Odd. When I sniff this, I don't get purple. I get black and red. (And then I look at the bottle again and the label is black and red too.) I think I am smelling the sandalwood and amber. It's dark with a teeny bit of sweetness but mostly the dark. (Purple is my favorite color. I wanted to smell purple!) I have also sniffed about 15 scents today so I'll come back later on this one.

Irrelevant and Disturbing Surreal Crawdad Dream

z.O.M.G. Just sniffing in the bottle: The first impression I get is that it smells like warm sugar covered blueberries in a pastry. I make something called "Blueberry Boy Bait" which is like a coffee cake sort of confection and that was the first thing I thought of. On the exhale, I smell musk. Darker and heavier. Another sniff, and I can pick up the juiciness of the red currants -- a little tart. Fruit smells aren't usually my thing, but this one is deeper and darker on the bottom notes and well grounded. Can't wait to see what it will be like on my skin. -
Wow. Sniffing from the bottle it smells so FRESH and blue green. I think I need to let it settle a bit before I can get any individual notes. And I'm slathered in so many other oils right now that I don't want to put it on and mix it with anything. But so far I'm thinking a very cool, refreshing scent. Not fishy at all!

Got frimped with this today. MELON!! OMG MELON!! Juicy and sweet!

This was another surprise! All jasmine and violet. I don't normally like violet but somehow this one doesn't make my nose hurt. And the jasmine... lovely!!! Sadly I don't really wear florals very often, but I want to try pairing this with Flying Fox and maybe Mead Moon.

Guava, orange peel, white pepper, spun sugar and apple blossom. This is very sweet fruity on me. I can't detect the pepper. I like it more than I expected, but I don't think I'll need a back up bottle. I'm more about the fruit and patchouli mixed together. That's an idea -- I might have to try layering it.

There really isn't much to say about Candy Butcher that hasn't been said. Chocolate. CHOCOLATE. My other half doesn't like the foody scents, so not something that I can wear unless he's out of town.

I was surprised to like this one as much as I do... I don't always like cherry/almond scents. But the cassia (cinnamon), cardamom, and patchouli in this one warms and deepen the cherry enough that it's wearable for me. However, mostly what I smell is cinnamon cherry. Which is funny, because I love cardamom and patchouli more! This one is excellent in the scent locket - spicy and deep, yet sweet at the same time. I did a decant circle for the Carnval and only have a small amount left over for me -- I might a full bottle before the fabulous freaks leave town.

This is one of the scents that screamed "masculine" to me. I think a bit too much so for me to wear, and sadly the boy doesn't wear scent.

This one is very lemony on me. I was hoping for the coconut!

Oddly, I am getting all rose rose rose from the dry down. Good thing I like rose!!

Bubblegum!! My friend (who I am slowly enabling with blends such as these) loves it too. She's also a jailbait fan.

I was very excited about this one. Incense! blood! Instead I get WINE and SMOKE. I don't mind campfire type smokey blends, but this was more like cigarette smoke on me. Can't stand most wine blends. Nothing reflecting on Beth for my scent phobias -- it's all me and my preferences. Sadly for me, not a keeper.

This is one of those scents that took me by surprise. I was anticipating others to be my long lost loves and instead I'm blind sided by something I wasn't even looking at. I wonder if it's the red musk / vanilla bean combo? I certainly like rose and clove too. Regardless, this was a pleasant surprise and may be back up bottle worthy for me.

This was the bottle I was looking forward to most out of this Act. I love EVERY note in here... including pine. But the pine is so overpowering that I can't smell anything else. And since my skin has been ultra sensitive lately I'm all about the scent locket.. so the scent doesn't ever really morph from pine to anything else. Maybe someday I'll be able to wear them on my skin again. I'm going to let it age a bit (as much as possible before the fabulous freaks leave town) and see if it changes for me.

I would like to start out by saying that almost every wine blend I've tried has not been good on me. I don't really like the smell of wine perfume for some reason.. which is odd, because I love wine of all sorts. So I didn't think that I would like this one. But in the name of fairness, I give all of the perfumes a chance with skin testing... and wow. This one is one of my favorites from this act!! Not winey at all.

Mme. Moriarty, Misfortune Teller (2006)

I haven't let this age yet, but already it is almost certainly going to be love. The patchouli reminds me a lot of Dark Delicacies, which I love. It starts out with patchouli, musk, vanilla, and plum... fades to a smooth warm vanilla musk. Sadly it only lasts about four hours on my skin. I'll need to try her out in the scent locket. I'm thinking that she will be on the back up bottle list regardless, but she's so good while she lasts. -

This is all buttery birchbeer on me! Reminds me of a local Renn Faire that sells old fashioned birch, root, and ginger beer. Mmmm. -
I had been really wanting to try this scent out and finally found someone swapping a 5ml. To me, it is all lime sugar cookies! A little masculine but I can get away with wearing it. And it's very very lovely in the scent locket too.

Was very excited to order this when it first came out. Been putting off reviews because.. well.. all I can smell is wood and leather. This is very very masculine on me. I wish my boyfriend liked to wear scent... I would slather him in it!

So far my least favorite of the Stardust scents. It smells just.. like... wine... and I don't really like the smell of wine. Reminds me of the wine note in The Chapel. Turns my stomach.

Somnus smelled like chamomile to me. I don't like chamomile in my tea and was a bit reluctant to try it. There is also some lavender, but it is fainter and in the background. As much as I wanted to love it, no bottle is in my future. I'm sticking with Baku.

Got my SGA yesterday! This is the SD:CC version. Lovely lovely art work and a cobalt bottle! In bottle: Crisp apples. I would say chilly, but to me apples never smell when they're cold. I have to warm them up a bit with my hands or have them at room temperature before fragrance is released. But this is a tart hard apple. Not as sweet as a honeycrisp. No mint or menthol. Wet on skin: Still apple but also slightly musky. A teeny bit of white floral. No mint. No menthol. Dry on skin: the apple has left the building. No throw. If I sniff directly, it's vaguely reminiscent of snow white but not exactly. Soft musk, a little floral.. still no mint. I keep reapplying in hopes that the throw will improve. I reapplied two or three times last night and then slathered it on this morning. I think my skin is eating it. It smells fabulous, it's just very subtle. I'll have to try it in the scent locket next to see if the apple is retained. Almost 8 hours later if I huff my wrists they smell like vanilla. It's quite the yummy vanilla. But faint.

In the bottle I can smell a little bit of lemon. Dry down is all golden amber, honey, and dried grass. It's what I wished The Lion would smell like on me. A keeper!!

This smells like single note honey to me in the bottle, wet, and dry. Vaguely reminds me of O.
