(2018 version.) Wet: Snake Oil with some snow slush. Please, please work. Dry: Snow White with a hint of Snake Oil. 馃槓 Not what I was expecting, or hoping for; SO is such a strong scent, I'm seriously surprised that the "frostbitten" part of the blend has taken over. I'll keep my decant around to see how it ages, but it's not really my thing so far.

Wet: Even though it's been years since I've tried Snow White(it didn't work well on me; it ended up smelling like a mixture of pine and plastic upon drydown), this is Snow White + Blood Kiss. (Snow White being the dominant scent.) Dry: Still more Snow White than Blood Kiss. The throw on this (much like the wet stage, even though I didn't mention it) is actually pretty good. Also, unlike just Snow White itself, no plastic is found. I like this, but it's not bottle worthy (for me).

Wet: Tobacco! This smells like tobacco.. and cobwebs? Weird, I know; I'm not getting any ginger or gingerbread scent from this yet. Dry: Clove? Clove and tobacco, basically. Not getting much of a gingerbread scent, just more of the spices that are IN the gingerbread. The tobacco is very dominant here, and I'm still getting that weird cobwebby vibe. Not really my thing.

(2018 version.) I've been avoiding this scent since Yule 2007 due to my hatred of the actual drink. I figured it was time I at least try a decant. Wet: Sugar and burnt plastic. Off to a great start! Dry: Plastic, plastic, plastic. With a dash of nutmeg! (To be fair, a lot of cream/milk scents don't work well on my skin, so YMMV.)

(2007 version.) Wet: Rich, tart, almost candy-like sugar plums. There's just the barest floral trace, but it's not strong enough for me to figure out what the "winter flowers" are. Dry: The winter flowers have completely gone away now, and I'm left with just the sugar plums. Not as sweet or tart as the wet stage, but it's still a rich sugar plum scent.

Wet: Lavender, strawberries, and a little bit of soap. I will say the soap adds more of a "fresh" kind of scent rather than... soap suds. Dry: Take a handful of strawberries. Wash them with lavender shampoo. After doing a crappy job of rinsing(aka leaving a liiiittle bit of shampoo on there), smell the strawberries. Bam. You've got Mariposita. (In short; slightly lavender-shampoo scented strawberries.) While this isn't a perfume I reach for often, if the weather is warm and I know I'm going to be outside and/or around a ton of people (concerts, Disneyland, conventions, etc.), I will absolutely slather myself in this. Clean and sweet is perfect (for me) in those situations.

Wet: Sweet coconuts (not candy sweet at all) and incense. A bit of orange blossom as well, but more of a background note. Dry: The orange blossom is bit more front-and-center, with the coconut retreating to the background. The incense is still there, making this more of an "orange blossom incense" scent rather than "coconut incense". Very light, but pretty scent.

Mme. Moriarty, Misfortune Teller (2006)

Oh man, I didn't realize I was -this- late on reviewing this. (I think I bought this around 2008?) Wet: Plum, red musk, and patchouli leaf. Definitely has a Snake Oil-like quality to it. Dry: I can smell the same notes as the wet stage; the biggest difference is the scent is now a little bit sweeter(from the vanilla bean?), but also deeper and a little muskier. Red musk tends to work amazingly well on my skin, so if that's one of your death notes... you may not like this. Beautiful scent. -
Wet: Tangerine cream, and a small hit of saltiness from the ambergris. Dry: Getting a slight creamsicle vibe, but it's so much more than that. Almost like.. an aquatic, slightly salty, creamsicle. Sounds strange, but it really works well on my skin. One of my favorite scents, ever.

Wet: Warm (and completely decadent smelling)vanilla, with orchid and strawberries. (The richness of the vanilla might be a mix of the vanilla + honey, but nothing is reading as a straight honey note to me.) Dry: Warm vanilla is still the queen, with just a touch of strawberry. The orchid is pretty light, but it's still present as well. (So strongest to least: vanilla, strawberry, orchid.) The bergamot never showed his(her?) face, but I don't think I'm necessarily missing it. This is like a classier, more elegant version of a foodie scent. So good.

Wow, this hasn't been reviewed in quite a while! While I didn't review this when I first got it, I will say that in fresh vs. aged, the fresh version smelled far more herbal and more masculine. Wet: The verbena stands out the most; it's very tart and in-your-face. The tea and lavender are hanging around, but not nearly as strong as the lemon scent from the verbena. Dry: Verbena is still the first thing I can smell, but it's not as strong. There's an added warmth to the scent now, that I believe is coming from the white sandalwood. The tea and lavender are in the background, but just barely there. I really like this! (Also, this scent could be a cousin of Embalming Fluid.)

