In the bottle: Resiny and very slightly woodsy. Reminds me of the sweet wood (teak maybe? tonka?) from Wood Phoenix. On the skin: This blend takes on a life of its own! So pleasant and comforting! I have never smelled anything quite like this before and can't equate it with any places I have been. So unique! On me, the dry down is sweetish, yet with an overall resiny base. I don't usually like scents like this, so the notes are extremely hard to place. Very lovely though! I could see this as being an excellent scent on the right man. Now where is my SO.... hee hee! -EDIT- This one also lasts FOREVER on my skin. Wow! And it also has an amazing throw!

You are meeting up with someone on a casual lunch/early afternoon thing. This person is someone you want to impress/look good for (for whatever reason, not necessarily romantic, and not necessarily for business either). What would you look like, given the contents of your wardrobe/etc? Hmmm... I guess jeans, a nice shirt (either red or gray) and one of those loose open front long sleeve or half sleeve sweater things. Either black or gray. Yeah, the nice part of my wardrobe is seriously lacking. You are to be let loose in a clothing store of your choice, to pick a full outfit, down to the shoes, the accessories, etc. and things would be altered to fit you if needed. What store would that be, and what would you look like? I think I'd love to be let loose in Macys. Well, actually I'd love to be in M&Co, but since that is a UK store, I guess Macy's is okay. I'd go for a lovely dress with a v neck in darker colors either green or blue. Maybe gray. I'd also get a nice pair of shoes with a half high heel, a belt, and a nice lacy undershirt. You open a box from the post office to reveal the 3 things you want most right now. What are they? (caveats: size doesn't matter, but they have to be tangible/buyable). The end of this month I'm going to Scarefest, the big horror and paranormal con in Kentucky. (www.scarefest.com) If I were your witch, is there anything you would like from there (skull jewelry, art prints from an artist that catch your eye, etc), or anyone whose autograph or photo or such you would dig? What is your holy grail "I'd kill to just have one drop in an imp" bpal scent? Storyville! Been wanting to try that one for awhile! Are there any existing Weenies that you have your eye on, but haven't gotten around to getting? I've actually been able to keep myself from ordering any somehow... if you wear earrings, do you have pierced ears? Yes! I only really like to wear stud earrings. I'm too afraid of dangly things in my ears. My new job is at a consignment store where we have all kinds of designer brands for very reasonable prices. Are there designer clothes/purses/sunglasses that you desire/love? (Give some indication as to your "style" as well. For example, do you like bohemian-style frocks in lavender? Crossbody purses in black? Sunglasses that are round and bug-like?) I realize that we had a similar question in the ?aire, but I need you Witchee-s to list at least 5 items, each ranging $20 and under from Amazon.com or Walmart.com. In the meantime, let me know what you like to do on the Internet to kill time. Flash games? What are your daily websites/blog visits, or favorite YouTube videos? And what are your favourite characters from your fandoms? Donna, Amy, and the tenth Doctor from Doctor Who. Starting to warm up to Matt Smith though. Inara and Kaylee from Firefly. Well, really anyone from Firefly. Picard from Star Trek. Jasmine from Aladdin. Rapunzel from Tangled. My Little Pony... Cute or meh? I like the original My Little Pony best. Lip balm - tube or tin? Tube! Would you like to receive a journal or sketchbook? How about other pretty paper goods like post-its, notepads, bookmarks, letter paper/envelopes? Are you interested in audiobooks? If so, any specific titles? Yes, please! I like fantasy books the best. I just got Hunger Games and would love other books in that series. Bar soaps with some scrubby bits, yes or no? Sounds good! Do you need any small electronic gadgets like flash drives and the like? I'm pretty good with flash drives. I need a new mouse for my computer though. Would you like a pair of knitted socks? No thanks! I really have too many pairs of socks as it is. Do you have any use for knitted dishcloths, facecloths, etc, especially if they were fandom related? I'd be afraid I'd ruin it. Do you subscribe to any sample boxes, and if so, which ones? Would you like to receive some samples? I subscribe to EcoEmi and I am trying out the PopSugar box. do you have a problem with nudes??? If not, do you prefer male or female? Paintbox Soapworks: Interested in anything from her? are there any other e-tailers you're desperately wanting to try? if so, any specific items/scents/etc? ThinkGeek: anything interesting to you on there? Everything! I saw a death star tea strainer that looks awesome! Also, a tardis mug. Oh! And the Firefly art nouveau wall hangings. Love the girls the most! What's one thing you want, right now, that you're having difficulty finding? Who here is going to be picking up JK