Scents for doula work and birthing

This. Also I was so sick to my stomach that pretty much every smell made me want to hurl while I was in labor. Unless it's rubbing alcohol I would not use it in the room. I remember a nurse was chewing some sort of mint gum….and it was just awful. However that was just me. I have always thought that jasmine was very calming. I prefer it as my bedroom scent over lavender. Again that's just me. I agree with this.

  3. Yay! I'm glad! Glad I could be of help. The USPS is uh... really... not all on the same page with everything!
  4. The thing I've been told with the USPS, is international shipments will take 7 - 10 business days. It could be that the April 7th CnS is just... movin' slower for some reason, I suppose. Then, the USPS has also told me that some post offices just don't scan packages at all, and so there wouldn't be tracking information for that package. I mailed one thing last month. It took 10 for it arrive and that was US - US shipping, in addition, half of the post offices it went through, didn't scan the package. Maybe give it a couple more days and then contact the Lab?

    Hideous Heart

I got this today, and mmm.. In the Bottle: CHERRY. OMG, cherry. Maybe alcohol? Wet On Skin: Cinnamon. Red hots. Dry On Skin: Spiced cherries. I love this. Absolutely love it. I'll be hoarding bottles of Hideous Heart. My husband likes it too, which works for me. I keep sniffing my wrist. Mmm... this is soooo good.
  6. Fright

    Pronouncing "BPAL" and scent names!

For Faiza, I pronounce it fay-ZEE-uh Edit: Improperly spelled Faiza! Thank Dymphna.
  7. Fright

    Death Cap

This is so lovely. It's a dry, herbal smelling oil. It's earthy, a little dirty. I love this. LOVE. It's in my top ten.
  8. Fright

    Arachne

I don't get grape, or bubble gum out of this. It's very.. soft on me. Very.. faint. Only lasted maybe 3 hours or so. I got a pale kind of floral out of it. Kind of a maybe aquatic to it? So lovely for the summer I think. So very lovely for the summer. I adore this one. I'm glad I've got a second imp of it headed my way.
  9. Fright

    The Smiling Spider

I love me some clove. Hell, I love the spicy smells. I was dying to try this. I ripped into my package and coveted the tiny bottle. This is so nice, and so just.. yum. I could bathe in this. It's just so, warm and, kind of cozy? This is one of my favourites. I did pair it with some Saw Scaled Viper. Luscious. Delicious. So tasty.
  10. Fright

    Mme. Moriarty, Misfortune Teller (2006)

I'm not sure how to describe this. It's warm. Spicy. Slightly mysterious. A touch creepy, maybe? It smells so odd. I remember thinking, "Mm.. smells nice.. who is that..?" and then I blushed like an idiot and realized it was the Mme. Moriarty. I don't know how to put into words how this smells, but it smells.. nice. I do love my impie of this..
  11. Fright

    Green Tree Viper

I love Snake Oil. I love mint smells. This was the perfect combination for me. I almost wet myself when I put it on. It's cool on the skin. It's very minty and vanilla-y on me. It's sooo lovely. It doesn't last very long, sadly. Not near the stay-power that Saw Scaled Viper has, but still, sooo lovely. Soft, and faint.
  12. Fright

    Saw-Scaled Viper

This one got quite a mixed reaction from me. I wanted it badly. It came in. I sniffed it in the bottle. My thoughts? "Christ on a cracker! Wtf?! EW! NO! Why?! I might cry.. maybe I imagined it.. *small sniff* OH! NO! I DID NOT! Is that.. that.. WOOD?! WOOD?! Did Beth stuff an invisible tree in this sucker?" I promptly stuck it back in with the impies and twitched. I picked it up tonight, at, 1:10 in the morning. I figured if it's horrible, only me and the boyfriend would know. Wait, no, just me. He's glued to Neverwinter Nights 2. Just me. I put a little on my wrist. The cassia wafted up to my nose and I got twitchy. I held my breath. Bit my tongue. I held my arm away from my body. I waited five minutes, and slowly, carefully pulled my wrist up to my nose. It smelled GOOD. VERY spicy. VERY cinnamony. I LIKE this. This is NICE. Mmm. Yum. I may defenitly have to invest in a 5ml! Actually, it goes quite nice with The Smiling Spider. ETA: For spelling. Shame on me. Even with spell check.
  13. Fright

    Medea

I sniffed the bottled and crinkled my nose. I remember thinking, "I dunnoh about this one.. I guess it'll teach me to not buy oils just because I like the NAME and the DESCRIPTION. Not based off the notes I like in the bottle..! I'm glad I don't work today.." I put it one, surprisingly, it was nice. It's very floral-y on me. Very green. Definately nice for the spring. I think I'll be keeping this one..
  14. Fright

    Blood

I fell in love with this one right away. Cherry and cloves. Nothing better. And it is ALL cherry and spice on me. It's a warm, dark smell. It lasts for hours on my skin. This is one I'd buy a big bottle of.
  15. Fright

    Dracul

I was very hesitant to try this, because in the bottle it smells very masculine. But, on my person, it doesn't smell too masculine. I definately get a pine smell and the cloves out of this one. I don't think I'll buy a big bottle of it, but I will probably keep an imp or two of it around.
