with rose, lemon, and/or lavender. So if I were to send you a plant, would you prefer an air plant or a succulent?? Either! I'm pretty good with succulents. I have yet to keep an air plant alive successfully but it's been a few years since my last try and I've much improved in my plant parenting skills since then.
