    Herbert West

Got this as a frimp from the lab. I have come to the realization that citrus tends to smell rather nice on me, and this is no exception. The harshness of the citrus becomes sweeter on my skin and releases a pleasant aroma. I can pick up a bit of the aftershave note that is a bit masculine on me. Perhaps Embalming Fluid would be more appropriate on me? I smeared a bit on DH and I have to say it smelled divine on him. A lovely masculine citrus with a hint of musk. He liked it as well, and he usually is not a fan of scents in general.

    Antique Lace

When I first opened the bottle I got a whiff of creamy vanilla. YUM. I was disappointed when I first applied it to my skin because it became a musky flowery "old lady" perfume. I decided to wait it out a bit and I am glad I did! It transformed into a beautiful creamy vanilla with a hint of musk. It has a little bit of a cotton candy note to it, but it is very grown-up and subtle. Absolutely lovely. This is one of my favorites! I like layering it with Tval Pink Cotton Candy body wash.

    March Hare

Form the imp I got mostly apricot, but the second it touched my skin on morphed into clove. And only clove. NOOOOOO. I was tempted to put it up for swaps, but then...wait...ahhh...the apricot is back. And the clove has moved into the background and grounds it rather nicely. Yes...this is lovely.

    Libra 2007

Started out black cherry, but then it went immediately plasticky and the rose and carnation amped and then it went a mix of ash and plastic with spicy floral. Damn you skin chemistry!!!!

    Kumiho

This is a lovely scent, and one of my favorites. The only downside is that it fades very quickly. It is sweet, clean, and citrussy. The ginger provides a bite upon application, but this tones down beautifully. The sweetness is not at all cloying and it is not overly green or fresh, characteristics that generally drive me away from green/citrus scents. This sort of reminds me of Shanghai Tang's room mist/candles.

    White Rabbit

I really wanted to like this because all the notes sounded so delicious to me. Unfortunately, this scent went musty on me. The vanilla never came out and the sweetness was veiled by something mildly unpleasant. I think it half-turned on me. There was the metalicness of turning, mixed with lemony pepper and honey. Boo skin chemistry.

    Bliss

I was worried Bliss would go ashy on me since that has been my experience with other chocolate scented perfumes. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Bliss worked out really well with my body chemistry and captured a distinctive chocolate scent on my skin. Reminds me of the chocolate scented Strawberry Shortcake dolls I played with as a child.

    Shub-Niggurath

Started out as a nice spicy ginger scent with a sharp herbal edge. After an hour or so on me it turned powdery with a faint hint of ginger. I'm not really digging the baby powder scent. I was hoping it would be a little more foody on me. Bah, body chemistry.

    Jailbait

Innocence defiled. Sticky pink bubblegum and the thick, sweet scent of orange and cherry lollipops smeared over a breath of heady womanly perfume. When I first applied this it was plasticky sweet--like cheap candy. I was skeptical. However, almost immediately it morphed into a cinnamon bubblegum scent that is actually quite pleasant and has much more depth than I initially anticipated. The only downside is that the scent fades very quickly.

    Aunt Caroline's Joy Mojo

Got this as a frimp from the generous Vanille! Wet, it was really sweet and fruity--like cough syrup or strawberry Bubbleyum. Stayed fruity dry. Smelled like V8 berry blend juice! This went a little plasticky on me for a bit, but that eventually evolved away into a slightly powdery undertone. Sweet, but not cloyingly so. I think I like it!

    Gluttony

Very nutty. The chocolate, vanilla, and buttercream are not too evident on me. The toffee and praline/hazelnut are very apparent. There is a buttery flavor to it as well, making it smell like my grandmother's peanut brittle.

    Cockaigne

When I first applied this I got a musty, sweet, confused scent. DH hated it and said it smelled like a burnt candy bar. After awhile, Cockaigne developed into a very strong honey scent on my skin. It is almost pure honey emanating from my skin. I can smell a little of the milk and cake hiding behind the honey. If there is wine, it is the slight berry note I am getting mixed in with the honey. I don't think the honey is really me, plus DH doesn't like it. If you like honey though, this one is for you.

    Alice

Wet, I get a lot of milk and honey mixed in with the florals, but in the drydown this almost immediately transforms into a sweet and spicy, predominantly carnation scent. Pretty, but not me.

    Snake Oil

Snake oil reminds me of my childhood vacations in Bali...shopping for wood carvings and learning to dance the slow, posed, eye-shifting dance of the locals. The Indonesian oils are the most noticeable on my skin; the vanilla is barely perceptible. I am still uncertain about this scent. I am fascinated by the dichotomy of an air of sweet fruitiness juxtaposed with a musky, dry, incensy undertone. However, I think I would have preferred if the vanilla note was stronger on me.

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume

My DH exclusively uses Pour Un Homme by Caron and I absolutely love it on him. I was wondering if there were any similar BPAL scents. Created by Caron in 1934, Pour Un Homme is a luxurious, floral fragrance for men. This masculine scent contains a blend of fresh lavender, with low notes of vanilla, amber and musk. Top Notes Lavender, Rosemary, Bergamot, Lemon Middle Notes Clary Sage, Rose, Rosewood, Cedarwood Base Notes Vanilla, Tonka, Musk, Moss
