Baku, soothing lavender lovliness. It's the most lavender BPAL I've tried to date. I love lavender too

OKay, this one is a morpher. it begins as apples and amber, very soft. In comes the myrtle and makes it almost medicinal for a few minutes and then slides in the carnation to bring it round to a spicy amber. The medicinal aspect rears up occasionally over the wearing time but it is brief and then returns to amber and spices with a brief flash of apple blossom. Very true to it's description, very soft and sexy, warm without being too sweet. As it dries down it reminds me a bit of snake oit as the amber carnation blend becomes akin to sugared vanilla and spices. This is a good thing for me because I LOVE the drydown of snake oil but the vanilla stage of it goes playdoh on me

A lightly vanilla floral where the jasmine is barely present and the other flowers dance nicely with each other. It is soft and fresh and feminine and SOOO not me It's a fabulous girly scent, but I'm not about girly. This vaguely reminds me of dove soap if dove added vanilla. I'm a bold in your face hot house floral girl, or spice and heat. This one is neither and was an impulse buy Off to swaps!

Ah YUMMY! I want to lick my arm where this was applied!! It is warm and sweet and creamy delight! It actually reminds me of milk moon a bit and I adore them both. I think I might have to oder another bottle before sept 1 !! Oh, and since I applied them too close, it is just fabulous with velvet Sweet buttery chocolate

I wanted to love this one. I love amber and I love many roses, but this is NOT a rose i can love. The rose is bright and the amber and musk go powdery rather than warm the rose so I end up with bright fake rose and old lady powder. So sad

starts out wet sticky cherry, which I DO NOT like. rapidly fades off to a wonderful haze of warmth swetness and spices that I adore though It's a languid red scent that I ,ike very much after I get past the cherries.

Aww, yuck Yuck Yuck I thought this would be similar to bloodlust It is not, jasmine and rose geranium and I really don't even smell the dragon's blood. bleh, floral and powdery .

girly, sweet and warm, this reminds me of a couple of other lab florals, pele and desmonda if they met and became friends . I like it alot, it's not crisp or dry, but rather soft florals supported by sweetness and warmth. I cannot detect any of the individual notes at all from wet to drydown and usually I can. Upon drydown i do detect the same light musk from dorian, or at least I think I do Very very nice, but I must remind myself not to sniff florals while testing other scents. I have voodoo on one arm and peitho on the other, both are fabulous in their own right but voodoo makes for sexy and well, it makes peitho seem so... mmmm.... tame

can you say ricola? I hated this upon application, but waited it out, from wet, to dry, this one morphs tremendously! Wet it was an herbal ricola cough drop, fine for the purpose but NEVER what I seek to smell like... After it dried oh my, a warm spicy party in the deep dark woods mellowing more it gets warm and spicy, very nice, very very sexy I thankfully never got the almond from it, just pine and clove and some sort of light musk to sweeten the blend. ( or maybe it was the vanillla, but it's not heavy in any case). This blend reminds me of The world, silk road, wolf's heart for a reference point. It is also a bit like bloodlust if there was no blood in it, but not quite as spicy. I'm loving beth's spicy blends, especially spicy but NOT orientals. Wonderful scent, and very androgenous, it is equally lovely on a man or a woman

I'm not sure how I missed this one! Ouija was my very first BPAL love, from my very first swap:)! On my skin it is herbal, rosey and woody and quite nice for fall, but as a room/house scent? OHH I LOVE IT! It indeed is olivanders wand shop minus the dust I use it in my oil burner, as well as a few drops in my mop bucket or dusting cloth to make my whole home smell divine but not at all fake or perfumy! Everyone comments on how nice my home smells and they aren't hunting to find the plugin It's an "always must have on hand" scent

Harlot's older sexier sister, hot juicy and oh so yummy! It starts out with dragon's blood, but not a sweet soft one, them amber perhaps and dark cloves and cinamon? I'm guessing, but it's puwerful stuff. If you love blood amber, anne bonny and harlot, this one is right up your alley PS, I never even catch a whiff of the vetier, which usually screams on me, so this is vetiver very light... I LOVE IT!! edit to add, i can still smell it this am after an 8 hour work shift and a full night's sleep ! Awesome staying power!!! sdit agaon, the patchouli is springing forward now that I am closer to my moon time and I STILL adore it, what a marvelous scent.sexy, fierce and heady. hubby loves it too, but at work there was a wondering about "that smell" They love milk moon, I understand why they don't really adore this, it is too visceral for a work environment. This blend is (musically) to me "Hotel California" wear it and listen, you will hear the smell

chocolate!! Chocolate chocolate with orange orange, creamy orange orange flower water, GONE! all in 15 minutes after 15 minutes there is a faint orange flower water floral on my wrist with occasional puffs of creaminess and that's all folks. what a suprise... I expected heavy, heady foody... only for a second or two it seems... ADDED Aug. 17: chocolate and orange, nice but then it goes all cocoa butter and stays that way gah YECH. I have ordered velvet and now that I see the two have been compared as similar I am afraid. I think I goofed and should have ordered Tezcatlipoca? We will see.

