This is based on a fresh imp from the lab. In the vial: straight up baby powder with a touch of vanilla. wet: straight up baby vanilla baby powder. dry: straight up vanilla baby powder mixed with the irish spring I am trying to wash it off with. Must be my body chemistry since Antique Lace is a bpal favorite. Bummer.

Snake Oil with four mints, bergamot, and green tea. Mmm my first bpal that I want multiple bottles of! And that totally suprises me because I thought I was just a strictly floral girl. Goes on wet super minty. It's nice.. I like it lots.. then it gets better About an hour later I smell like the most incredible vanilla with green tea mixed into it.. lickable.. I had my nose buried against my arm for 10 minutes just sniffing while I was watching a movie. And it's lasted hours and keeps getting creamier and I get the mint still but it's not the overwhelming mint of the wet stage. Very very yummy. Definitely going to get a second bottle of this in my next order. I can see this almost as a signature scent.

This review is based on Persephone in my scent locket. I'm not really sure if I put too much on or what.. but this smells very sour to me. I can smell the rose but (I believe it is the pomegranate) smells very sour to me. The scent wafts up to my nose often.. sometimes I smell the rose and think Mmmmm then others I get the sour (almost like vomit after a night of drinking too many scorpion bowls) smell. It's a weird sour.. like I got from a l'artisan scent that had patchouli and rose (voulour le roses?) that made me sick to my stomache with a weird sour rosey scent. So I can't be 100% sure that it's the pomegranate. I love Evelyn perfume though (and the david austin rose!) and this isn't that for me. Not really a favorite for me.. maybe I should try it on my skin though and it will lose the sour edge. I hope rose red is smoother!

Wet: WHOA! Strong boozy rummy butterscotchness! 10 mins later: Mmmmm this smells like boozy butterscotch. I want to lick my arm. It reminds me of my favorite christmas candies the butterscotch lifesaver packs with the weird santa on them. Loving this.. going to order a .5ml for weekends and wearing around the house. Winner!

My first true stomach turning reaction to bpal. ungh On me this smells of sharp bug spray. Also like a really bad perfume I wore in the 80's that had no sugar notes in it at all and I wish i remembered the name. It was awful! I really wanted to love this because who doesn't want to smell all homey and yummy like pancakes and syrup? But noooo.. I huffed from my wrist until my eyes crossed and underneath I could smell maybe a little bit of the syrup but then I had to scrub it off. I can't seem to get it off. help..... Verdict. maybe when it ages it loses the bugspray thing on me? I hope so but I think I'm doubting it.

I bought a .5ml without testing first. When it arrived with 7 other bottle friends I took a quick sniff and.... "ICK!". I didn't really think of it until I was wearing Pele for it's first daytime testdrive (which I lovvve). I went to refresh Pele and I grabbed the Euphrosyne bottle by mistake and slathered it on. I loved it. Creamy floral goodness. Extremely pleasant from top to bottom. My boyfriend grabbed me as I was walking past him and buried his face against my neck and proclaimed I smelt amazing all day then .. ON WITH THE RAVISHING! It lasted about 2 hours on me before I had to refresh. Winner!

I like Dorian lots! I even ordered a .5 after I got to sample an imp. It's different from my usual likes (which are mostly creamy florals). Dorian starts out spicy to my nose.. I can smell the rich tea and the lemon but it's swirled with exotic spices that tickle my nose. Lasting power has been pretty decent at about 3 hours or so (and for me with these oils that's pretty long). My good natured boyfriend let me put some on him last night and I think I like it more on him then me. Very sexy! Smooth and Spicy is the best way I can think of to describe it. Winner!

I recieved Lady of Shalott as a frimp in a recent order. It's so lovely. It reminds me alot of Pele (and Child perfume) but with a more watery feel to it. When I first applied it smelt strongly of greens. Then fairly quickly the beautiful scent of gardenia embraced in water blossoms and toss in a little wistfulness. To me this is a very clean scent. (I love white florals) I had to reapply after an hour. For some reason barely ANY of these oils last for longer then an hour or two tops on me. Might be lovely in a scent locket.

I think this is for Smut '06 (from the pics I've seen!) I *love* the name! On me it smells of a cardboard box wet with purple. Very grape (I wonder if it's the boozy scent but bordello doesn't smell grape on me from the quick test I did of it). I like it.. purple grape cardboard box is the best I can describe how it smells on me I don't think I'll wear it often but I can see someone else loving it. (like Denmother *see review above* who wrote the most fantasic review and I'm jealous it smells so good on her! lol) Added 10/12: So since I am new to bpal and oils (except for like kai and child) I didn't realize that rolling it between your palms for a little bit and tipping it all around and shaking it and holding it a bit to warm it up (gawd.. I'm going to end up at bingo with a treasure troll ritual when I'm old :/) .. makes it smell better, blends it and basically made it a lot more smooth. ANYWAY.. um wow. This is really really yummy. Very sexy musk sugared with a touch of booze. Pretty much covers it. it still has a little bit of strange scent that I can't put my finger on but I know I'm going to be wearing this quite a lot now since it's pretty addictive. It has really good staying power (one of the few in my gigantic new collection that doesn't either fade in about 20 minutes to zippity or becomes a faint skin musk type - possibly since it's aged?) and the sillage is wonderful. I just slathered myself in it to go sleep and have naughty dreams with.