Rowling's new book on Thursday? Not me. What do you do to take care of yourself when you're having a rough day (sick, life not going your way, whatever)? favorite and least favorite baked goods? I am in the mood for anything pumpkin at the moment! Don't like anything with nuts. what size T-Shirt do you wear (standard AND babydoll)? I don't really wear baby dolls. I think if I did I might be a xl? I like shirts a bit larger and usually wear a large in men's style. I found a fantastic little shop while traveling that had unusual jellies and jams. Would you be interested in trying something like Georgia Moonshine Jelly or TOE Jam (each letter stands for some kind of fruit, I don't remember which ones) or something similar? How about homemade jam in general? Would you be interested in homemade herbal remedies and tinctures? Sounds interesting! Owls? Cute! Do any of Villainness' Soap Box exclusive scents interest you, especially any of the Smooches/Whippeds? Puddin' just put a shitton of old Lunacy shirts on the BPTP Etsy! Any ones interest you? None for me. Witchee, do you want anything from the Haunt update coming up on 10/3? I know it might be too early to say, but if you could look at the preview on the night of 10/2 and let me know if you want anything... Gardening? I don't have a garden. Not really allowed one because of the silly condo association. Do you use or would like to try loose eyeshadow pigments? Definitely! Is there anything you might want from the latest update (Lab or TP)? What's a new company to you that you most want to try a product from or what would be a new product to you that you most want to try (make-up, perfume, or bath/body)? I've been dying to try stuffs from Sweetscents.com If you like necklaces, what are some symbols or images that you would love to have a necklace depict? (ex. spiders, skulls, hearts...?) Willow tree, compass rose, eagle, black and white cat... 9/19 Do you have a forum buddy? Someone who knows you and/or your tastes well enough to answer questions on your behalf? I used to have a friend on the forum, but I don't think she is active anymore. If you are on Livejournal, would you appreciate LJ stuff like paid time, custom userheads, stuff like that? If you are NOT on LJ but are on other sites that have similar paid-for services (Flickr, for example?) would you, and what are those sites/etc? I don't use LJ too often, so something like that wouldn't be for me. Hmmm... I am considering subscribing to audible.com since I listen to TONS of audio books at work. Not sure if they have something like that. I've been getting all my audio books recently through librivox.org. if you are into tarot, what is your favorite card? I like tarot. I don't own a deck or anything though, and I mostly really love it for the artwork. I think the cards that speak to me the most though are the High Priestess, the Chariot, and the Star. (I absolutely love the star card from the Aleister Crowley Thoth Tarot set) I can't stop looking at tarot now! The Tarot Art Nouveau deck is BEAUTIFUL! (love the knight of swords!) would you like your own set of handmade rune stones or worry stones? Oooh! Definitely!! I have been very interested in learning more about runes. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cider, or none of the above? Yes to all! Gum, hard candy, soft candy, or none of the above? I like gummies! Hard candy is good too! Loose tea or tea bags? Do you need anything for your loose tea? (Filters, presses, etc.) Both! I'd love a tea pot if you have an extra you don't need anymore. Do you do Goodreads or LibraryThing or a site like that? If so, can I see your to-read list, please? Goodreads! I think a link to me is in my forum signature. 9/18 Are you a gamer (of any sort - video, casual, tabletop) and are there any games you want? I like RPG type video games the most. Playing Skyrim at the moment. Can't think of any specific games I'd like though. Do you like coffee? If so, what kinds? Flavored, fancy, basic? Beans or ground? Yes! I like ground coffees. Flavored is awesome! Especially pumpkin spice. Would a Starbucks gift card make you happy or do you prefer your local place? I go to either Starbucks or Panera Bread for my coffee. Don't really have any others close by. Would you be interested in BPTP CANDY? Sounds pretty good! CUSTOM-Made Pottery?? yea or nay? coffee mugs, rustic or more elegant? a set of bowls? soap dish? bird feeder? something alltogether different? and lastly, good colors for glazes...? As long as it's food safe... Yay!! I like bowls and mugs the most, but a proper vase for flowers would be really useful! Not allowed to have bird feeders at my current place. Songs that you keep meaning to buy but never get round to it? Movies that you love but forgot to put in your questionaire? Name one movie you keep meaning to buy, but just never get around to getting? Phantom of the Opera (most recent version), Hunger Games, Tangled... I actually have a list! Any favorite Bath & Body Works scents/products? Not specifically. Haus of Gloi is offering custom perfumes - would you like one? What would your ideal blend be? Any