Yum! This smells fruity, golden white, and bubbly! I love the strong pear note, and am so happy I have a big bottle of this!

This is a very interesting and memory evoking scent. The first whiff I get is peppermint, with a dry coconut note, if that makes any sense. The two notes merge into something that is very similar, to a cherry/coconut pipe tobacco. It is lovely, but fades pretty quickly. I am going ot meditate on The Star card while wearing this though. It feels like a very potent blend.

Oooh! This smells exactly like a ripe strawberry! If I close my eyes and inhale, I can small the red juicyness, the seeds and the perfect sweetness. Oh how I wish I had more than an imp of this!! (beautiful rose colored oil too)

Hearth was very pungent smelling in the bottle, as soon as I applied it, it turned into this lovely butterscotch pipe tobabbo scent with nutty and veeery rich undertones. I can smell the cherry a bit but I think my skin is sucking it up, which is ok by me! What a fabulous scent, I am so glad I got to try it! Very cozy and wintery, like drinking a hot buttered rum on a frigid winter's night.

Yum, this blend is very sweet and green! I smell tart crisp green apples and a fresh herb bouquet!! The amber comes out much more on the drydown, making this scent a bit warmer. It turns a bit soapy, but in a clean way, like bathing in an ice cold spring. This scent is lovely, I cannot wait to try the other two!

Yumm, a real honey scent with crunchy almonds underneath. It is very light, and not sickeningly sweet. I can smell the milky undertones and I think that is what is keeping this blend so wonderfully sweet without being over the top. I can see a fey princess wearing this, it is perfectly delicate and womanly. Reminds me of freshly made marzipan!

When wet, Black forest is a beautiful medley of pine and musk, it really does remind me of walking through the forest in the pitch black! after about 15 minutes, the musk starts to take over, and I am smelling something like the tang of ozone?? The juniper is starting to come out now, but it is mixed with that odd ozone scent and glooping into baby powder...oh sorrow! final verdict: beautiful on another, baby powder with a pungent kick on me...off to swaps.

On me, this smalls of deep cark cherries, almonds and wine. It quickly turns to an almond/molasses scent with something slightly sour and dark underneath, it reminds me of a demon smoking pipe tobacco. This is a beautifully blended scent, but the notes are not compatible with me. I can't handle the sour smell.

Hmmm, this smells balmy and sharp at the same time, almost as if grapefruits were being sliced in front of someone's sleeping nose while they sprawled out on a warm damp spread of soil. (tired, sorry if I'm not making sense) It does not last as long as I would like it to, in fact it faded so quickly that I am left with a flowery fabric softener smell...still nece though. Not a big bottle, but I will use my impie up.

The peach note is very strong when I first apply this. 1 hour later: Oooh, this is a very soft scent, very womanly and cuddly. I smell primarily the amber, sandalwood and vanilla. They are all mixing together to give it a sort of powdery golden amber scent. Yum! Ok, I was having a horrid day, but wearing htis scent before bed has calmed me down and helped me make a bit more sense of things. Interesting, not what I would call a happy scent, but it is soothing and gives me clarity of thought, I would mistake this for a voodoo blend if I didn't know any better! final thoughts: Lovely, absolutely lovely. Feminine and mysterious, with some very calming mojo underneath, faint vanilla powder scent and I am drifting to bed with a smile! Love this blend!! (Sure it's not a voodoo blend??? ) ETA: I can't spell

Wow! I was expecting a more incensy smell form this but Whoooa Pachoili! This not was immediate, sharp tangy and absolutely beautiful! (note to self, find red sandalwood single note...somewhere!) After about 5 minutes a powdery smell started to emerge, but it was a malicious powdery smell, if such a thing exists. Not girly at all, floating in a haze over the pungent swirls of Pachouli and one other spicey smell. This is a scent to be reconed with! It is very red and brown to me, with a bit of dark gold and burgundy. Very seductive, but when too close, very manipulative and conniving, bloodthirsty. Sigh... Big bottle time, I think.

Oils with the strongest throw or sillage - the most noticeable scents
Jasminepearls replied to lunalight7's topic in Recommendations
For me, Samhain, Lust, Snow White and Rose Red (which did NOT like me) are the ones that have the most throw. -
in the bottle: Samhain is smoky and buttery with a sharp winey tinge. On my skin: Ohh, this is so beautiful. It smells just like fall. I can smell the crunch of leaves and the spiral of sweet smoke intertwining with buttery squashes and pumpkin with wine and apples in the background. I love this!! the smokey and winey nots were what stayed the longest on me with this one, with the apple faintly there, and the barest whiff of buttery notes and the pumpkin. It is evoking images of walking through a forest, crunching leaves and following the smoke tendrils curling up my nose. Also gives me images of a HUGE festifal with a bounty of fruits and wine, dancing, twirling aorund and drumming under a russet colered moon. This is a very reddish orange hue with veins of gold and green. this is my absolute favorite blend so far, I must find more of this!!!

Sniffing the imp: ROSES Ohhh, fresh roses!!! This is so pure and beautiful! On my skin: Very fresh...ok...this is getting a bit sharp. I smell very organic...Ack! It is becoming attack of the killer earth note in Zombi!! Noooo! I can smell the rosey goodness in the backround, but the rotting dirt smell that my chemistry is turning this into is too much. Too strong. I had to wash it off. the lingering whiffs smell just like I had hoped this scent would smell. Lovely womanly rose. No soggy earth, but now it is too faint. Alas Rose Red, we will have to part ways and I will send you off to a more loving home.

