Are there decants that you wished you ordered but didn't? Things you wish you had ordered more of? I haven't been able to afford Liliths yet, let alone Weenies or Yules... But I'm going to try to get Liliths before they go down. My wishlist is up to date with Weenies and Yules. Are your Amazon, Etsy etc wishlists up to date? They should be. Amazon has priority settings so please sort high to low; I wish we could do that with Etsy. how do you feel about animated films? I used to be way more into anime but I'm not really anymore. My son has stolen all of my Ranma 1/2 dvds. I still watch some disney and pixar movies occasionally. NMBC is love! I watch Coraline once a year or so. My current fave animated movies besides NMBC are Brave and How to Train Your Dragon. Is there a book you've always meant to read, but never got round to it? Sure, but I have them already. My amazon book wishlist is very up to date; the books I really want are marked as very high or high priority. I put lots of inexpensive kindle books on there too. If you've expressed an interest in candles, do you prefer unscented or scented and if the latter, what scents? Sorry, I've answered so many similar swap questions that I can't keep track of which is which anymore! I love beeswax pillars like the ones from Big Dipper Waxworks (not rolled beeswax, I prefer poured.) Candles with intent would be fine! I do prefer pillars over jars because wick placement is usually better in pillars. Scent wise I like things like Vanillas, spices (clove, cardamom, cinnamon in small amounts), woodsy, bayberry, smoky, incense, marshmallow, patchouli, resins, tobacco, lavender, geranium, sandalwood, rose, etc. and lean towards essential oil types of the scent. For example, I think the yankee candle lavender smells nothing like actual lavender. There are some candles on my etsy and amazon wish lists - there are some Witch City Wicks, Dark Candles, etc. that I have been lusting over but I can't justify spending monies on them. Do you like windchimes or other similar tinkley noisemakers? I would love some gargoyle windchimes. (I have some unicorn ones and some that I inherited from my grandmother. Most of the ones that I long after are probably too expensive.) I still kind of lust over a small gargoyle guardian bell (I think there is one on my amazon wishlist, they're meant to put on motorcycles.) If you were to find something cool like that, it would be great. I wouldn't say no to a tibetan singing bowl for my altar. Do you/would you like Christmas/holiday music? If so, any particular genres or styles? I already have a lot of Christmas holiday music from my favorite bands so no thank you. Do you have a Goodreads? Is it useful for my stalking purposes? I do have a goodreads but I don't think it would be useful for stalking purposes. My amazon would be more useful. (I like librarything better than goodreads but it still isn't completely updated because most of my books have been packed up for 15-20 years. Link is in my SW help.) Are there any holiday movies or shows you would particularly love to get your hands on? Maybe some of the nostalgic rudolph christmas animated movies? (Year without a Santa Claus) Would you prefer your nourishment to be literal (i.e., actual food) or representative? Totally up to you. Bath/body, food, whatever. In terms of actual food, are you comfortable with homebaked goodies so long as potential allergens are not involved? yes! Do you have favorite holiday foodstuffs? Last year I received a homemade christmas pudding and it was SO GOOD. I need the recipe! And then I bought some sticky toffee pudding from World Market and that was delicious too. Are you adverse to burning things as part of your sacrifice? Would rather not unless it's meant to be burnt (incense, candles, paper.) So how do you feel about teas? Would you be interested in getting some for your "nourishment" part of your gift? If so, are there particular companies you love or have always wanted to try? Special varieties you like- holiday blends, or decaf or solid standards like Earl Grey or Sencha? I have so much tea it isn't funny. I wouldn't ever say no to Mariage Freres though. And what about tea accoutrements, like rock sugar, nice honey (I have a fabulous apiary that is literally 6 blocks from my house!), a special spoon? I always love locally sourced honey. I could use a really large (32oz) teavana perfectea maker. Or maybe coffee is more your thing? And would you want your beans whole or ground (if ground, what grind do you like?) I'm good on coffee I think, unless you have a super special blend you want to share with me. I usually prefer whole bean but I am not sure I'll be able to find my grinder or my french press. The only coffee maker in the house right now is my dad's keurig. Scented candle lovers: do you have a favorite store/brand? Indie companies are love. I'd love to try Witch City Wicks or Dark Candles (there are some on my bath / beauty / fragrance amazon wishlist for a hint of what kind of fragrances I like.) I just ordered a bunch of candles from Sihaya and Co. because she was having a secret menu sale so I finally get to try those. I was hoping to get some for swapping but they aren't guaranteed to be mailed until the middle of december. Oops. Favorite/Least favorite bath products (e.g. do you like scrubs, bar soap, gel)? Favorites: shower gel, salt/oil scrubs Least favorite: bar soap (because I make it and I have about 500 bars.) No SLS or parabens, trying to avoid phthalates. My skin is uber dry from thyroid issues and also breaks out really easily. What sounds are comforting for you? Any that bring up good memories? Hoofbeats, saddle leather creaking, horse tails swishing, neighing. (Yes, I miss my horses.) I have lots of white noise generators on my phone and I use those to sleep when I'm away from home. At home I have a noisy air cleaner to provide white noise. Do you like and use christmas/other celebration decorations, baubles and the like? I used to buy a purple, iridescent, sparkly, or some kind of mystical creature (dragon, unicorn, grotesque) every year for my tree but haven't done that lately. My ex didn't really like having a real tree. I doubt we'll have a real tree this year either because I'm staying with my 70-something parents and they have a little fake tree that they like to put up. My mom already has all of the decorations she needs (and more.) I'm always sad that they don't have a fireplace - so no good place to hang stockings. (Yes, I still do a stocking for my kid who is almost 30 and for my parents, and they do one for me.) I have one of those aluminum trees with a disco light in storage somewhere with all of my Christmas decorations. Would YOU like to receive a singing bowl? Yes! Would you mind receiving a pre-loved book (one in good condition)? I have a really hard time reading physical books because of my eyes. My contact prescription is too strong to read things. I do all of my reading on my ipad these days with either ibooks or the kindle app. How do you feel about fruitcake, assuming that I can make it without any stated allergens? We just made cherry almond fruitcake today! That's the only fruitcake I've ever had that I liked. How about rum/whiskey/bourbon balls (these are no-cook, so the alcohol is still pretty potent)? Heck yeah!! But I don't like walnuts. What is your favorite store-bought holiday treat? such a hard question. maybe the chocolate covered peppermint joe-joes from trader joes? I already bought a couple of boxes though and I had two boxes leftover from last year since R wasn't around to eat them all. (Amazing how much longer my treats last without someone else to eat them all.) I'm having a hard time thinking of winter holiday treats... I can think of valentine day treats (cupcake royale's "Death Cake") but the brain fog is blocking my thoughts right now. oh! I was going to buy some Sticky Toffee Pudding from World Market but they didn't have any so we might attempt to make our own this year. Most of the "store bought" stuff I used to get was from local bakeries/stores/grocery stores, I miss all of my Seattle stores.

12 Days of Christmas 2017 -- you can also read my answers from Switch Witch and 13 Days of Halloween 2017 in my blog if you want. Are you coveting anything currently available from Haus of Gloi? I'm super sad that my Rose City pumpkin butter is almost gone (and I don't see it on the site anymore - it was rose and patchouli.) * Snow Wolf, Turkish Delight, would love of a sample of Haus Amber and Nefarious Gingerbread Man. (Pumpkin Butter and any of the scrubs.) * Pomander, Fir Boughs and Incense, Serenity (butter bombs) * Candy Cane, Butterscotch (lip balm) * For perfume only, the birthday ambers are on sale and I was wanting to try Amber & Rose, Amber & Incense, or Amber Noir. The Fall Black Musks are killing me, I love black musk. I'm most interested in Black Musk & Nag Champa, Black Musk, Leather & Rose, Black Musk, Anise & Vanilla. I've never smelled their black musk though, so I hope it's good! Are you coveting anything from the Paintbox Soapworks update that just happened? Sorbetto or bath streusel only: Winter Stories or Figs in Honey. (no lotions or soap please.) I do love her goat milk body cream and wish she would make the lavender honey scented again. There are plenty other of scents on there I'd love too. Are you coveting anything from Cocoa Pink? - Scent wise: Black, Black Marshmallow, Black Vanilla, Black Velvet, Black Widow, Broomstick, Come-hither, Cozy Blanket, Fear of Ghosts, Genevieve, Lipstick Stains, Marshmallow, Monster in the Walls, Naughty, Sensory Deprivation Tank, Stanley Hotel, The Upside-Down, Vanilla on the Rocks, Vanilla Rose, - Product wise: ShampPink shampoo, dermabrasion sample, I'm 29 serum, either the coco mango or the voluptuous body butters, linen spray, sugar scrub. No perfume please. How do you feel about pomanders? They smell good - I used to make them for people. How do you feel about savor soaps? No bar soap for me please. I am not really a fan of whipped soap either, but I do like sugar scrubs so I added some of those to my etsy wishlist. I added some whipped soap too, but mostly for the scents that I liked, not for the whipped soap itself. Or Perfectly Posh? No thank you. Do you have feelings about fruitcake? We're talking whiskey soaked homemade fruitcake, not a brick in a festive tin. So I've only ever had one fruitcake that I liked -- cherry almond fruitcake (with pears, marzipan, and amaretto.) I usually beg my mom to make me one every year. Any strong nail polish and/or makeup preferences? I don't usually wear nail polish (except for BPTP polish!) but I have some on my etsy list that changes color (I'm a sucker for color changing things) and I'm really intrigued by ilnp. (Raven, Abyss, Moonstone, Birefringence, Westwing, By Nightfall, Ava, Walking Home, Missed Calls, Deja Vu....) Makeup wise, I only wear prescriptives foundation and powder. I love black eyeliner that won't smudge or smear (I've been using Stila smudge stick and kat von d tattoo liner but both of those still run a little.) I just got two lippies in another swap but I can always use more (light 'blue leaning' plums/rose.) I don't wear brown, yellow, gold, beige, or cream. I'm into silver, black, grey, purple, blue. Sometimes reds/greens but not often. I have a ton of loose eyeshadows but rarely wear them. I could use some good mascara. Favorite animals? Not in any particular order: Bats, pibbles, friesian horses. Mythological: hippocampus, unicorn, gargoyles/grotesques, toothless. Do you have a strong preference for consumables (soaps, candles, food, etc.) over other stuff? I have a strong preference for things that are useful as opposed to things that just sit. Games, shirts, foods, yes! (no bar soap please.) Would you be interested in Colorpop? The only palette that calls to me is the Yin to your yang. For lippies, I like Ice Cube, Sauce, Baewatch (ugh, I hate the name though), and the Amethyst crystal balm. Black eyeliner. Would you like any holiday music? if so, do you prefer a CD or MP3? No thank you. Do you like toffee or fudge? Fudge yes, but no nuts or anything in my fudge. Love butterscotch or peanut butter! Plain chocolate is awesome too but my mom makes that, as well as toffee, every year. How do you feel about amigurumi (little crochet stuffies...animals, characters, ornaments, etc.)? I like them! (We make and sell them on our etsy store.) My most favorite one ever was a pit bull amigurumi that was gifted to me. If I were to crochet you something wearable, do you have any preferences? Do you like hats, scarves, gloves, other? And would you prefer something fun and whimsical (e.g. fox face hat or owl mittens), something delicate and pretty (e.g. lacy wraps or scalloped boot cuffs), or just something like a basic, no frills beanie or cowl? Do you have a Ravelry account and a list of favorite patterns? I really don't like most crocheted wearables, I prefer knitted. I am on Ravelry as misstwilight and I do have some bundles under my favorites called "make for me." Please don't make anything out of my general favorites. What kind of hot drinks do you like, and if tea or coffee or cocoa or cider or alcohol, give specifics? Lately I have been mostly using the keurig to make coffee and tea (or using cold brew coffee.) I do have some coffee beans and tea on my amazon "edibles" wishlist. I like black tea, especially flavored or cinnamon, and mint tea - especially with licorice. (I hate chamomile.) I love sweet hard cider, especially JK Scrumpy and Ace's pumpkin cider. Ghiradelli Double Chocolate cocoa and Vosges Parisian drinking chocolate are my favorites. Alcohol wise, I like just about everything but mostly things like amaretto, baileys, kahlua, sinfire, vanilla vodka, marshmallow vodka, etc. What kind of candles do you like, scent, etc? Vanillas, spices, woodsy, smoky, incense, marshmallow, patchouli, resins, tobacco. Mixes or seasonings for the kitchen? I'm probably pretty good on spices since I don't cook much. What is something new in your life that you wish you had more "things" for? Probably my altar. I could use an altar cloth and some other items. We do a lot of baking and holiday good ridiculousness around here...house specialties include lebkuchen (flourless, they're mostly nuts, spices, candied fruit), marzipan, butter caramels (flavored or plain), shortbread crisps, and savory cheese shortbread. Any of these sound appealing? Nothing with nuts please. (It's a texture thing - I like nut butters though.) We do caramels too but I'd love to taste yours, especially flavored! Mmmm savory cheese! What are your top places to get a gift card from? ooh, hard to say. Smellies wise: BPAL/BPTP, Moonalisa, Nocturne Alchemy. Food wise: Panera, MOD Pizza, Qdoba/Chipotle, Trader Joes Otherwise: Amazon, Twisted Fiber Art, The Loopy Ewe, Paradise Fibers, Fresh from the Cauldron (etsy), Teeturtle, ThinkGeek, Costco. I'm sure I could think of more but really anywhere would be a treat. Which holiday symbols/themes do you like the best (or least)? Such as Santas, snowflakes, reindeer, etc. KRAMPUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also snowflakes. Do you like puzzles? I play a lot of puzzle games on my ipad but I don't do anything that requires me to hold a pen/pencil and I no longer do jigsaw puzzles (no place to put them, all of our tables are covered in other projects like cutting boards for fabric, sewing machines, etc. plus one table to eat at.) I went from a huge house, to sharing a basement, to having one small room, so my stuff is pretty crammed in here. Do you have a strong preference for numbered packages vs randomly picking with maybe a few hints along the way? Nope. Either way is fine. Are you jonesing for any particular BPAL right now? Anything you are just dying to try, even just a sniffie? Beautiful Macabre, Mummies of Mexico City. (for sniffing) How do you feel about the following flavors/ingredients: Coconut? I like coconut chips and toasted coconut, coconut oil for cooking, coconut sugar for baking, but I'm not really a fan of things like mounds or almond joy. Mint? I love mint tea (especially combined with licorice root.) Mint frangoes are sometimes good, but otherwise I'm not a huge fan of mint and chocolate, it has to be something I'm in the mood for. Lavender? I love lavender everything. We made lavender vanilla liqueur this year, as well as cordial for lavender lemonade. Rosewater? Also made rose petal liqueur, rose jam, etc. Nom! Cardamom? Yes. Candied citrus peel/marmalade? My mom received some homemade candied orange peel in a recent ravelry swap and they were SO GOOD. Yes. (not a fan of marmalade though.) Anything to absolutely avoid? flavor wise, I'm just having a hard time thinking of what to absolutely avoid beside things like mincemeat, pecan pie, lutefisk, things with nuts or marshmallows (texture, not flavor), etc. Would you like anything crafted for the storage or transport of the BPAL? (Travel imp containers, boxes for 5mls, bottle cozy, etc.) I use ammo boxes and mint tins for imps and I have tons of boxes (both travel and storage) for bottles, so I'm good there. I wouldn't mind wall display type things for BPAL though! Like nail polish racks or coffin shaped shadow boxes with bpal sized shelves? Someday I am going to order the BPTP wall sconce for bpal bottles. If so, do you prefer them to be plain or decorated? Either or! If decorated, are there any motifs or art that you'd particularly like? I love celtic knots (ravens, dogs, horses, ferrets, just knots), swirly things, nightmare before christmas, bats, corvids, gargoyle/grotesques, skulls/calaveras, eye of horus/ankhs, krampus. More on the darker/gothy side.

Chaos Theory VI: Recursive Self-Similarity v5

114 I just received this bottle from someone else, there is less than half left so maybe it was well loved? Sniffing the bottle, I get honey as the first note. Wet on skin: Amber with a hint of honey. Dry down on skin, a non-foody vanilla, amber, and possibly a bit of musk or spices, as it's getting kind of a snake oil vibe. it's gorgeous. (It smells a lot like O but less honey mixed with snake oil.) -
This was totally sweet patch in the bottle to me. On, the same. Dry down, the musk finally started to peek out but otherwise still mostly sweet patchouli. I'm glad that the lilac and caramel are only in supporting roles and never really became noticeable as themselves but remain blended.
-
I put this on before heading to an event. When I got home and sat down by the computer, I was wondering who was wearing Calvin Klein. This totally smells like a mix of CK one and CK Be to me. Both of which I actually like, so a winner!
-
In the bottle: Yum! It does smell like a musky sugar jelly baked good On the skin though, I amp more of the musk and vanilla and less of the jelly bits. It ends up not smelling at all like a baked good but I can't put my finger on what exactly it reminds me of. When I can think of it, I will return!

9/14/17 Do you like to read seasonally, or do you like to read whatever whenever? I have a large queue of books to read and review. :/ So please no books. 9/13/17 Would you like to receive a scarf or hat? As I said in the question about knitted things, I don't wear scarves (unless they are super special that I picked out, sorry) and the only hats I wear are newsboy type caps, but again I am really picky and would probably need to pick it out and try it on. 9/12/17 Do you want wax melts? I wouldn't say no - but I rarely rarely rarely use them. Like once a year, if that. 9/11/17 I'm in Japan, is there anything specific from here you would be interested in? Mmmm fun flavored kit kats!!! (I can get green tea and strawberry here.) I'm in The Netherlands. Is there anything from The Netherlands/Europe that you're interested in? I have no idea since I've not been there on what is available. Chocolate? Yarn? Bath & Body Works - love them or hate them? If the former, fave product types? Well, all of their stuff has SLS's and they are definitely not phthalate or paraben free so pretty much a hard pass on any of their bath or skin products. I don't mind their candles and wall flowers (sometimes. Usually scents are much too overpowering and perfume-y but the vanilla scents are ok, although I'm totally sick of vanilla bean noel.) I really wish they still did the honey lavender pillow spray. I hate chamomile but I might be interested in the lavender pillow spray if it actually smells like real lavender. edit: I was just in there for shopping for swaps and their new Lavender Cedar wall flowers are great! Maybe the sprays too -- the Vanilla Patchouli and the Lavender Cedar. (I think they have both pillow sprays and room sprays.) how would you feel about receiving a hand-painted container for your bpal and/or other treasures? if you are on board with that, would you want a big wood box (~50 bottles), a small wood box (~20 bottles) or a tin for carrying imps around? I'm good on containers, I use the IKEA FIRA 9 drawer boxes and while they're full, I have another one left to build. But I'm trying to destash my collection since it's pretty much beyond life expectancy so I'm hoping to never build that one. I also use tea chests. Now if I could get someone to paint these IKEA chests for me that would be the best ever. I'm not an artist. I have have plenty of tins for travel purposes. I'm no fun, sorry! Now, if you wanted to send me a hand painted container for something else, I'm your girl!! I have one of the (newly available again in the US) IKEA MOPPE chests and I'm using it for my witchy stuff, but I could definitely use a couple more. Their drawers are much too tall for BPAL bottles and aren't as deep, but they're great for chime candles, incense, sage smudges, etc. (3 drawers on top, 2 in the middle, and a wide one on the bottom.) They're about $14 so pretty reasonably priced, and they're pretty light - just bulky, so no idea on the shipping. But if you happened to be in Seattle or whatnot, I'll be traveling there in October and I'm sure you could find a minion to meet up with me. if you were to receive something hand knit, what type of item would you like? hat, cowl, handwarmers, etc. and what color(s)? As a knitter, I am already overflowing with hand knit things. I don't wear hats, cowls, or scarves normally. I loathe triangle shaped shawls. If you're a knitter, you're probably friended with me on Ravelry (or you can go look at my profile) and see my favorites and other details like what I like color, yarn, and pattern wise. I have some bundles called "Make for Me" and some swap specific bundles for halloween/vampire swaps that I would be delighted to receive things from. Nail wraps - yay or nay? Would including a small manicure set to go with them help? No thank you. I have a friend who does jamberry and is always pushing their stuff at me. I bought some once to shut her up but I've never used them. 9/9/17 Disney? I like going to disneyland and would love to someday go to disneyworld... If so, any favorite characters? Bambi (what, I like deer), Eeyore (what, I have depression too), Mèrida is best princess imo but I doubt I would purchase anything specifically to do with her? I also grew up as a tomboy riding horses and stuffs, although I currently have no archery things. The compound bow and targets were left behind with the ex. Also Scottish. <3 <3 <3 Oh yeah, I always forget that NMBC is Disney. NMBC FTW! I have tons of NMBC stuff and collect the cookie jars. I could really use some more PJ's, mine have a hole worn in the bottom. And to be more specific about Disney: How do you feel about Beauty and the beast? I like the movie(s)? The first one came out after my son was born (I think The Little Mermaid came out right before? I didn't name my son after the movie, but my friend named her daughter Ariel and my son was named Eryk.) At one point we had to stay in a small apartment between one house being sold and waiting for the new house to be ready to move into and Beauty and the Beast was the only vhs tape we had... my poor son got to the point where he was saying "NO BEAST! NO BEAST!" I still tease him about that. I kind of want to make a lace pattern based on the photo of the windows from the recent movie. Also I love that Gaston is incredibly gay. And what about Harry Potter related items? Well, I mean it depends on the item. I have all kinds of Harry Potter related yarn and patterns because it's something consumable that I can use. There are some cute Harry Potter clothing items from Torrid that I drool over. ALWAYS speaks to me and I have a mug that I keep makeup brushes in that says ALWAYS on the side and has a doe on the other. I would LOVE to go to Harry Potter world and I do enjoy receiving owls and chocolate frogs. I kind of drool over the Harry Potter lootcrate (and Firefly and ....) Dunno if lootcrate has relaxed women's babydoll type sizes, probably not. I don't wear regular men's t-shirts, I'm much too curvy and they don't fit me comfortably. Pokemon? Any favorites? I used to play Pokemon Go on my phone when I still paid for it, but I can't afford it anymore. Other than that, no. My son was really into Pokemon when he was little. (He's 27 now.) Is there any thing, category, or brand from which you would absolutely NOT like to receive things (ie., you're overrun with candy corn, you don't do scents outside of BPAL, or if you ever see another Stephen King item, it will be too soon)? * Bar soap. Please $deity, no bar soap. (unless you make it! then please bring ALL OF YOUR SOAP.) I make soap and I have SO. MUCH. * I also don't need any tealights, I buy those unscented by the 100's. * Also no books, physical or electronic, unless I specifically request them. Please ignore my Amazon book wishlist, it's mostly there for me at this point. * no socks. I rarely wear socks and I am very picky about them when I do. I have super large feet so most women's socks don't fit me anyway. * coffee mugs. I have boxes and boxes of starbucks city mugs because I used to collect them, but I'm considering getting rid of them all. The only mugs I would want would be a 20oz mug with a lid so bugs didn't get in it, but something that is machine washable. What kinds of art/art medium do you most enjoy, or would you most like to receive, in the context of this swap? I do have room to hang things on the wall since all of my other artwork is packed up and in storage. I collect grotesques and gargoyles. I have an artwork section on etsy too if you want to look at the kinds of things I like. 9/9/17 What rares are you dying to try? There are a ton of eclipses and liliths that I'm going to miss out on - just updated my wish list with them. Goth Queen and Snake Oil Jelly Donut both come to mind. Blue wig spray? I JUST GOT SOME SNAKE OIL JELLY DONUT, WOO WOO. Do you like comic books and/or graphic novels? I do, or I used to when I could see, lol. Sandman, Watchmen. I have the first Lucifer graphic novel on kindle. 9/8/17 Are you ok with homemade food? Yes, as long as you follow proper food handling techniques (I have a food handling certificate so hopefully people will be comfortable receiving from me) and - well, I'm really picky about non-GMO, no corn syrup, no red dye 40 or food dyes if possible, organic stuffs only. I also can't have nuts or dried fruit right now because of my kidneys. Or sodium. Or too much protein. :/ I'm not supposed to have coffee, chocolate, or dairy, but I would die without my daily coffee with cream. I figure all things in moderation but am still trying to follow the guidelines when I can. I'm not actually on a diet restriction YET, just guidelines. One more test next month to see how things are. But my GFR has been in the 40's which is third stage kidney disease and one level above dialysis. My GFR *should* be above 90. If you are ok with decorations, do you have a preference for table-top, wall hanging, or window decorations? I'd have to have wall hanging since I am staying with family while going through my divorce (god this is dragging on forever, it's been almost a year since I moved out of his place) and I only have one small room and no table space. I'd rather not cover the window since it is very small and my dog likes to look out it. I do love the halloween bottle containers (without corks, the ones that actually fasten so you can really use them) that come in different colours with cool bottle toppers and labels. Michaels had some really cool ones with bat or skull toppers. My mom got me a bunch of these for my birthday so I'm pretty much set... I also kind of have an animal skeleton collection going. I have a raven, rat, small pug type dog, and larger floppy eared dog. I'd love a bat or cat! How do you feel about stationary and/or papercrafting supplies? I absolutely do not ever write anything except jotting a super small note down (my hands don't work properly - sometimes it's hard to knit or mouse) but I like spooky washi tape with skulls or bats! How do you feel about kitschy/silly Halloween jewelry? I feel like no fun! I don't wear even nice jewelry except my scent locket or occasionally another necklace or pendant. Sometimes rings/bracelets/anklets but right now I'm very swollen from kidney problems. So I'm sorry, but no. Would you be interested in a Halloween wreath? If you were to make it, sure! I love black and purple, skulls, bats, ravens... I'm a huge NMBC fan. absolutely no brown, red, orange or country cute type stuff, gothy only for me. I like the two black and white ones but not the one with coloured balls. I even have a wreath hanger on my door.

