Roadhouse is a VERY grassy scent. But, more like grass in the middle of summer on a dry day. Very hay/grass/dandilion kind of scent. However, I do get a TON of hops from it, so it does make one smell a bit "beerish" as well. I got some grass from the Unicorn, but I got mostly white flowers from that one. Wish I could be more helpful.

Oooh, I forgot about Dana. Need a bottle of that, too. It's amazing how Fae make me think of Springtime....*wistful sigh* Although I am in Chicago and will be lucky to see a spring...
-
Dorian, Embalming Fluid, Morgause (for a sexy spring evening), Phantom Queen, Desdemona (although I personally do not like it) and I'm betting Maiden would be AWESOME (which is why I will probably be buying a bottle unsniffed for spring).

Spooky and I, sadly, had to part ways. On both me and DH, we got an awesome mint-cookie-with-coconut-crunch smell and then WHAMMO..."Skin Trip" body lotion. Just too coco-nutty for my tastes.

DH got this in a sale off the boards, and wow wow wowie wow wow, is it sexy on him. In the imp: Spicey-boozey-leather-sexy. This one's gonna be good, I know it. On: Okay, this one is interesting because I do not get any one note prevailing at one time. It is very well-blended and makes a sort of "new" smell. I get the clove and bourbon a bit stronger at times, but mostly this is just a gorgous, complex, almost masculine (not totally, though, I could see a sexy chica wearing this one, too!) scent. Dry: The citrus comes out a bit more here as does the musk. The spices and incense notes still prevail, while the bourbon just gives it a fullness that is just mmmmmm... FOr some reason, this blend makes me want to grind with my dh to Godsmack's "Voodoo". It's just so...dirty and sexy. Fuck, this rocks!

Hubby got this as a gimp from a forumite. At first, this was very "hot apple cider" in the imp. On: Spicey, tart, apple cider. Very comforting. I get a small whiff of autumn leaves and a bit of the pear. Dry: Florals come out here, the apple-fruity-scent goes poof. This was a morpher on me. Although the fruits lend some sweetness, I get a very full-bodied, robust, spicey floral from this one. OVerall: Not me, as I don't really love the florals too much. I would highly recommend it to someone who was looking for a very complex fruit/floral blend, however.

Wow, this is leather, BLACK leather. This is the leather of a gun-slinger's gun belt. It is very sinister and yet comforting at the same time. I have always adored the smell of leather. I agree this has a richness about it which brings to mind pricey leather gloves and soft, calf-skin jackets. Gorgeous, and truly sexy on a man, believe me!

Hubby got this from e-bay and I'm glad he did. In the bottle: Brown sugar, butter and roasted chestnuts...mmmmm. On: Delish! This smells EXACTLY like candied roasted chestnuts. This is so yummy on, really! I can't smell anything but those two delicious notes wet. Dry: The pine/cedar smoke pokes its head out and comes to the forefront for a millisecond and then recedes behind the buttery-sweet-chestnut-smell. THis honestly smells like a fireplace where someone is roasting chestnuts. IT's amazing and very comforting!! Overall: I'm very happy DH got this off e-bay. It's wonderful. So delish, yet enough of a non-foody note to keep it from getting headachingly sweet.

I have been such a bad girl, I needed a good, sound spanking. Can I just say I LOVE this stuffies? In the bottle: Spice and an undernote of leather. This reminds me of Sin, somewhat, for some reason. On: Oh wow! The spices go NUTS on me and create this swirling dervish of delightful spiceyness! Shit, this is awesome. It's so heady, it should be illegal. Dry: I get the same thing Scylla does: this morphs into a leather and bourbon scent and this is HOT! I'm totally loving this one and I am EVER so happy I got it. Overall, I think I'll have to guard this LE with my life as DH has already pilfered it. (It's okay, I'll be stealing his Baron hoodie before long...heh!) This is a very sultry, thrilling scent. It reminds me of when I was a pro-domme. I used to have a perfume oil purveyor here in Chitown make a blend for me which had spices and pumpkin in it. Often, the pumpkin would vanish, leaving me with heady spices. This reminds me of what my leather corset used to smell like...as well as my barber's strap. Memories....light the corners of my mind...scented, naughty memories, of the way your bum burned...

I touched this to my skin, and I got nothing but ALL jasmine ALL the time. My skin loves the jasmine more than I do, I guess. I had to wash this off immediately. If you are a bit timid of heavily jasmine scents, I will suggest you stay away from this one.

Ooh, hello top ten...sorry, some of you rested on your laurels and have to be replaced!! That said, this is now one of my new faves! DH got it in a swap on the LJ. Imp: Cocoa, bittersweet cocoa and something boozy underneath. There is also a slight "tang" of something more sinister. On: This is all cocoa and booze at first. Wine, liqour and cocoa, what the hell is not to like??? I adore this, for certain. There is still the underlying acrid note which makes this special. It is foody for the foodies who want something more...diabolically gourmet. This is not for the faint of heart. Dry: This one lasts and lasts. I get TONS of throw and it's wonderfully sexy, believe me. The notes mellow out a bit, but they are pretty much the same. Overall, bottle purchase, for sure.

