The embodiment of Victorian funereal elegance. A delicate sugar-spun vanilla cream cotton, stained by tobacco and incense, Indian musk, and drops of cognac. Black Lace A (4/5) (Outside): Dusty, smoky and of spirits and incense. Really strong, boozy note... Sharp but smooooth. (Inside:) Wow... I usually do not like heavy, dark and musky smells but this because it reminds me of normal, boring perfume... but this is a wonderfully smooth, dark cognac laced with vanilla smoke. I can see where others fit Snake Oil into this. It's carries a wonderful, warm, lightly spiced feel and has the same sweet edge. Chemistry: I can really sense the stained cotton in this because the notes feel like they've all soaked into each other. The tobacco, musk and cognac all turn mellow on each other and i'm left with this delicately vintage... vanilla smoke. I smell rich, creamy, elegant and refined. And somehow the whole thing smells smooooth because yes! like others before me have mentioned, it has been blended so very well!

Bloody Mary Grade: A+ (4.5/5) (Outside): Prominent burnt cream; sweet and well, creamy x.o... but not exactly smooth. (Inside: tangy..sour sweet. Cherries? cherry liquor? not alcoholic.. hmm.. cherry cream... argh i had the word.. Not fruity. not very sharp... cherry lemon cream cordial!! Chemistry: Okay, x.x Whatever's mixing with the cream accord is making me smell like cotton candy. If i take a big whiff up close to my wrist, it smells like a stronger, cherried cotton candy.

Beaver Moon 2007 Grade: A (4/5) (Outside): The outside of the imp smells sweet and slightly sugary. (Inside: sugary almondy.. touch of spice. sweet...but not strawberry-candy or lolly sweet. A very artificial nutty sweet. Chemistry: It's still almost a nutty-sweet almond. I can smell a little bit of spice and it seems to amp the sweetness ... After 10 minutes it smells kind of sugary with a faint strawberry cheesecake topping lingering in the air. And as it calms down further i don't smell much of the almond at all. Instead, i get a really nice, gentle strawberry-vanilla aroma from an otherwise cherry-almond dessert. Really yucky and almond-nutty-in-a-market-stall when wet, deliciously light and sugary on the drydown.

Love Potions Hetairae Snake Oil ♥

The sublimely beautiful, fiercely independent, impeccably cultured, fascinatingly worldly and witty courtesans of ancient Greece. A seductive and dazzling blend of golden honey, fiery patchouli, sweet fig and clove, and a blushing touch of ylang ylang. Hetairae C (.5/5)WHAT THE HELL IS THIS LOL. I was hoping for everything in the description to fit Valor but instead, it smells like the inside of a cheap, scented candle store stocking patchouli up the arse. It's all musty and dusty and not at all sweet... it's pongy.

By far, our most popular scent! Magnetic, mysterious, and exceedingly sexual in nature. A blend of exotic Indonesian oils sugared with vanilla. Snake Oil A+ (4.5/5)Berries and as it dries, it gets even more sweet maybe a little decadent. There's a hit of something blanketing the scent.. warm and spicy cherries. Hours later and keeps getting better...The sugared berry-vanilla scent thrivesssss on my chemistry.

The Hanging Gardens Grade: A+ (4.5/5) (Outside): mmm. Juicy, fruity and an aroma of wet, greenery covering the sharp scent of berries. (Inside): Glorious, smooth and complex! I've always imagined the world tree to smell wonderfully ethereal like this (as much as the yggdrasil is an ash tree > <) It's pure and undeniably enchanting as though it were plucked out from Eden. Smells like an elixir.. good game! Chemistry: Not as lovely on the drydown. But the scent has already been captured in the bottle! Why would i need to wear it when i have the inspiration right there!

Why waste time chanting her name in the mirror 13 times? Bedevil your next slumber party the easy way! Chunky, glistening red fruits with sweet cream accord, black clotted cherry, and powdered sugar! A chilly, bright perfume: flurries of virgin snow, crisp winter wind and the faintest breath of night-blooming flowers. Snow White 2007 B+ (3/5) (Outside): A ha! I knew it wasn't the others. (The imps together smell like a mess and though they aren't dripping, they all seem to be fighting with each other for top notes. Okay, the outside of the imp smells like almond and powder. hah. (Inside): Inside smells really light, floral and sweet. There is definitely a dry, sterile powdery element in there. Chemistry: whoah. .. I smell like a baby prostitute. It's over-the-top innocent...did I mention the powder? I can imagine a pedophile taking extreme effort to disguise their self with the scent hoping it turns into something genuine and innocent. Scandal! I dropped some onto my left lower finger and it smells like sweet almond tofu and powder. The dry-down smells like someone tried to disinfect the room with a non-citrus based cleaner for a baby room. The hit of 'sweet' notes smell... what the fuck? Dusty like the dirt in the air got jiggy with the talcum powder and a musky sweet. One spot smells different from the other because my hands are telling me there is some genuine sugary sweet trying frantically to get through.