10/5/17 would any witchees be interested in NASA swag? I'm now super-close to Marshall Space Flight Center and will be visiting the space center with my kiddo pretty regularly. If so, what would you like? Clothes, a mug, magnets, a plush Snoopy wearing a flight suit? Nothing springs to mind. does anybody like anything from Solstice Scents? I LOVE their Jack and the Devil. http://www.solsticescents.com/ I have tried some of their scents but haven't found anything that works for me. I'd rather have NAVA, BPAL, Moona, Haus of Gloi, or Cocoa Pink. 10/3/17 Witchee, would you like anything from the Trading Post Halloween update? III. MY SECRET DEEDS Hair Gloss IV. HEARKENING TO THE DEATH WATCHES IN THE WALL Atmosphere Spray VI. LOUDER! LOUDER! LOUDER! Bath Bomb 10/1/17 Awesome farmer's market by my house. They have a local honey stand (which also sells things made from local honey like Propolis tincture!); there's a small apothecary and she additionally makes soaps and hand-made, hand-poured scented candles; plus a guy that makes an array of BBQ and Hot Sauces. Does any of this appeal? Would you like anything from my local farmer's market? I love local honey and things made from honey. No bar soap. Love candles. Iffy on the BBQ/Hot Sauces because sodium. If no salt/sodium, I love hot sauces, especially jalapeno sauces. Smolder Cosmetics. Do any of their products (glitter, eye dusts etc) appeal to you? https://smoldercosmetics.com I'm sure they do (especially sparkly) but I have a ton of indie makeup that I've never even opened. Anything from Strobe Cosmetics (http://strobecosmetics.com)? Again with the not wearing makeup for a year. How would you feel about getting Hello Kitty stuff? No thanks, too pink and cheerful. I'm all about Gloom Cookie and Emily the Strange and darker things. Would you like to get some favorite recipes? What I can eat is pretty limited so unless they are kidney failure diet recipes, probably not. Would you like anything from my shop? https://www.etsy.com/shop/LisaNut? No thank you, I don't see anything that catches my eye. 9/28/17 Haus of Gloi Fall II update? I already answered this below (9/8) when the announcement first came out. I put the list of what I'd like from Fall Update 2 there. 9/27/17 How do you feel about these little guys? https://lovemomiji.c...imited-editions I really don't have a place for stuff like that. 9/26/17 What are your top three most wanted DC'd or previous LE BPALs? Goth Queen, Resin Cast Meat Skull, F54 What are some things you do NOT want to receive? * Bar soap. Please $deity, no bar soap. (unless you make it! then please bring ALL OF YOUR SOAP.) I make soap and I have SO. MUCH. * I also don't need any tealights, I buy those unscented by the 100's. * no socks. I rarely wear socks and I am very picky about them when I do. I have super large feet so most women's socks don't fit me anyway. * hair clips, barrettes, pins, etc. (I shave my hair on the sides/back and spike/tease it on top.) * sodium * nuts/dried fruit is there anything from here that you might be interested in getting a print (or pillow/make-up case/etc) of? http://www.blackabbeystudios.com/store No, sorry, I didn't see anything I had to have. Claire's has some super cute Halloween stuff. In the style of Haunted Mansion - black lace collars, lace and sparkle masques and the like. A few items in Dias de los Muertos style. Would you be interested in such things? No thank you. 9/25/17 Anyone like/want calendars or dayplanners? I could use a 2018 calendar but don't feel obligated. Last year I received a cool Sugar Skull one in my 12 days of christmas swap. If you like stationery, do you like plain, colors, images, or specific DON'T LIKES? I don't want stationery, thank you. What about general desk stuff like cool colored paperclips and post it pads? Nope, I need zero desk stuff. Someone got me like 20 cool post it note pads and I've been giving them away like crazy because I rarely ever write anything. In a former life like 20 years ago I was once a secretary and I have SO MUCH desk stuff from that time period including note pads I still haven't used. I have boxes of pens, pencils, tape, paperclips, colored paperclips, purple file folders, etc. And then I worked at Microsoft and raided the office closet and had EVEN MOAR desk stuff that was all thrown in a box to take with me when I left. I still use my microsoft stapler. Does anything catch your eye from Ten Thousand Villages? http://www.tenthousandvillages.com/ I looked at the sale section and was attracted to some of the iron and stone things and then saw they were over $70 after being marked 50% off, and closed the window. Then I reopened it at looked at other things but anything I'd want is much too expensive. Would you be into receiving hand made (crocheted, sewn, felted, chain maille, scale, or duct tape, in my case, depending on the item) dishclothes? Scarf/shawl? Hat? Bag? Anything? Colors? (Duct tape, chain maille, and scales come in colors.) I need more bags like I need a hole in the head since we make them, but if you need to hand craft things for SW - I totally get it. I need to do it too. I have a list of knitted and crocheted things I'd like to receive in my Ravelry Bundles (there is one called Make for Me and another called Vampire/Halloween swap.) I'll try to add sewn and hand made things to my Pinterest when I have a moment. Do you collect anything from SBUX like City Mugs, City Mug ornaments, City Cards, or Bearistas? If so, which do you need/want? Or would you like a City Mug or an ornament for fun? I'd love the little city mug ornaments or a city card from your city!! As I said in the thread, you can probably just ask for a card and they won't make you load money on it. Would anyone be interested in having any of Abigail Larson's artwork (either as a print or on something, like a pillow, blanket, or t-shirt)? https://society6.com/abigaillarson Enablers!! Yes, this is the kind of artwork I like. My top would be Dark Unicorn (!!!!), Little Bat, Krampus and Perchta, and Unkindness of Ravens (grey) but there are many more I like. Unfortunately the Dark Unicorn and Little Bat are very limited to what they come on. Dark Unicorn as a big print or a tote, Little Bat as a stainless travel mug or a tote. Would also take throw blankets, rectangular pillows, beach towels, ipad skin, iphone hard case, tote bags... I added a bunch of things to my amazon lists. Anybody want homemade fudge? I can do chocolate with or without nuts, peanut butter, and butterscotch. Mmmmmmmmmm fudge. Holly made me some peanut butter fudge last year and it was awesome!!! I can't have nuts or nut butters so maybe just regular or butterscotch? I'm supposed to limit chocolate but I'm pretty good at limiting myself to a small amount every day. I usually have to freeze things so they won't go bad before I can eat them. what would you like from the Weenies updatus giganticus??? I updated my wishlist and ISO with what I'm interested in. There's only two bottles (the bold ones) that I'm super excited about - I'd rather have Eclipses and Liliths first before they go down. I really hope Liliths are up until November.... bank account needs time to regenerate. 9/24/17 do you collect the art cards that BPAL sends out? Any in particular that you are looking for or definitely don't need? No, not really. I have some extra original run Carnaval cards if anyone needs. Do you like this beautiful art, and she makes stickers and prints...SOOOO gorgeous: https://www.shannatr...om/paperprints/ Those are awesome! I love Corvid Love the most with The Dahlia Tree second. Favorite animals or wild creatures or mythological creatures? Hippocampus, equines in general (especially Friesians), unicorns, corvids, ferrets, rats, bats, pibble and lurcher type dogs, dolphins, do gargoyles count as mythological creatures?, hedgehogs, deer. Would you like any swag from the Depeche Mode concert? (pins, posters, shirts, program, dunno what they'll have!) YES I WANT EVERYTHING. But I won't have the monies so I'll probably get a shirt or a necklace or something. Is anyone interested in the new Resistance scents that the Lab just released (Take a Knee and SN: Flor de Maga)? I'm not really interested in either of those scents, although maybe a decant of Flor de Maga would be interesting. I googled it and some people say it smells like jasmine, others that it smells like Champagne. Is anyone here into zero waste, plastic free living, urban homesteading, or any simplicity/minimalism-esque lifestyles? If so, could you use any tools or equipment? We do what we can but it's tough since my dad doesn't have the same mindset and is always buying crap. I would love beeswax food wraps, unpaper towels, plastic free food storage, etc.!! 9/23/17 Are you interested in anything from Bath & Bodyworks? Which products and scents do you like? I don't use any of their stuff that goes on skin so I never take advantage of the free things, but I don't mind their candles, wall flowers, room spray, pillow spray, etc. - I like the lavender cedarwood, vanilla patchouli, frosted cupcake, exotic coconut, fireside marshmallow, honey vanilla, mahogany teakwood... any of the sweet vanilla/mashmallow scents. (I have a 3 wick candle in Winter Night and like that too.) No pumpkin please. What kind of crystals would you like? Anything purple, blue, green, pink, red, white, black... I got a little set of tiny crystals in bottle for making mojo bags (because I needed citrine and since that's yellow, it's not something I would normally get.) I don't have any labradorite and I always welcome quartz, aqua aura, amethyst, hematite, auralite 23, fluorite (especially with a balanced amount of green/purple/white.) Pumpkin or Zucchini bread? I'm not really supposed to have squash but I've been eating zucchini bread. I figure the amount of squash in it is negligible. I make the Smitten Kitchen pumpkin bread and its soooo good. What kind of homemade cookies are your favorite? anything chewy, I don't like crisp/crunchy/crumb makers. Snickerdoodles, pumpkin chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip, pretty much anything. Princess Buttercups were my favorite but not supposed to have peanut butter. Sparkly unicorn poop cookies! (My mom used to make those for me, basically sugar cookies. WUT. I'm over 40, but that doesn't mean I'm too old for Unicorns.) I love spritz, especially almond flavored. Interested in trying some of our rose petal (rose petals, sugar, everclear) or lavender vanilla bean (lavender, vanilla bean, vodka) liqueur? I love rose petal anything. Want some honey from the bees on our property? I want all of the local honey. Would you like some homemade jam? I have blackberry, rose petal, strawberry rhubarb, peach, and cherry. Sure! How about some homemade candied jalapenos with garlic cloves? I have regular and with habanero. NOM NOM NOM I didn't dry any apples this year but I was thinking of heading over to Green Bluff and seeing if any honeycrisps are left. I have a commercial dehydrator so let me know if you are interested in any "Apple Crips" (as voodoocatwoman calls them!) I wash, peel, core, and slice before dehydrating. Yum!!! 9/22/17 Would my witchee like this to warm up the fall coffee cup?? https://www.truelemo...gory-s/1871.htm That sounds good! I'm not a HUGE fan of hot apple cider but once in a while is great. I have some teavana tea that tastes like apple cider too. nom nom. do you like to take baths? if so, do you like oils, salts, things that fizz, all of the above, none of the above? I take baths very very infrequently, I'm mostly a shower person. But I do love me some bath stuffs once in a while!! Yes to oils, salts, things that fizz. What style/make/etc of phone do you have? What about size of tablet? Laptop? Would you like decals, skins, or cases for any of these? I have an iphone 6+ but it's not currently activated so I only use it as a camera, watch, and at places that have wifi... I have a purple otter case for it, so I'm all good there. I have an ipad air 2 (I think) and I recently bought a new case for it but I don't like it very much. It has the tri-fold thing that doesn't work very well on my pillow. I'll have to figure out what my old one was; I bought it at the verizon store when I purchased my ipad ages ago and don't remember the brand or model but it made a hard flat surface and the ipad itself was the stand instead of the case folding, if that makes any sense at all. Worked much better for reading in bed. (I use my ipad mostly as a kindle reader, movie watcher, or web surfer from bed or the couch.) 9/21/17 See's Candy. My absolute favorite. They have special Halloween candy..any of these pique your interest?? Cinnamon Apple Scotch Mallows, Pumpkin spice truffles, pumpkinspice lollypops, caramel apple lollypops, or any other of their chocolates, etc? No pumpkin spice anything, no lollypops, not especially fond of apple flavored things (except actual apples.) I do love some of their other chocolates like the brown sugar truffles and the buttercream truffles. chocolate covered caramels, molasses chips... the "nuts and chews" box (except I'm not supposed to have nuts, boo.) Are any witchees into coloring books? No, sorry. Witchees, is there anything that catches your eye at Animi Causa (https://www.animicausa.com/shop/)? They have super cute kitchen things but I try to avoid "plastic" and "metal" - without other information on materials I'm dubious. I mean, is it BPA free? Stainless? What? If I were to find an adorable autumnal/Halloween-y dish/flatware/etc. design, how many settings would be needed in your household? I was lusting over the skulls and vines from Fiesta but way too expensive plus I'm staying with family so don't need my own right now, it would just be packed up until I get back on my feet and find my own place (if that ever happens, what with all of my health issues. sigh.) I could use one really large platter that is suitably flattish for putting on my altar and using it to group things (candle holders, crystals, goblets, etc.) I was going to do the skulls and vines but they don't offer a large enough plate/platter. 9/20/17 Do you like Broadway shows/music? If so what are some of your favorites and/or ones that you hope to see or listen to eventually? Would you like merch from your favorite shows or CDs from shows you want to listen to? Some. I've seen Phantom. Would have liked to have seen Wicked. Don't really need any CDs and can't think of what merch I'd need. I already have music for Phantom, Cats, and various ALW stuff. (Although Repo The Genetic Opera is really more my style...) I'm heading to NYCC in October! Is there anything I can get my Witchee while I'm there? YES PLEASE. I found a fairy for the con exclusives that I want. Do they bring Dolly Kei to regular cons or just anime ones? Some of the other unreleased scents might be fun. I have The Beldam but I think there are some unreleased Coraline and other scents that they take to cons. I have the three Steampunky airship ones. Honestly, I probably want Eclipses and Liliths more though. I'm going to Edmonton Expo this weekend (It's Edmonton's version of comic con). Would a witchee like anything from there? Ummm maybe? I have no idea what is there. When I go to cons I end up buying artwork or bidding on it anyway. Each piece speaks differently to me. You could look at my etsy or pinterest artwork categories to see what I'm attracted to. I love games too... I have Exploding Kittens but I'd love expansions or Cards Against Humanity (although I really don't have anyone to play with. I could always take it to Seattle when I visit and make people come over and play.) Anything catch your eye from this site (globalgirlfriend.com)? No, sorry. Do you have any favorite, lesser-known stores? Especially ones that sell hand-crafted or independently made items. Lots of stuff on etsy. I'm lusting over a bunch of Fresh from the Cauldron yarn. Also KnitCircus yarn OMG. And Twisted Fiber Art makes lovely yarn. WHAT I LIKE YARN. But yes, I definitely prefer indie hand crafted stuff over stuff from big box stores. My friend Sara runs The Sticky Wrapper and makes excellent caramels, she also does bath bombs under another name (Skinful Essentials) but she doesn't have a lot listed in her store right now. Imagine you're going to the most gigantic art & craft show imaginable, and money is no object - what kind of things would you gravitate towards and probably spend money on? Include as specific as you want to get! I'd probably gets tons of yarn. And possibly wall art and jewelry (even though I never wear it. I'm always attracted to sparkly shiny gems and crystals.) 9/19/17 Are you interested in anything from Think Geek? http://www.thinkgeek.com Yes, I have a wishlist linked to my SW Help. AND OMG PRINCESS BRIDE TRAVEL MUG AND GAMES. Do you have something you wish you put on your original questionnaire/forgot to put/would like to add on to? Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm don't remember right now? Any additional misc. information about yourself you want your Witch to know? (I think this was on the survey, but again if there's something that you forgot...) Not that I can remember right now. (where's that remembrall?) If you could decorate your house (or one room) in any one theme, what would it be? Your answer can be as simple ("Star Wars" or "Baroque" or "Modern"), or complicated or a combination (e.g. Victorian Gothic) as you feel best fits. Either super gothic castle or something out of Skyrim. gargoyles, grotesques, grey stone, plush velvet hangings. Aprons: Do you wear them, do you want one? Utility, decorative, cooking or crafting? I have some aprons packed up with the rest of my stuff somewhere (a black one with a skeleton - I had a bones/skull/skeleton theme going in my kitchen.) I can't find my hair cutting apron so something like that might be useful since I still cut hair once a month or so. (It would need pockets. Like the BPAL apron would probably be perfect.) BTW, would my witchee be interested in something like this? (photo of black and white striped knitted doll) Stuffies and plushies and knitted dolls would die a horrible death by Zuul here. She would shake and shake and shake and rip and tear and eviscerate gleefully. 