In the imp, I get a hit of the lychee and lemon verbena over the heady magnolia. On my skin, it's very bright, clean, and light - lychee and lemon verbena, over the rose and magnolia. Dry, it's a velvety, musky scent with a hint of florals. It's very nice, but not my cup of tea.

In the imp: wow - light - not like floaty-light, like shining light; the orange-y petitgrain over the paperwhite & cyclamen. Immediately on my skin, it mellows way out and damps way down - I get just a hint of ozone, but it's barely present. When it dries, it is gone, baby, gone - so sad, because I really loved it in the imp.

In the imp, this is plastic-y at first, but it becomes clearer as I sniff. On, it's a subdued fruityness - very much up my usual alley. When it's dry - first off, this has AMAZING throw, I've never had a scent waft so much. It's sweet, but sullen - a little pouty, but still delicious.

In imp, this is very dry-smelling - amazing how the Lab does that! I get dust, herbs, and jasmine. On my skin, I smell paperwhites, jasmine, and orchid - but as if they'd been pressed in a dusty book. The dry, dust feeling is definitely there. When it dries, it's a dry scent but skin-warm - it could be really killer, but it's not doing anything for me. -
In the imp, this is a sweet fruitiness, with just a trace of sandalwood. On my skin, it's so different than I expected - not dark at all. Definitely sensuous and sensual - the sandalwood and musks get a little stronger, and the jasmines becomes more present, with the fruit and vanilla floating over top. When it's dry, it's a very thick scent - very rich, heavy with musk and amber. VERY sexy.

In imp, this smells just like real egg nog - I get brandy, cream, nutmeg, and sugar. On my skin, it's just like it smells in the imp - like a big glass of egg nog. I'm not a huge fan of drinking egg nog, but so far, smelling like it isn't so bad. It's very faint when it dries, but it stays very much the same. It's an "eh" for me.

In the imp, I smell the orris - it's medicinal, funereal - and maybe the hyssop? Once on my skin, I get a little of hibiscus under the orris/hyssop - like a peek of freshness and life. This warms up and rounds out after I've had it on for a half hour - it's nice but not WOW.

In the imp, Mistletoe '07 is green & herbal - very clean. On my skin, it's definitely a cool scent - refreshing, and definitely green (almost eucalyptus-y, with a brightness that I associate with citrus). There's almost no morphing with this scent - when it's dry, it stays very true to its earlier phases, but it disappeared within minutes! Before I left the house! I really like it, but I will probably just use the decant I have, and not order a bottle - there are a lot of clean, green scents that I like that are easier to get a hold of.

My boyfriend got a gingerbread latte at Starbucks the other day, and, in the imp, this (the 2007 version) smells like that tasted - gingerbread with a overlay of warm spiciness. And it smells the same to me in the imp, on my skin when it's wet, and once it's dry - AND I LOVE IT.

In the imp, this is very light - I get florals that I can't differentiate between. Once it's on my skin, I do get the "drop of cherry" (what I was really hoping for) over a nice, light, bouquet of flowers. And it's much the same on my skin. I really like this one! The cherry does great things for the florals. It adds just a little sweetness, and lightens it just enough - I often find florals too heavy and oppressive. This mix is great! Definitely a keeper.

In the imp, I get the wood, and the lily. On my skin, there's the lily with pepper - but none of the mandarin that I was hoping for. Once it's dry, it evens way out. It's soft and round with a peppery front, but it's pretty blah on me. I'll be passing it on.

In the imp, I get coffee and brown sugar - mmmmmm. On my skin, it smells like brown sugar and cinnamon sprinkled into a big, hot mug of coffee - I'm not getting any cocoa at all, but I'm not complaining. When it's dry, it doesn't morph at all, just warm, sexy brown sugar and coffee with a hint of cinnamon. I love it!

In the imp, this is floral and herbal - light, and very ethereal. On the skin, it's very, very light - more of the mist and dew than the flowers and herbs. Once it dries, it's extremely light, subtle and clean - in the "traditional" ball park, but still fresh and not stuffy or overdone. It would make a very good "every day" scent.

