I got this one from a friend who knew it was on my list to try because I love roses. This one is so beautiful When I first put it on it almost smells like lily of the valley to me. It's very soft and light. The lily fades and then it is all soft roses. It smells like very pale translucent petals and stems. I think some of this might be the moonflower in it. The dry down is watery and sweet but light, not a cloying sweetness. There is something else familiar in here but I can't pinpoint it. This is very dreamy and romantic and is right next to Persephone at the top of my big bottle list.

Persephone was number one on my very first imp order. This one is really wonderful!! I don't have much else to say that hasn't already been covered but here are some of my thoughts on it. When I first put this on I get a top note of melon I think- sort of like cantalope and then almost a pineapple smell. That fades after a few minutes. Then it's a lush, fruity, sweet rose smell. I think of real pomegranate as being tarter than this is. This dries down to a very soft rose. Persephone is a very feminine scent and one to wear to make yourself feel pretty. It's interesting to compare this with Moon Rose. They are both rose scents but are very different. Persephone is like a dark red or magenta rose and Moon Rose is like a very pale pink or white rose. I really really love this and it's at the top of my big bottle list!!

This is another one that I'm just not sure about yet. I ordered it because it was described as being a woodsy and green scent. On me it's more floral than I had expected it would be and not as woodsy as I wanted. When I first put it on I get a very strong cherry scent, it's medicinal and similar to cough syrup although it doesn't have a menthol quality if that makes sense. It's like an artificial cherry smell rather than what a real cherry smells like. After several minutes the cherry fades and it changes to woodsy floral notes. I was hoping for more of a pine scent or deep forest smell. It softens quite a bit on the dry down into almost mossy and sweet florals which might include rose. There is something very interesting and mysterious about this one so I will try it a few more times before deciding if a bottle is called for.

This one is very nice although I'm not totally sure if I would buy a bottle of it yet. When I first put it on it has a light lemon scent. Then it changes to fruity- which is the peach I guess- and florals too. It is a very light scent and would be good for springtime I think. It dries down very powdery on me, like baby powder which I don't really like that much. I'll try wearing this one again in warm weather and see if the powdery part is still too much for me or not. Overall though it's very nice (just not a huge love it-must have it now- for me). *Update- I tried Fae again this spring to see if it would work better for me in warm weather. I do think it makes a good springtime scent but it's still just a little too sweet for me. I ended up swapping this one.

I got this one as a freebie imp in my first order- I guess maybe they're giving it away since it's being discontinued. It's too bad because this one is very lovely. It smells almost exactly like a scented oil I had in college called "Rain". I was really excited when I smelled it because I couldn't find the original oil anywhere. When I first put this on it smells like a very refreshing lemon and menthol scent. But it's not overpowering like menthol cough drops- it's more like a lemony breeze. Then it changes into sweet floral notes. I can't really pick out what the notes are but they smell sweet, warm and green to me. It brings to mind a spring rain storm that is cleansing and refreshing. Too bad it's going I'll enjoy the imp while it lasts.

Wow, wow wow!!! I absolutely love this one! I have an imp of this from my very first order. I chose it because I thought the violet sounded nice and it was different from the other imps I ordered. In the bottle it smells like a very refreshing mint. When I first put it on I get a very strong hit of eucalyptus and mint. At first I was a little nervous about the eucalyptus (as someone else mentioned it smells a bit like cat pee) but then it started to fade a little. So for the first few minutes it is very refreshing and clearing. After the eucalyptus fades the violet and mint comes through. It is a very icy, frosty and crystal clear scent that fades into lovely soft violets. It also reminds me of those violet candies that Penance mentioned. This is something I could wear everyday and in any season. In cold weather it would echo the chilly air and it warm weather it could be cooling and refreshing. This is at the top of my big bottle list for sure.

I got this one as a freebie in my very first imp order from the Lab. Although it's very nice to get freebies, this particular scent didn't work for me. On me it smells very strongly of gardenia. As some other people said it's very heavy and cloyingly sweet. It might be nice to wear in warm weather though. Although I didn't really like this one on me, there was something in it that made me keep sniffing my wrists hours later....funny how that happens with BPAL, isn't it?

I guess the Jack I have is Jack II since I just got it two weeks ago. I really really thought I would love this one but unfortunately it doesn't work with my body chemistry In the bottle it smells like rich melted butter- yummy! When I put it on it smells just like the inside of a raw pumpkin and a bit waxy- which I liked. That fades and then I get a very strong peach and mixed spices note. The peach is way too strong on me for about an hour. I almost washed it off. It smelled like cheap peach potpourri or peach tea but not in a good way. I kept hoping I would get the pumpkin pie/pumpkin bread notes but that didn't come through on me. The peach eventually faded and the spices came through more softly. This was a real bummer for me. Oh well, I guess that's what happens with body chemistry. So I will either use this to scent a bath or candles.

I'm brand new here and this is my first review ever So being half Greek I had this one at the top of my first order list and in a word- fabulous!! In the bottle this smells like very sweet honey to me. When I first put it on it smells like I spilled red wine on myself- but in a good way like I was having a good time and got a little tipsy After several minutes the wine fades and I smell honey and sweet floral notes with something a little smoky too- I'm guessing that's the myrrh. It dries down into a very soft honey note with the florals far in the background. There is something very ancient and almost haunting about this one. It makes me think of people worshipping in ancient temples. Maybe that's just my ethnic pride coming through (opa!) but regardless I just LOVE this one!! Definately on the top of my big bottle list
