This smells more than a little soapy. It is very green and aquatic. I do smell a hint of clary sage, and probably some eucalyptus. If aquatics didn't hate me so much, this would probably be wonderful.

I think this smells like soap. A fancy and expensive soap made with lots of essential oils by small company, but it's still soap. Underneath the soap there's a warm musky-musk, and some sort of flower.

this is dark, dry, sharp and very vetiver. it also smells kind of minty, but more menthol than either peppermint or spearmint. and there is also something that smells like fire. This is really nice. I've never thought of myself as a vetiver fan, but I guess I should just admit it. This is dark, fiery, and sexy.

on first sniff I get a fizzy chocolate soda. To my knowledge fizzy chocolate soda doesn't exist, though I could be wrong. But this smells like fizzy, cocoa, and cola. Possibly this is partially because I haven't had breakfast yet, but it's making me hungry. Now I'm getting a musky wood note, but still mostly chocolate/cocoa and cola. This blend is interesting and complex though ultimately just not for me.

This is strong, woody, aquatic, masculine, and very cologne-y. I'm afraid to skin test this. It's very clean and masculine.

oh for the love of citrus! I really love the smell of freshly peeled oranges. This is a bright true citrus. There is a sugar note and a musk that comes out on my skin. After a little while it's less orange rind and more orange juice. It does fade really fast, it's unfortunate.
-
Cold evergreens and a lot of musk. The musk isn't sweet on me though, it actually smells pretty dirty. It smells like there's probably an anise note in here also. The evergreen is really in the background and barely detectable. I get the comparison to Buck Moon. This is mostly dirty furry animal musk.

I always have trouble with green/herbal blends. There is definitely mint in this. Lavender also. I guess their might be a citrus note or possibly bergamot in this. I'm betting clary sage also.
-
violet candies and some sort of musk. I think there might be a citrus note in this also. sadly when this dries it goes to baby powder on me.

hmm, I get tart not-quite-ripe peaches and ocean. It's interestingly tangy and salty. this doesn't change much on my skin except to get greener and soapy. neither of which are qualities I enjoy in my BPAL.

Hello Jasmine, you really like domination don't you? This is mostly jasmine, I can smell a bit of honeysuckle and maybe magnolia? yeah, the jasmine overpowers everything else almost completely.

this is sweet and creamy and has the vanilla note that doesn't work for me. there is definitely a floral undertone and the vanilla gets stronger and more sugary upon application. I'm not getting any cake. it's like a tub of betty crocker frosting started eating some flower petals.
-
this is definitely a white floral. I can see where others are getting both the lotus and gardenia in this. it's got the sweetness of lotus and also something powdery and soapy, which may or may not be gardenia. soapy-sweet floral scents really don't work for me.

Disclaimer: I love the spices that accompany pumpkin in baking, but I'm not a fan of the smell of pumpkin itself. This blend is gorgeous aged! I just picked up an old 10ml, and it's truly amazing. The spices are lovely and strong, the pumpkin is there, but only just barely. The peach is surprising, but it adds a bit of sweetness to keep this blend from being too dark and dirty. Although, if it was darker and dirtier I'd probably love it just that much more

this does smell a lot like TKO. If TKO is a magical sleepytime blend for you, you'll probably like this. however, this is really not for me. Lavender gives me a headache, and this vanilla note makes it worse.

This smells like a soft new great quality leather. There is something sort of green/herbal in it also. I'm definitely picking up some dirt. and, yeah, there's a soft sandalwood note in there too. It's quite fantastic. I really love the smell of good leather and it's blended perfectly with notes that are complimentary to the leather but still let it have center stage where it belongs.

I have a lot of Sunbird. I have 2 bottles directly from the lab, 2 bottles I acquired from reputable forum members on livejournal, and 3 decants from 2 different people. ONE of the bottles I got from a livejournal transaction is much much lighter than all the other Sunbirds. It's a light amber colour instead of the deep red/brown of the others. It smells slightly less fiery and a little less resiny. But it still smells like Sunbird. Anyone else have any really light bottles of Sunbird? or is this weird?

I'm getting a lot of roses and violets and a little something citrus from my squirt. it's lovely, if I could handle smelling rose I'd buy a bottle of this.

Dear Gingerbread Poppet 2005, Why must you smell so gloriously delicious? Warm and spicy, with just the slightest hint of a perfect bourbon vanilla. I'm afraid to wear you because of how much you'll increase my chances of being eaten alive. I can't not wear you because because this heavenly aroma strongly emanating from my body parts is cutting right through all the tension stored in my muscles and I feel almost high. Gingerbread Poppet, you're a gateway drug cunningly disguised as a perfume. Love, MoonstoneMama

in the bottle: citrus (lemon) and a bit of mint wet: very citrus and a bit herbal dry: this is a lovely clean sunny citrus, not a lot of throw. but it's nice and bright, the herbalness (lavender and mint?) has faded almost completely out.
-
in the bottle: soap wet: soap dry: yeah, all I've got is soap. weird sort of citrus soap. it's not good on me, not at all.
-
Sol Niger - Black Sun in the bottle: dry, resinous, dark wet: much the same dry: this morphs a lot. it's still hot and dark, but very, very sweet. it's sweet but not at all cloying or sugary. this is fantastic.

in the imp: mmm, doesn't smell that great to me wet: smells better, woods and cinnamon dry: this is really remarkable. it smells so freaking good. I think I would bathe in this blend if it weren't so prohibitively costly. I absolutely understand what all the fuss is about with this blend. (fortunately for me, Velvet Dogs Playing Poker actually smells better on me or to me.)

in the bottle: mmm, piney and spicy wet: it's mostly balsam, patchouli, and clove dry layered with the bath oil: it's a lovely spicy resinous blend. the first time I wore this set my newly enabled friend asked me if I was wearing Scattered Gloom again.

in the bottle: um, this smells like a dumpster to me. I don't know why. It just smells like the residue of old rotted things. as an in shower moisturizer mixed with warm water and my skin chemistry it starts to smell lovely. on skin after shower: it's mostly amber and resin on me. but it's not a powdery amber. it's faintly sexy and seductive. very little throw, it stays really close to the skin.