Bath, Body or nutritional type items you would love to try from a Natural and Organic food store (similar to Whole Foods) that you don't buy because they are a bit too pricey? Tell me of your taste preferences. Dry/sweet? Red/white? Lager/ale/porter/stout? Fruit? Spice? Hops? Sour (brettanomyces, etc)? I am a mead person. I prefer sweet most of the time, but my SO just made an amazing dry blackberry mead that I love! I like both red and white wines, but I prefer Pinots in general. (I'd say a good late harvest riesling or gwertztramiener is my favorite!) are there any if MeiLin's books (e-book or print) you'd be interested in? I have Son in Sorrow coming (sometime soon hopefully?) and Lovers and Beloveds in print. Definitely would be interested in print copies of others. I'm about to be near a Lush store next week, is there anything you might like from there? Can't think of anything specific. Witchee, will you be gone from your normal mailing address at any point during the round? I am hoping to go on vacation for four days either near the end of October or the beginning of November. Not too long though! Are you a Disney fan or does even thinking about Disney make your head hurt? If you're into Disney, would you like something from the Happiest Place on Earth ? LOVE Disney! I think Aladdin and Rapunzel are my fav's right now, but if you ask me tomorrow, I'd probably come up with different favorites. There are few Disney movies I don't like! dear witchee, would you, could you use an electric candle warmer? i'm talking something like this. Do you lust after some new socks/tights? 9/17 Ninjas or Pirates? I have an extra room spray and 2 extra bath oils (one Cephalopod, one Exhibit Hall Fatigue) from Dragon*Con - would anybody like a decant? I live near a Mast General Store. It has lots of vintage-y toys, southern foods (jams, jellies, spices) and vintage candy. Is there anything I can get for you? Do you have any Fall or Halloween traditions? a) Are you OK with "special deliveries"? Is the address in your questionnaire the best place to reach you for said deliveries? c) If the delivery requires a phone number (as say, some florists do) would you be OK with that information being tracked down by your Witch or asked of you anonymously? Would you be interested in beer, wine, or other specialty beverages from your Witch's area? Are there any crafts/skills you've wanted to learn but haven't gotten around to? Who here would be happy to get a lil' sumthin sumthin from Adagio Teas? Do you Ravelry? And if so, what's your handle over there? Would you be interested in gift patterns from your queue? Who likes Pumpkin Spice Hershey Kisses? Sounds good!! Put your iPod/MP3 player/what-have-you on random and list the first 10 songs it plays! Witchee, what are your favorite quotes? What's one random thing you really like and one random thing you really dislike? Are there any herbs that you haven't been able to lay hands on that I could send you? If there are no "witchy" shops near you, is there anything I can pick up for you from Enchantments? Some of your favorite artists? Classic and modern? If you could have an image or certain subject painted for you on any type of "canvas" (on a box, on paper, on a canvas, and so on) - could you point your witch to some of these images? Is there a GC scent that's been on your list for ages but keeps falling off the bottom of your order because of the LEs? I've been getting into indie nail polish brands recently. What's your favorite indie brand of nail polish? Or what's your favorite mainstream brand of nail polish? Or are you not big on polish? I haven't really tried many different kinds of nail polish. I'm not allowed to wear it at work, so I never really use it. I would love to find a nice dark TARDIS/jean blue nail polish though. Stuffed things: yea or nay? I have plenty thanks. Though I do have a soft spot in my heart for little amigrumi guys. mix-in-a-jar? How to you feel about cookie or cake or soup mixes that come in jars and you just add, like, an egg or water or what have you? Not really for me. I like making recipes from start to finish. Now if you wanted to send me some recipes and select special ingredients, that would be awesome! I live near this very cool Retro store (you can order online too) - are there things from it that would make you squee if your witch sent them? Sounds awesome! 