Initially, I smelled lemon -- bergamot, I'm guessing, from the tea. When I first got it on, it was unexpectedly wonderful, a nice mix of tea and vanilla. But as it dried down, it went more man-ish. It's true, though, that if I smelled a guy wearing this, I'd probably want to jump him. But there's a masculine undertone that makes this... well, it's borderline, almost unisex, but nah, no thanks.

Wow, I got a weird read on this one... wet, it was very dry and a bit cologne-y. As it dried, it went to more of a wood smell, wood mixed with something herbal. Later, it still smelled like wood, but sweet wood, mixed with something dishsoap-y (lemon flower, I assume). Not for me, that's for sure.

At first, this one screamed "fruit!" at me, a lot like Spinning Pinwheel. Once I got it on, it changed to "grape!" -- grape candy, grape soda, like that. But when it dried down, the grape (currant, I'm sure that's supposed to be) faded back, grounded in the earthiness of the mushroom and rhubarb. Very nice, but when it dried down, the throw went to almost nothing, which is sad.

When I opened the bottle, this smelled delicious -- the most perfectly accurate, realistic cream cheese frosting scent ever, exactly like opening a can of frosting and taking a whiff. But on my skin, the frosting and cakey undertones went away, and what's left is the scent of "generic BPAL" -- it's the smell of my box of swappable imps, apparently the perfumey notes that are meant to be underneath the cake smell. I'm really hoping it's a hormonal thing (took the last pill of a pack today), and I'll hold out hope until I try this again in a week or two. It was lovely wet, but then, blah.

My first impression of this was cinnamon, cinnamon like Big Red gum, that kind of cinnamon. Tasty-smelling, very much. And then, as it warmed on my skin, something came out underneath that smelled like rye bread -- I'd say it's fennel, but it's probably anise, 'cause there's a slight sharpness about it that fennel doesn't have. Ultimately, it settled down into a very nice, well-blended scent that's a lot like the inside of a craft store, cinnamon and twigs and such that you might use to make a fall wreath. Very nice. Why must I become enamored of such a rare scent? Evil, I tell you.

Definitely Pinwheel for fruit punchy goodness. Also, Schroedinger's Cat is lime and lovely on me. And maybe Fairy Wine? It's grapey-fruity and not very boozy. Oh, and Candy Phoenix, if you can get ahold of some ... pomegranate candy awesome.

In the bottle: Cherry cough syrup that morphs into a really strong almond extract as I sniff. Wet: Cherry almond, with a teeny split-second hint of cake. Drying: Cherry ... something. Cherry and something that's just enough not-cherry to make this not a cherry single note, but it's pretty much all cherry. Maybe this'll age into goodness. Maybe.

In the bottle: Uck, harsh. Vetiver wasn't in the ingredient list, right? *checks description* Hm, nope. But harsh anyway, harsh and cologne-y. Wet: Dark, dirty flowers. Drying: A dark floral with hints of dirt. I so wanted to love this one, but eh. The bottle's beautiful, though.

In the bottle: Something nutty, almost like acorns, with apple and a strong berry note. Wet: Nail polish remover? Uh-oh. Or shampoo? There is a nice, fruity something going on here, too, and I can't totally place it. It's sort of like a fruit-scented shampoo. ... and holy crap, the THROW! I have four things on right now, testing them, and this one's threatening to overpower them all at a distance. Drying: Apple-berry shampoo. Odd. I may give this another try in a week or two, see if hormone levels make a difference. I WANT to love it, but I just don't know if I can.

In the bottle: Fearful Pleasure with a hint of cream. Wet: *slobbers, drools, tries to nibble arm* Oh gosh, this smells HEAVENLY. It's Fearful Pleasure's calmer, sweeter cousin, apple cider but with more nutmeg and a bit less sharpness. Drying: This one's definitely getting a side-by-side test with Fearful Pleasure. They're incredibly similar, though I have to say that I feel like this one's staying closer to the skin, and it seems like it's a tad sweeter, just a teeny bit. It's delightful. But since I already have a stockpile of its cousin from last year, I'll have to see if this one's worth hanging on to as well.