9/18/17 It seems like there's a question about socks on the questionnaire, but I don't think it got down to this level: Do you wear them? Any particular style (crew length, knee high, anklet, boot, etc.) or fiber (wool, cotton, bamboo anything but wool, etc.) preference? No socks please. Would you be open to previously-loved books? No books please. What about partial-full bottles of BPAL or BPTP? Those are always fine. Fandoms? I would totally wear hoodies or use things that are related to my fandoms. Fabric would be especially fun (I already have a good amount of NMBC, MLP, Doctor Who, and some Zelda and GoT fabric.) Also YARN - I have so much yarn on my etsy wishlist that is related to Supernatural or one of my other fandoms. Patrick Rothfuss' King Killer Chronicles!!!! I have the middle piece for a TAK game that was sold last November (can wear as a piece of jewelry, etc.) but could really use the board, pieces, instructions, etc. for TAK. The Tinker's Packs (https://thetinkerspacks.com/) has clothing, cards, jewelry, calendars, etc. They also have Dresden stuff. And artwork. And BPAL. (I already have all of those BPAL but I love going over to that website and lusting over all of the hoodies and jewelry, even if I don't normally wear jewelry.) Also love LOTR, Zelda, NMBC, Firefly, Harry Potter, Buffy, Princess Bride, Game of Thrones, Doctor Who (especially Weeping Angels), MLP (not as much, but a little), Guardians of the Galaxy, V for Vendetta, Doctor Horrible, Twin Peaks, Red Dwarf, Supernatural, Stranger Things, Dresden Files, etc. There are SO MANY I am forgetting - I don't remember them until I look at a website and then squee in joy over something. My NMBC pj bottoms died so now I have some Groot PJ's. 9/17/17 I'm in France at the moment, is there anything here you might like? I'm in Provence, the land of lavender, so if you like that flower in particular just say so! I love lavender! France is also the land of magical tea - I have a very extensive tea wish list from Mariage Freres and Damman Freres on my Amazon edibles wish list. I have way too much tea but I'd never say no to tea from Mariage Freres. The butterscotch is to die for. are you into divination? What kind(s) do you currently do? Do you want more books and/or tools for that type (e.g. new tarot cards, new runes)? Is there a new type of #divination you've been meaning to try, and if so, are you looking for the tool, a book on the subject, or both? I haven't been active doing it for many years - I'd love a new set of Tarot or Runes. I have a vampire set somewhere. OMG THE LAST UNICORN TAROT SET KICKSTARTER. (dies) 9/16/17 Favorite gemstones? I think we covered this in the original questionnaire? I'll paste my answer from that. anything blue, purple, grey, or black. I flove Alexandrite (especially with a deep purple and a good blue color change as opposed to pink/green), tanzanite, amethyst, hematite, moonstone, opal, etc. Not necessarily for jewelry but I have some auralite 23, celestite, snakeskin agate, spirit quartz, aqua aura, etc. I love Ellensburg's Blue Agate. If you enjoy jewelry do you like discrete and elegant, flashy and gaudy, small and light, or large and chunky? No flashy, gaudy, large, or chunky. But not tiny either. Any love of pirates or SCA? yes, I like dressing up and going to the local Ren Faire (they even have a pirate weekend.) I wouldn't mind playing more with SCA but I just don't have the energy; I have a bunch of friends in Seattle who are in it and I loved going to their events and feasts. I have a great medieval cookbook (The Bors Hede book of cookry) that we make stuff from all the time... My son used to wear his pirate hat ALL THE TIME in public. He's already 7' tall so stands out anyway... Is there anything you would like from Disney World? All of the Nightmare Before Christmas!! I'd love more canisters and bowls/plates. No coffee cups though unless they are both 1) ceramic and 2) have a lid to keep out flying bugs (no plastic please.) Are you a Potterhead? If so, to which house do you belong? All of the quizzes put me in Hufflepuff, which kind of used to annoy me, but the Honey Badger IS my spirit animal.... plus I'd totally be like Newt if I could. So I guess that's ok. (I despise yellow though, so really only the slytherin colors are good unless you're going with blue/silver as Ravenclaw, but it SHOULD be blue/bronze, ugh.) Send me all the chocolate frogs. How do you feel about chokers? Too tight? I'm old and getting that fat neck/chin thing and chokers just emphasize it. 9/15/17 Here's a few questions from me: Would you like some Halloween or other themed decor in the form of a banner, something like this http://www.etsy.com/...n-decor-vintage? If so, would you prefer a traditional style or a vertical door type? Sorry, but that style is SO NOT ME. I absolutely loathe orange and brown - and have zero place for banners since I'm staying with other people. Also we live in trumpland and the people around here are super judgy about halloween things, so I try to keep all of my bats and skulls in my room. Do you live near a Trader Joe's? If not, are you interested in trying any of the numerous Pumpkin goodies they come out with this time every year? I live near a Trader Joes so I'm good. I have already tried the chocolate mousse pumpkins to see if they would be something I could ship to a witchee. They're not sealed or packed well enough unfortunately (too fresh bakery type things) but damn they're good. Also I loathe pumpkin spice so please don't get me anything "pumpkin" flavored, bleah. I like REAL pumpkin but squash is one of the things to limit with kidney issues. I might have to have some pumpkin bread anyway. (A reminder, I can't have nuts or dried fruit either.) Do you like to cook and/or bake? Could you use any specific ingredients (spices, oils, salts, extracts, etc.) or kitchen utensils/gadgets? I like to cook and bake but my dad is really weird about food, and the fridge and kitchen being his. He's ALWAYS in the way and I just prefer no drama so I stay out of there as much as possible. no gadgets please, there would be fights over where to put them since everything is HIS. Parents have a very well stocked spice cabinet and I've already bought most of the medieval spices I need except for a few. (Spikenard, cassia buds, cubebs, poudre forte, poudre douce. You can get the latter two at World Spice Merchants in Seattle. Spikenard is finally back in stock at Rose Mountain Herbs but they were out of cubebs. I think Starwest Botanicals has cubebs or maybe they could be found at an indian or international grocery. Most of the prices on Amazon for them are way too high.) No salts please, can't have salt with kidney issues. I'm probably good on oils. I love honey flavored vinegar if you can find that anywhere but it's probably on the spendy side (and most of the salads I do these days come with their own dressing, which is what I would use it for.) I could use a 32oz PerfecTea maker (Teavana) but not really a super priority. I'm at Ocean City MD for bike week......would a witches want anything from here? Bike or beach related?? ummm sure, I love beach glass and shells and sand dollars and stuff. What is 1 thing you would love to see in your final box? Can be ANYTHING - your choice. Lots of love! Ok, I have had some flashes of things I *REALLY* want. The Princess Bride travel mug from ThinkGeek. Canon Sweet Hots (mild) -- they don't sell them anywhere around here but you can look up what retail stores carry them on their website. Doh! That part of their webpage is broken. It looks like they've changed owners and are now located in New Mexico. If you have a store around you that sells them, I would LOVE LOVE LOVE a jar or twenty. (*wink*) I guess I could just order some off of their website but I never think about it and I hate paying $9 shipping for just a couple of things. Who would love some USPS eclipse stamps? ooh, me me me 9/14/17 Do any of you potential Witchees have any kitties, puppers, or youngling humans you want spoiled in your packages? What treats or toys do they like? I have Miss Zuul (pupper) and I'm sure she would love to be spoiled (although she already is...) I feed grainless treats and nothing that comes from China. Prefer no chicken jerky. She has her own section on my Amazon WL "For the Pups". She adores squeaky toys but they have to be really hardcore indestructible or she'll kill them immediately. Is there any interest in any of the fragrance oils from the Nocturne Alchemy Weenies update? Heck yeah. I added those to my SW Help list (in my signature) already. I'm probably way more interested in those than in the BPAL halloweenie update, sad but true. Probably because they're a new thing for me. Is there anything you want from the trading post (or trading post etsy) that is available to order right now? (Fatherhood, Puppers, normal GC things) In my ISO and Wishlist! I REALLY want Wednesday's Child (bottle) and decants of Granite and Pickle. I wonder when Liliths are going down, I hope not until November. 9/13/17 Are you a gamer? If so, what games are you currently playing and is there any merch for that game you'd love to have? - Yes, I love games! I'm playing Ultima Online, Diablo III, and Skyrim. I have a WII but I'd love to get a Wii U and the new Zelda games for that. Merch? Not so much really. Some Zelda things are cute but they would have to be something useful? I haven't seen much Skyrim stuff I like except for pint glasses, but meh, I don't really need glasses. I'm not big on knick knacks or stickers. Unless I want them. If you are a gamer do you have a steam/gamestop/amazon wishlist? - I think there are games on my amazon wishlist (under GAMES) and I have a very small Steam wishlist. Oh! I have a wishlist on GOG. How do you feel about the following scarf options (assuming you're into scarves)? I don't want any scarves, thank you. I *do* love long skinny shawlettes that are kind of like scarves but aren't. It's a semantics thing maybe. Like beer? What styles most appeal to you? I like stouts occasionally and sometimes some ales (not IPA), but normally I don't drink beer. I do love me some sweet hard ciders though. Like booze? What kinds? Pretty much all kinds... I have huge bottles of baileys, kahlua, whipped cream vodka, sinfire, amaretto, and malibu rum. Could use fun flavored vodkas or whatever. (no fruit or bacon. Maybe other vanilla type flavors?) Like Wine? What kinds? Sweet meads, ice wine, and tawny port. Aesir Mead in Everett, WA is fantastic but I'd try sweet (no dry please) mead from any small meadery. (I've tried everything from Sky River and Chaucers, which seem to the be the ones sold in grocery stores. I'm local to Heirophant so I've tried all of their stuff. There is another in Tukwila, Washington that I've bought some bottles from but haven't cracked them open yet. Also have some "mead" from Ireland (Bunratty) but it's actually pyment since it has both honey and grapes. Mead just has honey.) I'd actually love cool local honey to make mead with. and maybe some kind of more in depth instructions on making the best mead, what equipment you need, yeast, etc. Would you be interested in a set of hand-made hair falls? It's something I do for fun and I can make any length and do an array of colors! I'm hopeless at attaching them since my hair is shaved on the sides/back so I'm not even sure they would work. (Plus I never go anywhere.) For those who watch certain movies every year for Halloween, what are those movies, whether horror or not? Any favorite horror movies that aren't necessarily on the annual-viewing list? How do you feel about fan-made merch for these movies? Practical Magic, Sleepy Hollow (Tim Burton), Nightmare Before Christmas. I don't know that I'll be able to watch them this year since my movies are all packed up and out in a shed somewhere while I'm staying with family. Favorite movies not on the halloween list? Well, yes, lots, but. Princess Bride! Lord of the Rings. Guardians of the Galaxy. Stardust. Harry Potter. I'd love fan-made things. 9/12/17 Here's a great local soapmaker I love--y'all see anything you would like? https://littleseedfarm.com/ products: Liquid soap, sugar scrub, body oil, elasticity serum. (NO bar soap) -- my son would LOVE the beard oil. Maybe in bourbon. scents: lavender, rosemary mint, rosemary patchouli What are your favorite/preferred Halloween/autumn icons/images? Any to specifically stay away from? Bats!! Also skulls, sugar skulls, ravens. Please no orange pumpkins, witches, ghosts, zombies, spiders, etc. Black and white pumpkins are good. velvet purple or blue pumpkins are good (with black or silver stems.) Do you eat candy, and if so would Halloween candy be welcome? Specialty candy from local or unusual sources? Chocolate? I eat candy... Halloween candy is ok. Prefer chocolate. I have lots of specialty chocolate on my amazon edibles list. Moonstruck, Frans, Seattle Chocolates, Dolfin, Vosges, Rittersport, all good. Your local places would be fun to try! Just no salted caramels since I am not supposed to have salt. (believe me, there is so much sadness over this.) Do you want Fidget spinners, desk toys, or other frivolous things that you look at and decide you don't need enough to spend $ on but would make you happy to have? No knick knacks or things that are super frivolous and take up space. I have SO MANY desk toys that are all packed up and put away because I have zero room. Any zentangle lovers, people who would like to try it, or would you want a piece of someone else's zentangle art? I am not an artist. I wouldn't mind a piece of someone else's art, especially if it came to me in fabric form so I could make bags with it. Any love of hair toys, clips, ribbons, fascinators, mini hats, etc? Nope, my hair is usually shaved on sides/backs and teased/spiked on top. What local goodies may be of interest? Local Honey, jams, candy? I always love to try local honey (from beekeepers or markets only please, not from grocery stores.) Wouldn't say no to jams (although we have SO MUCH JAM and I can't have peanut butter, so I haven't been eating any - but it would be an excuse to make scones, nom nom nom) and candy! I love going to farmer's markets and sampling things. Are you interested in any subscription services like serial magazines, Birch box, ipsy? Forest Nui Cobalt's crone boxes, yes! And Shihaya's boxes! Any kind of cool indie box thing with candles, incense, bath and body stuff, etc. Loot crate! Bark Box! No magazines and I'm not super into make up or nail polish. I don't know what else in in birch box or ipsy. Would you like funky Halloweenie costume makeup like Gothic eyelashes, nail effects, black lipstick, etc.? No, thank you. Not right now since I am a hermit and never leave the house anymore. How do you like to listen to music? CD, 8 track tape, mix tape, Pandora or Spotify, I-tunes? Very rarely I listen to music in my car on CD or my ipod. (itunes.) Do you prefer reading on Kindle or actual book? What kind of books do you like? Would you like to be surprised with a scary, classic, horror book? Kindle, but I really don't want any books right now. If you REALLY wanted to get me a book, I have tons to choose from in my Amazon wishlist. Please sort by priority. Unless they are marked as VERY HIGH or HIGH, I probably already have them but have just put them on this list to remind me to look for them in one of my boxes in the sheds or I want to read them again so I look for them at the library. Edit: I went through and moved/deleted tons of things from my amazon book wishlist. There is some other stuff in there that isn't too expensive that I wouldn't mind having. Candles, Incense, or wax tarts? Do you have favorite brands or Weenies scents for the home? Would you like to receive a wax tarts burner, incense burner, essential oils diffuser, or Halloweenie themed candle holders? I really like the Black Magic scent from Yankee Candle but it doesn't look like they have it this year? I also like Witches Brew (but I have like four huge jar candles from years past that I haven't even lit yet) and I'd be up for trying Haunted Hollow. The Fragrance Spheres would be fun. I have plenty of wax tart burners (electronic and tea light), diffusers, etc. Don't really need any candle holders - I used to sell for PartyLite and I have 50 boxes of candles and holders packed up in the barn. Now if I saw a super cute votive or pillar holder with bats or ravens or skulls, I would probably cave and want it. I mostly burn only votives, pillar candles (3" diameter), 3-wick pillar candles (8-9" diameter), or jar candles. I used to make candles for Sweet Spirit (and my own company) and really would like to start making my own again. I adore candles from Big Dipper Candles in Seattle, they make all beeswax candles (and one of the dogs that I fostered works there.) Just the plain beeswax or maybe Rapture or Lavender. or beeswax candles from anywhere! I have some candles on my amazon wishlists. Witchee: are you interested in crafting materials? Yes, I have wishlists for The Loopy Ewe, Knit Picks, and a "crafting material" wishlist on Amazon. Oh, and etsy of course. 