In the imp: Very woody. My imp of this is SO aged too, it's almost like tar. Wet: Ew, very, VERY woody and dirty. Don't like it. Not even gonna give it a chance to dry.
-
In the imp: Rose. Uh oh, I'm gonna amp this one big! Wet: Yup, rose. I don't smell any tea, just rose. If you like roses, you'll love this. Dry: Just a pure, fully-bloomed rose.
-
In the imp: Spicy and musky with the lilies floating around in the background. Wet: Whoa, lilies! This smells very much like I shop I go into actually. An alternative shop, kind of like a head shop but not. It's not a bad smell though. I think I get the cranberries too. Not getting any of the spice on me though. Dry: Cranberries mostly, but the lilies are still there too! It's not very strong on me, my skin is eating it!

In the imp: Musky and smoky. Wet: Mint and smoke. Dry: This is going all out minty on me, and quite green and mossy. Like a forest on fire. Quite masculine!

Irrelevant and Disturbing Surreal Crawdad Dream
redderz replied to filigree_shadow's topic in Liliths
Oh dear, I'm going through my BPAL collection and have just gotten to this one. I've tried it before and it was positively AWFUL both in bottle and on me, but I'm here giving it another go. Maybe time has helped it mellow out a bit... In bottle: Sharp, SHARP currants. I'm guessing this isn't going to go well! I'm not sure what it is about it that makes it smell so sour too. And maybe it's my association with the name, but I smell fish. Wet: Still the same. Fishy berries. Dry: I get more tea now, but I feel like I NEED to go and wash it off. Sorry Crawdad, I tried. -
In the imp: A dark wood... and lemon! Wet: Hmm, from sniffing the imp I didn't think that this would be my kind of thing, but on my skin it seems quite nice. Still woody, but not as much as before. There's something quite spicy to my nose! I get some kind of floral in the background too, but that could be the lemon. Dry: Hmm, I like it, and I'm surprised! Still woody, but it's quite sexy.
-
In the imp: Violets! I love violets. Smells very pretty. Wet: Ooh, still violets! I think I'm liking this one a lot. Very perfumey. It's a little powdery, but I seem to like powdery. Dry: Still perfumey, I don't get any grave loam in this!
-
In the imp: I can definitely smell the amber and the strawberry! Wet: Ooh, there's that red musk. It smells a bit like a tattoo shop now. That means... antiseptic. Oh no! Dry: I really wanted to like this as I love strawberry and vanilla, but it has gone antiseptic on me. I might keep it to see if it's just a bad day for it.

In imp: Green and minty. Wet: Ooh-er. Vicks. Don't really want to smell like I have a cold! Dry: Green and pine, but still a hint of Vicks. Sorry Hemlock!
-
In the imp: Pears! And a lot of other whoa!floral things. It's nice though! Wet: That must be gardenia? And pear. It's still pretty! And no rose yet! *hopes it doesn't make an appearance* Dry: My skin is eating this! Getting a hint of green now. Mostly florals though. Quite nice!
-
In the imp: Smells very musky! A light musk though. Wet: Something about this isn't agreeing with me. It could be the honey actually, that usually turns things odd. O goes strange on me too. Dry: It smells like soap. It's clean, but not what I was hoping for. Booooooo!
-
I had to get this because I'm a Gemini myself! Unfortunately, it has lavender in, which I'm not fond of, but I thought I'd give it a try! In the bottle: Lavender! Argh! But... hm, it's not TOO bad. It's a different kind of lavender to normal. More creamy. Wet: Lavender. *sigh* I'm hoping for more orchid! *waits* Dry: I think the orchid is coming through a little now! This isn't really so bad. I'll keep it and try it again.
-
In the imp: Cake! Yes, that's obvious, but it really does smell like fruitcake! Wet: Reminds me a little of Hellcat. I can smell gingerbread in there, and a hint of booze! Definitely almonds too. Dry: It's nice, still almondy! Not something I would wear out, but maybe at Christmas! Ooh, and I just walked across the room and got a hit of glace cherries!
-
In the imp: Very spicy, musky and herbal. Wet: I think I smell the hyacinth, and I also get a hint of the pepper. Musks don't seem to go well on me, but I actually quite like this one! It has a slightly lemony and sweet edge that balances out the musk! Dry: Yeah, I like this one. It's very mature and sexy!
-
In the imp: Lovely juicy apples! Wet: Ergh, it's going a bit like disinfectant on me. That stuff you put down the toilet. Yup, apple-scented toilet cleaner. And here comes the rose to ruin everything as usual! Evil rose.
-
In the imp: Almonds! Whoooooa! And a hint of cinnamon. Wet: Still almonds and a bit like marzipan. I'm not sure what heliotrope smells like, so I can't really say if I can smell that! My skin seems to be eating this as I type though! Dry: It seems a little odd now. I'm not sure about this one. Might have to try it another time.

In the imp, this smells to me like Dorian with a hint of coconut! Yup, I get it too! On my skin, I still get the coconut, along with sugary tea. I think Dorian has gone on holiday to a tropical place with his tea, but has left the lemons at home. I don't get any lavender at all! Dry: Oh god, it reminds me of something but I can't for the life of me think what it is! I actually think it's some kind of men's aftershave or shampoo that has coconut in. This would work SO well on a guy. I like it, but I think I'll stick to my beloved Dorian as it is more delicate.

In the imp: Incense. Smoky. Wet: Woody and incensey. This is more of a masculine scent I think! Dry: Wood.
-
In the imp: Lemon! That's all I can smell at the moment! Wet: Oh dear, this has gone terribly soapy already! And very rosy, darn my skin. It reminds me a lot of the smell at my Grandma's old house. It's what her room used to smell like. A bit old-fashioned on me.
-
In the imp: Ouch, dirty and musky. That puts me off instantly. But I'll give it a chance. Wet: Argh, dirt, dirt dirt. And wood. Not something I want to smell like. It's not awful, but it's not for me.
-
Danube has always been one of my favourite scents, so I thought I'd review it. In the imp it's sweet, sweet flowers. I love sweet things, so it's perfect for me. On my skin, it's still sweet, but more watery. I used to wear it to bed as it was really comforting to me. I think it's because it smells so clean and fresh, like new linen.
-
In the imp: WHOA, rose. Hello there. Wet: Smells more of honeysuckle now, but it's not really doing anything for me. It's very sweet though! Rose petals are floating around in the background. There's a bit of a green note there too. Dry: Very sweet and candy-like. I like it a bit better now it's calmed down a bit!
-
An effervescent blend of crystalline champagne notes and sweet strawberry. In the imp: Woooo, sweet strawberry! Wet: Still strawberry, slightly fizzy! It does smell just like strawberry champagne actually. I really love it. Dry: Just gorgeous. It doesn't seem to last very long though! Definitely a keeper and a favourite.
-
In the bottle: I can smell the dragon's blood and something else sweet! Probably the grape. Wet: Ooh, it smells like an older brother of Purple Phoenix. Like it has grown up and become mature and started wearing scents to attract ladies rather than smelling like sweet candy. I think the tonka and almond are coming through in the background. Drying: Unfortunately there's a hint of antiseptic coming through! Nooo, I was enjoying it! Dry: Yup, antiseptic with a hint of grape. Boo.
-
In the imp: I think I'm getting clove, musk and vetiver, and it's strong. Whoa. Wet: There's something that reminds me of Mme. Moriarty, and I think it's the musk. It's a bit too cloying for me! I also get a hint of chocolate. o_O Drying: I can smell the cherries now, but it's still too strong for me.
