Hmm.. in the vial I seem to be getting white mint, eucalyptus, and licorice.. As it dries down on me.. lime? Strange.. Sadly, the florals really come out and that's not a great thing for me.. they morph into something awful here.. some freakish baby powder, sour milk, licorice mixture. Blah..

Wow.. this is a really thick oil.. In the imp, it's mostly chocolate. Sadly on my skin it dries down into this odd plastic chocolate scent. (Chocolate and I don't always get along..) Meh, not working for me..
-
From the vial it's all banana cream pie. Pretty much the same on my skin! It's banana cream pie, for me what seems like a graham cracker crust comes through very nicely. Sweet and foody - it's not too sweet, though.. perhaps one of the other elements grounding it a bit? Really nicely done scent.

CCCXCV A light, sweet floral in the bottle. On my skin it's a sugary floral. I can't really pick out any of the notes.. it's sweet, but not in an overly candy way. Perhaps a bit fruity? Random florals.. yeah.. Better than I make it sound.

From the vial I get a feeling of summer nights with hints of incense. Wet on my skin it ends up smelling a bit like bug spray, but as it dries down that fades a bit. This is all ozone and incense on me, and I'm loving it. It really does remind me of a late night summer storm. The blend reminds me a bit of Thunder Moon, but with an incense background. This is definitely bottle worthy, in my opinion.

Snake Oil Help! Layering it, Snake Pit scents, blends with Snake Oil
ShadowsDance replied to spaceprostitute's topic in Recommendations
I'm the other way around, myself. Snake Oil is just kinda "meh" on my skin, but the snake pit is like heaven for me. I actually think Asp Viper could have become my number one I need 5000 bottles of this scent - if it weren't for the fact that my skin totally ate the scent in five minutes! (And, it just doesn't work for me in a locket..) As it is both Temple Viper and Boomslang very easily worked themselves into my top 13. I can't comment on the others, but you don't have to worry about either of these being cloying (well, unless your skin does something odd to them, there's always that ). Boomslang is a nice cocoa, but it's not over-sweet, and not super foody. My only problem with it is that I have very light skin, and the oil is super thick and dark, and it stains my skin a bit. :/ It's still one of my all time favorites, however. King Cobra is pretty awesome too, though. It's like.. an extra incensey snake oil. Uhh.. buffed up snake oil? It's a harder one to describe, heh. -
Strangely, it's a little floral in the vial, with a somewhat sweet fruit and soap.. On me it smells like soapy pomegranate.. meh..
-
In the vial: Gardenia, peach, and something sour.. Wet: Peaches! With a floral background. Dry: Soapy peaches.
-
Hmm.. sweet, a little spicy, and definitely rum in the vial. On me, it's butterscotch and sugar cookies. After the dry down, it's just spicy sugar cookies. I don't get any boozy note..

From the imp I smell sarsaparilla, almond milk, and just a hint of tobacco. On my skin it's almost the same as in the imp. The almond milk fades a bit, but is still there. I don't get much, if any, patchouli from this blend and only a bare hint of pine. The sarsaparilla is very much the primary note in this blend on me, and it's pretty interesting. I really love this, but it's hard to describe it well. It is very unlike any of the other scents I really enjoy, so it is hard to say why exactly I like it.. but this is definitely going on the big bottle list next order.

Very minty. Like a candy cane, or mint gum. Nothing much more to say, it's a very "simple" scent that reminds me very much of candy canes.
-
Slightly fruity, with a sour note to it in the imp. On my skin it smells.. almost floral. Very perfumey, generic, with a hint of.. bathroom cleaner. Ugh, not for me.
-
Creamy pumpkin from the vial. Hmm.. pumpkin and caramel. Definitely getting a creamy feel from the white chocolate, and of course, the cream. Not really any pomegranate that I can smell. No wait, there it is, just a hint of it after it's on for a bit. Very foody, and very nice.

Sweet and a little perfumey in the vial. Strangely this is a bit floral on me. I can smell the sugars as well, but they quickly become burnt plastic.. ick.

So first, I must confess the only reason I originally signed up for this in a decant circle is because I love this macro.. Don't worry, it's SFW That said! In the imp.. odd, this feels more like a summer scent. Kind of like bug spray..? Wet on my skin I can smell the balsam, and it is a bit smoky. It dries down to be about the same, wood and smoke. It's like a campfire in the woods. It's okay.. Don't know that I'll wear it often, but I think it will go in my imp box..
-
Hmm.. not getting much from the imp.. rum, maybe? After applying it almost immediately turns into play-doh. It doesn't change after that. Sad, because I loooove me some egg nog.
-
Hmm.. smells a little bit like egg nog in the imp.. must be the spices? Wet on my skin it smells more like cookie dough, or vanilla cake batter. It becomes a little faint on me, and while it's an okay scent, I'm not in love with it.

In the bottle: It smells like a can of chocolate frosting. This dries down into a more powdery scent.. Almost a bit plasticy. After a bit, I really feel it smells quite plasticy and fake.. but my fiance a few feet away randomly says it smells good.. so.. I'll probably keep it just because of that! (I might try it in my scent locket, see if that works for us both better.)
-
Strange smelling roses, somewhat fake, in the vial. Ick, smells like rotting on my skin. Ugh, no thanks, you go to swaps.
-
Oh man, almond extract in the vial. Wet it's the the spices of snake oil with almond, delicious.. As it dies down the almond smells a bit less like extract, and a bit more like ground almonds. This is really delicious.. almond meal with a faint hint of those spices. Really a nice scent.. actually, reminds me of what I thought Queen of Sheba would be like. Ugh, sad to say, it seems my skin absorbs almond.. because, it's gone. Lasts about 20 mins, then nothing.. I really love it though, so scent locket maybe? Or frequent slathering and reapplying.. I could live with that!
-
Yep, that's musk in that imp! With.. something that reminds me a bit of wine. Hmm.. musky, a bit spicy, and there is a sweetness about it. I didn't expect to like this, but it's really nice.. maybe not bottle worthy, but the imp is a keeper.
-
Hmm.. grass? Grass and.. chemicals. Not that great, and then toss in some soap.. This isn't working at all.
-
I swear I've reviewed this before, but it seems not.. I remember saying "it smells like the dentist's office." That's it, really.. it smells a little of apples, and a lot of dentist office. (Minty pine..?) While not a bad smell, not really something I want to smell like..
-
Hmm.. carrot? Definitely something like grains. After about 15 minutes it gets really powdery on my skin though.. strange, none of these are usual danger notes.. ah well.
-
Hmm.. I don't get much pumpkin from this, just a little. It's fruity, with a bit of frankincense. Something in here is reminding me of wine.. It's nice, but not really for me.
