Sweet and light, white roses, turning slightly soapy-sweet. Very nice, but not something I'm likely to pick up and wear when I have Parlement of Foules around.

On me, this one is really soapy -- in a good way. It's very clean and fresh, with a bit of grassiness.

In the bottle: Honey-like, sugary. Wet: A hodgepodge -- sweet like honey, green like flower stems, a bit fruity Drying: Sugar cane and black pepper with a hint of something tropical. Later: Creamy and floral at the same time. No strong evidence of carnation, sadly, but still nice, with a slightly tropical edge to the floral that makes this seem like it might be a good summer scent for me.

Lyonesse is my top go-to scent for formal occasions ... the last time I wore it was to an upscale wedding. Other things I'd wear/have worn (not looking at your list here) would be Khrysee or Polyhymnia. Voyeurs Among The Cherry Blossoms would probably work pretty well, too.

Just thought I'd add here that if you're looking to match Cashmere Mist, I've found that to my nose, it's identical to Voyeurs Among The Cherry Blossoms. You wouldn't think so from the list of notes, but it's true.

Y'know, I wish I had more money and time and the skill to build things ... 'cause the Lab's labels are always so pretty that it would be cool to do a whole wall display of them, like the world's biggest spice rack, with every bottle ever made, all the pretty empties (in this 5ml style) lined up at once.

Sweet, light, lovely flowers. I can't think of a single bad thing to say ... but I don't think this is something I'd actually think to pick up and wear, so I'll swap it anyway. (Have to try to keep the herd managable, after all.)

Herbal. Very, very herbal. I get no bergamot at all. Bummer.

In the imp: Chocolate, TRUE chocolate (not cocoa), and caramel, with a hint of spice. Wet: Chocolate and pepper. You wouldn't think this would work, but it really does. Drying: Indian food? My brain keeps interjecting "Indian food!" as I sniff. It's pretty tasty-smelling, that's for sure.

Soapy-sweet, turning into a cologne I can't quite place ... I almost want to say it's Cashmere Mist, though I haven't worn that in so long I can't be positive. Intriguing. Edit: It is Cashmere Mist! I had no clue that there was cherry blossom in that, which I used to wear all the time until I got into BPAL, and I can't even pick it out as a note now, smelling the oil, but I literally opened the imp and sniffed, then got out my old bottle of Cashmere Mist and squirted it and sniffed, and they'd identical to my nose (aside from the alcohol, of course). Weirdness.

Oh, dear. Cocoa powder, and... feet? Eew. This one definitely hates me.

Cherries? Cherries. I know there are no cherries listed, but that's what it smells like to me.

A sweet, fruity sort of scent, light, though, and slightly soap-tinged.

Light and sweet, papery and pretty ... lovely.

I can't decide. I might go with Candy Phoenix 'cause it's a sweet, celebration-type scent. Parlement of Foules is possible, but though it's a Lupercalia, this is really almost more of a two-season scent for me. Or... I could go with something orangey, 'cause I'm making him orange chocolate truffles. I get to pick two, though -- V-Day is Saturday, but I have to work, so we're celebrating Sunday.

I was hoping for creamsicles, but what I got was way more mature than that. It's a very grown-up scent, like a golden vanilla-tinged powder dusted over orange blossoms, more sweet flower than fruit, but not a light scent at all. It smells like something I'd wear to a nice dinner party or a corporate board meeting, something I should wear while dressed up. Sadly, I dress up almost never, and it's not a terribly good scent for wearing jeans, which is my usual attire. So maybe I'm not grown up enough for this blend, or not formal enough. It's still nice, though. Not sure if I'll hang onto it, though, 'cause I already have Lyonesse to fit the bill of "formal party scent" for those rare occasions.

In the bottle, it's very much like chocolate frosting, sweet and sugary and a bit buttery. Wet, it turns more powdery, Gelt-y. Dried, it varies -- sometimes, it's a nice fudgy scent with a hint of sugar sweetness, and sometimes it goes more into cocoa powder. I might try this again, but I think that even if it works, the more I think about it, I'm not sure if I have an appropriate occasion when I'd want to smell like chocolate (maybe my chocolate-fiend self won over logic when I ordered). I may try swapping this for one of the other chocolate box blends once I get my imps of those.

In the bottle: Intriguing, watery, Asian, bamboo... reminiscent of Tanuki. Wet: Very watery, in a really nice way that I haven't smelled from Beth before -- not soapy like most aquatics smell on me, not shower gel-y, not harsh or murky, just fresh, clear water. It's the closest thing to a nice aquatic I've found yet, but there's an Asian flower blossom in there, too, probably plum blossom. Very nice. Dry: Much more flowery, with the water stage gone. It's a nice, light floral, though, with a hint of fruity sweetness.

Wet: Lilac! Drying: Soapy -- it's a flower fight, which sometimes happens with multi-flowered blends, where they all start battling for dominance and smell like soap. Dried: The soapy stage is gone, and in its place is a lovely floral, well-blended with a lilac-y throw. Very nice -- I might need a bottle of this one.

In the imp: Chocolate?, sweet, sugar, candy, fruit. Those are exactly the words that crossed my mind. Wet: Honeyed citrus? There's something that's not honey but is reminiscent of it (tonka, I guess?), and an orange-y citrus, grapefruit. Drying: Floral ... vanilla floral ... vanilla citrus floral, tonka grapefruit honeysuckle, with a hint of florist. It's really quite lovely. A little powdery, though, ultimately. Must let this one go before I end up growing to love it, 'cause it's just okay right now, and if I find it bottleworthy, that'll probably be a tough task.

In the imp: Assertive, a big tangle of flowers. Wet: One flower takes over ... but I suck at identifying flowers, so I'm really not sure what it is. Maybe jasmine? That sounds about right. Drying: And that's it, apparently. On me, it's a one-note floral. Meh.

In the imp: Nasty, dank, mucky dirt, the kind that you dig up and it's got bits of roots and fungus in it. Wet: Potting soil? Still very much like dirt. Those lovers of Graveyard Dirt, etc., should like this one. Drying: It's amazing, really, how much this smells like rich, loamy dirt. I don't know if I really want to go around smelling muddy all day, but it amazes me sometimes how well Beth can capture a scent in a bottle, 'cause if I went out in the backyard and dug up a clump of dirt (out from under the snow), this would be how it smells.

In the imp: Red musk? It smells sorta Smut-y. Wet: More floral now, rose-y. Drying: Darn you, rose. Rose tends to amp on me, and it's drowning this one out.

In the imp: Dry, woody. Wet: Oh, hello, lillies! It went from "wood" to "florist's" in about half a second. Drying: LILLIES! It screams it, so much that I can move my arm totally away from my body, as far from my nose as I can get it, and I still smell it quite clearly. It smells like the inside of a florist's, all lillies and flower stems and little bits of twigs and such. If you love that flower-shop smell, stock up on this one. Me, I don't think I'll think to reach for this one enough to keep it. It's not bad, though, not at all.

In the imp: Crazy. Contradictory is right -- I think the most dominant thing I'm getting is lime, but it's sorta all over the board. Wet: Lime, citrus, oddness. Could be the mint chocolate monkeying around in there that's making it so... unsettling. It's unsettling, like walking through a house that's tilted two degrees sideways, just enough to feel off-kilter without being really noticable. Sort of like the idea of a dead-and-alive cat, really. Drying: Really bright and fresh and citrusy. I might just fall for this one. That would be awesome, 'cause I want an excuse to buy a bottle, 'cause the bottle art is so cute. EDIT: Giving this a full day's wear, it gets even more bizarre -- it's gone Glasgow-y! What the?
