  1. I'm not sure what to make of this one. I've never smelled notes quite like these...kind of woodsy and herbal yet a bit..sugary? It's very strange, and with no notes I can identify for sure. It reminds me a little bit of these tinned anise candies I used to have..

  2. The scent of calm waters just before a raging storm, limned with achingly-beautiful blooms, an icy scent, but somehow warm, and mirror-bright: bold gardenia, crystalline musk, muguet, water blossoms, clear, slightly tart aquatic notes and a crush of white ginger.

    Bleh. Apparently me and gardenia do not get along. I was prepared to love this, and it does have some slight wistfulness that reminds me of Shattered's effect..but the gardenia kills off the notes that otherwise would have been nice. Sigh.

  3. Mulled wine and dragon's blood and....cinnamon? O.o Unless my nose deceives me. I wasn't expecting this one to be so sweet. It reminds me of peppermint candy, a less potent version of Inferno, but Tintagel has a fruity tinge that makes it unique. Oh and there's the leather! Yum.

  4. Wet, this is WOW LIME AND CITRUS. Now the lilac comes out after it dries...ehhhh. This gentlemen is a dandy. Maybe he's soul-less...the one thing I can say for certain is that he has a weak chin. And a bobbing adam's apple. And doesn't hold up to much scrutiny. Overall, I don't prefer the combination of lilacs and lime. The freshness of the citrus makes the lilac seem cloying and just out of place, paired together (otherwise I quite love lilac).

  5. This starts out as beautiful herbal lavendar and then fades down to sweet fluffy vanilla lavendar. I love it, and find it relaxing, perhaps a new staple in my bottlte box, but it did not help my insomnia...;_;

  6. This is for the '09 version. This is pretty, crisp pine needles...and what? Underneath that is a layer of something that smells like cat pee. It's faded slightly now that it's dry, but whoa. I'm going to age this bottle a little and see if it takes the edge off whatever that note is. Gah.

    Edit: A wonderful forumer sent me a sniffie of the 07 version of Samhain. It's really lovely, spicey and woodsey and smokish and herbal with that note that has the potential to smell like cat pee smoothed down bye what I'm assuming is age. The only note I can name in here is cinnamon. Overall it's incredible and I can see why this is so popular. I may have to rethink getting my hands on a bottle of this.

  7. Wet, this is a buoyant hazelnut, and as it dries, a clear, fresh apple emerges. The berries add a slightly juicy, rich feel and the nuts stay in the background, tempering the apple. It's a very delicious without being overly food apple scent, and I'm glad I have a bottle.

  8. I got a bottle of Boo right away, thinking I'd love it. But it took a little getting used to.

    It's pretty and sweet and clean...there's a slight plastic impression I get from what's supposed to be the "cream"...but it seems to tone down a bit after drydown.

    It's gotten smoother and better with a little aging...

    In short, I didn't like Boo at first but it's really grown on me. Might even need a few backup bottles.
