Wet: Woods. In a good way. A tiny bit of amber, maybe? Some sandalwood? I DON'T KNOW! Dry: Dang. Morphed into a bad woods scent. Cedar, is that you? Dangit. 1/5

Wet: SHARP cologne! And a woodsy background. Dry: Alright, the cologne scent is burned off. This scent is woods, to the max. Pretty sure I can detect some cedar in this. Fairly masculine. Not really a "me" scent. 1/5

Wet: Peony! Bright, and fresh. Non-soapy. Gorgeous. Dry: My skin has mostly eaten this. Siiiiigh. I wish it would stay in the wet stage forever. If I keep this, I'll need to use it in a scent locket. 3/5

Wet: White chocolate... and flowers! They compliment each other beautifully. I'm loving this, and I'm not a big fan of florals. I detect a bit of honey, too. Dry: Creamy florals, with just a hint of white chocolate. This is lovely. I think the white chocolate and honey are keeping the florals from going soapy on my skin. 4/5

Wet: Tobacco flower and linen! This has fresh, clean feeling to it. I dig it. Dry: This faded fast on me. It's now a very, very light tobacco scent, with linen being dominant. It's very nice, but not for me. 2/5

Old books... Books, paper, libraries
donkehpoo replied to supervillainess's topic in Recommendations
The first scent to pop into my head; Clio! If you can get ahold of any, that is. I cherish my one imp I have. Her scent is the warm, dry parchment of scrolls, lavender for critical thought and analysis, the solidity of heavy woods, ornery patchouli and glib benzoin, and superstar-splashed orange and amber. -
Wet: Very light, candied fruits... with something a bit powdery. I wish this was stronger so I could smell it better! Dry: Unfortunately, my skin ate this. A bit disappointing... based on the description, this had potential! 1/5

Wet: GAH. In-your-face-rose with chamomile. Dry: Yep. What 90% of the blends I've tried with rose in it do... mega powdery, with a soapy background. 1/5 If rose works well on your skin, I'd give this a try. Rose just happens to be one of my notes of death.

Wet: An old woman stomping around in her garden. What is that? Jasmine? Gardenia? As well as something strongly herbal... Dry: Yep. An old woman who rolled around in her flowers. The herbal scent is gone, but this is still.. well... no me gusta. I wouldn't try this unless strong florals work well on your skin. 1/5

Wet: Mmmmm. Sweet almond. This reminds me a bit of Lush's Snowcake, which is one of my favorite Lush scents! Dry: Snowcake. The almond has calmed down and the scent is fairly lighter now, but this is total Snowcake deliciousness on my skin. Creamy and wonderful. If you're into milk and honey scents, you should definitely give this a shot. 5/5

Wet: I definitely smell something "golden". There's something lurking in the background that smells like cedar, though, which I'm not a big fan of... Dry: A very, very faint woodsy scent... with a tiny bit of amber? This basically disappeared on my skin. 2/5

Wad Of Chewed Up Strawberry Bubblegum
donkehpoo replied to angelicruin's topic in Black Phoenix Trading Post
Wet: Sickly sweet pink bubblegum! Dry: This is amazing! I can smell that white powder that's on those big pieces of pink gum. The scent has definitely mellowed down a bit, in a good way. I can't see myself wearing this really, but I think I'll keep it around. 3/5 -
Wet: .... Uh? Hello? Is anyone there? This does NOT show up on my skin wet, at ALL! Dry: Oh, there you are! This is a sweet musky scent, with a touch of fruit in the background. I wish the fruits were a bit more dominant, but it's still a great blend. I'm just not sure how "me" this scent is... I need to decide whether I want to keep this or not. 3.5/5

Wet: STRAWBERRY! Not the sickly-sweet fake strawberry, either. This is a true juicy strawberry. Dry: It's faded a bit.. but it's still amazing. A sweet strawberry, with a hint of green grass. I wish the scent was a bit stronger, but that just means I'll be slathering this. 4/5

(2008 Version) Wet: Cake and anise. Dry: I was hoping that anise would stick to the background... but on my skin, it's the star of the show. It's so strong, that this is almost a single note anise blend on me. Definitely not for me. 2/5

Wet: Smokey and woodsy, with a hint of sweetness in the background. Dry: Smokey apple cider. Not bad, but I'll stick to Samhain for an apple cider scent. 3/5
-
(2007 Version) Wet: An in-your-face rose, with a lot of musk. Dry: A heavy floral. Rose and gardenia are the easiest notes to pick out, along with the musk. It almost has a woodsy quality to it. I'm not getting any vanilla or blood orange out of this, which I'm kind of bummed about. This scent is lovely, just not for me. 3/5

(2007 Version) Wet: LEMON! And tea. Strong and yummy! Dry: The lemon is a very faint note in the background now. Instead of being a strong lemon scent with a hint of tea, this is now a strong tea with a hint of lemon. (... Even though lemon isn't a listed ingredient in this blend. Where is it coming from?!) I could wear this to work without fearing it would be too strong, but know I'd still smell great as well. Winner! 4/5

Wet: Light florals, and musk. Dry: My skin has almost completely eaten this scent. It's a shame really, because the scent is lovely. I can faintly smell a light floral, with a slightly musky background. I think I can pick out the sandalwood, as well. This is one of those rare floral blends that does NOT turn to soap on my skin. 3/5 Lovely, but I won't be holding on to it.

Wet: Sweet, tropical flowers. Dry: I'm getting a faint smell of tropical flowers; I don't detect any fruit at all. Not to mention, these flowers are NOT turning soapy on my skin! That rarely happens! I can picture wearing this during the summer with a pina colada in hand. 4/5

(2008 Version) Wet: I think I just got punched in the face by musk and booze. Dry: Musky, boozy... baby powder. My skin almost completely ate this scent! I wasn't a big fan of the booze notes though, so I'm not TOO upset by this. I'm sure someone else will appreciate this more than me. 2/5

(2008 Version) Wet: Very light musk and honey. Dry: Well HELLO! On me, this smells like it could be Snake Oil's younger, sweeter cousin. The amber and musk are doing amazing things on my skin. It's gorgeous. 4/5 Only complaint? I wish it lasted longer. But for this blend, I will gladly re-apply throughout the day.

Wet: Uh.. I applied this, didn't I? I have a tiny wet spot on my wrist.. but I can't smell ANYTHING. Dry: Oooohhh, there it is. I would describe this scent as light, fluffy flowers. (I'm not sure how a flower can be fluffy, but it is.) This doesn't turn soapy on me at all, which is amazing. However... I was told I smelled like an old woman when I wore this, so I won't be holding on to the bottle. I'd give this a 3/5. I have no doubt that this would smell amazing on the right person!

Wet: I can smell cream more than anything.. with a bit of plastic in the background. Uhoh... Dry: Plastic has disappeared! I'm smelling strawberries and vanilla more than anything. Well, actually, it's more like vanilla with a hint of strawberries. Gorgeous. The scent is very light on me.. which just means I'll have to slather. I'll give this a 4/5. Yum!

Wet: I can faintly smell a bit of rose. Dry: Rose, rose, and more rose. With an undertone of.. something I can't really describe. Smokey, almost. [Helpful, right?] I amp rose like it's nobody's business. However.. usually rose turns to rose + soap on me, and this blend does not. On a scale of 1-5, I'd give this a 2.5. I'm hoping that the other notes will start to show themselves after a little bit of aging.