9/11/17 I'm in Japan, is there anything specific from here you would want? I like the awesome kit kats! (I can get green tea and strawberry flavored here. Any other flavors would be fun!) I dunno what else, whatever you think I might like. I used to collect Starbucks Bears and City Mugs so Japan only things might be fun. How do you feel about nail wraps? I have a friend who is always pushing jamberry at me and I finally bought some (over a year ago) to shut her up but I've never used them and don't even know where they are after moving. I was not excited about all of the fussing with putting them on. I was kind of eyeing the Nightmare Before Christmas ones last year but did not buy them. if you were to receive something hand knit, what type of item would you like? hat, cowl, handwarmers, etc. and what color(s)? - would you use knitted washcloths? a scarf? Are you allergic or sensitive to any fibers? As a knitter, I am already overflowing with hand knit things. I don't wear hats, cowls, or scarves normally. I loathe triangle shaped shawls. If you're a knitter, you're probably friended with me on Ravelry (or you can go look at my profile and see my favorites and other details.) I have some bundles called "Make for Me" and some swap specific bundles for halloween/vampire swaps that I would be delighted to receive things from. I don't use knitted washclothes right now (I usually do when I have my own place but I have zero room to store things.) I hate acrylic, please don't make me anything with acrylic or send me any acrylic yarn. I'm not fond of cashmere or BFL either. My favorite fibers are merino or merino and silk, although I've come across some really nice merino, cashmere, silk yarns. Right now I prefer DK or Worsted weight yarn unless I'm planning on making a shawl in which case I prefer fingering. Oh colors -- I love black (sorry, I know it sucks to knit with black if your eyes are going), gradients especially, jewel tone blues (no navy), purples, greens, reds. Especially with black over them, like MadTosh's tart. White is ok in a gradient, like white to purple or white to red. No pastels or neons. Do you like and/or want anything from Elements and Artifacts? You can be vague like "yes" or "no" or name specific past pieces you coveted or current ones you love, whatever works best. Yes, I have some in my etsy favorites under jewelry. I have a sugar skull, two different bats, a silver rose leaf, and some amethyst pieces from her. Would you like something hand sewn by your Witch? A dress, shirt, skirt, infinity scarf, something else? It's a very nice gesture, but I don't wear scarves and I think anything else would be too difficult to fit without a seamstress taking measurements. My mom sews and we have a company making cosmetic and project bags. Occasionally we make medieval costumes or clothes. Anyone want any kind of costuming accessories or makeup or odds and ends? I hardly ever wear anything except eyeliner and eyebrow powder (I have to draw on eyebrows since I don't have any and my tattoos are fading.) I have realized that I don't have any good lipstick, so some lippies would be welcome. I like blue leaning plums. I could use really good mascara - I have really long blonde eyelashes but they aren't very thick. Most mascara clumps on me and makes a mess. I have contacts so I probably need water soluble. 9/10/17 Are there any hobbies or crafts you've been thinking of trying, but haven't had the chance yet? I have been sent honey to make mead, but I haven't had the chance to do it yet. I also have recently acquired a very small amount of knitted blanks for yarn dyeing and need to do that. I have a small assortment of things to start doing stitch markers, but I need more supplies and some learning. I have items to do needle felting but again with the learning. I also have a few things to do cross stitch but my eyes have gotten so bad that I feel like I can't see -- time to go to the optometrist again. Would you want to receive a custom spell kit or magical tea? If so, what purpose would you want it to be for? Money and prosperity in general are always good, happiness, good luck, health, clear thinking. Something (I typed someONE haha!) to mend a broken heart and move on. Blackthorn Hoodoo Blends Tea I'm interested in, for example: Adam and Eve Tea All Father Beltane Cauldron of Rebirth Come to Me (Come Hither Mojo box would be awesome) Cry on my Shoulder Fiery Wall of Protection Florida Water Follow me Boy Hecate Imbolc Lammas Road Opener Run Devil Run Samhain Santa Muerte The White Witch Triple Fast Luck White Magic Woman in Red Yule Do you like poetry? Sure, some. I have plans for some poetry mitts some day. Anyone like handmade critters, stuffed animals, or custom repaints? Any plushies are likely to be killed by Zuul; she gleefully eviscerates them. Custom repaints on MLP are fun though! I love the Doctor Horrible and Cthulhu ones I've seen. Would you enjoy any designer/specialty yarn for your own craftyness? *looks over at huge yarn wishlists on etsy and TLE* I would think that speaks for itself! I am admittedly kind of a yarn snob and I buy mostly indie yarns. Twisted Fiber Arts is one of my favorites but they're getting to be out of my price range unless I buy from destashes on Ravelry. Fresh from the Cauldron is awesome, I have a ton of things from her on my yarn wishlist. It's all kind of spendy though! Please provide wishes from the last two updates? I will, precious, I will! It'll go in my ISO post that is linked to my wishlist (in my sig.) UPDATE - I have UPDATEd my wishlist with the last UPDATE wishes. 9/9/17 Would you be interested in things from Future Primitive? (http://futureprimitivesoap.co.uk/) I'd be up for trying any of the bath, body, or hair items -- just no bar soap please. None of the Autumn scents look good to me but I found a scent list under the bath grains and I'm interested in: Bell Book & Candle, Festival, Rook & Raven, Sylph, and White Witch. Are there any UK things you'd like to get? All the chocolate! I like things like Curly Wurly bars and probably whatever local truffles or chocolate. Local tea is fun although I have *so much* tea it isn't funny. I don't really know since I haven't ever visited the UK except for a short layover in the airport. Whatever you think I'd like! (My friend was just in Ireland and brought me back some some bottles of mead and some different kinds of chocolate and fudge with beer and whiskey in them. nom!) Are you into podcasts? If so, what are your favorites? Would you like any merch related to any of them? No, sorry. I'm interested in Nightvale but not enough to dink around with podcasts. Would you like something from Nui Cobalt Designs (https://nuicobaltdesigns.com/)? I would love one of the holiday crones crate boxes, incense, oils... I'll have to do a more in depth look and give a list. I love her talismans and incense but the talismans are spendy and I have respiratory issues, so incense probably isn't the best thing for me even though I love it. Bath salts? Or maybe some of Christina's lovely Halloween candles at Sihaya & Co. (https://www.sihayaandcompany.com/collections/halloween-collection-candles)? I've been mooning over those, har har!! I'd love Sisterhood of the Moon. I would have liked one of the Athena boxes but I couldn't justify spending $80 on myself when it's Switch Witch time! ILNP? Who would love one of their awesome holos like MEGA or one of their amazing chromes? http://www.ilnp.com/ I really don't wear nail polish that often on my hands BUT OMG. I like: Raven, Abyss, Moonstone, Birefringence, Westwing, By Nightfall, Ava, Walking Home, Missed Calls, Deja Vu.... 9/8/17 Do you enjoy stationery? I'm thinking cute/quality notebooks, washi tape, stickers, fun pens etc. I have issues with my hands not working and I find it really hard to write anything (so I rarely even include notes in packages, I suck!) so no pens or notebooks or anything like that for me please. I do love and USE spooky washi tape (bats, skulls, etc.) when mailing out BPAL because it's easier to get off the bubble wrap and then people can re-use the bubble wrap instead of throwing it away but I'll be honest - I have enough washi tape to last me for over a year. Stickers are more of a meh but if they were really cute and to my taste, I would use them. I love bats and skulls and snarky unicorns. Are you interested in anything from Cocoa Pink? - Scent wise: Black, Black Marshmallow, Black Vanilla, Black Velvet, Black Widow, Broomstick, Come-hither, Cozy Blanket, Fear of Ghosts, Genevieve, Lipstick Stains, Marshmallow, Monster in the Walls, Naughty, Sensory Deprivation Tank, Stanley Hotel, The Upside-Down, Vanilla on the Rocks, Vanilla Rose, - Product wise: ShampPink shampoo, dermabrasion sample, I'm 29 serum, either the coco mango or the voluptuous body butters, linen spray, sugar scrub. No perfume please. - Or Haus of Gloi? - Scent wise for bath products (not perfume), I'm interested in Grimoire and The Horseman. And non halloween, I've always wanted to try the Haus Amber. Also Cozy Sweater, Lavender Sugar, Moon Dog, A Place in Space all sound good. - For perfume only, the birthday ambers are on sale and I was wanting to try Amber & Rose, Amber & Incense, or Amber Noir. The Fall Black Musks are killing me, I love black musk. I'm most interested in Black Musk & Nag Champa, Black Musk, Leather & Rose, Black Musk, Anise & Vanilla. I've never smelled their black musk though, so I hope it's good! - Product wise: No soap or hair gloss please. I like their lip balms (no chocolate or coffee, prefer vanilla/honey/rose/lavender/mint), pumpkin butter, sugar exfoliant, and would be happy to try the candles and bathing dust. I would like to try the butterbombs in vanilla amber or marshmallow. Maybe Sleepy Time but I'm not sure what scents are in it yet since the Fall Part II isn't up until October. Would you be interested in a Halloween wreath? If you were to make it, sure! I love black, black and white, black and blood red, black and purple, (but no red and purple together - white is ok with black & ), skulls, bats, ravens... I'm a huge NMBC fan. absolutely no brown, yellow, orange or country cute type stuff, gothy only for me. I like the two black and white ones but I don't like the one with little balls all over it. Have you seen the (Lush Halloween collection.) And what would you like? ALL THE THINGS. I love Lord of Misrule but I still have a large shower gel from last year. Goth fairy shimmer bar? I do love their bath bombs, perfume, shower gel, powders, greased lightning, angels on bare skin, and some of their moisturizers. I like their rose, jasmine, patchouli.. pretty much everything really. (except the lip stuff, I don't need any of that. I prefer tubes and non-tinted for lip balm.) My favorite scents are Blue Skies & Fluffy Clouds, Twilight, Lust, Candy Fluff, Snowcake, Rose Jam, Butterball, Silky Underwear, Tramp, etc. (I haven't liked any of their plain vanilla scents like vanilliary.) 9/7/17 Are you interested in anything from the Moonalisa Halloween update? - Scent wise: Cedarwood & Patchouli, Mad Heriot's Parlor, Witch Wood, The Witching Hour, Rumpkin (I don't usually like pumpkin, but I do like pumpkin & lavender.) Also curious about: Conjuring Room, Dusty Attic, Forever~ and ever, and ever, Come Play With Us, - Product wise: 4in1, Butter Rich Cream, Bath Brew, Carpet Fresh, Dusting Powder, Room Spray, Sugarload Scrub, Sugar Scrubby Scrub, Milk Bath, Lip Butter (Burnt Sugar, Maple Sugar, or Butterscotch Marshmallow), and the scented candles. I also like her perfume. (But no soap, potion lotion, or hair gloss please.) What are your coffee and/or tea preferences? Organic when possible. - Coffee: whole beans or ground? Whole bean (except I don't know if I can find my grinder or my french press.) Since moving here, I have been using the Keurig. I really like Peet's and Seattle's Best K-Cups but my family already buys those so not really a priority. - Flavor and roast preferences? Sumatra, Hazelnut, Toffee. Dark roasts usually. - Tea: black, green, herbal, flavors? Black. I've been using Harney & Son's tea capsules for the Keurig in Hot Cinnamon Spice, Paris, and Peppermint because I don't usually feel good enough to wait for water to boil and tea to steep. I have about 6 book sized boxes full of tea that I couldn't fit in the house, so really I don't need any tea. I do need to brew some rose flavor, ginger peach, or licorice mint every so often though. - Loose leaf or tea bags? Again, I've been using the Keurig. Otherwise I'd do loose leaf. - Anything specific you don't like? I don't particularly like anything besides black tea (especially flavored) except for the mint/licorice blends (Aveda Tea is SO GOOD) and a few Traditional Medicinal blends like Breathe Easy. - Are you in need of any gadgetry? I could actually use one of the LARGE perfect tea makers from teavana (the 32oz?) - I have a smaller one but I use 20oz + mugs so it doesn't fill them. I really do NOT need coffee mugs unless you can find a ceramic 20oz size with a lid. I love my Weeping Angel mug from Think Geek that has a nice ceramic lid on it - there are so many little flying bugs around here that they land in my tea, so I ONLY use mugs with lids but I prefer the ceramic ones. I'm trying to avoid plastics but stainless or glass is also ok if dishwasher safe; I'm liable to break glass and stainless seems expensive which is why I ask for ceramic. Think Geek also has a Zelda mug with a lid AND HEY, it's BACK IN STOCK!! Um, I'm tempted to get it but I will refrain. Edit: I had to buy something that wasn't on sale in order to use my $10 off. Now I wish I'd waited because PRINCESS BRIDE STUFF WAS RELEASED TODAY. I MUST HAVE THE PRNCESS BRIDE COLORING CHANGING TRAVEL MUG. MUST. HAVE. There is a 20% off link on my facebook..... 9/6/17 How would you feel about receiving a hand-painted container for your bpal and/or other treasures? Who is into K-Beauty (Korean beauty products like sheet masks) Um, I have no idea what these are. I was always a tom boy and -- even though I went to beauty school -- never really learned a lot about how to put on makeup. Beauty school was all about the hair, which I am extremely comfortable with perming, colouring, and shaving. *giggle* - What are your faves if you are? See above. - If you aren't would you like to try something? I have super oily skin so I try to moisturize multiple times a day, but my skin is also really sensitive and breaks out at the drop of a hat. Good moisturizer is my number one need. So far the "Kiss My Face" ones seem to do the best (besides the ones I can't afford, like LUSH or Bobby Brown!) I'm one of those organic if possible, phthalate free, no parabens, etc. people. But Grocery Outlet gets leftovers from Whole Foods and Co-ops, so I buy a lot of organic lotions and creams there for $1-3. What are some NEW things you've gotten interested in this year? Could be anything, from a new hobby, new genre of book, new healthy way of living, new fav brand of whatever... I've finally been bitten by Nocturne Alchemy and made my first purchase last December right before they closed the shop. I love all of their vanillas I've tried and would love to try their ambers, like Eternal Ankh. I have Black Musk, Ember Vanilla, Vampire Vanilla Bat (from a swap), Hygieia (from a swap), Crystal, Crystalline, Kobalt, Pyramid Vanille, Gothic, Lavender Dolphin (a gift and I LOVE IT SO MUCH), and Vanille Noir (another gift - the one that made me decide to try them!) I received a sample "vile" of Tomb of the Undead and I love that too. I love all of them except Gothic - even though it had perfect notes, it just doesn't scream to me. So would definitely love to try more!! I'm a huge fan of vanilla, musk, patchouli, sandalwood, amber, etc. I put a huge list of what sounds good in my SW Help link. I was sent some honey and yeast to make mead - I'd love more instructions on how to do this and what kind of equipment I need. (I need a lot of hand holding!) Also this year we have discovered that my kidneys may hate me, so new ways of eating are happening. Basically I'm not supposed to eat anything that I like. 9/5/17 What are your feelings about Scooby Doo? Um, I used to watch it as a kid and I might have even seen the movies but I don't think I would buy any merchandise or do cosplay or anything. How do you feel about indie makeup (read: loose eyeshadow, blush, highlighter)? I love indie makeup! I have tons of eyeshadow but I rarely have an opportunity to wear it. I haven't really worn makeup for at least a year since I've been staying here in the middle of nowhere. I know zero people in this city and don't ever go anywhere. I can always use good mascara as long as it doesn't bother my contacts. I have really really long eyelashes but they're a light color so hard to see without mascara. I never wear blush. I prefer having ultra pale skin but I might have tanned a little bit out here. O_o (My foundation has SPF but since I haven't been wearing it...) I could use some lipsticks! I like blue leaning plums. I drink this stuff almost everyday would anyone else be interested in trying it out? https://www.criobru.com/ Sounds lovely! I love drinking chocolate and the roast is intriguing. (I'm probably not SUPPOSED to with my kidney weirdness but I haven't officially been put on food restrictions yet.) Not the pumpkin spice -- NEVER the pumpkin spice. (shudder) The cinnamon one sounds good, the cherry tobacco one sounds fabulous, any of the more chocolate tasting ones would be to my preference. 9/4/17 Would you like one of the Teeturtle Halloween shirts? OMG those are so cute. I think the relaxed woman's 2x would work for me. I love: * Dia de los Unicorns * NIGHT FURY GLOW IN THE DARK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! * Stabby the Unicorn (not halloween, not the pink one) * Nevermore (not halloween) * Prickly on the inside (not halloween) * Dangerous (not halloween) * Batty for You * Murder of Crows * Resting Witch Face * I <3 Candy Corn * Bat-O-Lantern * Unicorn-O-Lantern * Werewolves for Change * Stabbing Pumpkins and like 5,000 more. All the unicorns, bats, ravens, hedgehogs, groot... Driver picks the music, haha!! I love the Supernatural ones too. THERE ARE TOO MANY.

