In the bottle: herbs, smokey wine, robust musk. Wet: something spicy kicks up to the surface mixing with the wine and gives the impression of mulled wine. There is a pine or fir note sitting in the background that gives this scent a true backbone. WOW! Drydown: this is gorgeous after 30 minutes beyond application. A smoked, sweet berry (almost like juniper berries?) scent somehow rises to the surface and mixes with a leafy, bonfire note. Reminds me of the years I spent as a youngster around the Fall bonfires after dusk where all the scents of the day co-mingle and leave you warm and breathless. Another blend unique to itself and a winner!

In the bottle: juicey and sweet. A combination of fruits and spiced orange peel and an image of marigold petals floating on top. One of those scents that keep you sniffing so you can figure out just what it is that you're smelling the most! On my skin: definitely warm, with subdued florals and a hint of spiced orange. I detect hints of amber or resin that keep this scent alive and a perfect base for all the spicey fruits and fleeting florals. Drydown: this reminds me of a 'red sky at night' sunset over a lazy lake at the end of summer. This blend is so perfect and remains true to initial application that there is no note that screams 'me!'. I love this! Perfect notes and beautiful imagery.

In the bottle: this is crisp and minty. I detect something water-ozone that reminds me of juniper in the background. On my skin: the mint and juniper comes alive and gives the impression of ice over ground that's been frozen for 3 months. Drydown: Nuclear Winter stayed true in drydown to its initial application rendering a cool sensation. Perfect year around!

In the bottle: I get a strong peppermint with a subtle hint of vanilla. On my skin: This is the first time a mint stayed true on my skin and hasn't eaten up any other notes right out of the gates. Drydown: As Snowblind dries down, the vanilla starts to come further to the surface and the minty goodness backs off and stays this way for hours. So beautiful!

A distant whisper of pine, wet moss and dry leaves passing through vast halls and winding dungeons whose scent bears the memory of blood, faded splendor, imperial elegance and stunning violence. In the bottle: an unknown floral in the backround (pretty elusive) of mossy, dusty earth. It evokes an image of walking through the forest at dusk. Wet on skin: a somewhat sweet note makes an appearance but I also smell something spicy, like black pepper. Drydown: it has a ‘dry leaves’ feel, some pine has come out and stuck around but there are other things in this that I can't descibe. The dragon's blood mixed very well with something akin to pepper, which was a great combination as it rounded out the bitterness that dragon's blood has a tendency to do in some blends. This blend really evoked a lot of imagery and was very appropriately named for its massiveness!!

In Bottle: This smells like Beaver Moon and All Souls combined. Sweet, fruity and a hint of 'dustiness' swirling in the background. Upon initial contact: The creaminess of the cheescake I smelled in the bottle starts to disappear and the grape and incense start to swirl. Dry: Whoa, this morphed so much that it was hard to keep track of! It doesn't smell like any one thing I can name, just a sweet and soft grounding, a tad powdery but nice. Most scents that end in a powder effect put me off but this wasn't that way at all. I think the blending of grapes to the incense lent a very nice drydown to this blend.

In the bottle, this one has a musky, resinous feel that evokes strength. This is my 'happy' scent, and not for obvious reasons (like cheery and light scents) but for the most SOLID of strength---without smelling like a tree---that you can feel. He's different than other masculine scents and never goes cedar or aftershave-like on me. When I wear Doc Buzzard I feel like I have the strength of 10 men standing behind me and I never smell *like* one. Its the most uncanny feeling in the world but very powerful. Its my true 'Behind every successful woman stands a silent Doc Buzzard' scent.

In the bottle I smell something almost similar to dragon's blood (which is a no-no for me), plum and a hint of patchouli. On my skin, the 'dragons blood' feel goes away and I'm left with a smokey, resinous and fruity combination. The plum, patchouli and champaca flower are mixing beautifully!!!! On drydown, this is a very sensual and exotic scent on me. There isn't one note that stands out.....just a SEXY scent over-all and on the drydown!!!

I was hesitant to try this, only because of the honey note in it. As much as I like honey (the real stuff!), I've found that honey in any blend can really be a wild card for me. In the bottle, this is almost 'powdery', which I know right off is the presence of honey. Upon application, however, it's immediately musk and sweetness. The vanilla and honey are evident, but not cloying at all. I'm surpised, to say the least!!The rest of the roundness of this blend must be the herbs and the absinthe, most of which I'm not familiar with but this blend is GORGEOUS!! As it dries, it just gets softer and closer to the skin. It's definitely a close-to-the-skin blend, and softly sensuous. A true WINNER!

