Strong bitter almond and cinnamon! Yum! Not sure how this will work on my skin, but it's a wonderful scent in the imp. I love almond! Mmm, yes, on my skin it smells almost the same. Bitter almond and cinnamon. I love it! Going to let this sit though and see how it settles/last. The cinnamon does fade and I lose kind of the freshness and sharpness of the scent as it dries, but the soft, slightly powdery almond left behind is still quite nice. I can see myself grabbing a bottle of this one day and would definitely recommend it to someone looking for a good, not overly-sweet almond scent.

I am very excited to try this one. I am a big fan of Beth's asian blends, and I am in LOVE with all of the lab's plum notes. In the imp this is delicious! Juicy sweet plum and lots of florals. The jasmine is definitely noticeable, which is fine with me because I enjoy jasmine in moderation. Mmm, yes, this is wonderful! The plum and jasmine are by far the strongest notes. I would recommend those that don't like jasmine to steer clear of this blend, but I am totally digging it in combo with the plum note. The white musk is also noticeable and really helps round this blend out. The blend does lose a bit of its punch as it dries. The plum fades faster than the jasmine, so it gets a bit jasmine strong. Overall thought, this is a very nice-if the notes sound up your alley and you like Beth's asian blends, I would absolutely recommend this blend. I can definitely see myself picking up a bottle of this someday.

Whoa resintacular O_o Very dark and resiny. Lots and lots of smoke >_O Woody too, at least to my nose. This kinda smells like burning wood to me. Not fresh wood though, like, really really black charred wood. Full drydown is dark incense and wood and lots of smoke. Not my cuppa.

I am very excited to try this blend. Vanilla is one of my favorite notes, and I am always happy to add more vanilla blends to my collection. Along with that, I ADORE sweet pea, and don't think there are enough blends that have it. Amber can be kinda hit and miss with me, but the sandalwood is the note here that leaves me a bit worried, since I am a wood amper like whoa. In the imp this is a light vanilla/sandalwood blend. Pleasant, but not overly exciting. I hope I get more sweet pea when this is on my skin. On my skin, this is a very powdery vanilla, with undertones of sandalwood and sweet pea. Very nice. A bit too powdery, but I'm going to give this some more time to dry. Good god, yeah this turns into TOTAL powder on me. Darn! Sweet powder and sandalwood. Meh. Really really powdery. I blame the amber on that. Powder powder powder

This was a lab frimp. I never would have picked it for me based on the notes (though Iago IS a fascinating character!) Vetiver is my mortal enemy, but I have to try every bpal EVAH, so I will give this one a go. Urf, in the imp, this is a vetiver SMACK IN DA FACE. Really strong vetiver and a bit of black musk underneath. Don't really get any leather from it yet. Ugh, yeah, total vetiver-y yuck on my skin. It's all I smell. I don't even like leather and I wish I was smelling leather here instead of all that dark vetiver. Honestly, it is just unbearable to me and I have to wash it off. If you don't enjoy vetiver-STEER CLEAR!

In the imp this is mostly tobacco and leather on me, kind of wafting through the date palm. I'm not really a fan of tobacco or leather, so I'm hoping I get more date palm as this dries, and less of the leather and tobacco. The combo of those just always reminds me of an ashtray Hmmm...yeah on my skin so far this is total ashtray. Kind of like how my hair and clothes used to smell after I was in a club that allowed smoking. Blech. I also get a bit of a pencil shavings feel from this-moreso as it dries. All in all, this was a totally meh tobacco/leather scent on me. Will definitely go into the swaps pile

In the bottle this is sweet honeyed milk and lots of lavender. A little too lavender heavy, but I'm hoping it will calm down a bit on my skin so that I can more of those other notes. Thankfully, this doesn't smell sour or sickly, and hopefully that trend will continue when the blend is on my skin. Hmm...this is interesting on the skin...at first I got a blast of the honeyed milk, but it seems to be losing hold over the sage and frankincense. *SO* much sage. Damn, seriously this is way sage overload on me. Yeah, this was not what I expected at all-I wanted a sweet, powdery, milk blend and got a total sage blend. I won't be keeping this bottle.