9/16/12 Marzipan? Not really my thing. Would you be interested in washable/reusable muslin “paper” towels (basically muslin squares hemmed around the edge)? Maybe in some sort of box to put on your kitchen or bathroom counter? Defintiely! Do you drink alcohol and if so, would you be OK with your witch sending you homemade infused vodka? Also, does your state allow alcohol to be shipped through the mail? I do and it sounds good! Not sure about state laws though. I didn't think alcohol could actually be shipped at all... If you get me (or a fellow Aussie, if there are any playing this round) as a witch or witch's minion, would you like to try some Australian specialties, such as TimTams (delicious chocolately cookies), Caramello Koalas (koala shaped chocolates filled with gloopy caramel), Australian native spices or anything like that? I love candies and such, but I'd definitely prefer smaller portions of some kind since I am on a slight diet. Somewhere along the way I learned the bad habit of stuffing my face with anything and everything. If your witch is a knitter, crocheter or sewer, is there a particular type of garment you would love to receive (hat, scarf, wrap, cowl, socks, fingerless gloves, arm warmers etc)? Hmmmmm, arm warmers or fingerless gloves would be awesome! A cowl sounds nice as well. I've never had one of those. Is there anyone else in your house (kids, pets, partner) that would really appreciate a small gift being included for them in the switchwitchy haul so they don't feel left out? The only other person in my house is my SO and I think he'd be fine not getting anything of his own. I think I can share fairly well. Since it's been mentioned several times, and I've also offered to nacho witch some, would you you like to receive wild rice and or maple syrup? I promise to include recipe ideas with the wild rice. Yum!! Love recipes! I have 5 bushels of tomatoes sitting in the kitchen right now that are supposed to turn into red sauce tomorrow, so would anyone like a basic red sauce (spaghetti sauce) to make its way to them? Definitely!! Love it! what are your "fandoms" and would you like a t-shirt from TeeFury if an appropriate one came up? Definitely! I LOVE teefury! I was actually devastated recently when I missed the Indiana Jones shirt. *sigh* I'll be sure to post if I choose to order one! I try not to though. Do you have an eReader and if so which one? I sadly don't have one. I just love having a paper book in my hand. Just the feel and smell of them make me happy. I do listen to a lot of audio books though since I am allowed to listen to music and such while working. Do you like candles, or tart burners, or something? If so, what's your favorite scent to burn? I love candles! I have an oil burner, but my tart burner was lost in my move and I never replaced it. What kind of cuisines do you like? (I mentioned this in my ?aire but curious what my witch may like)And, what are your favorite restaurants? I am obsessed with sushi. I go to the local sushi restaurant (Lotus) every monday or tuesday for half price sushi night. YUM! Really, I just love food. I can't think of a cuisine I don't like! I also love pho, mexican, ethiopian... Yum! I'm from Canada - is there anything specifically a witchee might like that is only available here? Maple syrup anything! One of my past witches sent me some maple syrup tea which is amazing!! Are home made foods acceptable or does the idea of eating strange mailed food disturb you? Doesn't bother me at all! Sounds yummy! I just gave you $20 and sent you into a "has everything" store ala Walmart and told you that you have to come out having spent it all, and none of it on anything you need. What would you buy? Be as specific as possible! I think I'd take a turn around the cosmetics area. I've been wanting to try new eye stuffs especially. Maybe some BB cream (just learned about these!). Oh! Or some of those I Love Cucumbers/Carrots/Blueberries products. Like those! I live near a Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and Penzeys! What does your little heart desire from any or all of these places? I have a Penzeys close by, so I am pretty good with those stuffs. As for the rest... Can't name any specific, but I like yummy things! Do you like cute, seasonal or fluffy PJ bottoms? Like they sell at Target, Old Navy (they have had cute Halloween ones!) If so, what size do you wear? I do! I don't like the incredibly fuzzy ones though since I feel too warm in them. I usually wear either a large or xl. I think I am leaning towards xl right now though! What kind of chocolate do you like? Nuts, no nuts, white, dark, etc? I like peanuts, but not really any other nuts. As for chocolate, I love all chocolate except white chocolate. Do you like s'mores and s'mores-flavored things? I do! I actually used to roast marshmallows over a candle when I wanted s'mores. Haven't done that in so long. Would you enjoy receiving cute but useful items like colorful kitchen utensils/gadgets, or bento supplies? (boxes, chopsticks, accessories, etc?) What about things like spice mixes (homemade, or Penzey's for example) Yes please! I love the idea of bento boxes and have thought about buying them for so long now. Love kitchen utensils! Could definitely use some more tsp/tbsp measuring cups. The garbage disposal accidentally ate a few of them and I haven't managed to replace them yet. Spice mixes are awesome! I LOVE Penzeys. Oh, and their hot cocoa mix is pretty awesome too! What's the neatest freebie you've gotten? It can be cool or thoughtful or just totally unexpected, and not limited to BPALdom. The neatest? Hmmmmm... The most useful one came from lioness during the Spring Cleaning Swap. An awesome french press coffee maker that I have used pretty much every day since I received it! I just love the consideration/generosity of the peoples here on this forum. So awesome!!

