Given how chocolatey and spicy fruit it smells on me, I do believe The Feast for The Greatly Revered Ones makes an appropriate scent for me to wear this Easter Yum.

In the bottle: OMG that's sexy! Lots of snake charmer resonance, a little panther moon, as previously mentioned. No lavender thankfully Wet on skin: Very very soft, no throw, some vanilla and a little snake oil, still no lavender. 15 minutes - uh-oh... Well, the scent gets stronger, but... Lavender gone wrong It's sharp, and sour and it's the dominant note now. It doesn't smell right for lavender either. But whatever's turning it off is also souring the musk, which is the only other note I can detect, aside from some very faint vetiver deep underneath, which isn't helping in this instance because it's adding more bittnerness Very sad now I'm going to try this again in a week or so and see if things are different I really hope so as it had so much promise.

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume
Lirion replied to Ina Garten Davita's topic in Recommendations
Hoping to enable my best friend's Mum. She really liked Raven moon recently. Her favourite commercial perfumes are: Chanel - Mademoiselle: (I'm assuming she meant Coco Mademoiselle as I couldn't find anything else) tOP NOTES: Orange and Bergamot HEART NOTES: Jasmine Petals and Morning Rose BASE NOTES: Patchouli and Vetiver Top notes of Coco Mademoiselle Parfum incorporate Sicilian oranges, Calabrian bergamot and Sicilian grapefruit. A floral heart is created of pure rose extract and pure jasmine extract, along with a fruity touch of litchi, while its base notes carry a combination of Indonesian patchouli, Haitian vetiver, Bourbon vanilla ad white musk. Estee Lauder - Knowing: Top Note: Coriander, Orange, Aldehydes, Green Note Middle Note: Rose, Jasmine, Cardamom, Ceda Base Note: Patchouli, Oakmoss, Civet The top notes begin with the floral freshness of mimoza, pittosporum, sweet rose and tuberose, combined with sparkling fruty notes of plum and melon. There are floral notes mingling with a sweet woodsy note of patchouli and iris and spicy clove and laurel. The chypre base includes precious woods (sandalwood, vetiver, patchouli), oakmoss and civet. Miss Dior - Cherie L'Eau: Top Note: Bigarade Orange, Fruity Notes Middle Note: Gardenia, Floral NotesBase Note: White Musk, Patchouli, Caramel, Dry Woods Chanel - Chance Au Frais: (Presumably Chance Eau Fraiche? - I'm going off an email from my friend so can't do much with the spellings etc) - citron, water hyacinth, jasmine absolute, white musk, vetiver, amber patchouli and teak wood. Gucci - Envy: The tender and naturally sensual scent contains a blend of hyacinth, magnolia, lily of the valley, jasmine, violet, iris, and musk, and is housed in a modern, transparent bottle. Top Note: Bergamot, Freesia, Peach, Pineapple Middle Note: Hyacinthus, Lily Of The Valley, Rose, Jasmine Base Note: Cedar, Sandal, Orris, Musk It's been stated that she likes Patchouli, Rose (not strong/sweet), dislikes sweet fragrances in general (cloying) likes vanilla. Alas a lot of her notes are not compatible with mine so I'm a bit stuck. Thought? Suggestions? I'd prefer GC where possible - Though I was thinking Black Death from DD might fit this profile - so that I can get imps first and then if she likes we can move to a bottle. Thanks people! -
First test - In bottle: very sweet foody. Hmm, not as I expected. Wet: Single note buttered popcorn. Seriously. Dry: Less butter, still all popcorn all the time though. Trying again a week later: In bottle: I can detect something a bit sharper in there. I think it's the musk battling the popcorn. Wet: Ooo, there's the red musk... much better...hang on, Oi, where'd you go! Dry: Back to buttered popcorn. I was attracted by the red musk and pipeweed combination, and root beer to add a bit of sweet and tangy to it. Alas, the "whiff of sweets" where the only thing I wasn't sure about in this blend, so typically it's not so much a whiff as "you've been rolling in a human sized popcorn machine" Also, lots of throw, LOTS. However the fact that the 2nd test, after it had settled somewhat, revealed some red musk, tough fleeting, leaves me hopeful that maybe with age the buttery popcorn note will fade into the background. Hopefully.

On me, it's laudanum and bitter ashy tobacco alas None of the sultry and sweet, and certainly none of the cherry I was hoping for given reviews Oh well, cant win them all.