Lush to BPAL scent comparisons (BNever included too)

Dana O'Shee and ShimmyShimmy massage bar smell very alike to my nose, and layer wonderfully! -
While wet, zombi was a beatutifully haunting rose bouquet. As it dried, I disliked the scent on me more and more, it was turning too much into rotten soil with wilted flowers drooped everywhere. ...I smell like decomposition, in a floral sort of way. This would be beautiful on someone else, but not for me. the name suits it perfect though!

Wet on my skin, this smelled like chocolate and cherry pipe tobacco. I love this...now it smells like bittersweet chocolate walnut brownies with a warm figgy scent underneath. I could smell myself for days and not get tired of it. Someone mentioned curry..the last lingering whiff was pure curry. Wierd. I know I will use most if not all of this up, it is musky enough to add an air of mystery while cozy and foody enough to still stay a *snuggly* scent.

In the bottle, Sugar Cookie was rich (and i mean RICH) sugar cookies baking, just getting brown around the edges. On my skin, it smelled like a flaky pastry dough, still golden but less sweet, then quickly turned into FIERY red hot cinnamon. I can still smell the baking cookies underneath but my skin seems to love cinnamon! After a few hours...ok, this does smell exactly like snickerdoodles. The cinammon has died down a bit. I love it, and will probably use most if not all of my bottle, but I wish that the cinnamon demon phase was shorter in duration on me.

Wet on my inner wrists, Queen smelled of black patchouli and pepper with a sweet chocolatey richness going on underneath it. after she dried. This is Samhain's identical twin on me. Seriously. The only difference I can tell is that Queen is slightly more 'mature' feeling and a bit more peppery...other than that...EXACTLY the same! I smell the smoke, I smell the fir and even the pumpkin, apple, pine and the smoke, oh the glorious SWEEET smoke!!! Yes, she does her job!! *does snakey come hither dance*

While wet, Tiger Lily smells golden and powdery white, like lilies dipped in a light coating of honey... with the stems crushed, I smell some greenery in the backround. I can definately smell more honey in the drydown phase, not fighting with the boquet but complimenting it perfectly. ...I don't think I will ever find a honey scent from BPAL that I don't like and this is no exception. beautiful, with lots of staying power. It evokes images of a huge field of proud flowers tilting their heads and opening up to greet the sun. Mmmm...can't wait for summertime. bigger bottle in my future!

After the first swipe I could tell my skin was going to drink this scent up...it is hard to describe exactly how, I just know my body *loved* it. Ahhh, there is a Jasmine and sweet orange garden wafting up to my nose...no wait, that is the lotus I think, but it smells so incredibly similar to jasmine...with candied fruits dusted on... An hour later, my wrists had sucked up all of the fruit scent and there was just sweet floral, reminds me of childhood and picking the tiny white flowers that grew, vinelike up the side of the backyard fence... This is a scent of innocence, almost too innocent. It gives me visions of a doe-eyed virgin in a white flowing dress who doesn't know any better. It stayed sweet to the very end on me, morphing in it's last goodbye into a honeysuckle type scent that smells very one dimensional but strong. Great for summertime, but watch out for bee's! I don't think i will be getting a bottle, but certainly will be using my imp up on more sunny days.

First sniffs turned to sniffles as The Caterpillar took my nose and turned it upside-down while sticking soapy jasmine up my nostrils..mean Caterpillar. As he dries, his odor turns shrieking and sharp, tingling nostrils, overload of incense dipped in a cloying flowerbed. He turned quite mysterious on me for a while after settling back down on his shroom-bed, there are spices, ones that I recognize...it smells like cumin and dill under the incense... ...And his final decision was to swiftly twirl me around and powder me with all of the mixed and confused scents of a senile old lady's toiletries... ...And I was just trying to find a way out of this strange place! some help he was! Harumph.

Oh my Goodness...I don't usually like such strong florals but this one is a keeper! A dab on each wrist and my neck and WHAM! I was hit by wafts of beautiful magnolias and heady jasmine peeking through. It is giving me the colors of chilly white and deep indigo. If Beth had taken the biggest and finest of jasmine buds, magnolia blooms, and beckoning orchids, chopped them all up atop a bed of crystalized amber, swiped the wet petals with the amber resin and stuffed them fresh and bittersweet into a bottle, this would be it! The florals are les sharp and leaning towards the sweet side now, but not cloying or headache inducing at all. I can't stop smelling myself! The petals swirl around me in a haze, sophisticated yet soft, this scent stays true and strong, but sweetens up nicely toward the end. I detect the amber, and what smells like a hint of musk emerging, though not powdering up on my skin. Mmmm...warm, sweet and lush, the image of peeking over a fence into a balmy rainforest and catching a faceful of exotic blooms....I want more! This one has staying power on me! I think it would be perfect for an all nighter in a slinky dark dress. Viva la Woman!

This is my very first review, so bear with me folks, The Red Queen: A grown-up and somehow naughty version of saccharine sweet cherry cough syrup is what hits me initially. Not entirely unpleasant. As the notes start to separate, I smell a warm and inviting wood, almost biting and conjuring up images of rich laquered tables with the occasional splinter. Fading quicly, The Queen made her exit with warm notes of vanilla and a perfect mingling of the cherry and wood. Very subtle, but very alluring. What a beautiful and regal scent, perfectly fitting for The red Queen image. My final impression: I wish this one had lasted longer, but the warm yet aloof swirling scents of succulent berry, rich and mature woods, and the dribble of vanilla emerging and tickling my nose is nothing short of lovely. A very good scent for self empowerment I think.

I think that Nine Mysteries smells very similar to Bathos, but with added peppermint!
