I got this in a bunch of GCs that I decided to try, and I like it. The initial sweetness of the apricot calms after a while, and the clove comes out. It is a little Yankee-candle-y, but I like it. Not enough to buy a bottle, but I'll use my imp.

I hate for there to be two "perfumey" reviews right in a row, but that was my initial impression on applying this. In the bottle, it's a lovely, rich apple. Once on, it's like that also, and for a moment it reminds me of Samhain (that sweet, pipe-tobacco-ey note). But really, all I keep thinking is "apple perfume". It's a lovely apple perfume, though!

I got my hands on a precious half-imp of this to try to decide if I loved it enough to invest in a bottle. Oh, yes. Yes I did. Here's the thing. Both honeys are gorgeous, but they're different. One is dark, deep and complex, almost musky, with phenomenal wearlength. The other is bright and clear, still complex, but with much shorter wearlength. Two wonderful honeys, and I'll keep them both, but of course, the one I prefer (the darker one) is the one I only have a half-imp of! Lovely stuff!

Oh. Oh.Oh. This is gorgeous. Pomegranate, tobacco, and patchouli. Dark, dirty, sophisticated, slightly sweet. Sniffing close to the skin,I can smell the vanilla, and my first application dried after about 3-4 hours to a woody vanilla/patchouli. The throw isn't huge, but I didn't slather because I only have one precious imp! Can't stop sniffing this, though. Delicious! The quest for a bottle begins!

When I first put this on, I really didn't like it. It was all lemon balm, which I spend most summers weeding from my garden. Sharp, lemony, citronella-y. Ugh. But!! After just a few minutes it softens . The lemon lightens to a hint, and I guess it's the hay absolute, kicks in. It's lovely, sunny, summery, warm! A teeny bit soapy, but it feels childlike and joyful to me. I'll wear this again (with less trepidation!).

Stimulating Sassafras Strengthener

This starts out on me as root beer & cream, then the cream goes away, the root beer mellows, and there's a bitter, metallic scent. Not sure I'm liking this one. -
Okay, this one is SO weird on me! Right after application, the throw is "barroom", that "old beer" atmosphere. And it alternates with powder! Near the skin it's an absolutely gorgeous honey! I reapplied just to check, and it happened again, but less distinctly on both counts (the beer/powder) which is excellent, because I would have suffered through it anyway for this gorgeous honey! It's full and round and deep....mmmmmm!!! Definitely a keeper! Love it!!

This is lovely! Bright floral - I guess it's the freesia. Very full and light. After a bit the brightness fades and I get just the slightest hint of powder. Unfortunately I don't get any herbs at all - I was looking forward to the thyme! Very pretty, though.

At first this one is heeeavy on the amber & honey. Dark men's scent. It gets very interesting after a few mintes, though. First the wood shows up, then the leather, and the heaviness calms down a bit. I keep sniffing it - it's just so interesting. I really didn't like it at first, and I probably wouldn't wear it, but I'll probably gift it to a (male) friend!

I think I'll have to try this one again after looking at other reviews. On me, initially, it's almost not there. Then a whisper of, I guess the parchment. It's dry, light, slightly woody. After a few minutes it goes to all wood. Cedar shavings. And stays that way. Hmm. Maybe I was having a weird body chemistry day...

On me this is a lovely, creamy pineapple. I get depth with the mandarin and a wee bit of rum - it rounds it out and sweetens it. After an hour or two, there is a brief "Yankee candle" transition as it mellows, but it's not too pronounced, and it doesn't last. Finally, I wind up with a vanilla-y scent. Maybe the last of the caramelly rum? Not sure, but I really like it! And the throw is better than most fruity scents on me.

Yes, yes, yes! My favorite lab chocolate, hands down! It's got the dark, the sweet, the fudgy...delish!!

