wet: interesting. not sure what to make of this. smells like a light salty breeze. the florals are very light, but slowly making their presence known. i'm not a fan of aquatics and after 5 minutes, i think it's swallowing any remains of anything floral.

wet: strong sour florals. dry:light powdery sour florals. i think it's the rose/tuberose/jasmine combo that is creating the sour floral smell. his will have to be passed on.

i don't like the roses in this one as much as i like the roses in spellbound. i was disappointed the roses started to fade and the amber and musk were barely there.

review for 2006 & 2008 versions bottle: something dark and sexy on: OMG SEX IN A BOTTLE! seriously, the boy loves this on me. amber, patchouli, musk, and what i think is opoponax are leading the way and thankfully i can wear this without turning into that old lady band-aid smell with the patch/myrrh combo. even after 2 years, this has aged really well. opening the 2008 and compairing it to the 2006 version, they are exactly the same - i can tell that the 2008 version just needs some time to catch up to be as deep and dark and even more sexy as the 2006 version. thankfully its not so wildly different that if it hasn't sat around for 2 years, you can't wear it - it's just not marinated as well as 2006. i think this is my signature scent (along side rose red & moriarty)

very floral and sweet and gives me a headache. i think some one else can use this more than i.

wet/in imp: dragon's blood and something sharp that reminds me of the sharpness in pickled imp...it has to be the juniper. dry: i keep waiting for the cookie scent to start...but all i'm getting is bayberry, juniper and dragon's blood. it's ok, but i'm impatient and can't wait for the juniper to die down. this one too needs to be passed on.

i never thought they could bottle the smell of a greyhound bus. this totally reminds me of sitting in one for 8 hours with the scorge of america going some where for cheap... it smells like the bathroom only with a touch of stale perfume... maybe those pucks that they put in the bottom of the men's urinals. i think its the scent as a whole. it doesn't seem like snake oil would have this problem on it's own (i think, will have to test that with obtaining an imp). oh dear...now this vial is making me sneeze....[edit to add: fades away to something tolerable and light powdery, but still not worth a purchase]

wet/imp: baby powder, violets....mostly baby powder. not really my thing. i had such high hopes to like this one too. *sigh*

wet/imp: berries and iris. the berries reminded me of blood countess. iris is now giving me a headache. i was hoping the amber might amp a bit more, not really spicy either. pass

wet/in imp: lavender, tobacco and labdanum. dry: lavender and tobacco. very crisp and lavender smelling. i don't smell any of the other notes since lavender is over powering everything. i do get faint whiffs of tobacco, but again...lavender.

wet/in imp: apples and i think the honey is making it a bit sharp. honey either works on me or it doesn't and this is leaning towards the honey in honey mone. dry: still apples and sharp honey. ylang ylang and rose usually are a bad combo for me and turns into plastic band-aid stench. this is not a scent that loves me...and it's not forgiving. i think it should disappear now.

this is for the 2008 version: i liked this when i first sniffed it and thought it might get better or at least have more patchouli. after having it about 4 months, it just keeps smelling like guys cologne and i couldn't find the patchouli. i tried it again, and it just made me really sick. so i swapped it.

in imp: citrus. grapefruit mostly. i don't really like grapefruit and yuzu is just more grapefruit. yuzu makes good chu-hai's but thats about it. i think this needs a new home.

wet/in imp: lucious red wine with a hint of smoke. dry: sweet red wine, a touch of clove. i think the mimosa is adding the sweetness. hrm..this isn't bad. i kinda like it. i'm not sure i would want a bottle though. ah, after 10 minutes the clove peeks out. i wonder how this would age..if the red wine and mimosa would fade and if clove would dominate this. i keep sniffing myself. yum...clove and wine. i might need 1 bottle of this. mm...cloves. i'll tuck the imp away and re-test after 6 months to make sure it ages without rotting oranges.

in imp: sweet, berries, and more sickly sweet. cranberries and lime peeks through to add the tartness. i sniffed this and it gave me goosebumps and made my teeth hurt. it really smells like juice and i don't even want to try it on. i'd rather drink my cocktails. it does smell like a cosmo...however i like my cosmo's with grand marnier and not lime...it's much better. trust me

wet/in imp: fruit stripe gum. pears, plums, gardenias dominate. wow, this really reminds me of fruit stripe gum. dry: still pears and plums...not much else. oh wait, pomegranate is peeking out. i wasn't sure what to expect. i kepting thinking "the hanging gardens" by the cure and it would be dark and brooding with a swanky bass line. then i thought the hanging gardens in new orleans...nope...instead this turns into a happy fruit stripe gum scent. hrmfp. yup..still pears and things purple and red.

wet/in imp: cypress, pepper, musk, and something sweet. also, soda? dry: incense? where? usually i turn incense into band-aids. this one isn't bad..it still reminds me of soda. i can smell cypress only lightly and blood musk makes a small appearance. again, this isn't bad, but it's not grabbing me - it's light and after about 15 minutes i'm having troubles picking out any notes...they stopped jumping out at me. it seems the scent has more throw when it's just applied.

wet/in imp: sharp, herbal, medicine...something that should be vicks happens and um....ouch. it's sharp and herbal. no thanks.

wet/in imp: this reminds me of fenris wolf and mandrake. it has the dusty scent of mandrake. i believe it would be the woods i'm smelling right out of the gate. dry: the florals are starting to kick in and it's now floral woodsy scent. i don't pick up any of the mandarin or musk. i think this is something i might wear once just for a change of pace.

wet/in imp: smells like throat coat tea. very minty. i also get violets and more mint. this needs to belong to someone else. i am not a minty person. dry: still smells like minty throat coat.

wet/in imp: sweet almonds (yummmm) and orange peel. dry: after 5 minutes...the almond disappears and i can smell the orange peel, rose, sandalwood and yucky neroli. no cloves. no nutmeg. this one is an imp only item. it's too bad almond went away. wait for it..15 minutes later. orange bug spray. no..orange scented bug spray soap? maybe this needs to be given to someone who could wear it without turning into something yucky.

wet/in imp: cocoa, flowers, and patchouli. interesting. dry: cocoa and patchouli mixed with leather. interesting. the patchouli keeps wanting to do horribly wrong. the cocoa disappears after 10 minutes and i'm left with nose hurting florals, dirty hippie patchouli i don't like and leather.

wet/in imp: apples and mint dry: apples, lime, slight aquatic smelling and whiffs of iris. not for me.

wet/in imp: strawberries and orange blossom...makes my teeth hurt. odd. dry: very sweet smelling. it reminds me of strawberry cupcakes.i can also smell the carnation. thankfully this isn't overly sweet and over powering. the strawberry dominates the mix. not sure if i want to use this up or not. it's not bad, but as far as something so girlie, i think i prefer lolita - i can see my skin eating this up in 5 minutes. though i might just keep this for that one time when i'm in super lolita form in my bodyline dress and all. eta: i got a whiff of banana???? boooo

wet/in imp: this is interesting. i wasn't expecting it to smell sweet. i can't decide what it smells like...earthy, herbal, and dusty. oh! it's also starting to remind me of cheap store bought perfume. this is so not me.