I remember sniffing this at will call and being a bit overwhelmed by the lavender. Thankfully, while sniffing my new bottle at home now when my poor nose isn't overloaded I can tell that this blend is far more complex! The lavender is still there, along with sweet sugared tea and a hint of vanilla. I don't really get any snake oil in the bottle, but I remember from testing snake pits that SO tends to hide from my nose until it is on my skin. This is SO much better on the skin than in the bottle. The lavender really does calm down and the sweet, creamy tea scent becomes dominant with hints of soft flowers. This is absolutely lovely. The snake oil slowly creeps out and darkens the blend, but not overwhelmingly so. The fennel really pops out as it continues to dry. This blend has many phases. Overall, this blend is definitely a keeper. On complete dry down, it is harder to distinguish between the different notes, they all mesh so well. The result is soft and sweet and comforting.

I thought it was very appropriate to test out this blend on Talk Like a Pirate Day (ARRRRRRR!!!!!) On bummer is, I doubt I will like this blend because aquatics tend to hate me and the other pirate scents I've tried (Anne Bonny and Calico Jack) were both terrible on my skin. Guh, in the imp this is super salty aquatics. Salty sea air blasting me in the face >_< This is the first time I'm hoping the patchouli comes out MORE on my skin, to hopefully balance out that sharp aquatic note. Urgh, yeah, same on my skin, there is this sharp salty aquatic note that is just ruining it for me, which is too bad because underneath that I can tell that the mix of sarsaparilla, rum and musk would be quite nice! From far away this smells really good, but that one darn note goes so weird on my skin. As it dries, it becomes a soapy kind of smell. Yes, this dries down to an odd, sharp, soapy aquatic. Not for me!

I ADORE bpal asian inspired blends (Spell of Amorous Love/Budding Moon/Hanami are all amongst my faves) so I am very excited to dry this blend. There can never be enough cherry blossom blends! Hmmm. Interesting in the imp. Not grabbing me as much as I'd hoped. It's a little too sweet, but I think it might settle nicely on the skin. And damn, I do love me some cherry blossom. Hmmm, yes, this is nice. Kind of like a lilac-y, more woody Hanami. But...not as good. I can definitely see why tree is in the title-the sandalwood really comes out on when this is on the skin. I dunno, this just isn't doing it for me. I think it's maybe the honey that is making this just a little sickly sweet. Overall, this definitely is a very nice blend. Complex for sure-a sweet, woody, asian floral. I don't think I would pick a bottle of this up anytime soon, (I can never see myself reaching for it over Hanami), but if I ever ran out of Hanami (GASP) I could see grabbing for this.

Ooo-in the imp this is lovely! A sweet golden candied floral! Very nice! Mmmm, dang, this is delicious! Like fresh sweet golden sap with a bit of bright green stem-iness. Sundew really does seem the perfect descriptor of this. This dries down very nicely. I hate to keep using the same adjectives, but I don't feel there is any better way to describe this. Golden sweet sticky sap and fresh green stems. I'm not falling all over myself to get a bottle of this right now, but I can see it being a purchase one day in the future, especially the next time spring/summer rolls around.

Strong, dark, herbally orchid in the imp. Like a way less yummy, way darker version of Lune Noire. Same on my skin. This is Lune Noire's evil twin, without any of those sweet notes that LN had that made me fall in love. This is not bad, kinda dark and sexy, but not something I would wear. A little too heavy on the incense for me. Also, goes a bit powdery as it dries down.

In the imp this is BAM PATCHOULI. Getting a little myrrh and musk, but no ylang ylang. It's rare for me to find a patchouli that works on me (I <3 Clemence), and unless the patchouli can take a backseat on my skin, I don't think this is gonna be one of the times it works for me. On my skin...yeah...patchouli. *le sigh* Way too dirty hippy to be sexy on me! I am gonna let this sit for a bit, but I don't think it's gonna work. After dry down, this was still almost straight patchouli on me. Not what I was hoping for at all.

Oh man, I love bpal cake scents, I was practically drooling just reading the description. Of course, I fell in love with this at first sniff while I was at Will Call. In the bottle, this is yummy orange glazed pound cake. Omnomnomnom!!! It's just as good on the skin-kind of creamsicle-esque, but richer and more cakey. If you are worried about the "celebratory funeral flowers" don't be-not noticeable at all. Just rich, delicious, custardy cake, sweet and tart orangey glaze (I can just picture how it looks and tastes in my head), and just the teensiest bit of the anise. LOVE THIS.