A shadowy shrine filled with forgotten toys, broken dolls. The altar: a collapsing trunk distended by a rotted wedding gown. The air of the room is dusty, laced with the scent of a child's perfume and the remnants of a dried, crumbling bridal bouquet: tea rose, violet, white sandalwood, French lavender, and Calla lily. The Attrocious Attic C+ (1.5/5) (Outside): Smells like floral dust and some very faint poutpourri ... lavendar? I usually hate lavendar, but this scent is really interesting. I think i got this as a frimp X3 so thankyou!! (Inside): I get a sweet dewy flower scent. I take it's a very fragile tea rose? Chemistry: It's all light dusty and dominant calla lily…maybe even a little lemony sweet. Kind of powdery... but the nice, light, airy mist of soft floral fragrance is cowering behind, bullied by the stench of wilted perfumed flowers whichis really close. No crisp, dead flowers, no sweet faint florals. The sweetness of florals is sure as hell faint, but the dead, perfumed floral stench is on a roll.

The perfected winter rose, dew covered and freshly cut. Rose Red 2007 A+ (4.5/5) (Outside) Imp: Smelling with the lid closed, rose red smells like fresh cut roses. (Inside) Imp: As soon as i opened the imp, i got hit by thorns and a sharp green scent. If you were to juice roses with the stems, i think this is the concoction you'd get. A florist shop stocked with wet, freshly cut roses is a close secon. Chemistry: On skin it's very powdery sweet. I can't smell the green .. though it smells fresh with rose scented powder dusted over the top. The drydown on me smells like soft, sweet, rose petals.. no wait.. rose water. It's faint. . . but i smell like rose water! huzzah! It stays put for a good time.

Wanderlust The Hanging Gardens

This perfume is an interpretation of the Hanging Gardens by night, based on further accounts of its fruit and flora: date palm, ebony, fir, pomegranate, plum, two pears, quince, fig, and grapevine with plumeria, three gardenias and dry rose. The Hanging Gardens A+ (4.5/5)Juicy, fruity and an elixir of wet, greenery covering the sharpness of fresh, unpicked berries. It's glorious, smooth and complex! I've always imagined the tree of life to smell wonderfully ethereal like this! It's pure and undeniably enchanting. The story i'm writing includes such a tree where- though considered an ash tree, bears fruit which smells ripe and heavy with purpose and carries such names as the World tree (Yggdrasil), the tree of life and other separate nominations for a ... tree , is planted firmly in Eden and most of where- okay i'll stop there.

Snake Oil Grade: A+ (4.5/5) (Outside) Imp: This was actually a sexily aged version of Snake Oil sent to me by the lovely Chatrient who i can't thank enough X3. The downside was it had leaked a good 1/4 of the boddy and my hands smelt forever-more of the somewhat spicy and foody scent. (Inside) Imp: Strong- really really unnecessarily smoky and harsh. It's thick, gooey and rich in dark pigment. It's a very medicinal smell if you whiff too strongly. Maybe that's the hetairae i have (i tried to give that another go = . = eugh.) I detect spicy vanilla somewhere Chemistry: Oh it’s nice...Berries and as it dries, it gets even more sweet maybe a little decadent. But there’s a hit of something blanketing the scent.. something warm and spicy. Cherries? Mm cherries. Smells like the sweat from berries having sex with other berries. I love this. Hours later and it still gets better (+1) and the sugared berry scent (+1) thrivesssss on my chemistry. Strangely though, had this scent not have recommendations of being berry-like... I would never have allowed myself to get it. But now that i have and it has bypassed my more-than-strict-grading-system, I need to ask chatrient exactly how she aged it and for how long.. oh god it smells so freaking nice ._. WIN. And to think the name and concept (it doesnt say berries or amber!!!) would have thrown me off.

♔ Snow White 2007 In the Bottle: Powdery soft, pillowy crystalline white vanilla, and faint traces of coconut powder. Wet: Most BPAL blends that come with the lab’s “sweet snow” note often get compared to Snow White. And for good reason. It is s classic, if not quintessential powdery blend. Intentionally powdery scents, as I have since learnt, have a very full, complex body, and smell richer than failed skin chemistry. This one is creamy, faintly reminiscent of milky coconut snow, and carries more than just the impression of talcum powder. Delicate, lightly sweetened, but not so much that you could suggest any sort of sugar played part. The almond notes I got from this have COMPLETELY vanished, so have the "sterile" notes from when it was fresh. I don’t even detect them in the bottle. I can tell it must be there though, because the coconut note still has a lot more depth than just any plain coconut. There is also a light wispy air of gentle creamy white florals, and if I dare put two and two together, I feel like it might be almond blossom- because while it doesn’t smell specifically like almond, there’s a depth in there that suggests a floral almond (which doesn’t quite smell like the nut). It is an absolute favourite of mine now… I prefer this over my Chloe parfums. Drydown: Sweet powdery almond blossom florals are more present now, the sweet snow note persists, and I LOVE this coconut-almond-blossom-like combination.. like this drydown is TDF. It’s so soft, faint, and barely detectable, but smells innocent, but expensive and classy. It’s one of my favourite (and only) ‘clean’ scents, probably because there is no trace of any linen, water, or cleaning product. TL;DR: Gently sweetened, powdery clean coconut almond blossom