This is indeed interesting.... In the bottle: A bitter note I'm not sure what it is though, is at the top of the blend Initial 30 minutes: If bitterness could somehow be described as 'creamy' that's how I would describe this scent. It has a very strong presence and as much as I like scents that stand up for themselves I'm not sure I can reasonably pull this one off! Drydown: There has been something in this blend that has had me from the get-go wondering, "What is that note or fragrance blend that I keep smelling that's familiar?!" Indeed....someone made a connection earlier on in the thread about an Indian recipe book and it finally donned on me that this reminds me of being at one of the best Indian restuarants in town when they have the best spread put out for buffet selection. There's always a mingling of notes that together draws me to a certain part of the table but I never can put my finger on WHICH dish is appealing to my nose!! Needless to say, I usually walk away frustrated. A very intriquing blend. I'm not sure I like smelling like the 'dish' I can never find at that fabulous restuarant but it sure was an appealing idea!!

Let me preface this by saying that this is one of the best newer released GC blends I've tried in a long time! In the bottle: I smell tomato leaf, cranberries and a little earthiness. Wet: This smells just like a mixture of Mistletoe and Skadi....GORGEOUS! On the dry-down: This really didn't change on the drydown and was I really happy about that! A mixture of Skadi and Mistletoe (that are as rare to come by as they are now) are all here for me to wear in a GC scent!! This is a true thumbs up and will be getting a lot of usage out of me all year around!!

I *LOVE* the effervescent feel to this scent!!! In the bottle: this smells like Trix cereal. Fruity, sweet and tartness from a fleeting cherry impression at first whiff. On, first few minutes: the candied fruits, layered with a hint of vanilla-sugar come alive leaving the initial impression of Trix cereal far in the background. Settled down, after an hour or so: the sandalwood, or something reminiscent of it with a slight tinge of vanilla/musk is what stays the closest to the skin. The candied fruits waft up every so often rendering this Moon quite the BEAUTY! There are notes in here I'm unfamiliar with but overall this is a very "Happy" blend and an instant keeper!

Hey, Sookster....depending on which formulation you like, either the EDT or the EDP, the closest I've found in BPAL is "O". It wears similar to the EDT version of POTL because I don't get alot of the almond or marzipan from the EDT version. As for the EDP version of POTL (this is much more rounded than the EDT version and just richer in the vanilla, almost and cherry/marzipan finish), no I haven't had any luck with finding a close match in BPAL. Its not for lack of trying, though!!

Beaver Moon: This is INDEED a foody scent! Full of fun, parties, birthday cakes....but thank goodness not full of calories! Out of the bottle: the first thing that passes quickly (thankfully) is a hint of cherry/strawberry or red fruit. Another note on top of this somehow softens it and makes the cherry/strawberry hint much more creamier. After an hour: still true to form in the bakery arena, now it has softened somewhat and I get hints of what could be perceived as graham cracker crust or even the thinnest part of the cake left in the pan that you slide your index finger across to scoop out.

I got an frimp of this from the Lab (thank you!) In the vial: fresh and distinct at the same time if you can imagine that. After 5 minutes: I smell Neroli and something similar to Tuberose but the 2 are so well blended its hard to discern them. Although it still maintains its freshness, it passes for much more than just a 'fresh, clean, what soap are you wearing, dear?' Drydown: A hint of gardenias tells the Neroli combination to 'move over', thus making this a real BEAUTY upon drydown. This is one CLASSIC scent to wear all year around. It doesn't follow the same rules that other fragrances do and allow itself to be categorized into a 'season'. Final Note: I looked up these note combinations that I could pick up on and sure enough, one of them was 'White Shoulders'. This one is a true GEM.

Temple: Egyptian This is a gorgeous blend! I know they say these are just working oils and not necessarily worn as fragrance but I dabbed this one ever so lightly to get a feel for it. Out of the bottle: this has a similar feel to that of Scarecrow (arid, dry as dust) but somehow darker. Maybe the same feel but whereas Scarescrow strikes as 'high-noon' this blend would be just as the sun started to set at dusk in the desert. After an hour: the lotus whispers its presence through the incenses (ever so slightly since this is no way a floral blend to my nose) almost as mysteriously as if you were traveling down the nile, basking in the sun behind protective netting smelling temple fires in the distance and there....in the water, ever so gently, spinning lazily.......floats a lotus flower. Truly time-transcending!

" You may be one of those 'handfuls' like me that was climbing up the wall with worry....this has never happened to me with all the orders I've placed. But I was happy that the lab was putting extra effort to expedite my order.

I don't know how much help this will be as its a Limited Edition but All Saints was a good *close match* for Charlie!

nope, nope. not too late. still reading over reviews and whatnot. i ran across one review which mentions Vixen as being the better of the two. before enlisting everyone's help, i ALSO chose Vixen. have you tried Vixen and, if so, which of the two would you recommend? E. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I, too have also worn Vixen and maybe its chemistry but I had more people ask me (they know I'm a Shalimar wearer) if I switched over to EDP from EDT when I wore the Ravenous. They smelled "Shalimar" on me, only much richer in the 'wafting' department. Order both----if you aren't happy with the Ravenous, I'll purchase it from you as I'll be needing more in the next few months! No $$ lost.