Got this from a generous forumite in a sale/swap. Imp: This is slightly salty and malevolently playful. Hmm...I'm intrigued. On (wet): HELLO Ozone. I usually hate, nay loathe, ozone scents, but this one works extremely well on my hubby. There is a slight hint of patchouli, and the floral is a lovely one. This is dead-on with what I would expect Oberon to smell like. Dry: As a student of drama (way back in my heady days), I used to use perfume to create a scent for the character I was playing...to help bring her to life. Oh, Beth, if only you had been around when I was playing Ophelia way, way back in the day... This scent is SO perfect. The light flower (orchid, I believe?), the herbal-greeness of the juniper and bergamot...down to the playful sexuality of the musk and tinge of malevolence lent by the patchouli. Overall, I think this is a nice men's scent. I would not wear this myself, but it does smell great on DH. I think I'll keep it and make him wear it when he's feeling petty. (The imp will be gone fairly quickly, methinks.)

Hmm...I was a bit afraid to try this one out b/c all dragon's blood blends have not agreed with my chemistry thus far. That said, this one and I (despite my on-and-off-again relationship with vetivert) did not work. It was just too much. I must say the sweetness of the dragon's blood was tempered by the vetivert nicely. The spice is a nice touch. But, it just wasn't me.
-
Imp: WOOD! Specifically, piney-wood. There is something underneath that is kind of smokey, and definitely an acrid note in there somewhere. On: PINE and vetivert. The vetivert gives this scent a very "burning" pine feel. Neat, but not really something I wanna smell like. Might be a groovey room scent, though. I didn't let this get dry, I had to wipe it off. It was far too strong for me and it made me a bit dizzy.
-
Imp: Fiery and resins galore. This is a fiesty scent, to be sure. On (wet): Ouch! This one is so fiesty, it burns. The cinnamon and the dragon's blood are fighting for dominance at this stage. This is a very potent blend with LOTS of throw. The musk is also prevalent at this stage, but not so much as the other two. Dry: This smolders on me. Reminds me of hot coals in winter. The cinnamon dies down a bit, leaving sweet dragon's blood and musk as the main notes, the vetivert adding a bit of a nose-twitching piquancy and the patchouli grounding this blend so it doesn't go completely inferno. Overall, I gifted this puppy to one of my best friends. It didn't really work for me or my hubby. It was FAR too hot for our tastes. It does bring to mind the Scottish tribes and their penchant for goading themselves into a frenzied bloodlust prior to battle. Very hot, searing scent. Just not me.

This is an AWESOME male scent. All men should have this one stashed away for a particularly wicked day of office politics. That said... Imp: Sharp! Oh, this cuts like a knife. I can tell I'm going to love this on the DH already. On (DH): This is a very herbal, yet not totally clean, scent. It is evocative of a very wicked, wicked man. Not the bad boy with the heart of gold...no! This is the good boy with underlying evil. So evil he is eveeeil. Drydown: Oh yes, this is fargin' sexay. There is a creamyness to this scent that was not apparant before. I can see Nero smelling of this as he played his violin. Overall: Big bottle for DH, no doubt. ALL men should have a small bottle of this for days when they are feeling black-hearted, mean-spirited and downright evil. Beth, you have done it again!
-
This is a very clean, sweet man's blend. Quite herby. I tried it myself and had to wash it off, it was far too masculine. This would be a good oil to introduce more "traditional cologne"-loving guys to. I would think this would go well in an imp pack with Valmont, Dee, and Jolly Roger. I much prefer the gents to smell more spicey and slightly foody. This would most certainly work with gents who prefer the cleaner smellies! DH will be keeping it, as he likes it for a change at the office. I don't think it will be a big bottle purchase, though, as he's met far too many smellies since which peak his interest.

Oh how sad. I told my husband he would have wanted this way back when it was an Oblation scent. And now...it is gone. And I am sad. Anyway...got this in a swap (an imp, sniff, sniff.) In the imp: Green, but a soft, deep green. Like the rolling hills of Ireland. On: Oooh, light musk with sweet green herbs and moss. This is truly a lovely scent. There is just enough blossom to keep it from going totally masculine. Very unisex and lovely. Dry: The musk has poked out his head, and it is a very light musk. Very skin-like. I imagine a pretty Irish lad smelling like this. Overall: I am very sad I did not go with my gut and order a bottle of this while it was still available. Gorgeous. Really gorgeous.