I received a frimp of this in my order It smells like grape juice poured over baby powder and let to sit for a day on me. I think my body chemistry is broken or something. lol

Smells lovely. A herby Green Tea with lots of lemon. Very similiar to my l'occitane Verte so it's not unique for me and it fades alot faster. I'm grateful I got a little sniffie sample in an order from a forum member though since it seems to be a bpal classic.

Mmmm this smells soooo goooood. I wish my nose was more sophisticated so I could adequately describe how this smells but it's a beautiful autumn scent. Pumpkin and warmth. It's my first pumpkin smell so I was expecting more of a pumpkin pie smell but it's like when you mush up the inside of a pumpkin while you're carving it and then sprinkle cardomon and ginger inside it. Very cuddly smelling.

Wow how dissapointing. My first bottle a dud on me. Smells like fake mint in the bottle to me with a hard undertone. Wet smells like dark chocolate with mint. Kind of like the altoid peppermints wrapped in dark chocolate. That lasts about 4 minutes. Then it smells just like licorice. Now, 20 minute later I smell like wet powder. I'm stinky!

This smells exactly like incense to me with just a little sour note. Incense in a Salem witchy shop. I wouldn't wear this personally because it smells *just* like a stick of incense to me (nag champa almost?) I will sniff it often though because I have great memories of drifting around Salem in the fall and still do often and this reminds me what Crow Haven used to smell like.

Review: In the bottle: Holy grapefruit batman! Wet: Grapefruit and guava. Drydown: still grapefruit and guava but it's more subtle and no IN MY FACE like my first impression. Verdict: I avoid grapefruit scents usually since they’re not really me. But I can appreciate this scent lots because it smells very “pulled together”. I’d imagine all those bunches of women who love grapefruit type scents would looooove this .

Review In the bottle: Wow It’s neat in the bottle. Smells like a bunch of flowers and their green stems exploded. Wet: Violets! I smell violets! And wisteria. And lilac, definitely lilac. Daffodils. And definitely dandelion stems. Wow how interesting. Dry dandelion stems and daffodils. Verdict: I like this lots. Smells very springy to me. Not really ghosty. More like walk in the park during the spring when the flowers are wet or shoving my nose into a boquet of flowers with all soft wet green stems. Packing it away til the spring (I’m reviewing in the autumn)

In the bottle: peaches that smell a little astringent/fake Wet: Wow. How pretty! A bright pretty peachy scent. I’m totally surprised that the amber is so clean smelling too. My only encounter with amber was dark and cloying but this is bright and happy. Dry: Still loving this. Smells like peach with a little warmth but bubbly and bright. I keep sniffing my arm. Throw: Just normal for me. I might need to slather it on. I only used a little bit to test and it's fading. Verdict: Winner for me. Smells like warm cuddly peach with a happy face!

Review: Initial Impression: Lemon Pledge Wet: Lemon Pledge with some weird unknown mustiness that seems out of place and really stinky on me with a weird unplesasant odor. Dry: Must. Wash. Off. Omg. Is it supposed to be this way? Throw: (across the room) heehee Verdict: Maybe I got a bad imp or something but it smells like lemon pledge layered over dead animal on me. Totally bizarre. I haven't tested enough of the scents yet (this is my third!) to know if it's the white musk just turning awful from the moment it meets my skin or what.

In the bottle: Oooo violets! Wet: It smells like greenery and violets to me. Dry: Pretty violets and I can slightly smell other florals floating in and out. Definitely the wisteria. Throw: It didn’t last long at all on me. But while it did it was strong. It went from.. OMG THIS IS SO STR… where’d it go? Maybe my nose broke. Verdict: pretty and violety. I can see wearing this in the spring. It smells purple to me and like those violet candies. I wouldn’t trade away a bottle that came my way.

Named for the ambitious, vengeful poisoner Catherine deMedici, who used perfumes to perform her dark deeds. A sinful blend of orange blossom, rosemary and rose... allegedly the exact perfume she utilzed in her work. I love roses, orange blossoms and rosemary. So I was excited to receive this imp as a freebie in an order! This is my first review. I admit to not having a very trained nose! In the bottle: Mmmm rich lusty flowers. Wet: A blast of orange blossom. Did I mention I love orange blossom? I can also smell the rose which is lovely. I can't smell the rosemary at all. Dry: Very pretty still. What I smell predominantly (and almost exclusively) is rose. A sweet lush rose. Throw: Fairly decent throw on me after a half hour. My personal verdict: Very pretty rose scent. A little soapy but still pretty. Smells like a single note scent to me but that could be my uneducated nose. I wouldn't wear it often because I'm rarely in the mood to smell like a rose but I'm glad I have it for the occasions I'd like to.