In the imp, Midwinter's Eve (2007) is thick, sweet, juicy plum. It's much the same on - I like it very much. It's not overly sweet - it's a very round scent. It's very sophisticated, but not stuffy. And it doesn't morph when it dries either. This is REALLY nice - I'll definitely need a bottle.

For once in my life, it pays to be a moron - when I made my Capricorn order, I didn't notice that there was a forum-only scent, so I ended up making two orders right together. And each had an imp of Fruitcake! In the imp - mmmm, buttery sweet fruity cake. It's amazing how the Lab's scents so often have a *texture* as well as a scent, and it really smells like the feeling of biting into a piece of cake. On my skin, the booziness comes out, and I'm getting a hint of cinnamon - a little sharper than I'd like, but you can still smell that delicious cake-y scent. There's a cherry-ish / almond-y scent about it that I really like. Once it dries, it's .... mmm, delicious blend of all the flavors that you'd expect. It's delicious, subtle, rich - a real winner.

In the imp, I get saffron, sandalwood, cedar - it's a very thick, sap-y scent. There's something a little sweet when it's on the skin, hovering over the cedar scent; and then I get - minty?! The dry-down is very subtle - woodsy and spicy. It's nice, but not my favorite.

In the imp, I smell juniper with just a breath of orchid and lilac. Once I put it on, the juniper is still in the forefront - but barely - the woods and the flowers are all nicely blended in the background. Dry, it warmed up considerably - the musks come way out. Nice!

In the imp, this smells like dirt with just a hint of the incense. On my skin, it honestly smells just like dirt - this is amazing! Once it dries, it's dirt with myrrh and incense. This is a true piece of art, but not something I'd want to smell like.
-
In the imp, this is Oriental-ish, and clean, with apple and lemon - very nice. It gets richer on - it's almost resinous. The rose comes out to play with apple and lemon. When it dries - I feel like I want to like this, but there's something off about it - like when apple slices turn brown after you leave them out. I'll pass it along to someone whose chemistry will like it more.

In the imp, this has a very candy-like smell - thick, rich, with a hint of lime. Wet, this is a cloud-like scent - there's few individual notes, just a tangle of scent. The wood violet is distinguishable, so is the lilac - but little else. Dry, this is a high-pitched, lime-y floral. I can see this working really well for someone else - but not for me.
-
In the imp, this is almond under heady jasmine - lovely! On my skin, this is very sharp - I smell jasmine, and sandalwood. When it dries, there's something almost sour and powdery. Sad - I really wanted to like one. It had so much potential (almond! musk!), but it doesn't work for me.
-
In the imp, this is clean, and light - there's something lightly lemony there. Wet, this actually smells like the Lab's Embalming Fluid - not at all what I expected! But I love it! Dry, this is subtle and lemon-y - to me, it's just like Embalming Fluid. I will use this, but I don't need to get more.
-
In the imp, this smells like fake red-food-colored things taste - I can't explain it any other way. That's not necessarily a bad thing, though. On my skin, it's very bright and sweet - like red candy (which I like!). Dry, this is sweetness on steriods - not bad, just too much for me.

In the imp: "mmm, bubble gum". Normally that would be an instant "no" for me, but for whatever reason, it works here. On my skin, it still has a bubble-gummy scent, but it's a little bit warmer and richer. The longer I have it on, the more it smells like the dry, hard bubble gum you get in the 25-cent machines outside the grocery store - and then, weirdly, it turns into cocoa. ?!?!? I have to pass this one along; it's just too weird, and I didn't get any of the "happiness in a bottle" that goes along with with.

In the imp, Isaac has the sharpness of aftershave and cologne, with the tinge of tobacco (like a pile of snuff). Wet, it's definitely still sharp - the bourbon comes out with the aftershave and cologne. This smells like a film noir detective who got drunk after losing a case. This smells almost woody when dry - very faint, but nice. I would call this more masculine than feminine, but it's very subtle.