Ah, this is something i have wanted to try for a while. In the imp: smokey, moist and floral. I get a lot of gardenia or other such exotic bloom from this. On (wet): Smokey, sweet, FLORAL. Yes, this is a hot, bloomy, steamy scent. This brings to mind what a succubus might wear as she lay next to a spent, human lover in July in New Orleans. (HA! How's that for an analogy.) Dry: Still with the very tropical floral. This is NOT what I would call sweet...it is lacivious. A very naughty floral. This is NOT grandma's perfume, to be sure. Overall: Not my deal, but gorgeous none the less. I've swapped it away already, and I hope she has found a good home, my Belle from Hell.

Frimp from the labbies. In the imp, this reminds me of the church pews of St. Mary's church in my home town. The scent of pontifical incense, indeed! On: I am beginning to think I might not necessarily be an "Incensey" chica. This is ALL frankinsence on me. Very dry, and rather dusty. Dry: Yeah, I'm not an "incensey" chica. I want to be, really! Again, this is pure, resinous love. Overall: This is for the ladies and gents who can appreciate incense on its own. Unfortunately, I am not one of those peoples.
-
In the imp: the expensive potpourri my mother used to scent her home with. She got it at this place that hand-mixed it. It's lovely, and definitely NOT an insult. On: BERRIES! Purple, ripe, very tart and sweet at the same time. This is a kind of blackberry smell. Very juicy, yet dark. Not what I really like smelling like, but it's nice nonetheless. Dry: A bit of an herbal scent comes into play, making this scent remind me of an almost bayberry-ish scent. Still purple, still lovely, yet sadly, still not me. Reached desired effect esotericly?: YES. I used this during finals last term when I had to write three essays in three days (ah, procrastination..) and it worked like a charm to keep me on task. I might like a candle of this...

Origin: gimp. In the imp: Very light floral with some woods underneath. I am already thinking that this is not going to work, but I have been snookered by my nose before. On me (wet): NOOOOOO! This immediately goes ROSE on me. Not in a good way, either. This is not just rose, this is Rose Nylund from the Golden Girls, on me. I really am beginning to hate my chemistry because I love the scent of roses, but I have only ever found ONE fragrance which featured them which I loved. Anyway...yes, my chemistry makes this one go "Sweet Old Ladyish" on me. Dry: Now, this is quite the turnaround. This went from Rose Nylund to sexy bitch in about an hour. This smells just like a rose incense I used to burn back in my heady college days to not only hide the smell of pot, but also to seduce the boys into buying me more. This is hot, sexy and...dare I say...wanton. Overall, I don't think I can get past the initial phase. I am afraid this one may make its way into the swaps and find a home with someone who will appreciate it more than I do. ETA, my grammar is shit.

Origin: Gimp from a forumite In the imp: Sunny, bright, almost-ripe lemons. There is a certain "greenness" to this scent. It is not a "green" scent in an herbal scent, but more of a citrusy-fresh green. I can tell already I'm going to love this one. On me (wet): Juicy, bright lemons. There is a hint of freshly brewed green tea and a tinge of spice which makes this blend just SO mmmm Drydown: The lemon dries up a bit and I am left with a scent which can only be described as my long-sought-after perfect "clean" scent. This is absolutely gorgeous and is going to bump into the top ten, for certain. Overall: A very bright, clean scent. This is perfect for the office or other such venues where a cleaner scent is warranted. Not girly, and not masculine...it's a perfect asexual scent. Bravo again, Beth!!

Origin: gimp from a forumite. In the imp: High-pitched orange blossom and darker, earthier tones. On me (wet): This smells just like Dracul in its early stages on me. The orange blossom is very dominating here with a little carnation to spice it up. There is something dark lurking in the background which serves to anchor the scent and keep it from getting too out of control and floral. Drydown: Hello, patchouli!! This scent goes dark on me after about an hour and it is lovely. It is as if the masquerade ball has come to an end and I am left in its aftermath in a drunken haze, my mind still swirling from a kiss from my brash lover. Overall: I am not sure if this will be a full bottle purchase, but I will enjoy the imp. Patchouli lovers, if you have not yet checked this one out, you should! Very dark, deep patchouli in this one. It's gorgeous!

I got this one in a swap-a-rama. In the imp: Flowers, lots of sweet, steamy florals. I have to wonder if this is what God's greenhouse smells like, heh. I am intimidated by the florals here, because I have a love-hate relationship with all things flowery. On: Why HELLO Apple Blossoms! It's been a while. Seriously, the first note I get is a very strong, crisp apple blossom note. However, the notes behind it keep it from being overly clean, there is definitely a sense of "defilement" in the background. Drydown: The rose, my perfume nemesis, sticks her head out for a second and I thought this was going to go south VERY quickly, but it didn't. This is like a bouquet of freshly-cut flowers thoroughly sexed up by ylang ylang and honey. Overall: Very pretty, sexy scent. I don't think it's "me" per se, but I don't think she needs a new home quite yet. Recommended for: Floral ladies who want something just a little sexy without going over the top.
