This has light throw and smells vaguely fruity and alcoholic. It's not a winner but the scent of booze is usually "meh" for me anyway..

On my skin this is mostly apples with a touch of butterscotch.

Combination of booze and dry cakes and incense..for some reason it reminds me a lot like our Value Village lol.

This is all almond at first, which I expected, and then dried down to dare I say it...rose? Sweet floral?...which I did not expect at all. Interesting, but not for me.
-
I thought this was going to be terrible jasmine from the way the imp wafted, but interestingly enough Rapture has settled down into a sweeter, more wearable floral. It's not really my style though.

I'm not sure what to make of this one. I've never smelled notes quite like these...kind of woodsy and herbal yet a bit..sugary? It's very strange, and with no notes I can identify for sure. It reminds me a little bit of these tinned anise candies I used to have..

The scent of calm waters just before a raging storm, limned with achingly-beautiful blooms, an icy scent, but somehow warm, and mirror-bright: bold gardenia, crystalline musk, muguet, water blossoms, clear, slightly tart aquatic notes and a crush of white ginger. Bleh. Apparently me and gardenia do not get along. I was prepared to love this, and it does have some slight wistfulness that reminds me of Shattered's effect..but the gardenia kills off the notes that otherwise would have been nice. Sigh.

Mulled wine and dragon's blood and....cinnamon? O.o Unless my nose deceives me. I wasn't expecting this one to be so sweet. It reminds me of peppermint candy, a less potent version of Inferno, but Tintagel has a fruity tinge that makes it unique. Oh and there's the leather! Yum.

This is almost exactly how my lavender essential oil smells, with a little bit of sage and rosemary. It's sharp and slightly medicinal, but also cool, fresh, and overall quite pleasant.

I don't like how the violet in this dominates. I would have preferred to smell some of the sandlewood, lavendar, and other notes. Sadly my skin ate them straightaway.

Wet, this is WOW LIME AND CITRUS. Now the lilac comes out after it dries...ehhhh. This gentlemen is a dandy. Maybe he's soul-less...the one thing I can say for certain is that he has a weak chin. And a bobbing adam's apple. And doesn't hold up to much scrutiny. Overall, I don't prefer the combination of lilacs and lime. The freshness of the citrus makes the lilac seem cloying and just out of place, paired together (otherwise I quite love lilac).

I'm getting mostly sage with a slight citrus tang. Slightly woodsy, masculine..the throw is moderate at first but then disappears.

This starts out as beautiful herbal lavendar and then fades down to sweet fluffy vanilla lavendar. I love it, and find it relaxing, perhaps a new staple in my bottlte box, but it did not help my insomnia...;_;

This has surprisingly grown on me. Sandlewood and peach, but there's a slight hint of vanilla and something that could be the rose. It's unique and evokes the character very well.

Light fig, something slightly fruity, a whisper of wood...this scent is quiet and subtle in every way. It stays extremely close to the skin with little to no throw.
-
This is a fresh granny smith apple at first, but it gets sweeter as it dries...and then some slightly sinister herbs come out, adding an earthiness that literally screams "poisoned apple". This scent matches the concept perfectly. I'm in love.

Rose and amber and something sweetly metallic. Slightly powdery combination. Strong and has a good throw on my skin.

This is a good, solid leather note. It stays consistent from application to drydown. It's a comforting, smoky, masculine scent, but it's not really my style and I can think of other blends I'd prefer on a guy.
-
I wanted this one to be rose and leather love, but sadly it's all rose on me. Maybe age will strengthen the leather note..
-
This is an odd combination, fruit and leather, kind of a smokey woodsmoke effect when wet, then dries down to a sweet lilac-y plum. I prefer Bathsheba for plum though.
-
This is mostly bright citrus tea, powdery, with something floral in there. There is leather in this too but it's practically non detectable to my nose.

This is for the '09 version. This is pretty, crisp pine needles...and what? Underneath that is a layer of something that smells like cat pee. It's faded slightly now that it's dry, but whoa. I'm going to age this bottle a little and see if it takes the edge off whatever that note is. Gah. Edit: A wonderful forumer sent me a sniffie of the 07 version of Samhain. It's really lovely, spicey and woodsey and smokish and herbal with that note that has the potential to smell like cat pee smoothed down bye what I'm assuming is age. The only note I can name in here is cinnamon. Overall it's incredible and I can see why this is so popular. I may have to rethink getting my hands on a bottle of this.

Wet, this is a buoyant hazelnut, and as it dries, a clear, fresh apple emerges. The berries add a slightly juicy, rich feel and the nuts stay in the background, tempering the apple. It's a very delicious without being overly food apple scent, and I'm glad I have a bottle.

I get the musks at first and then the lavendar stage as well, as another reviewer mentioned. This has a light, crystalline feel, high and slightly powdery. It evokes a very understated, subtle vein of sadness and regret.
