How do you apply your BPAL oils?

No kidding! One drop from a reducer cap on each wrist is enough?! My skin really absorbs it too.. because I do not have a cloud of scent following me around-- even though I kinda wish I did. During my period especially the scent is gone in like 1 hr. I reapply a few times through the day. Average amount for me to use at one go during morning application is probably 1/2 to 3/4 of an imp. Am I a bad person?? Better yet, I'm starting to wonder if I'm the same species as some of you delicate creatures who gingerly dot it on while it lasts for eons. Aging oils...that's a good one. One imp would do me for a day if I'm lucky. BPAL must love me.

A fellow slatherer! I just sit here with my eyes pinned at descriptions of these tiny applications.
  3. Seems that it also has to do with the amount I put on. If I reapply too much my skin burns. My problem is that I don't hold scent and do reapply a lot.

How do you apply your BPAL oils?

I'm an animal, I swear. First, I have a hard time holding scents as long as I would like. Some last longer then others, of course. But I slater it on compared to what most of you are saying. Which also makes me go through bottles far quicker then most.
  5. It's all about individual body chemistry, isn't it? Anyway, one that can give me a problem is JAILBAIT. Stings if I rub it into my neck at all. Is there cinnamon in it, because that's all I smell as it wears on.

    The Candy Butcher 2006

This is the one oil I have reordered the most. I adore it. I am a chocoholic, that that enters into it. But it just suits me and when I run out, I mourn for it. Warm, taffy, nutty choccie...and it lingers.

    Jailbait

For me it's simply a lolita bubblegum/lollipop note that goes in a flash and you're left with cinnamon. No perfume, no florals...just cinnamon. I like it, though I would actually like the top notes to last longer as I love sweet scents.

How long do bottles & imps last?

Don't ask me how long they last. I use them quickly for I have a problem with my body chemistry holding the scent. I did notice they usually last longer if I really rub them into my skin so that they penetrate deeply.

    Eat Me

I have re-ordered this twice now, I like it that much. Buttery, warming and enveloping. I have a problem holding onto a lot of the BPAL oils, but this one lasts well on me. It's just a cheering, comforting scent that transports me.

    Shattered

A scent as sharp as glass shards, and as brittle as a broken heart. The formula came to me - quite literally - in a dream, and is named after, and created in memory of, the last poem that I ever wrote… almost ten years ago to the day. A blend of white champagne notes, grapefruit, lotus, slivered mint and crystalline aquatic blooms. I always massage the BPAL oils into my neck as the more my skin absorbs the scent, the longer it lasts. After a few minutes I felt a strong tingling sensation with this one which worsened. Felt akin to having Vicks Vapo rub on you and it freaked me out. Took almost ten minutes for it to subside. I am assuming it was the mint? Never again!

    Jailbait

The Lolita lollipop is gone in a minute for me. which frustrated me because I was really having fun with it. Followed quickly by a really spicy note, which settled down to a complex and lovely incense layer. Main problem for me, it has no holding power. But I do have that problem generally with my body chemistry. Cockaine, The Candy Butcher, Eat Me and Drink Me are some of the few that last on me. This one turned into a pretty memory quickly. ADDED Sept. 14: OK....bubble gum which I love. But blink and that's gone. All I am left with is cinnamon candy, nothing more. Still, it's a lovely thing and I enjoy it. Makes me feel carefree somehow.

    Cockaigne

On my second reorder now. It's more gingerbready to me, then anything. AND it's one of the longest lasting scents I've come across here. I could never wear this on a very hot day, as it's too warming. But a highly comforting scent and one I've returned to and like to keep on hand.

    O

O proved a great disappointment. Though a delightful and complex blend, it faded so quickly I was sort of shocked. I thought I hadn't put on enough, so I kept reapplying but the stuff was simply spun of air. I even thought, as I read the other reviews, that maybe somehow this batch I got was not mixed properly? I just get frustrated with this one as it's an exercise in futility to try to hold onto it.

    Drink Me

Drink Me has become a favorite. One of my problems is lasting power, and Drink Me works well with my body chemistry. It's quite warm and buttery with a lasting cherry element. The effect it has on me is cheering and enveloping. I choose to wear it when I might be feeling down, for it has an encouraging effect. And it's one that does bring to mind perfectly the idea behind it's creation.

    Eat Me

It's a wondrously transporting scent that I find comforting and warming. For me the strongest note seems to be almost cinnamon like which probably is the currant. All wrapped in a buttery coating. I like this one when I want to feel cozy and secure. It's a perfect scent for the winter months and I can't see this one in hot weather as it has such a warming effect. It does have something of an incensey feel to it overall which is perfect for contemplating Alice's adventures.
