I just couldn't bring myself to skin test this one. There is the very earthy vetiver note and not much else I can smell.
-
Huh.... Reading the notes, I am pretty sure I get along with all except for the caraway. Not really sure what it smells like normally, but I am pretty sure that it dominates the first stage of this scent. It is a bitter wood. Almost like.... rye bread!! Yep. That is definitely it. It doesn't change at all from application to dry down on my skin.

I couldn't put this one on my skin. Still feeling kind of sick to my stomach and this is the first one I have tested that has made me feel even more ill.... Quite bitter and smokey. Not for me.

Hello musky tangerines!! On me this is a very light scent, but it is absolutely wonderful!! This one is definitely a keeper! -ETA- Huh, sadly this doesn't smell as good as it used to on me. Instead, the tangerines fade quite quickly and the rest is just light and musky. It is still good, but I am afraid that it just isn't for me anymore.

A spicy woodsy scent! I am loving this! I can definitely pick out the cedar, but everything else just blends together so perfectly!! It is amazing! Kind of reminds me of Diable en Boite, but that was redwood instead of cedar. This is a manly blend in my opinion and I may just have to pick up a bottle for the SO!!

On the skin: This is quite faint like the Female... Instead of the vanilla leather sweetness of the Female, I am getting loads of clove on this one. It isn't bitter though! It is a soft clove (probably softened with the leather like in the Female), with a hint of patchouli and sandalwood. I am not getting any metal from this! It is pretty good! I think that one night I am going to have to attack the SO with this one while I wear the Female.... I know I have smelled something very similar to this one, but for the life of me, I have no idea what it was!! I have a feeling it was one of the most recent Yules....

On my skin: A sweet vanilla with a hint of something that I think must be leather. Instant love!! A very rich sweetness! It does not have a strong throw though... I am not getting any floral or moss. After a bit, the leather gets a bit more noticeable on me. This is a smoooooooth leather. But there is still a lot of vanilla to keep this blend sweet! This kind of reminds me of what Bow and Crown of Conquest smells like on the SO! Only BACC is a bit stronger. I am really liking this one!! This is sooooo good, but so faint! Well, I guess it has only been 24 hrs since I received my bottle, but I thought that was enough time for it to settle.

On my skin: Huh, I don't think this one smells so good on me. I would love to attack my SO with it though. At first it was kinda spicy, but on me all I can smell after a bit is a green, lime floral. Quite a change! I wonder which of the notes was making it smell so nice and spicy at the beginning...

A complex, voluptuous scent that captures the robust beauty and of the Italian Renaissance: lemon, red currant, wisteria, red rose petals, heady jasmine, Florentine orris root, waterlily, red sandalwood, violet plum, and violet leaf. This one seems like lime on my skin. Effervescent lime. After a bit I can really smell the florals. It isn't so bad, but it doesn't really wow me...

On the skin: Whoa! Eucalyptus? Pine? A very green scent!! A little of this one goes a long way. Not my thing at all.
-
On the skin: Whoa, that is some vetiver!! It fades after a bit and I am getting some of the frankincense. This one is very earthy. Definitely not one of my favorites... The vetiver just smells too smokey to me.

On the skin: I really love neroli! So sweet! Ouch! After a few minutes, the neroli is practically gone and I am left with a bitter red currant scent (with some of the huckleberry?). My skin just really hates red currant.... It either turns to cat pee, or extreme bitterness. *sigh*

On the skin: I am getting a nice green apple scent. It is also slightly floral but overall a very sweet scent. It is very pleasant!! It isn't really my thing, but it is a very nice scent.

Thanks for the quick responses all! Here are pictures of the bottles: The scent is Jack, one of my favorites. When I opened the 10ml, it didn't smell anything like the Jack that I am used to, so I compared the color... The pictures aren't lighted too well, but it is really easy to see the difference between the oil colors in the bottles. I wonder if one was part of a batch gone awry... Or maybe there was a component change? I don't know... -EDIT- I am still very happy with the bottle, but I am almost tempted to decant everything out of the 10ml and start filling it up with the darker oil that I know and love dearly... Decisions decisions...

Quick question!! Does anyone know/have an example of what the 10ml GC bottles/labels look like? I just received one from a purchase and I am not sure if it is quite right.... Also, the oil in the 10 ml bottle looks clear while the oil in my newer 5ml bottle is quite dark. Both bottles are the amber type, so it is easy to compare. I always thought that all the 10ml bottles were cobalt. Thanks!

This is definitely cake. Nothing but cake! It is very light on my skin though. Such a vanilla cake. After a bit it goes a bit plasticky on my skin. Nooooooo! Is that vanilla?? Hmmmmmmmm..... I need to try this again and get the SO's opinion. I really don't know what to think about this one myself. I wish it was a bit stronger. -EDIT- Okay, I keep getting the most AMAZING whiffs of vanilla. The best vanilla I have ever smelled. An amazing cakey vanilla that I just long to eat!! When I put my wrist up to my nose, though, I can barely smell anything. This scent just.... wafts. Okay, that does it. I need a bottle of this to scent my house/room. It smells soooooooooooo good!!

I can't remember what this one was like when I first purchased it... Anyways, I haven't tested it once since then. On my skin this is a very smokey scent now. Very smokey with a bit of ginger? On me it isn't green at all. After a bit, I can smell a bit of sweetness under the smoke. Don't really like smokey scents, so this one is going off to the swaps.

I am really starting to get the hang of identifying gardenia.... There is some smooth lily in here as well. Very very floral. I loved this one when I first started getting into BPAL, but now my tastes have shifted away from the pure florals. I just don't like it quite as much as I used to.
-
On my skin this smells very floral. Of course there is lily and I can't seem to pick out anything else. This is such a sweet lily scent. *sigh* After a bit this starts to smell kinda like sunscreen on my skin. Ah, well...
-
This one is all honey on my skin. At first it was quite plasticky, but now it has really smoothed out well. After a bit, I smell what can only be patchouli in addition to the honey. It is interesting, but I am not sure if it is really something I would wear. On me this scent has little throw. I think I might have to keep this imp around and try it again sometime.

On the skin: Pumpkin with cardamom and amber. For some odd reason this pumpkin scent makes me feel kinda sick. After a short bit the pumpkin fades and the spicy scent left doesn't appeal to me at all. Ah, well. I have found that Jack is a much better pumpkin scent on me than Pumpkin Queen. Yay!!
-
On the skin: This one is very floral and mandarine. It is very pretty. I am afraid that I just had to get rid of my bottle though because I just never felt in the mood to use it. Very fruity floral.
-
Well, dragon's blood normally goes incredibly floral on me, but I couldn't help but try this one. I mean.... a scent called Dragon Pecker? Hee hee!! On the skin: A pretty slight melon floralish wood scent. Not bad! After a bit, the melon fades and it is all wood and a hint of dirt. I don't normally like dirt scents, but this is actually kind of sweet.

I was just decanting and couldn't help but dab a little of this one on after decanting the vials. It just smelled so soft and comforting in the bottle! On my skin: I get mainly a nice soft sweet vanilla peach with a hint of tea and something slightly resiny that must be the myrrh. It is pretty good! So far this one hasn't really changed much from application to dry down. It is still nice, light, and very comforting!
-
On the skin: Definitely get a hint of vanilla. And the musks. And leaves? Interesting combo!! Very light on my skin and doesn't seem to last long. *sigh*