Hmm...this does NOT sound like a scent for me. It was a lab frimp, and a blend I never would have given a second glance. I don't like tobacco or leather scents, but I have to give everything a try! In the imp I get a lot of dark musk and leather. It's not as smoky as I had expected, which is a good thing, because sometimes leather and tobacco smell like stale ashtray to me, and I am not getting that while sniffing this blend. Out of all the leather blends I've tried, this is probably one of the most enjoyable ones. Not ashtray-ish at all. There's some note in here that really cutes the leather/smoke/incense, and softens it up a bit. Still, i would call this a masculine scent, but not as dirty or dark as I had expected. More refined and dignified. This dries down very nicely. It is a pleasant tobacco/leather/musk scent-not my thing, but I would recommend it to those who find the description intriguing.

I bought the L'Inverno pack because I fell deeply in love with the perfume oil at will call. When I got the set, I remember taking one sniff of this straight from the bottle, and not being impressed, but it was so hard to tell because the room sprays are so condensed in the bottle. I have now given this sufficient time to settle and am going to see if it transports me to a winter wonderland! Hmm...this is not bad. It definitely feels cool and brings to mind winter and snow...I definitely get the pine boughs and cedar, but there is something sour to this that kind of throws off the blend for me. I think it may be the darn honeysuckle. Honeysuckle and I just don't get along! But I am going to let this sit for a bit...I actually think it is starting to grow on me.. It's kind of funny, the air conditioning in our house happens to be broken right now, so the cooling effect on the air is nice....but honestly, this scent just isn't for me. I hate the snow And I'm not a huge fan of pine or honeysuckle-just a bit too sharp for my tastes. So I will be swapping this along to see if I can get one of those other Inquisition sprays I should also note that the throw on this is very strong and they are not lying when they say a little goes a long way!

In the imp this is a very astringent-y floral. Not terrible, but a bit sour. There are peach undertones to this that sweeten it up. Ughhh, ok this has something in it that is just DOOM on my skin-total rubber tire smell. It may be honeysuckle...a weird rubber smell under a synthetic peachy floral smell. Gah...gonna give this some time to settle. Nope, this is definitely stinky on me. Too stinky to wear even if it did cheer me up or bring me luck. Not sure exactly what notes are failing on me, but it's just kind of a mess. Will pass this on to someone who can hopefully make better use of it! ETA: I am going to leave this on for a bit and see if anything good happens or my mood lifts. Right now I am just sleepy and want to take a nap instead of studying *le sigh* Will update if there is a change! ETA: Hours later and still no change in mood. Newp, this blend totally did not work for me!

I love this character. I'm not sure I'm gonna love this blend. I'm very meh on lilac and not a fan of cedar. Gah, do NOT like this in the imp at all. Green tea is hit or miss to my nose, and this is SUPER miss. Smells kind of like wood and sour white florals. On my skin, I get pencil shavings. TOTAL pencil. Hamster bedding. No good! I do get peeks of the green tea and the florals, but this is wood chips ahoy. Pass!

Ok, I generally do not have good luck with snake oil blends. I know I'm a bad bpaler, but I'm not really a fan of snake oil. I always feel like snake oil is missing something. That is why I find the snake pit so appealing. I'm hoping one of these blends is going to fill in that missing link. I LOVE cinnamon and ginger, so maybe this is the one! In the imp this is strong snake oil, cinnamon (yum) and woods (meh). I'm hoping the woodiness doesn't amp too much and that some of the ginger comes out on my skin. Whoa, very cinnamony on my skin! Kind of like, erm, Inferno I think it was...that kind of spicy cinnamon. Hm, something about the way the wood and the cinnamon mix almost makes this a cola-ish fizzy scent. Interesting. Ok, as it dries I definitely lose that cola-ish scent. Now it is very clearly a combo of snake oil, woods and cinnamon. But they don't really mesh well on me. The scent feels very disjointed and piece-y. The cinnamon is too sweet, the wood is too woodsy, and the snake oil doesn't tie them together. An interesting blend, but nope, this isn't gonna be the one for me.