This one is like if lady of shallot moved to old new orleans! It's aquatic, but in a clean way not like bayou with the decay scent. And the florals are lead by ylang and honeysuckle and are lovely and overblown wild things. I like it very much! Jasmine peeks into view too, but not strongly as she is often wanting to do The first few moments are loud and brash but the drydown is soft and lovely

I swear I smell pink pepper in this one. I smell cotton candy, strawberries and pink pepper! pleasant light and fresh, and very ... PINK! it dries down to warm sugar glaze, still with the pink pepperiness, not overwhelming, but there and warm and heating it up. Wearing it it gets warmer and rounder, less little girlish

Jabberwockey seems to be the sick oil of choice in the house. I use it for me and the kids request it in a burner when they feel ill Kumiho runs a close second for hubby and the boys -
Forest & Woods Scents (with and without evergreens)
mmcfa2 replied to omly's topic in Recommendations
hands down thanatopsis. not sweet, nothing distracting you from anything but a deep beautiful forest. All the others i have tried had something extra, musk or fruit, etc. I have luop garou on order and have not tried in yet though -
It seems silly to just be an echo, but this is really ROSE!! I have never smelled a rose scent that so clearly evokes a big fresh hothouse red rose
-
Wet: apples!!! drying, reminds me of carnal, must be similar spices/herbs to balance the apple. The amber never really pushes forward. This is a nice scent, reminds me of the fall and winter holidays and cider with mulling spices. I'm saving this imp to retest in the fall
-
beautiful! This is a walk in deep winter woods of the evergreen variety with snow and crisp branches snapping under foot to collect your thoughts or wood for a waiting fire. Brilliant scent, clearing and deep and thought provoking. I love how the musk underscores the heady menthol-like juniper and pine. This makes me think of jabberwockey all grown up! I would swear there is a tiny drop of civet here, not any more, just a tiny drop as it does not go sour cat pee on me. It only seems a warm furry creature lurks here.

The coiled serpent is my favorite dry wood patchouli blend. Anne Bonny came to me on a swap and reminds me very much of the coiled serpent. That said the coiled serpent is serious and thoughtful and anne bonny has a playful heart made a bit more feminine by the frankincense. I like them both I see this is a more everyday type scent although it fades fairly quickly on me. I will reservd the coiled serpent as my favorite of the two, only because It FEELS powerful to me. This one is a girly sexay, playful. Both are quite beautiful however. Don't like sandalwood and patchouli? Well don't bother cause this is in your face and i love it!

I almost messed this scent up for myself with wanting it to smell a certain way. Initially on it is white musk. Gawdawful 70's white musk, coty musk, musk in a oil bottle that you applied sloppily because you just had to smell like musk although white musk smells nothing like real musk at all. I was not so nuts to wash it off, but I was really saddened by the smell. I'm so glad I did not wash it off After the musk settled down this georgeous tea appeared and slowly milk was added to it and I caught a whiff of lavender from somewhere. Only after this wonderful gustatory feast did the musk reappear and this time it was a bit refined and subtle with a bit of spice around it's edges. At the very end of the scent I smelled the same spices and vanilla present in snake oil, but grounded by black tea, LOVELY!! I like this alot, even if the first snif was so er 70's

Dang, there is the same baby powder smell from all the "come hither" type voodoo blends. It's backed up this time by spices and I REALLY like the spices. I'll have them alone please? I wish I could identify this note, the baby powder one An odd funky almost body odor smell arives last, like you want to hate it but have to smell it? This stuff IS interesting. I can smell the raw sex in it, but the smell is offputting to ME so I really wouldn't feel sexay for the person drawn by the scent. Good to try, but not for me to buy. Thank God I love wolf's heart and WoND and High John or I'd lose out on oils with intention altogether.

A profound and entrancing potion. Deep, wispy, and unfathomably dark: vetiver, dark woods, crumbling and burnt black sandalwood and a drop of lemon rind. Complex, smoky and woody. Almost searing. I would ravish for this man! That said, it's too manly for me and I'm gonna go try it on my hubby and then maybe ravish him...

Yummy Yummy! maybe i don't need to be afriad of plum notes after all! I can smell crisp juicy plum al the way from my wrist at the keyboard to my nose. Plummy spiced floral, with no really doscernable notes beyond that. I'd swear I smell bamboo but it's not listed. Next I smell the musk and it's divine, not heavy, just right to balance the blend. This one is really lovely! Sadly, this gets a bit heavy as it dries down, and it really does nothing for the light fresh blend I had on a few minutes ago, sweet unto nausea and it's got to be washed off