2005 version: On the skin: One of the best ambers I have smelled! This is an amber with a slight coolness running through it. Sweet and golden. LOVE IT! 2011 version: Smells similar to the '05 version. (duh!) In fact, to my nose they smell pretty identical. The only difference I can tell at the moment is that the '11 version is a little stronger. I do think I like the '11 version a bit better.

On the skin: Orchid! I recognize this from Great Vampire bat, only this one is not surrounded with incense. Instead this orchid is paired with a light vanilla and creamy musk. A very light scent on me. Starts off slightly plasticky at first, but that seems to fade pretty quickly. It's a pretty scent, but I just don't think it is for me.
-
Strangely, I am getting a musky orange creamsicle vibe from this one. Was not expecting that at all. Definitely smells musky, light orange, and vanilla on me. Huh. This is really good! Kind of a light scent, but I really like the feel of this one. Kind of summery.
-
On the skin: An airy floral. Very breezy and pretty. Slightly sweet as well and pleasant. I could see this one making a very pretty bridal scent. This one seems similar to Joyful Moon without the vanilla. Not for me, but very pretty.
-
On the skin: Sweet berry with a hint of tartness, a tiny bit of greenness, and rose. This is actually very pleasant. I could definitely see a similarity between this one and Moon of Horses. Pleasant, but not for me.
-
On the skin: An herbal scent. This one kinda hurts my nose. I think the lemongrass is the main offender. Really, all I can smell are the herbal notes and nothing more.
-
On the skin: Gummy bears?! This really smells like gummy bears to me! Huh, must be a grape note in there. After a bit, it does smell like a grape candy incense. Yup. Grape candy incense. Not for me, but it is definitely an interesting one!
-
Egyptian amber, mandarin, tangerine, black pepper, tobacco, and vetiver. On the skin: Amber and mandarin! A smooth sexy orange! I can also detect a trace of spiciness in there. Thankfully I don't smell any of the vetiver. I want to say that in a way this reminds me of Cabaret.Goth. I'll need to test them side by side one of these days. This one is really nice now, but I think it will be even better after a month or so. -ETA- Just not for me. All the notes in this one are just a bit too high pitch for me if that makes any sense. I like blends that are a bit deeper.
-
On the skin: Minty fresh with a slight bubblegum feel. This might sound silly, but it smells exactly like this toothpaste I used to have when I was little. A minty bubblegum toothpaste. After a bit I can pick out more of the lemon and herbal absinthe. The minty bubblegum feel is still there, but the other notes are starting to peak out. Not for me, but I am very entertained...
-
This, on first sniff, actually reminds me a bit of TKO. Similar vanilla feel with possibly a hint of lavender. There is a tiny bit of spiciness and a slight sourness too. I think I am going to stick with my TKO. This is nice, but I definitely like TKO better!
-
On the skin: A very soft scent! Fresh green leaves with a hint of rose and some soft musk. Such a soft scent. There is no power to this one at all, so I could definitely see this pretty one being worn around an office or workspace. I take that back. The rose is suddenly becoming very very strong. Not really a bad thing since this is a lovely rose, but I definitely wish I could smell more of the other notes. Not for me.
