I smelled carnation (or was it tulip? I always mix them up. This is why LE Beltaine reminds me of Amsterdam). Normally I'm not a florals person, and this scent is extremely floral for me, but Beltaine goes great with my hippie summer persona. Thanks Beth!

I got nothing like the description. My Chimera imp smelled like... manna. Seriously, the stuff that fell from the sky in the Old Testament. They were honey cakes.

Strawberries and champagne, exactly. On my skin, the two are perfectly balanced. I used to tell the folks at Victoria's Secret, "I can't smell the champagne" in their Strawberries and Champagne. Now they need to add BPAL Bon Vivant to it.

Beautiful scent.. I've decided I officially love baked goods scents. This is definitely one that I'll have to let "age" for awhile. From other folks' aging-BPAL comments, GP gets more buttery and rich. I tried an imp but swapped it (with regrets). It was a little drier than I expected. Definitely will be aging my 5mL on the way.

Never tried real eggnog before. It's not in our cultural tradition. Eggnog smells JUST like Vanilla frosting. The kind that comes in a tin, with the white tennis tube cap, that people put out on tables for frost-your-own-cookie days at the university center. I am awaiting arrival of my 5mL from a swapper. Paired with Gingerbread Poppet, it gives me a gingerbread house

Hetairae was lovely with its honey notes until... .... something surfaced that resembled myrrh. Myrrh. The bane of my existence. Poor imp. ETA I'll find it a good home.

... A deep, rumbling scent, warm, soft and as cozy as a dog by a hearthfire, but with a fierce and feral soul: deep chocolate, deeper musks, with a dash of fig, bittersweet walnut, and the wild essences of juniper berry, cubeb and rum. CERBERUS IS MY HOLY GRAIL! I don't think I have suitable words for this. Cerberus is what I had been looking for in a scent, since I came across BPAL. O was nice, but Cerberus is the most amazing combination of sweet, spicy, and fresh that I'd ever smelled. The chocolate and bitter walnut is probably the best part. The only downside is that it does not last more than two or three hours. I placed an order for 2 bottles. Soon, as in... in a few months, I'll have to find a substitute. As if that's possible. Anais

Now that the Oblations are officially unavailable, has anyone found a similar scent for Cerberus? I tried Cerberus and found it to be my Holy Grail. Anais -
Hey Folks Can we could make a list of scents that "last longest", as in 6+ hours of typical wear? Or scents that stay FOREVER on your clothes until you launder them. This kind of information is scattered everywhere on the boards, and I'm afraid that looking them up would not be a standard way to compile this kind of data because lots of people double post this stuff. Basically what I'll do is compile all the scents and put (numbers) for duplicate entries, to see what.. statistically.. are the "best BPAL bang for your buck". Badly-written alliteration happens after 11 pm. In order to minimize usage of board space, please email me the names of your longest lasting scents. As many as there are. I can post results in this thread, after there is enough feedback blueangelflame {at} yahoo {dot} com Thanks -Anais

this scent! I wore it for awhile, feeling feral. It's not a "sharp" musk but a sweet one. Gave both Czernobog imps to Bear because it smells like the Adolfo he's been looking for. It's what he'll be wearing until the imps run out (Another reason to sniff him all the time) and then I'll be getting him more. Anais

I don't smell the leather either. From the bottle, I smell black cherry candies. It reminded me of a LUSH soap, although this particular LUSH soap was labeled as having "vanilla absolute". At drydown, the tobacco became more apparent and the sweetness of the cherry was less pronounced. Hearth layers really well with Samhain, and that's how I've been wearing it... one of my FAVORITE combinations. THANKS LAB! ::smooch:: Hug:: Anais

Yes!!! Mystery solved! Thank you Penance for reviving this thread.. I have been wondering why my old tarted O imps smell different than the new ones... turns out I'm supposed to let it AGE before it will smell as yummy as the tarted ones. I almost started a thread called "Old O vs. New O" to ask if the formulation was different. Thanks all! Anais

I smell bright green granny smith apples... no, not the apples... just the peel (Which is what I love about this scent, it's not necessarily "sweet" but if scent could have tannin then this a perfect example.) It doesn't last as long as I'd like, but it would make a great lotion bar additive. Which I just might do this weekend..

Honest to Gods it smells like carnation and ANJOU PEAR! Weird... I know.. that's what I smell the most of. It really does smell like a carnival! Bright, colorful, intoxicating, and bold. But I decided I shouldn't keep it if I didn't LOVE it more than someone else...At this point, my ex-imp is sitting in the hands of someone who ADORES it. Lucky little thing!

The milk and honey went down beautifully.... but then I smelled a very sharp and raspy note and it turned out to be ginger. It's wonderful had I discovered it before discovering O! I wish Sudha Segara would last a bit longer.. it's wonderful for a stay-at-home-while-it's-snowing day. Not quite orgasmic but it comes rather close.