In the bottle: A little too bakery/foodie. I was dubious. Wet on skin: Pretty much SN Cardamom on me. Dry down: Vanilla is coming out with the cardamom yet it is managing to NOT be a gourmand scent. Yum!

I'm getting snake oil, lavender, and vanilla right off the bat and I swear I can smell cocoa butter. Also a bit of Jasmine sambac? Dry, this reminds me a lot of Lush's Silky Underwear.

Solstice Swap & 12 Days of Christmas Swap answers
twilighteyes posted a blog entry in Miss Twilight's Blog
Solstice Swap: If I made some ephemeral art that was meant to be burned as the sacrifice, would you have a safe place to do that (a fireplace, a backyard, a bbq grill lol)? Nothing big, maybe 6 inches tall. Yes, I have places to burn ALL THE THINGS. Or just something small. We actually have a large bonfire area and a grill. No fireplace. Would you want something from this website for your "light"? Sorry, they are not really my style. Would people want a relaxing CD or a recording of the rainforest, or are people looking for things like mix CDs or something from a favorite artist? I kind of liked the idea someone had of wind chimes or bells. I'm really picky about my music unless it's on my wishlist. I do have music on my wishlist though! I don't mind getting thumbdrives or cds with mp3s. Would you, Snowflake, be interested in getting a bracelet or pendant necklace as a "charm" for banishment or protection or shifting energy or bringing in luck? If so, what's your preference (bracelet, necklace pendant), size (wrist size, chain length), what metals to you prefer (copper, sterling silver?), and what colors /stones do you have an affinity for? I like about 19" length in necklaces and would need about 8" for a bracelet. I am allergic to everything metal except (for sure) sterling silver and surgical steel. I would love charms for protection, luck, job finding, school decision making, monies, romance/life partner finding, friend finding, what-to-do-with-my-life knowing, etc. (I know! I want so much! How about lottery winning? That goes under luck and monies, right??) I might use a charm more if I could anoint it with skin safe oils and if it had a long enough cord (rat tail cord or soft leather?) to just put off and on over my head. I don't mind bracelets but I VERY RARELY wear any jewelry at all except my BPTP scent locket. I do have a protective charm in my car hanging from my rearview mirror (that I acquired in a Switch Witch swap!) I'm planning on making mojo bags for monies, protection, beauty, romance, etc. so charms to go in or on the outside of those would be fun. I have an affinity for blues, purples, greys, blacks. Tanzanite, alexandrite (prefer blue/purple - not pink/green), amethyst, hematite, moonstone, opal/black opal, sapphire, aqua aura, azurite, iolite, kyanite, sodalite, fluorite, obsidian, onyx, black spinel, black tourmaline, snowflake obsidian, tourmalinated quartz, black star sapphire, etc. So, are you the type that likes no color added at all, natural colorants and herbs, or rainbow glitter bombs ? I don't mind color added as long as it on the natural side. No phthalates, SLS, parabens, pro. glycol, -cones, etc. Prefer no glitter. Glitter is the herpes of the craft world. Mica is ok. Herbs are ok if they're almost totally pulverized so they don't clog our septic system or drains. I'm ok with coconut oil, shea butter, cocoa butter, etc. I don't have any allergies that I'm aware of to essential or fragrance oils other than sometimes I get contact dermatitis if I apply oils in the same exact area too many times in a row. I have to switch it up. What's the best format to send you a whole music playlist (instead of an album)? Do you have a service you already use? Would you like it on a USB, iTunes, Spotify, etc? I'm kind of picky about my music as I think I said before... I wouldn't mind getting music on my wish list. either on mp3 or on cd. Since one of the options for the sacrifice is an item to give away, I'm curious if there are any people, organizations, or causes that you like to give something away to? It could be anything - a charity you wish you could donate to, a stranger you see at the coffee shop who you've always wanted to do something nice for, an obnoxious coworker you'd like to receive one of those glitter-by-mail packages, whatever. I support some pibble rescue groups but I'm no where near them to give them anything and I rarely leave the house. I know some people who are deserving of some poop by mail anonymous packages... but those aren't really a sacrifice. 12 Days of Christmas Swap I love crocheting, it's my favorite hobby. Can I make you a scarf/cowl/sweater/lap blanket to keep you wintery-warm!? Please, no crochet wearables. Amigurumi and stuffies are cute in crochet and I have quite a few in my favorites lists on ravelry. Blanket would be cost prohibitive with my yarn tastes. I actually have quite a few crocheted afghans from my grandma that I don't have room for, so I would say no on the blanket. How do you feel about amigurumi (i.e. little crochet toys), either characters from a fandom, wee animals, or as decorations? If you take a look at my ravelry favorites ("halloween or vamp swap" and "make for me" bundles) you'll see that I feel like you should make amigurumi for me, yes indeed. *nods sagely* How do you feel about knit socks? (Plain stockinette, lacework, cables, etc). Are there any other hand knit items you'd especially like? (Mittens, fingerless gloves, hats, etc). Sadly I do not really like knit socks that much and I received a pair in one of my last ravelry swaps. I don't wear socks at all for more than half of the year and when I do wear socks, they are black. And I have huge feet so you really don't want to knit socks for me anyway. But again, if you look at my ravelry favorites, I have two bundles with I would LOVE to get (halloween or vamp swap bundle and "make for me" bundle.) there are many options there! I am a picky bitchcake and I'm not afraid to say it. I mostly prefer shawls (really long and skinny-ish but not scarves. But not those triangle shaped things either.) and fingerless mitts. But on mitts I really need you to use very stretchy cast ons and bind offs as I have huge hands too. (I blame the nordic ancestors.) My preferred cast on is Jeny's Stretchy Slipknot Cast On and my preferred bind off is Jeny's Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off, But as long as it's stretchy, we're good! I have measurements on ravelry linked to my profile. What kind of snacks do you like? Does dried fruit or crunchy dried vegetables sound appealing? Do you like (raw) honey? Jerky? Jam? What sort of local products do you like to receive as gifts? If you're familiar with products in the Pacific Northwest, is there anything specific you'd like to try? - I love and adore honey! We usually have bees here at parents all summer from local beekeeper, and I tried beekeeping briefly in Seattle but my (wild) hive moved out and I never ordered any of my own bees. The beekeeper stiffed us this year and didn't give us the promised honey and honeycomb in exchange for keeping his bees here. I adore jerky but try to avoid corn syrup so I end up doing things like krave or my (previously local) butchers "made in house" jerky. I miss Bavarian Meats in pike place market - love their landjaeger. I have lived in Seattle the majority of my life but I am in Eastern Washington with parents right now until life is back on track. This is the home of the huckleberry things. I've lived in Denver, Dallas, and Toronto briefly as well. Would kill to have a place close to me that sells canons sweet hots (mild.) sadly mostly in New Mexico, Colorado, Texas, etc. I make my own dried fruit and veggies, so I'm good there. If there's one place you could go in the world, where and why? The U.K. Because. (I have always just felt an affinity with Wales, Scotland, Ireland, England, etc. I'd love to visit Glastonbury Tor, Stonehenge, Hadrian's Wall, Bath, Loch Ness, etc. Now if I could just meet a nice non-alcoholic Scottish boy and move there, I'd be super happy.) What sort of dollar store items do you always get a kick out of? Canadian dollar stores have the best dog squeaky toys, so we go there when we're in Canada, eh. Otherwise I usually go to the dollar store for stuff like the little sieves/screens that fit into the sink drain. They're the best for dumping out tea leaves and coffee grounds into so the water runs out and you can then pop the grounds/leaves into the garbage. My parents don't have any of these and I didn't bring mine with me from my ex house. Do you like to receive plants or gardening stuff? Do you grow plants? What's your favourite flower, if you have one? My mom especially likes wave petunias. I love scented geraniums (not zonal), lavender, and fragrant purple roses. Although I'm partial to grandifloras, we have some lovely rugosas that we harvest the petals from and make rose petal liquor, jelly, syrup, etc. I make lavender wands/bottles and harvest the lavender for cooking too. (at one point I had over 50 rose bushes and 11 varieties of lavender but then we had to move.) Really I like any herb that is useful for rituals, edible, medicinal, or fragrant. I don't usually purchase flowers that are JUST pretty. Pretty and fragrant? Sold. I could use mugwort, hyssop, and rue especially - we have none of those. I'm sure we could germinate seeds. I forgot to get cuttings of my geranium before it froze. *sigh* Could use some more sage and beebalm too. Oooh -- I especially love purple and black bearded irises (they have a fragrance usually!) We only have yellow (ick!) and one purpley pink color. We're in Zone 5b: -15F to -10F. I don't think we need any gardening stuff per se though. I do love seed bombs with wildflowers and things as well, I could throw some in the pasture by the road... But they would need to be very drought resistant since we don't have water out by the road. I'd love sweet peas, carnation, chocolate cosmos, phlox, .... oh! I'd love to have some carnivorous plants. We bought a venus fly trap this summer but it perished. Maybe a pitcher plant or a sundew? I *HAVE* catnip, catmint, two varieties of mint at least (peppermint and spearmint I think), maybe one variety of lavender, wooly thyme, normal looking thyme, russian sage, asiatic lilies, california poppies, peonies, yellow and pink rugosas, yellow and light purple bearded iris, petunias, feverfew, parsley, rosemary, dahlias, zinnias, honeysuckle (two kinds), rhubarb, chives, raspberries, blueberries, pansies (black!), orchids, christmas cactus, mini rose bush, lilacs (two kinds.) Um, I'm not sure what else since I just moved here this month. It's my parents place so really things are not "mine". But I could plant things and take cuttings or divide later. If you had a custom perfume/beauty/bath product made for you, what would it be and what would the scent description look like? (everything from prose to the specific selection of notes) It would need vanilla, patchouli and lavender at the least. Maybe some black and/or red musk and/or siberian musk. Leather and/or Tobacco? Label art with my pit babies or a friesian? I'm not a word smith, so the prose would have to be a quote or a passage from something. But I also have major brain fog, so I can't think of anything off the top of my head. I love drawing! Either fanart chibis on my tablet (ok it's my daughter's but still) or portrait work in graphite pencil... but it's been a while..so I'd love to use this as an excuse to draw something for you! If you could commission an art piece, would you choose traditional or digital artwork- and what would it be of? Well, you can see what kind of artwork I like from my Pinterest art page. All of my art is in storage and I don't really have room for a lot more. But I do have a ton of IKEA fira 9 drawer chests that need to be painted and decorated. Wish I could have you come paint those for me! When it comes to makeup, what is your coloring? Fair, dark? Sensitive skin? Eye color? Hair color? Style....funky, natural? Any additional makeup info? I don't wear very much makeup. My skin breaks out very easily so I only wear prescriptives full coverage liquid makeup in the lightest yellow/orange ecru shade. (not very often. On a daily basis I only use eyebrow powder and eyeliner (stila smudgestick or kat von d liquid eyeliner, black.) I don't have any actual eyebrow hair, just tattoos but they are pretty faded so I draw on eyebrows over them. hypothyroid = no eyebrows. I have t-zone skin, yay. Yes, my skin is extremely sensitive. I need to remember to moisturize 4-5 times a day so I can get control over the oily... I had it all normalized and then my life was disrupted and I stopped moisturizing. (And I could use more good moisturizer but its so expensive! I got a bunch of bobby brown when I had a friend who worked at nordstrom and I've used LUSH too but I'm out of both of those. Right now I'm using Kiss My Face but I think it is clogging my pores.) Eyes are hazel. Hair color is mousy brown/grey naturally but it is usually colored violet-black, dark burgundy/red, or some other color. It's usually shaved on the sides/back and long spiky/teased on the top (ala Robert Smith.) I really super need a hair cut right now because it's actually about 2-3" of grow out everywhere. I could use mascara. Style = lazy goth. Is there any craft or hobby that you are interested in trying? I think I am covered right now. I have a lot of new supplies for new crafts that I need to accomplish now! Maybe different colors of embroidery floss for doing cross stitch? Christmas decor? (not exactly sure what this question is looking for exactly? Do we decorate? What is our theme and colors? That kind of thing?) I just moved in with family and we did not decorate for Halloween (weep) and I'm not sure how much we are going to decorate for Christmas. Hopefully at least a tree! My tree ornaments are all over the place. I bought some last year at World Market -- a purple dragon, some horses, but I can't remember if I got a sparkly unicorn. I love iridescent, glitter, shimmery things. Purple, blue, and silver. My mom gives me Hallmark ornaments every year in whatever collection, so I have all of the rocking horses (mini and regular) and I think all of the Pony for Christmas. Last year I think I snagged some Hallmark NMBC ornaments too. It would be cool to have a whole NMBC tree that I could put up at Halloween and leave up until Christmas but it might have to wait until I have my own place again. I'm always eyeing the black bare branch trees at craft stores... I know I have one of those vintage aluminum Christmas trees with a color wheel that goes under it. In storage of course. what kind of collector are you? And do you have a log or a list somewhere away from the forum of the things you love, hate or already own? I'm a hoarder type of collector. I have a huge list on scentbase but it isn't complete because I hurt my tailbone and back and wasn't able to sit at computer for very long for a few years, so didn't keep on top of updating scentbase. I do have a spreadsheet that is current but it isn't public. I could attempt to put it on google drive, but I've broken their spreadsheets before with the amount of data contained... Would anyone mind bath and body works items? Such as hand sanitizer, lotion, candles, car scents or soap? I DO NOT use B&BW lotion, gel, perfume, anti-bac, etc. I DO use their hand soap but I'm trying to stay away from microbeads (deep cleansing) and I don't like the foaming soap that much - however, they do have a small amount of "creamy luxe" soap that I'd love in Vanilla Snowflake and I would also love to try the Energy and Stress Relief soaps.. I would love some pillow spray in lavender/vanilla (no chamomile.) I also use the wall flowers, three wick candles, and room sprays. I could use a new wall flower - I really want the bats night light/wall flower but they might be sold out by now. A snowflake would be cool though. Or the black embossed scroll. Scents that interest me for room spray/3 wick candles/wall flowers: Twisted Peppermint Vanilla Snowflake Iced Vanilla Woods Vanilla Balsam Holiday (maybe? As long as it's apple wood, not apple. I don't want fruit smelling things.) Black Tie Cinnamon & Clove Buds (maybe? Winter is a little over powering. So not if it's close to Winter.) Oops, my mom already has this. Fresh Balsam Smoked Vanilla Evergreen Marshmallow Fireside Winter Rose Peppermint Marshmallow Mahogany Teakwood (high intensity) Cinnamon Pinecone (again, not if it's too overpowering.) Vanilla Coconut Vanilla/Lavender sleep Any Lush showergel (or other product) you'd like to try? I do love me some Lush. I'd love Twilight, Silky Underwear, Snow Fairy/Candy Fluff, Snowcake, etc. shower gels (I also love the Lord of Misrule and Rose Jam but I stocked up last year and still have some. And I have enough Fairy Dust powder too.) Could use some Greased Lightning. Maybe the Mr. Sandman dusting powder if it is mostly lavender and not heavy on the chamomile. The snowfairy "fun" looks interesting - it's like a pliable bubble bar? Maybe a small bit of snowcastle soap. Bubbly shower gel looks interesting. I love their solid green sugar scrub. Mmmelting marshmallow moment, ceridwens cauldron, snow angel, and floating island all look lovely. If snow angel is the same scent as the cocoa butter bath bomb, then I LOVE that scent. (I could use some more facial moisturizer but it looks like it's pretty expensive!) Do you like licorice or would you like to try it? Would you prefer salt or sweet? I've had salty licorice and it's good in small doses but not my favorite. Licorice in general is not my favorite. My mom on the other hand loves sweet black licorice. I live in The Netherlands but I will visit England soon and might pay a visit to Germany. Anything special from here that you'd like to try? I have a ton of tea and chocolate on my amazon "edibles" wishlist (from England and France!) I'd love chocolates, tea, whatever else you think I might like! Germany has Wollmeise yarn... is you BPAL wishlist updated? Indeed. I have not gotten any Liliths, Unicorns, or Weenies yet. Sniff. Do you like office supplies like pens, pencils, highlighters, sticky notes, etc? No, I am boring. Sticky notes maybe if they are SO COOL that I MUST have them (like the coffin shaped ones I have - but unfortunately their "sticky" part is AWFUL and I have to tape them on things!) I use my BPAL pens a lot, they're my favorite. Do not use pencils, stationery, highlighters, etc. Maybe if I went back to school I would feel differently. I do like washi tape, I use it to wrap bubblewrap around bpal bottles & imps. I'm always looking for washi tape with bats, gargoyles, crows, skulls, etc. (I have lots of skulls right now.) How do you feel about spicy, cheesy, or sour snacks? cheese!! ALL THE CHEESE! I love garlic/dill curds, cheddars, fresh cheese with jalapenos in it (used to get some every week at the farmers market in seattle), gouda (both hard and creamy), parana, cotswald, sage darby, parmesan, mizithra, romano, havarti, mozza, etc. I like mildly spicy things, like candied jalapenos or mild canon sweet hots. Not so much on the sour, more about the savory. Would you like any cook-able mixes like for soup or baked goods, cooking ingredients like spices, sugars, salts, oils, or cooking gadgets? I wouldn't mind mixes but most of the ones I've gotten from places like World Market haven't been very good. I love spices, sugars, salts, vinegars, etc. but we have a TON of things and I don't know that I need anything. All of my spices are out in the garage because there wasn't room in the house with my parents spices... Don't really need any cooking gadgets right now. I can always use green tobasco sauce. I do, when I have my own place, have a skeleton themed kitchen and a NMBC cookie jar/container collection. I have a skeleton hand oven mitt, skeleton apron, bone shaped silverware, serving set, and salad tongs, skull cookie jars/salt & pepper shakers, skull measuring cups, skull measuring spoons, spatulas with skulls on them, skull wine stopper, skull bottle opener, etc. I would welcome more skeleton/skull kitchen things for when I actually get my own place again. I love sugar skulls and have some sugar skull kitchen stuff on my amazon wishlist (either in cooking/kitchen or housewares area.) Would you prefer bar soaps or bath gel? I would rather not receive any bar soap unless I specifically request it because I have boxes and boxes of it. (I'm a soaper.) And really, I have a ton of bath gel and sugar scrubs too. But that doesn't mean I'd hate to get more because hoarder... especially Lush. Candles, wax melts, or incense - yea or nay? I'd love more ritual candles and beeswax candles (pillars or votives.) And some really good japanese stick incense. I always love loose incense/resins for charcoal burners. I don't need any wax melts but I keep eyeing the ones at Paintbox Soapworks and Two Timing Tart. Jewelry - any preference about length of necklaces, earrings, etc? I don't really wear any necklaces or jewelry - although I would like to get my ears gauged a little since they need to be repierced. I have some ideas on my amazon wearables wish list. If I wear necklaces, I like around 18-19". I mostly wear stud earrings but my lobes are SO THICK that most studs are too short and the earring ends up being too tight on my ear and getting infected. Right now I haven't worn earrings for ... six months? a year? So once I save up some monies, I'll see about getting them pierced with an actual hollow needle since my original piercing was done in the early 80's with a gun. How do you feel about sweeteners? Do you prefer sugar, stevia, sucralose, etc.? Anything in particular to avoid? I avoid sweeteners like the plague. I prefer raw sugar if possible. Definitely avoiding corn / corn syrup. Stevia is ok. Do you have any interest in Shakespearean swag (insult mugs, play themed lip balms, oodles of other possibilities) or general performing arts related goodies? No mugs of any kind please. I just moved in with family and all of my kitchen stuff, which includes about five or six HUGE BOXES OF MUGS, is all packed up and out in a shed. I do love lip balm but I am a little picky on ingredients. I'm not really into performing arts swag. I'm such a curmudgeon! What is your favorite Christmas story - be it book, movie, cartoon - and if there are various versions, which is your favorite? Hm. Nightmare Before Christmas? I usually watch Elf every year. I like the old Rudolph animated with Bumble. Bumble is awesome. I haven't watched that for years and years though. I'll watch silly movies like The Holiday or Love, Actually if they're on. Christmas with the Kranks is ok, mostly watched that for Jamie Lee Curtis. Christmas Story is kind of silly, I finally watched that a couple of years ago to much protest by my then DH. Do you have a preference for numbered packages or random selection? Whichever is best for you! Do you have any external wishlists, Goodreads, or anything else that you might not have listed in your survey? Yes, they are all in the SW Help link in my signature and/or in the link that says Switch Witch Stalking & Services spreadsheet. Believe me, there is probably way more there than you need. For books that are part of a series, do you have a strong preference for whether you receive them in order, assuming that any overarching plot is reasonably easy to pick up on and the main story is self contained? I absolutely start at the beginning of a series. Do you have a Trader Joe's near you? If not, would you want some of their famous delicious treats? (Cookie butter - original or pumpkin spice!, sweet plantain chips, chocolate covered potato chips, etc) I have a Trader Joes. I do not like cookie butter, I do not like pumpkin spice ANYTHING (ick, ptooie), no plantains, no potato chips... Give me ALL OF THE CHOCOLATE COVERED PEPPERMINT JO JOS, those babies are like crack. I like their PB&J chocolate bars too. I really do like way too many things from Trader Joes... so dangerous to go in. Their pub cheese with jalapenos? I could eat the whole thing (heated up) in one sitting. What's your shoe size? Would you like to receive socks? Man, I am just no fun. No socks please. I have super huge feet and I tend to just purchase black mens socks. All of my sizing info is in my ravelry swaps area (link to which is in switch witch stalking spreadsheet in my signature.) Do you like Steampunk? Would you be interested in any jewelry inspired by steampunk? I am fine with steampeak as long as we stick to silver/black and no brown/copper. However, again, I am not a big jewelry wearer. *sad face* I make paper albums and journals. Would you be interested in receiving something like that? Would you like some other type of handmade paper craft? No journals, albums, stationary, or anything that would require me to write on it. I have a really hard time writing; my hand motor skills/flexibility when it comes to gripping things is very poor. I wouldn't mind cute note cards or "thanks for the swap / thanks for the purchase!" cards (with either my forum names (TwilightEyes/MissTwilight) or forthcoming etsy shop name. (which I still haven't come up with.) Are you currently ISO any BPAL new or otherwise? What are your top 10 scents? Yes, those would be in my ISO post which is linked from my wishlist. *grin* I think I have my top scents already listed in my profile. Black Friday will be a thing during this swap, anything you might want that will be on awesome sale? ... no idea. I usually avoid Black Friday and do Cyber Monday. I know that the Lab/Post usually has a treat if you order something and I'd love to have the treat, but it wouldn't come in time. I'm really more in the swap for friendship and happy then for "getting stuff" and I would be happy with homemade or handmade things. Do you like to cook and would you be interested in cookbooks? If so, what kind? I like to cook when I have my own place... It is kind of crowded here and someone is ALWAYS in the kitchen so it kind of drives me nuts. I might have some cookbooks on my amazon wish list though. Do you like games (board/card), and if so what kind and for how many players? I like games. I'd love cards against humanity or exploding kittens. I think they are both on my amazon wishlist. If you have a Goodreads "to read" list, are those mostly books that you do not have and would like copies of, or are those mostly books that you already have piled on your shelves/lurking in your e-reader? I think on my "to read" list on goodreads, it is mostly things that I own but haven't read yet. My amazon list is a much better indicator of what I want, especially if you list it by priority. And I actually read everything on my ipad, so I would have no problems looking .mobi or .epub files that came in email or on a thumb drive.... Do you have a wood-burning fireplace or fire pit, and if so would you like handmade firestarters or scenting bundles to throw on it? (think bundles of apple wood chips and cinnamon bark, or little wax/herb/paper bundles with a wick) I do not have either a fireplace or a fire pit, we just have an area where we burn dead fall and things. Sadly I do not need any firestarters or scenting bundles right now, they would just sit and gather dust until it was nice enough outside to sit by a fire again. It's the rainy season and snow will be here soon. You mentioned scarves in your questionnaire. Are you referring to a chunky thick keep-me-warm-in-a-snowstorm scarf, or a light and lacy could-be-warm-if-I-wound-it-a-hundred-times scarf? If I mentioned a scarf it was that I'm a knitter and I have relatives who are knitters and everyone always buys or makes me scarves and I do not need one at all, thank you. I have all of the scarves. Light, lacy, thick fabric, thin fabric, wide, thin, long, short, knitted, striped, solid, designs, silk, wool, etc. Really, stop with the scarves. Would you like to receive a photography print? My pictures are mainly of animals or landscapes. What would you prefer? Any favourite animals you'd like to receive a picture of? Would you also like to receive postcards? You can view some of my pictures on http://www.by-ellen.com The web page didn't work for me, I got a grey screen with some different options at the top, but no photos. It's ok, I don't have room for any more artwork right now since I have downsized from a 4500 square foot home to a small basement to one room. All of my artwork is packed up right now. If I were go get my shit together to actually bake before December 7, would you have any interest in fruitcake? I am not really a fruitcake fan, but one of my friends sent me a recipe for pear/cherry/almond/marzipan fruitcake that uses amaretto. And it was really good. (it was really hard finding dried pears though.) But the traditional kind of fruitcake? Um... probably not. If I were still feeling the alcoholic spirit and decided to make boozy chocolate balls of some sort, do you have a preference for bourbon, rum or Irish whiskey? Mmmmmmm boozy chocolate! We usually do rum balls but I'd be up for whatever! I might have to try using some Sinfire or something this year ... cinnamon chocolate boozy balls. We're going to make some bailey's fudge in the next couple of days. (we = my mom. I will probably just watch since I am still sick.) -
Hence it came about that I concealed my pleasures; and that when I reached years of reflection, and began to look round me, and take stock of my progress and position in the world, I stood already committed to a profound duplicity of life. A discreet men's cologne of juniper, cumin, verbena, bergamot, mint, and basil splattered with dregs from apothecary bottles. In the bottle: Sweet and herby, yet masculine, cologne. I can pick up on the cumin, mint, and basil. On my skin: Green jumps out briefly -- juniper I believe, with a strong cumin behind it, which imparts an earthy spice. Odd! The verbena and bergamot keep this bright and the mint and basil impart a sweetness. Very interesting and pleasant mix.

