Vicious pine and eucalyptus. It smells fiery and mean. 1.5/5 Not my kind of thing at all.

Oils with the strongest throw or sillage - the most noticeable scents

We call this property of being able to be smelled far away, 'throw'. If you click here there is a discussion of which oils have the most throw, which you might find helpful. -
Wet - Lovely sugary fruity sweets. Reminds me of the pear, peach and grape fruit juice that I drink. Dry - A very sweet slightly mossy slightly musky slightly grassy pale green smell. Might be a bit too sweet for a lot of people though but I think it's alright. Unfortunately though, I wore it one day to college and a couple of people said something "smelt funny" and I think they might have been smelling Titania so I don't think I'll wear it again. 3.5/5 I prefer the wet stage to the dry stage.

Sweet and slightly sharp. There's something that smells like trees and grass in the spring (but, mercifully, without being woody) and the apricot really tops off the blend. 4/5 Yummy apricots. I might need a bottle eventually.

Nice, light perfumey but not perfect. It's all maybe a little too 'high' and I was hoping the musk would ground it more but it doesn't. 3.5/5 I'm still keeping the imp though. I might try layering it with something.

I was kind of expecting flowers and vanilla I guess but what I get is something that smells confusing to my nose. It took me a while to work out what it is that it reminded me of. Toothpaste. Not the minty kind but like a sweet trying to be vanilla but not really vanilla toothpaste. 3/5 It wasn't unpleasant but I just found it weird because it really kept reminding me of toothpaste everytime I smelt it.

It's funny, I don't get berries, grass or flowers with this. I get a kind of vaguely similar to ginger but not ginger. It's more like rolling around in a field of ginger and lemongrass or something. I can't quite work out what the smell is but it's not what I was expecting at all. 3/5 I just find this one confusing.

Nice aquaticy floral. I feel like it needs a bit more kick or something though. Doesn't smell very strongly on me unfortunately. 3/5 Off to the swap pile.

Floral and a bit Crabtree and Evelyn-y and slightly watery. 3/5 Alright but off to the swap pile.

The rose has gone funny on me again. I like rose smells but most of BPAL's blends with rose don't work for me. This is no exception. I know there's other stuff in here but I can mostly smell the rose. 2/5 Not for me.

Very sweet and sugary with a dash of pepper. It really reminds me of Diary of a Lovestruck Teenage Cannibal but slightly less foody. 3/5 It's OK but a bit too sweet for me.

Orange-glazed cake, dotted with anise seed, and filled with custard, set beside a bouquet of celebratory funeral flowers. Why am I getting mint from this? Reminds me at first of a orange version of Beaverversary but then goes kind of mild orange with a hint of toothpaste. 3/5 I just find this one slightly strange.

This is a nice very sweet syrupy smell. I think I was expecting a sort of light crisp pear and sweet vanilla but this is more like pears baked in sugar. 4/5 It's pretty nice but maybe a bit too sweet.

This smells like the Lush shop. Not anything in particular, just the shop in general, with all the smells mixed together. 3/5 Not bad but I don't think I'll wear it.
-
Reasonably pleasant but lemon always makes it smell of cleaning products. There's a sort of mixture of different smells underneath but the lemon's taken over unfortunately. 2.5/5 Not my type of thing.

Soapy florals and a bit of grass. It's not bad but it's a little bit soapy and there's nothing to really ground it. I can kind of detect the aquatic note but for me I think it just makes it slightly soapy. 3/5 Meh

A rich, bold blend of imperial rose, carnation, lush jasmine, lily of the valley, dark musk, amber, bergamot and gilded tangerine. Nice and pleasant. Reminds me an awful lot of Nyx but not quite as deep. 3/5 Just not really my thing though.
-
Warm, deep red scent. Nice but not as fruity as I'd imagined. I get a touch of cherry but not really any strawberries or vanilla. It's quite a bit darker and deeper than I'd imagined. A lot like Kabuki but with less cherry and more musk. 3.5/5 A bit too dark and heavy for me.

This smells a bit like some kind of face scrub to me rather than a pefume. It's quite strong and different from anything else I've tried so far. 2.5/5 Just not my type of thing ultimately.
-
Pleasant floral but somewhat underwhelming. The ginger isn't particularly strong and doesn't ground it as much as I thought it would. 2.5/5 Fine but nothing special.

This didn't really smell of much at all to me. I could smell the thyme and mint slightly to begin with and something else but it seemed rather weak and watery on my skin. But whatever smell there was faded after about 5 minutes. 2.5/5 Too faint and faded too fast.
-
It's got that same damp blooms note from Pele I think but also with a hint of woodiness and aquatics. None of the notes are really working for me though unfortunately. 2.5/5 Whilst it's not your average floral, it's just not my cup of tea.

Resurrected 2008 Interesting and very musky. If this was a colour it would be a very deep red. The coconut's not overpowering which is a good thing. But ultimately it's a bit heavy and not really me. I'd rather smell girly than sexy. 2.5/5 I'm quite glad I don't love it though as it's so hard to find.

Mistletoe 2005 I smell like a car air-freshener. It's not an unpleasant smell in and of itself; in fact I quite like the smell of pine as it reminds me of Christmas (which is my favourite time of the year). 2.5/5 I don't think I really want to smell like a Christmas tree to be honest.

I really like the grapefruit and this is very fresh and bright but also very soapy on me. It actually quite reminds me of the Body Shop's ginger anti-dandruff shampoo that I used to use a few years ago. 2.5/5 It's not horrible but there's a definite soap note that's killing it for me.