Cologne-y in a golden, amber-y sort of way. A bit masculine, too. Glad I took a shot at it, but eh, no.

At first sniff, this one's infuriating. It smells like something, something vaguely familiar, something from my childhood -- some sort of candy? Or cough syrup? Eventually, it settles down to something vaguely sweet in a fruity way, a little bit like apple candy (not candied apple).

I'll second TKO ... it's wonderful!

Wet, this is very grassy, then plant-y green, with a hint of some sort of berry to add sweetness. As it dries, it morphs into almost a Mme. Moriarty-esque scent, without the patchouli (or else it's hiding REALLY well), very heady and almost musky. Later on, it fades back to something musky and sweet, very nice.

It's interesting how everyone's impressions are so different on this one. Wet, it's milk (not goat milk) and something green, green like a house plant, not green like grass. Dry, the milk has faded off and it smells primarily like clover -- it's actually very, very similar on me to The Host of the Air.

I'm going to see Green Day tomorrow night -- what scent do you guys think I should wear? None of my usuals seem appropriate. Nothing with vetiver or patchouli ... other than that, I'm open to suggestions. (And there won't be smoking, 'cause it's an arena show, so that won't be a scent factor.)

Darn you, honey. Darn you to heck. This is Lady Una taking a brief walk past a blueberry bush -- for a moment, there's a hint of blueberry underneath, but other than that, it's pretty much straight honey. I wonder if honey is a note that might weaken as it ages? This had so much potential to be awesome from the description, but the honey's crowding everything out.

It's a dry aquatic. That sounds contradictory, doesn't it? But that's what it is -- it's like your usual aquatic, which to me always seem to smell less like water than like a men's shower gel, but it's much less sweet-smelling.

Patchoulli and a dark, wine-like berry smell, which quickly becomes PATCHOULLI PATCHOULLI OMG PATCHOULLI DON'T FORGET I'M HERE, NOW, I'M PATCHOULLI! Boo. I love gnomes, too -- they're so cute. This scent is total fail on me, though.

Vigilant day-glo guardians of lawn and patio, stalwart protectors of the home. Pink sugar-crusted marshmallow, dandelion, and sap. Candy candy candy... it's a candy sugar powder, vaguely fruity. It almost reminds me of sweeter Smarties, or these lollipops I used to get when I was little that were sweet and almost chalky in texture.

I smell just like carbonated fruit punch! Nummy!

On first whiff, this one doesn't smell like my boyfriend (which is sorta what I was hoping for, 'cause he uses goat-milk soap). It does smell like something sweet that my nose can't identify, plus a milk that isn't quite milk (must be goat milk). I usually try scents without having the notes in front of me -- it occurred to me once I saw the notes listed here that of course, the fruit-like-but-not-quite-fruit note I'm smelling must be fig. What I smell on my skin is that, with a hint of something almost like sunblock, and that's just fine by me. The overall effect is lovely. I think I may need a bottle.

If it helps any, the one time I wore Smut out in public, a random guy told me I smelled like nag champa.

In the bottle: Dark spices, a bit almost smoky ... my first thought was of Mama-Ji. On my skin: It starts dark and mysterious, and then suddenly, it opened up, blooming into warm and furry, like a mink stole. The spices crept out, so that it became sweet-spicy, like a clove-studded orange, and then the tea popped up to mellow it all out (first time I've actually been able to pick out the tea note, yay!). This is really nice, perfect for evenings or parties. I think I'm gonna wear it to a morning wedding, though, 'cause it's a Buddhist/hippie wedding and it should do nicely for that.

It's creepy sometimes, what Beth can create. This is EXACTLY what it says -- champagne with strawberries.