10/19/16 Do you subscribe to any boxes? What kinds of things do you like from them? I used to subscribe to barkbox but the Monkies would immediately destroy and hoard any toys from it (we were still working on his resource guarding) so it was more stressful than fun. Now that it is just Zuul and she isn't as hard on toys, it would be fun to get Barkbox again (but of course I can't afford it right now.) I would love the Firefly lootcrate. I used to get two different "sample" boxes (that I can't remember the name of) but I didn't think it was worth the money and I never purchased anything full size from any of the samples. There are some cool yarn/knitting monthly boxes (and yay brain fog, I can't remember the name) and I was kind of interested in the monthly witchy boxes (Crone box?) that had incense and herbs and other things in it. I think I shared them on facebook and then promptly tried to forget about them so as to avoid temptation. Any makeup/body/skin type stuff you'd like to get samples of? Not really. My skin is very very picky and almost everything makes it break out (right now it's breaking out just from the change in water and humidity.) And I rarely wear any makeup other than eyeliner (stila smudgestick mostly) and eyebrow powder (since I have no eyebrows, only tattoos - and they're getting really faded so I use them mostly as a guide for where to draw my eyebrows. yay thyroid.) Mascara samples might be fun though since I should probably wear that once in a while. My eyelashes are very long naturally but are kind of light in color so are sort of invisible unless i wear mascara. 10/18/16 ThinkGeek is having a big Halloween sale. Anything catch your eye? I have a wishlist there (link under SW help.) - annoyatron pack - link shield backpack - critical hit cookie cutters - game of thrones cookie cutters - skull ice cube mold - critical hit ice mold - Death Star ice mold - Tardis robe - groot mask (my son is 7' tall and I keep telling him he needs to be groot for Halloween) 10/16/16 Ginger, or Spearmint flavor? Ummmm depends on what? I love ginger chews and gingerbread *especially pumpkin ginger bread* and stuff. But for things like gum? Probably spearmint. I've had ginger lip balm and I would probably prefer mint in that category too. So..... um... is that helpful? 10/11/16 Are there any commercial candles/tarts/tealights in scents you like? Bath and Body Works, or Yankee Candle? I would love a Black Magic candle from Yankee but I think they only come in one size this year. Otherwise I am pretty set on candles as per my previous answers. Not that I would ever be unhappy with any but I have about 20 three wick candles still in boxes and a HUGE box full of pillars, tapers, votives, tealights, etc. The only thing I am short on is actual beeswax candles (I prefer candles similar to what Big Dipper Wax Works carries) and ritual candles, especially figurines. I don't need any tarts. I COULD use a bath and bodyworks wall flower plug in since I have about 20 unused scents for that brand. 10/10/16 Witchee, would you like (would you wear?) a long wrap choker? No, thank you. I have a fat neck (boo) and no longer wear chokers (or much jewelry except my scent locket.) 10/8/16 I'd love to commission a piece of art for you. Would you be interested in a custom piece? What kind of picture/what subject matter? I do like her unicorns and MLP. I don't really have a ton of room right now but anything related to my dogs is always welcome. They are my precious babies. I have lots of photos on my flickr and instagram pages for what they look like in RL... 10/4/16 Would any witchees be interested in strawberry, pumpkin & apple, or milk flavor Pocky? My son would probably love some! 10/3/15 Though I've been playing with sculpee lately and like making sort of character or fandom inspired bead/pendants, would that be something you'd like or have use for? My son makes jewelry and he is house Targaryen... I'm Stark. I would probably only have use for VERY SMALL charms/beads for making stitch markers. These gargoyle ones on etsy (that I already have!) are the perfect size. He might have a use for larger beads on necklaces. And I would love for my son or my mom to receive things too. 10/1/16 Erotica or BDSM - yay or nay, and if yay, what kinds of things? Normally I would say ALL THE TOYS AND ROPE YES AND LOCKS AND... but since I'm going through divorce, I'm not going to need any toys for a while... Books are ok. My local farmers market has a pepper specialist who makes dried pepper powders. Would you like some and if so what level of spicyness. I love chipotle and smokey peppers with low to medium heat. And jalapenos. My favorite tobasco is the green, so I like flavor over heat I guess. And yes, all of the herbs and spices and salts and peppers! I have a couple of empty grinders too. 9/28/16 Tarot cards/oracle decks - yay or nay? Yay -- and I would really like a rune set. I had one but an ex took it. If yay, do you already have any? I have a vampire set. And a really old rider-waite set somewhere in storage. Which ones? I really like the Phantomwise deck and any deck with gothy, gargoyle, or maybe unicorn type artwork. Cryptozoology/cryptids (Big Foot, lake monsters, chupacabra, etc.) - yay or nay? meh. If yay, any favourites? Well, I am in Bigfoot country. 9/25/16 I'm a honey affecionado (I really love honey) and our renn Faire has a local honey booth we go to every year and our trip is coming up. Anything from http://www.beefolks.com/default.aspsuit your fancy in particular (honey or otherwise since they have other products?) oooh. The Cotton, MeadowMaple, Killer Bee... really any of them. I love honey in my tea but I have super light to super dark honeys that I really love... so. Pretty much anything to do with honey and I'd be happy. I love honey stix too! I'm going to have to learn how to make Mead.... Any other renn Faire goodies in general? I have a friend who is a wood carver there and they make adorable geeky pins amount other things and Harry Potter wands? Here are the artisans there: http://www.rennfest.com/general-information/artisans I love consumables or things I can use! Mead, Henna (for body, not hair -- I prefer premixed), silver colored celtic-y shawl pins, silver colored celtic buttons, maybe beads, wire, charms, etc. crafting making (my son makes jewelry and I need to start making stitch markers), cross stitch things, yarn, etc. I do love celtic-y wall hangings/tapestries/blankets with Epona (horse), raven, dog, ferret, or just knots. Purple or blue! Herbs for soap making or using in ritual workings. Maybe some crystals or stones for my planned altar. I need an altar cloth too. And maybe a small ritual candle holder. I can always use colored sand and self igniting charcoal, loose incense/herbs for burning, etc. No soap or candles please, I have bins and bins of soap still. And lets not talk about the candles... 9/24/16 The second part of the Haus of Gloi update is live tomorrow (the 25th)- is there anything you're interested in? - Butter Bomb in Burnishing Amber, Marshmallow, or Sleepy Time. - Lip Balm in Pumpkin or Maple Sugar. Would love their regular balm (Sale!) in Wild Rose. - Fall Sugar Scrub in Hex, Pumpkin Queen, or the Horseman. - Valentine's Pumpkin Butter in Come Hither (Sale!) or Summer Pumpkin Butter in Marshmallow Rose (sale!) - Summer Refresher in Chillax (Sale!) - I've always wanted to try their Haus Amber. Probably in Sugar Exfoliant. I'm going to the NY Renaissance Faire tomorrow- anything you'd like me to look for? I love Faire! I'd usually be on the look out for cool celtic silver colored buttons (I found some really awesome celtic hippocampus ones once), shawl pins, mead, henna kits, etc. I love the huge celtic horse or celtic knot ... blankets? They're kind of thin. I have two different celtic horse ones but I'd love a purple horse one. Or just purple and black celtic knots. Or dogs/ravens/ferrets. Do you celebrate Mabon? Would you like "witchy" or pagan decorations and objects? For example, pentacle wall hangings, mabon poppets, corn dollies, ritual candles, etc? I do need more ritual candles. But as far as decorations and dust catchers or knick knacks, no no no. Anyone hankering for Craftsy (http://www.craftsy.com) classes? Through tomorrow all classes are $20 or under. I think I'm good on Craftsy classes right now. I tend to be able to find free youtube classes on most things that I'm interested in learning. Except for advanced brioche techniques, which I already have a craftsy class on. Would you be interested in any of the following: jigsaw puzzles; puzzle books (like word searches or crossword puzzles or suduko); coloring books; card games; board games? Feel free to elaborate on preferences for any of the above! I'd kind of like CAH. I'm not sure I have anyone to play it with though. I don't have a need for any coloring books, jigsaw puzzles, puzzle books, etc. I do most of that thing on the computer. There might be some board games I'm interested in - I'd have to go look at a store. But again with the lack of people to play with when I'm moving out to the middle of nowhere. 9/23/16 Would you be interested in Kings Game by Lisa Millraney? I've already purchased it. Would you like any brown paper bags of "seconds" from Seattle Chocolates? Heck yeah. My favorite are the San Juan Sea Salt truffle bars and the JCoCo Agave Sesame but I haven't tried all of the JCoCo yet. The sea salt one might be good! Elements & Artifacts has a fall/halloween collection up? Anything catch your eye? Most of the items I like are over $100 and really I don't wear a lot of jewelry anymore except for my BPTP Phoenix scent locket. I love the ribbon wrap bracelets but I have an 8" wrist so things don't always fit me well, even wraps. The rings are gorgeous but too small. The Vampire Queen (bat and amethyst) is super cute but I would need the chain extended to a 20". And speaking of shops from BPAL folks, any favorites in the stores on the SW Stalking and Services Spreadsheet I'll have to look and update. 9/22/16 Would you like some hair falls? I can make a single (ponytail) or double (for pigtails). Short, long, types of yarns, ribbons? Extra things (buttons, beads, wire wraps? Colors/color combinations? Stuff to avoid? I love the idea of hair falls ... I have one pair of double hair falls but I can't ever put them on right or make them work. I like long, double, ribbons, yarns (no acrylic but otherwise don't care on type) - purples, blues, and blacks would be nice. I would need instructions on how to use them. Definitely not a priority since I'm moving out to the middle of nowhere and probably won't be going anyplace where I would need hair falls for a year or more unless my life changes drastically. 9/21/16 Do you have an Etsy wish list, and if so, what's your user name there? All links to various off site wish lists are in my signature under the link "SW Help". My scentbase if woefully out of date. I hurt my tailbone and back a couple of years ago and couldn't sit by a computer comfortably so I got REALLY far behind in updating my BPAL on there. Tokyo Milk? Yea or Nay? I have some of their clove lip balm and love it! I'm kind of full on perfumes and lotions right now and I really do prefer balm in a tube. I just couldn't resist the clove. would you like notebooks or journals? Utilitarian or fancy? Lined or blank? Tell me of your stationery lustings. I have zero interest in notebooks, journals, stationery, etc. I still have blank notebooks from grade school and pretty stationery that I have never used. I have a hard time writing anything legibly. Electronic all the way!!! (although I also have sealing wax and sealing wax stamps because I like the IDEA of cool letters being exchanged. I just don't ever do it.) What are your tea and/or coffee preferences? Loose leaf / whole bean or bagged / ground? Do you have a favorite type? Flavor? Retailer? Well, I am moving back in with my parents (ACK) and I don't think I will have my french press available, so that leaves me with keurig and verismo makers. I would love some anniversary blend for the verismo. I like Starbucks Via too. As for tea, I generally prefer loose leaf as it is higher quality. But I could really use some more licorice mint tea. There are some great organic blends out there but most of them come bagged so that is fine. I have tons of tea on my amazon edibles wish list. If you could receive one handmade item - everything from knitted or crocheted gloves and scarves to sewn bags to fanart or original art, what would you prefer? So hard to say - I can knit, crochet, and sew - so really not my priority. But I don't have a place for any more art either. I will think about it. Maybe a sewn project bag. I can always use more project bags. And pillow cases. What are your favorite fandoms, if any? Red Dwarf, LOTR, Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Nightmare Before Christmas, Game of Thrones!!!, ummm will have to think of more. Oh, yeah, Guardians of the Galaxy! Buffy! Firefly! There are so many but I have a lot of brain fog... sorry! Skincare- do you use a particular routine? What products would you absolutely not use? Almost everything makes my skin break out. I use Kiss My Face moisturizer. I use Prescriptives makeup and serums. I like Lush Greased Lightning. I would not use most other things. Bath/shower products? I use mostly non-sls products if possible and I love oily salt scrubs. I have sugar scrubs too. Villianess, Paint Box Soapworks, Haus of Gloi, Cocoa Pink, Arcana, etc. I do have a bunch of Lush shower gel. I actually have a tub at the parents house so I can take baths!!! BPTP products? Pre-owned okay? Yes, yes. Essential oils and aromatherapy oils- yay, or nay? I love essential oils! Aromatherapy oils too but please make sure no phthalates. Favorite animal? For...what purpose? It really depends. I love horses (especially Friesians), pit bull type dogs, dolphins, bats, rats, corbies, I am sad because while packing today I dropped my bat talisman necklace (moonstone carved bat) and it split in half. *sniff* HEY MY PATRONUS IS A BAY MARE. Twilight Alchemy Lab oils? yes please. I need Block Buster, Road Opener, Black Rage, Brittle, Spiritwrack, STFU, Foundation of Fortune, Brass Balls, King Solomon's, Aegis, Confusion, Countermagick, Fiery Wall of Protection, Flying Devil, Jinx Removing, Crucible of Courage, Magnet, Ouroboros, Veils & Mist, Venus, Charisma, Aunt Caroline's Money Draw, Gainful Employment, Steady Work, Showers of Gold, Servare, Power, Peaceful Home, Protection, Money, LaFlamme, Helping Hand, Uncrossing, Vigor, Sever, Blessing, Annoiting Oil - Exodus Version, Libertas, Sunlight, Discipline, Bright Fortune, Golden Graces Money Drawing, Friendship, Blessing Spray, 13 Horizons spray.... I'd really love some Conjure Bags too. Beauty Bag and/or Money Draw Bag. 9/20/16 Authors - Jennifer Estep, Faith Hunter. Heard of them? Love them, hate them, or eh? Never heard of them. I mostly like epic fantasy or sci-fi books. Also I am going blind right now so I prefer ebooks only -- I really need the adjustable font option.. Knitted things. Specifically scarves/cowls and shawls.....grabby hands or not? Favorite colors? Are you allergic or sensitive to any textiles, ie wools, cashmere, nylon, metallic threads, mohair, alpaca? Knitted washcloths? For the kitchen or for the bath? And again, colors?? I think I already answered this - I have 500 scarves, so unless it is on my "make for me" favorites on Rav, I probably do not want a scarf. I don't wear cowls unless they are huge huge infinity cowls (I have a fat neck and can't stand tight things.) I don't like triangle shaped "shawls" - I do like circular, half circle, crescent, and really long and skinny but with pointy ends, which differentiates them from scarves IMO. My favorite colors for knit wear is black, grey, and gradients. I like jewel tones and black overdyes. Purple, Red, Blue, Green, Black, Grey. If you check out my yarn stash on Ravelry you'll get an idea of what I like. I do not want anything acrylic. Cashmere pills, so meh. I prefer Merino, Merino Nylon, Merino Silk, Silk, etc. I do like Merino Cashmere Silk because it seems like the silk keeps the cashmere in line. Silver threads are ok but not my favorite. Prefer no mohair or alpaca because it seems itchy in here tonight. Washclothes are ok, for either kitchen or bath. Same colors. As far as colors go, I loathe orange, yellow, brown, cream, beige, anything that could be construed a shade of orange, yellow, or brown. Please god no, keep them away. chocolate and beef jerky should be brown, though, I'll give you that. I love mitts but I will say that you absolutely NEED TO USE A STRETCHY CAST ON AND BIND OFF. I have very large hands. I prefer Jeny's Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off and Jeny's Stretchy Slipknot Cast On. Both can be found with a web search or on ravelry. Candles or wax melts/wax tarts? Honestly the only candle I have my eye on right now is the Black Magic candle from Yankee. It smells SO GOOD. I want everything in that scent. Otherwise... I not only used to be a PartyLite consultant and make candles for Sweet Spirit Candles, but I also make candles at home. So I have about 500 candles. I wouldn't mind receiving candles molds, wicking, candle wax, candle scent, etc. Or soapmaking supplies. Or GC's to places like Brambleberry. I'm hoping I can set up a soap/candle workshop at my parents place and maybe open an etsy store. I also do bath bombs, scrubs, and lip balm. So yes, supplies would be awesome. (picky about what kind of chemicals are IN the supplies though, especially scents, and try to do mostly organic and non Phthalates/SLS.) I have more tarts than I can use right now too, unless there are Yankee Black Magic tarts in which case, yes please. I could maybe use a new wall flower plug in thing from Bath & Bodyworks though. 9/19/16 Speaking of snarky, who's a fan of The Mincing Mockingbird? Who? What? Do you decorate for Halloween all year? If not, what level of decor do you have for Halloween? I decorate with skulls, gargoyles, NMBC, bats, coffins, tombstones, all year. I do not use pumpkins, witches, spiders, ghosts, zombies, etc. Right now I am moving though so I really need no knick knacks or decorations. Once I get moved in (in the next couple of weeks) I'll update if anything changes. Indoor/outdoor Halloween decorations? What do you do, and what would you prefer to receive? Nothing really please. I have way too much stuff right now and am feeling very overwhelmed. If it changes when I get moved in, I'll say something. What's your preferred Halloween decor style: classic/traditional (skulls, pumpkins, bats), kitchsy/cute, retro, elegant/Victorian, horror/macabre? I'm more gothy or victorian I guess. But I am full up on decor. Please no knick knacks. What's your candy preference? I wouldn't say no to peanut butter cups and kit kats and such things. I like mostly high quality chocolates but can't resist halloween candy in small doses. Does anyone like fleece character hats? Like these? http://wonderlandonline.storenvy.com/collections/354444-anime-video-games/products/13089516-pusheen-like-fleece-hat What kinda characters would you like to see? Oh, sorry, not so much. I only wear newsboy type hats with a brim. And not usually knitted ones. 9/18/16 Who here is a Raging All THINGS HARRY POTTER fan? I don't know about RAGING but I do love me some Harry Potter. I've seen all of the movies and read all of the books multiple times except for the supplemental books on my Amazon wishlist. I've had someone bring me a chocolate frog once and I would LOVE to have more. I would love to try the other treats as well. Do you like things with Pumpkin (or Pumpkin Spice?) I love things like pumpkin scones, pumpkin bread, pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, etc. and I've had some pumpkin pie almonds that were scrumptious but I don't like "pumpkin spice" lattes... so probably a no to pumpkin spice popcorn, bark, coffee syrup, cocoa mix, etc. (Plus trying to avoid dyes, corn syrup, non-organic stuffs, etc.) 9/17/16 Is there anything you would like to get from Japan? - I do love interesting flavored kit kats but I've had orange, hazelnut, banana, green tea, and oreo locally. Would love to try Pumpkin Pudding and Red Bean. We have a really good international food district and asian specialty stores that carry a ton of pocky and other snacks. - I love honey and black milk tea and also lavender and jasmine. I have never seen rose milk tea, but that would be fabulous. Doh, got some!!! - I know they have a lot of Nightmare Before Christmas stuff so I wouldn't mind getting something that is usable and not a pin/keychain/coffee cup/knick knack. I collect NMBC cookie jars and cannisters. - Gothic Lolita stuff is always cool and fun, especially black/purple. Ooh, also Japanese incense. - yarn! - silky things to dye, spices, whatever! - japanese boozahol? Would you object to re-using of clean mailing materials? No I wouldn't object. I reuse bubblopes and bubble wrap. And tissue paper if it isn't ripped. 9/16/16 Is there anything you'd particularly like to get from the UK? I love Cadbury crunchies and curly whirlies. There are other UK chocolates I'd love to try, I think there are some on my Amazon wishlist. I love tea but I think most of the tea on my wishlist is from France. But maybe you could get it in the UK? I'd be up for trying whatever chocolate and tea. I love clotted cream! Spices/herbs? Yarn? Socks/sockdreams/etc: I'm kind of meh on sockdreams because I have huge feet. And I'm a knitter. And I'm a plus size. I know they have a very small plus size section but I rarely wear tights or any socks except black. And most socks that are made for women don't fit me. I usually just buy plain black men's socks. (I do love me some Spanx tights though.) Anyone a nail polish fan? What colored interest you? I don't really wear polish on my finger nails and I'm set for polish on my toe nails. 9/15/16 How do you feel about knitted stuff? As I am a knitter, I love knitted things. I do not love crochet things unless they are toys/blankets. Please no crochet wearables. Fancy? Plain? I don't mind lace. But I do not wear cowls, hats, or scarves and I don't like shawls that are triangle shaped. (yes, I am a picky bitchcake.) What types of things do you like to wear? I love fingerless mitts and shawls (boomerang, bias, crescent, circular, half circle, long/skinny but not "scarves" - pointy ends, etc.) If you're a knitter, you're probably on Ravelry and you can look at my wishlist there - I have "Bundles" in my favorites called "MAKE FOR ME" and "HALLOWEEN OR VAMP SWAP" that has projects or patterns that I'd love to have made for me. I'm into beer. How 'bout you? No no no no no But I do love me some hard cider. But not dry or semi sweet - the sweeter, the better. The Ace Pumpkin Cider is good and I love JK Scrumpys. And booze? yes yes yes yes I love (sweet!) mead, dessert wines such as port or ice wine (sweeter, the better), amaretto, baileys, rum, vodka, flavored stuff, butterscotch schnapps, etc. I have super huge bottles of kahlua, malibu rum, and whipped cream vodka so I'm set there. The best mead I've had recently is from Aesir Mead in Everett, Washington. Their fireweed was to die for. I'd love GC's for them. Or the Groupon that they usually have going. (Only problem would be scheduling it since I am moving to Eastern Washington by October.) How do you feel about caramel? yes yes yes - but fair warning, I try to avoid corn syrup. So only really high quality snobby type caramels or homemade without corn syrup. I try to avoid GMO's and do mostly organic food. Salt or no? yes yes yes With chocolate or without? with chocolate is good but without is ok too. I try to do fair trade/organic. Would you be interested in home made food items? I love homemade items but I don't like nuts in my baked goods. I like nuts on their own though - except walnuts. I hate walnuts. And again, I try to avoid corn syrup, food dyes, etc. and I do mostly organic and non-gmo - especially wheat/flour. Would you be interested in project bags/pouches? I don't think you can ever have enough project bags. Even though I have about 50. And to go along with the previous knitting question... Are you allergic to any fiber or do you know what kind of yarn you prefer? I tend to not like BFL as much. Or llama/alpaca/cashmere/angora. I love merino/nylon and merino/silk. Merino/cashmere/silk seems to be ok too, less pilling because of the silk content. Would you want a quilted pot holder? Since I am living with my parents and they have tons of pot holders already, I wouldn't really get any use out of it. Do you have any prefered flavour of shortbread? vanilla or lavender. But shortbread isn't my favorite. 9/14/16: What are you interested in from the recent BPAL and BPTP updates? (Lilith, Lunacy, etc.) BPTP stuffs: 1oz of: Portrait of a Young woman with Unicorn hair gloss Saint Justina with the Unicorn hair gloss The Sharing of the Cake between the Lion and the Unicorn hair gloss Lilith's Hair Gloss bottles: Samhain Hair gloss****** Goofin' at Stonehenge perfume someone said this smelled like grass, so not a priority Tag-Upon-Avon perfume The Serpentine Perfume BPAL stuffs: decants: A King Pursued by a Unicorn Allegory of Chastity A Little More Tea Plush Viscera Texare The Twelfth The Wolf and the Rattlesnake bottles: Cruxifixion De Vos' Unicorn Of the Unicorn Boticell's Unicorn Unicorn and Ram *** Funerary Papyri Good Morning, London Heavenly Spark Lilith and the Four Sons of Horus Motherhood My Little Grotesque Outlaw *** Reapers Gonna Reap *** Spider Witch The Devil Will Find Work for Idle Hands The Library of John Dee Waiting Single Note: Coconut Meat Would you like hibiscus seeds? yes!

Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. -- Matthew 11:11 The birth of John the Baptist coincides with the Summer Solstice, and in keeping with the eternal rhythm of the universe, John understood that as the sun’s strength begins to wane after the Summer Solstice, so did he move aside after preparing the way for the Winter King, Christ. Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him. He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. He must increase, but I decrease. -- John 3:28-30 St. John’s holy day is full of holy significance that is so primal and archetypal that it transcends any one faith. It is a merging of the rituals of Midsummer with symbols of Biblical faith. On this eve, prayers to God for bountiful harvests and fertility are said over St. John’s blessed bonfires, a leap over the sacred flames brings good fortune in new undertakings and unions, and the waters of rivers and lakes bring renewed strength, vitality, and spiritual cleansing. A summer bonfire, with frankincense and myrrh, bay rum, and white rose. In the bottle: Smoky bay rum and frankincense. On my skin: The white rose and myrrh both come out and sweeten up the smokiness without being overpoweringly floral. This remains a darker, smoky fragrance with a hint of spicy sweetness. Very nice!!

So glad I sprung for a bottle! I'm a huge musk fan. If I've learned anything from BPAL, it's that the description can not always be trusted (if it's scary) but sometimes Gore Shock and Day Old Ham happen. But those are only two out of how many? So you might as well go for it and be pleasantly surprised, right?? I get honey and musk - I want to say siberian or red, but the oil is not very dark colored. The poppies come out more during the dry down and seem powdery to me (in a good way.) One of my favorites!- 14 replies

Unreleased prototype, no scent description given. Google says that Hermes Trismegistus (Greek: Ἑρμῆς ὁ Τρισμέγιστος, "thrice-great Hermes"; Latin: Mercurius ter Maximus) is the representation of the combination of the Greek god Hermes and the Egyptian god Thoth. In Hellenistic Egypt, the Greeks recognised the congruence of their God Hermes with the Egyptian god Thoth. Subsequently the two gods were worshiped as one in what had been the Temple of Thoth in Khemnu, which the Greeks called Hermopolis. When I first smelled this at DD, my nose was getting pretty tired and smelled vaguely woody and incense like. Now that I have come home and was able to take my time and sniff with a refreshed nose, I am getting lavender with maybe a little vanilla and sandalwood.

Love this so much! It's like Le Pere Fouettard in an atmosphere spray!