Wet: Sweet, tropical flowers. Plumeria? Just a touch of ginger as well. I swear I can smell a little bit of coconut, too. Dry: If you were outside on a warm day smelling tropical flowers, I imagine it would smell similar to this. The coconut has disappeared, and the ginger is barely hanging on. A light, sweet, somehow warm, tropical floral scent.

"I bought this specially for you. I remember you said you 'go for merlot.' " "I said I worked at Merlotte's." Wet: Sweet merlot, and a little bit of rose. Dry: Stays similar to the wet stage; sweet merlot and roses. While the merlot was the star of the wet stage, I'd say the roses and merlot are about 50/50 now. The roses, by some miracle, haven't turned soapy at all. This is lovely!

Wet: The mahogany is the strongest note here. Something warm, sweet and spicy as well; it's not reading as chai to me, but I'm sure that's part of it. Dry: NOW it's reading more like chai to me. The mahogany stuck around, but (thankfully for me) it's not as dominant as before. Kind of a warm, spicy library scent. I wish that I was getting some type of fur note, that would have made it extra cozy!

Wet: Sweet and salty patchouli, with white sandalwood and honey. I'm digging the saltiness! Dry: Sweet and salty sandalwood, with a touch of honey. The patchouli from earlier can't be found! I like this, but it's not a love for me. I think a decant will be plenty.

Wet: Black musk? Blood musk? Dark-smelling, musky fur with a hint of ozone. Dry: Oh, hi clove! Dark musk, fur, ozone, and clove. The fur scent is a little stronger than it was in the wet stage, but that dark muskiness is the most prominent thing I can smell.
-
Wet: Chocolate (more like cocoa powder), chili pepper, and clove. Spicy chocolate! Dry: I'd say this is fairly similar to the wet stage... only spicier. I'm definitely amping up the chili pepper note. There's a very slight plastic note popping up as well.. maybe from the chocolate? I'm a bit disappointed the pistachio note didn't appear at all. Not my thing, but I'm glad I tried it!

Wet: Strawberry candy! Not getting any gingerbread yet. Dry: Still strawberry candy. Gingerbread.. where are you?! I love strawberry scents, but I wanted that gingerbread to appear!
-
Wet: Honey musk, amber, and a hint of peach. (Reminds me a little of "O", plus peach.) Dry: Peachy-honey musk, and amber. It's sweet, but nothing candy-like. While on the lighter side, it's quite pretty! (I wish I could smell almond, though.) If O and Lady Una had a baby, it might smell like this. (Or maybe O and Aglaea?)

[No additional description provided.] Strong ginger upon first spray. As in, ginger that will go straight up your nose and make you sneeze for about a minute straight. THAT type of ginger. As it starts to dry, though... ohh. Caramel and ginger, with just a hint of dead leaves. I like it more than I thought I would! Keeper. edit: my boyfriend described this as smelling like "an Autumn candle". I'll take it!

I had to look up Ginjinha -- it's apparently some type of sour cherry liquor. Good to know! Wet: Starts out with the cherry liquor, a tad bit of almond, and some red musk. Dry: I'm getting kind of a rancid baby powder scent, plus cherries? Not sure what happened there, but it's not working with my skin chemistry.
-
Wet: Ohhh, this is such a bright, juicy citrus scent! The pink grapefruit is the strongest, with the mandarin following closely behind. Dry: Unfortunately, this is fading wicked fast on me. (Like after 30 minutes, it's almost gone.) The scent is the same as the wet stage, but it's just not nearly as strong. I really, REALLY enjoyed this scent, even though my skin ate it up. I think I'll end up adding it to a hair product; this scent will be perfect for summer!
-
Wet: Green tea and champaca blossom. Kind of like a floral green tea scent; heavy on the floral note. Dry: My skin has totally amped the champaca blossom and drowned out all the other notes, unfortunately. A tad bit soapy as well. Darn.
-
Wet: Sweet tobacco. No butterscotch yet! Dry: Hmm... still sweet tobacco. It never really translated to butterscotch on me, so it's a bit disappointing.

Violets, violets, and more violets. ... And baby powder. So, powdery violets. Not my thing.
