    Where is this scent?

I know the answer is going to be so simple that I'll feel silly, but does anyone know where to find a scent called "Oblivion"? I've done searches on the Lab site and the forum and can't find it.

    Tempest

I'm more excited about this oils than I have been about any other in a long time! It is my perfect clean water-spa scent and reminds me of clear Swiss lakes and streams. It is similar to Crabtree and Evelyn's La Source products.

    Pontarlier

I am immediately struck by the herbal quality of this blend. It reminds me of when I used to make my own herbal teas and crafts. Drying down, there is a bit of powdery sugar and finally a slight creaminess. I am definitely in love with this one.
  4. I guess the idea of "dark" would vary from person to person, but I would say Death Cap is dark to me, also Whip.

    Rain Scents

Penthus smalls like flowers in rain, but might lack the city component. Perhaps you should try Black Ice before it goes away, I have heard it has a wet asphalt feel to it.

Rose Recommendations - which blend is for me?

My favorite rose is Whip. It is rose with leather, and I do think the leather adds a sort of green freshness.

Looking for a BPAL similar to a Clinique Fragrance

I recently found that Clio is similar, but i haven't tested it on Mom yet!

    Fresh, wet, and/or green florals

Bayou and Jazz Funeral are both humid, green florals.

    Old Seaside Village?

I like Penthus for a seaside town scent, but it's more of a floral-aquatic, like a flower garden by the sea. Might be worth a try though!

What do bottles and labels look like?

I like the Yule labels. I think they are beautiful. I remember when all the labels were basically the same, and I was happy to receive them them as well. I'm just happy to get new blends, and if there is a unique label then that's a bonus!

    Aquatics

Obatala has a watery note, but is mostly coconut, so it sort of like a sexy day at the beach.

    Rain Scents

Pool of Tears is a rainy scent.
  13. Hm, I like rich, sticky and wet. Maybe I should be stalking resins and only those incenses made from resin.
  14. Ivyandpeony, thanks for the list! From that list, here is what stands out to me: GOOD on me: Jacob's Ladder Nefertiti Penitence Penthus Rose Cross Sin Snake Charmer Xiuhtecuhtli Katmandu Midnight Mass BAD on me: All Saints Bastet Dia de Los Muertos Gypsy Queen Haunted I'm starting to think that whatever works on me needs to have a little vanilla or amber to keep it from being too dry. But then again, i like Penitence, so who knows?
  15. Yes, I am definitely working on that! I do love Jacob's Ladder. You also have an interesting point about the frankincence, but I love Penitence, so hmmm... yep, I'll just have to continue trying everything!
  16. I love earthy, second-skin scents. I love warmth and mystery, like a room full of heavy drapes, golden light and dripping candles. (I hope that makes sense, I am very visual) I also like churchy scents. Anyway, I am always snapping up scents that are described as containing incense. However, some of it goes really bad on me. The two standout examples are Midnight on the Midway and Gypsy Queen. Both just went dusty. dry and soapy. What is it that is going wrong? Do you all think I should keep away from incense and look for just resin instead? Some favorites that have really worked for me are Penitence and Midnight Mass. Thanks!

Your Best-Bet "Must Try" Enabling Scents

I have had success with light and sweet scents for enabling (with a few exceptions for deeper, complex scents) I like using gC scents because they are readily available. Dana O'Shee Pele Alice Eat Me Snake Oil Ravenous O Antique Lace Shanghai Szepasszony Midnight Two, five and Seven

    Jolly Roger

Sea and wood. Like the deserted beach near my house with the rich aged wood remnants washed up. Definitely makes me think of a grand, creaky wood ship at sea. Lighter, more refined and less masculine than expected. For me this is a more wearable pirate scent than Anne Bonny.
  19. Persephone is a great fruity rose with that pomegranate note.

    Different smells/colors, same perfume

I can't smell Pele when I first put it on, but it seems to strengthen with body heat *shrug*

The most hippie / hippy scent you have tried?

Spellbound smells like a headshop in the best possible way.

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume

If you like Demeter Sugar Cane, you might like Dana O'Shee

    Lollia Cotton and Clover

It sounds like a bright, sweet floral. Delight might be worth a try, it is very heavy on the frangipani. Pele is a tropical floral that has pikake.