Pumpkin? Please don't buy me all of the pumpkin spice things like twinkies/kisses/m&m's, etc. I won't drink PSL's from SBUX because the ingredient list is a horror show. I *do* like the Pumpkin Pie Almonds from World Market, pumpkin pie, pumpkin cheesecake, pumpkin soups, etc. (Panera has a really tasty seasonal soup plus they scored an A on having good ingredients and no antibiotics in their meat, etc., I might be eating there more often if I can afford it. They use real pumpkin in their PSL too, I might have to try one.) I love Teavana's Pumpkin Spice Brulee tea but I'm totally set on that. I normally don't like pumpkins for decorating in the house either since I loathe orange but Violetchaos had a cute white pumpkin with a black face drawn on it that I kept wanting to steal and I have seen decorative pumpkins at Target and Joanns that aren't horrible (black and white or black and purple.) But really I have no place to set stuff like that right now. We do carve actual pumpkins every year if we can. The other half is supposed to be gone until November this year so I might be doing any corn mazes and pumpkin carving by myself. Booze: I'm all about the vodka, rum, baileys, flavored liquors, tawny port, and mead mead mead mead mead mead mead. and ice wine. Buttery Nipples are one of my favorite drinks. And Lemon Drops. I've made my own amaretto and kahlua and such. I should try infusing some vodka - rose and lavender would be interesting to me. Oh, I do like hard cider. I usually get the Ace's Hard Pumpkin Cider from World Market. The Angry Orchard crisp and cinnful (sinnful?) apple cider is ok too but not my favorite. I like the sweet meads and ciders (should be obvious since I am also an ice wine/port fan) and not dry ones. Kthx. (There is a cider place by my parents called Twilight Cider Works that I have a few bottles from. The last one is a peach. Nom nom! And I live not too far from sky river meadery but I find most of their things to be so-so. There are some more meaderies that have opened up that are farther north than I feel like going by myself but maybe when I have money and my mom is visiting since most of my friends either have kids or seem unable to do anything without their other half.) Want anything from Yellowstone? Be it postcards, key chains, shot glasses, pint glasses, or huckleberry what have you? I'm not really a trinket person. Washington is overloaded with Huckleberry stuff too (especially the Spokane area where my parents live) so I'm probably good on that. A postcard? I know there is a question about "decorating style", but if you're comfortable, could you should us some photos of your spaces? For those of us who like to art and craft, it can be nice to have a visual sense of decorating style! I am not comfortable showing photos of my spaces. I sold my beautiful house and my other half sold his as well and we moved in to the mother-in-law apartment of his dad's house after his mom passed. This place hasn't been updated since the 60's as far as I can tell. The carpet is orange, beige, yellow squares in the basement (my space) with wood paneling on the walls and the upstairs has orange carpet. BoyFlame's father has since passed away so we have started updating the house but it is going VERY slowly as my other half is out of town most of the year for business. We've pretty much gotten as far as painting all of the walls with killz (except the wood paneled areas) and painting the kitchen, upstairs bedrooms, and downstairs bedroom. But the downstairs bathroom and floors need a lot of work!! It's humiliating for me to have people visit because I am so ashamed of the floors. If I had my way, I would have grey or purple leaning white walls and a dark grey purple or grey carpet. I have black furniture (table, couches) and a grey granite and black computer desk. I do have some antiques that are a medium brown wood color that I do not especially like. But I'm not going to change them because antiques. I have a nice grey/black marble top bistro table with a black iron base and matching chairs. I have grey "black out" curtains with light purple gauzy curtains under them. Royal purple velvet duvet cover and another purple silk one. A few Nightmare Before Christmas comforters and sheet sheets. (yes, I'm 12.) Tons of gargoyles, which are all a nice stone grey color. So basically you're looking at minimal white, grey, black, and some purple. I like blues and dark reds too but am not drawn to them as much. Our bedroom, however, has blue and silver walls because blue is supposed to help you sleep better. (Purple is bad for bedrooms because it causes too much brain activity or something, say the "experts." So much for my purple sheets and duvet covers!) My kitchen is painted a dark wine color and I have a skeleton/skull theme (skeleton bone apron, skull and NMBC cookie jars, bone shaped silverware, skull wine toppers, skeleton hand salad tongs, etc.) I have a bunch of stuff from World Market on my pinterest that is inexpensive and would go well with my kitchen. I always try to go to Target at Halloween to buy some of the pyrex round bowls w/lids that have bats on them. BATS! Here is some of my artwork that I have yet to put on the walls but will soon. You probably can't tell from the small photo, but the one with the crow has a cthulhu-esque creature in the mists behind the crow. The purple alien one has a lot of eyeballs and tentacles (on the frame too! This is the original oil painting by this artist; she sells prints of this painting on her etsy site.) I got it because of the tentacles and purple/blue. The horse is very steampunk. I grew up with horses (showing and gaming) and am a horse freak. The purple and blue tribal dragon was given to my son for his birthday although I originally bought it for me. (MY COLORS!) The wavy color line ones are also original paintings that were done by my friend Wendi Dunlap. For those of you who don't drink alcohol, can you specify if you live with any drinkers or ever have alcohol on hand for guests, vs. abstaining and preferring not to have it around at all? I drink alcohol. Are you a fan of the TV show Penny Dreadful? Meh. I've watched a few episodes but couldn't get into it. What are your coffee and tea preferences? Do you prefer one, the other, both, or neither (and if it's neither, what about things like hot cider and cocoa)? Loose leaf or bags, whole bean or ground? Is caffeine OK? Any gadgetry you're in need of? Any brands or flavors that you particularly love, loathe, or want to try? I used to work for a coffee/tea company (for 8 years!!) but now I am unemployed due to my health, weep. I drink both - I start with coffee in the morning and switch to tea in the afternoon and evening. I make coffee in a variety of ways - I have a burr grinder, so I like whole bean. I use the toddy system to make cold brew, sometimes french press if I'm feeling awake (HA HA this rarely happens), and if I'm really lazy I use my verismo. If I'm SUPER lazy I just buy the cold brew at the grocery store and pour it into my cup... (that is what I'm having right now - some chocolate Stumptown.) I'm not picky about roasts if it's something that tastes good. Some coffees are better for cold brew, others for french press. Please NO DECAF. I do like cider and cocoa but I'm super picky on ingredients. I prefer drinking chocolate but I rarely make it because the process is so lengthy and time consuming. Prefer loose leaf but I'll do tea bags if something isn't available loose leaf. (Loose leaf tea is generally a higher quality.) I really prefer organic but I'll take Whittard, Mariage Frères, Dammann Frères, etc. There are tons on my Amazon edibles wishlist and on Pinterest. Would love to try more Davids tea. Please do not send me Adagio, I have tried multiple times and it just seems bland and boring to me. I prefer black and flavored black. Sometimes flavored green or jasmine. I have an insane love for licorice mint tissanes, like Aveda's comforting tea or Yogi's egyptian licorice mint. What's your sense of humor like? Do you enjoy puns? Play on words? Dirty humor? Dry humor? Who are some of your favorite comedians? I read Christopher Moore. I enjoy puns but I'm not super punny myself. I have the mind of a dirty 12 year old. I'm so dry that most people don't either get my jokes or realize I'm joking. (I don't watch comedians though, so no idea.) Do you like board games? If so, which ones? Traditional or more unique? (like Settlers of Catan, Small World, Red Dragon Inn, etc) I'm slowly collecting CAH (I join the Holiday Bullshit every year) and it might be fun to have exploding kittens, but the problem is that you need people to play games with and I'm really isolated being both aspergers and having chronic pain and respiratory issues. I don't go places very often and people are too busy to come over here (plus I hate having company - see the paragraph about my house being gross.) So... yeah. I'd really love to go on the JoJoCruise and play games. And I need to learn Magic again. Maybe I could get a job at Wizards of the Coast since they're like 15 minutes away. I do always lust after things like Nightmare Before Christmas monopoly editions and such but they would never get used. It's not like I'm going to have more kids ever (my son is 25 and doesn't live here! I gave him all of my RPG stuff. Cyberpunk, Shadowrun, Paranoia, AD&D, Vampire the Masquerade, etc. books. And an edition of Talisman because I like torturing people.) Is there anything that you specifically do NOT want to receive? - Bars of soap or solid soap of any sort (I only use solid soap to wash my hands in ONE bathroom and we use liquid soap everywhere else. I use shower gels or scrubs in the shower. Plus I make soap - so I have boxes and boxes of unused soap that I just can't use fast enough. And people are always always giving me soap bars so I have a couple boxes of Lush, Villainess, Paintbox Soapworks, and other soap too. Sigh. The exception would be cold or hot process soap that you made yourself, like Yewberry's soap. But please no melt & pour or other bar soap. - Scarves. I'm a knitter and people are always giving me scarves! No! Stop! I have 5,000! I seriously don't have room for them all and have started donating them. - Hats. I don't wear any kind of hat except a news boy type cap. - Halloween decor like ghosts, witches, orange pumpkins, spiders, black cats. (Bats, skulls, ravens, gargoyles, skeletons, etc. are good - I never put them away.) - Baked goods with walnuts. I hate walnuts. Sorry!!! I really just don't like nuts in baked things as a rule - it's a texture thing. - Key Chains - Lanyards - Coffee mugs (unless it's on a wishlist. I have so many coffee mugs that I have to double stack them. I have more packed away out in the shed.) - makeup or nail polish - I feel picky now but I don't want people to waste postage, time, and effort on things I'll probably donate or give away. HOWEVER, if something that I said I didn't want is on a wishlist, be sure I would like to receive it. What? I'm inconsistent. Plain or fun socks? As long as they're black or black & (color) striping, they should be ok. I prefer thicker over thinner. Would love hand knitted socks. My measurements are linked in my Ravelry profile. Name one (or as many as you would like) thing you would like to learn more about? I'd like to go back to school but I don't have any money, so I need to learn more about applying for grants. (There is no way I'll do a loan that I have to pay back for the rest of my life.) But that isn't really a fun switch witch sort of thing. I'd like to do more needle felting, cross stitch (except I'm going blind), etc. I need to learn how to make stitch markers. And expand my soap making repertoire. What one thing you would like to do more of? exercise. horse back riding. cooking. (obviously I can't count.) What are some things that fascinate you? Or, What would you like to know more about? I'm fascinated by ... um... video games? I love to go to renn faires except they are usually too hot, too crowded, and getting too commercial so as I get older and fatter the appeal lessens more and more. Would you like any cookie butter (just to be clear, store-bought, not home-made, and does contain wheat since it's, y'know, cookie butter)? hells no. Nasty. *shudder* Is there any particular piece (or pieces) of art (painting, photograph, etc) that speaks to you in some way? Most art that I'm interested in is linked in the "art" area of my etsy favorites or on pinterest (or both.) Too many things speak to me. (I'm a weeper and I cry at the drop of a hat over sad, happy, anything.) What kinds of things would you like from the Lilith BPAL or BPTP update (or are you joining a decant circle?) From BPTP I am interested in hearing reviews of En Garde (I don't like rum scents, so it depends on how overpowering the rum is.) Looks like I'm doing a decant circle that will include most of the Liliths other than the BPTP ones, so I'm probably set. Do you want to received knit or crocheted items? If so, could you describe or even link to a couple of items similar to what you would like to receive? I'm not a fan of crocheted items unless they are amigurumi or an afghan. I do like knitted items but as I said earlier, no hats or scarves please. You can see the items I love in my Ravelry Favorites. Unfortunately there are quite a few there for inspiration, not that I want people to make for me. I'll try to go through and make some bundles of "things you can make for me" - I do have a bunch already tagged Vamp Swap for a vampire swap I'm in. I also have yarn in there that I would like to get my hands on... What thing do you want to do (or get) but you keep putting off for one reason or another? Go back to school, exercise, knit more, cook, go through all of my BPAL and cull the herd, etc. I've been avoiding the world and playing video games. Would you like anything from Lush? I always like things from Lush (except bars of soap, ha ha!) Unfortunately most of the stuff I want is expensive. I could use more Greased Lightning, I like the green solid sugar scrub. I rarely hardly ever take baths so would prefer no bath bombs or bubble bars. No massage bars either please. Or their lip balm or scrub. (I'm such a curmudgeon!) Love the dusting power and would like to try the vanilla one but also love the Silky Underwear. I have Lush stuff on my Amazon bath and beauty wish list. Oooh the Lord of Misrule is something I've wanted to try! Added to Amazon list. Do you prefer hand-made or store-bought? It depends on the thing and on how good the person making it is... There are some things that are just better when purchased and other things that are totally better when hand-made. SPICY! Scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being "oh, that's a bit too much black pepper for me" and 10 being "ghost pepper? scorpion pepper? I laugh at these! I love as much heat as you can throw my way!" Where are you? I prefer things with a lot of flavor but not necessarily a lot of heat. Green tobasco sauce for example. Tangy and savory. I usually get my thai and indian food "mild" or "one star". I can probably do 50,000-100,000 on the scoville scale but I usually prefer more like 5,000-50,000. What is your BPAL "Holy Grail"? Well, to me "Holy Grail" means something unobtainable, so I'd have to say Formula 54 or Pumpkin King. Analog or Digital? Or Both? I usually buy cds and rip them if I want to add them to my ipod. Sometimes I'll buy single songs if there is a sale or something. What scents from other perfume companies are you really wanting to have in your collection and or are just really wanting to test? Companies like NAVA, Arcana, Solstice Scents, Possets, Haus of Gloi etc.....? All of this info is in my "SW Help" link in my signature. I do NOT like possets. I don't like most Haus of Gloi stuff because it seems like almost all of it contains either foody, fruit or floral and my favorite scents are resins, musks, spices. I like really good vanilla scents but nothing there has caught my eye. If it has, I have added it to my wish list. I have some Solstice Scents, NAVA, Mara Fox Love Potions, etc. and I really don't like most of them. I do like Arcana and I have a good amount of things on my wishlist. The number one Arcana I would like is Queen Crossbones. I love the Arcana hand cream too. I like Cocoa Pink's shampoo (especially the Princess Poo), their scrubs and their extremely huge list of vanilla type scents. And their marshmallow is glorious. I love Villainess but again I have a hard time finding something I REALLY like because of the fruit/floral aspect. I like decadence. I love the smacks and am out of my rose/vanilla layered one (2x rose, 2x vanilla bean.) I would LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE more Moonalisa items in Bohemian Velvet. I had the shower gel and it's gonnnnne. I need more!! (I still have potion lotion and I don't really like it, so please no potion lotion.) I find the Moonalisa lip balm to be too oily as well; I feel like it needs more beeswax and a heavier butter. I've had things from violette market and was meh about them. Do you have an affinity for any specific animals? I like most animals but I especially love bats, ravens, pit bulls, horses (especially friesians and andalusians/lusitanos) and ferrets. I've owned rats too and mine were super sweet but I don't love vermin rats or rats in general. Just pet rats. I've always wanted a pocket pig (a real one, please don't send me pig figurines or stuffed pigs because those are not my thing. I want a real actual pet pig. But not enough to encourage backyard breeding, pig mills, or fad breeding by purchasing one.) Also I would prefer not to be sent rubber bats, rats, or little feathered ravens because people have beat you to that about 500 times. ) One of my most precious possessions is a little amigurumi black and white pit bull that looks like Miss Lela, who passed away this year in July at 18 years old. I also love whales and dolphins. As for mythical creatures, I love equine ones of all sorts but especially the hippocampus. Kitchen Needs or Wants? Too many to list. I have a whole section on my amazon list devoted to this category. My kitchen has a skull/skeleton theme. I have bone shaped silverware, skull cookie jars and salt/pepper shakers, skeleton arm salad tongs, skull bottle stopper, skull bottle opener, skeleton apron, etc. And NMBC cookie jars, cannisters, mugs, and bowls. (I would love more NMBC bowls/plates.) I'm pretty set on coffee mugs (I have so many that I have two huge boxes packed up and stored and the rest are scattered between the upstairs and downstairs kitchen, stacked two high, and I still don't have room for them all, seriously, don't get me mugs.) Things I'd like off the top of my head are the skull themed measuring spoons and measuring cups from world market, I think those are pretty inexpensive. I also can not have too many pyrex bowls (with lids) that have bats on them. I try to buy some every halloween. Sorry, I know I answered this under decorating style too - I'm in so many swaps right now that I can't keep track of which questions I have answered in which swaps. Makeup! Do you like it, would you want some? If so what brands do you like to wear? I wear prescriptives brand foundation and powder. Stila eyeliner (it's the only one I've found that doesn't run or disappear, I have very oily skin.) I could use some new moisturizers but most of the ones I want are really expensive. I don't actually wear makeup that much; if I'm just going to the store I'll do my eyebrows and eyeliner. If I'm going somewhere fancy or a club, I'll do full face. Usually I don't even leave the house so I do nothing except moisturize. Chocolate fiends ahoy! What kind of chocolate do you like? Do you like any other things in it or just plain good ole chocolate? I like creamy dark and milk chocolate. I'm kind of a chocolate snob but I've found relatively inexpensive alternatives. I love the Vosges Naga bar (I think they've changed the name to indonesian curry and coconut or something much harder to say), Moonstruck salted caramel nut bars, most things from Fran's (especially the chocolate covered salted caramels), imported cadbury crunchies and curly whirly, Dolfin bars (flavors are on my Amazon edibles wishlist), some of the World Market brand sea salt bars (the curry and the coconut), trufflepig peanut butter truffle bars, etc. I don't like Chocolove. I'm not super crazy about Seattle's Chocolates but the San Juan Sea Salt bar is ok. I can eat the Trader Joes peanut butter & jelly bar. Rittersport with hazelnuts or almonds are ok in a pinch. Milka (if imported) is ok. Nothing from Hersheys/Nestle/etc. please. (I do stoop to eating peanut or almond M&M's occasionally. The horror!) Would you be opposed to receiving a ton of Halloween themed items? No, not really opposed. I buy lots of Halloween themed items and I don't ever take them down - skulls, gargoyles, tombstones, bats, ravens, purple lights, etc. As I mentioned earlier though, no black cats, spiders, ghosts, zombies, witches, orange pumpkins, etc. There are some cool dog and raven skeletons at World Market / Target, and a cute sugar skull type dog statue at Target that I am eyeing. (all inexpensive.) Would you be interested in any special little thing I might be able to pick up from the Great Lakes Bat Festival this Saturday? Both Janell Cannon (author of Stellaluna and other kids' books) and Fiona Reid (illustrator for lots of animal field guides) will be there, so would you possibly be interested in something like an autographed copy of Stellaluna or one of Cannon's or Reid's other books? Or something from the Organization for Bat Conservation, like a shirt or other swag? Yes to hoodie, stickers, bag. No to other apparel or swag. What items from the Weenie update interest you, should you have to option of getting anything as a gift from your Witch??? Would you be ok with decants, or bottles? OMG. DOOMED. EDIT: NEVER MIND, I AM DOING A DECANT CIRCLE. BUT I LEFT MY NOTES HERE SO YOU CAN SEE WHAT I LIKE/DON'T LIKE. Heres what Im interested in. HA HA HA. Good thing these are available until after christmas? Maybe I can sell a kidney? Samhain (of course) Second Spring Drifting leaves tinted in the bold reds of pomegranate and currant, the golds of amber and honey, russet myrrh, a touch of cypress-green, and crisp patchouli-brown. (iffy on the fruits and depends on how heavy the leaves are, but amber, honey, myrrh, patchouli are all win.) The Unquiet Grave Frozen white roses, frankincense, white gardenia, white sandalwood, and vanilla orchid. (iffy on the gardenia.) Dead Leaves and Tobacco Dead Leaves, Bourbon Vanilla, and Myrrh Dead Leaves, Frankincense, and Copal Dead Leaves, Honey, and Oudh Dead Leaves, Red Musk, and Neroli (I seriously just want to dump all of these dead leaves into the same bottle.) Not all that crazy about apple but would like to sniff these: Apple I Apple with hay absolute, oats, honey, cream vanilla, and goats milk accord. Apple III Appalachian black apple with sweet tobacco and patchouli, orange blossom, vanilla champaca, lavender, and white honey. (Freaking orange blossom will ruin it for me but hope springs eternal.) Apple IV Red apple with blackcurrant bud, black clove, and vanilla bourbon. (I love all of these notes except apple, which I only like - not love.) Candied Apple Clown White Polyester Spiderweb (just to see what they smell like.) A Phantasmagoria: Scene Conjuring Up an Armed Skeleton Wig powder, amber-perfumed leather gloves, and rose petals with a sliver of oak bark and cauldron smoke. (wig powder? everything else is a huge yes.) A Witch Riding on a Dragon Blackened tonka, patchouli, dragons blood resin, and scorched oak. (depends on HOW scorched the oak is.) Départ Pour Le Sabbat (Aufbruch Zum Hexensabbat) Bourbon vanilla, sweet red patchouli, oudh, goats milk accord, and white honey. (win!) Liebeszauber Honey, rose petals, and carnations a drop of blood red clover, cubeb berries, and vanilla cream. (more win!) The Magic Circle Vanilla-infused frankincense and clary sage with 7-year aged patchouli, jasmine sambac, honey myrtle, and oudh. (all win, except maybe the jasmine and myrtle.) The Sorceress An evocation incense of frankincense, styrax, lavender buds, mastic, and white sandalwood mingled with moonflower, violet absolute, tuberose, and dark musk. (violet absolute, you would try to ruin it.) The Witches Pumpkin cream, honey, vanilla sugar, and smoked vanilla bean. (depends on how overpowering the pumpkin is.) The Witches Sabbath Burgundy and champaca resin with immortelle, leather accord, wine-soaked red fruits, rose geranium petals, red patchouli, guttering candles, and smoke. (yes!) La Femme de Satan Red musk and cacao with clove, caramelized tobacco, aged patchouli, red currant, black leather, and vanilla-infused amber. (depends on how juicy red the currant is and how overpowering the cacao.) La Ronde du Sabbat Oman frankincense, black clove, and tobacco tar. (yes!) Pan Twardowski and the Devil Brown leather, bay leaf, tobacco leaf, lavender, and oudh. (yes!) Portrait of an Unidentified Man as Mephistopheles A debonair lavender fougere cloaked in smoky red musk, red mandarin, and oakmoss. (yes!) Satan Starting from the Touch of Ithuriels Spear Golden amber, carnation, blackcurrant, aged black patchouli, red musk, and vetiver. (hm, vetiver could kill it.) Satan Summoning His Legions White leather and cypress-tinged white musk with cardamom, smouldering incense, Ceylon cinnamon and white sandalwood. (cypress might ruin it) What's your favorite scary movie? Or movies, either way. If you don't like horror, what are your favorite movies to watch this time of year? During the fall I usually try to watch Practical Magic, Sleepy Hollow, Nightmare Before Christmas, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Lost Boys, Sweeney Todd (who am I kidding, I watch that ALL YEAR LONG), Harry Potter movies (also all year long), Addams Family, Sean of the Dead, Corpse Bride, Coraline, Edward Scissorhands, The Crow. I'd really like to watch the Phantom of the Opera with Gerard Butler. You know, I don't think I've ever seen Young Frankenstein. I've seen Beetlejuice once (michael keaton bothers me in that.) I should really expand my Halloween selection. This fall I'm DVR'ing a