bottle: like chocolate and caramel pipe smoke. wet: this smells really weird on me. i don't seem to be getting any pumpkin from this and the remaining scents are a bit of a disaster on me. they don't smell exactly bad, just like a great dessert gone horribly, horribly wrong. dry: the whole scent has gone up in smoke and i smell like over-roasted cocoa beans. and it doesn't seem to be fading. alas, we were not meant to be. Pumpkin with pear, white wine grapes, and jasmine-laced tea. bottle: this is all pumpkin and pear. i don't smell the jasmine tea scent at all. wet: lovely. i can smell the white grape and pear very well but the pumpkin seems to have receeded. oops, nope, here it comes again. this is nice and complex on me and smells like some lovely sort of candy. dry: yum. sweet pumpkin. i think it's the white grape that's making it smell particularly yummy.

imp: i think sleek violet describes this well. wet: oooh! wet lemony violets. dry: back to violet. very soft violet. there is something in the back that is still lemony but it's too far away. what a very nice blend, i'm glad i decided to get the pumpkin plunder so i could try this one out. it's playing nice with all the pumpkins in the patch as well...

imp: something like cherry tootsie rolls. wet: the sandalwood and patchouli come out and smell sweeter on me than usual. but there's more to it than that... dry: ooh! ooh! ooh! now it smells all ambery! kinda like chocolately amber. very unusual. i just cannot stop sniffing this. i think i may have to order a bottle.

imp: sharp citrus. this almost smelled too sharp to try but as i like to try everything at least once... wet: yummy soft lime. this sort of reminded me of lime popsicles. not a scent i was expecting, but soooooo pleasing... dry: this faded too quickly, i wanted to smell like limes a bit longer! this started to remind me of limeade at the very last. this is a far lovlier scent than i had first thought. bottle: sweet patchouli. i don't think i would have ever guessed it was apricot. wet: pretty much the same, sweet & spicy patchouli. dry: again, pretty much the same. the sweetness has faded somewhat but is still present. this is a remarkable scent, exactly what a patchouli scent should be. it was the first bpal scent i ever smelled and the first 5ml bottle i bought. when i first wore it my husband hated it but nowadays he has just appropriated my new bottle from my most recent order. he said it really grew on him.

bottle: oranges. well, not really oranges, more like tangerines. juicy tangerines. wet: this smells like yummy tangerine candy on me. dry: still tangeriney. there is a sort of earthy note that doesn't smell like fig to me but doesn't seem to have any other explanation. i absolutely love this scent. i only wear it when i plan to be dressed in only white because it smells like a very 'white' scent to me.

i just recently got my guy hooked on bpal. he's been putting up with my ever-increasing orders for a while now and i finally started selecting imps for him. his absolute favourite is umbra, i just ordered him two more bottles. he also wears nephilim, al-shairan, satyr, himerus and zombi. then, he jacked my brand new bottle of depraved (which is hilarious because when i first put in on he said it "reeked" and now he's stolen my new bottle) and my bottle of penny dreadful. i just ordered him an imp of plunder and a bottle of crowley, i hope they work out for him.

bottle: wet, sexy apples and bananas with a slathering of coconut. this blend smells so suggestive to me... like a really subtle, really dirty joke. wet: the banana hits right away and then is completely gone in a few minutes while the coconut and apple seem to vy against the pineapple. this is a most confusing scent because it seems like everything in it makes an appearance at some point when i first put in on. it's like a crazy party full of all sorts of interesting guests. dry: i think the party metaphor is apt, all the guests have gone and there's just the detritus of a fantastic party left behind. the pineapple and coconut are the last lingering wisps. this is one of my top two favourites (imp is the other). this scent puts me in such a happy, bubbly mood. and when it gets on my clothes the lingering scent is so dreamy.

bottle: pumpkin cheesecake but with mounds of whipped cream, gooey marshmallow and syrup all over it. it smelled so sweet i wasn't sure it would smell good on me. wet: it smelled just like spicy pumpkin pie. dry: i could smell the graham crackery bit with the spices. faint but still nice. this arrived on the same day as my bpal order full of pumpkin plunder. it was a very pumpkiny day for me .

bottle: sticky, bitter apples with something kind of tangy. very pleasing. wet: it's apply with something else... something woodsy or spooky. this puts me in mind of antique perfumes that have sat for so many decades, some scents strengthening, some weakening so the effect is unusual and alluring. apple scents always do well on me and this is one of my head-turners. dry: dusty apples. or, perhaps, the memory of apples long gone.

bottle: wet, fruity booze. as soon as i first smelled this scent i knew i would buy it (and buy it again... and again...) it's quite alluring. wet: the amaretto and plum rise and warm and suddenly everyone in the room is trying to tell who or what smells so good. dry: faded amaretto and wine. the fruit is just a hint at this point. on my wrist it smells much more amaretto-y. under my clothes the scent still has a touch of fruit vying with the amaretto. this is one of my all-time favourites. it is probably the scent i wear most often because i almost always wear it to kendo practice so i smell sweet instead of sweaty. and it gets tons of attention: from a sensei who walked around the class sniffing until he cornered me to one of me senpai who turned to me and asked: "so, what is that? patchouli?" (!) i'm always raising eyebrows when i tell someone it's caled 'bordello'. ADDED Aug. 14: bottle: very boozy amaretto and wine. this just grabs your nose! wet: yummy plum and amaretto. i could bathe in this scent! dry: this goes to a very soft plum and wine scent. very evocative of it's name!

imp: i thought of almont extract with a warm spiciness behind it. it so reminded me of baking cookies and perhaps that is what made it seem so harmless... i dabbed a teensy bit onto each elbow and suddenly it went from warm almond to... wet: CINNAMON FIRE! i was off and running for the bathroom where just as i was cranking the water on to rinse it all off my husband turns to me and says: "wow! that smells great!" (why can't he say that about the non-agonizing scents?) dry: never got the chance. so yep, inferno is aptly named, set my skin on fire and left angry pink welts on my elbows. it smells divine, it's just bottled hell on me. imp: heady peachy musk. far more flowery than fruity. (i had to try this while my husband was out of the house because he gags when he smells peaches) wet: the peach came out strong with the amber and everything else disappeared. (good thing he's still out) dry: the peach mellowed out then faded to let the warm amber through. after a few hours it was mainly amber and musk with the braest remembrance of something peachy. the myrtle stayed in the background throughout. (let's see if he notices it when he gets home...) (edit: he didn't mention a word about the peachy smell, told me it smelled 'nice' and i'm off to buy a bottle or two!)

imp: apples, apples, apples. this transported me back to childhood autumns where i picked apples by the bucketfull and then hunkered down to eat them all. wet: ultra-sweet apple, tickled by something warm and green. dry: the apples went more mellow and blended in to something more apple-flowery. all evening i was smelling the faintest hint of sweet apple on my skin, even six hours after i applied it. my husband thought it was way too flowery/fruity then ended up telling me it smelled much better once it "mellowed out". this is a definite yes for me. i love apple scents anyway but this one has de-throned even poisoned apple. and, just for the record, this my first post/review. yay! (edited to change 'bottle' to 'imp')