-
On me this is all lily all the time. Sadly, the only lily that seems to agree with my nose is Stargazer lily. I do get a hint of purple fruits and a slight powdery sweetness as well. This one is lovely, but it isn't for me.

The Arrival at the Sabbath and Homage to the Devil
ami226 replied to LittleGreyKitten's topic in The Salon
I am kinda bummed by this one. All I get from this blend is a splash of florals, slightly bitter sandalwood, and a hint of patchouli. Where's the vanilla and caramel? I'm tempted to keep this one around a bit to see if the other notes pop out later. -
Definitely interesting! I've never smelled actual India Ink before, so I'm afraid I can't compare. As for this, I get a slightly herbal/inky scent. I do get some resins later on with a hint of licorice and paper? Not for me, but I was definitely grateful for the chance to try it!
-
On the skin: Woodsy and spicy! Not getting much sweetness with this one. It's kind of hard for me to pick out individual notes, but I believe I can smell the myrrh, cypress, and some muskiness. I think I'll need to retest this one since it hasn't had a full 24 hrs to sit after arriving in the mail.
-
Teak, ebony wood, osmanthus, patchouli, red sandalwood, vanilla orchid, tonka bean, tobacco, wild musk, spikenard, and sugandh kokila. On the skin: Woodsy with some dirty patchouli. There is a slight sweetness here as well. The dirt is a bit much for me, and it never really fades at all. Not for me.
-
The iris is kind of my family's flower. My mother has iris bulbs in the garden that used to belong to my great grandma and they have followed us through every move. On the skin: A lovely, slightly powdery, blue scent! I could definitely see there being some orris in here because of the powdery hint that I have come to associate with orris. It's pretty, but not for me. The orris really never works for me. -ETA- The one is really interesting though, because when I smell it I don't immediately think floral. It is more just a soft, slightly powdery, sweet scent.
-
On the skin: Apples! Lovely fragrant apples! I usually find apple scents to be kind of overpowering, but this one is so pleasant! I wonder why I sold my bottle so long ago. A sweet apple with a lovely floral running through. I think I'll need to test this again to see if it is truly a keeper. It is pretty and definitely pleasant, but I am not sure how often I'd wear a scent like this.
-
On the skin: This is a very light scent on me. I can barely smell it... What I can smell, though, is a beautiful vanilla. Very very rich and yummy!! Thankfully I can't smell any of the orris. It always seems to ruin blends for me. After a bit I get a slight plastic note. It isn't too strong, more of just a tinge, but I can definitely smell it. Hmmmm, I think I will need to test this one again! -ETA- Trying again: Mmmm, vanilla! I just can't make up my mind on this one. It smells good and slightly reminds me of Love's Philosophy, but for some reason it just isn't wowing me. I still get a slight hint of plastic.
-
On the skin: Beautiful carnations! It does smell pretty true to life with that slight aquatic/green hint to it. Smells like a fresh bouquet of carnations picked straight from the garden. As it dries, this scent starts to get a spicy note. Mmmmmm, spicy carnations. The carnation is my SO's favorite flower, so this one will definitely be sticking around.
-
I may have to retest this again since it hasn't had long to sit out of the box since it arrived. Couldn't help testing it though! On the skin: Pretty! Amber, musk, and sandalwood. Very pleasant in a clean, comforting way. Like mistressfizz, I get a bit of a baby wipe vibe, but overall it is still pretty.
-
On the skin: This one is really different. I get hints of dirt, but for the most part it is a very clean smell. Clean and dirty at the same time? Crazy! Interesting scent, but it isn't for me.
-
... Their scent is a mishmash of snow, dirt, Icelandic moss, marsh felwort, and the smushed petals of buttercups and moorland spotted orchids, with the barest hint of the scent of pilfered Christmas pastries. 2011 version On the skin: Definitely the smell of Christmas. I usually associate cinnamon with Christmas, but this one has a combination of cookie, slight florals, Christmas tree, and a slight spiciness that also makes me think of Christmas. I like this one as a scent, but it isn't something I would ever wear.