lot of TV shows... Gotham, Doctor Who, Scream Queens, Agents of SHIELD, Minority Report, The Muppets, How to Get Away with Murder, Heroes Reborn, Ash vs The Evil Dead, Limitless, Grimm, Sleepy Hollow, American Horror Story: Hotel, The Walking Dead, The Flash, ... I'd watch The Vampire Diaries except that I missed the last season and I don't think I have enough space to DVR the whole thing and keep everything else. I still need to catch up on Gotham, The 100, and a few other shows that I gave up on. (Totally gave up on Once Upon a Time.) This is really weird for me because I don't normally watch TV at all and I prefer to marathon shows. Edit: NO MORE DVR, too expensive. so I guess I'll have to try to watch them real time or later on demand. Blu-ray or DVD? I don't have a blu-ray player or game system with blu-ray, so it's DVD. Game systems - console or computer? Mac/PC? Which console? I have a wii (but need to upgrade because it keeps freezing on netflix), an xbox 360 (rarely gets used but sometimes I use it for netflix when I can get a live subscription from some of my friends that work at Microsoft - except that it lives upstairs and I live downstairs.) Mostly PC (some of the games I play are only available on windows but I'm a UNIX girl at heart.) I prefer Skyrim and Diablo on the PC because the controls on the xbox are too wonky. Are you dressing up for Halloween and if so do you need any accessories for if? Don't know if I'll dress up but I'm thinking I need a Weeping Angel outfit. I have pinned how to do greyscale makeup but I'm lazy so if I did it, probably a mask. And maybe the greyscale on my hands and neck. I need wings and a grey dress/robe/thing/gown. Not that I would expect anyone to get them because I'd have to try on the dress and wings are a bit cumbersome to ship and probably expensive (or detailed in the making, or both.) Talk to me about bags, what kinds do you like? Sizes and styles? Don't use purses. My mom makes cool upsized bags from feed bags and sells them on etsy. She also makes felted ones. And project bags for knitting. I'm pretty set on bags. Not that I would be upset if I received more cool bags for grocery shopping (although I have like 50 of them, seriously, my other half keeps taking them out of my car because they take up the whole back seat - I have some really nice canvas-y type ones from Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Metro Market, QFC, etc. as well as the cheapo ones from trade shows with various logos.) I love drawstring project bags big enough for a decent size project and would never say no to ones with cool fabric (Princess Bride, Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, etc.) I can always use decent sized backpacks or messenger bags too, I think I pinned some. I also have some bags on my Think Geek wishlist like the new black handbag of holding (I would use it for knitting supplies.) What are your favorite fandoms and do you want to receive anything related to such? Love Firefly, Buffy, NMBC, LOTR/Hobbit, Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Grimm, Game of Thrones, Princess Bride, Zelda, Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman (especially Delirium and Death, but the Endless in general - I named all of the machines on my network after them), etc. I love receiving useful things with such themes such as what I've already mentioned or things such as what I have on my pinterest, etsy and amazon wishlists. I do prefer things to be useful over merely decorative but other than that, I'm sure there are tons of things out that that I'm unaware of! It's funny, I don't wear a lot of jewelry but I do find myself wanting the "Godsend" symbol from Heroes, the "Key" from Grimm, etc. I would totally hang those in my car or wear them occasionally. I'm thinking I might just need more tattoos instead. BUT WOULD I REGRET IT LATER? I have a lot of fandom related knitting patterns and some knitting books. Something I forgot to put in my initial answers on the application: I have been collecting charms for a "pandora" style bracelet. I have a tardis and a weeping angel. I would LOVE to receive charms related to my favorite fandoms!! And I need the bracelet part too, ha ha! (I can't seem to add JUST the bracelet to my Think Geek wishlist, which is where I got the charms.) What are you planning to order from the Weenies update? I'm running a circle so I will hopefully be able to smell everything before I decide what I'm ordering. The Last Huzzah of the NY Renaissance Faire happens this weekend and I'm going! Is there anything you might want? (Besides a turkey leg, which won't ship well!) Honey root beer and birch beer won't ship well either... (well, we have a vendor who does those at our local ren faires anyway. I always bring home a couple of bottles.) I forgot to get mead this year. I'm always up for mead!!! Do you like comics or graphic novels? Any issues or collections you want to read? Any that I'm interested in are on my Amazon wish list. I do prioritize things as well. Please don't get me anything that is marked LOW or LOWEST (unless you get a super good deal on it; those are there for my benefit so I can find them used someday maybe.) Off the top of my head, I would love the illustrated versions of Princess Bride and Stardust. And The Last Unicorn comics. I'm sure I have a ton of Sandman things on there too. Do you like fanfic? Would you like a story written for you as part of your gift? What characters/fandoms/pairings etc do you like? I'm not really into fanfic. Would Witchees like something from IKEA? (Or any other not always accessible by everyone store?) I have an Ikea locally but I'm always on the lookout for 9 drawer FIRA boxes. (they're discontinued, weep.) I also have a Trader Joes. The things not accessible that I'm probably most interested in are will call pick up for special will call only type stuff. If/when you go to the mall, for which store(s) do you beeline? I don't go to the mall unless I need something specific and then I beeline to that store... Usually only things like Torrid, Hot Topic, Sephora, Teavana, Lush, Nordstrom, Origins, B&BW, Yankee Candle. Do you receive any subscription boxes (julep, lootcrate, ipsy, birchbox, etc.)? No. I really kind of want the Bark Box for the dogs and the Loot Crate for me. Do you like tarts/candles/incense? If so, what type of scents? Yes to tarts and candles (but not tealights - I love votives, pillars, jars, etc. I think I mentioned that I could use some ritual candles as well but maybe that was another swap since I'm in three active ones right now), no to incense. Yes to wall plug ins (the refills from B&BW) and to oil burner oils. Anything on my extensive favorite scents is good for candles/tarts - I just updated my wish list and profile so that they matched. I added dislikes to my wishlist. For candles I don't mind fruity but I still tend to go for vanilla, spiced vanilla, buttercream, marshmallow, woody, smoky, resiny, spicy, foresty, rose, lavender, sandalwood-vanilla, sandalwood-coconut, witches brew (yankee candle) and I'd LOVE try the new halloween yankee candle scent. It was sold out online. I do the wall plug ins from B&BW (Wall flowers?) but I only have one plug in. I could use another just plain one. I love the electric tart burner that Tarty is selling on her site, Paintbox Soapworks. Is there anything you wish you could have picked up from the Dragon*Con exclusives? I joined Deek's decant circle and have not received any of my items yet, so I can't say which ones I'd want. Is there a GC you've been dying to try but haven't got around to yet? Well there aren't a whole lot I haven't received an imp of at one time or another, but I would like a bottle of Goblin (it's out of stock right now.) There are quite a few I'd like to have decants or imps of, those are on my wishlist (see signature.) The questionnaire asked about gold & silver jewelry, but how do you feel about copper jewelry? Do you like colorful jewelry, or do you prefer to keep it neutral? No copper or bronze or anything other than stainless steel or sterling silver. I've tried colored titanium jewelry and those made me break out and the color flaked off, so either they weren't really titanium (just painted) or I'm allergic to that too. I have a lot of jewelry type things on my etsy jewelry category so you can get an idea of what I like but honestly I almost never wear jewelry. I really need some new stud earrings but they really need long posts because my stupid lobes are so thick. We asked about decorating style, but are you interested in receiving decorations for your home? Are you interested in things that go on the wall or things that go on shelves? I love gargoyles/grotesques (that hang on walls) and wall sconces but I don't need any knick knacks. Super cool magnets would be ok. Huge throw pillows (I use them as lap desks), lap blankets. I do have a huge selection of things for the Home on my Amazon wishlist (one of the ones on the side called Furniture and Home. There are a ton of halloween decor type things on there that I would like of like that are knick knacks. ha!) Office supplies hound? Pens, pencils, journals, any preference, or favorites? I can't write very well so I prefer not to receive any type of journal or writing implements please. Talk to me about socks! Is there anything, dear, dear Witchee, that I can get for you from Sock Dreams? Anything from another place? meh. I think I talked about this in the previous question about fun or plain socks. I have huge feet, muscular calves, and fat thighs so I feel like a lot of stuff never fits. I'll go look at Sock Dreams and if there is anything that catches my eye I'll use the universal amazon wishlist deal and they will be saved to my "wearables" list. I wouldn't mind receiving hand knitted socks - my measurements are all linked to my ravelry profile. I live near a huuuuge candy store. What kind of candy do you like? Gummies? Caramel? Chocolate? Sour? Sugar-free? Most of the candy type things I'm interested in are either pinned to my Pinterest (Eat Me board) or on my Amazon wishlist (Edibles section.) edit: and on my etsy food favorites. How do you feel about animal products? Not so much animal toys or food, but more like furs, paws, bones, etc. I kind of have mixed feelings about this as we have raised animals for food and we try to use all of the parts if possible (rabbits, chickens, turkeys, steers, goats.) I own fur (inherited), leather jackets, belts, shoes, etc. I have a huge bag of buckskin that is from my grandfather. It's super buttery soft and I need to figure out what to make with it. It's mostly scraps but maybe enough for shoes/gloves/hat (although not really what I'd want to make.) How do you feel about "toys" - stuffed animals and the like? I like amigurumi (crocheted toys) or small knitted toys but in reality I don't have much room for anything like that and it's possible that they would be eviscerated if my dogs got a hold of them while I was not looking. Did you see the eclipse last night? How do you feel about astrological events, like eclipses? Any interest in the Blood Moon Eclipse scent from BPAL? I saw bits of it but didn't sit outside and watch the whole thing. I kept checking on it though. Shared some photos from my family and friends on facebook. My other half, R, goes back to California tomorrow after being home for a week and my brother's birthday is going to happen while R is out of town (R will be gone until November) so we took brother out for birthday dinner. Love astrological events and how it's easier to keep track of them through BPAL... Someone might have already ordered the Blood Moon scent since she had some PayPal balance from selling other BPAL. Thinkingshe might order the lunacy too after seeing reviews on how awesome it was. Witchee's, how tall are you? And perhaps, what's your arm span (from wrist to wrist)? Um, I'm about 5'6" and arm span is approximately 57" if I'm measuring it myself like I would for a shawl. (I like my shawls and wraps much longer than that if this pertains at all.) How do you feel about the 4 elements? Or are you more of an Asian 5 elements person? Do you feel strongly about any of the elements, like a connection or a preference? Um, I'm not really into the elements per se? My zodiac sign, Virgo, is earth. I'm a Metal Dog on the lunar zodiac calendar (Autumn and night time are definitely mine, I match up pretty well there. People describe me as "hypervigilant". But I also meet a lot of the virgo things.) I've never felt super close to earth, more to water. And the animals I like best were supposed created by Poseidon (horses! hippocampus!) How do you feel about bento boxes? Is it something you would use if you were to get one? No thank you! Scarves, shawls or cowls? Mittens, gloves, fingerless mitts or wristlets? No scarves or cowls please. I don't like triangular shaped shawls - I like long skinny crescent or boomerang shawlettes, circular shawls or wraps/stoles. No mittens or gloves. I wear fingerless mitts. I have all kinds of things in a "make for me" bundle under my ravelry favorites. how do you feel about online classes? Like, say, craftsy or creativebug? Or even lynda.com? I don't really like online classes, sorry! Too much back and tail bone pain! What do we want from Paintbox Soapworks? (or their etsy site.) Pretty much the only thing I would want are the sorbettos and/or tarts -- unless she gets more of the heavy goat milk body cream in a jar in lavender honey. (No slip, that doesn't work for my skin.) Oh, and the tart warmer. I will say that I have am NOT short on scrubs - I have about 10+ in my closet to still use, and a have a few boxes of tarts, so these are super NOT a priority. Would like to try scents of tarts/sorbettos in: - Afternoons + Eiderdowns - Candyfloss - The Englishman - Halcyon - Libby and Lavender - Smoky Jack - Whiskers If I were to make you some art, would you prefer a frame that hangs or one that sits? And what color/style would you prefer? I don't have any room for anything that sits so hang it is! I like black or silver frames. Not sure about style, usually boring. *wink* How do you feel about gourmet marshmallows? Meh. I'm not a huge fan of marshmallows except for the scent in Cocoa Pink stuff. *wink* I don't mind them on drinking chocolate or in smores but I prefer the vegan style. Although "fudge" made with the marshmallow creme is pretty good. Are you a slatherer or a dabber? depends on the scent. I would say more in between. Talk to me, dear witchies, about tea. I know we've covered this a little, but I really need the nitty gritty here- not just companies you like and don't like (Teavana? Adagio? David's? Some tiny place?) but I also want to know the other stuff: top 3 flavors, loose or bagged, the kinds of tea accessories you use- or have always wanted. Be specific. Provide links if necessary. I have already said that I prefer loose leaf tea as that is generally higher quality. I listed companies I like/don't like. Prefer stainless steel, glass or ceramic over plastic accessories. I'm trying to do away with any plastic things I have that are food making or storage related. I don't like "tea ball" infusers, I prefer this kind. I also have an ingenuitea (but ugh plastic) and a glass pot with a plastic infuser (which I never use the infuser part of, because plastic.) The glass pot is great for "blooming" tea though. I have a Tardis (chrome colored) teapot and metal infuser but they are brand new, purchased during a huge sale, and I might gift them to someone else in a swap at some point. Never opened, sitting in my storage area. I would love a cast iron pot but I worry about the quality of the ones from World Market since they have a big warning that you are not supposed to actually use them on a burner or get them hot (maybe the paint quality is really bad?) The top three blends I would like to try are all on my Amazon edibles wishlist - Whittards 1886 blend (and a few other Whittard blends, all available from Annies Tea Time in California), Butterscotch from Mariage Freres, and anything on my list from Damman Freres (unfortunately I don't know where you can get Mariage or Damman in the US anymore. The Tea Cup here in Seattle used to carry them before going out of business.) Villainess is putting out brand new stuff for the first time in a while (as opposed to bringing back former lines). Sooo.... who wants it? Way ahead of you. I already added to my Pinterest. How does everyone feel about duct tape crafts? Any favorite patterns? No thank you! Are there any flowers you especially like? Mostly extremely fragrant flowers. Roses (especially blue and black ones. Grandiflora, floribunda, rugosa, whatever. Love Potion, Sterling Silver, Taboo, Purple Tiger, etc. The more fragrant the better. I had over 50 bushes before I moved.) Stargazer Lilies. Lavender (I used to have 11 varieties before I moved.) Chocolate cosmos is fun. Scented geraniums. Gardenias except it isn't humid enough here so mine never bloom. Jasmine of all sorts. I have mostly herbs and things for bees/butterflies in my little tiny container garden - Bee balm, salvia, many varieties of mint, sage, basil, oregano, lavender, thyme, lemon verbena, etc. Would you be interested in any cozies or cases (yarn o fabric, not hard cases) for tech stuff (phone, laptop' etc) or for cups/mugs/bottles or anything else similar. No thank you, I've already made all of the ones I need. Would you like Halloween or Day of the Dead themed ornaments or a "bunting"? No buntings or ornaments. I don't have room for knick knacks or hanging banners/bunting/ornaments. I do like day of the dead themed things as you can probably tell by my Pinterest (I KNOW, they're in my Halloween group, but it's named that because of NMBC! I know they're not Halloween stuffs! *hangs head*) Are there witchees who would like book related gifts like a booklight, bookmark, bookseat or something for your reading gadget, like a cover or a light for example. Please no bookmarks. I don't use them and I keep getting them gifted to me. I seriously have a box of bookmarks (metal, laminated, paper, with yarn, ribbons, beads, etc.) I mostly use my ipad for reading these days. So I don't need a light or anything. (I have a huge ott lamp right above my couch area that I use to knit so if I'm reading a hard copy book, I just use that.) I make handmade journals, mini albums and similar items. Would my witchee be interested in something like that? I think I already mentioned that I do not want any journals or paper items or recipe cards or notebooks or pens or pencils or ... sorry! can't write! sucks! What songs/music/artists/CD's do you like to listen to around Halloween? It doesn't really ever change for me. I'm lucky if I ever change the cd in my car since I don't carry my huge book with me. Sometimes I remember. Usually not. In which case it's radio or sometimes I'll plug my phone in. But I lost my itunes hdd and haven't bothered trying to recover it yet (I'm thinking maybe it was the computer that died - system board - and not the hdd but I'm just too unmotivated to look into it. I haven't even bothered hooked up my new printer that has been sitting here in a box for months. So, um, long story short, I haven't loaded any new music on my phone in ages either. And I'm too lazy to bring my ipod unless I'm going on a long trip although nowadays I'll just listen to an audio book on audible. Are you interested in leg warmers at all? No. Is your Halloween style scary, cutesy, folksy, grotesque . . .? Sugar skulls, skulls, skeletons, bats, gravestones, gargoyles/grotesques. But this is normal for all year, it isn't halloween specific... We carve pumpkins. I have an actual coffin out in the shed that sometimes we use for decor in the front yard but the past 5-6 years we haven't done anything. So I would say more Gothy. Definitely not folksy. I'm all black, silver, purple or red. None of this orange/brown autumn crap. *wink* But not really cutesy or scary. I mean, I like cutesy cthulhu stuff (pink! stuffed!) but other people might consider that sinister. I bought the Portal board game last week & it came with a Portal 2 steam free download code. I already have the game on another console & it's one of my favorite series of all time. Soooo, would you want it? I have not played Portal. Would it work as a steam download for my PC? I think the only steam game I currently play is Skyrim. But I would be interested in trying it! Have you read The Martian? Or do you plan on watching the movie? Other half is out of town so no movies for me in theatre. Maybe we will see if when he is back but most likely will wait until available on redbox and I have a free rental code. Not really my type of book to read either. NaNo: Pertaining to that, how does everyone feel about such things? Will anyone be participating? How about NaNo swag, is there any you want? No thanks, I loathe writing. I do like reading though! Honey or beeswax products? Discuss. As a beekeeper I love honey! But I am sincerely grossed out by overly processed and contaminated honey that is sold in grocery stores and will only get honey directly from beekeepers. (Honey is one of those things that the FDA doesn't regulate or test and there is a lot of it dumped on our market by other countries because the other country won't allow it to be sold there because of all the poison and chemicals in it! Seriously! Scary shit!) I don't currently have bees; I need to order a queen and drones. But I have the suit and hives and etc. My parents usually have bees on their property and receive honey and honeycomb in exchange. I love ethically sourced beeswax, again preferably directly from the beekeepers. How do you feel about bumper stickers and car magnets? What do you like--cute, pretty, snarky, geeky/fandomy? I have some on both my Amazon and my etsy lists. Would love some Firefly ones! I like fridge magnets too. I'm more snarky geeky fandomy. Do you have any phobia's that your Witch should be aware of? Not especially. acrylic yarn? walmart? lack of coffee? Trading Post Weenies are live! Anything calling to you? I love the skull mug and am lusting over the Goodbye perfume (with the spirit board) and wouldn't say no to the Yes perfume either. But so expensive. I'd kind of like to try the Dead Leaves, Patch, Warm Musk, Honey HG but I'm afraid of the dead leaves note. I'm thinking that October room spray would be nice once in a while, but maybe not nice enough to get a whole bottle of. Speaking of nail things, it that time of year and I am doing my jamberry order, Would you want some Lovely Jamberry's for your nails? I only paint my toenails, so no thank you. The only thing I would put on my fingernails would be strengthener, which I do need. Do you like or want to try Marmite? Isn't that a large squirrel??? (oh, no, wait, that's Marmot!) No thanks, I'm good. I think I can get marmite here at World Market if I so desire. Some folks have already said they do not want used nail polish. If you haven't already chimed in about that... would you be interested in a bottle of BPTP claw polish (in this case, either Event Horizon or Baku) that has been used for one manicure? I have already purchased all of the BPTP polishes I wanted, I think the same day they came out. Are there any DISCONTINUED (not LE) BPAL oils that you wish you had, or had a little more of? Bitch, Grr, and I never got to try Ugh. And of course Loviatar, Black Opal, Antique Lace, De Sade, Blood Countess, March Hare, Yvaine, Fairy Market (the Stardust perfumes were my first purchase in 2007.) Maybe an imp of Tintagel. Is there anything fairly basic that you're always running out of and need to buy more of? I go through the new iphone/ipad cables pretty fast but I get them at Frys for $5 or so. Lighters/matches for candles. (I used to collect matchbooks. I wonder what happened to them all? Probably out in my shed.) Lip balm (but I'm pretty picky on balm and try to get all natural/organic stuffs.) Anything interest you from the recent Blooddrop update? YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Vanilla Marshmallow Sugar Bar Goodnight Pumpkin Sugar Bar And these sound good too (but I definitely don't need more perfume): Ankou - Dry amber, black musk, soft Autumn spices, Somalian myrrh, labdanum, Bourbon vanilla, and lavender. Elegy - Ceremonial musk, Indian sandalwood, Somalian myrrh, sweetened clove, tea rose, vanilla, and American lavender. Misfortune - Vanilla tea darkened with anise. Pumpkin Musk - Rich pumpkin spices, amber, a blend of black musks, wood notes, myrrh, patchouli, and sweet clementine. Santa Meurte - A beautiful, deep fragrance of warm, red musk, deep labdanum, tobacco, marigold, ginger, sweet davana, and the reddest blood red rose. How to you feel about foreign spices/flavorings? I love them! I would like to cook more thai, indian, greek, etc. So far I've only done Indian and it's pretty easy (and to be honest, we have a lot of international markets and indian specific groceries around so finding spices isn't very tough.) I love different gourmet sugars and salts as well. I need a mortar and pestle for all of my whole spices - I know I have one somewhere but it's packed out in one of the three sheds with the majority of my belongings so kind of in limbo. Dearest Witchee, can I get you anything from Shiro Cosmetics? I'm going to place an order soon and perhaps you are interested in some of their goodies? https://shirocosmetics.com (https://shirocosmetics.com) I don't wear a lot of cosmetics unless we're going out but I added some to my pinterest.

There is a Flickr group for BPAL bottles and I have a ton of older bottles on my Flickr page as well (in my signature) if anyone is so inclined. Unfortunately I have not kept up with new ones because of physical issues but maybe someday.

Unreleased prototype, no scent description given. Cinnabar, derived from Greek kinnabari, is a mineral, mercuric sulfide, occuring in red crystals or masses. Used as a pigment (bright red or vermillion). Also a red resinous juice of a certain Eastern tree, which was believed to be a mixture of dragon's and elephant's blood. A light yellow oil, this one is interesting and very different. It is spicy, like caraway, but not really foody. On the skin, a more medicinal fragrance appears but I can't pin point exactly what. Medium throw.