So apparently I needed to take the listed notes in reverse order. Initially all I get is the polished paddle wood. That's it. It' rich and strong, and not unpleasant, but still it's wood. On dry down some of the whip leather starts coming out. It's quite a rich leather smell, especially backed by the wood. More and more leather starts coming through and blending with the wood until I can't distinguish separate notes. Very masculine on my skin. Especially since that's all I get out of this blend. Wood and leather. It stays close to the skin too. It would smell fantastic on the right guy. But, where are the flowers, amber, honey and berries? The notes I was really looking forward to. It's not that this is a bad scent, it's just not for me. I like deep and dark scents, just not this masculine. I should note that this decant is aged a couple of years when I tried it.

In the imp: Sharp citrus. My first thought was grapefruit (I didn't have the notes in front of me at the time). There is some rose and it's definitely a white rose, not a red. Wet: Hello citrus, yes you are very bright and shiny, this seems like a good Summer scent, very zingy and refreshing. Drydown - Had to wash it off. The lemongrass grows until thats all there is - it not longer reminds me of grapefruit - and is overpowering enough that I have a headache. I now know I am sensitive to lemongrass I guess I never got past the citrus and slight white rose of this scent. No Jasmine. If I huff really close to my skin way down there's something dirty which could be the patchouli but it's not prominent. It may be what took the clean edge off the lemongrass hwoever. Such a shame, it was lovely in the imp.

This leather scent is so new it's almost raw. I think it's the red moss causing that. I can definitely smell a leather base, but it's like the leather is trying to come out and smell like leather but the balsam has flowed over it and then the red moss has grown over that, so I'm not getting the gorgeous rich leather scent, I'm getting green, fresh mossy leather. As it dries down more balsam tinged leather starts t come through, and while it's now quite a nice scent, it's not personally for me. I like ym leather with more personality I think.

Thank you so much. Clearly I am not full of win tonight.

Help me out please folks. I have an imp from the lab labelled 51. I cannot find the review thread for it. Presumably I am blind or failing to search correctly. Any help would be appreciated.

On me this is leather, leather and more leather. And while I like leather, it needs something more. I smell kind of like a saddlery at the moment, a dusty one. So it's not sexy leather. ooo, the clove is piping up a bit adding some depth and bite. But as it does the scent is starting to fade a bit, and it's the sort of scent that needs to be bold to carry the personality. off to the sales pile

In the bottle it smells lighter than expected, and fruity. Mostly I'm getting the orange flower, backed by some fig and a little of the red currant. Wet: it's still lighter than what I was expecting (and wanting). I was expecting a deeper scent. The patchouli is coming out; at least I'm assuming it's that and the clove that are going woody on me. Dry: the leather comes out to play which would give the depth i wanted if it didn't turn sour when combined with the orange flower. Sigh. And it loses to the orange too. And there is a slightly wonky note that coems in and out which I think is the pink pepper. I am left with orange as the prdominant note, abcked by patchouli and I know the clove is under there only because the orange smells like Ghosts of Christmas Present atmosphere spray. All in all not what I was hoping for. I never knew I amped orange before. Which is a shame given it's not a scent I am find of -though I was safe with it being the flower and low on the list here. I wa shoping for something comparable to Boadicea on me - sharing the fig, patchouli, leather notes, swap the neroli for orange flower... But it's compeltely differnet alas. Oh well. That'd what I get for being nice -
In the bottle I get a light airy honey. Wet, whoah, honey! A very rich honey and while wet that's all I get. As it dries an almost herbal note comes out, I assume it's the oakmoss. The neroli also comes out a bit. This stage is very light on my skin,a nd not altogether pleasant with my skin chemistry. I think it's the neroli that's smelling slightly rotten on me alas. Dry a couple of hours after applying I am left with honey, a tiny hint of red currant and some musk. I am unsure about this blend. I will try it agian in a few days. I like the honey, but I have other honey blends, and the inbetween stage isn't great on me.

I wore Gluhwein for Christmas Day,mmn delicious. During the day of NYE I slathered on Lick It Like You Mean it to help combat the 36 degree heat. And then Beltaine for the eve itself. Wrong holiday/celebration i know, but it felt right (and smelled delicious too)

Oh hi Vetiver I see you are in your bully boy persona today, and you've brought civet with you to knock my nose around in case I possibly imagined getting anything else out of this scent. I shall retire gracefully from the field. Being punched in the sinuses by these 2 is a bit much really.