Finally got my hands on an imp of this, and I have to say it's not what I'd expected. It's lovely, but I don't get any musk from it (not that that's a problem for me!). What I get reminds me a lot of Red Lantern without the coconut note. And I love Red Lantern (and I love the coconut note!). So not so special on that count. It turns into pure vanilla on me, and lasts forever. I like it, but there are things I like better!

Beltane 2008 seems to me to have fewer competing notes than the other vintages. I don't get mint - I get florals with an herb-y background. After a while it becomes more muted, and I can pick out lily of the valley predominating. It lasts a good long while, becoming more and more muted until I'm left finally with a floral incense scent. I like it, but it's not a fave.

This is one that I really wanted to like. I got an imp after falling in love with Sugar Moon, after a number of reviewers compared it to this. I like it well enough in the imp, though it doesn't at any point really remind me of Sugar Moon (well, maybe the musk...). I love lavender, so I liked that I could pick that up, and it was interesting, but after I put it on, it becomes Jean Nate!! Oh sadness!! I had to wash it off.

When I first applied this, I got a big hit of sharp, spicy ginger with the vanilla. After just a few minutes, though, the overall throw is of baby powder! The ginger has faded completely, and its just a mellow vanilla that reminds me of nothing as much as baby powder. It's not unpleasant, but it's not my favorite tiki.

Hope is gorgeous. My other favorite lab rose is London. This has that same distinctive tea rose scent, with the lovely sugary scent wrapped around it. It doesn't really blend into a single scent, it remains separate, but that's not a problem! It doesn't morph on me, either, and it lasts beautifully for hours. A winner!

I agree with Brianne, it's very tart and bright. On me, this is almost all grapefruit - the tart rind. I get a little bit of the ginger, and maybe the booze is what mellows it after a bit. It goes creamy, but doesn't last long at all for me. I'll definitely try it again, because it's bright and fresh and I love it!!
-
On me, initially, this is a lovely, very bright, lemon lime (mostly lime) with a creamy undertone of floral. After a few minutes, it becomes all lime. Really fresh and bright! A bit later, it goes to the creamy scent, and the citrus tones down and blends. It's not my favorite as a body scent, but it's really lovely!

I get the coconut & pineapple & a creamy vanilla initially. Just lovely! After a few minutes, it starts to heat up, with the spiced rum coming to the fore. Unfortunately, a few more minutes and it's starting to all Yankee Candle on me!! Maybe if I wait a little longer... ETA: A little more sniffing, and a quick look at Heavenlyrabbit's review, and I am definitely getting a cinnamon note. Specifically, a Trident Cinnamon gum note!!! Rats!!!

Sorry to have to say that this REALLY didn't work for me. I was looking forward to trying this. I'm not a particularly foodie sniffer, but there are scents that I love in that category. This, though, went to high-butter and screaming berry on me and I had to wash it off! Yes, my wallet sighs in relief.....!!
-
This is the happiest scent I own!! It's bright and sunshiney, perfect for a spring day! If only it lasted longer I don't really pick out any scent in particular, though I love the lab's grapefruit and cherry, & if you'd asked me, I'd have called this a floral, but...
-
Mmmmm.... I get a bit of that deep caramel scent, almost burnt, but I think it's deepened by the mahogany. There are florals under there, but this goes to strawberry and a bit of violet on me. Gorgeous and seductive, with good throw and long lasting!
-
I probably shouldn't look at others' reviews before writing my own, but I've got to admit that these have got me stumped! In the imp, I get a soft, warm sweetness rounded by a hint of resin. On, it's honey & resin? Soft, deep, and lovely. After a few minutes it went through an herbal-y phase, but it passed, and now it's a honey jasmine! Now, I was wearing Siren yesterday, so maybe there's just a hint there that's being amped, but overall, I love it! The differences in everyone's reviews make me kind of apprehensive of looking for more, though!!

Okay, I think the overriding note I get is the molasses. At first it was heavy on the caramel, with a whiff of booze, then it deepened to an almost burnt caramel. I like it, but I think an imp will be enough.