I am honestly not sure what to expect with this blend...nutmeg and sassafras sound wonderful, but I have no idea how they will go with the black poppy and myrrh. I have a feeling this may be too dark of a scent for me, but I'm looking forward to giving it a go! Oof, ack, this smells really weird in the imp...sour and medicinal. Almost like sweetened rubbing alcohol >_O I really hope this morphs on my skin! Ugh, yeah, this is no good on me. I think it's the black poppy. It is WAY too strong. I don't get any nutmeg in this at all. And while I normally like sassafras, I am not digging it in combo with the myrrh and poppy. I do have to mention though, that this does smell ten MILLION times better on my skin than it did in the imp. Unfortunately, this combo is just too odd for me O_o Will be passing it on to someone with more exciting taste than me! ETA: On full dry down this is VERY strong and VERY dark/incense-y.

I haven't heard that much buzz around this scent, but based on the scent description, it totally sounds up my alley. I love spicy cinnamon scents, I love honey, and I especially love ginger. On paper, it sounds perfect! In the imp, this is a very strong blast of cinnamon. Like a very very spicy, creamy chai! Yum!!! On my skin-SPICY cinnamon. Probably the spiciest cinnamon blend (spicier than Inferno even!) The throw isn't as strong as I suspected, but I actually think that's a good thing, because it keeps this blend from being overwhelmingly potent. The skin musk really helps ground this blend. As it dries, it kind of loses the spicy chai edge, and becomes a more earthy and mellow cinnamon bark scent. This is an excellent blend, and one of those times where I am so grateful that I am not sensitive to cinnamon/spicy scents. I'm not rushing out to by a bottle of this omgritenao, but it has been added to the wishlist!

Hmm. This was a frimp. I wouldn't have picked it out for myself, because I'm pretty meh about lilies. This smells pleasant enough in the imp. Light, sweet, lilies. Nothing great and nothing terrible-so far I am pretty neutral. Smells the same on my skin-almost no morphing. Yep, this has sat for a while now. If you are a fan of lilies, I would recommend trying this blend, but I'm I don't particularly like lilies and there was nothing special in this blend to make me change my tune.

I am very excited to try this blend-I'm hoping for sweet fruity floral goodness and I am always excited to see a pear blend! In the imp, this is white flowers and sweet sweet pear! Very lovely, especially as a spring/summer scent. The only thing I worry about is that it may go too powdery on my skin. Mmm, on my skin-so far so good! This is lovely! Sweet juicy pear tempered by the white florals, with a bubbly hint of champagne. Sometimes white florals go sour on my, but the pear really keeps this sweet and out of old-lady territory. There is only one glaring problem with this blend. Within a half hour it was completely gone. Not faint or light...gone. Not even a trace! No staying power at all! Too bad, twas nice while it lasted, but I wouldn't pick up a bottle of this blend.

I have been kicking myself for almost a year for not buying this when I had a chance. I'm so excited to have this imp now to test, to see if I need to track a bottle down or if I can live without it...based off the description it sounds like heaven to me! Sniffing it in the imp...it pretty much is SPOT ON to the lab's note description *swoon* Hopefully it will stay as delicious on my skin!!! Mmmm, yes, this is SO delicious! Rich cocoa infused with coffee and cinnamon! Oh god, this is SO good. I want to gnaw my arm off! What a perfect chocolate/coffee blend! I am going to pray that his is resurrected with the Yules this year. If not, I will NEED to find a bottle of this!

I am very much looking forward to trying this blend. I am a big lavender fan, but have found bpal lavender blends hit or miss. I was actually wearing my beloved Yvaine earlier today, which is the blend by which I judge all other lavender blends This is a very strong herbal lavender in the imp...not as smooth as I would have hoped. I'm not sure I'm diggin the combo of lavender and lotus. I could definitely sniff the spice in there-curious to see how strongly that will come out on my skin. Ack, yeah, on my skin the lotus gives this a strong sour note. Yuck! Very very sour and funky. Don't like this at all. After letting this settle in hopes the lotus would chill out, it is gone! Completely disappeared! I guess I should be thankful it had no staying power because I was not a fan of this blend at all. I'll stick with my Yvaine!!!
