This is hands down one of my favorite scents, if not my favorite! Granted, I like wooden scents, and they like me. Every wood-based scent I have tends to settle nicely on my skin. I'm not wild about rose, but for some reason other people seem to absolutely love it on me, so who am I to argue? I agree that this is an extremely dry scent. To me, it reminds me of crushed and dried rose petals inside an antique sandalwood box. The amber is definitely there, another good thing for me. This is neither maternal or sexy on me, particularly, but...well, teacherly? I'm a teacher, so it suits, on top of being a stereotypical Aries. It's the right mix of soft and commanding for me. A co-worker at one point looked startled, then informed me I smelled amazing, and was that rose? She said it was the only perfume she'd ever smelled with rose where it wasn't overpowering.

I just got this today, and oh, I am so glad! In the bottle: Ooh, it's a dry, cedar box in which I might put keepsakes. On me, wet: Still strong, dry cedar, but with a tickle of the herbs. Half-hour later: The dryness has warmed up to a smooth, comforting sandalwood Six hours later: Still going strong on my wrists, mostly sandalwood now with just pleasant touches of herbs and cedar. I adore the balance of this! I would love to see this join the permanent lineup!

I got this as a bonus imp with my order. Fun! In the imp: Oooaaaagh. Spoiled milk and sugar. Um. I put off trying it, but the other scents I have already proved to me how much they can change once on, so I knew I had to give Alice her day too. Today was the day! Wet: Hmm. Still a little sour smelling, but now I'm getting more sweetness, a little powdery smell. Just dry: Wow! Baby powder! I smell -exactly- like baby powder! After a few hours: Okay, Alice is a bigtime keeper. What was baby powder has softened significantly. I'm put in mind of a good afternoon cup of Earl Grey with milk and sugar with a few carnations in a vase next to my cup. It's a very comforting scent. Happiness!
