It's possible that the Lab's e-mail service has a new spam filter that needs fine-tuning. If your e-mail is, say yahoo.com or gmail.com or similar, or if it goes through some kind of "bounce", the filter may define those as suspicious. My work e-mail has segregated virtually every e-mail I've received from one of my professional societies since last August because of the way they route their outgoing e-mails. nope, i run my own mail server. it's like ten feet away from me. but, yeah, we were thinking they must have recently upgraded their spam filter.

this is new: i've been trying to contact the lab for a few days now to ask them a question about an oil but my email keeps getting bounced back with this message: The following recipient(s) could not be reached: answers@blackphoenixalchemylab.com Error Type: SMTP Remote server (67.21.112.10) issued an error. hMailServer sent: . Remote server replied: 554 5.7.1 Mail (36283-03960) appears to be unsolicited - MessageScore (62) over limit (50) - send error reports to postmaster@blackphoenixalchemylab.com so... the bpal e-mail server thinks my e-mail is spam? sorta funny, except i would really like to contact them. this has not happened to me in the past when i've contacted them with a very brief e-mail. so who do i e-mail when my e-mail keeps getting bounced back?

wow! thank you angelicruin!

imp: a very misty rose scent. wet: this scent never had a chance on my skin. this transforms into the most jarring, screeching rose perfume. guaranteed to make you cough because i am amping it to the heavens. dry: this is powdery rather than soapy for once but still... my skin hates rose scents no matter how much i try to love them.

shango has gotten me more compliments than any other oil i've ever worn.

that sounds beautiful! -
lampades is a great rec, paperrose. i find it very similar to the fruit of paradise (recommended by london) so either of those might be good choices. plus, i love them both so the more love, the better!

i adore kabuki but it seems like a much more dark and brooding scent. more darkly sexy than fun sexy. but it might feel different on your skin. the more love for kabuki, the better! -
agapē or high-strung daisies perhaps?

wow. i just tried on a dab of the dodo that came to me as a recent frimp from the lab... and... in the past, all my imps (and my current bottle) have had a pleasant dose of cassia but nothing overpowering. this one, however, started out as an agony of overwhelming cassia. i'm got pink welts to show for it. now i can smell the rest of the scent but wow. cassia overload.

i was going to say bordello, eat me or jailbait! -
bottle: a beautiful syrupy floral. possibly the cactus blossom. this is the 2007 version. wet: very sweet and bright, almost sharp when i stick my nose against my skin. i get the same very sweet floral scent with a faint backdrop of foody goodness. dry: i'm starting to get a bit of the incense, it's calming the in-your-face sweetness of the floral. a very interesting scent.

bottle: amber and peach, this sort of reminds me of tamora but with a bit of tea. wet: beautiful! spicy sweet tea and peach with an amber backdrop. so pretty! dry: spicy floral tea. no peach to speak of just a beautiful bright tea scent. probably my favorite tea scent from bpal yet.

bottle: very dark musk, sandalwood and vetiver. wet: the rose wants to ruin this scent so badly but it just can't seem to overpower the musk and vetiver on my skin. dry: the rose is giving this a bit of sharpness rather than soapiness. i redit the musk and sandalwood with keeping the rose in line. my beloved vetiver is nowhere to be seen though...

bottle: very, very sweet vanilla and tonka with a touch of woodsy floral. wet: this is a bit more floral once applied... but then it just vanishes! all the vanilla and wood just disappear leaving only a faint sweet floral. dry: as this dries the notes re-emerge, this is more of a sweet, creamy wood scent on my skin. not much throw but decent staying power.

bottle: very sweet aquatic. wet: freesia and aquatic. i would never have guessed that i would like such a scnet but i find myself very taken with it. dry: this dries to a silky soft freesia scent with a gentle watery note that is too ethereal to call "aquatic". much nicer than expected.

agreed. and i don't even like room sprays that much!

sturgeon moon smells very much like wet grasses to me.

a bold bluff would be a good choice as well. good call beachbabealways.

earth phoenix smells just like rich cavendish tobacco. in fact the first time i smelled it i went over to do a side-by-side sniff with a container of my husband's tobacco. it's a dead-ringer and has a cherry note.

imp: strong on the booze, light on the grape. wet: this smells very strongly boozy while the faint waft of grape remains. not bad but somewhat odd. dry: as the grape fades, this smells more and more like actual wine, not wine and grape kool-aid. i think this might be an ideal layering scent.
-
imp: whoa! this smells very strongly lemony! wet: it takes a while for any other scent besides lemon to come out but after a while, it turned to a sweet, lemon-spice scent. not at all what i was expecting. this doesn't really smell like cubeb to me but i suppose that's what smells so lemony. dry: this dries to the pure, uncut scent of lemonheads... sweet, sweet lemon.
-
imp: creamy banana. i'm in love! wet: this is a little artificial smelling when first applied, but that fades quickly to a very creamy, rich banana scent. dry: this is more cream and graham-cracker crust as it dries, just a touch of banana left. i love it.
-
imp: pine pitch and honey. wet: gorgeous! this is very brilliantly spicy (not hot spicy) with such a thick layer of vanilla and musk ... needless to say, i love it. dry: as this dries, it turns to the most wonderfully blended scent. so well-blended i can barely distinguish the different notes. i will be needing a bottle!

i always say LAY-don. but now i realize i've never bothered to look this one up...
